That assumes both A) that the horrorterrors know the future and B) that they don't think it can really be changed. Maybe they genuinely thought they could change things, such as by perhaps fulfilling all the requisite loops a different way? Imagine a scenario where a time traveler learns of their death, therefore being destined to die, and instead fake their death to create the conditions under which they learned of the death originally.

It's possible. But if the Horrorterrors do have a way to trick the Alpha Timeline like that, then they've really been holding out on us by not mentioning it to the Players. Such a revelation would completely change the game - we might even be able to fake the Earth's death.

Absolutely! I've got two separate answers for you, depending on what your goal is here.

If your main goal is just to analyse Homestuck, then you’re probably best off picking a language whose syntax is easy to understand, such as Python. You'll pick up on the basic logic pretty quickly, and the ~ATH snippets will start to make a lot more sense.

If you’re actually interested in programming for its own sake, then I recommend you start with my own first language, C. It’s a lot harder for a newbie to get to grips with, but doing so will give you a much more solid theoretical foundation then ostensibly ‘easier’ languages.

W3schools is a decent starting resource for both languages - but if you need more specific guidance, let me know, and I'd be happy to help!

They're not obscure, per se, but there will never be enough sloths in media. The only fictional sloth of note is Sid from Ice Age – and he does not do them justice.

Capybaras are also underrated as hell – so much so that LibreOffice, which I'm using to edit this compilation, doesn’t even recognize the word as real!

You accessed the double-secret version of Past Karkat: Wake Up, which plays the Earthbound Halloween Hack version of Megalovania rather than the Homestuck one.

Anonymous asked: Personally, I think John gaining so many levels so quickly is tied to his role as the heir - he gains so many levels without really trying, not because he's better than the trolls or his friends, but because he just kind of falls into it. The game rewards him for taking the path of least resistance.

That certainly makes sense if we just look at John - but I have trouble reconciling this interpretation with our other Heir. Equius certainly has some advantages, but they aren't exactly unique to him, as you'd expect them to be if his Heir class was responsible for them.

Yes, he's a highblood, but he's outranked by three non-Heirs - and his strength doesn't seem to be unique either, as Feferi seems capable of similar feats. Perhaps Equius will trip and fall into more unique privilege, but it hasn't happened yet.

Slick has had ties to Blood since he first met Karkat, so that tracks - and Boxcars is a shipper, so Nepeta's aspect is probably the best fit for now. I'm not sure about the other two, but I'll revisit them later!

Daily Dragon #126 - Hothead

Happy 40th anniversary TMNT!! I've been wanting do draw Hothead, or just some TMNT dragon, for a bit now. Soooo, why not take advantage of the anniversary, right?

This is my own design inspired by a few different sources, mainly the action figure and tournament fighters' boxart and his in game sprite. There's a LOT more TMNT dragons than I think you realize, so dont be surprised if I do another one later

Daily Dragon #127 - Marci Midas

This dragon's main interests are: Gold, Golden things, looking richer than everyone else, and ignoring you. Maybe if you ask reeeeaaally nicely and give her presents she'll look in your general direction,

Large, kind, and fluffy dragons who just love love! They're very affectionate, love hugging, and are kind to everyone they encounter. Similar to Capybaras, they seemingly have no natural enemies

Quick redraw of a dragon I did at FWA LAST year. Figured it was the perfect chance to reboot them for this challenge! I also love the other two so dont be surprised if they get a redo eventually too

Modern!Dustin Henderson starts a Youtube channel or a podcast for some class in college (idk what type of class would have an assignment like that, it's not my major) but finds that he really enjoys it so he keeps up with it and becomes really popular.

It's called "Don't Be Dumb" and is similar to Crash Course or Armchair Historian or Cliffs Notes and he just posts videos talking about all kinds of stuff. A breakdown of the plot of Moby Dick? He's done it. A 20 minute video about capybaras? It's on there. A discussion about the fall of the Ottoman Empire? For sure.

People love him because he's so funny and so smart and he explains things really well. He takes requests so if a kid sends him an email saying "dude I have a test next week on the unit circle" you can bet your ass there'll be a video posted the next day with the most easy-to-understand explanation of the unit circle.

The channel is all over the place but somehow organized and it's so funny and so helpful and everyone loves it. He starts every episode with "Salutations and welcome to Don't Be Dumb, where your host Dustin (that's me) makes you less dumb." and ends it with "Thanks for watching, and if you enjoyed the video I humbly ask that you like and subscribe. Carlos the Capybara: Flute Player and Doughnut Lover

Once upon a time, in a peaceful and secluded glade nestled deep within the heart of the Amazon rainforest, lived a capybara named Carlos. Now, capybaras are known for their gentle and sociable nature, but Carlos was no ordinary capybara. He had a unique passion that set him apart from the rest of his capybara friends - he played the flute, and he played it with remarkable skill.

Every morning, as the sun's first rays filtered through the dense foliage, Carlos would sit by the tranquil river that meandered through the glade. There, he would take out his wooden flute, lovingly carved from a fallen tree branch, and begin to play. I love when I wear mouse ears at my job. I get a lot of compliments and kids love them. It makes my job more fun and eases the daily stress.

Sometimes, people ask "why," which is wild because

A) I'm cute as hell and what other reason is needed?

And

B) Why does anybody do anything?

As a result, it takes all my good nature to restrain myself from answering their question with unrelated responses like "my pet capybara died in an ambulance crash"

What animal do you associate with your OCs?

Rikard: European badger - they look like they’ll politely invite you for afternoon tea meanwhile American badgers have the rep of "gas station crackhead"

Karla: hedgehog - the babies are super cute but their spikes quickly harden, also they apparently love cuddles??

Rachel: capybara - chill and cuddly and unproblematic and just vibes with everyone

Sam: ferret - hyper and mischievous and also surprisingly cuddly

Dave: manul (aka “IRL Grumpy Cat”) - very talented hunters but also loners, have been observed apparently cooperating with snow leopards as their predators are the leopards’ prey

Jack: chinchilla - just a silly boi, a polite fellow

Simael: octopus - smart, arms are kind of like a flexible tail?, punches fish ‘for no reason’ but current theory is it trains the fish they cooperate with by punishing thieves

Twoey: a corvid (crows and ravens) - clever and enjoy puzzles but childlike, very attracted to shiny objects also Twoey eventually gets a sort of satchel/sideways-saddle to travel with Simael and it’s like a perch

Bryce: orca or dolphin or smth - they wake up and choose violence daily

Glissenda: monotreme (echidna and platypus) - wtf are you sure that's even real?? Like no joke it exists??

Movie Night?

Obviously I wouldn’t invite Bryce or Julie because they are objectively horrible people.

I’d invite Rikard, not because he’s my favorite but because he’s the most chill. Jack, Sam, and Rachel would want to talk, Karla can hardly sit still, Dave has Resting Bitch Vibe... Nikolas might be a fun movie date partner though. Twoey would need a lot of cultural stuff explained, and so would Simael but he’s a quick learner and asks insightful questions.
