Atmos - his name is literally just atmosphere SJDFKLSJDF i thought atmos would be a fun name and then i slapped phere on there cause why not !! his middle name, cupid, comes from the song by jack stauber that has the same name

Zeph - the oh hellos album Zephyrus !! his personality is heavily influenced by the song "Soap" from that album

Winston - friendly ouppy name :3

Finn - i don't rember uhh i think i just really liked the name Finnegan back then tbh? i thought i was a boy and i wanted that to be my name but i named an oc that instead type deal

Ketu - genuinely no clue. i think it just sounded cute !! it's pronounced "key-too"

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

Atmos - i was writing an empires fic and needed a messenger in mezalea! atmos was a throwaway oc that i then proceeded to get attached to SJDLKFJS. he's a joel clone, so sir smallishbeans momence wough

Zeph - another minecraft oc! artemis was for an origins server- a fish guy with no gills cause i wanted to be a fish but also wanted to make the fact that i didn't pick a fish origin make sense. i made artemis a portal keeper. and then i decided i wanted to have an orca as well cause i really like orcas, and i made the two of them brothers !! zeph is a wish spirit and made itself an orca so that artemis could have a sibling just like it- another fish that can't breathe underwater. i think. it's been a minute sjdkfljs

Finn - came from a dream i had in like 2017. i think he used to be sapphire from steven universe but that might have actually been soralyne.

Ketu - same dream! he was the dragon. i think kirishima from bnha??? (listen it was a weird dream,)

for atmos, zeph and winston: not as often as you'd think tbh ????? their stories are set in minecraft servers that i do not play on very often so there's not really a story for me to write SJDLKFJS. i draw them like maybe once a month it really isn't a lot

OKay this is SO late because I wasn't using my desktop for a hot second and mobile doesn't like to tell me about inbox messages, but I also didn't check so that's my bad! <3 But both of y'all asking about top 5 death note momence has me so <3 <3 <3 ; w ;

Okay so I will preface this with: it has been a very hot minute since I read LABB so as much as I'm obsessed with it entirely, I probably forgot some very good moments. u_u These are gonna be silly moments cuz I like the funnies.

Starting at number 5 and going to my favorite moment:

5. The entire time Light is under house surveillance. From the weirdly conservative and leisurely skimming of lingerie mags to look like an average, regular teen (not believable). To the famous "I'll take a potato chip... heh... AND EAT IT!" scene. Classic.

4. I think it's like 1 week max since Light had got the Death Note. Lind L. Taylor shows up on tv and Light is like ??. He introduces himself as "L", says I have a pretty good idea of why you're doing this, but "what you are doing... is evil!". And Light IMMEDIATELY is like oh FUCK this guys ENTIRE life. DIE! Which also outs his location like entirely, LOL. Idk it's just very funny to me. Anti-kira? CANCELLED... LIVE!!!

3. Light and L's fist fight(s). Love watching these homophobic gays fight each other with their bare hands and get knocked around because they're chained together. They clearly love it too and I wish they'd get their hands dirty a bit more often instead of just always using their massive brains to have dirty brain sex.

2. From the LABB Murder Cases, Chapter 5, Page 117-119: A very close second favorite part of mine is when Naomi comes up from the kitchen at a crime scene with some coffee on a tray for her and Rue Ryuzaki (private detective and Freak). She opens the door and askes if he found any more clues and then notices he's just laying in the middle of the room, flat on his back, arms and legs sprawled out like a star fish. She's frozen looking at this dude and then repeats the question and is kinda worried he's gonna start crawling around with his back arched like in some horror movie (ps. For context: she found this guy at a crime scene when she looked under the bed and he crawled out from under it (hes a seasoned on-all-fours crawler), and ate a jar of jam with his bare hands for lunch. amongst... other things. so she's already going THROUGH it with this dude). He doesn't respond and shes like uhm? and he says "I'm a corpse." "Hunh??" "I have become a corpse. I cannot answer. I am dead." She's bewildered but just accepts it and ponders how to get around this dude so she can put the coffee tray down. She eventually goes to jump over him but completely fucks it and steps, in boots, right on his gut. In an attempt to catch her balance and not spill the hot coffee on him and everywhere she puts her entire weight on him." "Gah!" said the corpse." "S-sorry!" she remarks and then they carry on. I'd give anything to be a fly on the wall with these two.

From the LABB Murder Cases, Chapter 2, Page 55-56: My favorite part of the book (tho honestly there are so many so don't quote me on that lol) is when Naomi goes into the bathroom to speak to L on the phone about the case at hand. She reports that a strange private detective is there helping her. To which L asks point blank: "Is he cool?" and shes like.... what? and he repeats the question and she's still unsure how to answer such a question, but lays it on THICK. She's dead honest and is like this guy SUCKS, he's quite honestly a PATHETIC FREAK and a WEIRDO "and I'm surprised he hasn't killed himself yet". I'm crying! She said that!! There is silence and L changes the subject back to the case. BUT the best part is she leaves the bathroom to go back to investigating and the "freak" in question (Rue Ryuzaki) is standing right there and was most likely eaves dropping on the whole conversation she just had. The whole scene has me hollering entirely and I think about this art done by @/ekmeko everyday. Link

the one where we killed Zaim, that we didn't even ignore properly, but that is forever in my mind as a moment that fucked me up

James getting kidnapped in front of Iskandar and Aamir, honestly

the one where Rafaäl becomes mortal and. slightly overestimates his mortal strength, and Nye is the one to find him, and he and James are trying to support him while also dealing with what they saw,

Rhodri and Rebecca. just, everything, them and their daughter who died, and Rebecca never recovering, and Rhodri ending up all alone with no company other than a ghost,

LAUGH

Tiberius fucking Oleander and still managing to be homophobic about it, only to get chucked out of his house by his father wall stark bollock naked. in a similar vein, Tiberius on the verge of getting beaten up by Kai and getting a raging boner about it

Rafaäl dressing as a woman and saying he'd marry Tiberius, only to suck him off, reveal he's really a man, and make Tiberius raise a child he didn't really want. iconic actions. Tiberius suffering consequences is Always good

Kai/James high school verse, specifically any part where Kai makes fun of James for liking the Smiths

honestly? Glenn getting called "fish guy" by all of Jeanette's siblings. it just makes me laugh because I can picture his expression and I love it so much

I HATE to say it but. Tiberius accosting Rafaäl in the grocery store over his shorts, and Rafaäl threatening to smack him with his cane, and then introducing Nye to naked sunbathing within like a week of this happening

ANGRY

what Caligula did to Manchineel, and the entire trial, and how he tried to defend himself. how he was so slimy and awful the whole time, and genuinely didn't regret what he did.

that one where Rafaäl managed to escape Oleander, only for James (and Nia) to bring him to the Golden Galleon to be reunited with the man who intends to hurt him. I know I did this but it was truly dreadful on both of their parts.

that one verse we had where Kai and Ray got divorced, Kai implied Ray and Zaim were stupid because Ray put Zaim in a traditional school and Zaim got bullied for it. also, Zaim getting bullied, that was Awful

how James turned on Hyacinth when he realised he was Nye's son and not Oleander's. specifically, how he then ignored Hyacinth every time he tried to tell him what Oleander was doing

I am not belittling the situation by putting it further down, but everything about how Boris treated Kai. I just can't isolate a specific one or a specific verse, it's always just terrible

!!! EMOTION

Rye affair kicking off. I kind of wanted it when I made Nye, and then it happened!! it happened for them and I love them both dearly

specifically, when Glenn was created, when you described him and let me do the rest, and how he fits so nicely into Jeanette's life, how he's kind and gentle and respects her boundaries, and how she slowly comes to trust him, I. !!!!!

Kaimes confessions, like. all of them. specifically, the times when they share a bed and cuddle "to be like the trope", and the one where Kai invites James to prom, and the one where they try to guess each other's crushes and then end up saying (correctly) each other's names, these are all fully !!!!! emotion moments

whenever Kry makes a breakthrough in therapy or communication, honestly, because I Want them to work, even though we made them both when we weren't in fantastic places, I think they can do better, just like us!! like, whenever they get better at talking, I am just !!! because they are Improving!

when Jeanette asked Glenn to come for dinner with her, when she felt safe enough with him to spend time alone with him, like, that must've been So Much for her, and it meant a lot to him, too,

o inDEED, thisll be a little tricky cuz i like everybody for different reasons and have issues with them all for different reasons bUT ill have it in an order that like, follows the same general path

under a cut cuz this is QUITE long lol

1. weiss, fave character out of both groups, i like seeing her on screen the most and think the way her personality has developed has been interesting (even if handled a bit poorly in the beginning with the faunus stuff not being addressed properly) i think her dynamics with her family is really interesting and im quite partial to her snow aesthetic

2. ruby, one of the few main protagonists in media i actually really like, i VERY MUCH like her aesthetic and like drawing her and i think her character development has been interesting, shes a lot more serious than i think people realize and her difficulties with social stuff is relatable, autistic queen

3. pyrrha, i like pyrrha’s juxtaposition as being someone who is like, the “gifted kid” and knows that’s what she is or whatever but have interpersonal relationship conflicts as a result of her isolation from being idolized, i think her placement within the narrative was actually really tragic (/pos) and she very clearly has a lasting impact on many characters even when she is not mentioned by name, you can tell too that she has a complex with self loathing and i feel like part of why she prioritizes everyone else above herself is a form of that, wish we’d seen her magnetic abilities utilized more

4.yang, yang’s personality has always been fun and i like how you can tell her voice actor really enjoys playing her, one of my favorite arcs for her within the series was seeing her deal with her ptsd over the fall of beacon and it disappointments me that this plot point kind of disappeared after v6

5. nora, i like nora’s energy and competitive personality and i think she has some good comic relief moments (that almost seem self aware at times without QUITE breaking the 4th wall), i also consistently have liked each of her designs throughout the series and i think watching her relationship with ren (both romantic and just her connection to him in general) has undergone some notable developments and im interested to see where it goes

6. blake, catgirl momence, i think i tend to like blake more in the ways in which she interacts with other characters rather than her solo, i think its interesting to see how much she was affected by adam’s abuse and how it still alters the ways she bonds with people into the present (or at least thats how i interpret it) i also like her development from sort of cold/cool/standofish to a bit more of an awkward type, and i like a lot of little scenes and personality quirks of hers (v3 fish bowl scene my beloved lol)

7. jaune, i like jaune WAYYYY more now than i did at the beginning of the series and i like how he is both the team support in terms of lending his aura and also as a person that the others can confide in when they need to, i think he’s had one of the strongest and most notable glowups in the series, but in general im not super attached to him overall as a character but i appreciate his place in the story and what it means

8. ren, i think ren stands out compared to the others in terms of his generally very level headed personality, and i like seeing his interactions with nora (their bond feels genuine and their differing personalities makes them play off each other in a fun way) but on his own he doesnt interest me as much as the others, and i feel like his arc in v4 didnt seem to have any particularly lasting impacts on him (or nora), and i feel like considering v4 was at least half about his past that there shouldve been a longer lasting effect to seeing that arc of his and nora’s life conclude but we didnt quite get that unfortunately
