Did FIA wait for Sebastian Vettel’s retirement before rule change?

It is hard to see the merits of the FIA’s updated rule change for as much as they will say it safeguards against controversial messages in Formula 1, the reality is it has never been used for that.

The campaigns focused on last season were all about equal rights and while that seems a fairly universally agreeable topic, the location of some of the races have made it into a so-called political one.

But why now? F1 has long raced in countries that do not look too kindly towards women or non-hetrosexual people so could it be because one of the two most outspoken drivers is no longer on the grid?

The FIA would never confirm it either way but it does seem rather coincidental that as soon as Sebastian Vettel retires, this new rule is introduced, leaving just Lewis Hamilton to fly the flag.

If other drivers felt they could step up in Vettel’s place, this move by the FIA has made it a lot harder.

What are some of the main/well known sexualities?

There are many common sexualities. The most common are Hetrosexual, Homosexual, Bisexual, Pansexual, and Asexual. I may have missed a few, I see these as the main 5.

Heterosexual (Straight): Hetrosexuality is the typical straight relationship. It is being attracted to a person the opposite gender of you. Hetro relationships are male and female.

Homosexual: Homosexuality is being sexually attracted to a person with the same gender as you. For males the term gay is often used. And for females the term lesbain is often used. The blue/green flag is the gay flag and the orange/pink is the lesbain flag.

on january 16th, 1988 Marcos and Ophelia Romano welcomed a healthy baby boy. he was a surprise at first since the doctors had gotten it wrong as they were prepared for a girl but when he had graced the world with his presence his parents were over the moon.

benjamin was quite the handful growing up. he was constantly getting into trouble starting as soon as he could walk and talk. his parents tried to find things for their toddler to get into but nothing seemed to keep his focus until one day his dad turned on a race and benji sat still watching with his dad.

he got into kart racing when he was younger always wanting to be the top racer of his age group and found himself dreaming of doing something with the sport whether it be working on the cars or being an actual racer he knew his goal was to some day race alongside his hero’s

When he was 29 and on winter break an ex hookup of his came knocking on his door and when he opened the door all she did was pass over the sleeping baby and said ‘I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I can’t do this’ and left leaving both benji and Amelia behind without a second glance. His whole world turned upside down in that moment and he had no idea what to do but when he looked into the baby’s eyes he vowed to let nothing happen to her. 

He became the ultimate girl dad but he also didn’t want to give up on his career so he brought his family on the road with him, parents and all to make it work and he thinks he’s done an okay job so far. But now that Amelia is five years old he’s thinking about settling down and taking a break from his dreams to be the best he can be

Benji is pretty much a grumpy sunshine he can have that look of fuck off but he would easily ask you to please leave him alone. He’s also really protective of his family and closest friends. They could ask anything of him and he’d drop everything to take care of them (unless he had to be at a dance recital for Amelia she always comes first in his books)

Since June is coming up and that’s pride month a quick PSA for my followers! 

The only people who aren’t LGBT+ are cishets. Meaning, hetrosexual hetroromantic AND cisgender all at the same time. If you claim someone isn’t “LGBT” or Cishet when they don’t identify with all three of these labels, you’re incorrect. Stop bothering people. unless OP specifically said they like to call themselves cishet or don’t think they’re LGBT

And for the cishets out there! If you’re feeling left out this pride month with no flag to put in your profile picture try the ally straight flag.

As far as I’ve heard this flag means “I’m not LGBT, but I support LGBT people!” which is also valid. I don’t know if there’s any drama behind the person who made the flag, or it means something different, but as far as I’m aware it’s okay to use!

Hey, before 171218, wanted to thank you for #butts and generally being sex positive. I kind of got it into my head that seeking out and admiring attractive people doing sexy things was, well, not something you should do. But Tumblr helped change that. You introduced me to April O’Neil and Dita vonTease, and modeled a happy marriage that includes looking at sexy people doing sexy things. I’m going to miss that casual positivity on Monday.

You are describing what will be the worst thing to lose tomorrow: the community of kind and positive people who gathered here because it was, largely, safe for us. It’s interesting to know that, in the service of Vulture Capitalists and other 1%ers, Tumblr will drive away a substantial number of good people who happen to be sex-positive, who may be something other than CIS hetrosexuals, and their friends and loved ones who are here to be with them. It’s further interesting to note that, while Tumblr does this -- by design -- it is leaving every single hateful, racist, Nazi, white supremacist, incel, misogynist, cruel and destructive blog and their followers untouched.

There’s a strong and dangerous Libertarian ideology that runs deep in Silicon Valley that directly and indirectly supports actions that quite tellingly never affect CIS white hetero men, but have profoundly dangerous and harmful consequences for literally every other group of people. 

Through actions like Tumblr’s upcoming ban that will (through post flagging) disproportionately affect LGBTQ people, like Jack Dorsey’s refusal to address the hate and white supremacy on Twitter, like Facebook’s decision to use right-wing anti-Semitic dogwhistles to deflect attention from its systemic privacy violations, like Reddit’s embrace of right-wing and white nationalist users, it is impossible to deny that the decision makers in the board rooms at the biggest social media platforms are at the very least sympathetic to the voices and ideas of white supremacists and misogynists, and at worst in total agreement with their positions. Every choice these people make moves what should be fringe voices and ideas further and further into the mainstream, while they marginalize and punish nonviolent voices that call for justice and equality.

Social media is broken and it’s the fault of the failed leaders at the main social media platforms, who will be remembered with disdain and contempt by history.

Wow ..... uh .... this answer sort of spun off into a rant, so let me bring it back to what you initially said: I don’t know Dita (though it would make my LIFE to meet her) but April is a very good friend of mine, and I love that you found her work, her nerdiness, and her awesomeness through this Tumblr thingy I run. I’m so sorry that you’re going to be losing a platform and a place where you felt at home and safe. I hope that those of us who stay can use our privilege to move Tumblr back to the place it was yesterday.
