The Hall of the Holy Mother: One of the Oldest Places of Worship
The Hall of the Holy Mother (聖母殿) in Jinci Temple (晉祠), Shanxi. Built during the reign of Emperor Renzong (仁宗) of the Northern Song dynasty (1023-1032).
The hall is part of the ever evolving temple complex founded about one and a half thousand years ago. Over the centuries of countless transformations, it has accumulated buildings of various periods and styles.
The temple is dedicated to Shuimu (水母), The Old Mother of Waters, witch-goddess of Chinese lore, appearing in the form of a dragon, a snake or a charming lady with a sword and a yoke.

A woman carried us as an egg since fetal development, created us decades later still was creating our bodies within every cell and bone in her body, carried us and went to through toils, pain and hardship of labor and childbirth to give us life for days and months yet we had been given a man’s name and we live in a patriarchal society.
Make it make sense

Why Ezra hid with the... turtles?
Lakesis: The ritual. To preform it requires a sacrifice. Thrawn: Sacrifice? I nominate Ezra. Ezra: Wait, what? Thrawn: Because you're little, you'll fit on a barbecue. Ezra: I'm 5'9, it's like average height in most of the galaxy! Lakesis: Its not that kind of of sacrifice guys!
Lakesis is the name of one of the great mothers by the way.

These rites came on the twenty-fourth of March, a day that was called, significantly enough, the "Day of Blood." At this time the Great Mother of the Gods inspired her devotees with a frenzy surpassing that which the followers of Dionysus knew. It was a madness induced not by wine, but by the din of crashing music, the dizzy whirling of the dance, and the sight of blood. The music which accompanied these rites was wild and barbaric, made by clashing cymbals and blatant horns, shrilling flutes and rolling drums. […] To the accompaniment of these barbaric strains a dance was staged. With wagging heads and streaming hair, the devotees of the Great Mother whirled their bodies round and round in a dizzy dance, shouting and singing as they gyrated. […] Slashing their arms with knives, or gashing their bodies, the worshipers sprinkled with their own blood the sacred tree that was Attis. […] When the Great Mother saw the freely flowing blood of her worshipers, she could not doubt that they shared with her in her sorrow. The blood may well have been intended, also, to appease the manes of the dead Attis or to strengthen him for his resurrection. To imitate Cybele in her grief and to call Attis back to life were the purposes of this bloody rite.

Just because the Goddess and Her priestesses may have been referred to as 'Whores' by patriarchal religion doesn't mean we have to. We don't have to 'reclaim' it. It's a degrading word and a slur against women and not one we need to be associating ourselves or the Divine Mother with.

Women, what does it mean to take care of yourself in alignment with honouring the Goddess?
That means that you celebrate your incredible feminine essence through self-nurturance that is non-competitive, non-harmful and non-violent.
The Shakti vibration always seeks expression through beauty, art, decoration and adornment.
The body of a woman who is in touch with her Divine Spirit will radiate natural beauty and feminine light, and all other accoutrements will be enhancers of this radiance.
If you are in connection with your own Goddess-Self, you will find it easier to repudiate damaging media imagery and ideas of female perfection.
You will come gently into a place of self-love, in which feeding your body the food and beverages it truly needs for spiritual celebration will be a joy, not a battle.
As you prioritise your spiritual development, and harness your inner Divine Feminine Nature, you'll want to bask in your own unique Shakti luminousness, and will cease harsh, negative comparisons with other women which rips at the Soul of Womankind.
The Goddess will guide you to wear colours, scents and fabrics that enhance the expression of your vast inner light.
She will lead you to the cosmetics, toiletries and hair care products that don't harm your body.
She will almost always guide you to get rid of your greying, tired clothes and wear the most beautiful, well-fitting clothes and knickers possible!
You are worth taking exceptional care of, and it is not self-indulgent or superficial to want to honour the Goddess through feeling beautiful on the outside.
Being overly-focused upon 'looks' is only detrimental to a woman when she is empty inside and has not connected to her own inner power and presence.
It is only then that she can become hooked in to the self-esteem-bashing elements of the beauty and fashion industry.
Be disciplined and firm in your own boundaries around this area: if you feel any emotions of lack, 'less than', depleted or not good enough when read women's magazines or go into a certain clothes or make-up store - stop engaging with this energy.
Only engage with words, images and environments that celebrate the Power of the Feminine 💋

Im baptised Anglican. But it wasn't ever about the Church.
It was about me. The Holy Spirit. Sophia. Jesus.
About me finding myself. About learning /attaining Gnosis. About seeing God, the Gods, in my own way. It was about Marian Consecration. About love and peace.
*not* the church.
