Linhardt grabbed Byleth’s hand in his own and pulled it towards himself, palm up, and sighed wearily. “You’re not much of a healer, are you?”

[FE3H] How to Get Away With Courting Professor Jeralt's Daughter
Title: How to Get Away With Courting Professor Jeralt's Daughter Characters: Jeralt, Dimitri/Byleth, Leonie Summary: Jeralt is the professor for the Blue Lions House, and he knows that Prince Dimitri has a crush on his daughter, Byleth. He's going to make sure to give him hell. Warnings: Some violence moreso on the slapstick comedy kind, implied sex that happened offscreen
So I wrote two pieces for @dimilethfevers Dimileth Winter Exchange! First one is a Professor Jeralt and student!Byleth piece for @usaigi!
Excerpt: One student he kept a particular eye on, though, was the punk prince and house leader Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd. The night he and Byleth saved him and his friends in Remire Village, he already wanted to take her to the Kingdom of Faerghus! His interest in Byleth grew once they were in the same classroom, his soft gaze always fixing on her. He was certain Dimitri was smitten with her, and he would make sure to have him keep a distance from his daughter as much as possible.
For today's lesson, Jeralt was going over the axes and gauntlets homework he had given them a few nights ago. While lecturing, he noticed Dimitri once again gazing at Byleth instead of taking notes. Byleth seemed to notice too, glancing at him with small smiles. He ignored that for now to keep today's class running.

Does Queen Eve have Nabatean ancestors? (a random head canon that emerged from a joke about the fierene royals being Dimileth's descendants)
1: Her eyes.
Tumblr media
Queen Eve's eyes are made of three different colours: 3, 4, and 5.
Tumblr media
3 (the top part of Eve's eye) is a close match for Byleth's in game model (1), but with more of a turquoise reaction image Byleth's hue (2). Byleth has a Nabatean's power and the blood of a Nabatean.
4 (the middle colour of Eve's eye) is an almost exact match for Seiros' (6) but slightly more vibrant. Seiros is a Nabatean.
5 (the bottom colour in Eve's eye (which is less prominent)) is an almost exact match for Lilith's eye. Why include Lilith? Well, she is also a sky dragon, albeit from a different game, but it still probably has significance. Nabateans are just sky dragons, so that could be why there's yellow in the eyes? (is this kind of far fetched? yes. But its also fun so...)
2: Hair (this is probably more far fetched, so bear with me!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her hair gets ever so slightly more green towards the bottom of it. I thought that was just an entertaining detail until I rewatched the Seiros cutscene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her hair is the same blonde as Eve's but with green tinges at the bottom. This implies that as Nabateans age, their hair turns green, but starts out blonde.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flayn and Seteth's are the same. Blonde with green at the tips. (this is from the 3 warriors opening cutscene). Also, the curls in Flayn's hair are very similar to Eve's
Anyway. This has no real point. I have a head canon that Eve is a descendant of Nabateans of some variety (though very much mixed with human, I'm not saying Eve is a dragon by any stretch). So... fun head canon with a smattering of canon proof (?) mixed in lol

Would you consider AM to be a thematic reconstruction of the Blue Lord formula in FE?
Eh...kind of? Reconstruction implies that IS has ever deliberately deconstructed the archetype. They've certainly played around with it, in games like Genealogy and Radiant Dawn and even with lords like Hector and Ephraim who go through a refusal of the call stage of development, but as all of those instances still reach essentially the same endpoint I don't know if I'd call them deconstruction.
I've always thought of Dimitri more as a Blue Lord with (some) psychological realism. Marth loses his kingdom in the opening text crawl but doesn't react to that much, at least in FE1. Leif also loses his kingdom and begins the story angry and immature before his development, but he never loses his revenge motivation. Dimitri's breakdown feels more relatable from the outset because it's driven by betrayal and losses more personal than that of losing a country to an invading army. AM builds on that by treating his mental state seriously at most points that don't involve the self-insert: his followers feel directionless, he still struggles even after his big dramatic turn, and he attempts to turn his desire for revenge into something more positive even if it doesn't work out that way in the end. You could perhaps call that a reconstruction, that if you were to put an actual person in the typical position of a Blue Lord they would likely become dangerous and self-destructive from all the trauma and destabilization which would in turn make them bad rulers...but that it doesn't have to end that way.
Reading this ask though, I did have the thought that this could be looked at another way. Something that sometimes gets lost when people are discussing fantasy fiction is that the concept of monarchy may as well be purely a writing tool at this point. Most audiences consider monarchy as a system of government to be quaint and outdated and not something to be taken seriously, so it can be easily used in fiction without any sense of real-world applicability. It's a bit like Freudian psychoanalysis or astrology in that regard. This is relevant to FE lords because monarchy happens to be a perfect vehicle for Chosen One narratives: you don't need to invent a supernatural explanation for why a character is Chosen if they're simply born to inherit a throne. Dimitri, like many lords before him, is very much that character.
The problem though is that, for video games, you cannot get more Chosen One-y than the player character. This undoubtedly applies to Byleth - recall just how convoluted their backstory is to set them up as the perfect vessel for the player Sothis - but then leads to the problem of AM effectively having two such figures. It's rather awkward to have a story with two allied Chosen Ones, especially when one of them (presumably) spent money on the game and expects a certain level of pandering...and the other is a pile of code with attached assets. This leaves players with two options:
ship them together, hence the popularity of Dimileth, or
ignore or downplay the one they don't like.
Option #2 is quite easy here; there are three other routes if you don't like Dimitri, and if you don't like Byleth AM just so happens to be the story that needs them least to work, with a role that could easily be filled by Dimitri's established support network (as we actually see in AG). However, that fundamental tension remains, and I think it's at least a small part of why AM gets some of the criticisms it does. AM is too centered on Dimitri, there should have been the option to leave him because he's annoying, he's too gay for straight guys who play as and project onto m!Byleth, or even my observation that an AM without Byleth would be significantly better off for the exclusion. The route sort of poses the question of what a traditional FE Blue Lord standing alongside an Avatar would look like, and if there's a resolution to that tension between the protagonist archetype of the series and the need for self-inserts around whom the world must revolve. Player response on that point has been highly varied.
As seen with Corrin and Alear, IS's best solution is to combine those roles. Nonetheless, I still appreciate that Three Houses gives us options. You can opt into the familiar Blue Lord story if you like, and the Avatar isn't necessarily required for it to make sense.

Hi! Thank you for your work! Your blog is stunning! 😍
Can you break down the romance of Felix, sylvain and Dimitri for me?
Any idea how many children they will have and the „happy ever after“ looks like?
Do you think there will be a new game setting with the Three houses?
Thank you!! I'm not as active as I used to be but I do like thinking about them time to time, espacially now brave Byleth is out!
I love Sylvain and I like Felix but I don't ship them with Byleth. If that's what you're looking for me to breakdown, I ship Sylvain with Mercedes and Felix with Ingrid. I could break those down if you'd like!
I have a old twitter thread where I break dimileth down, but I never finished the thread. I don't think I will go back to it, as I lost all the research materials I had for it. I did get up to the point Dimitri and Byleth meet again in timeskip.
I think dimileth would have up to 10 children, I imagion they would have a ridicilous huge family, they love all their children equally I have two diffrent headcanons for to why that varies on what I feel for the moment.
One is that their first 9 children are sons and Dimitri really wants a little princess he could spoil, with the 10th being their daughter.
The second one is that most weren't planned, just happy accidents.
I always had the headcanon that after a few years they make so the church doesn't have as much power, they're not allowed to step in political debates or the power to execute anyone in the name of their religion, ect. After it's in tact, Byleth leaves her role as the archbishop to seteth and later helps Dimitri with fódlan. They still can have heavy debates, seconds after they're out of their work place they're loving spouses.
We did get 3 hopes, which takes in an alternive time line, I still haven't finished the game yet sadly. I'm very slow when it comes to hack and slash games, it take out a lot of energy from me also I always end up grinding a lot and right now I'm grinding supports that's exclusive to AG route.
I don't think we will get another game about Fódlan, mostly because then they have to imply one of the routes as canon, but with the success of 3 Houses I defentily think they're going to make more games in the future where you choose a route!

It never gets easier to watch Jeralt die and Byleth weep.
Tumblr media
I agree with him. Although I feel like with Byleth just gaining her emotions a while ago, grieving might be even more painful then it already is.
Tumblr media
I love how he only talks about himself. Not “we” as in her class, her students or her friends and the members of the church and with him just included. Only him. Its not to imply that no one else would be by her side, but to bring across how strong his feelings are and that especially he, will be by her side.
Tumblr media
I love this side of Sothis XD She is like... wicked in a way that is not evil, but more childish.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
We all know how his live would continue if Byleth would have vanished in this darkness. So... I’d say he has every right to be so relieved about her being still alive.
Tumblr media
Bridal-Style please ;P
I have to admit that the B-Support between Flayn and Dimitri was quite cute. She would probably have been my choice if it wasn’t for me shipping Dimileth so hard XD
Anyway... that was it for now. I have to get Sims 4 ready. I haven’t updated it in ages - as I haven’t played it in ages - and that means also updating all the mods I use... which is usually a time-consuming  hassle. But if I don’t do it. I won’t be able to play it. So... well... here I go

the contrast between claude's reunion at dawn cutscene versus dimitri's...dimitri sitting in the shadows as byleth steps out into the light and he's lost so much hope in the world, resigned himself so thoroughly to an existence to vengeance even if it kills him, that he's convinced they're another post-traumatic hallucination to remind him of his failures to protect the people he cares about most. claude standing in the light as byleth comes out of the shadows and he's surprised at first but then his expression quickly becomes something that says 'there you are' like byleth truly is that missing piece he was waiting for to come back into his life and he kept to his word before the attack on garreg mach that "this isn't it for us" regarding him and the professor.

Totally believable... Smash Bros scenario?
Byleth: It saddened me to see him like that, and I--
Palutena: And you proposed him on the spot?
Byleth: ... Excuse me?
Palutena: Did you propose him on the spot or not?
Byleth: Well, we're married now but it took its time for us to propose each other--
Palutena: Hmph, now disappointing. When my ridiculously powerful brother with heart issues met a disgruntled, lonely princess he proposed her on the spot!

[FE3H Fic] Until the Stars Are All Alight, Chapter One
Tumblr media
Title: Until the Stars Are All Alight Characters: Dimitri/Byleth, Rhea, Seteth, other characters Summary: Many years prior the dark lord Epimenides imbued all his soul and power into a Ring to become immortal and waged war against all of Fódlan. After his defeat, the One Ring is still intact and must be cast into the flames of Mount Oghma to end him once and for all.
Byleth is a Nabatean blessed with immortal life who fell in love with a mortal human. Dimitri is the descendant of Blaiddyd and heir to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, haunted by his nightmares and ancestor's past mistakes. Their relationship will be tested as a new war against Epimenides emerges, and Byleth must choose between her love for Dimitri or a peaceful long life without him.
(Lord of the Rings AU for Dimileth Goggles!)
Warnings: Implied sex near the end of the first chapter (there will be more explicit scenes in later chapters)
Excerpt:
"Prince Dimitri," Seteth called out his name. "Rhea and I have brought Byleth with us."
When Dimitri turned around, Byleth's heart almost skipped a beat. He had a lean figure but she could tell he had some solid muscle through his clothes. When he greeted her with a warm smile, her chest fluttered. She was mesmerized by his blue eyes and his youthful face.
"Ah, so she has arrived." Dimtri approached Byleth, his smile widening. "I'm lucky to be in the presence of a beautiful woman like you."
Already, Byleth felt her cheeks flush. This wasn't the first time she had been complimented on how beautiful she was, but she never felt any reaction toward that until now. She offered him a small smile.
"I appreciate the kind words there, Prince Dimitri. You're a very handsome man yourself."
It was Dimitri's turn to be flustered, his cheeks showing a shade of red. He turned his gaze away for a second and cleared his throat.
"Would you let me kiss your hand?"
Once more, heat rushed through Byleth's cheeks. She couldn't remember the last time someone made such a very sweet and lovely gesture. Byleth glanced over her shoulder to see Rhea and Seteth with approved smiles. She faced back at him and nodded.
"You may."
In one fluid motion, Dimitri gently grabbed her hand and kissed above her knuckles. His lips were warm against her cool skin.

Things like that got lost, as Byleth found himself drowning in war and tactics. It’s hard to appreciate things like the way a friend, a trusted confidant, might make him feel, when every moment of every day is consumed by strategy and the fear that any mistake, any brief moment of distraction, would cost them all dearly. He simply couldn't afford the luxury of desire then.
But the war is over now. The storm of worry in his head has finally subsided, and he can finally, properly appreciate it: Dimitri is gorgeous.
