A grateful nation bids "Good riddance" to Mitch McConnell
So Mitch McConnell is stepping down as the ranking Senate Republican. He claims he knows when it's time to move on, but if he wasn't a senile old coot he would have known that the time was about four years ago. Denounced as a RINO ("Republican In Name Only) and a traitor by Republican voters, at this point he is only slightly less hated by Republicans than he is Democrats...
In politics, any reasonable person is going to have to make compromises. Every member of congress has cast a vote that they're not proud of, and probably quite a few of them. But Mitch McConnell seems to have always been a scumbag, elevating divided government, partisan squabbling to an art form. Good riddance, Mitch.

My favorite thing liberals on the internet do these days is pretend Joe Biden “always had a stutter this bad”
No sweetie, he didn’t. Listen to him speak 10, 15, 20+ years ago. He did not stutter like this. He did not forget what year his son died. He did not confuse the President of Egypt for Mexican. Etc.
That’s the sign of severe cognitive decline. It’s time to admit it

obligatory:
Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

So uh in 2024 Mickey Mouse could actually become a major Political Argument
Now you might be asking how in tf would he?!
In 2024 his Copyright runs up, well Steamboat Willie and a majority of the black and white cartoons could become Public Domain.
And we all know how the Company feels about this, this could become the single largest legal/political fight over one question
How Long can a Company Retain their Copyright on their Characters?
And mix in that it's an election year....oh boy is this possibly about to be a drag and knock out brawl.

3rd party Presidental Debate!
Here's 5 people that I find immensely more interesting than the two losers we've been saddled with again
I don't know if I like Sherman or De La Cruz more tbh but I would take any of these people over our two front runners (gag me, I can't believe i said that about a TWO libratarians!)

Congrats to our Co-Chair Shonda Rhimes, one of Variety’s “Power of Women” 2024 honorees! 🌟🖤
When asked in her feature interview how she’s feeling about this year’s election, Shonda Rhimes said, “Vote, period.” We couldn’t agree more. 😌🗳️

The connection between George Orwell and industrial rock music is a fascinating intersection of literature and music. George Orwell, known for his dystopian novels like "1984" and "Animal Farm," explored themes of totalitarianism, surveillance, and social control. These themes resonate with the rebellious and anti-establishment ethos of industrial rock music, a genre characterized by harsh sounds, distorted vocals, and often provocative lyrics. Bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy have drawn inspiration from Orwell's works to create music that challenges societal norms and questions authority. The dark and gritty aesthetic of industrial rock aligns well with Orwell's bleak vision of the future, making the pairing of his literature with this genre a fitting and thought-provoking blend of art forms. George Orwell, known for his dystopian novel "1984," would likely have had mixed feelings about the internet if he were alive today. On one hand, he might appreciate the vast amount of information available at our fingertips, reminiscent of Big Brother's surveillance in his novel. The internet's potential for surveillance and control could have aligned with Orwell's concerns about government monitoring and intrusion into people's lives. However, Orwell may have also been critical of the internet's impact on privacy and individual freedoms, as online platforms can track and manipulate users' behavior. The spread of misinformation and fake news on the internet could have also reinforced Orwell's warnings about propaganda and truth distortion. Overall, Orwell's views on the internet would likely have been complex, reflecting both its advantages and potential dangers in terms of surveillance, control, and manipulation of information. His works continue to resonate in modern political reality, where issues such as government surveillance, censorship, and propaganda are prevalent. Orwell's concepts of Big Brother, Newspeak, and thought control are eerily reflective of the current state of affairs in many parts of the world. The rise of authoritarian regimes, the manipulation of information through social media, and the erosion of civil liberties raise concerns about the encroachment of the state on individual freedoms. Orwell's warning about the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of truth and free expression remain as relevant today as they were when he first penned his dystopian visions. As we navigate the complexities of modern politics, Orwell's writings serve as a poignant reminder of the need to remain vigilant against threats to democracy and personal liberty.

“I think a lot of women only voted for Hillary Clinton because she’s a woman.” Maybe. Maybe it’s because she was the best choice we had at the time. I would argue that a lot of men didn’t vote for her because they hate women, & so instead voted for Trump, since he’s a man. Men very frequently support men just because they’re men. Fuck off with your “a lot of women only voted for Hillary because she’s a woman.”

Former Vice President Dick Cheney is taking aim at former President Donald Trump, all while supporting his daughter, Liz Cheney.
The politician, 81, released a video on Thursday, in which he calls Trump, 76, a "coward." The clip is a new ad to support his daughter's reelection bid ahead of the Republicatican primary later this month.
Backing his daughter, who serves as the vice chair of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection on the Capitol, Dick says, "In our nation's 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump."He adds: "He is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters. He lost his election and he lost big. I know it, he knows it, and, deep down, I think most Republicans know it."
"He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him," the former vice president continues.

Please, everyone, vote in Novembers midterm elections. We need more Democrats, or liberal leaning Republicans, in Congress to protect our democracy. The GOP is switching political parties to obstruct the Democrats agenda (AZ-Sinema). We must be cognizant of the wolves hiding in sheep clothing.

Coworker: I like going to the ballot box in person. it feels more important. Me: I get that, I sent my vote in by mail last week but I didn't get a sticker. Boss: I voted in person this weekend and they gavem e two stickers and one must be yours. I think it was halloween themed because it has a weird gremlin on it. Me, remembering meme history: Is it a multicolor head with legs? Boss: Yeah how'd you know? https://elections.ulstercountyny.gov/i-voted-sticker-contest/
