Hey remember when i bound the first half of from the archives? well i've finally done the rest! and honestly i am so proud of it. i tried some new things with the binding, and i am almost completely happy with how it turned out! the only improvement for next time would probably be actually measuring things.

I’m curious about how you found Heartstopper! Like what’s your Heartstopper origin story?

I first read Heartstopper in Jan 2021. The third volume had just won the Goodreads reader’s choice award for best graphic novel, and I was wanting to read more queer stories and more graphic novels so I thought perfect! Two birds with one stone!

I ended up LOVING it way more than I thought I would, and my timing was perfect because right around the time I got caught up with the most recent updates online, THE SHOW GOT GREEN LIT!!! I remember literally screaming and throwing my phone across the room and dancing with joy.

Flash forward to now and I’ve got brainrot from reading it 20ish times and watching it 5 times, but I have no plans of stopping anytime soon.

Hiromi is a BEEFCAKE. And I don't have any good pictures of him on my phone so u get this (which is also pretty accurate for people who strength train actually)

Joe probably trains specifically for agility, but that isn't to say larger men wouldn't be able to go toe to toe with him either. He'd have an advantage for aerial tricks I'd assume and honestly I'm mostly talking out of my ass here bc I know jack shit about skating, but I've formerly trained for professional wrestling so that's what I relate it to

Hiromi seems like he's new to lifting so that'd probably be his biggest disadvantage in a hypothetical strength test with the two of em BUT HES GOT A LOT OF HEART-- he would probably pull something by lifting too much bc he wanted to impress the manager lbr

I’m not saying these situations are the same AT ALL and I know I don’t know these people AT ALL, but the Joe/Taylor situation reminds me of two friends in my work friend group who we all watched crush on each other, start dating, become a couple, etc. To the point that they became a Unit and were together for years. Then they broke up and went their separate ways (something something how evergreen our group of friends don’t think we’ll say that word again) and there was a lot of hurt and bitterness and resentment there and we all went from thinking, “obviously they are going to be a couple they’re perfect for one another,” to “wow they’re such different people I can’t imagine them being together in the first place they have zero in common” to now close to a decade later legit forgetting they ever dated because it feels like soooooo long ago and their orbits would just never cross ever again. Like, not only would they clearly never date as the people they are now, they wouldn’t even give each other a second glance. (And this is a guy who once walked around with heart eyes whenever she was around and a girl who thought he hung the moon.)

And like, a year ago we as fans were all sad for Taylor because by all accounts she’d found her person and were hard pressed to picture her with someone else who’d get her as much as he did, and now looking at it from above the trees (ahem) I can’t even ever picture them together because they just seem sooooooo different (in lifestyle, temperament, priorities, personalities, etc.) And while admittedly I could not picture her at all with Travis when the rumours first started about them dating, seeing them now they just seem to make so much sense despite the superficial differences.

Life comes at you fast etc.

#but also yet another example of how as extraordinary as their lives are the breakup is the most painfully normal thing to happen #as for my friends the guy got engaged to the next girl he dated (of course) #the girl who is still one of my besties has had a series of unfortunate breakups with emotionally immature men lol #then went through her Activities era this fall after her last breakup lol #but may have finally found one of the rare emotionally intelligent men so there’s hope! #like obviously the situations aren’t analogous because my friends were much younger and while they were serious #they weren’t cohabiting serious #but their families were enmeshed and my friend did grieve losing her bf’s mom as support when they broke up #I’m just saying that as ‘perfect’ as Taylor and Joe seemed a few years ago #I can’t picture them as ever sharing more than a passing hello if they met as their current selves #it’s wild how people and circumstances change
