I had a HC that Aurene in Tyrian form would probably take after the Commander (+Caithe for sylvari), and I took it as an excuse to test out my new tablet--

But also, expanding on the HC with more Thoughts...

I imagine she would actually be hilariously bad at shapeshifting at first, like a slippery slope down uncanny valley.

She'd pass the "looks ok from across the room" test, but get too close and you notice all the little imperfections (or lack thereof). She never blinks, her skin is too flawless, she has too many teeth, her hair glows whenever she laughs??

Sometimes, she forgets that Asura only have 4 fingers, or that Sylvari aren't supposed to glow all the time, or that other races aren't supposed to glow at all.

I have been told that Aurene is like Jesus of Tyria, and well.

You know how there are like, cults in real life regarding Christianity and all that. Not to say that real life has to seep into video games because I disagree with that, but there’s something off-putting about the way Crystal Blooms worships Aurene.

They all seek to heal people, bring “order” to the world in a way that she deems “appropriate”. The fact that virtually everyone sees them as good guys and praises Aurene without any objections whatsover (for the most part) makes it eeriely similar to Christianity, so much so that it feels too good to be true. Oh and anyone who is against her always turns out to be a villain in one way or another, which certainly doesn’t help since it ends up reinforcing the Tyrian view of her being the force of pure goodness.

I can’t tell if it’s just some kind of writing decisions that makes her so morally pristine, or if Anet is planning to do something that reveals her follower’ true nature later on, namely something sinister brewing within that seeks to exploit her virtues for their own selfish gains and alike.
