got hyperfixated on my new genshin oc and now i can't stop thinking about him

okay. so. fatui harbinger.

"artem novikov" / scapino, the ringmaster

anemo vision and pyro delusion, polearm (scythe) OR catalyst (whip)

runs a carnival and circus in snezhnaya called "tsirk neba," which is on a little floating island :3

backstory (very simplified)

way way wayyyy back in old mondstadt, this guy was a court jester for decarabian. decarabian thought he was silly. and he knew war was about to break out. he thought "hey, can't have my funny dude get killed in the war, then he won't be there to make me laugh when it's over :(" so, the archon war starts, and decarabian puts a sleeping spell on him and puts him into a little domain.

fast forward a couple centuries, and the archon war is over. decarabian is dead, this dude's still asleep in his domain. the domain was only meant to be temporary, so it starts to become unstable and eventually falls apart, dropping him into the abyss. the fall wakes him up and he's just like ?????

a newly crowned abyss princess sees this random jester and is also like ??? so she decided to take him in. not like there are many other humans in the abyss she can talk to. she helps him train, and he eventually becomes the abyss order's rifthound handler. the longer he spends in the abyss, though, the less he remembers about himself. eventually, he's lost all sense of who he is. all he knows is his life in the abyss.

but then dainsleif leaves the abyss order. once again, this guy's just like ???? dude ???? i thought we were homies ????? anyways lumine sends him after dainsleif to punish him. he never comes back, though.

mf gets lost in snezhnaya. he has no idea where he is, no memory of why he was here. his mind's a little fucked at this point. he manages to stumble across a den of consecrated beasts and he's just like "well shit" but is saved when he's granted an anemo vision. a few weeks pass, and he comes face to face with capitano, who grabs him by the collar of his shirt like he's a wild animal and just kinda puts him in his carriage to bring him to safety.

he joins the fatui, where he is given the name "artem novikov," as he can't remember his real name. the years go by, and he becomes a harbinger named scapino. he doesn't remember why, but he likes making people laugh. so the tsaritsa lets him open a circus to boost the morale of snezhnaya and make the children more interested in the fatui.

with his anemo vision and newly gotten pyro delusion, he is very good at making illusions out of smoke. I have a very vivid image in my head of aether entering the circus and scapino's just like "hey you're strong, you should join the fatui :3" aether says no of course, but then scapino finds out he's looking for lumine. so he puts an illusion over one of his contortionists and makes her look just like lumine to try and manipulate aether

What's up homies!!!? How's college life? Kaya paba? Kung kaya nira, kung kaya ko, kaya mo liwat!.

This activity indeed open an opportunity for me to introduce myself because for some reason I felt that am left behind, being an irreg student sucks huhu.

To begin with, let me acquaint all of you. Hi! I am 𝐂𝐲𝐫𝐚 but you can call me 𝑺𝒂𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒚, 21 years stunner. A 4th yr student taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication under the advisory class of ma'am Chelo aka master Jopay. A senior student who looks like a freshman or sophomore because of my height, cute size though, lol.

Story Time ✓

Dyk? of course you don't HAHAHA kidding aside. Being a BACOM student wasn't in my plan at the first place. My childhood dream is to be become an educator, and yes I pursue it but in just a span of 2 s.y (1st-2nd yr) because of some horrific reason I shifted course/program. Almighty God has changed my path, he brought me into BACommunity and I believe that this is the right way for me to achieve success. Even though I didn't get the course I wanted, I'm happy with what I'm taking now. I already love my course, I'm embracing it's essence and the people involve.

Here's the uninterested things about me;

✓ I do love cooking, I can cook, just drop what dishes you want I'ma cook it for you, keme HAHAHA

✓ Loves to read books, acads/wattpad related.

✓ Music is my therapy, and also I'm a huge fan of Taylor #swiftie

✓ I am fascinated and mesmerized by the sight of sunset. Sunset always reminds me that an ending can be beautiful too.

✓ I'm a moonchild, l like moon so much. It's my therapy too, if I'm going to be baptized again I'm beyond grateful to choose Luna as my name.

✓ Family oriented and tatay's girl ♥️ I can conquer everything just for them. They're my inspiration, weakness and strength.

Taft is one of the ancient pueblos in Samar situated in the Eastern coast which was called Tubabao or Tubabaw in early times. This town was originally named after the river called Malinaw, but since the river causes heavy floods during rainy season, people began calling the place Tubig, which means water in Waray-Waray. Have you heard about Dangkalan Pacific Beach Resort of Taft? if you haven't then take a look on how beautiful the scenery was. Way back in highschool life of mine, me together with my circle of friends used to go in here. We didn't pay for the entrance because we went through the back, by the sea HAHAHA this resort definitely go beyond your expectations, perfectly beautiful (sayang diko na ma post yung pictures, max of 10 pics lang pala dito).

Also, Taft has a hydropower plant energy. The project uses of the running water in Taft-Tubig river to secure affordable power in the Samar-Leyte area. It consists of three units with 5.9 MW each.

“Hydro projects are challenging to build but despite the pandemic [the company] did it in record time of less than two years,” Taft Hydro Energy President Benjie Q. Picardo said in a statement.

And now, I'm loud and proud to shared the barangay that I love despite of having a lot of marites, this is the place where I born, grow up and reside, Brgy. Mabuhay, Taft, E. Samar (insert mini miss u music)

Not to brag but my great grandfather was the first barangay captain. He also donated land to build a school, so our barangay had an elementary school.

the love/hate relationship i have with childe grows stronger everyday. every time i bench him in order to play other characters (ayato, heizou, etc.), i always find myself going back to him whenever a new boss/hard enemy appears bc for some reason, he's stronger every time. he carries my whole team even with the worst artifacts known to man. thoma, kokomi, and traveler just stand to the side while childe goes ham on whatever's unfortunate enough to be in his way.

i wanted to explore the desert with ayato (and hopefully alhaitham once he finally comes home) but NO. CHILDE ALWAYS FINDS A WAY TO GET BACK ON MY TEAM AND DO AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF DAMAGE THAT I END UP FORGETTING THAT IM SUPPOSED TO HATE HIM AND FALL BACK INTO CHILDE HELL.

i appreciate the help for killing everything i need for alhaitham sure, but buddy pal homie please i want to be free (and get the others' friendship cards too) :"D

ayooo girlie completely forgot to post her pics from comic con stuttgart. I slept over at my friends place from friday to saturday so we could get going extra early and this is what I woke up to

I got up and did my hair and makeup while my buddy snoozed for a lil longer

I went as random member of camp halfblood on day 1 and on day 2 i just couldn't be bothered and just went in casual. We drove up to stuttgart and picked up some homies, then drove to the con and got in, our first stop was at a crepe shop, those crepes kept us fueled for more than 8 hours

On day one our buddies were there as characters from Rainbow Six and we had an iron mouse with us, sadly our boys are really camera shy so heres a pic of iron mouse sitting by herself and eating a crepe

We spent our first day mostly just walking around taking pics with others and for others. You have no idea how many gorwn ass men came up to us going "OMG TACHANKA" and looking at our two tachanka cosplayers like they just found their long lost dads that went to get milk and never came home.

I sadly couldn't take as many pics on day 1 mainly bc I get anxious a lot in big crowds so my buddy and I hit our hotel pretty tired, but on day 2 we got to the con before our friends and thus I was able to go on a little spending spree and also take pics of all these cute mushrrom folks and nature witches

We also met up with a friend of mine back from school who was there with her own group, at that point I split up from my buddies who on day 2 were there as CoD characters, SCP soldiers and Maid Keqing from Genshin Impact. My adventure with my schoolfriend started out great, one of her wings from her toothless armor broke off and it took us about an hour to hunt down some hotglue for her, but the people at the hydro forge were there to save us and thus some more fooling around happened. Look at her slaying big time.

but sadly all good things must come to an end and so at around 4 pm we all gathered back up at our meeting spot to take some last cringy pics like the weebs and nerds we are

And took one final group picture

and thus headed home. Needless to say, I was starving once I got back, I only ate like one proper meal throughout the entire weekend and besides that I mainly ran on boba-tea and anxie-tea.

also now I have this thing

also for everyone that plans on going to comic con in stuttgart next year, here's some advice: DO NOT SIT ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE BIG DARK WALLS WITH THE HOLES IN IT THOSE ARE THE VENTILATION SYSTEM YOU WILL GET A COLD can't believe it took us several hours to figure that out.

Oh yeah I also came down with the rona a few days after which made me big angy but at least noone else in the group got sick and I had it out of my system within a week of aggressively overheating myself, inhaling steam to declog my nostrils and eating a ton of spicy chicken soup.

also, when they're breaking up, Scylla tells Remus he's going to go back to the Egeria's court, but he calls her "Usurper of Many Waters", which has incredible implications:

1.there were hydro vishaps just hanging out at egeria's court, probably bc its in primordial sea and thats just their home.

2.but they hate her and they are NOT subtle about it. like you bet Scylla also called it to her face and thought he was soooo funny. He was just there at Egeria's court being like Mother of Many Waters?? More like USURPER of many waters! Hydro archon? More like Hydro FAKE! Goddess of justice? More like Goddess of sucking!!

what would your ocs favourite drinks be? (modern or canon)

OOOOO I'm gonna go w modern AU bc I love me a good Drink :3 I also didn't do Every OC I have bc they are not all developed wnpugh to have favorite drinks. Also because this would get quite long because I love a good Beverage. Also, all of my OCs are Arizona Iced Tea fans they each have a favorite AZ iced tea. I will write them all out eventually (I decided this while proofreading this post bc im suddenly cracking a mucho mango or perhaps a sweet tea soooo bad).

Vulon: Energy drinks and tea. It prefers fruit flavored ones of both types, especially strawberry but fruit punch is a close second. Looooves making red bull drinks w funky syrups. It's favorite of those is marshmallow and peach flavor with a bit of oat milk (I know it sounds weird but it is SO GOOD it was my favorite drink at my old coffee shop and I miss it so much). When it needs an emotional support drink it'll get Thai or lavender milk tea. Alcohol wise it loves fruity as hell cocktails and long Island iced teas. ESPECIALLY if they come in fun colors. It will order blue colored drinks because Yumy. Also likes "Swamp Water" which is a drink of my own creation: a few shots ofcheap-ass bottom shelf vodka mixed with orange and cotton candy faygo (or other soda but like it has to taste like nothing occurring in nature).

Ivrasi: Coffee with cinnamon and sweetened with honey is her go-to caffeine drink, but Ivrasi is a hydro homie at her core!! She will sometimes partake in a nice Flavored Water but only on rare occasions if she's craving something more flavorful. In terms of alcohol she'd love bloody marys !!! Idk if there's a TES equivalent to that but she'd like that Spicy :3

Jo'safiir: Teas! In general, but especially black tea. He'd definitely sweeten his tea with lots and lots of honey! He would also like a nice coffee now and then, in fact he'd probably like cinnamon-honey coffee like Ivrasi (because it's fucking DELICIOUS), but hed put a lot of creamer in it (caramel flavored specifically). I don't know what kind of alcohol Jo'safiir would like; tbh I don't think he Would like alcohol, my man likes things that r sweet and even like the alcohol aftertaste would be too much for him.

Vyrthaal: Vyrthaal would like sour drinks like lemonade!! Idk if any of yall have made honey lemonade but it fucking RULES and it would be Vyrthaal's favorite thing to drink :3 Also he'd want 2 drink snow cone flavoring. They should not be allowed to. Please do not let him drink the syrups. I dont think Vyr would like alcohol but they might have some champagne or something know and then in like, celebratory contexts!

Kili: Oooo Kili would loooooove sugary sodas!! Especially fun ones like the Hot Cheetos mountain dew or the warheads sodas. BAJA BLAST would be his most favorite drink of all time tho. Kili is definitely a Taco Bell guy.

Sina: Sina would love beer. And mead. She also has a really high alcohol tolerance too so sometimes she just Drinks Beer with her breakfast and is fine lol. She genuinely likes the flavor too! But for non-alcoholic drinks I think she would like sparkling water! Both flavored and not :3 but a mixed berry flavor would be her favorite!

Gorbek: Gorbek would like Raspberry flavoring soooo much, so anything Raspberry flavored would be his favorite! He'd ALSO be a cream soda guy 100%, And be the sort 2 mix every flavor of soda at a soda fountain :3 For alcohol he'd like fruity drinks and stuff like Vulon, he doesn't like the taste of alcohol and would want to mask it hehe.

Geo family:

-Ningguang asked Zhongli to join the family because he looked rich. Zhongli agreed because Ningguang offered to go antique shopping with him and didn't realize that meant using her money. She's now stuck with him and he's very dense when it comes to mortals and totally missed the purpose of the arrangement.

-They heard about Noelle from the storyteller who talked about her feats. She was vvv polite to them and they decided to support her in Mondstadt during her test.

-That’s where they met Albedo who started following Zhongli around and trying to study him. Neither he nor Zhongli understands social interaction and he becomes part of the family.

-They all overwork themselves and eventually decide to take a break and visit Inazuma. Gorou and Ningguang bond over hating the Fatui.

-They all sit down to have some brunch when the wall collapses as a man is thrown through it. Standing on the other side of the wall is a very irritated Sara. Itto sees they all use geo and invite himself to sit with them. None of them want to deal with telling him to go away. He remains part of the group because he can't take a hint and leave them alone.

Hydro family:

-Mona needs money. She takes a commission in dragonspine that pays well because no one else wants to go there. She gets to the sight of the commission, but the monsters have all been defeated. She is sad because now she can't make money and has to go hungry. Childe, who just beat the shit outta some monsters because he doesn't know how to deal with emotions, overhears and gives her like 4x mora than what the commission was gonna pay. Mona feels bad, but he tells her it's legit nothing to him.

-They head back to mondstadt to claim the commission and they see Albert harassing Barbara for an autograph. Childe’s overprotective big brother instincts kick in and he pulls Albert aside to ‘talk’ to him. If no one ever hears from him again, no one seems to care.

-Xiangling drags Xingqiu and Chongyun along to hunt for springvale boar. Diona is offering free samples and Xiangling grabs a few since they know each other. Chongyun loses control because Diona put chilies in the drinks. The others take him to Mondstadt where there’s apparently a healer who works at the church.

-Barbara is out for a relaxing lunch because none of her fans wanna approach the witch and Fatui harbinger with her. Xingqiu recognizes Childe as one of Zhongli’s friends and the group sit with them to eat while Chongyun is recovering.

-They go their separate ways until Xinyan mentions meeting Childe in Inazuma. The hydro homies decide to visit him because they seem to not understand that he’s literally a living weapon. He decides that hunting down Scaramouche can wait and also he’s decided that these people are his family now which means he doesn’t wanna show them his dark side.

-They decide to visit the resistance (partially because Childe needs information and has an apology gift basket but they don’t need to know that). Kokomi sees them and Gorou tells her to take a break for the day since she’s so overworked. She agrees, having no clue that one of her new friends works for the organization that almost killed her people. Childe assumes she knows and it never gets talked about.

Anemo family:

-Venti sees the other elements hanging out and decides that it would be fun. He calls Dvalin and forcibly makes Jean and Sucrose stop working under the guise of “it’s an emergency, come quick!”

-The Dvalin express lands on Wangshu in where Venti starts loudly singing and strumming his lyre. Xiao appears to kick them out, but Venti drags him onto the dragon and takes off before he can protest. Xiao is ready to teleport away. Venti then tells him that Rex Lapis is in Inazuma with a demon (not a lie). And suddenly he doesn’t want to leave.

-They make a pit stop by the crux fleet and Dvalin swoops down and grabs Kazuha in a talon.

-They land in Inazuma, where Venti, now drunk, mistakes a barrel for a person. The crate next to it asks how they could see her. Sayu joins the gang because sucrose is working on experiments and maybe there’s a formula to make her taller?

Electro family:

-Yae tells Ei that she should meet some electro vision bearers since she stole a bunch of em.

-Ei agrees and leaves the shogun in change. They venture to Mondstadt and meet the protagonist of a book produced by Yae’s publishing co. She joins them as their *insert long term here*

-Ei has done the bare minimum and they go home. And then:

-Lisa came to Inazuma to fetch Jean and Albedo.

-Beidou came to slay the dragon who stole her son Kazuha

-Keqing followed her because Ganyu is holding down the fort and they need Ningguang back.

-Sara is dealing with MORE permit issues now

Yae forcibly drags Scaramouche to bond with his mother.

The aftermath:

-Kokomi sees him and remembers the traveler’s description of him.

-“hey isn’t that the Fatui harbinger who poisoned our army?”

-The geo brunch is disturbed by loud noises and...was that a whale call? They decide to ignore it because it’s not the weirdest thing they’ve run into this morning.

-And then water starts leaking into the restaurant. There is a moment of calm silence. Zhongli politely excuses himself. He sighs and walks out of the restaurant.

-It is madness. Beidou is threatening Barbatos, Xiao is also threatening Barbatos. Jean is trying to cam down sucrose who is intimidated by Sayu pestering her. Keqing is cursing out Ei, while Yae watches and laughs. Fischl is next to her providing commentary. Oz is translating. Lisa is lying on a park bench because she can’t be bothered to get involved.

-Also the entire city is flooded. Barbara and Xingqiu are trying to evacuate the citizens. Mona and Kokomi and aggressively yelling at Scaramouche. They would attack him, but there’s a blur of electro and hydro around him and Childe looks kinda unhinged and they decide to not get involved.

-Childe activates his foul legacy.

-All of the archons stop and stare at him.

-At some point Albedo and Itto have left the restaurant. Albedo is sketching and taking notes and Itto is cheering.

-Zhongli sighs and creates a shield between Childe and Scaramouche. Childe is distracted and accidentally looses control of his transformation. Zhongli forcibly drags him away from scaramouche, who is laughing. Zhongli flips everyone off, throws a meteor at them, and then pulls Childe back to where he was eating brunch and proceeds to act like everything is normal and the world around them isn’t chaos.

Today’s been a busy day, with Xiao working as your partner for two tolling tasks.

[tasks elaboration starts, refer to bonus 28.1α)

After a long day of work, you four return to your teapot. Noelle immediately goes to help cook for everyone, while Lumine deals with the Hydro+Geo chaotic fighters. Since you and Xiao had nothing else to do, you perked up with an idea.

“Xiao! Wanna sleep together?” You asked for his consent. Seeing that he was blushing and stuttering, you realise what you unintentionally implied. “Oh no it sounded wrong- I meant to cuddle and rest together! Only if you’d like to of course.” Noticing a stray leaf on his head, you gingerly plucked it off and pet his hair to remove the mud.

Ah just- screw Venti for telling him what ‘innuendos’ mean, now Xiao overthinking everything, just in case he missed things. Especially concerning your words. Unused to such ‘human’ affections, he only nodded since he has no idea how to respond properly, trying to give you a small smile.

‘He’s so cute oof.’ It’s good that you didn’t say that out loud. You just carried Xiao into the bedroom. You were worried that he’d be too tired so you thought that’s be sweet to do, and Xiao is left surprised and melting in your arms.

Settling you two on the comfy bed, you cuddled the still-processing Xiao and closed your eyes. He followed your suit and eventually, he drifts off before you do. You were thinking about what to do with the cult and how you should do this with Xiao more often. This adepti keeps insisting that he doesn’t need to sleep or rest, and this proved that he deserves rest from the world. You feel his breathing slow down to a sleeping pace from his breathes, since you let him rest his head above yours. You continue cuddling him and trying to sleep.

Childe is extra giddy after fighting his homies Itto and Lumine, so he was louder than usual, almost waking up Xiao in the process. “WHAT’S UP MY grace-“ He was met with your threatening glare and you pulling out a KNIFE from Xiao’s pockets. Oh right you did gift Xiao a pocket knife earlier today. You hissed for Lumine and she gave you a wink as Childe gets hauled away and muffled. Childe shuts up after Lumine tells him she has Teucer hostage in a joking whisper.

Aether silently peeks in and mouths “do you need anything?” with a slight bow of his head. You shook your head, he gives you a smiley thumbs-up and leaves with his emergency food in tow. You continue cuddling Xiao after Aether lightly closes your door. Aether helped you lower the general volume of the cult and they left you alone under Lumine’s warning to beat them herself if anyone tries to disturb you two. literally just another giant post of Bakugou faces.

so I did this last year, but I only got up to chapter 120 before I ran out of steam. happily, though, this left me with an additional 190 chapters’ worth of glorious gremlin faces to choose from for this year’s edition! which I figure I had better do, before tumblr finally pulls the plug on my poor sweet image limit.

so without further ado, happy birthday to Kacchan, and happy birthday to Kacchan’s asymmetrical HAH face where his eyes do the thing like ( ◣益◢).

why I like it: so this is from Kirishima’s flashback in chapter 133, where Kirishima was getting all down on himself because his quirk Only Does One Thing, and Kacchan was all “nah bro don’t worry about it because your One Thing is totally fucking rad, and you’re strong enough to withstand anything.” so that of course was incredibly sweet, and one of the few times we’ve seen him give an actual heartfelt pep talk without so much as a single insult thrown into the mix. but what really puts this scene over the top for me is the fact that you can see the ever-so-subtle hints of guilt and regret when he talks about All Might and Kamino. for just a moment, he gets this distant look in his eyes, and his expression turns soft and contemplative. basically this is a rare collector’s edition Kacchan face you will not find in many other places.

why I like it: because this frankly needs to happen in every damn fight until this kid finally gets it through his thick skull to ditch the mask so we can see every fantastic facial expression in full 4k glory. work with me here please Kacchan.

why I like it: because character growth!! this was our first big moment of post-DvK2 Kacchan development, and the payoff was well worth the wait. it only took him 166 chapters to realize that it’s hard to grow as a person if you’re determined to be a humongous dick to every single person you meet!! lmao, but it’s progress though.

why I like it: these two panels are criminally underrated. the way his face transforms when Deku gets the answer wrong dlkjfldk. this is easily one of the funniest subtle gags in the entire series.

why I like it: “hey Bakugou do you want to play in our band?” “fuck you, no.” “pretty please.” “fine, but I refuse to call it a band.” “well then what do you want to call it -- ” “MURDER.”

why I like it: GONNA MURDER EVERYONE BY PLAYING THE DRUMS!!!! SOMEHOW WE’VE SUCCESSFULLY COMPARTMENTALIZED THIS SCHOOL-SANCTIONED DISPLAY OF PERFORMING ARTS AS A DEATH MATCH. OH TO UNDERSTAND THE INNER WORKINGS OF THIS YOUNG MAN’S MIND.

why I like it: hah?! I love how he has to tilt his neck all the way back every single time he does this. he’s so cute I love him so much.

why I like it: somewhere around this point in the manga Kacchan decided to do away with being handsome and decided to just be a full-time gremlin in every single panel. this persisted for the next 90 chapters or so and he was very dedicated. I’m pretty sure he was going for vulgar and intimidating, but unfortunately for him he’s too inherently adorable and so the end result is just endearing and almost charming in its own way.

why I like it: this was from chapter 194 when Aizawa was announcing that they’d have a special guest for the Joint Training arc, and so Kacchan was all “BOY OH BOY A NEW ASS TO KICK.”

why I like it: more character development! and just look at that confidence! he’s fully recovered from his low point after Kamino and the provisional exam. he knows what he’s about now, and he is THRIVING. and once again you can see how his conviction inspires the people around him and makes them more determined. just, he is going to be such a good number one hero you guys.

why I like it: it’s the three little “!!!” lines hovering in the corner next to his head for me. “oh my god it’s All Might, All Might saw me being cool and Saving To Win and stuff, what’s he gonna say what do I do omg quick act natural.”

why I like it: QUICK HIDE YOUR FEELINGS!! WE CAN’T LET THE NEIGHBORS KNOW WE CARE. fjkdlsjklk

why I like it: this is his expression when he first sees Deku activate Blackwhip for the first time. it’s one of the few unguarded expressions of complete surprise that we’ve gotten from him and I love it thank you.

why I like it: classic asymmetrical HAH face. he truly has perfected this look. look at him, casually clinging to a pole for no reason other than to look dynamic. this boy truly cannot sit or stand or walk or do anything normally. he spent three months working his ass off to catch up to Deku and the others, and now that he finally has he’s filled with so much pent-up energy that he simply cannot hold it back anymore and he’s gotta climb a pole. he’s just gotta.

why I like it: because he is so fucking good at saving people now you guys, he’s like a whole-ass professional and shit, and yet it hasn’t changed who he is one single iota. he will save your life and he will SCREAM AT YOU WHILE DOING IT and you’ll sit there and be grateful goddammit.

why I like it: o noo he was caught unawares. All Might was all “I’m gonna have a dad moment and nobody can stop me” and he walked right up to him and put his hand on his head because he’s All Might and so what is he even gonna do about it. nothing, that’s what. you got played, Kacchan. outmaneuvered and outfoxed. all he can do is stand there and make that grumpy face he makes when he’s receiving unwanted affection (҂⌣̀_⌣́).

why I like it: more unwanted affection. now they’re even feeding him ffs. how could he let this happen. mm chicken.

why I like it: GREATEST ASYMETRICAL HAH?! FACE OF ALL TIME. out of all the people to befriend him against his will, Todoroki is by far the most confusing to him and it’s just so great.

why I like it: this is when Hawks is staring at him in chapter 244 because he fake-killed his mentor and stuff and he feels sorta guilty about it. but meanwhile Kacchan just thinks he’s trying to start some shit, and so he’s all “I WAS FASTER THAN YOU BACK THERE YOU KNOW” and Hawks is all “hahaha okay little buddy you just keep telling yourself that”, because as previously discussed Kacchan is too adorable to ever be intimidating.

why I like it: this is from 246 when he’s in the middle of arguing with Burnin’ and all of a sudden Endeavor calls to him and he’s just like o shit what’d I do.

why I like it: because Endeavor’s mentoring them and shit and he’s just casually sitting there eating his lunch like yeah. with his lil hamster cheeks lulz.

why I like it: the look that instantly became iconic. this panel cured me of the misconception that Bakugou “goes to bed at 8:30pm” Katsuki was a morning person. the truth is he loathes all times of the day equally.

why I like it: this one is a team effort because Deku’s faces are equally as good. I’m genuinely shocked that this family dinner with the Todorokis didn’t prematurely unlock Danger Sense. you can tell that he and Deku have a silent agreement to call a temporary truce on their rivalry for as long as they sit at this table as outsiders in this strange land. this is by far the most hazardous meal Bakugou has ever experienced, and yet the mapo tofu is too good to go to waste, so he’s just shoveling it down his throat trying to finish as much as possible before shit inevitably hits the fan.

why I like it: Kacchan is New Here so he doesn’t yet realize that if the Todorokis are spilling family secrets, there is always inevitably going to be someone listening in the shadows just outside the door.

why I like it: the battle with Ending was probably peak gremlin!Kacchan. like, we’ve had gremlin before and afterwards, but never quite to this same degree. Horikoshi really decided to push the limits of contorting this child’s face in the strangest ways.

why I like it: peak. gremlin.

why I like it: nothing to see here, just Kacchan quietly realizing after 252 chapters that he MIGHT have been just a BIT of a cartoonishly villainous asshole to Deku back at the beginning there ha ha ha oh god oh fuck.

why I like it: because he found the answer to What It Is That He Lacks, and he’s all cool and calm and infuriatingly secretive about it. it’s such a sudden and stark contrast to the gremlin faces he was making only moments earlier, and it makes this moment hit home that much more.

why I like it: because this is him being friends with Deku!! like for real though!! because he’s fucking around and insulting him and making weird faces and stuff, but it’s because in his mind That’s What Friends Do. they clown on each other and help each other train and shit. half an hour after this they’ll go down to the training gym and play Catch-A-Kacchan, and then he’ll quietly confess to All Might that he wants to atone. he may be a gremlin, but he’s a gremlin with layers goddammit.

why I like it: because this is right after TomurAFO shows up out of nowhere and scares the shit out of him and Deku and makes them see a terrifying death vision and stuff, and you can see how shaken up he is by it. he definitely understands how close they came to dying just then and he’s sobered the fuck up. this is the moment when it really sinks in that shit has gotten real. eight minutes from now he’ll move without thinking and save Deku’s life.

why I like it: hydro homies. nothing restores those electrolytes like good old Raquaius Sports Drink.

why I like it: because this panel was when it started to become clear that the real reason he grabbed this sports drink was to pretend like he was busy so he could act like he wasn’t interested in Deku’s training because god forbid the neighbors know that he actually cares.

why I like it: because the sideways glance!! and the fact that he doesn’t deny it!! in fact he does the opposite of denying it, and he basically starts pouring his heart out about how goddamn worried he actually is. he’s guilty and anxious and restless and this entire conversation is amazing.

why I like it: he looks so goddamn young here. when he finally stops scrunching up his face and putting on his usual tough guy act and for once allows his actual emotions to show on his face instead, the result is so damn striking. for once we got an entire conversation with no gremlin faces, because Horikoshi had to drop them completely in order to show just how serious he is here. which was incredibly effective btw.

why I like it: because he’s basically just fidgeting with the bottle now to avoid making eye contact with All Might because he just revealed a deep dark secret to him and he’s precariously vulnerable right now. that’s the body language of a kid who knows how badly he fucked up, and just wants to hear from someone else if it’s going to be okay, if he can still make it okay. he looks so small here.

why I like it: the worry lines under his eyes. the look of uncertainty and wanting to believe that what All Might says is true (“you’ll get a chance to talk eventually”). the hesitance to turn back and look at him, and the way he doesn’t dare until he finally gets that small bit of reassurance. All Might isn’t judging him. All Might understands him and understands where he’s coming from, and he’s giving him his blessing. he’s giving him a thumbs up and reassuring him that he sees the change in him and sees that he’s sincerely trying, and basically saying that he has faith that he and Deku will be able to work it out. and you can see that it means a lot.

why I like it: because this kid spent his entire internship with Jeanist doing nothing but bitching nonstop, and then later on when Jeanist went missing he was all tight-lipped about it because once again NOBODY CAN KNOW THAT WE CARE GODDAMMIT, and it was all very Classic Bakugou. but then Jeanist finally shows up again at Jakku, and we get this little moment of happy, smirky FUCK YEAH, I KNEW YOU WEREN’T DEAD YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE, and it’s just the best.

why I like it: HE’S SO UNABASHEDLY PROUD GOD BLESS HIM.

why I like it: because he nearly died and then he woke up here in the hospital two days later not knowing where anybody else is or whether they’re even still alive, and this, my friends. this is finally the moment. the moment where he was all FUCK IT, MAYBE WE CAN LET THE NEIGHBORS KNOW WE CARE AFTER ALL. character fucking development. you love to see it.
