I haven't been talking about it because it feels too good to be true, but lately I've been working on a shadowgast fic consistently again for the first time since the vibes au 🙏🏻

The fic is the follow-up of my shadowgast Witcher au, there are roughly 12k words in it right now (including some outline), and this is one of my favorite passages so far:

In the silence that followed, Caleb took a deep breath and conjured happy memories. The smell of his mother’s kitchen. The moment he mastered his first Sign. Killing his masters alongside his peers and ending decades of torture and oppression for good. The first time he made Essek laugh.

I really hope I can bring this home and share it with you soon. Not being able to write (due to covid, bg3, work, general burnout, my dog's illness, probably other stuff I'm forgetting) sucked massively these past few months. This fic in particular has been on the back burner for literal years, and I'm so excited to be inspired to work on it again. I shall hopefully be sharing more soon!

#like i think ive done my ranting on this before so unless asked idk if ill go in depth again but. something something both starting off the #story as weak and ’unknown’ figures whove both been given these faiths and legacies to carry on by their mentours and neither really #understands the full scope of them untill the end. but while becoming the final protagonist and antagonist in this spiral of faith and #violence (and bad parenting lol) they both manage to embrace and take control of their paths through determination. and we watch both of #them grow in power and confidence and change as people through the story. its soooo interesting like especially compared to other jojos and #their villains like the only other ones who do that to that extend are jonathan and p1 dio!!!!!!! the first ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#and ofc then jolyne and pucci still work as opposites too with how one ends up embracing the uncertainty of the future by sheer faith in #the people she loves (and bc of that she ultimately wins) vs pucci whos so fundamendally unable to cope with that uncertainty that he ends #up all alone and murdered by a stand belonging to the brother he failed to reconsile with. lol.#wait this ended up as a tag essay OOOPS #jojo #pucci posting

Yeah, I wasn't disputing that you said for personal use, but the given reasonings is why the attitude towards the actual ability to download the fics at all has changed. You never know and have no control over what someone does with a fic they've downloaded, even if they say its only for personal use. Unfortunately its another case of a select few creative a negative outlook for the majority. Its just created this general distrust of the function as a whole.
