i got to eat at cítricos today :)
first i ordered a mocktail >:). i am a big fan of those, and this one was no different. it was called “Paradise Punch” and the flavors were great. “melted sugar, Caribbean spices, scraped vanilla bean, strawberry, orgeat (almond), and citrus”.
they brought out some warm bread, ciabatta (a favorite of mine :3) and a Kalamata olive sourdough.  These were really nice paired with the salted butter, house made with florida citrus peels as inclusions :).
i ordered the strawberry salad as an appetizer, which was super yummy- the combo between the savory goat cheese and sweet strawberries was so amazing. the lettuce was a little bitter, but the strawberry jam used in the salad was really nice to cancel it out.
for my entree i ordered the New York Strip!! this was a whopping 12 oz of steak and it was really good :) they served it with broccolini and a “potato purée”. The sauce served with the steak is a Bordelaise sauce, which i JUST googled. According to said google search it is made from dry red wine, bone marrow, shallots, and sauce demiglace. It also was served with Cippolini Jam, a strong onion suited for braising due to the sweet flavor it will take on. This paired well with the super savory nature of the sauce, salty enough to be comparable to a dark soy sauce.
The steak was so meaty, and I ordered mine medium, though i might order steak a bit rarer in the future. I did not care for the broccolini, and the potatoes were really great.
