#decided to redesign a character i made like last year lol

First off, I wanna say that I mean no disrespect to the artists who worked on Hazbin Hotel. It’s just that I’ve been seeing people make redesigns of Hazbin characters, and though I don’t usually participate in stuff like this (it seems fun, and you are all incredibly talented. I just feel kinda bad tinkering with someone else’s work like this), the show made me frustrated, and frustrated induced brain-vomit started sloshing around in my skull so noisily that it’s been keeping me up. And, well, I had to get it out somehow.

So…here ya go, I guess. It’s nothing crazy or new. It’s just a few disgustingly rough ideas for this very specific version of Charlie that I kept seeing in my head. They’re far from polished or anything, and they’re definitely missing some key details because I’ve been hyper-fixating on trying to get the face right lol. I might make a full body illustration later, but I have commitment issues so who knows how far this’ll go. That is to say, don’t expect any more of this or the other characters unless 1) my brain decides to torment me with more literal demons or 2) I, by some miracle, become a more productive person. Plus, Tumblr’s a new thing for me, and I don’t know what I’m doing with this yet other than posting art and then disappearing for years. Seriously, you have no idea. It’s a wonder that I posted for a second time.

Anyway, the direction of this design is pretty obvious. I went with the lamb/goat motif because I liked the idea of inverted/parallel symbolism. I was toying with a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” concept where they appear to be a lamb in this form but actually shift into a more wolf-like dragon sorta thing when prompted. Their wardrobe is supposed to be an extension of the innocent lamb deception as the ruffles and looseness are meant to be kinda reminiscent of fluff while communicating a sense of privilege (a white untainted by the grit of Hell… something that probably wouldn’t last long). I was also inspired by white goth and catholic goth aesthetics (I blame Ethel Cain) as well as those insanely beautiful ball-jointed dolls. I don’t know if I captured that well (to be honest, the more I look at those digital renditions, the more I hate them). I considered adding a pair of spectacles coz I thought it was cute lol, and because I thought it could be a way for them to try and seem more human.

If I were doing a rewrite (which I have ideas for, but I should probably focus on my actual original characters instead) then:

1. They would be agender and androgynous (I’d go the Good Omens route and make most angels/non-human entities largely genderless as gender is a human construction, one that most angels wouldn’t really concern themselves with)

2. They would be kinda elitist and naive but still sweet

3. Their intentions would not be entirely insincere, but they would not be acting without selfish goals

4. They would be an eldritch abomination

5. There would be possible exploration of their role as an antichrist as well as basically being a tool of war for their papa’s self-gratification

6. Their pops would suck

7. More horror

8. Like, it wouldn’t not be funny…but horror’s my genre so….

9. They would not suck at fighting, but death is traumatizing and so is being the cause of it (squeamish)

10. That being said, could make friends with Death??

And that’s all I feel like writing. Hopefully I update this lol

I'm gonna ramble under the cut about the designs n stuff but you can scroll past that to get to the timelapse if u want.

@jotg-miraculousrewriteau is where you'll see any updates about this story/au/rewrite I have going on if you get interested. It'll take some time before I get around to writing it but I'll be trying to draw more. I'll list some reasons for why I haven't gotten much out recently under the cut. Not abandoning the au tho!

This one was a STRUGGLE and part of it was because I still liked last year's and because my interest in ml has taken a back burner with other interests BARGING IN this year.

Not to say that I don't want to work on my rewrite anymore, but I'm probably gonna do some more rewatching so I can get fully back into it again. I can't really plop down what I've come up with for the rewrite and be satisfied anyway, so I'm stuck until I get the thing written and drawn.

THAT ASIDE, I changed up their posing again and included updates to the character design. I don't know if what I've drawn Marinette in here will stick for her redesign as far as outfits are concerned, but I don't really like the previous outfit I gave her anymore so I needed to work with something new.

Overall I like how this turned out, even if I'm a bit unsure abt other areas.

Specifics: Once again, I liked coloring and drawing Marinette more which shouldn't be a surprise since I have more to work with in her design. I made the foolish mistake of not including her freckles in the past, so now I'm amending for that. She's sort of matching her bf now.

I included some lore bits abt Tikki and Marinette's complicated relationship here that I haven't talked abt before. Marinette is not doing anything to Tikki intentionally, but I have a plot line in the story I have planned that involves how the kwamis went from deities to kwamis. Got caged in the miraculous. And the consequences that follow.

INcluding Marinette and Tikki gaining a strained relationship for the majority of the story.

But that's all I'll say on that for now.

You might notice Marinette's skintone has changed a bit from other redesigns. What happened was, when I was first coming up with ideas for the rewrite, I was going off of critisysms I saw a lot and noting them down. One, was that Mari didn't look like she was biracial and her skin tone should reflect that. Now. I was young and figured "Oh okay! So. Lets look up what average chinese skintones are!" ...I found the racist color swatches that got pretty close to yellow and I ignorantly changed her skin tone to that.

So! Now her skin tone is closer to canon's and I've decided anything about her heritage isn't something I'll tackle in my rewrite/au since I'm not qualified. I still have some things I've changed so she looks similar to both parents, but no more of that skin tone.

havent time to clean this up so!! mermaid melody redesign!! :33 i love mermaid melody to deff its on par with princess tutu for me in terms of favorite show of all time.

anyway, heres like, what i had going. When Luchia was younger, saved a boy from drowning, same stuff as the original only in my version, she gets reminded of this fact her ENTIRE LIFE! like this is a pretty big deal in the long run!! shes incredibly embarrassed by this and while she isn't exactly bullied for this...nobody lets her forget this. The Princess who gave her pearl to a human she barely even knew. It made her disinterested in humans due to the negative associations she has with them. Eventually, at 16, she decides to make an effort to retrieve it due to an omen from her auntie. She attends a local college in japan, the last time she recalled actually visiting the human world in search of the human boy. Unfortunately, she has no leads for several years but she does learn about human society more.

While Luchia isn't exactly eager about humans, that doesnt mean she can't style herself cutely! So I drew her with Japanese fashion in mind. I decided to make her actually have a red pearl yet she chooses to wear pink cuz she wants to! Shes also based off of northern pacific fish as well, i took into account common features between north pacific fish and applied that to her mermaid design.

She likes fashion and beauty alot!! :3

Eventually, when Luchia begins college, the towns lovely surfer boy finally comes back after spending some time in Hawaii, Kaito. Yet Luchia doesn't recognize him. I honestly tried re-designing Kaito but I just couldn't make him appealing enough, to me anyway.

With how I've designed Luchia, I feel like she wouldn't actually really be interested in dating, especially with danger on the horizon. But! I am to ideas lol. I kinda cooked alot but its mainly cuz i love mermaid melody sm :3

I’m now experimenting with making fake animation cels, because I always wanted to try it for years (I have the materials now for the most part!)

so I took a recently doodled redesign based off of a fake Pokémon I used to draw when I was a child from my sketchbook made last week or so and decided that I wanted to use it as one of my first attempts to color on an actual transparent cel using acrylic ink and paint, and this is the result lmao

This one was just a sample/ test run

I wanna keep doing fake cels but of recent characters soon (instead of silly made up Pokémon like this from when I was little)

I just needed something to work with for now!

decided to redesign my librarians a little bit and think what they would do if they get out of the library...they're so fun (the last guy isn't a librarian but he was so ugly i had to fully redesign him) i don't remember if those librarians were custom made or not (except i certainly remember that the first one wasn't) but uyhhuhuh yeah

in-game and pre-L corp sketches i made...2 years...ago...

each one separately with some lore under cut,..,.,.,.,.,,,

galina(she/her) before L corp had a funny case of being an urban legend just bc she killed people with her poems as an experiment a lot. yep. she can kill people by mentioning them in her poems and that's how she ended up parentless and went emo. but then not long after trying to stop being emo she got into L corp. where she kinda managed to try and be normal. doesn't write stuff much after her legend-retirement, but she's okay. (her lore is goofy but i like it and im leaving it that way)

after the library she became a fixer with narae, another librarian she got really close to.

narae(she/her) used to be a 6 grade fixer with her brother, mckenna, and sullivan, their good pal, who had a little brother that he also brought to office quite a lot. the siblings got tired and retired from being fixers and then boom they got invited to work at L corp. and they decided why not. mckenna died, but narae managed to restore from this in the library times.

as someone who actually knows how offices work, she started an office with galina, going back to business. sullivan's brother, tim, also ended up as a librarian after narae asked really nicely to unbook that random index proselyte. no-one knows where sullivan is, he just went missing one day and tim got into some bad influence. but tim probably also joined their new office, he wanted to become a fixer like his brother before.

'rittany(she/her) used to be a member of a funky syndicate. wasn't really enjoying her life there. she was almost killed in her childhood and saved by the green daze, who knew people who really wanted a child so kinda gave them her and they went along with it happily. she was trying to repay them all those years of care out of her own desire but ended up working for a shitty syndicate and got a little lost on what she's doing. then got a job offer from L corp and gladly changed her job.

she never was that good at violence, and didn't enjoy seeing such... i think after the library she ended up working at the flower shop and slowly getting some cash to go back to the district, the street, the house she used to live in, to see if her family is still there, see if they're okay.

orion, or the green daze(he/him) is just. a guy. literally. just a colour fixer bc i really wanted to have fun designing a colour fixer and that's it. he's a silly gooper with a kind heart but no actual sense of responsibility. saved a child and gave it away and disappeared. that's him. the guy. i just like roasting him for no actual reason i need to give him lore... but at least new design is cool!! the old one was so random lol.

(im very happy about giving him this new eye colour for betelgeuse, orion's alpha, being a red supergiant, and a silver(bluish) clip on his scarf-bandana-idk-thing with a dog for sirius(bc canis major is considered orion's dog), and changing skin tone was a great decision because making most characters white is very boring as it turns out and also his slight outfit style change makes me RAWARRHGRHG really cool one)

i wonder if he's alive...and what he's up to if he is...

Here's another of my OC. I was going to make a super cool battle illustration with super cool effects and super cool lighting and I gave up almost instantly lol. SHE HAS NO WRISTS!!

This is one I made for Drawfest 2, like, 2 years ago now, I think. I thought it was coming along kinda nice except I couldn't get the perspective to look right so my character ended up looking huge lmao.

Here's ANOTHER of my OC. This one is really old lol. I've redesigned her now and I don't use this shading style anymore, so I retired this profile picture really early on.

Ok, last one of this OC. This was going to be one of many sprites that I was making to use in videos and stuff, but I, once again, lost my motivation hehe. Looks REALLY bad tho so idc.

Pico jumpscare I got really into Pico's school way back when and never saw any fanart for his death screen. So I wanted to try my hand at it. Got through the lineart before I decided I didn't like it and was not skilled enough to salvage it so I gave up. Might redraw this in the future though!

This was going to be a picture of Gregory and Freddy from FNaF Security Breach (made this around the time the game came out), but I quickly realized I couldn't draw animatronics and quit lol. You can kinda see the stripe on Gregory's shirt, but my sketching abilities back then were awful so it's a little hard.

This bean is a character from To Your Eternity, an anime I randomly found on Netflix once and fell in love with (I quit at the weird scene in the prison tho, remind me to finish it). HE WAS SO CUTE I JUST HAD TO DRAW HIM <3 Also this isn't the ball, this is the boy. I just didn't get to his eyes.

MULTIFANDOM IDEAAAAA

So me and my sister were talking a few years ago, and I think one of us misspoke and said "Coffee shot" instead of "Coffee shop," so this AU was born.

It's a coffee shop called the Coffee Shot staffed by characters that love guns and have guns and shoot guns and I love them. The shop is frequented by characters from other franchises (in this case Danganronpa), and it's got the best coffee and the best theming you've ever seen >:)

This one was based on Pinterest lol. I have boards for both of these franchises, but they kept wanting to save these two characters to each other's boards lol. SO I wanted to make a style swap with them! Didn't end up finishing it, though, but I do want to come back to it!

And then this one is of the same two characters but based on a fanfic I read once. It was a Beauty and the Beast one. It was really fun to read. I liked it. It's on Wattpad if you're interested. I quit on this picture really quick tho. Made the sketch on Photoshop 2 years ago, transferred the sketch to FireAlpaca, then realized the sketch sucked and didn't bother trying again.

Let this be a lesson that not all of your pictures are going to go the way you want to. Your sketches are going to be messy, your lineart isn't going to match up, your colors are going to look funky, and your shading is going to want to make you rip out your hair sometimes.

I think what's important is to make sure that all that stuff doesn't discourage you.

If you give up all together, you'll never know what you'd've been able to produce if you hadn't.

If a picture isn't working for you, find out why. Then quit that picture, practice, and come back. You'll be able to compare yourself to your own art instead of other people's, which will give you a clearer sense of how far you've come.

Might be an odd question, and I'm sorry if it's already been asked, but how did you come up with your fursona?

Not odd at all!! But it's a long story hahah I gotta start from the very absolute beginning. Minor warning for a mention of animal death.

So the first one was an orange and white cat with an olive green trench coat, glowing neon green eyes, a red bandanna (pirate-style, not ninja-style), and they had 7 stripes on their tail. They happened sort of on accident because I was actually 12 years old and couldn't draw humans in a way I was satisfied with and just drew people with cat heads instead. Idk where I got that idea from, probably Thundercats or Swat Katz or something lol. Eventually this character evolved from being based on my actual cat, Toby, to being a character I used to represent myself, 7oby. This fursona is what I refer to as 7oby v.1. They had a sword too, Excalon, that made a blade of frozen ice that was powered by the radiation that my fursona absorbed. I wanted to write a comic with them at once point and had a whole setting and cast fleshed out but this was right around when I entered a very dark period and self-criticism kept it from ever happening.

Unfortunately, Toby, the cat 7oby v.1 was based on, passed away in early 2013. I was really close to this cat, we'd been through a lot together. Around this time I was kind of falling out with the idea of having a fursona too and Toby's death made drawing 7oby v.1 feel... depressing. I tried mixing up their design a little around this time and decided it would be best to just retire them entirely.

This led to 7oby v.2, which was an android with a powerplug tail and 4 motorcycle exhaust pipes on his head lol. I was going through a lot of identity changes around this time (2013-2014) and had a falling out with a friend where they called me a robot and I got a little spiteful about it. I still kind of like 7oby v.2's design but he was a pain in the ass to draw. He didn't last long.

In 2015 I started missing having an actual fursona. I'd gotten a little back into the fandom and having a fuzzy guy I could draw hanging out with my friends' fuzzy guys is a lot of fun. But I needed to design a fuzzy guy again. I didn't know what species to go with and I didn't want to go with a house cat again so I asked my biologist friend for ideas and he suggested a spotted hyena. This was around the time I started realizing I was probably trans so I thought female hyena biology was especially humorous. 7oby v.3 was to be a hyena.

7oby v.3 has gone through a lot of changes haha

7oby v.3 from 2015 through 2017 was just a normal spotted hyena.

From 2018 on he had a robotic endoskeleton like a Terminator and could also make super heated holographic claws and stuff.

In early 2019 I got REALLY into Legend of Zelda and Ganondorf and was like "7oby v.3 is going to be a hyena/boar hybrid now." He still had the Terminator skeleton and laser hands but now he had tusks too. I think this was around the time I gave him lightning/fire magic and decided to combine him with my art mascot, the Somnivagrant, too. Somni's a genderless, amorphous, eyeless, dream demon. It kind of looks like a white dog/wolf and has a sun orb between its ears. The Somnivagrant hitches a ride on my fursona (like a ghost) for fun.

2021 7oby v.3 (the last redesign I've done) is pretty much the same as 2019 but I cleaned up his general anatomy a little and brought back 7oby v.1's Excalon as a giant laser gunsword. Of course.

I think v.3 has gone through more changes than the other two because I've also changed an incredible amount between 2015 to now, but I think, too, that on some level I just don't entirely vibe with v.3. Like v.1 was absolutely me, v.2 was honestly just a stepping stone, and v.3's just kinda... I dunno. I think it might be time for v.4.

tell me about miles and anthony !! anything about their personality or character or backstories? are they shipped w any character(s)? how’d you come up with their designs / teams?

Oh boy! *rubs hands together*

Miles:

Personality wise he is very peppy and cheerful. He also easily worries about people, especially kids and teens.

He was born and raised in Ryme city. His parents divorced when he was little and hasn't heard from him until he was 18 when he heard his father passed away, that's also how he learned that he had 3 younger siblings. They had no other family but him so he decided to become their guardian. He decided that becoming champion and moving somewhere else for a fresh start would be the best for them.

His team:

Miles went through a lot of redesigns and personality changes until I settled with how he is now.

He uses pretty much only pokemon that are pink. His trainer class is pink enthusiast and his favorite color is pink as well!

His design:

I wanted him to look as cute and simple as possible. So I kinda came up with that.

His second design will make happen later.

Yes, lol. He is bi and will end up in a poly relationship with Cal, Taka, Saphira and Ace

In order he'll get with Cal first, then Taka and Ace and as last with Saphira. Their will be a lot of flirting during the main game portion but the romance won't develop until the postgame portion.

He chooses stuff based on his emotions rather than whether his a good idea or not for the most part.

Anthony (His backstory is copied and pasted this from another post, lol):

Anthony barely speaks and people think he's mysterious and cool because of it when really it's because he's nervous he'll mess his sentence up. He is what he considers a perfect mix and laid back and serious. Getting badmouthed doesn't really bother him at all, but he does tend to snap at people talking bad about those he cares about. Anthony is often seen as violent due to his looks and sometimes death glare but really he isn't, it doesn't also help his case took self defense classes and used it to knock out a guy that was bother a friend of his once.

He was born in Oblivia and lived there his whole life, but during his childhood he would often travel with his father to reborn. His father was following some sort of religion there, he didn't know why or what he was doing or why he had to join in sometimes but he made some friends named Taka, Lukah, Ace and some others there so he didn't mind. One day he stopped going together with his father, the only reason he was told why is because his mother didn't want them to go there anymore. Years later, his father asked if he remembered the times he went to reborn, when Anthony confirmed he did his father asked him to travel there. He didn't ask him to join them again. just to see how they were doing, he insisted joining the league that was happening there. So he went.

More stuff I didn't say before:

His mother past away recently and although won't be mentioned to often they seem to have a healthy relationship

When he was younger Taka and the others would tease him for being really weak when he insisted he was strong, so when he got older he worked out a lot and got buff.

His team:

He prefers normal and fairy types. Normal because he really liked El as a kid and kinda took that over, fairy because he just likes them. However he doesn't JUST use those types, he'll use any he thinks is strong and cool. They're all also shiny for no other reason then I think it fits them.

His design:

He only had one redesign but it wasn't to major.

His outfit is very Arceus inspired in both his outfits. The back of his jackets have also an Arceus logo on it. In his second design he wears his father's old jacket.

He really loves jumpsuits, it's most of his wardrobe.

He was just supposed to be with Taka, ...but I love Cal so much he gets with those two. First with Taka then with Cal

During his story he will often have (day)dreams about talking with someone who he believed is Arceus.

CisLunar DevLog #4: Ginga

Aiyetoro Madzimoyo III

Another instalment of development posts is here! Today we are going to be discussion the last side character of the group--Prince Ginga Aiyetoro Madzimoyo III. Out of all of the characters, his design had the least amount of drastic changes. I refined some of the details of his character and his style.

His design stems from a doodle session I had on 4/1/22--I only know the date because I actually dated these doodles lol. As you can see, he was always thought of to be princely, but was originally just going to be a subject for a painting and never used again. It was when I decided to make CisLunar a bigger story that I thought of including him in. The idea of three shady individuals (Lunar, BonBon, and Champs) happily socializing with an extremely high ranking person intrigued me so Ginga was added along with his status.

Even at this stage, I had already given him the name Ginga. I off and on study Japanese and one of my favorite words is ginga, which means galaxy (and I believe it is used for the Milky Way as well but don't quote me on that). I just like the phonetic sounds of it. However, I wanted a strong African influence to him as well. To make a long story short, in my younger years of creating I've been embarrassed and made fun of writing things about my race. It's only in my 20s that I started finally reclaiming that part of me and embracing writing/drawing black characters. With that being said, I wanted his middle and last name to be African to tie him to the culture. Plus like afrofuturism is really cool and I wanted to dabble in creating in that genre. This is where we get his middle and last name: Aiyetoro (Nigerian meaning peace of earth) and Madzimoyo (meaning nourished by water; unfortunately I couldn't find specifically where this name originates within Africa).

He's also the 3rd because I like giving my royalty character suffixes like that.

Another thing Ginga always has is his horn. I've always found horns very magical and mystical and as the Prince of the Cosmos, I imagine Ginga to be a very magical guy lol

Ginga also has human ears. When I set him in this animal appendaged world, I didn't realize that he is the only one in the cast (outside of Cis the Parasite) that has human ears. So I came with an answer as to why: cause he's magical.

At this point, I made him BonBon's boyfriend because I thought it would be cute to have 2 couples in the story. Plus there's an opposites attract thing and I like that trope. It's my story and I get to do whatever I want lolol

Another thing was him being a run away from home for very dire reasons. I'm very poor at writing action stories, so I scratched that out. He still leaves home a lot, but now its because he won't be ruling for a long time so he's just living his life lol. I also went back and forth on his eye color. I finally settled on blue as I liked the contrast against his skin.

As I continued drawing him, a new thing started happening--I began giving him what I can only call a lizard like smile. I did it once for some reason, but I just thought he looked cute with it. So Ginga also has a little reptilian in him as well because, you know, magic. I like to think his birth is peculiar because he's ruling over the stars you know? You kinda have to have a lot things happening to rule over several planets and galaxies. At this stage in his design however, I was already ready to change some things about him. His color scheme matched with Champs, and while they are foils, I didn't want them to wear the same exact colors. I also didn't like that I didn't really try to make his royal attire look regal. So when I started redesigning everyone, I jumped at the chance to make my prince look princely.

Which brings us to our first final sketch! I based his attire based on traditional Nigerian clothing. I made the sleeves a bit puffier to add the grandeur along with a flowy sash. As you can tell, I switch colors around. It was originally orange! I'm very aware that I like using cool colors with a lot of my drawings because I favor them, and I was going to use warmer tones to add some more brightness to the group. However, the orange didn't feel like Ginga to me so I changed it to this really lovely turquoise. in this sketch I loosely mapped out where all of his embroidery and detailing is, but when I do more detailed art I'll add it in. I'm very happy with this! I wanted it to be very special but also easy enough for me to do over and over again. But we don't stop there with Ginga. He wouldn't always hang out with his underworld pals in his robes, plus he needs to blend in or else crowds will follow him. So he has two designs!

And surprise! The pearls are a headdress he wears! I made this decision before writing this post actually! For the longest time, the pearls were actually his hair, because magic, but when I sketching out his casual outfit, I really liked him without the pearls. So headdress it is!

Speaking of his outfit, I decided to base it off of some Japanese street styles I saw pics of on pinterest. Ginga is an aquatic type of alien, and I like to think his kinds needs to have some coverage to keep from drying out. I also see him as the type of guy who dresses the complete opposite of how he has to dress while attending royal things. The color scheme came about because we were missing some pastel colors in the lineup, and I think pastels show a sense of peace, calm, and naive cuteness to a character which describes Ginga to a tee. His headphones are from his magic, by the way!

Whoo! We did it! The characters for this part of the stream lore (yes there are more parts planned) are complete!

It may be a little while until the next dev log as I need to make things for it, but it will probably be about some of the artists I created that plays on Cosmic Canary radio! I'm going to actually spend some time working on one now. Here's a preliminary sketch as a teaser~

Yay we got Frisk =)

Anyways, as said in Chara's post, they're Chara's grandchild, and no, Chara did not procreate. They made a baby with asexual reproduction because they could. Don't ask me why.

The reason Frisk is so short is because they're only six or seven in this (they're very smart for a six/seven year old. Source: trust me bro)

Their mother was left Chara's locket from the Underground but Frisk's mother died for...reasons...so Frisk got it. Now for the tattoo thingy on the wrist... (this is a long explanation and has a lot of lore stuff jsyk)

Basically, while Underground Chara heard of the Delta Rune prophecy and thought it must be for them. They'd make the Underground go empty one day...but not for reasons expected. They believed the humans had a reason for trapping monsters Underground so they decided they were gonna fulfill the prophecy...by killing the whole Underground. They had to flee and so they wanted their child to take after it but since Frisk's mother (idk what to call them, Frara? Chisk? Idk, but they look like the cursed thing that you get when merging Chara and Frisk's sprites from the original game) died, it's now Frisk's mission and to remind them, Chara basically just branded them with the Delta Rune. Yes, branding, Chara is just a wee bit evil in this AU (I'm a firm Chara supporter in the original game but this AU has the fanon Chara lol) to say the least.

This Frisk is enby and goes by they/them, similar to the original game.

The next one will be the first OC since Sans, Papyrus, and the rest of them reside in different parts of the Underground or, in Toriel's case, are dead. Undyne and Alphys will still exist though and have a minor role on the lore and stuff, mainly as support for lore but probably never seen but might make their redesign.

Fun fact: they're an elf too. For those who didn't see Chara's post, elves are what happens when a human and monster has a child (or an elf and a monster or elf have a child. Or if a child just pops into existence from an elf like what happened with Frisk and their mother) and have some DT and limited magic. They have lighter versions of human souls unless they're really lucky and end up with a rare soul condition where they produce much more DT than they should (which Undyne has in my AU). Since elves aren't made of magic like monsters, they only get stronger magic and more durability/HP (this Frisk has 30 HP on LOVE 1 BUT more monsters are combat trained so they're stronger to even it out)

Frisk gains more spells when increasing the LOVE or love stat (which are different and deserve their own post, but LOVE is still Levels of Violence but love is levels of empathy [LOVE skips the E so love skips the v] and love is gained from sparing but LOVE is gained the noemal way) and start with a healing one (heals 5 HP) that has complex needs that also needs its own post but yeah. Chara's main magic is summoning very powerful knives (aka the Real Knife from the geno route but magicified)

My problem with the fashion in miraculous.

Part 1 Marinette.

This is going to be a long rant on why I don’t like the fashion in miraculous, which seems very negative but it’s probably just me over analyzing everything.

In 2015 Miraculous: tales of ladybug and chat noir was released, at the time there were already other rivaling cartoons (such as Star vs the forces of evil, Steven Universe and Gravity falls being the most popular ones) What made Miraculous stand out from other cartoons that were aimed for kids/preteens was the 3D animation, this made the show quite popular, especially since Disney's new 3D animated films such as Frozen, Tangled and Big Hero Six was quite popular especially on tumblr (because of the re-colours and redesigns of Rapunzel/Elsa and whoever else into a hipster or some other god awful fashion trend from 2010-2016)

Miraculous is STILL airing today meaning that when I was in grade 6 I was watching it, now I'm in my last year of highschool and we are finally seeing development in the show (sorry) however we have not seen any character changes in clothing which I know we don't see much but I feel as if Marinette wears the same 4 outfits and I WOULD LOVE to see a storyline where Marinette is maturing and decides to change her hairstyle and her clothing choices.

Lets analyse Marinette's everyday outfit.

Marinette wears a white singlet top(tank top?) with a black outline/trim, on the singlet top we see a flower design that appears to be a cherry blossom or lotus. Over the top of the shirt she wears a dark grey blazer jacket with a white inside with pink polka dots, she sports this same material but inverted so it is pink with white dots on her purse. For the bottoms she wears hot pink jeans which appear to have the same polka dot pattern on the cuffs as the jacket she wears, the jeans also have some weird ripped/line structure too them which has been added with a white stitching. She wears baby pink ballet flats with a slight heel and black lining and a bow.

I don’t really like this outfit, it’s very boring and I think that Marinette being an aspiring fashion designer would wear something bold that shows off her skills and her own personal style. I also believe that Marinette would be on trend, while being ladybug could potentially leave her with not enough time to come up with new designs, I think it would be a good concept for Marinette to be wearing a new design once in a while. (Even though I know it will be the same polka dot,baby pink, flower fabric that marinette seems to have 10000 yards of.)

For example, in Gravity Falls Mable would wear a different sweater each episode (don’t quote me on that I could be wrong)

Mabel wore the same structure of outfit each episode yes, but it was new each time. And while I wouldn’t consider this the height of fashion, it suits Mabels personality and shows that she is different from the other characters who wear the same outfit every episode.

SPOILERS FOR GRAVITY FALLS

Mabels constant changing of sweaters shows the chaos of her character, you never know what to expect with her, which is why she played a vital role in Bills plan, she was unpredictable and let her ego and own happiness succumb to her chaotic actions.

This would be an easy concept to implement into miraculous and would fit with the context, perhaps Marinette would make a new piece of clothing to wear each episode, it could start off with smaller accessories that slowly develop into larger pieces. If Marinette is sad, it could reflect in the item she chooses to make.

However that isn’t the main problem of the outfits, my problem is that I hate them, I’m not judging you if you like them in any way,shape or form, but personally I cannot see a normal teenager wearing these outfits, there is only few characters whose outfits actually make sense.

For example, Marinettes outfit feels more mature, as if she is working in an office, this does not fit her character at all, and while the colours are bright, the structure and presentation of the pieces gives off the boring dull feeling of working in an office and makes her look much older.

Now here is what I would’ve liked Marinette to wear each season. (considering the dates of releases)

Season 1 2015

In season one we are introduced to Marinette, considering Marinettes age 13. Bare with me, I understand these years are arguably the worst for fashion.

The reason why I picked this outfit is because it reminds me of Marinette, Taking inspiration from 2015 trends, we see Marinette following basic trends such as off the shoulder and denim materials, however, I believe she would add her own style by adding the polka dot pattern to the inside of the jacket (like her original blazer) and the skirt. This look is generally what I would consider to be basic Marinette, she could wear this throughout each season since it is a outfit that could fit into any time frame (2000s-2020) with a few alterations.

Season 2 2016.

2016 was also not a good year for fashion but oh well I digress. This season we get to meet new characters, including new miraculous wielders and love interest. This is also when we get a Marinette birthday episode shower her growth symbolically or whatever.

I decided to add ‘edge’ to this outfit, since we do see Marinette get hurt in a few episodes and struggle with having to choose the right people to wield a miraculous. on the left, I chose a bomber jacket since they were incredibly popular at the time, and dark heels to show Marinettes change, however underneath she wears bright pink jeans and a white turtleneck, this is to show that she is still soft and caring.

Season 3 2019.

this is where it gets much better since the trends and fashion were actually really good this year. We see a lot of important points in this season, we get backstory about characters, learn more about the Miraculous lore, AND we see Marinette be very mature and put Adrien and Kagamis happiness over her own.

This is how I think Marinette would dress and yes they are 4 very different styles, but I think that she would want to show variety not only in her work as a designer, but also as a person, Marinette wants to grow.

Anyways that’s all for now, yes this post is very much all over the place and I start point and leave them without conclusion, but it was fun for me.

EDIT: in my research I decided to change my idea lol, Marinette doesn’t wear the item she makes because it’s too expensive to have a character wear a new outfit each episode, but instead we just see her making a new item.

Since APPARENTLY I did the designs all wrong (I won’t lie - doing  my own design of Evangelia was sort of a thinly veiled attempted to get @callistochan87 to redesign her herself.  >.>), I figured I’d make it my life mission this week to go through and, like, fix them.  Partially because in my fuming about finding out that two of the people were talking about this behind my back, I kept giving myself ideas.  >.<

I am pleasantly pleased with the design that @callistochan87 did for Evania/Evangelia, although I’m worried how much is actually influenced by my design and how much she actually decided to do on her own.  *shrug*  I just like the simplicity of it and how it does make her look like a goddess.  I kept forgetting to add in the pieces in front of her ears, lol.

Antigonus I did fiddle with a little bit.  Mostly, @callistochan87 mentioned that she thought it was funny having this super old guy traveling with a bunch of teenagers, and she wondered why I didn’t just...make someone new.  Well, mostly because I didn’t want to, and mostly because when she did create someone new when I decided the Guides were supposed to be younger, it felt...wrong. 

SO, I decided to age him down a little.  Which I suppose sort of defeats the purpose of @callistochan87 creating another character when I wanted to do the same, but ignore that.  He basically has the same backstory - he was the youngest Guide of the previous generation.  He’s the heir of the empire, being the Emperor’s nephew, and now that his Guide duties are over, he’s preparing to take over the Empire.  EXCEPT, the idiot new Guide managed to get himself killed, so Antigonus is temporarily taking over the duties as they try to find someone else to take over.  BUT THEN GUESS WHAT?  He’s about 35, so while he’s old, he’s not stupidly older than than, and is sort of more of a chaperone than anything else.

His outfit come from an old one @callistochan87 designed, and I figure it’s just, like, a traveling outfit?  idk

Freyja...omg, Freyja.  She caused most of my strife.  Like, I honestly didn’t change THAT MUCH of her design, just sort of little piddly stuff to make it look more visually appealing, but APPARENTLY, that was still bad.  I stewed and hemmed and hawed on this for quite a while, annoyed before it hit me - this is a a redesign.  Shizuka sort of went back to her roots.  Why couldn’t Freyja as well?

(And yes, I realize I was in the wrong, but like I said, I hadn’t changed her that much from her last design, and, well, these were done years ago so I sort of...forgot that she didn’t originally look like that.  >.<)

And I figured, ya know, since I had minorly changed Freyja and she didn’t like that, I had better change Desiree, too, because I drastically changed her.  I don’t care what @swankifiedcos says about this one, I am IN LOVE with her outfit.  <3  Her hair, though, was inspired by a recent picture of @swankifiedcos of her hair between dye jobs where it was pink at the tips and she looked SO PRETTY.  Sure, Desiree is brunette, not blond, but I like that look on her so much I wanted to recreate it somewhat, and she looks so nice! 

Frejya, well, I did sort of tweek her design slightly to what @callistochan87 did, mostly giving her cold shoulder sleeves as a sort of call back to her old sleeves.  I won’t lie - I did attempt to do them again and failed spectacularly.  Sorry.  But apparently she approves of this sleeve, so that’s...one less problem for me to deal with.  XD   Just so you know, I gave her hearts rather than flowers merely because I can’t draw flowers.  Consider it a style thing.  Like, in reality, she has flowers, but i just draw them as hearts.  I am SHOCKED that I was able to make the feathers as nice as I did, though!  This look makes SO MUCH more sense than the way we used to draw it.  Me likely. 

(Also, you might be thinking that she’s still wearing the pants.  I originally indended that, with the thought that she comes from a cold kindgom, but then decided they’re actually shorts that she ended up added to her outfit for modesty sake, much like Sethos did with his shirt.  :P)

I really wanted to redo Nannin’s outfit as well, but I’m sorry - I’m lazy, and her original outfit is both too detailed and too simple.  So I just made her top layer a darker pink, and I like it better.  Also made her a blond again with the idea that the people of Melohdia like like normal ass humans, and the Chosen have colored hair, and the Guides have unnatural colored eyes, which is how people can tell they’re Guides.

Geoffrey (I’m thinking of renaming him Geauffery, because that’s how I prenounce it in my head) over there gets a new design as well because I didn’t care for his other one.  >.<  Also, decided, as much as I like the name Dimitri Kaminiski, I;m going to go ahead and make him Owen again.  Mostly because he’s sort of shifted more into being Owen.  I was sort of going with this old look while making it look a little more medieval, and I like it.  I also decided he’s not a soothsayer, but rather a magician.mage.

Which is sort of similar to Evangelia’s power, but not quite.  She uses the power of miracles, whereas he uses actual magic.  Its sort of like how Shizuka and Freyja’s power is similar, but Frejya’s is a little weaker.  (Shizuka has mastery over all weapons, whereas Freyja just has mastery over bludgeoning people with a huge ass axe.  But she has the benefit of also having  magic, whereas Shizuka can just use some fire magic.)

The next design is where it get all long and involved.  Basically as I was stewing about having my feelings hurt and how I was going to hide everything in my annoyance, I THINK I was briefly reminded of the last time I screwed up and within that instance a brilliant idea came to me, mostly because I needed more villains.  

I remember I really like Astrid’s design, but looking back, I’m sort of confused as to why?  It doesn’t look at all better than Freyja’s.  >.<  Anyway, the thought is simple - when the Chosen are originally yanked into Melohdia, Nuncio replaces one of them with one of his own that would be easily manipulated.  Why Freyja, you ask?  Plot reasons, since it does help explain the whole Nannin thing a lot better.  The thing is, though, that Ariadne and Atalo sort of find out and drag Freyja in as well, except she ends up in Baldernan rather than Azibo with the rest of the Chosen.

So the Chosen are in Azibo thinking Astrid is one of them, except they don’t really vibe with her that well.  They just figure it’s because they can’t like everyone, and ignore it.  Astrid herself doesn’t really suspect anything.  But then they travel to Baldurnan and find Freyja there, who they do vibe with very well, and they find out that Astrid is a fake. 

Which would be all fine and well.  Even Freyja’s willing to give the girl a chance because, hey, it’s not her fault she was falsely brought into this world with no purpose.  Except Astrid is a spoiled bitch and takes it as an affront that they would even want to include Freyja at all.  So she just sort of runs off and Nuncio catches up to her, and convinces her that she’s the real one, and and she goes around antagonizing the group from time to time.  They think she’s in league with Atalo at first until they find out of the truth.

NEW IDEA.  I actually had this very vague idea while musing around, but @callistochan87 had another idea that was similar enough that I can change things to make it work WAY better.  So, the new idea is mostly that Nuncio pulls Astrid into Melohdia way before the others.  The people are rather confused, certainly, but it’s not 100% unheard of one Chosen being brought over.  So she’s treated like something of a god and spoiled further, and Nuncio pretty much convinces her that she’s the soul savior of Melohdia. He assigns Thor to be her Guide, although he’s just some Random Dude (because I decided that matching genders to the Chosen is sort of weird, so Nannin is a full Guide now).

BUT Ariadne and Atalo end up pulling the REAL Chosen a month or so later, which REALLY pull the people for a loop, and they realize that Astrid is a fake once they realize that Thor isn’t a real Guide and that Nannin claims Freyja.  The group attempts to assimilate Astrid in with them, because they realize it’s not HER fault all this happened, but since she’s a fake Chosen AND a narcissistic bitch, they end up not viving all that well, and she ends up running away in anger and embarrassment.

Nuncio sort of blames the whole thing on Atalo somehow, since the people forgot that Ariadne is the only one who can pull true Chosen into the world, mostly to save face.

Astrid and Thor do end up joining with Atalo for a little bit, because he’s trying to be sympathetic to her as well, but their goals aren’t really the same.  She does prove to be a major threat to the group because she DOES have the power of a Chosen, although they’re sort of weak.  

Her real name is Katelyn Davis, and she’s pretty much the opposite of the other Chosen.  She’s a complete social butterfly, the sort to think the world revolves around her.  She’s not happy unless she’s around people, whereas the other Chosen are pretty much introverted and would prefer to keep to themselves. 

Her Guide’s name is Thor (I keep calling him that in my head, I think because of Frejya being named after a god), and he is, in fact, a true Guide.  It’s just that he’s not a very good one, nor is he a good person.  He’s a bandit and delights in the misfortunes of others.  The other Guides avoided him at all costs, and wasn’t sure why he was chosen to be a Guide.  He goes off with Astrid after they kick him out of the group when Freyja chooses Nannin over him.  (The two of them became close in the month Frejya was stuck there on her own, so of course she’d want to have her stay with her.)

The last picture was just me giving them their original hair colors just for the hell of it, and now I’m torn.  >.<  Because I like these as well.  I mean, I like the idea of the colored hair being how you can tell they’re the Chosen, BUT I also, you know, like the original colors BECAUSE they are the original colors.  >.<

Most of you don’t know, but robots are a big thing in Old Blood. The reason you don’t know this is because I never paint them. And I never paint them because up until recently I didn’t practice designing robots at all. But in the last few weeks I sketched some robots that I really liked, so I decided it’s finally time to paint one.

My main goal with this painting was to show the scale of the robot. I’m currently working on my portfolio for uni, and I didn’t have any paintings in an urban setting. I wanted to show that I’m able to do them. In reality, I made a 3d model of the sewers, because I’m horrible at measuring perspectives (I actually messed up in the painting itself even though I had the model but it’s behind the robot so it’s fine)

I really like how this turned out! The painting process itself took only 6 days (for 5 days I worked about 5 hours and today I worked 1, so about 16 hours total!) so it felt really fast, but I also redesigned Eivrun, her guns (which I haven't drawn in like 3 years) and the sewage system (which was inspired by the storm drains in Saitama, Japan) so it took 2 weeks to prepare.

I’ll post Eivrun’s character sheet and her guns and I’ll talk about them more there.

I’m also considering opening an Instagram? Mostly bc I had 130 followers and after all the bots were banned it dropped to 67, which after posting here for almost 5 years... is a bit demoralizing lol. I never really posted here to get famous or anything, but more than 6 likes would be nice...but I hate Instagram and Twitter lol

Ok hold on there Clyde. Been a fan for years, but I have some issues with your last answer. Do you think My hero is filled with white characters? They are Japanese. That was my point. Japanese media characters are overwhelming Japanese or meant to be Japanese in the case of fantasy stories. From manga, to anime to live action. Ichigo for example is not white, he's Japanese. Goku is well not white or Japanese. He's a made up race that is seen as Japanese by the main audience.

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. Sorry if that was confusing! I just mean that we have need for more diversity and that diversity is going to mean something different for each culture. The need for representation isn't just pit against white casts. As you say, the stories are overwhelmingly Japanese, but how is Japan being represented here? "Japanese" is not in-and-of-itself a homogenous term. What skin tones are represented? Are there any biracial characters? People of color? Adopted characters? etc.? The diversity that the U.S. needs is going to differ in many very significant ways from the diversity that Japan needs, but they're also going to overlap in some respects. One overlap is colorism and how no, certain stories may not be white in terms of their racial cast makeup, but they're predominantly light-skinned in a way that intersects with other diversity concerns. Going back to BNHA, we can ask not only why Rock Lee is the only (to my knowledge) dark-skinned character in an incredibly large cast - going back to that issue of fantasy and how the people with horns and tails don't need to look like irl Japan - but also why the anime's subtitles had his wife comment on genetics "going too far in one direction" when their child turned out dark-skinned like him, with large lips and textured hair, rather than light-skinned and blonde like her. There's an intersection there between Japanese and U.S. diversity concerns in the form of, "Why are certain physical traits seen as more desirable than others?"

And then throwing something like Witcher into the conversation complicates it all horrendously lol. The nuances attached to a Polish series with a popular American adaptation is a whole other thing, though with intersections of its own.

However, the complications of all of this aside, I don't think we can ignore any criticism minority fans might have with an acknowledgment that a range of people identity with these characters. Of course they do! We identify with characters for reasons far beyond their race and even if we didn't... what other option is there? That's the problem. There isn't enough diversity to just ignore the most common representations and still have enough media to enjoy life with. Sure, we can provide a list of stories that meet any individual's criteria, but how many texts is that list actually going to have? Of media that was received well? In genres the individual likes? Stuff people are talking about and developing sizable fandoms for? If someone in the U.S. said, "I want a beloved action film, but with a black lead" well, the list of Top 100 action films isn't really going to provide much and going, "But Black Panther!" doesn't fix the underlying problem. People loving white (or light-skinned, or male, or able-bodied, or straight, etc.) characters doesn't erase the need for more diversity in these industries. Fans can identify with/love characters like Goku and simultaneously want to see more dark-skinned/black/brown characters in their media. The question isn't whether Goku is a great character (he is), or whether fans love him as he is (we do), but rather why so many creators look at the fictional, alien species they created and decide that they need to look this particular way. It's never on one author to shoulder all the criticism, nor to personally fix the problem, but by repeating these trends they do become a part of that conversation of how we might do better.

And, to be frank, I'm only on the periphery of that conversation. I'm not Japanese, nor am I a person of color, so I apologize for any ignorance that's seeping through. What I do know though is that diversity of any sort isn't a one size fits all situation and what's one person's "I don't care" might be another's "I'm very passionate about this." People need different things from their stories and I don't think we should ignore those needs just because others don't share them. I remember back in the day there was a ton of HxH conversations about Canary's redesign for the 2011 anime. All these questions bouncing around the fandom: Is she black? Is she Japanese? Can't she be both? Isn't the redesign more respectful? Was the original whitewashed? Is the 1999 version a caricature? But it's closer to the manga, so it that a caricature? Is that just Togashi's art style? Does a faithful adaptation trump the discomfort that design caused? But not everyone had a problem with it, so who gets to decide when some in the fandom say they care and others say they don't? Obviously no one settled on clear cut answers, but the mere fact that there was such passion attached to these conversations demonstrates how important they are.

1. my friend @coolblankie talked about the series like a year ago i think? and we decided to watch it together during a uhh slumber party? i think they're called but i was super sleepy at 4 am and ee had one movie left still (we didn't watch the world race then tho), so we finished watching in the (later) morning, and i completely fell in love with it, especially the way everything falls into place in the final movie!!

4. favourite character is definitely shirako!! i just love his vibe, how chill he is, and the music he listens to is just *chef's kiss* kurt's one of my favourites as well. also i gotta admit that when we rewatched the series more recently, nolo became more dear to me as well c: and obviously taro is the highlight of the movies as well, he's just so cool

when it comes to characters i like the least, there's just one: tezla. in world race he's not so bad i guess, but the way he doesn't care about the drivers in acceleracers is just.. i don't like him

17. city driving is already there so.. maybe a desert? i know that world race had desert driving already but like it could have a good vibe i think. that, or just some world that's just colourful techno soundwaves but idk how they would have managed that but it's an idea for sure lol

WRITING MEMORIES

5.) The entire time I spent finishing my first (second?) longer writing project It was the year 2012 and it was a cyberpunk story about my friends’ and my edgy self inserts riding dinosaurs, fighting aliens and being badass. The plot twist in the end was that my character was secretly evil and wanted to kill everyone. (Things to show your therapist) The final boss fight made zero sense and also everything was incredibly weird and stupid. But sometimes I still think about those times when I sat in my grandma’s living room at night, eating chips and listening to Vocaloid covers while thinking this story was the coolest shit ever. Truly simpler times.

4.) Researching something about universities in Texas for OvF on a rainy Saturday afternoon I have no idea why this memory is still sticking with me to this day (I think it was around 2016 or something?), but I remember that it was just a really nice day and I felt really at peace at that moment?

3.) The entire writing process of Bathroom Blues It was such a spontaneous project and I still have no idea how I managed to power though it in just a little under two months! Also it was just incredibly fun seeing you getting excited over new drafts and I loved coming up with new plot points and Halloween costumes for everyone with you. :-D Truly a summer worth remembering.

2.) FINALLY uploading the prologue and intro chapter of WWBL Not really a writing memory, but that moment was … so sexy and magical. Seriously, you have no idea how long I had been waiting to finally start that story, waiting for the Steckbriefe to roll in and see people react to the prologue and generally the idea … I even made one of those countdown graphic thingies for the designated upload date! 8D At that point I had planned that story for about six months and just … yeah, that felt powerful to me.

1.) Writing the prologue for WWBL When I first started the draft for that prologue I was sitting at the window in my favourite hotel in Winterberg, Sauerland, wore my dark green flannel, had the window wide open breathing in the cool mountain air and allowed myself to listen to my WWBL playlist for the very first time. God, that felt so amazing. I even have a photo of it (which somehow makes it look like I have the biggest football shoulders in the universe) my sister took that night. God I miss Sauerland. )’:

5.) Vater Unser by E Nomine Starting off with some weird shit, won’t we? I’ve been in love with this song since fifth or sixth grade, when I was just starting to develop an actual music taste and although I have many favourite songs by E Nomine, this one has to be my absolute fave. Every time I can relate it to a character it makes me love said character even more. (Also I think about it every time my mom forces me to go to church for Christmas so … yay? I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even be able to remember the Vater Unser if it wasn’t for this song. 8D)

4.) Wires by The Neighbourhood I think this is the newest all-time fave on this list, I found it in … 2015? Thank you, Youtube AMVs. Yeah man, this one is just … on so many playlists it’s not even funny anymore.

3.) Heathens by Twenty One Pilots An edgelord classic but like … it’s on EVERY playlist of mine. Every single one. It’s just so good. The first time I heard it was on the radio tho, when I was having breakfast with Jessie and I forced her to shazam it because it immediately stuck with me,,,

2.) Imaginary by Evanescence My first Evanescence song ever and the first step towards becoming who I am today I think. This song has like … such a big history for me, man. It single-handedly turned me goth in 2008 and I have never really thanked it for that.

1.) Eternal by Evanescence Might be my favourite song of all time. The number of dramatic RP scenes I have written with this in the background … man. Oh, also this song is the reason for one of my oldest internet nicknames, ‘eternala’, which subsequently shortened into Etschuh and then Tschuh, my main nickname until 2017, when I came out as trans and finally found an actual name for myself I was comfortable with!

NON BLANK RUNE CHARACTERS

I know this was probably supposed to be about fandom characters but I can literally not come up with a single character right now that I love with a special burning passion and that is not my or one of my friends’ OCs so you’re getting OCs now. u_u And boy do I have a lot of those.

5.) Jackson Tracey from atroCITY (mine) This little piece of shit kept me company for a pretty long time and is still very close to my heart for some reason, although I haven’t drawn him or really thought about him in detail for a while now. My favourite thing is how I only realized what a horrible person he was after I stopped regularly working with him but honestly good for me. 8D His storyline and personality is kinda convoluted and tbh I’m not really sure how much of it is canon anyway (atrc was always a little weird about canon rip) but yeah. He’s an obsessive stalker piece of shit who pities himself way too much and he is also a semi-immortal demigod who likes knives. I hate him but he also helped me a lot with some gender and sexuality stuff so thanks I guess.

4.) Mayoko Imai from Century Riders DXPrototype (Maus’ and mine) Mayoko is a magical girl protagonist with a cool cyborg arm prosthetic and her main character trait was that she was basically a reverse weeaboo, a Japanese girl who was obsessed with American media, culture and comic book heroes! I actually love her concept a lot and she also had a pretty cool character arc in her story (which Maus and I wrote together and actually finished btw!), although it could use a lot more … polishing from today’s point of view. But I love her anyway. She always wanted to do the right thing and be a hero and got broken pretty cruelly and her ending is kinda bittersweet I guess? Ahh there’s just so much nuance to it … anyways, CR3 also stuck with me for a very long time and I enjoyed the time with her a lot. :3 (Her name had a cameo in Another Incident btw heehee)

3.) Tessa *insert extremely long chain of unnecessary first names here* von Lean from Nobody Is Perfect and Infernal Temptation (belongs to one of my old school friends) Tessa is just … a hand full. I love to hate her. She is badly written and developed and just OOZES mentally ill teenage girl’s idealized self-insert power fantasy, but she just … man, she was a big part of one of my most drama-filled high school friendships which I love looking back at so much. Tessa has fucked so many of my characters … good for her tbh! There are actually two versions of her, one is just a ‘normal’ teenage girl and one can shapeshift into a cheetah, but both of them are very close to my heart. I should really adopt and redesign her some day.

2.) Judy Khayat from Original vs. Final (mine) Look, I love all my OvF-characters and every single one of them is special to me in their own way, but Judy is just … the most complex of them all I think? Man, she went through so much … she is actually one of my oldest (semi)-active characters (I created her in 2009) and her latest version is from 2016 but I should really, REALLY revise her again tbh. She has a very complicated backstory that I didn’t handle as carefully as I should have, and anger issues and religious conflict and depression and PTSD and then Vance of all people becomes obsessed with her for no reason and decides to traumatize her even more … yeah. God I really love her but I seriously need to work on her. A LOT. I should also finally rename her tbh … let’s just see where she takes me next.

1.) Okami (I don’t even remember if she has a proper last name rn lol) from Split Realm (mine) Yeah, that bitch is just my favourite OC. She’s also very old, probably from around 2009, and initially was a magical girl with fire powers who I played in an RP with my friend Flauch but boy did she grow up! Holy fuck. Okami is a horrible person but I love her so much. She is so violent and full of anger and pain and sadness and treats everyone around her like shit and she is in love and she is a demon but also apparently the personification of the concept of Chaos but she just wants to be a teenager again and run away with the love of her life and ahhh it’s all so hopeless for her … also she turned out gnc af with time passing and pretty much went through a gender/sexuality crisis in real time with me, her creator, which is always fun. :^D I haven’t drawn her in a while tbh. Should really do that.

5.) Jera Look. I know I’m boring and stupid. But I just love Tave and Liam having their disgusting little foreshadowing talk, okay? I can read it over and over. I just love my horrible little shit crime boys. Also Rhy and Phillip are there. (’:

4.) Isa This one is here because it was the first arc I witnessed in real time which gives it a very special place in my heart and it also … hit pretty hard at the time. But having read Fehu it’s become even better now! It’s just such a wonderful, tragic romance between two horrible, ruthless boys and I … I’m not immune to Rhy, sadly. :-/ Just like Phillip.

3.) Wunjo We still haven’t seen everything that leads up to Wunjo yet, but we DO know more than we did initially (wow shocker) and it’s just always a fucking blast. Also, it has the first mention of Ash’s real name … the first Rhy POV (which what the fuck!! I always feel like we had one before but we didn’t!! Wild) and it has crazy blood-soaked murder Tave, my beloved. :///3

2.) Eiwaz You guys have heard me fanboy about Eiwaz so many times already. Eiwaz-OT3 (and Kain) my beloved!!! It’s just SUCH an amazing starting point and there are so, so many things that tie back to it and every time we find out about a new one my heart makes a little jump … und es beginnt von Neuem indeed.

1.) Gebo One of the most painful but also the most beautiful arcs yet in my opinion. It’s been hyped up for so long and boy did it deliver. God, my heart still hurts when I think about that last scene. Also all the dialogue … the golden lines we got … and it’s an arc without Rhy! Crazy!! :-D I just love the relationship between Ash, Astrid and Jakob so much. God fuck I want what they have. Just maybe without the murder suicide,,,

4.) Chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese topping One of the first things from a certain baking book I tried when I was getting into baking back in 2019. God they are so tasty. I don’t make them often so I don’t get used to them too much and eating them still feels special but ahhhh I love them so much!

3.) Grünkohl mit Kartoffelbrei und Mettendchen One of my favourite things about autumn/winter and one of my biggest comfort foods. God I love this shit so much. I just put … mountains of Grünkohl and Kartoffelbrei on my plate every time and I will just warm it up for four days straight until there’s no more left. It turns me into a fucking caveman. I’m not even big on eating meat but … yeah. Everything is different when there’s Grünkohl.

2.) Normales Brötchen mit Butter und Scheibenkäse aber ich bin beim Frühstücksbuffet im Hotel Oddly specific but that’s just how it is. Sorry. Nichts geht über Brötchen mit Käse.

1.) Chilli-Knoblauch-Nudelauflauf My beloved. My comfort food. I eat it literally every second day. At least one hour in the kitchen every time. Fresh ingredients. My only vegetable intake. And I’ve been doing that for three years. I just love it so much, man. I cook it for everyone who visits me. Chilli-Knoblauch-Auflauf cured my depression.
