Fic Stats Meme
I'm procrastinating on going to work so I nabbed this off @three--rings
rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words.
Most Hits: The Biblical Sense - my very, very first OFMD fic, written immediately after I watched up to episode 8 :) And then David Jenkins casually came along and murdered us all
Second Most Kudos: Training Buddies - Before Daredevil got pulled into main MCU stuff, I wrote this friendship between Bucky Barnes (post-battle of New York) and Matt Murdock. Wish the MCU hadn't destroyed my interest in their characters before I finished it.
Third Most Comments: Inverse Omens - Other Moments - My extended world for my reverse-role Good Omens AU with demon Aziraphale and angel Crowley. Technically cheating since it's 96 chapters long 😅
Fourth Most Bookmarks: Fancy - a gentle little erotic study of the joys of Ed Teach in a bodice. Written in collaboration with Aivelin
Fifth Most Words - Anatomy 101 - 100k of Crowley and Aziraphale growing progressively closer through the millennia over much sex and wine
Fic With The Least Words: Riding Shotgun - a tiny fragment of a missing scene from Captain America: Civil War, when I was still holding out a vague hope for the MCU.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 Sells for World Record Price
When Stan Lee and Steve Ditko brought life to Spider-Man, he was far from a sure-fire hit. A teenage hero had never headlined a book before, as they were usually sidekicks. But his debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 was well-received – so well-received that he was given his own title a year later. Now, the first issue of that title has set an auction house record for the highest price paid for that issue in 9.6, via Hake’s Auctions.
Featuring the first appearances of J. Jonah Jameson and The Chameleon, as well as a guest appearance by the Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man #1 is the definition of a “key issue”. This copy, graded 9.6 NM+ by the CGC, came from the John B. Goodrich Collection, where it had resided for 25 years. Recently certified, there are only two copies graded higher (CGC 9.8) according to the CGC Census, and a current total of 4,688 graded copies in existence.
The issue pulled in $520,380, nearly $200,000 more than another 9.6-graded copy that sold in November of 2022. That copy had off-white pages, while this one had white pages – a key difference, even though those pages will never be seen again.
“The result does not surprise me,” said Alex Winter, President of Hake’s Auctions. “You are talking about one of the key issues in all of comics, regardless of era. Add to it all the near impossible-to-get grade of 9.6 and that is what spurred the aggressive bidding. In the end the winning bidder now has one of the top copies in the world of one of the most important books in the Marvel Universe.”
The most recent Hake’s Auction also featured copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 (first Spider-Man), Amazing Spider-Man #2-20 (first appearances of many iconic Spidey villains), Amazing Spider-Man #50 (first Kingpin), Amazing Spider-Man #101 (first Morbius), Amazing Spider-Man #129 (first Punisher), Daredevil #1-7 (first Daredevil) and Incredible Hulk #181-182 (first Wolverine), all from the John B. Goodrich Collection.
Check out Hake's other auctions here.

the dd account that you're pertaining to is so funny because i saw posts from them complaining about getting likes and reblogs on her netflix show gifs...like??? 😭 then delete them?
it also just shows how much they used to like the netflix show then suddenly treating it like a villain or something looool. it's honestly quite pathetic idk. and they can't tell me that all that personality change was because they read some comic books 💀
re: post calling out an individual in fandom
(btw their pronouns are he/they)
it’s blatant virtue signaling.
like, you crafted your blog around netflix daredevil by prolifically creating content for netflix daredevil, putting them in netflix daredevil tags, engaging with netflix daredevil enjoyers and their creations, which then acquired you a following for, what do you know—netflix daredevil. and you are now complaining about- lmao.
there are clear solutions here:
delete the posts. tumblr has a mass post editor for this.
turn your posts private
mute your notifications on those posts
turn off reblogs on those posts
put a password on your blog
remake your blog
but complaining wins them social points :p and i bet they'll cite freedom of speech on their own blog and whatever else to defend attention-seeking behavior, but it doesn't change the reality that it's boring, vapid, and predictable.
the hatred is classic projection, it's defense mechanisms 101. has nothing to do with tv vs. comics and everything to do with a fragile sense of identity and shame for the part of themselves that they perceive to be "ignorant" or vulgarian. there are plenty of nice people in this fandom that like the comics more but don't harbor this level of internalized shame.

Reading The Hidden Oracle: Chapter 2 (SPOILERS)
What happens if Apollo dies? He almost got beat to death by these two hooligans. If that happens, does he just resurrect in the dumpster? 'Cause I highly doubt Zeus would actually let him die.
I thought this "boss" fellow was Zeus sending people to give Apollo a warm welcome to the mortal world and maybe appearing to those two in a mortal disguise, but then Apollo mentions again later on that he doesn't know who the "boss" is. There wouldn't be so much emphasis on that if it were just Zeus.
I love Meg, but I'm not sure I could read a whole series with her around all the time. Hopefully I'll warm up to her. It sounds like she's got some secrets, what with her knowing Greek mythology 101 already and knowing how to control rotten fruit and wait WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?
Wait, is Hell's Kitchen a real place? I only know it from Daredevil and was fully convinced it was a made-up section of the city created solely for the story's setting and so that they could make devil puns... I deeply apologize to all residents of Hell's Kitchen for my misconception.
I love that Apollo's like "Yeah, Percy would totally help me. I would willingly do his chores for the next three years!" as if Percy wouldn't sock the next god he sees in the face after all he's been through.
Also: yes, Apollo, you 110% walked right into Meg claiming your service. It was a fully opaque wall and instead of slowing down, you sped up.
"I have a sidekick god named Lester!" I love how she refers to him as Lester. "...normally I just eat ambrosia" Wow, what a plain diet. Expand your palate, dude.

Daredevil (vol. 1) #101: Vengeance in the Sky with Diamonds!
Read Date: March 07, 2023
Cover Date: July 1973
● Writer: Steve Gerber ● Penciler: Rich Buckler ● Inker: Frank Giacoia ● Colorist: George Roussos ● Letterer: Artie Simek ● Editor: Roy Thomas ●
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read:
● Angar looks like he smells like patchouli and B.O.
● hey, copper, only Frank Castle is allowed to call DD “Red”
● cops asking DD for physical description, i.e. hair and eye color and any distinguishing marks
● aww, Tasha left Ivan behind, too?
● the artists’ coloring of Daredevil’s black eyes look really creepy here
wait… Tasha? wtf is going on?
● I hope Angar gets defeated this issue. I am so over this story arc.
● oh, Angar is reporting to someone… “The Man”
● the “Man” implanted something in Angar’s head to control him, which he apparently also did with Mordecai (the Dark Messiah), which makes sense as he had similar powers
● wow, Matt makes one point and that’s enough for Angar to fold like a cheap suit and set him free
● 👏👏
Synopsis:
Easily defeated by Angar the Screamer, DD returns home to find that Black Widow has returned, having not enjoyed her experience working with the Avengers.
When Angar the Screamer uses his powers to turn the Black Widow against Daredevil, the two fight the hallucinogenic criminal's powers and work together to try and stop him. However, during the course of the battle Angar uses his powers to escape the two heroes.

Hey Imp! I'm looking to purchase an omnibus or volume for any series Namor has and I was wondering what'd be the best for someone who's just getting into the character? I've read Atlantis Attacks, King in Black: Namor, Invaders (2019), and All New Invaders, but I want to read more surrounding him and his cast of characters. Since you're the resident expert, what do you recommend?
Hello! I highly recommend new Namor fans read Saga of the Sub-Mariner (1988), a 12 limited series that goes over Namor's entire history from the Golden Age until the 90s series. If you don't want to hunt down the single comics then you can find it in an Omnibus which also collects Jim Hammond's 4 issue limited series.
Sub-Mariner & The Original Human Torch
However the best era of Namor was in the Silver Age in terms of his supporting cast and stories that feature him and Atlantis. There's quite a few collections out there:
Marvel Masterworks: Sub-Mariner volumes collect:
Marvel Comics #1
Daredevil (1964) #7 + 77
Tales to Astonish #70-101
Tales of Suspense #80
Iron Man & Sub-Mariner (1968) #1
The Sub-Mariner (1968) #1-72
Marvel Spotlight (1971) #27
This is the longest running and most definitive Silver Age run for Namor and Atlantis. It introduces a lot of characters, and Namor villains, and brings back old characters from the Golden Age as well.
Epic Collection: Sub-Mariner volumes collect:
Fantastic Four (1961) #4, 6, 9, 14, 27, 33, Annual 1
Strange Tales (1951) #107
Avengers (1963) #3-4
X-Men (1963) #6
Daredevil (1964) #7
Tales to Astonish #70-76
The Sub-Mariner (1968) #4-27
There's some overlap/same issues here as the Masterworks but also I consider the Epic collection as Namor's early guest starring comics all in one place.
This is a new Omnibus, but it collects stuff that's been in the other two. Mighty Marvel Masterworks: Namor the Sub-Mariner collects:
Tales to Astonish #70-80
Daredevil (1964) #7
Prince, Namor the Sub-Mariner (1984) has not been collected to my knowledge but it's a 4 issue limited series
Personally I would rec Sub-Mariner: Revolution which collects:
Sub-Mariner (2007) #1-6
The full 90s series has not been collected into an Omnibus yet but so far Marvel has put out a few volumes.
Namor: Visionaries - John Bryne collects
Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1990) #1-18
Namor the Sub-Mariner by John Bryne & Jae Lee collects:
Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1990) #1-40, Annual 1 + 2, Incredible Hulk Annual #18, Silver Surfer Annual 5, Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme Annual 2
All that's left is the Namor: The First Mutant collections which I think is split into 2 volumes and collects Namor: The First Mutant (2010) - 11 issues + Annual, but it could be more like an x-men comic in there too or something
Namor in other omnibuses would be a lot because he's been on nearly every major Marvel team, and I know this is alot but I wanted to give you a complete look at the omnibuses that only focus on Namor solos and not the other teams omnibuses. As I said before I personally enjoy the comics of Sub-Mariner (2007), Tales to Astonish and The Sub-Mariner (1968), First Mutant is good too.

Can I just say that I loved the fact that the aliens in Zombies 3 all seemingly use They/Them pronouns in some way?
A-spen uses exclusively They/Them pronouns, while A-lan was referred to as He/They!! I think they were the only two aliens ever referred to singularly, but I think to think that A-li uses She/They
