Belladonna Devotional Earrings (Sold Out)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On a whim , I decided to make and sell a couple pairs of Belladonna Devotional Earrings.
They were crafted in the likeness of Belladonna Berries using natural violet Pearls, silver-plated pewter bead-caps, and fine-silver wire hooks. They were, likewise, consecrated to the spirit of Poison Nightshade in a ritual where they were anointed with the juice of its berries and fumigated with the smoke of its burned flowers.
If interested in acquiring a pair, simply reach out here, or visit my webshop to purchase them directly!

I don’t know if it’s just the current economy or what, but I haven’t had any Shapeways sales (or customization/commissions requests) for a few months now and it is (was?) my only real way of generating any income of my own that I can do anything I want with. 😩 If you’ve had your eye on anything, send me a message over there and I’ll knock at least $5 off the price, excluding the travel jackal charms (but I will take $2.50 off them.)

Paper Bead Magic
So a week or so ago I got the idea of making paper beads and hiding sigils inside them. I figured I could combine sigil and knot magic to accomplish various things.
Tumblr media
Listen, I'm not a photographer, and I'm using a free phone that came with a prepaid plan, which really doesn't help.
It's easy enough to find tutorials online for paper beads, so I'm not going to make one, though I will put some tips I figured out under the cut at the end. I thought I'd mostly talk a bit about how you might use them.
This craft was largely inspired by the various uses of the many different types of prayer beads (I believe this is the umbrella term, but correct me if I'm wrong), but there are plenty of other things you could do with them.
Make them with sigils that correspond to your purpose and string them together with related knot spells, then:
hang the beads around your door(s), or wear them for protection
incorporate them into a pre-bed meditative ritual, then hang them over your bed before you go to sleep to help with lucid dreaming, remembering dreams, spirit communication, etc.
use them for trance work (repetition can be a great way to achieve a trance state)
make devotional jewelry for whatever deities you work with
use them like worry beads, for relaxation or to ease the urge to do addictive behaviors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things I learned through trial and error:
To get nice round beads I found that I needed pretty thick paper (I ended up painting bristol board with watercolors and metallic paint)
If you do use something as thick as bristol board, you will end up with white edges showing (assuming the paper is white), so consider painting them if that bothers you
Tutorials I read suggested sealing them with mod podge or similar glue. I ended up using glazing medium for extra shine, and because I already had some
This took much, MUCH longer than estimated in the tutorials -- be patient!

second attempt at nordic polytheism anon (what a name...) here again! i totally forgot to ask: do you have any recommendations on necklaces/jewelry that one can wear which isn't too obvious but still represents the faith? i'm from germany, so stuff like thor's hammer or runes are either frowned upon or straight up illegal (like the tiwaz rune for example... which is a shame bc i really like tyr, i think he could help me with my job where i have to decide over justice and injustice)
Welcome back! I’m so sorry to hear that you cannot wear Tiwaz in the name of Týr. I have a friend who considers him her primary deity, and who loves him dearly, and she would be devastated if she couldn’t wear his most prominent symbol. Same goes for me, as I’ve worn the same Mjöllnir pendant for nearly eight years, now. It could be possible for you to acquire one such pendant, made using a minimalistic design! I find that wooden ones are generally more discreet, as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the types of discreet designs I mean! You'll notice that the very last one to the right has a low-key Tiwaz carved onto it. Just in case you're curious, here are the artists to each of these: Hunterbone, KykvendiByK, Pagafanshop.
The same type of logic could also apply to a Tiwaz pendant, though I can't know for sure how far this ban on nordic symbols goes. It's also possible for you to browse for jewelry inspired by norse mythology, but that might not be as well-known, or which hasn't been co-opted by wh1te supremacist groups. In this sense, there are so many fun symbols for you to choose from! And they can be as secular-looking as you need them to be. The cat or the falcon to represent Freyja, the raven or the wolf to represent Óðinn, the goat or a drinking horn to represent Thórr, the weaving spindle or a cloud to represent Frigg, the boar or any symbol of agriculture (sickles, wheat...) to represent Freyr and the elves, symbols of the sea (anchors, sailboats, compasses...) for Njörðr, etc etc.
Just doing a bit of digging around mythological sources could give you loads of ideas! Surprisingly enough, the wolf is a very prominent symbol of Týr! After all, according to myth, Týr was the only Áss who was brave enough to relentlessly care for Fenrir: he would feed him and help him grow when no one else would approach him, for fear of being attacked. In this sense, they shared a bond like no other. One of mutual respect. And in the end, Týr respected Fenrir to the point of keeping his oath to him and losing a limb in the process, for it was only fair for him to do so. With as little historical information as we have on Týr, we do with the cards we've been dealt.
Rings are also quite discreet, a lot more so than necklaces! I have a whole bunch of norse pagan-themed rings that I wear on a daily basis: I have one which depicts the Ægishjálmur, and one that's decorated with the Elder Futhark alphabet, for example. I also wear a serpent ring in honor of the Miðgarðsormr and of Loki, and a ring with a low-key dragon design (a dragon tail and wing wrapping around the finger) to represent the tale of Sigurðr, who is the hero I work with the most, and who is very dear to me.
I hope I could help you out a little, and I wish for you to have a fun and fulfilling journey on the nordic path!

Custom Jewelry from the Sorcerer's Workbench
I haven't been promoting it much the last few months, but doing custom work is actually one of my favorite parts of doing jewelry for the occult community.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces from this year and last:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Custom Hestia devotional image. The cauldron image was based on the customer's own artwork. The image of Hestia at a fire in front of a castle was based on an ancient bas relief.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jupiter ring with lapis lazuli. A highly idiosyncratic engagement ring.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Three finger snake ring, made as payment for a model last October
If you'd like a custom piece, please reach out to me through any of my social media or my etsy store.

The Devotional Botanic Collection
Tumblr media
The newest release on Wending Wares Occult Parlor is the Devotional Botanic Collection—a selection of earrings, lovingly crafted with botanical designs and consecrated to respective tutelary plant spirits, including Belladonna, Pomegranate, Hawthorn, and Blackthorn.
Every set of earrings comes with a pair of rubber backers.
——————————————————————————————
Devotional Belladonna Earrings (Pearl & Silver)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These devotional earrings were crafted in the likeness of Belladonna Berries using violet-black freshwater Pearls, Sterling Silver bead-caps, and Fine Silver wire hooks.
Each earring was consecrated to the spirit of Poison Nightshade in a ritual where they were anointed with the juice of its berries and fumigated with the smoke of mixed Belladonna Blossoms and Drgaon's Blood.
Devotional Pomegranate Earrings (Lampglass & Gold)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These devotional earrings were crafted in the likeness of Pomegranate Seeds using handmade Lampglass beads and 14k Gold-filled components.
Each earring was consecrated to the tutelary spirit of the Pomegranate in a ritual where the beads were anointed with the fruit's juices and fumigated with the smoke of its burned flowers.
Every pair of earrings comes with a pair of rubber backers.
Devotional Hawthorn Earrings (Hawthorn Wood & Silver)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These devotional earrings were crafted in the likeness of Haw Berries using handmade Hawthorn Wood beads, Sterling Silver bead caps, and Fine Silver ear wire.
Each bead was consecrated to the tutelary spirit of the Whitethorn Tree in a ritual where the wood was reddened with Dragon's Blood pigment and then fumigated with the smoke of burned Hawthorn flowers.
Every pair of earrings comes with a pair of rubber backers.
Devotional Blackthorn Earrings (Sloe Thorn & Steel)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are Blackthorn Devotional Earrings created using hand-gathered Sloe thorns.
Each thorn was ritually harvested from local Blackthorn trees (Prunus spinosa) and then hearth-dried, before being individually sealed with Wisefool's Glaze (a magically empowered wood varnish crafted from an array of potent arboreal resins.) Thereafter, they were each affixed with a Stainless Steel pendant cap and a Fine Silver ear wire, before finally being consecrated to the spirit of the Sloe Tree and fumigated with a mixture of dried Blackthorn Flowers and Dragon's Blood.
Each earring measures between 2 and 2.5 inches/ 4 and 5 centimeters in length, and every pair is a bit unique, since they include natural materials. Additionally, the thorns used are fairly sharp, so please handle with care!
If interested, you can reach out to me here, or you can buy them directly from my shop using the links provided above!

This afternoon I went into the little metaphysical shop next town bc I was planning to get a bracelet w/ a crystal/crystal beads to wear as a devotional thing instead of the necklaces I had to stop wearing.
I called out to all the entities I work with so they could pick the bracelet out... and the choice went to a small crystal pendant shaped like an angel.
Not the objective, but if one of them wanted it, how could I say no? Also, none of those bracelets clicked :/

I got this bracelet that reminds me of Aphrodite. how would I go about being like “look this thing reminds me of you” considering I dont have any experience with her?
this is a pretty personal question honestly, because there's no "right" way to do something like this. some polis may have had specific dedication rituals or rites but I don't know any off the top of my head. generally, i whisper to myself or pray over it, simply saying who the item is for. you can also dedicate it through your own ritual that can be as simple or complex as you wish
if you already have a shrine/altar space you could put it there, even if it's not a shrine to Aphrodite. the Gods may not mind sharing especially if They're traditionally tied together. for example, Dionysos' shrine houses many miscellaneous items for Ariadne—or my Kore shrine has many things for both Demeter and Aidoneus. this way, it's in a dedicated sacred space. go with what feels right
you could simply start to keep it in a special place. this is extremely relative because a special place can be anything from the place you keep items important to you to a random spot you want to keep it. it doesn't have to be a "big thing" especially if you're a busy person. you remembering the honoring the significance is more important than it having a specific place when not being used.
those are the simplest ideas I could think of. i wanna reemphasize what i said above, that honoring Them is more important than the object itself. how you dedicate it won't impact the fact you took the time to get this bracelet and associate Aphrodite with it. i hope this helps a bit :) I also have an Aphrodite side blog that may have some more Aphrodite-specific content if you'd like @aphrodisianbaby

Can you associate things such as flowers, gems, etc. to gods that weren’t traditionally associated with them? As long as the association makes sense to you?
