whats the world outside of quesadilla island like?
from what we know, its set on earth, and quesadilla island (according to sofia) is located at point nemo, the furthest point from all lifeforms
we know that the qsmp world is very much like ours, with planes and cargo freights and train stations and our current day technology (computers, security cameras, etc)
qsmp’s world has the same countries, the same languages as ours (the french flying back to france, the brazilians boating from australia (i cant quite remember this one feel free to correct me)
but the difference is that qsmp is set in a minecraft based world, while ours is.. well, the real world
so what does that mean in terms of the residents of quesadilla island?
does it mean that the entire world of qsmp is minecraft based? or is the island the only part of the world that is minecraft based? also whats up with the hybrids, then? are they normal in the qsmp world, or were they fully human outside of the island, and after arriving on the island found themselves changed...?
(on a funnier note, would a random city in the qsmp world be filled with phantoms and know them as pests, having exterminators? i love worldbuilding)
we also have the fact that apparently 2b2t is canon to the qsmp world as well, according to fit, so where would that be set? what would the logistics of that be?
also, the existence of the eggs and the various mobs in the qsmp also add some questions. like, would they also be real outside of the island? are they island endemic? are they part of the act of quesadilla island?
a whole new layer to this would be if the island is actually a whole other dimension/plane of the earth, but i am simply not smart enough for that
but yes as you can see i love worldbuilding and the logistics of how the world in a story works with the story

Tinfoil theory: Edith & Harold are really older Louise & Rudy that traveled back in time!
Tumblr media
Okay, no. This is of course not true. There's really no evidence for this (and what we know of Edith's backstory contridicts this) but when I look at them I can't help but think how similar they are.
Rudy & Harold have the same long ears and talk in hoarse voices that makes you think they may have issues with their respitory systems. Rudy likes hats and his favorite colour is green. Harold wears a hat and a green shirt.
While Louise dosen't chare many characteristics with present Edith she does share many with Edith as a child as I pointed out in a previous blog.
I'm just saying; if anyone asked me what Louise and Rudy would look like 70 years from now I'll probably just show them a picture of the Cranwinkles.
Tumblr media
Also their dynamic is somewhat similar with Louise & Edith being more dominant and Rudy & Harold being more submisive.
Again, I don't think this theory is true but its just fun to imagine.
Maybe it can be the premise for a fanfic or a comic book story.

You know what would be interesting? Listen I don't know everything about tes lore, I've only played skyrim. But I've heard of veiling as a concept in some practices, and while I don't do this myself, from what I understand some people use various head covers to protect their spiritual energy? Connecting this to quite a few mages and priests in skyrim are hooded, what if on Nirn mages cover their head/hair because it dampens their magical presence? Mmm hard to explain but many thoughts.

Me: lol isn’t it funny how Star Trek tos had multiple episodes saying humanity was passed bigotry yet Spock experiences racism and bigotry every other episode?
Also me about 10 minutes ago: Wait is this actually a mirror to the politics of the time where Eastern Europeans and the Irish were getting folded into white America as a way to combat African Americans fighting for civil rights? Like they started pedaling the “oh immigrants were welcome,” BS.

Aw hell yeah selfshipping is always fun, I literally have multiple word docs of my own selfship writing (it's really just ideas thrown down and I don't care if it isn't coherent/it's snippets of particular daydreams I had and wanted to expand on).
Will it see the light of day?
Nah, fam, but I've shared a few with a few friends and they gassed me up now I've got an ego lmaoooo
Do I have fun indulging myself and essentially showing myself self love by doing it?
Absolutely, heh. It's weirdly cathartic/therapeutic in a way. Even if sometimes it's dark content instead of fluff or whatever, idk it's nice and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
So even if you don't share your selfship stuff doesn't mean you shouldn't indulge in writing if the mood strikes, life's too short to not treat yourself.
But I gotta ask how would you and Jing Yuan meet?
Do you run/work at a cat cafe, got caught in the rain together? Ig it depends on what you want it to be.
I suppose it’s that… I’ve always seen reader inserts as self shipping in a way. Especially when I’m the one writing them and controlling the plot. Though I suppose it’s true that the reader is assigned a personality that may not always coalign with myself, so to write something specifically about Me and My Name on the paper would be a bit different.
Umm…….. if it were me… well. I do a lot of cafe jobs, so that could be something. But I guess if this is my imaginary little universe and I’m essentially making myself into an OC I guess I like the idea of actually being a writer and maybe JY likes to read my books in his downtime ?????? And then….. idk maybe he’d come to a book signing and I’m like Huh and he’s like -w- please sign this and then I die

Warriors = Hero Linkle = Hero
I’ve got a couple crackpot headcanons here but hear me out:
1. What if, Linkle was Wind’s descendant?
Think about it. Her deal is that she thinks she’s the legendary hero chosen to wield the Triforce of Courage. She thinks this because her grandmother gave her their family heirloom and promised that she was destined for great things.
That heirloom just so happened to be a compass, an item commonly attributed to sailors. Who else is a sailor? Wind!
Therefore, Wind at some point in his life comes into possession of a compass (idk, maybe he makes it or finds it in a dungeon) that he then passes to his children, and his children pass it down to their children and so on and so forth long after the Era of the Great Sea.
Not just that, but who else had a grandmother who believed that their grandchild was destined for greatness and gave them something for their journey? Oh that’s right, Wind!!
They say history repeats y’know?
This would be even better if you throw in the fan theory that Linkle and Warriors are siblings, making him and Linkle Wind’s descendants. That’s a dynamic I kinda want now.
2. What if she’s actually the legendary hero?
No evidence for this it’s just a crackpot idea. Warriors is talented and all, but he did kind of get shoved into the hero role and was forced to adapt to it. Linkle meanwhile willingly left her safe comfortable village to join the war.
Imagine if everyone was fooled into believing that Warriors was the hero because of Cia’s attentions on him? We know from Time and Twi’s case that the hero’s spirit can manifest at least twice within a bloodline...so following from that first idea, it kinda fits.
So mix together Linkle and Warriors being Wind’s descendants, the ambiguity of who’s actually the hero (can the hero’s spirit be split between to people...?) and some healthy sibling rivalry...there’s decent story potential here.
But idk, it’s still dumb but pretty funny to me.

you know what I'll send you number 10 as well!
argh i almost forgot about this!
If you could make one more character a travelling companion who would it be?
my first thought was Flora, then I remembered she literally is a travelling companion T-T they just ignore her so much
My real answer is a tie between Katia in Pandora's box and Darklaw in the crossover, since they're both ~mysterious women~ that we don't get to see a lot of everyday personality from. Katia would be a fun companion to have around Folsense and we could get some insight into her feelings about going there, and Darklaw might have been an interesting addition to the Professor/Maya dynamic in the Eldwitch woods.

What do you think Tartar’s favorite weapon class would be? (I’d say Splatlings, Chargers, or Brellas)
Ijust got to this oops UHMMM im thinking mayyybe splatlings considering the laser NILS uses looks similar to a gatling gun in a way. I can see chargers and perhaps sloshers... like bloblobber or sloshing machine

Oh, there's an interesting range between 2 dragons of mine.
Not sure if i'll do anything about it considering my gene choices for these guys. (Also yes, I did settle by myself on one of the two scries that I bugged Tumblr about for Nimbus !)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't currently have the treasure to finish geneing Nimbus, but that's chill. I'm not, like, in a hurry, and I have no idea if the mix would do any good for now- I'll look at some baby previews after i gene him.

3 and 31 for writing asks!
3. How would you describe your writing style?
Indulgently descriptive, shamelessly sentimental, prone to a lot of accidental alliteration (see, literally can't help myself)
31. What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?
Haaa well the cheat answer is I have so few fics (and even fewer finished fics that I've posted) that it's hard to say! I will say that, when I did finally decide to properly write Orchards, the bulk of writing for that fic happened in this very quick and natural way that I've never experienced before or since (cry). I think it's probably because I wasn't sure if I was going to share it, there were no deadlines and or expectations for it, it was just a thing I'd been thinking about doing for such a long time and it was written to answer a question for myself as a reader (namely, how does someone fall in love and not realise it). So it just sort of poured out in this really exhilarating way, and the difficult part was finding the confidence to share it. Then I stupidly and naively assumed all writing afterwards would be as straightforward as that, and everything since has been much harder, lol.
Beasts continues to be a challenge but that was sort of deliberate - like, I wanted to prove to myself that I could pull it off, and I have things I want to say with it that I'm enjoying the thorny work of figuring out how to execute it and say them. I guess the WIP that I have consistently been dissatisfied with is the postwar summer fic I'm forever technically working on, the sort-of mirror to Orchards. I've scrapped and rewritten so many versions of it because I worry so much about getting it right and probably over-wrung it a bit. I worry a lot that actually I can't really honour how much a very mundane and stationary kind of grief would be a part of that summer experience in a way that actually wouldn't be all that interesting for a reader. I feel like if you want to get grief right, then it can't be neat or easily disciplined into writerly shapes or conceits or structures, and that makes it such a slippery topic to work with as a writer? I remain so so so impressed and envious of writers who can write about it and make it work for them.
A long-winded cop-out answer, sorry @ashesandhackles (but thank you so much!) (Also thanks to @evesaintyves and @indigo-scarf who also asked about 3)

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? 👀
Oh! This is a fun one okay akdkflf
So like, thinking about it for a bit I'd probably go with shape-shifting tbh, ability to be stronger, smaller, taller,, to be beautiful or blend in and disappear, whatever the need is. Especially since I've always loved the idea of characters who can take animal forms so there's that lol opens up a lot of other options too w wings and aquatic animals.
Like ajdkfl other two thoughts are being able to talk to animals cause love those little guys or just ability to straight up disappear cause,,, yeah,, social anxiety is sm fun/s
But tbh think both of those are covered well enough for my liking w the first one lol
