Kingdom: Mega

World of Kayla

A kingdom nestled in the haunted pine forests, Mega is infamous for its riches. The capital city is the only place open to visitors, situated on the foothills of the great Baari Mountain Range. The Betals living in Mega are always conversing with the spirits of people long gone.

The actual population lives deep within the mountain range, or in small groups scattered by the forests. Underground temples, grand mansions and mines for riches are regular for the Betals. The sun never rises in Mega, the mist of the spirits and making it impossible for anything to pass through. Therefore, it’s always cold in the kingdom.

Many have tried, and failed, to plunder the kingdom. Betals can not only call upon spirits but also channel the power of different creatures. Making them as unnatural as sorcerers in the world of Kayla.

Very few animals venture in the cold- goats and bears thus often become lifelong companions of the people living there. If you are lucky, an occasional Peryton might come down and bond with a Betal too.

The most impressive thing about Mega is the Temple of Dorian. Very few have been lucky enough to visit this masterpiece that holds years of knowledge and hundreds of servants. Some say that the Goddess lives there. The truth remains unknown.

Just A Little Doctor's Note

I have been receiving a lot of correspondence lately regarding the subject of people harassing others with regard to their rather flattering art pieces based on myself and my dear friends. In particular, the issue with individuals forcing their opinions onto others.

I would like to take a moment to address this once and for all, as I will no longer be responding to any messages on this subject matter, as I feel I have explained my own personal feelings on this time and time again in the most clear and concise manner that I can.

I am a firm believer of respecting the opinions of others. I am not in the least bit offended when a person creates an artistic piece of myself in a much more decadent light. While I may not display these to safeguard eyes of a younger variety, it is something I am not against, as it is a form of expression that I would hate to stymie.

I also respect the opinions of those who dislike the more showy pieces. It is their preference and I believe that they have a right to it, as does everyone.

However.

I will never be supportive, publicize, or otherwise agree with any kind of harassment, targeting, bullying, or heinous behaviour to either side of the coin. I will never agree with those who try to force their opinion onto others, belittle them, or make them feel like dirt under one's shoe for simply having their own tastes and preferences.

Please, friends. Please be kind. Please be respectful and supportive. This world is full of negativity and I would hate to see it spill out among those that I hold very dear to my heart.

Worldbuilding Wednesday

(A new series about how I go about creating the world I place my stories in)

Today's topic: The World itself

While every worldbuilding post talks about the nuances, I think its important to think about what the WORLD is all about.

Do you want to make your regular world magical? A hidden city? A different world altogether? An alternative reality? A different planet in this world so that one day you can travel there?

Well...why not.

The World is a vast topic, and you can be as vague and as detailed avout it as you want it to be. Whether its fanfiction or original work,

My World, Kayla, is a different world, but connected to Earth. Heavily inspired by Narnia, it had to have talking animals and moving plants early on. Ever since I created it at 8 years old, I have gone on to add my interest according to age- multiculturality, different kingdom, representation of Earth's varied culture as much as I can and a general sense of magic, while have some defined rules.

Honestly, it's still not complete. Hear Ye encapsulates one city in this wide world, reflecting a romanticized Mughal world with Lucknow vibes but with, you know, sea and mermaids.

Its neighbouring country is vastly different.

In the end, your world reflects what you want. It can be dark or light. Don't run after making it realistic, because reality is already fucking us over. Be happy in your world, whether it is a "pure" world or a "gory" world.

Its yours. Own it and morph it.

Secret South African documents reveal that Israel offered to sell nuclear warheads to the apartheid regime, providing the first official documentary evidence of the state's possession of nuclear weapons. The "top secret" minutes of meetings between senior officials from the two countries in 1975 show that South Africa's defence minister, PW Botha, asked for the warheads and Shimon Peres, then Israel's defence minister and now its president, responded by offering them "in three sizes". The two men also signed a broad-ranging agreement governing military ties between the two countries that included a clause declaring that "the very existence of this agreement" was to remain secret. The documents, uncovered by an American academic, Sasha Polakow-Suransky, in research for a book on the close relationship between the two countries, provide evidence that Israel has nuclear weapons despite its policy of "ambiguity" in neither confirming nor denying their existence.
