I was planning to take a walk but then it rained so I did some jump rope instead and it helped me recover some of that energy 🌷 okay. wow. so i did a lot more than I expected? damn, I'm kinda proud of myself for this one 😌 that being said I am not expecting to do this everyday, I'll burn out in less than a week's time if i try T-T but it was a good start to the challenge 🌙 sleep time 🤝 sleepy time 🤝 right now. goodnight besties!

So i'm on my watch as a city guard, yeah? And we've been hosting mercenaries for the past two months, so it's been hectic, i've seen some shit, don't get me wrong, but this is beyond even me. I'm on street patrol on Smith's Bend, and i see this gagglefuck cluster of adventurers just like? Enter the sewer that were pointed out by a child or perhaps a gnome. And lemme tell you. They looked like professionals. I'm talking like plate armor and magic items. So protocol dictates that i observe and not intervene, because I don't want to get my rectum mangled by some jackass wizard's spell. So they enter, sure, why not, and I decide to move along on patrol, which takes me the better part of two hours, and as I go back there, there they are? BUt they're covered in some strange viscera, and one of them is like fucking caked in blood and mucus, and weirdest part is that one of them is missing??. The Italian lire was replaced with the euro in 1998, unluckily enough for Araki who wrote part 5 before then. However, luckily for us the lire was still used by criminals for a while after the switch, and must have had at least some respectable use as well as the Bank of England continues to have conversion data to British pounds for some years afterwards.

In 1999, the value of the lire averaged at about 3000 to a pound, so 20 million = 6667 British pounds.

Now to adjust for inflation- for this I just put the data into a calculator. The result was 10 647.

£10 647 is equivalent to 12 454 euros or 13 309 US dollars.

For a four man hit, that is very low. I read somewhere that an Italian hitman can usually earn about 27 000 dollars for a hit, and i don’t know if that’s even divided between accomplices or not. I will say that *maybe* hitmen in the 90s were paid less because there were more of them and mafia deaths in general were more common, and supply drives down price. (Again, Araki was incredibly unlucky to write a mafia story set several years in the future, during the most unfortunate decade for the mafia in modern times). However, given the fact La Squadra are the only assassin team with fucking superpowers you’d still expect more, especially given how much wealth Passione has lying around.

To conclude, La Squadra are paid enough to get by, assuming they get at least a couple hits a month between the whole squad.

But they definitely are underpaid.
