I couldn’t find a ref sheet for Ducktales 2017 Scrooge anywhere so I decided to make my own. I combed through episode 1 frame by frame, picked out some progressions and then proceeded to trace all of them by hand. I kinda winged it on hatless scrooge, but I think it looks fine.

Occupation: Matriarch of De la Cruz family, creator of ‘La Finca de Mamá Sol’ line of Puerto Rican restaurants and owner of the ‘La Finca Del Flamboyán’.

Universe: Ducktales 2017

Parents: Mateo and Rosa Matos

Siblings: Luisa, Blanca and Rosa

Relationship status: Widow

Children: 9

Personality:

Strict, kind, affectionate and hard-working. She likes children and loves to cook. She loves her family more than anything in the world, especially all her little grandchildren. Demanding in the kitchen and demanding on the farm. She excels at staying calm and giving advice in times of crisis. She is the rock of her loved ones.

Story:

She was born in Puerto Rico in the summer of 1870. She is the eldest daughter of 4 sisters and the lady of the house since her mother died of illness. She helps her father raise her sisters and keeps the house going. She helped fight in the revolution against Spain as a teenager and took over her family's land and plantations when her father was murdered for being a member of the ‘La Boicotizadora’ movement. She met Scrooge McDuck in 1899. After certain interactions both end up in love with each other however they couldn't stay together because Scrooge's obsession with becoming the ‘Richest Duck in the World’ was bigger than a commitment to young love. He promised to come back for her as soon as he had enough money to take care of her and her sisters; but he never came back.

Rosa, her younger sister, became seriously ill, forcing Marisol to marry Colonel José De la Cruz in order to pay for medical help. 9 children arose from the marriage; 5 males and 4 females. Her eldest son died along with his father on a business trip, leaving her heartbroken and owner of the De la Cruz fortune and rightful owner of her parents' lands. With effort, tears, blood and sweat she managed to create her restaurant chain, and with the help of freed slaves and her family tended her land, earning her wealth for generations to follow.

She doesn't know what happened, but she somehow stopped aging when she reached her 40s and she's still alive for over a century to the present day. She decided to see her immortality as an opportunity to continue caring for her family and her legacy.

Here’s the young Scrooge McDuck counterpart to my classic Goldie fanart!

I was really curious to see what young Scrooge would look like in his DuckTales 2017 style but with the outfit I know him in from Don Rosa’s comics. I also took some inspiration from the picture of him that Ducktales!Goldie keeps in her wallet (the very same picture I immediately made my icon when I started this blog) which in turn, takes inspiration from his golddigging look in Carl Bark’s comics.
