When Ohrians meet their soulmate, it's supposed to be obvious. It's supposed to come with overwhelming physical, mental, and emotional sensations to ensure that they're left without a doubt that they're one another's ideal life partner... not to mention the appearance of their soulmarks. And it's supposed to be a joyous occasion, of course. After all, a soulmate is someone who will understand them on a deeper level than anyone else. Someone who will be safe and give them the benefit of the doubt. Someone who will inspire them to be their best self every day when they're together.

Dingo got his soulmarks at five years old. Because of extenuating circumstances, he has no idea who gave them to him. For Yonny, the story is much the same.

They met in school and end up such close friends, they swear they'd choose each other every time. Because they do understand each other better than anyone else they've ever known. And they do love each other as true best friends would.

But there's always the lingering fear that their soulmates would separate them. After all, neither felt the telltale sensations when they met. They can't be each other's soulmates.

Finally finishing Labyronia 2 so that I get get to the rest of the story. I did leave it for a while because it's not really the easiest and I kinda didn't know what to do at some point. But I continued now and while noseying around to get myself back on track, I managed to find my next goal so yeah, forward!

It is a fucking game tho. In the last area there is a dark labyrinth where you die if you touch the walls or these moving things on the ground. And even on the best days, I would say this game is dark af, but on my laptop screen you can't see SHIT. Even if i crank the brightness all the way up, I can only see a faint outline of the wall but not my own party so where tf I even AM. And the moving things I can see only when they move. Which is shitty because they don't move constantly, but one step at certain intervals. So it took me way too long.

But also, what struck me about this game from the first moments is that some of the bad guys aka end bosses of the first game are now the party members. Like, you start with Garic, who is a good guy but also Windir, who was one of the four end bosses in the first game, and then later on recruit Dinyon, another end boss of the first game. That doesn't happen often! You do sometimes recruit mini-bosses on the way (like Magus on Chrono Trigger for example) but not the entire bad guys.
