Every single year your family celebrated New Years Eve exactly the same way.

Your neighbours across the road would set up a table and chairs on their driveway, and your family and your next door neighbours would head across the road for a barbeque and drinks under the stars, with the Christmas lights that covered the three houses shining in the darkness.

And then after food the kids would always head inside to play a board game or battle it out on Just Dance, only stopping at midnight to watch the New Years fireworks go off and to run around with sparklers.

That’s how New Years had been for as long as you could remember. Only this year, things were going to be slightly different.

You were bringing Owen, your boyfriend of just over a year. You had celebrated New Years apart the year before, opting for a text to wish each other happy new year instead.

But you’d been dating for over a year now, and you couldn’t wait for Owen to meet your friends and family, and have the chance to ring in the new year together.

Owen pulled his truck into your parent’s driveway, parking before turning to you, his eyes full of anxiety.

“You’ll be fine, they’re all gonna love you.” You assured him, grabbing onto his hand. He bit his lip.

“There’s just so many people to remember.” He sighed slightly. “Give me a recap?”

You nodded.

“So you know my family’s names, right? Mum is Alice, Dad James, brothers Tom, Will and Lucas.” You said, and he nodded, so you continued.

“Rose and Max own the house we’re going to, and their daughter is Sophie. Then our other neighbours, the ones next door, are Graham and Pam, and their daughters Violet and Bella. You’ve met Violet, she’s my best friend, remember?” Owen nodded again.

“I think I’ll survive your family, it’s just everyone else I’m worried about.” He told you. You rubbed your thumb over the back of his hand.

“It will be okay. I’ll make sure to introduce everyone when we get over there, okay?” You said, leaning across the car to press a soft kiss to his lips. “Now we should probably get inside and see if Mum needs help with anything.”

You climbed out of his truck, walking around to his side of the car and waiting for him to hop out, grabbing onto his hand when he did. He locked his truck and with a last reassuring squeeze you were leading him around to the front of your house.

“Do we knock?” He questioned as you reached the door. You giggled and shook your head.

“Knock knock!” You called out, opening the front door.

“It’s open.” Your mum’s voice called back from the kitchen. You led Owen down the hallway and into the kitchen, smiling widely when you saw your mum and dad stood behind the bench.

“Look what the cat dragged in.” Your mum joked, and you dropped Owen’s hand to give her a quick hug, then your dad next. When you stepped back he grabbed onto you again.

“Mum, Dad, this is my boyfriend Owen. Owen, this is my mum Alice, and my dad James.” You introduced.

“It’s very nice to meet you sir and ma’am.” Owen smiled, and you squeezed his hand to reassure him.

“Oh please, call us Alice and James dear. It’s so nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you I feel like I already know you.” Your mother laughed. “This one never shuts up about you.”

You pouted.

“Don’t expose me.” You said. Owen grinned.

“It’s okay baby. if you asked my mum she’d say exactly the same thing.” He told you and you smiled up at him, before turning your attention back to your parents.

“Is there anything you need taken across the road?” You asked and your dad nodded.

“We were just about to take the chairs over, do you want to tell the boys and we’ll all head over now?” He suggested and you nodded, dragging Owen behind you as you went to find your three brothers.

After introducing Owen to your brothers and collecting the chairs from your garage, the seven of you headed across the road to where your neighbours had already set up the table and barbeque.

“Hello everyone!” Rose greeted from her spot next to the table with Sophie, as you made your way up the driveway.

“Ooh we’ve got a ring in.” Max joked, coming over from his spot behind the barbeque.

“This is my boyfriend Owen.” You introduced. “O, this is Rose and Max, and that’s Sophie.” You pointed to each one as you said their names.

Owen waved shyly and Rose smiled.

“Don’t be nervous, we’re all very nice.” She said and Owen smiled back. You placed your chairs down at the table, before turning to find your other neighbours heading up the driveway.

Violet was the first to reach you, throwing her arms around you.

“Hey friend!” She exclaimed as you hugged her back with one arm, your other hand linked tightly with Owen’s. She pulled away, grinning happily at your boyfriend.

“Hey Owen it’s good to see you again.” She said, pulling him into a hug too. You giggled at the slightly shocked expression that covered his face for a few seconds before he hugged her back.

“Nice seeing you too Violet.” He replied. She turned to her family.

“This is Y/N’s boyfriend Owen. Owen this is my mum Pam, my dad Graham and my sister Bella.” She said. Owen smiled at them.

“Howdy.” Graham greeted, while Pam and Bella just waved.

“Now.” Your mum spoke up. “Should we get this party started?”

Everyone settled in quickly, loud chatter filling the air as the sun went down. The three fathers headed over to the barbeque, Owen joining them tentatively, and you watched from your chair as your father handed him a beer and made sure to include him in the joking. You smiled, watching your boyfriend visibly relax which could have been because of the alcohol, but also could have been because of the fact that he could finally let go of the fear of being rejected by your friends and family.

“So Y/N, how did you meet?” Rose questioned, drawing your attention back to the women who were sat around the table.

“We met through a mutual friend, he was having a little halloween party and invited me and introduced me to Owen and we hit it off and started dating a few weeks later.” You explained.

“When was that?” Pam asked.

“Last year. We’ve been dating for a year and a month or so.” You told her. They all nodded.

“He seems like a good one.” Your mother said and you smiled, looking over to where Owen was stood, laughing at a joke Max had made.

“He is.” You agreed. “He’s a very good one.”

The dinner part of the night went well, everyone loudly joking around. Owen had fitted in well, confidently adding to stories and asking questions, and you couldn’t help but smile at how perfect the situation was.

After dinner, as per tradition, the kids of the three families headed inside, leaving the adults to sit and chat. You dragged Owen inside, sitting together on the couch as the younger kids decided what to play.

“Why don’t we go back outside and play hide and seek?” Bella suggested and when everyone agreed you all headed back outside and down the driveway onto the road.

“Oldest counts first.” Sophie said, and Violet groaned loudly before covering her eyes and beginning to count. You grabbed Owen’s hand, pulling him with you.

“I have the perfect hiding spot.” You told him, dragging him up into your front yard and into a small space between your house and a large bushy tree that concealed the two of you perfectly.

“You’re not scared of spiders, are you?” You questioned, and Owen’s eyes widened.

“I’m scared of all bugs, you know this.” He exclaimed in a hushed voice. You pulled an apologetic face, before an idea popped into your head.

“I know something that will keep your mind off it.” You said, before pulling his face down to kiss him passionately, slipping your tongue into his mouth. He groaned, pulling your body against his as he kissed you back, the two of you lost in your own little world.

“Ew oh my god, get a room!” Violet’s voice came and you and Owen jumped apart quickly.

“Shut up.” You replied and Violet laughed.

“Whatever. Found you, go join the other losers in the street.”

Midnight finally came around after hours of running around, playing Lego Rock Band on Xbox, and playing the family friendly version of Cards Against Humanity.

Everyone regathered in the living room, watching as the timer on the tv counted down, and you all joined in noisily.

“5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year!” You all cheered, and you grinned as Owen pulled you in to a soft kiss.

“Happy New Year O.” You mumbled against his lips. He smiled as he pulled away.

“Happy New Year.” He replied.

After exchanging well wishes with everyone you decided to head home, accepting your mother’s offer of staying the night in your childhood room.

You watched as Owen pulled his clothes off, leaving him in just his boxer briefs.

“Happy new year indeed.” You joked, your eyes raking his body. He blushed, stepping closer to you.

“Your turn.” He whispered, pulling on your dress and helping you take it off, leaving the two of you stood in just your underwear.

“Does your door lock?” Owen questioned softly, reaching out to run a hand down your side. You swallowed as you shook your head. He made a sound in disappointment.

if i see someone comparing esteban to miguel i will be throwing rocks

the show was completely vague about what being a colucci means. if you haven’t watched the og you probably won’t get the dimension of that last name

Okay, so I finally got through Saeran's good ending, I might go back and play the normal and other bad endings later if I feel like it, but as that was an emotional rollercoaster, I need some time to recover. But I'm going to put my full review under the cut.

Will I be releasing my rewrite outline at this point (though not really a rewrite, since I made it before the AE was ever released when I was drunk and salty at the lack of news)? I'm not sure. I wasn't 100% satisfied, but we'll call it a good 65% as I feel like there was more I liked than I hated. I'll leave that decision up to my dear readers, whether or not they want to see it. (Though there are only like... 8 of you here and I know you're probably here for Obey Me content and not MysMess)

I do plan on playing the Jumin Bad End DLC, but I may not liveblog it as I haven't really heard good things. This seems like another ploy for fanservice, but I do want to get more lore about Jumin's backstory, and honestly... I'm gay and want to see those sexy CGs. That being said... this is the last I will discuss the canon material on this blog, and it may be the last time I engage with the canon material (as I believe cheritz has announced that this is the finale anyway, and will no longer update the game). I will most likely continue to create fan content for it, as Sugar and I have our own sort of... fanfic thing going on with the characters and our OCs. But this is a personal and huge special interest of mine, and rather than go through everything and pick it apart for the rest of my days... I want to leave the game and the characters I love so much with only my happiest memories. They'll live on in my heart.

But I digress... here is my semi-condensed review. Sugar may talk about it as well, though I do not speak for them. THIS SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE SAID BUT HERE THERE BE SPOILERS. DO NOT READ IF YOU DID NOT COMPLETE THE GOOD END OF RAY'S AE.

The Good:

Saeran. Saeran was the best thing about this route. His character development was beautiful, and every time I saw him, I felt my heart swell with pride and love. His new sprites are so adorable as well as his beautiful CGs, and he looks healthier and happier in a lot of them. He's grown to be such a loving, gorgeous, wonderful man despite everything that happened in his painful life, and his story is nothing short of inspirational. I have a lot of love for Saeran, I have from the moment I saw him but this route really drove it home for me. He will have a special place in my heart among my fictional loves that can never be replaced.

Jumin Jumin Jumin! Jumin was one of the absolute MVPs this route, he was doing the most and boy... I just want to hug him. Even though he was in horrendous pain he was doing the absolute best he could to help everyone. He's been a love of mine for a long time, and that love only grew in this route. I was also glad to meet Driver Kim and see the interaction between him and Daddy Han Sr. (Because obviously Juju is the junior Daddy Han lol)-- even though I have mixed feelings about the Chairman, it makes me happy to see Jumin getting the caring he deserves from his father. And the fact that he even turned his back to let Jumin express his emotions without feeling embarrassed... Fucking killed me.

They did Rika right this go around. Yes, she got off to a really rough start, but she was very human and bearable here... and complete with her realizing her wrongdoings and working to right them in the end. It was a gorgeous arc, I'm so happy for her. I have a love hate relationship with her character, as she used to be a very badly written villain IMO... but one of the good things about Another Story in general is that it gave her depth that she didn't have before. And if they wanted to redeem her, they 100% did it right here, even if she had a rough beginning and had to make mistakes to get to where she was. I thought it was very human. Good on you, cheritz.

Vanderwood got a lot of good interactions here, and I'm really happy they gave us more Van content. Even if we're not getting a route for him, it's enough to me to finally see him expressing the affection we all know that he holds for Saeyoung, and working to help him.

The twins finally get to be happy! Need I say more?

Everyone doing well in their lives made me really happy too... most of the other routes had this problem where if one person got to be happy, someone else would have to suffer in exchange. I'm so glad that everyone got a happy ending.

The new chats made me extra emotional... I'm not sure why, to be honest, I think I'm just happy to see everyone again. It had been such a long time since I played Mystic Messenger, and talking to everyone again just like old times felt like returning to a childhood home (though I was 19 when I discovered this game initially, haha). I cried a lot, which is extra weird for me since I don't tend to cry in general.

Yoosung loves Saeran soooo much... in fact, everyone does. It made me happy, bc I was initially worried that he wouldn't have made friends with the RFA or that it would be awkward, but seeing everyone loving him and him being sweet back to them was adorable. Jumin also loves him and you can't change my mind (though maybe that's my wishful thinking of being in a Jumin & Saeran sandwich talking...)

So many good messages in this AE, and they hit very personally. I came to the same realization last year, that in the end, nothing in life matters except love, since you can't take anything else with you when you die. I shan't elaborate more!

Everyone's voice acting was so good! It was so beautiful and emotional, I could feel it through their voices. I usually skip the voice lines since I read so fast, but I'm happy I didn't.

The Bad:

Oh Jihyun... what have they done to you? I know I said he wasn't OOC and I stand by that, but it really feels like the writers hated him this AE. Even his sprite looked so awful and blurry. And he didn't get any good realization that he deserved better or anything, the literal cult leader and prime fucking minister got to be redeemed when he didn't. What the actual fuck. Sugar will definitely have more to say about it, and probably in a more articulate way, but let it be known that I don't like it either.

Furthermore, even if it's not OOC, it's structurally sloppy for him to come to some realization only to stay the exact same as he's always been. And same with Rika too. As I said in a previous post, having them both go through these realizations only to make them the villains again really felt like beating a dead horse. What can I say except AAAAAAAAA. WHAT THE FUCK?

Again, I must reiterate... why'd they make it so you have to be a bitch to Rika to get the good ending? I get that it's probably wish fulfillment for some people in the fandom, but it isn't for me. I really don't have any desire to berate or insult her bc in the end she needs serious help (even if I wanted to throw hands with her sometimes), and if the point was to call her on her misbehavior... some of it went too far (looking @ the "Don't stab Saeran's eyes out!" choice. I didn't like that at all, especially since it felt like you were making fun of Jihyun's trauma.) It especially made the end of her arc fall flat when she's like "Thank you for being kind and trying to understand me..." like, gurl... the game didn't let me do that without making me bad end! Jeez.

Also, literally why was it necessary to redeem the prime minister? He's a monster who tried to murder his own children. It's okay if they needed that scene where Saeran and you tried to understand him, but having him actually come around made no sense... why would he want to listen to you or Saeran when we've seen time and time again that there isn't really any good in him? He's just not a good person. And no, I'm not saying this because I wanted him to die or anything! ...Okay, maybe I did. Fuck that guy. I hate him. (Also the whole "you're only this way because you're lonely!" was so corny, I didn't choose those options but gjkgkgkfk)

The Ugly:

Have y'all heard about how much I hate the agency Boss? I hate him so much... I want to drown him in the toilet. I want to feed him taco bell laced with laxatives. I want to-- anyway, I digress. Not classifying this under bad because cheritz did their job by making him hateable and oh boy, did I hate him. He made me want to barf. I also commend his voice actor for somehow making me feel greasy through the screen. Seriously, dude, hats off to you. You are a genius.

That's about all I have to say for now... you can peruse my talk tag if you want to see any of my other thoughts on this game, but they don't tie into the good and bad. Despite the flaws, I enjoyed myself this route and I'm happy I played it. Even though there will always be things to improve upon in this game... I'm happy I picked it up, and I'm happy I met everyone. I would write them all letters or something but that'd be kinda corny since they're just game characters and won't see it anyway, and I know I'm not the only nor am I the most attractive MC out there... so this is Spice, signing out! Byebye, Mystic Messenger. You'll always have a special place in my heart.

All of the... weird horniness between Rika and Saeran made me feel grossed out. Her having him in a collar with a leash, and the game options that insinuate she has a thing for him... ew ew ew. Please stop it. That shit is so disgusting and I'm going to puke.

Warning for slight language and hinted child abuse

The rest of the day sucked a little less than the first half, Remus was big enough to admit that the thought of Patton’s giggles and cheery smile is what kept him from just giving up and ditching. His brothers and the guys had made fun of his quick change of tune as they boarded the bus back to the school, “Who knew De and Remus had the same tastes.” Virgil snickers making Logan roll his eyes and Deacon glare menacingly at the emo edgelord. “Aw come on babe, don’t insult Deacon like that. Logan has his charm...on occasion.” Roman counters. Remus doesn’t like the way they dismiss poor Pat like that, Virgil had been the loner kid before Roman had dragged him into their group and their dearest little brother had been coaxed out of his anti-social ways when Logan had engaged in a battle of philosophy when they were in middle school. “Hey lay off him. So what he’s different? I’m different and you guys love me!” Remus hisses out as the teacher does roll call. Roman makes a so-so gesture with his hand and the other laugh and nod, “Shut up, you would all be bored without me!” He huffs and lays across their laps earning a warning about behavior from the very tired teacher up front.

The rest of the trip home was filled with chatting about what they all endured that day and making plans for the upcoming weekend, that’s when the conversation circled back to Remus’ date. “Where do you plan to take Patton? A Starbucks or hipster coffee shop are not usually your ‘scene’” Logan asks using air quotes to emphasize the outdated slang. “Yeah! I can’t picture you in a sea of snobby preps or hipsters without your baseball bat or tire iron.” Pipes up Virgil who had been zoning out before, he seemed to really like messing with Remus today…probably because Remus was constantly teasing him about his early 2000 emo look. “Not like there’s pleanty of local mom and pop cafes or diners around town, you know perks of having a theme park near by and all.” Sasses Deacon as he combs his hand through Logon’s short (less than perfect now) hair. And wow Remus loved having a smart and amazing brother! Roman was great too but he didn’t have the same finesse with words and back talk that their younger brother did. “Fuck yeah De! He looks like the kind of guy that would love diners with that whole Mr dad vibe he has!” He cheers, but then Roman makes a ‘daddy’ joke and they end up forgetting the date again.

After having to be slathered with aloe juice from all the spots he forgot to cover with sunscreen Remus was happy to just lay on his bed and scroll through his feed, liking and commenting on some epic monster effects makeups and a few grimdark aus before he got bored. He was going to text one of his graffiti buddies when his thumb stopped on Patton’s id, the memory of those giggles played again. Texting on the same day wasn’t that taboo was it? Pat wouldn’t have just played along and put in a fake number, right? Ugh no no he was sounding like Dancing! In the Panicroom, why should Remus care about taboo? His whole existence was centered around being a big middle finger to tradition. And if Pat gave him a fake number then that was his choice, it might suck but Remus had come over to hit on him unannounced. Remus clicked the id and shot off a text.

The rest of the evening was spent trading bad puns and telling even worse jokes, Remus kept it all pg-13 since he still wasn’t sure which way Peppermint Patter swung. It was getting close to 11 when Patton’s texts started to slow, Remus was kinda sad about it but heck even he was beginning to flag and he was used to staying up till 2 or 3. But the guy also legit worked at the crap-shoot, if he went through that every day with a hot suit on then of course Pat would get tired at old man hours. He felt bad for probably keeping the poor dude up but he could practically see that smile every time he sent a new play on words. Ah fuck, damn it all to the netherplains! Remus f’ing Cain Royal had a crush on Patton ‘Padre’ Seaver! Fuck!

Luigi: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

It might not have been the support he was looking for but at least he didn’t have to handle all these feelings alone, last time he tried that someone ended up in the hospital…ok so it was him, he didn’t take finding out about their dad’s affair or being threatened by said dad all that well. They made a rule after that, the three of them would shoulder shit like that together afoaofa style. Sure they might think Remus is chasing tail or whatever but they still had his back and that’s what he needed as he sent a goodnight text with a heart to Patton. A moment later he got one back. Yeah he was caught hook line and sinker.

okay so idk if you watched/are planning on watching falcon and winter soldier but i watched the first episode the other day and they were speaking french (just a few seconds) and I UNDERSTOOD SOME WORDS DLDJDJ and i was so proud of myself. i‘ve only ever learned french with duolingo lol (i only do like 5 mins a day and that‘s why i was so surprised that i understood some of it!!). and yeah apart from latin i feel like italian, german, french and english are all similar in a sense.. i mean obviously they‘re completely different languages but for example there are some grammatical constructions in french that i think i wouldn‘t understand if i only spoke english? so when i translate those things into english you can‘t directly translate them bc you say things differently, but when i translate them into german then it makes more sense to me. idk that‘s something i noticed so i feel like if you already know multiple languages it‘s easier to learn another language compared to if you only know one language and are trying to learn a second one. even if the languages aren‘t similar then i think you get the hang of it easier.

ikd slsjsjs also i don‘t want you to think that i‘m a linguistic genius or anything lmfao, like i‘m only fluent in english and german and i‘m just a wannabe (ew that word) polyglot sksj (yes i had to google polyglot— i do think learning ancient greek would be super cool tho? like imagine studying latin AND ancient greek, whew). and honestly i don‘t think i‘ll ever be fluent in another language bc i don‘t plan on living anywhere other than germany or possibly england and i‘m not dedicated enough to properly learn any other languages esp if i don‘t have anyone to speak the language with. but i still try my best and i just love language/languages as a whole so yeah i‘m happy & just learning as much as i can dkdjh🥰

(I guess language/linguistics are/is my passion (which sounds sooo lame lmaoooo) and the word passion comes from the latin word pati (i think💀) which means to suffer, and in german passion is called Leidenschaft which basically means suffering too, idk why i‘m telling you this maybe you know it already. but ok dumb fun fact, in german you can make compound words with as many words as you like, and the longest official german word is Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz which is a law for the monitoring of labels on beef... this is such a dumb fact but i think about that word like once a day idk why dodjsjsj so... 👁👄👁)

but i‘ll stop boring you with my linguistics talk because truly i don‘t know much about languages but i am interested omg i‘m gonna shut up now.

My childhood home came very close during Hurricane Floyd. Thankfully the water never got actually inside the house, but it was an absolute lake outside. I feel like such a "bad snake mom" still having her in her current terrarium because, while it's perfectly liveable and not dangerous, it's too small for her. It's pretty much always on my mind to some degree nowadays, so just like, dropping the terrarium and extra tools off would be a massive weight off my shoulders. Usually once, sometimes not at all anymore. I guess my bladder actually grew a pair. Mom does help me do a full clean of Venus' cage sometimes, though, because I don't trust myself to both keep her around my neck while I scrub the tank, hide, bowl, etc., with a cat that is my absolute shadow. I don't want to be bent over the tub and Roman tries to do something; he's shown very little interest in Venus, but still, I'm one hell of a paranoid snake mom that doesn't want to risk her life. Full cleans only happen like twice a year, so I don't mind too much asking my mother for some help. I should point out that Mom doesn't want to hold her, so we can't reverse roles. Do you have anything hanging from your ceiling apart from lights? Not anymore, no. At my old house and the one before, I had lots of Pyramid Head gift tags hanging, but our landlord doesn't want me to do that here. Would you describe yourself as neat, messy or somewhere in-between? Venus had to go to the vet about a year into me having her because she was showing symptoms of an RI in strange breathing episodes, which can be fatal to a snake. Thank God, nature, whatever, that she didn't. There were warning signs, but closer watch over her humidity saved her. Roman, meanwhile, was taken to the vet like a year ago to be neutered. lil heads up to clear things up: Damian and Marinette have known each other for about two years in this au, They met when Marinette went down to Gotham for a field trip. And ya you guys can guess the rest they basically fell head over heels for each other but they are both dumb lil babies.

ANOTHER HEADS UP LOL : basically this is going to be the most random thing you’ll ever read! enjoy!!

The autumn leaves crunched at her feet, The breeze blowing quickly causing goosebumps to form against her soft smooth skin.

“Ahh Autumn,” Marinette thought to herself. Marinette loved the thought of fall. She loved the feel of everything, Everything was so beautiful. Different colors of red, orange, and yellow danced around the ground. She especially loved the fashion. She literally would die for a knitted sweater right now.

At this point Marinette was gathering the last bits of ingredients that were on her shopping list. You see, Damian invited Marinette to spend the holidays with him and his family. And of course Marinette couldn’t say no to him. And as an add on, Marinette offered to help cook Thanksgiving dinner with Alfred! Marinette was ecstatic and couldn't wait to see the family. Marinette snapped out of her train of thought when she realized she was zoning out. Flushed and embarrassed, she whipped out her wallet to pay the cashier. The cashier just chuckled and smiled.

“Would that be all Miss?”

“Yes, Thank you!”

“No problem, miss, Have a lovely Thanksgiving!” He said while handing her bags full over spices.

“You too!” Marinette walked out of the store with her thoughts filled with a special loving someone.

“Come on Demon Spawn! Help us decorate the house!” Jason yelped. At this moment, Tim, Dick, and Jason were decorating this house with many different types of decorations you can name! Fake leaves, pumpkins, and cornucopias! They knew Marinette loved fall and they wanted to do something special for her. Tim was making a list of where he wanted everything to be placed while Dick was setting up the lights.

“Absolutely not.”

“Aw come on! Your girlfriend would love it!” Jason yelled from across the room, as he set the dinner table. They all knew Damian had a soft spot for Marinette, they just wanted to see the two together!

“Marinette is not my girlfriend, she’s just a friend that I invited over to stay with us.” Damian snarled.

“Yeah right!" Dick said exasperated. "We've seen the look you give her, baby bird! Come on whenever you look at her you look so happy!”

“He has a point Damian,” Tim added on.

“Oh shut up, and hand me a pumpkin.” Damian snarled while trying to hide his blush.

Different wonderful aromas filled the air. Cinnamon, pumpkin and vanilla scents danced together, leaving a pleasant sweet smell that filled the air. The kitchen counters were a disorganized mess of different ingredients.

“Hey Alfred, Can you pass me the spice to your left? The stuffing is a bit on the bland side.” Marinette whisper yelled over to Alfred.

“Yes of course Ms.Marinette.” Alfred said while walking over to Marinette and handing over the spices.

“Thank you-”

“WOAH IT SMELLS AMAZING IN HERE!” Dick yelled while running to the table counter. He looked around and inhaled the sweet scents before signing. Noticing where the pleasant aroma came from, he gave puppy dog eyes.

“Ohh can I try some? Please Marinette!!!” He begged.

“It's not done yet Dick, maybe later.” Marinette said.

“Aw come on! It's probably already amazing!” He said while trying to steal the bowl away from her.

“No Dick! I want it to be perfect!” Marinette yelled.

Within seconds of fighting over the bowl of stuffing, Dick had finally been able to snatch it right out of Marinette's hands. But everything went into slow-motion as the aluminum bowl slipped out of Dicks grasp and landed straight onto Marinette’s head.

“Oh my god! I am so sorry!” Dick yelped.

“Oh two can play at that game!” Marinette yelled while throwing a hand full of stuffing towards Dick.

“Oh you're so on!” Dick roared while grinning ear to ear.

“You two are insufferable.” Alfred said while leaving the room.

Dick and Marinette spent the next few minutes at war. The flour was all over their hands and hair as the spice were spilling onto the floor. The battle became so fierce some of the desserts were beginning to spill onto the floor and get crushed by pots and pans that were falling and flying everywhere.

“What’s going o-” Damian was interrupted by a huge amount of pudding landing right onto his hair.

Some unrecognizable sounds came out of Dicks and Marinette's mouth.

Marinette quickly ran up to Damian, and tried to quickly clean up the leftover pudding that was in his hair. “Oh my gosh! I am so sorry Dami! Dick tried to taste some of my stuffing that wasn’t done yet, and ended up spilling it all over me and that's how this all started! Now everything is ruined! I am really sorry! I can’t believe that happened! Oh my goodness I’m so sorry I ruined everything-”

A soft finger landed on top of Marinette's lips.

“Shh you’re rambling Angel. Don’t worry about it, Dick can be like that sometimes.”

“Hey!” Dick screamed.

“Shut it Dick, Like I was saying its ok, let's get you cleaned up ok?” Damian whispered.

“Ya ok.” Marinette said while looking down Way to go, Marinette! I can't believe I ruined Thanksgiving dinner! Everyone is going to annoyed...I can't believe I let it escalate that quickly! Marinette thought to herself.

Damian placed two hands under Marinette's chin and lifted it up, causing her to warp back into present time.

“I'm not mad at you Angel, I would never be.” He said while taking her hand into his and rubbing circles around her palm with his thumb.

“Ew you two go get a room!” Dick teased.

“Once again Dick, Shut it. Make sure you clean up this mess ok? And try to salvage some of the food.”

“Ugh why do I have to do it!” Dick whined

“You are the one who started this no? So be the one to finish it.” Damian snarled.

“Ugh fine, But Marinette you owe me one of your MDC originals!”

Marinette giggled, “Ok Dick whatever you say!”

“Come on Mari, Let's get you cleaned up.” Damian said while leading them to her guest room she was staying in.

“Damian you really don’t have to help me, I can do this by myself.” Marinette said while turning around in her seat. They were both seated by her vanity. After that random food fight, Marinette had to shower three times just to take out all the leftover food debris stuck in her hair! Damian insisted on helping her get fixed up. He made sure she was alright by washing her dirty laundry, and by helping her comb her hair.

“It's quite alright Angel, and besides I want to help.”

“T-thanks Dami! But I’m quite capable of combing my hair.” Marinette chuckled.

“Oh I know, It's just fun.” Damian said while combing through the last piece of her tangled hair and placing a feather light kiss on top of it.

“Since you’re all cleaned up, Why don’t we go help Dick clear up downstairs, and try to salvage some of the food?” Damian said while patting her shoulders. Of course he doesn’t want this lovely moment to end, but his brothers would probably start to get suspicious. And he wasn’t in the mood to deal with that right now.

So they weren’t able to salvage any of the food.

During the epic food fight, Dick managed to jump over the counter, bringing the whole turkey down with him.

So what other option did they have?

They ordered take-out. Duh.

They were all scattered around the living room. Bruce and Alfred were sitting at a nearby table talking about the past events, and Tim, Dick, and Jason were sitting right beside the fireplace enjoying their Chinese food, while having an argument about something ridiculous. But Damian didn’t care. The only thing he cared about was the petite body curled up right beside him. There sat Marinette dozing off right in his arms.

Best Thanksgiving Ever. He thought to himself, right before drifting off to sleep.

Firstly can I say how exciting this entire drama is... Okay I’m kinda late to the show but the final action scene was so damn crazy and intense! HOLY.

I really really like how the story unfolded and how they link the sub-plots to the main plot. They even place one sub plot at the beginning followed by the main story and ended off with another small sub plot.

The first sub plot was sufficient enough to get me hooked. The Ko Yat Tai issue and how they made use of this sub plot to introduce the our main villain Lo Man La. And I have to say what an amazing actor Hugo Ng is. Like the moment he confronted Michael Miu’s character and having Ron Ng to arrest him. The emotions and his facial expression can’t deny how much effort he has put in to drive himself into the character. And that entire scene was so emotional. The 4 actors (Michael, Hugo, Bosco and Ron) in that particular scene did a terrific job. Look at how amazing the sub plot already is so do i really have to say how great the entire drama is...?!

The main plot comes in when Long finally infiltrated the U384 and started working undercover. On a side note, I pity Ko Ka Long so much that he had to check up secretly on his mother immediately after finding her and also losing contact with everyone he loved just for his job as a police man. What a huge sacrifice. There were so many exciting stuff during the main plot that I don’t know which to talk about. It was just like a roller coaster ride throughout the entire drama. But I have to commend how great Oscar Leung was in delivering his character Kenny. Omg he did such an amazing job! The crazy and addicted-to-violence Kenny was so fun to watch when portrayed by Oscar. He is such a talented actor and I always remember him in Line Walker always standing with his legs shoulder-width apart with the metal tag in his mouth while he talk and shake his body like a gangster.. LOL so funny. Really like him here in Flying Tiger too. Anyway, throughout the main plot, I remember myself complaining how dumb and annoying Ko Ka Chun was. He is just some workaholic guy that keeps on trying to climb up the promotional ladder and prove how smart he is at doing things. But seriously?! All he does is to screw up so many things. Well, but I can’t blame him coz he doesn’t know that his bro is working undercover.... And also.. It was so weird that he fell for Ling Man Lok.. Did he actually like her?? Or is it that he pities her so he decided to lend his “love” to her...?

Whichever the case, I wasn’t rooting for the Ron-Grace couple but LOL I find myself rooting so much for Bosco-Venus couple >< LOL I dunno...Well, I just find them damn cute... But it was so sad that there wasn’t much scenes with them coz Long was working undercover and Fei resigned from SDU following all the issues. But i was sad there wasn’t much scenes too even after the main plot. All there was were just that proposal scene in the ambulance and the chicken congee and the wedding... Meh.. saddddd.

The next sub plot was the part where they went against Red Wolf and trying to arrest Bun. Oh, I thought of one part which I didn’t enjoy much and that was the scene where they were discussing on all the stock market and economy thingy. Maybe people may find it necessary but I was kinda bored out at that part. I guess maybe it was just me not following what they were talking about coz it was confusing... It felt like the part in Fist Fight talking about stocks and blah blah.... ew. Anyway, the sub plot was still exciting but not as much as what has happened coz much of it was all the discussions on how to transfer fire arms, forcing bankers to help and planning operations blah blah. But I really like a few of the tiny lil’ scenes. It was really minor but to me, it delivered such a huge message. Firstly was the part where Chun’s mother slapped Long and after which reminded both of the brothers to take care of each other during the operation. Secondly was when Chun called Shuen and his mom to speak with them before he heads off for the operation. Thirdly was when Fei and Long dared each other on the operation and whoever wins will treat just before they head off to their respective vans for the operation. Lastly was the scene Fei reported to his Dad because his Dad wanted to tell her how much she means to him and she was his angel right before Fei goes off for the operation. Can we just appreciate how amazing and important family ties are. How strong the feeling of love can be where we just wish our loved ones would stay safe and come back in one piece. Gosh.. i really how these tiny scenes can be so impactful.

The last wedding scene was okayyy I guess. (Even though I was taken aback at how fast the relationship between Chun and Shuen escalated.. It came just out of the blue imo...) BUT! Where is Sis La?!?! She said she wanted to witness the wedding!!! She should at least make an appearance! Unless police doesn’t allow that... =((

All in all, one of the greatest HK action drama I’ve watched. (with a great ending... *hinting at Ruse of engagement...*) I literally watch like at least 1 episode everyday and can’t help myself to binge watch the last 5 in a day. Looking forward to part 2 even though I was sad to not be able see the entire of the original cast in 2. (Coz no Long and Fei =( )

The week in review:

Raw:

...Yeah hi, what the fuck is with the doll trapped inside of the table? Is that a metaphor for Alexa??

I’m so happy for her being able to have segments with Orton. Good for her.

Alexa’s like a mere inch taller than me so she’s a nice gauge as to to how tall the men’s roster is in comparison, and Randy? Fucking tall.

So the writing was on the wall; Fiend cares about Alexa (whether the nature is abusive is irrelevant to this point) and Randy has figured out how to use Alexa as a pawn to manipulate Fiend. I was kind of hoping Fiend/Alexa were in control of the gameboard, but it seems I’ve been duped.

The only complaint I have about this is how... compliant and helpless Alexa was in this segment. She’s not only been possessed/traumatized into caring about Fiend, but furthermore she does care about him, so why wouldn’t she be fighting against Randy when she was in his arms? The writing of her character in this particular segment seemed shallow. I know she can play whatever emotion they want from her, so to not ask for any emotions at all is curious.

Also the only person who isn’t a heel here is Alexa, and I won’t really hear any argument on the manner. Fiend is a predator at best. Orton is a psychotic douchebag.

My head hurts. Imagine Becky being stuck in a tag team with Lana rather than throwing a huge fit about not being able to defend her title for fucking months.

“Sarah you wouldn’t understand, but Shayna and I are about to-- *starts smiling like a fucking idiot*” Wow I want to defend wwe’s incessant need for giving Lana a storyline but I’m so fucking tired of abysmal promos. God. I. Miss. Becky. WHY is the Raw women’s champion wrapped up in this??

Shayna’s hatred for Lana is fucking hilarious.

Why is it, whenever Nia and Shayna do their dual barricade ragdoll move, Nia always gets the lighter one?

I kind of wish this story had a live crowd, I’d like to see if all of this was actually buying Lana some goodwill from the audience.

Hilarious watching Lana sit on the bottom rope for a few seconds before climbing through onto the apron, before slinking down to a sitting position, before finally collapsing onto the floor barely peering into the ring. Tf is she doing rofl.

Now she jumped up onto the apron lacking any enthusiasm, tagged herself in, and is climbing onto the turnbuckle while seemingly sobbing. What in the fuck lmao.

God Asuka is working overtime here.

Second, I feel like this is the beginning of her run of not appearing on Raw because she isn’t deemed developed enough outside of a tag team, which is sad. Third, rofl @ her giving Sarah sheep’s stomach chicken to eat, I have no words. Anyway, she should be a solid midcarder. Get it together wwe.

I know fans are really into WarGames but I find the alliances really fucking weak every year. It’s as bad as Survivor Series, just with more weapons and brutality.

So Xia Li lost some matches and now she’s being tortured... okay. I’m gonna keep my comments on this to a minimum cuz I can tell this will be some long-term story.

Oh I really like how their respective team members are standing up in the back on balconies. I really fucking like the layout of this arena. Huge fan.

Why Shotzi vs Raquel though? Why is the team captain fighting? That’s not typical for these, is it?

Ugh failure to throw Shotzi through the ropes. There’s just... a skill gap in the division, you know? And Shotzi and Raquel are on the lower end of that gap. I don’t care if people love Shotzi, she’s MILES away from being a champion. What saves her is her risk-taking, but it’s just a matter of time before that bites her in the ass.

Shotzi’s offense is doing a minimal amount of potential damage to her opponent while taking herself out in the most convoluted way possible. She’s Sasha Banks on steroids.

You call it innovative, I call it foolish.

Raquel just standing there waiting with stairs in her hands. Beast.

Shotzi can’t have a kf leg injury, that negates 95% of her offense!

Limpy vs Gimpy

Setting up that ladder in the corner was clunky as shit.

A pure ladder stip is hard to have in a women’s singles match, but this match is a big pile of meh.

Honestly I’m not about to complain about all of these women getting involved because this is borderline boring.

AYYYEEE it’s Io! Io saved this match tbh. Love her, THAT’S my champion.

Give Shotzi’s team the advantage, I doubt they win anyway.

To be honest; you have former nxt champion Ember Moon, inaugural UK champion and former nxt champion who fought against Charlotte fucking Flair at WrestleMania Rhea Ripley, and current champion that beat Charlotte fucking Flair for the title Io Shirai. The idea of that team losing is laughable at best in kf. But they will, cuz fuck babyfaces.

*Bonus* online exclusive: What surprises could you possibly have in store aside from some random weapons? Also fuck your howl. Edit: she was talking about her stupid new tank, wasn’t she...

Io and Rhea make an amazing team.

Rhea and being thrown into the cage on the outside of the ropes, name a more iconic duo. I’ve heard that’s the worst part about cage matches cuz your skin legit gets dragged against the links as you slide down.

Holy shit Io just got powerbombed through a ladder. OOF.

That’s the ending?? Raquel pinned Io for the ending??? Holllllyyyy shit.

Interestingly enough, I’d have to say the 2 team captains did the least amount of notable work.

Okay for Jason I would definitely start with the big ones, which are A Death In the Family and Under the Red Hood. After that you could try Red Hood: the Lost Days and Countdown to Final Crisis. I would avoid the n52 series until you have a good enough grasp of the character to recognize bad writing when you see it.

For the generalized batfam.... that’s pretty broad. My personal favorites are Red Robin, Batgirl (2009), and both B&R series. If you have more specific questions, you should IM me! I promise I’m better about answering those than asks

Yeah! In her original version, Babs had a birth mom and an adopted mom. She was originally Jim’s niece, so her birth mom’s name was Thelma Gordon. After the adoption, her parents were Jim and Barbara Gordon, with her adopted mother being her namesake. So two Barbara Gordons.

I think for awhile the canon was that her mother died in a car crash, but the current version has her still alive. She left Jim when Babs was young, taking her son (Babs’s brother) with her. James Gordon (the son) turned out to be a serial killer.

Barbara Gordon Sr. and James Gordon Jr. both appeared in the n52 Batgirl series during the Death of the Family arc. There’s also a very good story about James from the Dickbats period. That one’s called The Black Mirror, if I’m not mistaken?

Oh I have very strong opinions about the role of abuse in Damian’s narrative. It’s absolutely there, and the effects are staggeringly large. There is no doubt in my mind that the league was an abusive environment, and I can’t justify some of the things Bruce did either.

I think I would say the same thing for Jason, if not quite as strongly. I definitely think that some of the things that happened to Jason as a child shaped his story later on, but less of those were abuse than outside circumstances. The n52 takes a different track on that one, I think, but I don’t put much stock in that characterization.

Unlikely. They get along better these days, but I would argue that comes from poor characterization of Bruce, not an actual resolution process.
