I'm begging people to stop assuming that fics are abandoned if they haven't been updated in a few years. A fic isn't abandoned unless it's labeled so! Life happens! Something that hasn't been updated in 3 years may still get updates.

post volume 2 byler hope

i know volume 2 has left us feeling very pessimistic and hopeless for the possibility of byler. yet, i do still think there is reason to hope and so i have compiled a list of amazing posts that have definitely increased my faith in s5 byler.

(here is a small disclaimer that even though byler just makes sense to us narratively and overall, there is still a chance that the duffers won’t go through with it. if you choose to have hope regardless, that’s great! but pessimism is absolutely valid too. cautious optimism is definitely recommended)

Y'know what I think? I think I AM getting better, after the years and years of telling myself that could never be possible, and watching others experience the same thing. I can finally say I do love myself and I am loved. I love the people around me and I am genuinely so happy to be alive. I am no longer weighed down by my failures. Eye for an eye. No one is happy until everyone is. Why does everyone try to gaslight me into thinking I'm not in pain instead of listening to me! Theater kids are being sexualy harassed gaslit, and taken advantage of, rape victims are committing suicide, the Police didn't even consider such things a crime. If they're even considering suicide they've been though enough to consider it a crime. If sex is a Trigger than they don't even have a safe space to heal or figure out how THEY, NOT YOU, feel about sex and romance. This specific book is about people like them. An instead of respect people are treating the characters the same way abuses do. Like puppets they own that belong to them, that they can make do whatever they want, in the name of art, without consequences. The fighting in Theater is fake. The death in Theater is fake. The romance in Theater is fake. Why is sex out of all of these not fake?! If the body of an actor is worth protecting from physical pain then why is this different? Director probably don't expect actors to even HAVE BOUNDARYS they won't cross. You've made your fun, your hobbies, more important than human LIVES. I apologize for having such a hard time explaining this. But I'm fighting for justice. If you have a problem, it better be with my methods, not my goal. Also, DID fictives exist, I wouldn't sexualize or romanticize fictional characters just because you think they aren't real. They are. Not just in people's hearts, or an alternate universe, they are real. Them being real is a necessary coping mechanism. They need them, in order to survive. I don't see how it's unreasonable to give up something you don't need to save lives. Listen to there silence! It isn't supposed to be this quiet! Where are they?! Let there silence ring loudly. Don't let them die in silence just because they thought no one would listen if they spoke up.

I still hope in buddie ofc, and I envy all the posts going around explaining why it’s so right that we didn’t get a single scene of buddie in all season 6 for now, but we’re minority, the majority of the people that watch the show and don’t obsess on it like us are not even sure anymore that buddie can be defined friends other than just colleagues, and I don’t know why they took this path this season but it kind of hurt, because they foremost were best friends

Okay, with all the love I have for this fandom, and it's immense, sometimes I'm positive that we watch different shows, lol

I mean, I could go back and gif every Buck and Eddie scene in this season, and Eddie's broken tears in 6x11 definitely screamed "co-worker". 😉😂😅

So there are several schools of thought that explain that attitude, neither one is flattering, and I'm not going to open it here.

My advice to you is to don't look for what's not there, but look at what is, and what's said between the lines.

Second, block the negative voices. Being a fan and weave theories and hope for things to happen on any front should be a fun experience.

As Frankenstein said in Hotel Transylvania, 3: "You gotta be greater than the haters", love. 😉❤️
