Review of Harley Quinn S1E6: “You’re a Damn Good Cop, Jim Gordon”

Warning! Spoilers ahead! 

Okay, so this episode overall was very hilarious! I love how Harley learns an important lesson about sticking together with her found family and trying to not let her obsession with getting into the Legion of Doom completely take over her life. I mean, she still has a way to go. But character growth! Yay!! I’m really enjoying watching Harley grow into her own badass supervillain. Isn’t she just adorable? I love her. 

I will say 0/10 because there was no Fank in this episode. You could see him in the background, but he didn’t offer any sassy remarks. How rude, DC! How rude! However, 10/10 because of Jim and Batman’s appearance. And oh god, Jim is absolutely losing it. I can’t. The poor man absolutely needs to take a nice, long vacation away from Gotham. With his wife. And maybe some sleep. And some friends who aren’t vigilantes or cops. Yeah. Jim also needs therapy really bad. 

And then Bruce. I love how you still get the grumpy Bat in this episode, but then his screensaver on the computer gives away his soft and mushy side. It’s adorable. I need to print out the screenshot where Bruce has two birthday cone hats on his head because that shit is hilarious! Such an adorable grumpy Bat. (Don’t mind me cooing some more.) I’m a little sad we didn’t get to see Damian. But I guess I’ll just have to go rewatch the other episode with him in it. 

It’s really fucked up the relationship Psycho has with his son. But it’s also kinda (I guess???) sweet that he makes amends with his son. And shows that he cares about his kid. In his own fucked up way. That part of the episode leaves me with so many freaking questions. So. Many. And Psycho’s ex-wife’s new boyfriend. What a freaking himbo. I can see the appeal. I guess. I mean, I don’t completely think Ivy is crazy for wanting to steal that himbo for herself. #KindaRelatable. If you know, I was a supervillain. 

Can I just say that Clayface’s hand stole the show? Because it absolutely did. Which is not something I ever thought I would type, but here we are. I just think it’s kinda hilarious (and strange) that pieces of Clayface would develop their own personalities if they’re separated from their host. I thought in the comics that they just turned into blobs of goo and were useless. And that Clayface could regrow limbs at will? I haven’t really read or seen much with Clayface in it, however, so I may be wrong. I obviously need to go look at some source material of Clayface because now I’m darn curious. 

Amazingly, I think Clayface is my favorite character in this series at the moment. I mean, the leading ladies are really good. I like Harley and all the character growth she’s going through. And I really like how sarcastic and badass Ivy is. (Honestly, she’s tied for my second favorite with Harley and Frank the Plant.) Buuuuuut, there’s just something about this version of Clayface that I really like. I think it’s because dramatic theatre kids are drawn towards each other. Yeah, that might be part of it. The voice actor does a really good job with Clayface! I definately need to look him up and see what else he’s done because I’m very much interested.

Can I just say that I am LIVING for how little of Edward’s shit you are taking so far? XD

Honestly, I hated Ed in S1.  I really did.  I mean, some of his attempts of wooing Kristen were kinda cute but he was a creep as well.

I would say that as soon as he started developing more into the Riddler, he was great.  I actually really like the first half of Season 4, where he was just Ed and fixing his friendship with Lee.  As soon as “The Riddler” properly came back, I went “Nope!  Nope!  Don’t like you anymore!”

I think in the first episode Oswald gets his leg broken and it doesn’t get fixed, so he’s left with the limp

I think “Arrow” explained McGregor’s Sydrome from “Batman and Robin” as sort of like an extreme form of pneumonia.  And I’ve heard other people say that Nora has Huntington’s disease.

Well the prescription drug she uses in the episode [Formoterol] tipped me off that it was some kind of respiratory problem- it’s some kind of asthma medication that helps clear up the airway.  So it could be either or. 

Plus in the Arkham games, they diagnose Nora with “Huntington’s Chorea.”

And also, Nora isn’t the first person to have this “McGregor’s disease.”  It pops up in CW’s “The Flash” when we see Iris and Wally’s mom appear for like half an episode and yeah it pops up in “Arrow” (which honestly, I have no desire in seeing).

MatPat on YouTube actually did a Film Theory video about this, which I highly suggest checking out.  He basically concluded that it’s basically an extreme form of lung cancer.

Well, the first time I watched that episode, I was thrown off by Ecco.  I was just sitting there going “Wait?  Where else is there another Echo in DC?”  I knew the Echo as in Query and Echo (the Riddler’s henchwomen) but it’s clearly not her.  There’s an Echo in the No Man’s Land comics but the spelling was off (maybe they’re combining thaaaaatt I don’t know...)

But while I was typing up my reaction post for that, I caught Jeremiah’s line and went “Whoa... OK... that’s unexpected.”  Plus, like three episodes, bam! we got our Joker!  So hearing that line from our Proto-Joker, it threw me off.

Plus, I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that Jeremiah and Ecco are gonna be together in some capacity in S5 (as our proper Proto-Joker and Proto-Harley) so I’m definitely intrigued about this... relationship, I’m gonna call it.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme originally from Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things I have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on my blog.

I so forgot my Sunday Post last week, so I’ve combined the two as one big one. Not much exciting has happened these past two weeks. Been tired a lot lately, especially the last few days. My bf has a kind of flu thingy and gets a weird sleep cycle because of it, which results in screwing up my sleep as well… Feel like I could sleep for two days straight and still not have enough sleep… Fell asleep on the couch at least four times in the last few days… One at night and most during the days, watching a movie or episode… Maybe it’s also the winter coming down at my energy levels… It’s cold, sad weather and not much to do… And especially with him having the flu, it means I can’t do a lot – besides reading, sleeping, eating, cooking, blogging or watching an episode or movie – I know you need your rest when not feeling well, so I won’t bother him with too much noise and stuff… But it’s gets kinda boring after a few days… In combination with my sleepiness, it makes me less motivated to watch or read anything.. So it get’s real boring.. Hope he feels better soon and I feel more energetic again… Gotta work out tomorrow again, prepare for my first Taekwondo exam on February 3rd!!

One exciting thing that did happen was discussing out holiday. It’s becoming more permanently set and booked =]=]=]=]=] I so wanna go to Orlando and Harry Potter’s Wizarding World…. Biggest issue is saving money to spend there hahahahaha

Big thingy did happen on the blog…. I WROTE/PUBLISHED/ MY FIRST REVIEW IN THREE MONTHS AGAIN!!!!!

So in the last two weeks I’ve had a great start of this year’s Goodreads Reading Challenge 2017. I’ve finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I’ve read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them all by J.K. Rowling and The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid.

I’m currently reading Breath of Fire by Amanda Bouchet [Kingmaker Chronicles #2] as a NetGalley review, Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling and Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. After Breath of Fire I’ll start reading Halfway Bitten by Terry Maggert and/or The Gender Secret by Bella Forrest. After Snow Like Ashes I’ll start Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. That beautiful hardcover will arrive this Tuesday and so I hope I’ve finished reading Snow Like Ashes before it arrives =]

So these two weeks I watched A LOT of episodes… If you’ve noticed a weird watching order with bones that’s true nothing is weird there… Apart from the fact that the first two episodes of Season 4 were a double episode and my streamer made episode 1 episode 1&2 and made episode 2 number 3 and so on… So I got confused in the episode titles and figured it out after watching episode 8 hahaha… A bit late, I know but I’ve watched the missing episode after all…

My bf finally wants to watch series again during dinner – instead of brain-dead comedy central re-runs – and now we’re watching Modern Family S8. We’ve watched How I Met You Mother as our dinner series before Modern Family and You’re the Worst will probably be our next. We also watch a few others together, but mostly they wait a long time because of the snack series [HIMYM and Modern Family, eps of 20-23 minutes instead of at least 40 minutes an episode]. Those are Gotham, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Scorpion. The rest of the shows can’t be watched together because of work, our preferences in watching series and our progress if watching the same series.. haha we love a lot of the same things, but in some series I’m ahead of him and some he’s ahead of me.. So we watch together separately mostly lol.
