I 've gOt yoU

After a very long hiatus (3-4years?! time flies :@@@) which I believed to be permanent since I don't have hopes for a fifth season, I found myself going back to good old Sherlock and I was happy to see I still enjoy it! Not only that but it seems that this distance from the relentless binge watching I was practicing back in the day helped me notice details that had escaped me and get a fuller picture of Moftiss plot and intentions - something I couldn't do right after S4 when I was mad at them. While I am still very disappointed at the way they finished this beautiful story, my anger has mellowed a little.

One of the things I realized right when my brain was Sherlock-vacant was that the solution of IOU on which I wasted months was hidden in plain sight, in the actual dialogue. I hope there are more people who didn't realise, otherwise if it is only me who makes the connection just now, writing this post is going to make me feel very very stupid.

So yeah, IOU means I've got you. It doesn't seem like much but it is very meaningful in its subtlety. But where is this stated in the episode, what does the code mean, what is it meant for and why is this the code chosen by Jim Moriarty?

After he is found no guilty by the juries, Moriarty visits Sherlock for tea. There he prepares him for what is about to happen next. In addition, Moriarty leaves two codes for Sherlock to decipher. The one is the binary code he taps with his fingers. The other is the IOU (I owe you) which he carves on the apple.

Well, he gave us the meaning, right? I owe you? Well, not quite. Jim plays a little game. The surface meaning is "I owe you (a fall)" but the code has both some usage and an underlying, more important reason it exists. Besides, how does Sherlock owe Moriarty anything? For more on the "I owe you" part, you can read the "I.O.U a fall" meta. I wrote it in 2016 and it is dated but I still stand by some points made there. For example, that the apple is a symbol of lust, sin and temptation.

Back on track now. Sherlock takes the case of the two kidnapped children. While in the laboratory with Molly, he keeps muttering what IOU might be. So Sherlock thinks there's more to it than just being an abbreviation for "I owe you". For some reason, Sherlock hides the IOU riddle both from Molly and especially John.

A little later, after the kids are found, Sherlock is quite shocked when he realizes the children believe him to be their kidnapper. Not only he does not understand how Moriarty achieved this but he gradually starts worrying about himself, his reputation and where all this is heading. Based on his own childhood trauma, Sherlock was probably also shocked to see he inspired terror to a child. Sherlock looks worried and grim out of the windows of Scotland Yard.

And the IOU appears in front of him. Sherlock is scared and realizes the deciphering of IOU is indeed pressing. The IOU first appeared on an apple and the time that Sherlock was feeling bad. The third time is when police turns against Sherlock and John and they are running away.

The dark winged angel graffiti. A fallen angel? A guardian angel? A fallen guardian angel perhaps? It doesn't matter, much.

After he has talked privately to Molly and while John is still with him, Sherlock deduces secretly what the binary code is. He then invites Moriarty there and waits. Moriarty plans a scheme to get John away - sends him to find a supposedly dying Mrs Hudson (oh yes, it was Moriarty who sent John away, not Sherlock, this is canon btw, check this)

and then informs Sherlock he has arrived. This probably means Sherlock had already figured what IOU was before inviting him but I am not ruling out the possibility that he had an epiphany during the rooftop scene.

So then a proud Sherlock tells Jim he found the binary code and it is all over. Jim responds that the code is fake and he is an idiot. Sherlock is shaken and on top of that Jim convinces him that there's no way for this to end other than Sherlock falling to his death. Sherlock tries to threaten him but it's futile. Jim clarifies that only Sherlock's death can call off the killers because he is certainly not gonna do it.

Jim gives Sherlock a moment, during which Sherlock has his epiphany, which is none other than the realization that Moriarty once again does not mean to kill him but has planned his fake suicide. (NOTE! If you are new to my blog, I recommend reading my Analyzing the Rooftop Scene meta. It is the core of my Sherlock theory and the main reason I made this blog. Not only I still stand by it with all my heart five years later but Series 4 also reinforced my faith in it. Well maybe except for one thing which however doesn’t affect the point I am trying to make. In short, the reason Sherlock never explained to anyone how he faked his death is because it was Jim's plan and not his own. Jim did not want Sherlock dead. So Sherlock realizes Jim has prepared his fake suicide and starts laughing arrogantly because, honestly, this is kinda telling for Jim's feelings and motives.

Not only the suicide is fake but Moriarty also let something slip. This is turning into a good day.

SHERLOCK: (confidently and mockingly approaches Moriarty) You are not going to do it? So the killers can be called off then. There is a recall code or a word or a number... I don't have to die... (singingly) if I've - got - you!

Jim's legit reaction:

Moriarty: (the hell of surprised but tries to keep calm and intimidating) Oh! You think you can make me stop the order, you think you can make me do that?!

Sherlock: (extremely confident) Yes. So do you.

So IOU was the code in case Moriarty wanted to call off the killers. He planted it in Sherlock's mind along with the binary code. The binary code might have meant nothing in the end but this one did. It was the red herring and the actual solution. Which also means that Moriarty gave Sherlock the chance to work on saving his friends and beating him from the beginning. He literally gave him the code to stop his own plan. The only condition for Sherlock was to understand what the abbreviation truly meant and then convince Jim to actually say it.

Why did Jim take this risk? Well, much like Irene, he couldn't help it. Irene is a mirror for Moriarty on so many levels. I had written this meta but I saw the URL is broken. Thankfully, I have kept archives and I will re-upload it soon. Anyway, Jim used a truth as his code for losing - or surrendering - just like Irene used SHERLOCKED - because he didn't actually expect Sherlock to find this one. To understand the deep root behind all the chaos.

And Sherlock was now sure he could make Jim say it. (again recommending Analyzing the Rooftop scene for that, because I already talk about it there)

"I've got you"

I am not a NES speaker so I visited some websites to be exactly sure of the meaning and ironically this is the first thing I stumbled into:

Yeah... what are the odds... In general, the meanings are:

I'm holding you

I'm helping you

I understand you

I saved you

I am protecting you

In short, Moriarty was telling him that he wouldn't let him die by the fall... or in general. And "I've got you" is as close as Moriarty could be honest about his deeper motives.

Even Eurus, two seasons later, does not want Sherlock dead. It is not clear if this was Moriarty's condition or Eurus didn't wish his death either. But Moriarty himself definitely meant to keep Sherlock alive. Of course, he didn't keep the same stance for the people Sherlock loved. Quite, the contrary. I love this ship but let's be real, it is not exactly a healthy romance. Moriarty's motto was "Live with me or live in pain".

Moriarty understood that once Sherlock knew his deeper truth, he indeed was risking losing and surrendering to Sherlock without being rewarded. When Sherlock tries to persuade him, what?, essentially that they can work it out together, for a mere second Jim has faith. But Sherlock can't hide his fear for long and Moriarty accepts there is no hope. He kills (let me always hope he didn't) himself right there and then because he can not compete with John and thus he will not allow Sherlock to defeat him and go on with his life. And John.

Sorry for being a broken record but I explain all this step by step with images in the main meta, this one already became huge enough.

The summary is that IOU was Moriarty's love, or predatory obsession if you prefer, or both honestly, for Sherlock. Sherlock deciphered it and made Jim vulnerable to defeat. Moriarty finally accepted that Sherlock could not be his and killed himself. Vengeance would follow with his back-up plan, in the face of Eurus.

*There is always the possibility it means "I love you". But it's more OOC for Moriarty and I honestly think they just gave it to us under our noses!

** I always add at pivotal moments that I believe Sherlock was attracted to Moriarty, was lowkey obsessed too and respected him deeply. He had already fallen for John before meeting Jim though and, of course, even if he hadn't, he still wouldn't be able to overcome his moral inhibitions. Romance is already hard enough for him with a "normal" person.

BTW, I'm looking for a fic where Draco was deaged during potion class. As usual, Harry took him in. Ok, I'm over it!

So my shipper heart was broken when the engagement news broke out. I was sad for a day n it also didn't help that my colleague pissed me off that same day at work. But when I got to bed, thinking over some stuff, my misery was over. Yeah, I'm really happy for Kit n Rose! I have to give it to Rose for keeping her man well, as well as tolerating all the rumors n yup, that very steamy sex scene betw the bf n bff.

Now as to how I got over my misery? Well, i cud say that i somehow started to relate to the whole story. I always wondered why kit n Emilia never got into a relationship first. Some of u may say it's bad timing n I agree but it's also how one feels about each other. I felt that perhaps Em had no intention to fall for kit, or anyone else in the GoT cast. It's probably juz a choice she made. Alright, I'll go into a true story of my own experience. Many years ago, I dated this guy for like only 2weeks. He's hot, yes. So hot girls threw themselves at him all the time. 2weeks of nice casual dates n even though the sex was great, I told him I wud never date him seriously coz I dun think I'm able to keep other girls from him. Basically I'm not a Rose. I chose the easy friendship over a potentially heartbreaking relationship with a hot commodity. N maybe Emilia chose the same route as I did. Did I regret it? Nope, we still hung out a lot as close friends n talk about everything n anything. We share embarrassing date stories, sex jokes n all. N though there were still some drunk flirting, I was still sober enough not to jump into bed with him. Yeah, we were both single yet I controlled myself becoz I took my friendship with him seriously! One day, he told me there was a girl he seriously like n he wanted my opinion on her. He told me I wud surely like her when I meet her. N I did. His gf was cute n nice(n of coz she doesn't know my hidden history with him or preferred not to know)....n oh coincidentally she has a deep voice like Rose!! I gave him my blessings. They dated for like 3-4years n then everything went downhill n complicated. I'm not gonna go into detail. Long story short..he married someone else in the end. Some girl I never knew coz we were so busy we hardly kept in touch. I only met his new wife on his wedding day! Thing was I did like him but not enough to fall for him. Friendship with him was way more fun n precious to me.

So, yeah, perhaps kimilia wud have been disastrous if it really happened. If you tell me Rose had a smooth ride with kit all these years, I'd never believe it. N if Em n Kit were the ones in a relationship, it'll probably be a worse ride, especially with Em's packed Hollywood schedule!

Also, in defense of some jonerys/kimilia shippers, I juz wanna say that even when others r bashing or mocking you for shipping kimilia, keep faith n ship on their amazing friendship n chemistry on screen. There's no harm as long as you r not sending death threats to rose!

You were friends with Daehyun for a long time. You started to develop feelings for Daehyun. You would blush when he is touching you or when he leans closer to you. At the same time, Daehyun only sees you as his little sister. He would always protect you against others, but it’s different than to protecting someone he loves. He was only caring for you as a good brother. You know that if you confess to him your friendship might turn awkward. So you kept your feelings towards Daehyun to yourself. The next day your pack the last things and left your house. It felt weird to leave everything for a new start of life. But maybe it was something good for you. If you can find a new love you can get over Daehyun you thought. In fact, this made you feel even more depressed.

In the next couple of years, you have changed yourself from a little sister type of girl to a confident lady. You had your own style. You know what you like and dislike. You even had some flirting experience, but you never really dated someone. Somewhere deep down your heart you just couldn’t forget about Daehyun. Your university friends are always saying that you’re such a drama queen to never forget your first love. Friend: “Just forget about your first love!”You: “No you don’t understand me. I can’t forget about Daehyun.”Friend: “Omg here you go again. When are you going to stop making excuses for yourself? You’re old enough to date. There are lots of handsome guys around you and everyone flirts with you. You widened your eyes shocked by the fact that he went so far to buy such an awkward banner for you and to yell like crazy. You: “Oh! Daehyun oppa!”You waved at him. Just to see that he was running after a girl who looks exactly like you from 4 years ago. Girl: “Uwaah! Who are you?”DH: “(y/n)-ah! Don’t you recognise your favourite oppa?”You laughed really hard at this scene just in front of you. You: “HAHAHA”Daehyun heard your laugh and looks at your direction. You: “Yah Jung Daehyun! You babo oppa! How could you not recognise me? I’m the one who should ask that question.”DH: “(Y/n)-ah? Are your really?”You: “Yes I am. Don’t you think that I turned prettier now~”You teased him smiling confidently while turning around. He scans you from head to toe. DH: “Woah daebak! Are you not feeling well?”DH: “Ani.”He opens the door to see you standing close in front of him. You touched his forehead.You: “Hmm luckily it’s not a fever.”Daehyun grabs your hand. You look him in his eyes. DH: “You didn’t date anyone when you were abroad right.”You: “Why do you care? Let me guess because you’re my oppa?”DH: “Answer me.”You: “Don’t worry I didn’t they were below my standards.” You stick your tongue out. DH: “Phew good to hear that.”You: “Tsss I think that it is sad that the person I like doesn’t have any clue at all.” DH: “What? Do you like someone? Who is it?”You: “No I don’t it was 4 years ago anyway.”DH: “Is it someone that I know?”You: “You know him better than anyone. But let us not talk about it.”

A few weeks has passed and Daehyun slowly came to find out about his feelings for you. You still went out with them if you had a day off. At moments when other boys talks to you he would get jealous. He would keep an eye on you all the time. He would make lots of excuses to take you out alone without the others. Daehyun was different than 4 years ago. He turned more caring in a different way and more mature than before.

DH: “Guys I have a problem.”HC: “What is it Daehyun-ah? Tell your hyungs all about it.”DH: “I fell in love with (y/n).”Himchan giggled. HC: “I thought that you would never admit it you babo.”DH: “What should I do?”YG: “Just tell her that you like her.”DH: “How?”HC: “Take her out for dinner and grab a movie. Choose a romantic comedy one. Then bring her home, confess your feelings and try to kiss her at the right moment.”DH: “Kiss?!”HC: “What~ are you too shy for that Daehyunnie~”DH: “Hah! You had dinner with Daehyun and you watched a movie with him. You enjoyed the movie very much. Then the kiss scene played in front of you. You automatically touched your lips and gulped wondering how it would feel if you had kissed Daehyun on his lips that night. Slowly you felt Daehyun’s hand on your shoulder. You look at him. His other hand pulls your hand away from your lips. DH: “Can I kiss you too?”You blinked your eyes a few times. Is this a dream you thought. Daehyun caress your cheek and leans in. You closed your eyes slowly. Daehyun kissed you on your lips. His lips felt warm and soft. You enjoyed his kiss. He slowly deepens the kiss, while you embrace his neck. It felt like your wish came true. A tear formed in your eyes and it fell down on Daehyun’s cheek. DH: “Why are you crying?”You: “I-”You broke into tears. You: “You stupid idiot! Why are you kissing me? Don’t give me fake hope when you’re only using me!” DH: “What are you talking about?”You: “All these years I’ve been shutting my heart down for every guy I’ve ever met. Just because I love you. But you never gave me the same love as I have. You only saw me as your little sister. You stole my heart and you never gave it back to me! I hate you Jung Daehyun!”You hit his chest softly with both hands while crying louder. DH: “Sssh calm down (y/n)-ah. Don’t cry. Let me explain myself first.”You: “Noo..”Daehyun kissed you again with passion this time. You felt him kissing you differently. This time it was more daring and full emotions like he was proving his feelings for you. You pushed him away. DH: “Don’t you understand it. I kissed you because I love you. I would never kiss my best friend to use her. In the past, I was your oppa, because I cared about you. I just couldn’t leave you with any other guy. So I claimed you as my best friend. I wasn’t sure about my feelings til the day you came back from university. I got to understand my feelings for you. I do not only like you. This feeling is called love. I missed you for 4 years and I had never dated any girl in between. I didn’t feel the same when I was with any other girl. Only you can make me feel relaxed and happy. I love you (y/n)-ah please be my girlfriend.”You grabs his face with two hands and kissed him back. No more words were needed. You love him and he loves you back. You both felt the same. You pulled back to catch your breath. You: “I would love to be your girlfriend, you idiot. Saranghae Daehyun-ah~”You hug him one last time to hear the end song of the movie you’ve watched. The light turns on exposing smudged makeup on your face. Daehyun laughed loudly.You: “Yah! Why are you laughing?”DH: “I’m dating a panda! HAHAHA”You: “You’re so mean! I hate you!”You walk away from him covering your face. He grabs your wrist. DH: “I’m just joking. Please don’t be mad at me~”You: “Hmmph!”DH: “Jagiyaaa~”He hugs you from behind making your laugh. You: “Babo Daehyun!”He tickles you and you laughed even more. He didn’t mind everyone watching you both. He grabs your hand.DH: “Let’s go to my home tonight. I have some very delicious cheesecake at home.”He winks at you smiling his player grin. You: “Is it the cheesecake with raspberries?”DH: “Of course I brought your favourite cheesecake~”You: “Yeaay~ I can’t wait to eat it!”

Kihyun + Reader Genre: Fluffy Angst

“Stop fidgeting Kihyun, We all have been friends for a long time now of course, so there’s no need to be so nervous!” Minhyuk tugged on the arm of his friend Kihyun as he stood there, teeming with nervousness while he teeter-totered on his toes.

“Sorry,” He then chuckled and flashed his cheeky grin before cupping his hands over his eyes and rubbing them. “It’s just seeing her after all these years? It’s really never wrecking.” He sighed as he placed his hands back down by his side and looked around the airport that was now filling up with people. “I just don’t want anything to be different between us.”

Hyungwon stood next to him as he rolled his eyes and yawned. “C’mon Kihyun, stop being so scared. Maybe, you’re just nervous because you have feelings for her, hm?” He teased with a raised eyebrow before laughing when Kihyun smacked his arm.

“I do not!” He scoffed with a smile. “Y/N is just my friend, well actually, she’s more of like a sister to me.” He shrugged then chuckled. “A cute kid sister.”

“Right..” Hyungwon trailed off with a cheeky grin and a shake of his head.

A few more moments went by of awkward silence here and there, with an occasional groan from Kihyun’s nervousness or Hyungwon’s impatient tone until they finally jumped from the sound of the announcement of your plane finally landing.

The next scene was like a clip from a movie.

Kihyun stood,waiting at the very bottom of the escalators,waiting for your arrival. Everyone rushed down, and into the arms of their loved ones. He stood with his arms crossed over his now heaving chest from his rattling heart. His smile that was plastered from ear to ear was now fading ever so slow when the line of people from the plane was becoming smaller and smaller.

That’s when his eyes fell on someone who took his breath away. He mouthed the words ‘wow’ to himself as she smiled and walked down with her luggage in her hands.

“She’s really lovely.” He thought to himself. “Wait. Is she coming..towards..me?” He then suddenly became stiff when she walked up to him with a huge grin and glittering eyes ,until she finally stopped in front of him.

“Kihyun!”

“Uhm. Do I we know eachother?”

“Seriously?! It’s me, Y/N!”

He felt his jaw slightly drop as he stared at you then shook his head from his own daze. “Y/N?! What ?! N-no way! You looked so different in your pictures you sent me! What the hell?” He took a step back as if he had just stepped on your feet accidentally.

“It’s me,” You couldn’t help but laugh at his expression. He was always the cool ,mature type around you so seeing this reaction from his was priceless. “And the only reason that I look different from the pictures I sent you was because those were some older pictures. You kept pestering me for pictures so you would know I was doing okay” You shook your head. “I was so busy that I didn’t have the time take any.” You shrugged before turning to the other two who stood there just as dazed as Kihyun. “Hey guys!” You smiled.

“It’s good to see you again Y/N! Here, let me help you with your bags since Kihyun is too busy drooling over you.” Minhyuk teased harshly before going over to you and grabbing your things from you and started walking. “The car is this way.”

You nodded a thank you before you started walking behind them, with Kihyun by your side.

The walk was a short one, but seemed to drag on with the silence between you two.

“So, what’s up with you?” You finally huffed out quietly.

“What do you mean?” He looked at you from the corner of his eye, then back towards the other two that were way ahead to make sure they were out of ear-shot.

“Really? Something is up Kihyun. I can tell, don’t try to hide it because we have known eachother for so long now.” You shrugged, but smiled at him to know you meant well.

“Really, nothing’s wrong. Honestly.” He could feel his face heat up when his eyes fell on your lips that curled into a smile. He then looked away then threw his arms up as he stretched while secretly cringing at himself. “Ah! It’s really hot today!” He groaned out loud.

“It’s not that hot. At least not as hot as it is back at campus.”

“Do you like it? How are the classes? Have you met anyone that you liked?” Suddenly he started to spew out questions like crazy then bit the tip of his tongue slightly.

“Now that’s the Kihyun I know.” You tilted your head to the side and giggled.

His face, along with his whole body became hotter to the touch when he heard your laughing.

Once in the car he felt as though he was in a sauna as he sat, scrunched up in the back seat with you. He couldn’t help but glance your way here and there, as if he were studying you. Your hair was so much more different than back then. It was much darker and it made your facial features much softer yet stand out. Your makeup skills had improved, making your look much older. Your body was curvy in all the right places and he had to pry his eyes from your physique.

“Yoo-Hoo! Kihyun?”

His eyes shot up at the voice that called out to him. “Huh?”

“We’re here.” Minhyuk smiled at him from the rearview mirror before opening the car door and getting out followed by Hyungwon.

“Oh this is so nice.” You cooed as you too got out of the car and saw the small cook out that they had planned for your arrival. You smiled as everone else came up to greet you with smiles and hugs. Though, Wonho had took it slightly to another level, making Kihyun react quickly.

“Oh my God! Look at you Y/N. You really got so much sexier!” He beamed at you as he shook your hand but still held onto it as he gave the back of your hand a sweet and lingering kiss which made you blush and smile.

“Yah!” Kihyun jutted his hand out and quickly pulled back yours from his with a frown. “Don’t you think you’re becoming a little too comfortable Wonho?”

Everyone, including him burst out laughing.

“Oh my gosh, he really is still like her older brother!” Changkyun exclaimed.

“How cute!” Jooheon teased.

“Let them be. He can’t help it. That’s his best friend.They were the closest out of all of us” Shownu even chimed in.

All of their laughter and teasing made him much more anxious and peeved as he shook his head and went to take a seat at the table.

Soon the afternoon changed into a night filled with laughter and reminiscing. After sometime you looked around and found Kihyun sitting alone by himself. You walked over to him, your arms pulled behind your back and a nervous smile upon your face. “So,” You leaned over and looked at him. “Tonight was fun?” You chuckled as you sat down next to him after he looked over at you with a half-smile.

“Yeah...” He breathed out and looked out in front of him at nothing.

“You want to tell me what’s wrong and why you’re sitting all by yourself?”

“It’s nothing. I’m just tired..” He shrugged.

After a few more moments of silence your smile went away as you stood up, feeling slightly upset. “Uhm- I think I’m pretty tired myself.” You sighed then looked at your phone’s time. “I think I should get to bed now. You said they had a place set up for me in the spare room r-” You trailed off when you saw that Kihyun was again, in a daze. “It’s alright. I will go ask one of the others to show me the way.” You forced a smile, trying to stay positive as you made your way towards the group who was now putting things away.

Kihyun sat there not knowing what to do. He clenched his fists against his pants as he heard you walk away. As he watched you from the corner of his eye until you went inside, he sighed in an angry manner. “Dammit. Why are you acting like this?” He thought to himself.

Just then, Jooheon walked up to him and looked down at him seriously. “Hey, what’s your deal?”

“What?” Kihyun looked up at him.

“One of our good friends is here and instead of being happy, you’ve been giving her the cold shoulder pretty much all after noon long. And just then it looked like she wanted to cry.”

Jooheon’s words made him look back down and frown. “I didn’t mean to make her feel that way..it’s just....Dammit!”

The rest of the group heard Kihyun’s frustration and was by his side in a minute trying to too figure out why their friend was acting this way.

“She just..I feel different around her now than I did before. I see her like a woman. Not just a little girl anymore.Ever since we started texting while she was away, then seeing her again now.” He felt himself shudder as he said these words outloud and suddenly felt shy.

“We could have guessed that!” Wonho laughed. “The way you reacted when I kissed her hand, and the way you were starring at her all night long! It’s super obvious. And she likes you too if we are being honest now.”

Kihyun leaped up and almost choked. “No way! This is so embarrassing!” He groaned out loud as he put his hands at his side. “I don’t know what to do..” He shut his eyes tightly, cringing at the way he was rude towards you earlier.

“Go talk to her and tell her how you feel dummy.” Changkyun sighed with his arms crossed.

“Please do,” Hyungwon nodded with a yawn. “Or we won’t hear the last of it tonight and we all need sleep.”

“Well what if she’s sleeping or- or..” He stuttered as he tried to come up with excuses as the boys pushed him forward towards the entrance of the house.

“Go on, unless you want to clean up by yourself?” Shownu said sternly with a smile.

Kihyun finally mustered up all his courage and heaved a finally and heavy sigh as he made his way inside, and down the hall towards the room you were in.

He opened the door a crack and noticed a sleeping lump on your bed which he knew was you. He then took a deep breath and smiled , knowing this would have to wait for tomorrow. He then felt that something was keeping him there. He drifted quietly into your room then sat softly on your bed.

“Hey.” He whispered. “You know? We have been friends for sometime now. And I know I always treated you like a child, but things are different now..” He trailed off thinking of what to say to your sleeping self. “You mean alot to me. And I didn’t mean to be so mean to you back there. I guess I was just trying to distance myself from you- wait no, not you, but my feelings for you. Being the way I am now, and the way you are now too, I just couldn’t help myself around you, so I became so nervous and didn’t know what to do..”He leaned his head back feeling relieved that you were sleeping and didn’t have to see how greasy he was being right then and there. “I just didn’t want to lose you as a friend...”

“I guess what I’m trying to say is...I like you, maybe even more? But not just as a friend, but more like when you want to hold hands or kiss...I don’t know why it took me so long to see it until now, and that was dumb of me to see now how much I missed you, and having you around.” He smiled to himself and sighed softly once more. “I think when the moment is right I would want to hold you in my arms and just tell you how much I really feel for you...”

“Then why don’t you do that right now?” Suddenly he heard a small voice sound from behind him.

“Y/N?!” He turned to see you now sitting up and looking at him with a blushing face. “How much of that did you hear!?”

“All of it.” You spoke quietly, “And I too feel the same way Kihyun...I always have. I just never said anything because all you did was see me as a little kid and I always hated it. But now that I know how you really feel..That makes me happy.” Your smile formed again.

He shifted around and smiled at you, “I’m sorry...I just didn’t want you to freak out by the way I felt about you.” He breathed out in a relieved way.

You held your arms open wide, while also holding up the blanket. “Then why don’t you come and tell me all about how you feel about me?” You said playfully.

He nodded and smiled, now feeling as though things hadn’t changed between you two, besides the fact that this love was mutual between the two of you.

After kicking off his shoes, he climbed in next to you and held you tightly in his arms. As you laid your head on his chest, he kissed your forhead and smiled against your skin. “ I think I really like you, like alot alot.” He chuckled quietly.

You smiled up at him for a moment. “Well you’re in luck, because I really like you alot alot too.”

My Induction Program @ICT college

ICT is actually my dream college to be in and on 14th august of this year, when I got my admission through spot admission round, I was so happy! so much like words can’t define it, and after some time we started the induction programme, which was a whopping 3 weeks long, I actually wondered what all would’ve been done in this time, and I’m glad to say that I I’ve gained a lot out of it.1

The induction programme starting from 20th August 2018, will continue up to 7th September 2018, which is about 3 weeks long, a lot of us wondered (including myself) that what all would happen in this time, I hoped that it would be good.so now, according to the time table recived I was allotted to batch II, with all the BTech guys

So here we start on day 1 on 20th August according to the time table I was supposed to go and report my self to the room H103 for phsycometric test conducted by Mr. Phadke where we were first given a sheet and after filling it I went up to the IPC section which is just above H103, where the next test was conducted on computer. When it was done I went down to godrej canteen and had some food then wandered around the whole campus of ICT with my new friend saumya.

After our tour around the campus we went and reported to the K Venkatraman auditorium (that is KV auditorium). After sometime all the professors came in and we started our session with hearing the song about “rasayan devike” or the goddess of chemicals, then after that we heard a talk from our vice chancellor Prof G.D. Yadav about the college and its standing it was really helpful for me to know as along with the sense of pride that I’ll have with this knowledge, it will be easier to explain why I took this college. He also advised us to be innovative and to do well and it goes without saying that one must be honest with oneself and others and work hard to achieve their goals. The following addresal were taken by our registrar madam lele followed by HOD of our respective departments, who all came in and shared their experiences and a word about their own fields of technologies.

Day II was again a good start, were taken on a tour of whole campus by our seniors, and all that I recall is when we were done introducing ourselves he said there would be a strong bonding of friendship amongst us and it would be difficult to understand it through words, we ourselves would get it by the end of this year. The tour concluded by 1 pm after lunch we went for biometric scanning of our fingers and when it was done I went to take my diary which will be with me for next 4 years.

The next session we had on following days was taken by Dr Rama Iyer where in her session we were to learn basic human values after about some 15 mins of talking madam segregated us into groups and then gave us a hefty task to complete. The task was that we were given a topic to choose (so my we all as a group decided justice), on the basis of the topic selected we were asked to make a chart with logo and a punchline along with a chart that depicted a picture worth a thousand words also around the topic and all of it were to be drawn. In addition to it later we were asked to make another chart where all the values we learnt were displayed along with it we had to search a song relevant to our topic and had to dance to it while singing. All that was to be done over a period of 3 weeks as she conducted sessions on 1st and 3rd week.

So as we started off, we didn’t know each other but still we had to work as a team so that thought us team work, I also learnt that we’ve got to make decisions quickly in chaotic situations. when we had to make the presentation of all the charts we decided that I must start the presentation and do it for the first chart so I did it and at the time of song we sung it and I tried dancing for first time, this experience thought me that we must try something new its god to do so. By the time the presentation concluded, Rama ma’am came up and I recall her saying that “Allen is an unleashed tiger” I was shocked to hear it, further on she advised me to anchor myself in short presentations and to do the striding in longer ones. In that whole session we really learnt a lot of things and it was very useful.

The next person who conducted the session was Mr. Vinay Zande, Although I was able to sit only for one of his two lectures it was still useful as we were able to learn about advertisements. Mr Zande is a personality in the field of advertisements and he discussed with us how advertisements are done, in direct ways and indirect ways.it was actually kind of shocking to know all that but then it was worthwhile to have this knowledge.

On day 4 and day 5 of our schedule we had to meet and familiarize ourselves with our department and its faculty members all that was in afternoon sessions of these days. The first days session was taken by our head of department Prof Sharnkerling who after a formal introduction explained us what is the department all about and what all can be benefitted from it and also he enlightened us that we would learn about other organic processes too in this 4 years along with dyestuff technology. The following days session was conducted by a senior faculty member, Prof Bote, who instead of taking a formal introduction where we introduce ourselves, did a twist, he asked us to introduce one another so it was fun to do it that way. I was introduced by arpit and I introduced shruti. After that sir again spoke about the department and answered few questions and then the session was concluded. With that the first week was concluded.

While all this was going on, our seniors had planned a whole fest for we guys by the name of “FRESHERS 2k18” where there are all kinds of sports and cultural events so that we feel comfortable. I’d personally like to thank all these guys who worked so hard to make this happen like all of them the ones on scenes and off the scenes like I really enjoyed doing it. Like even the slogan is so apt “YEH TOH BAS SHURUAT HAI”. I’ve personally tried playing a lot of games in this time and I took part in one cultural event called shazam a musical event where we had to identify all the songs and so on like a song quiz but elaborated well. It was awesome to gain all that experience like I remember one of our coordinators saying that at least try it even if you don’t know what it is or how to play it or so on. The theme that is selected is EMBARK it also makes sense as we are to embark on a 4year journey and to give a warm welcome or seniors have planned this whole thing and its awesome.

The second week had this one session every day from 11 am to 1 pm, this session was conducted by teachers at the art of living institute which was based on the concept of inner peace and stuff which we don’t usually care for was being addressed to here. In this session we learnt about yoga and also again about team work because we were playing games and doing task in these sessions and also tried acting and dancing and yoga which was enjoyable and also tiring but we enjoyed it the one thing that they thought was to live in the present and work in the present rather working in the future and thinking and living in the past of our lives. The one thing that was really useful was meditation like I didn’t really knew what it was but now I know it and I do practice it it’s a helpful method to balance yourself out and start off the day with a good mental health and also they thought us breathing techniques which are again useful in gathering concetration.

In the morning session of this week (that is form 9 am to 11 am) we had talks conducted by many dignitaries from the corporate world. The first session on day 8 was taken by Mr K Suryanarayanan who works at godrej company, he thought us through the story of dragonfly that transformation once done will be permanent and you will not be able to go back to the previous state back and also if you do well you inspire others too to rise up to a good position in life. His session also had a video representation of how a student must be what all qualities a student must imbibe in oneself to be successful.

The next day that is on day 9, session was taken by retired Col Venkatraman who shared his experience and thought us a lot of things for example, he spoke about joining the armed forces and he said that he joined it because he wanted to do something challenging and the nationalism is not the driving force in the decision that thought us honesty, then he said that never give up, however he situation may seem to be never give up. He also asked us to keep motivating ourselves and to be ready for any situation and challenges, may it be physical or mental. One of the things that he directly said was “A strong mine can drive a weak body but a weak mind cannot handle a strong body”. He also advised us to work to win and if we can’t win help someone else to win, then plan your things out and set a goal if the plan seems to fail the alter the plan not the goal and also enjoy your journey. The final thing he said was that have a spine, when you do some work take up its responsibilities.

The session on day 10 was conducted by Dr Shehenaz Elavia, she is a psychiatrist by profession and she was here to address one thing that even art of living guys tried to address mental health. She had narrated to us a list of dos and don’ts so starting from don’ts, she advised us not to turn our factual problems like financial issues and stuff to become our emotional problems as it can be a problem to us and others around us. She also advised us to not to allow external problems to be our internal problems and vice versa. Do not allow your own negativity to spill into your positivity while looking into your life. “one must take long and hard route.” And “In spite of not being confident, one must speak” is one of the few things ma’am has told us.

The session on the following day was conducted by Mr. Deep Bhandari, an eminent personality in the pharma industry. He discussed the topic of the psyche of success in the corporate world, and what all can effect success of a product and all. Mr. Bhandari spoke about disintermediation meaning my competition being from out of my working sphere. Globalization, contingent workers, multigenerational workforce in companies and scarcity of qualified talent. He said “There is no value to be created from technology unless people embrace it”, he also asked us to keep proving ourselves by demonstrating our skills and also to be better than others and to perform better than previous performance and also to develop a skill. One major thing that was being spoken about was having a growth mind set because it’s the most useful and productive kind of mind set that one could have.

The last session was conducted by Mr. Sudhir Patil who is a visiting faculty at Khalsa college and has been a part of the HR department of many companies. He had a lot to say and the best to say according to me. He discussed upon topics like SWOT Analysis, Post-Graduation attributes, market trends wrt jobs, calculated risk analysis and core values one must have. SWOT Analysis means calculating the strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats. He also spoke about skills like IT skills, Workplace skills communication skills team work skills commercial awareness and so on. he suggested us to be humble with all those who would work under us. “there is an in time but there is no certain out time”. He said that there are life-long learnings in any field. At the end of the session he thought us how to write a resume and it was important

The next thing I’d like to talk about is mentors so it was a session where we would go to our mentors and spend some time interacting with him, so our mentor was Prof Ashwin Mohan who is a faculty for physics. We used to gather at the pidilite pavilion and be there for the whole session. On the first day of session during the introduction sir was trying to make a conversation based on questions like what all do we like about the city and what all we don’t. in the following sessions he gave us tasks which were related to designing and stuff. Sir wanted us to think about gadgets and how to design them according to the purpose and need of the people so he gave us tasks where one was to design a model that would satisfy the given aim and another one was a device is given to us and we’ve to find its purpose. In his session we could learn the importance of design and thinking because we will require them in one way or another. In the last section of his lecture he gave us a puzzle to solve which helped us realize how hard is it for scientists to explain a new Phenomena in the nature and then we saw some BBC videos and ended the session, with this we also concluded the second week of our induction programme and now we move into the third and the final week.

In this week we had the continual of Dr Iyer’s session and multiple sessions with Prof Vavia and a session on the English language and some other sessions. So first let me speak about sessions with Prof Vavia, so we had a session with him where he showed us some videos in which there was a talk by Prof M M Sharma, where he spoke about a lot of things but the crux of it was that we will be in a need to keep studying new changes in our work and have to update ourselves, and also be innovative and he also spoke about Haber and his discovery of ammonia which was very crucial for agricultural industry thereby enlisting the importance of the our fields and enlisted many more examples for the same. Then next video representation was a biography of our chancellor Prof R A Mashelkar, showing his humble beginings and his climb up to the glory. The following video presentations were also biographies of our vice chancellor Prof G D Yadav and Prof J B Joshi, then we saw a video wherein we saw a address given by Mr. Mukesh Ambani who is the alumni of this institute. The reason Prof Vavia showed us all these videos was and in his own words I’d like to say “so that you can imbibe the values we are trying to give to you all”

The next session that prof Vavia took was based on examination patterns and policies related to same. I’d also like to make a note that Prof Vavia is also the one who genrally used to introduce people in the sessions to us, right from day one. and then a session was conducted by Prof A B Pandit, the session was about anti ragging policies but it did not limit to that, sir explained us what all will be constituted in ragging and it was made clear that it won’t be tolerated. First complaint amounts to warning, second amounts to informing the parents and counselling and the final one amounts to expulsion. It was in this week we were asked to go to library and spend some time there and we were frequently asked to go to the library and spend time there, it seriously worked out for me because I loved the library a lot. Our library is a ground plus two storyed building wherein there are a lot of books provided.

A session was also conducted by the college counsellor Miss Malini Shah on resilience which means to rise above hardships and to recover quickly but the session meant more than that, miss shah did a small experiment which exhibited the fact of resilience it was good to see it and understand its importance too. The last person I’d like to talk about would be Dr. Yogesh Anverkar, who was brought in to teach us English language but he did something else too. Dr Anverkar asked us to practice English language by reading and writing. reading books, novellas short stories and so on and write blogs if possible because as he said this is one of the best methods to develop your skills in English. So sir will be around ths semester to take our communications skills lectures and he will be helping us to prepare the language part for exams like GRE, GATE, and so on. I remember sirs first session was started on a historical point stating how did English language form and so on. the lecture turned fun when he started telling short stories and so it was fascinating to sit for that, and he continued to tell a short story in every lecture down till the very last one.

At the start of this three week journey I had wondered how it would be, now when I stand at the end of it I am glad that it was a good one great one actually, thank you, like all those who worked it out, all those who came in to speak, all those seniors who worked to make the Freshers 2k18 a great fest thank you guys. I remember Vavia sir saying that we want you’ll to imbibe good values I think so that this has three week induction programme to been helpful in doing so as I embark on this journey of my engineering, this was really the best start I could’ve got.
