-i have been convinced by the rest of the void that gareth has sisters and i haven’t been the same since. in my head, there are two, and they’re younger, and he’s this sweet ass older brother.

-when his sisters see you with a braid in your hair when you're over one day, they want you to teach them how to do that. you’re more than happy to agree, but whisper to them, "maybe your brother will let you practice on his hair." it only makes the best sense, since you won’t always be there to help them. they are more than thrilled with the idea.

-gareth sees the three of you conspiring in the living room. “are you plotting my murder with a couple of children?” you burst out laughing and they patter over to reveal their master plan to him. “oh, she said that did she?” his eyes find yous over the top of their heads. “yeah, okay. you can practice on me whenever you want.”

-he swears constantly in front of them too, but will always turn around with a hurried, “don’t repeat that. you heard nothing. nothing, i tell you.”

-can and will fall asleep anywhere. if you're the one driving, gareth is going to sleep. do not count on having conversation with him, because he's already sliding down in the passenger seat, taking a little nap. it doesn’t matter if it’s the shittiest road known to man. he’s gonna sleep. one day you caught him slipping a small pillow in your glove compartment, and when you questioned his action, he shushed you and said, "for my naps. duh."

-pizza fiend. loves that shit. wants it way too often. you’re sitting on the couch with him and look over, asking “what do you want for dinner, baby?” and he turns his head, curls swaying, this dumb ass grin on his face. “we could go get pizza, baby.”

-if you shift because your back is tense, or your hip is starting to hurt, or your shoulder, anything--he's on it. "what’s wrong, princess? somethin’ hurtin'? want me to rub it?" he doesn't like for you to be in pain in any way.

-sometimes he forgets it's okay to buy himself something or do something for his own pleasure. whenever he's got extra cash, he wants to buy his siblings something, or even you, or just make sure he's got some money saved. so when there's a new album out, or a pin in the fifty cent bin at the record store that he likes, you have to remind him that it's okay to get himself something too.

-one time you had a slip-up, and called him "gare bear," but he liked it. you'd just gotten to his house, and let yourself in. "where's my gare bear?" you'd said, calling out since he wasn't in the living room, not really thinking about your words. like that, he appeared, poking his head out down the hall, smile on his face, cheeks pinked. "did you just call me 'gare bear'? holy shit, you're so in love with me." and he'd practically cackled.

-but the next time to called for him, asking, "gareth? can you bring me my notebook?" he'd shown up, notebook in hand, and pouted at you. "what happened to 'gare bear,' huh?"

-gareth can be a fucking tease sometimes. he'll slide up behind you and start rubbing his hands up and down your sides, your hips, start pressing hot kisses to your neck, tongue meeting your skin every few seconds. or maybe you're in bed, lying on your back reading, and he shows up, straddles your thighs, and starts doing the same thing. touching you. kissing wherever there is skin exposed. and then he'll leave. he'll hop up and go back to whatever he was doing. leaving you there, a smile on his face and lips all swollen from loving on you.

-his resting face tends to make him look like a grump. he once told you that people used to pick on him for looking so mean all the time, but you fixed that. you’d squished your hands against his cheeks, proclaiming, “you’re my grump.”

-likes to be told he’s pretty. you were the first person who said so, and he blushes every time you point it out. because he is so so pretty. maybe he picks you up for school. “mornin’ pretty boy.” he’s smiling and stifling a giggle. maybe he’s sitting on the couch and you’re running your hands up his tummy, his thighs, and he shivers. “feel good, pretty boy?” he groans. “y—yeah, yeah. shit.” and he slaps his hand against the armrest, finding it hard to believe that the nickname makes him feel so loved and so hot all over at once.

When you wipe away their kiss

Eddie: He'd probably laugh and say, "Hey what was that for?" Then, he'd follow up with a tickle attack if you refused to answer or because you admitted it was a joke. If you did actually answer, then he'd give you an over-the-top kiss as he dipped you dramatically as a sort of reward for your honesty.

Gareth: At first he’d probably be a little shocked but then he thinks he’d probably end up trying to get you back by wiping away one of the kisses you gave. He thinks that’d be a fun little game to continue with you. Maybe you’d start seeing who can get the most kisses. He thinks it’d be a fun little competition and try to make the other blush and smile.

Steve: He'd be pretty surprised, honestly but he'd just laugh it off. He knew that you were just joking with him, and he trusts that you love him, so in the end, it wouldn't really affect him too much. But it would definitely be a funny moment.

Robin: Would giggle and look surprised, but with a happy kind of surprise - then she would lean in for another kiss. "Don't play games with me," she says light-heartedly. "Just give me another one of your kisses and I'll be a happy girl." She would give you a kiss on the cheek and smile at you but if you wiped another off than she'll wait or make you give her one.

Nancy: Momentarily shocked at having her kiss so easily brushed to the side, her face flushes with embarrassment, then she would give you an equally playful shove, all while giggling sweetly. "You really shouldn't do that," she says, before kissing your cheek and ruffling your hair good-naturedly, still giggling the entire time.

Jonathan: would probably be one of amusement he could see it as an innocent, playful gesture and he would probably respond by leaning in for another kiss, with a smile on his face. If the situation was more serious, he might feel a bit hurt, as if you were rejecting his affection. In that case, he would probably feel the need to have a long sit-down conversation with you about your feelings toward each other and your expectations for your relationship.

Argyle: Would find it playful and teasing and wouldn't be offended by it. His cheeks would pinken, showing that he was excited by the flirtatious behavior. In response to your kiss being wiped away, he would laugh and try kissing you again, showing you it didn't deter him or upset him. He wasn't offended, so he didn't see your actions as wrong or too forward.

Billy: Would think you don’t want to kiss him so he would get all moody and walk away from you. He would then proceed to get a drink at the bar and drink away his sorrows by drinking.

Henry: Would respond with a playful pout, before returning the favor. "Oh, I see how it is! Don't start something you can't finish~" He'll say, a smirk spreading over his face, eyes dancing with mischief. He's not one to give up easily and won't be letting you have the advantage.

gareth is the oldest sibling in my mind. he has two younger sisters who are significantly younger than him (so they’re like 10 and 7)

corroded coffin practices are held at his house because a) his parents were the only ones willing to give up their garage and b) the rest of the band likes when his mom brings them snacks and drinks

his family probably has a guest room they let eddie stay in on the occasion things get bad between him and his uncle

his mom loves meeting his friends because she likes seeing who helped him come out of his shell after middle school. she’s just the sweetest woman ever

his dad probably pretends to disapprove of the band but when the neighbors complain about the noise, mr. emerson is out on the front lawn in a heartbeat, absolutely defending his son’s interests

friends:

he met jeff when they were both in middle school (they were band kids sorry) and they met eddie later. so gareth’s besties with jeff but they both look up to eddie

he and jeff got into DnD in middle school together, and then when they got to high school they joined hellfire. eddie recruited them into corroded coffin afterward

he’s the kind of close to jeff that makes their classmates think they’re dating.  it’s annoying that others don’t understand you can just have close friends, but they’re always laughing between just the two of them and they’re pretty physically close most of the time and do everything together, it gets taken the wrong way

like. have you ever seen those tik toks that are like “when you think you’re the only person in love with your boyfriend but then you meet his best friend” ? that’s you with gareth and jeff

i don’t think gareth’s the kind of guy to bring any of his best friends on dates with u or something, but the hellfire club members are for sure a safe subject with him. if there’s ever an awkward silence, ask him about what happened during the last campaign or what merciless villain eddie put them up against or what he and jeff did last week to prank the dickheads on the basketball team and he will TALK

he def has some friends outside of hellfire/corroded coffin but they’re just kinda different acquaintances from various classes- like his go-to’s when there’s a group project and they sometimes have short conversations if they see each other outside of class, yknow ?

despite what seems to be a resting bitch face, he seems like one of the more calm, sociable people in the group, so i feel like it’s easy for him to make friends. he just chooses to stick with his group

gareth seems like the kind to get quite a few mini-crushes but nothing too serious. til he meets you ooooooo

he probably forgets to actually ever call you his partner/girlfriend/boyfriend to your face at any point, so when someone stops to ask him if you’re single he rushes to make sure you know you two are dating and exclusive

as many have said, he doesn’t seem big on pda. quick kisses at most, but preferably nothing more than hand holding when the guys are around or else he’ll never hear the end of the teasing

but he is the most touchy person in private for sure. he’s such a small spoon it kills me

When you fall asleep on their shoulder

Eddie:

It's cute that you're comfortable enough with him to sleep. He'd wake you up gently with a hand to your side holding you close and a soft smile, gives you a little kiss on the cheek to let you know he's here. It's sweet, and kind of adorable, even if it's a little funny to see.

Oh, he would never even try to wake you up. Maybe a little bit of noise but not a lot at all but can't help moving around or practically squealing with happiness and he would never wake you up because of the way you are just laying on him it’s so adorable and he loves the feeling of your head on his chest it makes his heart feel so fuzzy.

It gives him a rush. He feels like he's needed, that he's important to somebody, and that he matters to someone that's not his uncle. It gives him butterflies because he feels so cared for and he feels so special. He'll want to mess with you but just chooses to tease heavily once you wake up and never lets it go and will joke that he's the best body pillow when he notices your tired.

Gareth:

His reaction to that would be pretty much shock, considering he's never been in a romantic situation before. If you fell asleep on him he kinda freezes not sure what to do, he'd be pretty flustered and taken aback. So in that case, I guess he'd probably just sit there and let you nap on his shoulder because it's really cute to him.

Oh, absolutely teases you for it. You'll just wake up and look all confused, and then figure out what happened, and likes to see you get all blushy and embarrassed. It's adorable. And yes, he might give you a little kiss just to make the blush bigger.

He finds it very cute and sweet it is a great sign of trust in a relationship that you feel comfortable enough to fall asleep on him and that’s very special and something to treasure.

When you fall asleep on his shoulder it makes him really happy, he just wants to hold you forever. It’s so peaceful, it just makes him feel so loved and wanted. She would gently run her fingers through your hair or up and down your back lightly and hold you close to her because she would want to remember every second of it. Every single second.

She would feel both touched and annoyed. Touched, because you clearly trust her enough to fall asleep in her presence and annoyed because you fell asleep mid-conversation. It’s a very odd mix of emotions. She would probably brush a lock of hair out of your face and let out a long breath.

Gives you so much attention when you wake up and loves all over you not even giving you a chance to be embarrassed or shy about the fact that you fell asleep on him, does, in fact, check in with you more after that or lets you sleep on him again while he gets bullied by everyone for letting you use him like a personal pillow.

He is delighted when you fall asleep on his shoulder, it shows that you feel comfortable around him and are able to trust him. He feels safe and content when this happens, and it makes him feel even more connected to you.

At first, he's surprised because it’s a situation that he didn’t expect at all. But quickly he felt comfort. It’s a little comforting to know the other person trusts you with something so vulnerable. It’s like nothing else matters. But then somewhere in his brain kicks in and he starts to worry that you'll will start snoring.

He really wanted to be mad at you, he wants to shove you off and be like "Dude are you for real, I need to focus" But he can't, you're just so adorable, looking so peaceful. He just doesn't have the heart to move you or wake you up. It makes him feel weird and soft, but he won't lie there's something to it. It's nice. He'd give up a lot to have you do that more.

A little pissed at first, but then I start to find it kind of cute. You know he's not exactly a romantic kind of guy, but there's a part of him that likes the feeling that someone was comfortable enough around him to just fall asleep like that. It's sweet.

Oh, definitely, he'd sneak up on you and tickle your feet, or maybe tie your shoelaces together so you trip when you get up. He'd put some black makeup around his eyes it would be so much fun, maybe he'd draw a little mustache on your face with eyeliner or draw a funny picture on your forehead with a marker. Something like that. Just some mild, harmless fun to give himself a little laugh when you wake up.

Henry:

He's not an emotional person, but after all that has happened, a certain vulnerability arises when you trust him enough to sleep on him. He'd never admit it in front of an audience, but it would certainly be a wholesome feeling.

It's quite nice. The fact that you feel so close and comfortable with him that you'll fall asleep on his shoulder is a wonderful sign of trust and friendship. You've only done it once or twice, but it means so much to him, the fact that you trust him that much.

And to be honest, he wouldn't want to move for anything anyway, which makes it even better. He would just keep the moments like that, and let you sleep in peace, while he silently watches over you, and keeps you safe.

Gareth is a big nerd about bugs, he was the kid who got dirt in his clothes every day because he was looking at bugs in school fascinated by them.

That’s how he met Eddie, he protected him from some older kids who were making fun of Gareth because his only company in the playground were the snails he was observing that day, the bullies got away after a while but still smashed the bugs, still Eddie helped him to give them a proper funeral.

Eventually they became inseparable even though Gareth was minor than him, Wayne has some photos of them hanging out in the trailer park where the freckled kid was showing at his nephew the most fascinating creatures: worms (their words, not his).

He also has photos of them playing to be the protectors of the bugs using sticks as swords, that was what gave him the idea of Eddie’s birthday present: a funny book with a dragon in the cover that was named as a manual for a game.
