before i request i just wanted to say your writing is so good!!!(literally made me giggle and scream no joke) and if this may interest you I'd love to request something! so the idea is a bit abstract you can play around with it- the reader is a relatively new vampiric overlord, and became close friends with rosie because well, cannibal and a blood sucker just have common grounds of friendship, and this all happened during Alastor's absence. And the reader is also at neutral terms with the other overlords, and kinda like a person who just everyone wants to talk to, and itls generally nice. so it's kinda like she is taking over Alastor's life in a way? like, Alastor thinks finally no one is singing her praises at the hazbin hotel and boom charlie introduces a new employee, the reader. i know this is a lot and I'd totally understand if you dont take up this request, but if you do thanks a lot!! thank you so much!!

alastor’s absence for seven years was a great mystery to many. 

most sinners feared his sudden return to massacre a good amount of them in one go. but during this absence, a lot has changed in pride ring—and that includes the rise of a new overlord that would sooner or later be the cause of major changes in his life, and whether those changes are good or bad is for him to find out.

the first time he meets you is during the overlord meeting after yet another extermination.

“oh, alastor! this is yn, the most uncanny bloodsucker in all of hell,” rosie says.

“she’s an absolute dear.”

“hello, i believe this is our first meeting.” you extend your hand. 

alastor’s glare is sharp and unreadable. for a second, he doesn’t say anything and simply assesses your figure, though eventually he takes your hand and shakes it. 

“pleasure’s all mine,” he replies.

there’s something in the back of alastor’s head that’s nagging him that something is about to go wrong, and yet he paid no mind to the incessant worrying of both his thoughts and the shadow that tailed him wherever he went. he just had to be cautious, play his cards right, and eliminate you if need be.

but judging by how most overlords had already greeted you and looked forward to talking to you, he assumed that you were on common ground with the majority of them.

that’s no good.

he won’t let a newcomer hog most of the attention now, can he?

the vampire overlord this, the vampire overlord that—hello! he was back in town! and not one sinner cowered before him, as they’re too busy to even notice his presence.

for satan’s sake, everywhere he went, he kept hearing of you.

rosie’s emporium? you just bought fresh bloody fingers and even took a cannibal with you—or so he’s heard.

his trusted tailor? too busy to finish your custom-made suit, alastor didn’t even get the chance to get his suit fixed.

it seemed as though anywhere he went, you were always ahead of him.

it’s fine; it’s ok. 

alastor is reassuring himself because no one has been on his nerves this much before. not even the noisy picture box of an old pal of his. not even the king of hell himself, the majesty that was just too easy to provoke.

but you—you were just too passive—too mysterious—dare he say out of reach?

it’s mentally taxing to plot against you when you’ve done nothing wrong to him personally. 

if he killed you, would anyone know that it was him?

he contemplates in his room, most of his thoughts immersed in you. it’s so out of character for him, but then again, who in this wretched place understood him thoroughly?

just when alastor thought that he could have a pleasant, quiet morning of listening to nothing but the screams of sinners dying in the recent newspaper, charlotte had gathered everyone in the main lobby for a “super-duper important meeting.”

“i wonder what this could be about,” his static voice is heard.

“quite frankly, i was in the middle of reading my favorite newspaper.”

“you could still read it even when you’re here,” vaggie’s unamused reply came. 

“oh, where are your manners, my dear? i’m certain that your lover would not be ecstatic to find out that not all of the inhabitants of this hotel are listening to her, isn’t that right?” his smile broadened at the last question, fixing his black knotted bowtie.

“whatever,” she sighs, “just pay attention.”

charlotte came in practically jumping with every step she took as the patrons of the hotel awaited what she was about to say.

“ok, so i know that our hotel is still a bit understaffed—but! i have amazing news!”

“we’re finally charging the guests an expensive price without changing the way we treat them?”

“what? no!” she shook her head.

“capitalism is one of the worst things there is to exist. that, and violence—and the extermination, of course.”

“then?”

“we have a new staff.” charlotte opened a portal, and the demon who stepped from it had alastor ripping the seams of the leather couch unintentionally.

“ta-da!” 

a wave of bats came rushing in and dropped pieces of confetti over them.

how fun.

“this is yn; you may know her for being an overlord, just like a certain investor we have, but now she’s our chef!”

this might just be alastor’s nightmare incarnate.

“what is it that you’re after?” he confronts you just when you’re putting away the dishes.

“hm? whatever could you mean, alastor? ”

“disregard what i said.”

alastor smiled, getting uncomfortably close to you.

your reaction is, as always, unbothered and confused. he doesn’t find it entertaining when demons shrug him off as if he were nobody—no more than a mere sinner.

“but do remember that if you put this hotel in harm’s way, i’ll be the one you’ll be dealing with,” he chuckled.

“noted,” you reply.

“bloody venison? i heard from charlie that you preferred meals like this, and i must say, we have quite a lot in common than you think.”

you licked the blood that spilled on your arm once you set the plate on the huge dining table, nodding your head. it’s just now that he noticed the blood that stained your apron and sleeves, and he’s tempted to have a taste too.

and he physically and mentally stops himself from doing so to show you that he’s indifferent to the way you captivate almost everyone.

“a lot in common,” you say once more.

alastor watches you leave, and his curiosity is at an all-time high. he’s tasted no one’s cooking other than his or his mother’s cooking before, not that anyone really bothered to prepare him a meal because he’d turn them down without a second thought.

but he doesn’t let the effort go to waste.

LOVE: - "you know that post that's like "fandom will call a character evil and immature and then the character is just 15 yo" because that's what happens with blaine. he's just a sweet but socially inept kid with a lot of insecurities who's trying his best. compared to most glee characters he hasn't done anything wrong in his life. and yes he cheated on his boyfriend that one time, but he was super depressed afterwards (also this is glee literally every character has cheated and none have suffered as most as blaine because of it). in conclusion he's just a silly goose. my little princess <3"

"A lot of people say he's the male Rachel Berry, and while I think that is absolutely a true statement, I actually don't mind his personality all that much. Literally everyone in Glee has a personality that ranges from inconsistent to downright horrendeus, so instead of talking about what he's like, here's some things he canonically does (buckle up, this'll be long): In season 2, when we first meet him, he's the leader of his school's showchoir. (redflag no.1/j) This gives him the freedom and authoritity to do a lot of stuff- not all bad, but he does serenade a closeted guy he doesn't know all that well, who works in costumer service AT HIS WORKPLACE, with a song about sex toys. (The guy in question ends up getting fired of course). He also gives some pretty hypocritical advice to his love interest, Kurt, about how he should try to blend in (hypocritical, cuz Blaine does the opposite and he's thriving under the attention), and he asks some insesitive questions, but those are all pretty excusable, or at least standard for Glee. In s3, him and Kurt are boyfriends, and he transitions school for him, which we could absolutely count as a decent thing, however it all kinda sours when he gets the part of Tony in the school's production of West side story. Why is this important? Kurt is a senior, and the performing arts university he's applying for is really competitive, so he needs all the extra curriculars and theatre experiance he can get. He asks Blaine to not aidition for Tony- which he agrees to- than promptly goes against that by singing one of Tony's songs at audition. He then gets offfered the role, doesn't turn it down, tells Kurt he should be happy for him, and honestly, BY GLEE STANDARDS, this is also pretty chill. Meanwhile: enter Sebastian Smythe, another contraversial character, who's now the new captain of Blaine's former showchoir, and who decides that either 1. Blaine is hot 2. Gonna use Blaine as an informat (His reasons are unclear tbh) Either way, he starts flirting with Blaine, who does end up rejecting his advances and telling him he's taken (though much later than it's probably ethical, idk tho, I'm aro). He (Blaine) really enjoys the attention though, so they end up keeping in touch. (Important for later.) Back to our main plot though; Blaime doesn't have sexual chemistry with his co-star, so the director tells him to lose his virginity (yes, you heared that right, it is fucked up). So he tries to sleep with Kurt, who of course, doesn't know that his boyfriend's sudden interest in him is due to directoral instructions. And then probably the most contraversial Blaine scene happens- see, Blaine, Kurt, and Sebastian (who Kurt hates with passion) end up going to this gaybar. Blaime gets drunk (though he only drinks one beer on screen, so we don't exactly know how drunk), and tries to sleep with Kurt in the parking lot. Kurt is visibly upset, and tells him no multiple times. Blaime doesn't oblige, and Kurt ends up shouting at him, which Blaine...doesn't take well, and blames Kurt, then leaves by foot. (They end up having sex by the end of this episode btw. No, Kurt still doesn't know about the directoral instructions. Whether he does it out of love or fear that Blaine will leave him is unclear) So we already know these two are not very good at boundries and communication, but the writers say they're "soulmates" so apperantly it's okay? Anyway, this all culminates in cheating incident no.1, where Kurt meets a guy whom he shares similar interests with, and who gives him some very cheesy compliements. They exchange numbers, and text a lot. Blaine doesn't like this. He checks their texts in secret, and then sings a song in front of the entire Glee club about how he's being cheated on, to humiliate Kurt.

Kurt insists it's not cheating, giving the example that Blaine's doing the same/used ro do the same with Sebastian. Blaine says "that's different" and they leave it at that. Kurt apologises via song. S4- Kurt moves to New York. Has to work a lot, since rebt is high, and also gets an internship at vague, so he's quite busy. Blaine feels ignored, so he cheats on him with some guy we only see the facebook profile of. They break up. S5- Blaine has a crush in this other guy, Sam. (He's been trying to get Kurt back, so him moving on is a big deal). Except gay marrige gets legalized, and Blaine decides to propose to Kurt. So he gets back together with him, then bot a week later he arranges a huge public proposal where it'd honestly just be plain emberassing to say no, but dontcha worry, because Kurt accepts. They move to New York together. Blaine becomes insecure, because Kurt gets ripped thanks to his fencing lessons, meanwhile he lrts go of himself a bit, enjoying all the fine food New York has to offer. His reaction to this is to try manipulating/tricking Kurt into eating copious amounts of food too. (To be fair, Kurt's reaction to the situation isn't perfect either, but this is not about him, their actions can co-exist without one of them necessarily having to be "the right one") S6- Kurt breaks up with Blaine. Blaine ends up going back to Ohio, and dating the guy who bullied, non-consensually kissed, than threatened to kill Kurt. (The guy did have a redemption arc, but I still dunno how to feel) You might be wondering- "wow, this was so lpng and extensive", and you'd be right but also this was mostly romantic relationship centric. There's also a lot of stuff Blaine says to his friends that make me question my sanity, but this is Glee, so that's every character in basically every episode. What makes me hate Blaine isn't even JUST all this- it's the fact that in universe, he almost never gets called-out, people take his side, it's as if the writers are condoning his actions, and I Don't Like That. I'm all for liking morally grey, or even morally dispicable characters, as long as their actions don't get excused. Hell, I started out just mildly disliking Blaine, but a lot of people paint him as innocent and pure, and that didn't feel right. Then I was ready to like him BECUASE of his questionable morality- but turns out, the guy doean't have much else going on besides this. His personality is almost the same as Rachel, except Rachel's more...full? If that makes sense? Blaine is just...bland. And inconsistent, and boring, and I just Do Not Like Him At All."

Baron Van Zieks:

LOVE: - "man's 6'4", british, looks like a vampire, took a mental health break for 5 years thanks to the dead bodies that cropped up after he lost in court, and is uhhhhhh kinda racist which is a key part of his character. the explanation for it is divisive but he does grow as a character eventually?? i think he's fun. there's a bonus case exclusive to the 3DS version of the games where he mentions he was almost poisoned in one of the first cases he ever handled. he objects with his leg. he brings wine into court but rarely drinks it. he has bats in his office. we have no idea where the scar on his face came from. his voice actor did a subway commercial. i think he wants to believe he is the sane one in the courtroom but that title belongs to the 16 year old judicial assistant for the defense." - "I love to hate him tbh!!! He's a complex interesting character tied up in things outside of his control and being used by the antagonist to hurt people, isolated due to his grief and rumors from the public. He also sucks SO fucking bad and I want to punch him. Lovingly. But I love him I promise."

hi i just have to say! that i think the writing for wille is perfect this season. kinda annoys me that this is a hot take but! i think it makes SENSE. everyone wants wille to be this perfect boy but he actually doesn’t have the foundation to be that person. he had a sterile and isolated upbringing where he has never had any agency while at the same time having obscene wealth and anything he could ever want except for LOVE. like cmon the only people who have probably ever said no to him were his parents!! and they were absent and loveless! and then he loses the closest person in his life only to find out that he wasn’t who he thought he was and AND that maybe he wouldn’t have accepted him. and for so long wille kept erik’s love close to his chest and used it as a life raft. his parents can’t accept him his classmates can’t accept him the world can’t accept him simon can’t see his side but erik. erik would love me through all of this even if my parents won’t. but that comes crumbling down! and i know i am just rehashing the plot of the series but BE FOR REAL EVERYONE. he was set up to be a cold, selfish, privileged asshole and the fact that he fighting back against this and having this deep internal struggle of just wanting LOVE and wanting to be with the boy he loves but he can’t and no one understands is! brave and really hard! the isolation he must feel!!! and also like!!! HE IS A PRINCE HE IS SURROUNDED BY YES MEN!! ofc he has an attitude. also he’s a teenager hello??? the writing makes sense it’s so goooodddd to me personally and edvin Understands wille and portrays this insane struggle so so well. anyway i felt the need to step in and say my piece bc everyone always gushes about how they love that wille isn’t perfect but when they portray all this internal struggle coming to the surface in unhealthy ways everyone throws a fit and turns on him. justice for wille!!!! yeah he’s an asshole but he is trying!!!!!!!! (sorry this is long no one i know irl watches this show so i have opinions)

I agree 100% with this. Wille has always been this very flawed, very sheltered character and I LOVE what they did with him in s3 even though it really, really hurt to see it, naturally, because I just want these characters to be happy together (and I still think they will be, after some work and more talking and Wille making some decisions). But yeah, this isn't new for Wille, Wille wasn't "ruined" this season, that's the Wille we know and love and yeah, that makes a bunch of questionable decisions because of the fucked up way he grew up. But I mean that's the beauty, right, he found a guy who can finally show him that that's not something he has to be stuck in, that change is possible, that working on himself and getting better for himself and the people around him is not only important but possible. I mean Wille literally told Simon he learns from him. This id anything but easy and anything but a linear process, but he's there and he's willing to do the work!!!!!

I really try not to get too deep into any of the discussions, especially about character morality, just because we're still one episode short and also because the onslaught of theories and opinions and everything is nerve-wracking as is and I try to guard a last piece of sanity, but seriously THANK YOU for this. You put into words what I haven't been able to 💜

My unpopular Stranger Things opinion is that none of the main characters need to die. At this point any of the characters dying would only be for shock value, and it would only be good if they die to further the plot and if it makes sense for their arc. Like personally, I love these characters far too much to have them die just so people have died & to be shocked 😭

Imo, the only characters it kinda makes sense to kill off are El, Will and Steve.

El, it started with her and will end with her. HOWEVER, this would also not make sense because this just feeds into Hopper’s fears that he’s a curse which he talks about in S4. He already lost one daughter, he can’t lose another.

Will, it does kinda makes sense again bc it started with him it’ll end with him. However I’m pretty confident he’s going to survive going off stuff that Noah’s said

Steve, it kinda makes sense bc he was supposed to die in S1 and his six little nuggets speech in S4 kinda felt like a goodbye speech but this would also mean that Dustin loses another brother-like figure to him after he *just* lost Eddie and also I don’t really think it would do anything for the plot to kill him

I honestly don’t see how any of them can have a happy ending if any of the characters die either, like they’re all this little found family now and they’d all be devastated if any of them were to die.

Also the show has always been about friendships/family, and overcoming fears, and being able to take on absolutely anything as long as you have good people by your side so killing any of them off just doesn’t make sense to me. I want to see them all go off and THRIVE. I want to see Nancy go off to Emerson, and Jonathan go off to NYU, and the Hopper-Byers family get the happy ending they deserve, and Joyce and Hopper get married, and Lucas and Max go on their date at the movies, and Dustin finally see Suzie in person, and Mike work through his stuff and get to properly talk to his family, and Steve and Robin move somewhere together like the platonic soulmates they are, and Will finally accept himself for who he is whether Mike reciprocates his feelings or not, and El realise she’s a good person and not a monster.

They didn’t go through years of absolute trauma just to die at the end. Like Natalia said, it would suck to go through five seasons of this just to die 😭

okay okay gather round sorry this is coming later than i said it would, law school brain. but. at long last, bottoms review time with mollie except this time with lots and lots of spoilers.

i think we covered my general “good movie very funny” thoughts in the spoiler free review, which you can read here so this is gonna be more me info dumping about my thoughts on the plot. and the core of those is that….

PJ IS A LITTLE BITCH!!! i wanted to like her in a “i support women's wrongs” way truly i did but she’s just. an asshole! not all annoying female characters are redeemable, and she is one! that’s not to say her character *existing* annoyed me, i think her being the anti-thesis to josie is an important facet of the movie and the whole “lie falling apart” plot line needed a bad guy so. she was a necessary evil.

that said though gahhhh. i wanted to wring her little neck and ik a satirical movie is not meant to be a realistic example of friendship. i do..but i still think josie was wayyy too forgiving. josie deserves better friends!!! and i fear in a world where these characters are real/the story continues pj needs to idk go to therapy or she’s gonna make josie miserable for being happy with isabel while she’s not in a relationship. (and that is to say she should not be with hazel either! she needs therapy not a girlfriend!)

buttttt but but all that to say i do think rachel did a great job playing her. playing unlikeable characters in a way that makes them unlikeable without a viewer wishing they weren't in the movie at all is a skill set! her being funny and me wanting to punt her across the room are very much thoughts that co-exisit!

moving semi away from pj…the reveal of brittany being straight threw me for such a loop that the next like- 5 minutes of the movie went right over my headkjfkj not to be an insane person but i was gen a little disappointed!! let kaia play a gay character in something that isn’t ahs!! i will wait!!! that said though she actually pulls off the whole “straight girl that isn’t gay just likes gay porn” stereotype very well and made me laugh. i still loved brittany to bits and pieces…heterosexual and all.

josie and isabel. josie and isabel. wahhhhh. wahhhh. my darling girls. when josie almost told her they were lying about juvie but went back on it my heart broke a little bc you could tell she felt guilty and i just ,</3..and yeah she did choose to keep up with the lie when she realized she was getting what she wanted (isabel) but i think the film did a good job of showing how her keeping up with it was different from pj keeping up with it. pj kept up with the lie bc she was on a power trip. josie kept up with it because she didn’t want to lose isabel/lose finally having a geuine connection with a girl/and felt like she had in a way gotten her away from jeff so as long as they kept the lie up she could keep looking out for her.

which is still well, manipulative. lying is bad! but idk i had much more sympathy for her than i did pj. and think when it all came out that josie was actually sorry, whereas pj was only sorry they got caught/still bitter britt was straight. 

those are my main thoughts on it all, but some side bars: lovedd hazel. ruby is great and i am not really a fantasy show person, just not my genre but now i kinda wanna check out willow just to see more of her. the plot twist with jeff actually fucking her mom was soooo early 2000s teen movie and i ate it up. as was the fact that outside of that no one seemed to have parents at all LOL your kids are coming home with black eyes and you don’t have some questions?!?! miles fowler was also really great and tbh i liked him as much as i did kaia in it. esp his flip phone. especially his flip phone. josie's monolouge about marrying a pastor and lavender marriages is what made me start choking on my shake. right up my humor ally as someone who grew up evangelical, and i imagine ayo found it funny for the same reason! was expecting the big josie/isabel hookup scene to be more vulgar less *fade to black* but this is a movie about high schoolers so actually that's a good thing i think?? i accidentally read a spoiler explaining the final killing spree scene months ago and really wish i didn’t bc it would’ve been fun to experience that going in blind.

another side bar to close this out. i *loved* this movie. 5 stars in my book i can’t wait to rewatch it over and over when it’s on prime. but i…kinda disagree with all the tweets saying it’s the next mean girls/heathers/etc cult classic. not because i don’t think it’s good! but because i think comedy film criticism is turning into everything having to be iconic or a future cult classic to be praised? a funny movie can just be a funny movie! it doesn’t have to be the next heathers for you to like it and praise it! does that make sense?

Well at first I wanted to do kinda a normal ebg, no plot or anything bc I don't think I have the smarts to do an elaborate game/story lmao and I kinda wanted to have more established s/i lore?? And then I realized hey I can use the ebg to introduce my s/i!!!

See I'd been working SO hard on her names lately, researching and studying in-game adepti lore and stuff and I though why don't I make it a simple game where the goal is to guess her name (with me giving hints ofc) and at the very start I had the idea of her losing her memories so she could re-discover/remember things about herself alongside the "players" learning them. Whoever character I got as my bias would help her and get to know her too along the way, even npcs (or in the rare case of me getting Dottore/Pantalone, probs be the villain for her memory loss lmao)

And then I got Kazuha. And it was so SO perfect. I took inspiration from Spirited Away with the plot point of having your name/memories/identity stolen and for some reason I remembered the whole Ino-shika-cho koi-koi card combo from Summer Wars I just had this vivid mental image of a scene where Kazuha dropped the biggest hint by writing the Kanji for Butterfly (Chō) which doubles ofc as the Hanzi for Butterfly/Crystalfly (Dié) written the same pronounced (and romanized) differently :3c

I did not end up making haiku bc they are complicated but I at least tried to loosely keep/emulate the 3 phrases, phonetic rhyme and sensory elements while referencing my lil plot lmao

And all this started because I was stressing over the fact that "Crys" is not an appropriate name for a Liyue character lmao, I debated for so long giving her a chinese name, but I didn't want to further make her an OC I wanted her to represent me/my blog (also part of me was and still is immensely worried I somehow insult cn ppl by being as some sort of weeabo equivalent or that I am "appropriating culture" or idk I may be dumb but I try to do my research and I prommy it does not come from a place of malice or anything I genuinely love genshin and Li and it's got me interested in a culture/country I funnily enough have somehow interacted with and have friends in but never really paid that much attention to ig...) and then I just had the epiphany What if I just reverse engineer and name her Crystalfly in cn? Lore would be that either her name got accidentally translated in documents a long long time ago and ppl started calling ehr Crystalfly/Crys and she rolled with it or she simply adopted the translation/nickname as her name for international settings, keeping her true name more private (hidden in plain sight tbh) p sure the only ones who know are the elder adepti (Ganyu/Xiao included) and Neuvillette (once he told her his real/first name) (ironically Crys may be harder to pronounce i other languages lmaoooo rip Fontaine)

shiori was her universe's gwen, so i do think it'd be interesting to see chiyo interact with any version of her. they're different people, but i think chiyo would be wary bc gwen dies in certain universes and!! she's not in a position to handle that emotionally rn

chiyo struggles with her faith a lil bit in this verse -- she believes deities exists, but she struggles to believe that they really care about the mortals who worship them. she's respectful towards them and whatnot, but when she prays, it's like going through the motion rather than believing she's heard. i wanna explore this with a muse who is pretty devout, especially bc i'd eventually like to touch on the favor that eilistraee shows chiyo

chiyoko " i feel the weight of everyone depending on me " hisakawa vs muse who thinks she needs to stop worrying so much about others and think about her own self interest for a change

since she naturally ends up assuming the role of " tav " and thus the leader of sorts for the group, i'd love to explore the discomfort that actually brings. just because she can't stop herself from helping others in their time of need doesn't mean she's having a good time doing it asdf

so like, as a Pokémon lover, I’ve been getting the games since I was waaaaay little. My first game ever was sapphire, and I can personally rank moon as one of my top 5 games of all time. Pokémon’s story has always been a bit of a hit or miss with me *cough x and y cough sword and shield* but I was COMPLETELY unprepared for scarlet and violet. (For those wondering I got scarlet but I do not judge y’all violet stans)

like, that game took me so off guard. I was hyped (duh) but sword kinda left a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth story-wise. Like, all the pieces were there, you……just……forgot half of them and tried to pass it off as complete.

but scarlet? HOO BOYO SCARLET. Not only did they deliver one of, if not the greatest plots ever, I have never been more closer to any Pokemon characters.

Nemona? Easily one of the best and most well written rivals out there. She isn’t a stereotypical “I hate you and hope you suffer and will beat your sorry behind into the ground 😡”, type rival, but instead she’s just an ordinary girl who’s incredibly skilled at battling, but no longer can properly battle bc no one wants too. She purposely picks the weaker starter so you can get stronger quicker and be able to battle her! Her final fight had me grinning all the way through it, and her genuine, pure and utter JOY at you winning is such a sweet and endearing trait.

penny? Gosh darn did they do the introvert community justice. She is not only a great “serious and sarcastic” character, but the entire team star story was so so so wholesome. Her story about being bullied but also connecting with her friends and forming team star and also being the one to take it down once she realizes her mistake is incredible, and the way she defended team star until the end is just one of the millions of things I like about her! (AlsoherfinalbattlemusicSLAPS-)

I-I cannot even BEGIN to stress how incredible arven is. Pokémon dealing with abusive parents is nothing new, but yet it feels so RAW where he is involved. Like, dude, this guy was raised by a DOG. A FREAKING DOG WAS A BETTER PARENT THAN HIS OWN BIOLOGICAL PARENTS. His whole setup to be the snarky, silver-esque type rival was executed perfectly, and I promise you every person who’s ever played proceeded to do all of the titans the MOMENT mabosstiff came into the picture. (And I promise those same people cried when he finally stood up). And not only that, but from what the game implies, (or at least what I took from it) his parents didn’t actually care, and in all the limited contact he had with the sada/turo AI, they began to care for him as if they were his real parent. Meaning that an AI and a dog cared more for him than his mom and dad. Not even that, but he has to go through the trauma of learning his parents were freaking DEAD, he had a creature wearing his moms/dads face say IN THEIR VOICE,

“I love you.”

only to then immediately lose them too.

everyone just give a round of applause to this boi for being such a trooper and being so loveable despite everything.

but like, that’s barely anything. All the other characters were epic, the soundtrack was phenomenal, the plot twists expertly executed, like fr, this has been the best Pokémon game story-wise in AGES.

ok so first things first, i loooove gatwa's doctor so much already. if nothing else, i love the masterclass in acting he's putting on, his expressiveness is so impressive. he brings a very fun energy to the role

the church on ruby road has me feeling a bit mixed as well. the plot was kind of meh, and i didn't like how in the alternate universe ruby's mum was just so mean without her. it didn't make sense. like what makes ruby so special, hm 🤨 what's this one white blond baby got that all the other babies in the world don't 🤨 i know the point was to show how much ruby meant to her mum, but like. there are other ways to do it than have a complete 180 in characterization.

i'm honestly not super interested in the mystery of ruby's parentage (which apparently seems like it will be a huge thing unless they're just making stuff up to fake us out, in which case, good on them). but i don't want it to be some big reveal i'm sorry 😩 especially not because if it is, people will bend over backwards to say how great storytelling it is when they'd never say that if moffat did a plot like this. i hadn't even considered the possibility really, when i'd first watched it, i thought it's just not that deep, but maybe i'm wrong. the people who are theorizing that ruby is rose and tentoo's daughter are sooo funny though like

ur only saying that because she's blond and we all know nobody on this show can be blond without being related to The Blond(tm) 🙄

first things first !! easiest way tget over your fear of writin … is postin it. sounds kinda silly n counterproductive but !! s’really the only way ycan get used to it!! ycan try postin silly stuff on a burner f’you want!! but really.. most of the anxiety n fear comes from the initial post n before then!! it’s veryvery worth it afterwards, n you’ll be so confused s’to why ywere scared in the first place !! sometimes all yneed is some encouragement, f’theres anyone ywanna share your work with before postin i highly recommend doin that!! gets some nerves out n yget some good words about your writin to build confidence !!

most importantly.. s’jus for fun! ydont have to write this crazyyy detailed, descriptive, shakespearean type novel with big words n scriptures !! it’s all for fun! you’re not writin for anyone but yourself, yknow? if you like it, that’s enough!! speakin from experience.. tryin t’write somethin for other people never goes well. leads to a lot of burnout n confidence issues :c

instead of deletin what you’ve written, save it n make another fic with the same preface! i did that a lot in my nerd!eren series, n i found that the second time around always ‘felt’ better than the first ! it helps with collectin your thoughts n bein able to put ‘em into words! then if you like that better, try incorporatin it into what you wrote in the first draft ! f’you don’t wanna do that, sometimes y’find that first draft works a lot better for a whole different character or plot point ! c; hold onto everythin y’write !!

usually when mwritin for somethin (especially a request) there’s a scene that they inspire that pops right !! into m’head the second i read it. n i get super excited t’write that scene!! soooo!! m’start there!! right the scene you’re realreal excited for, then work around it. most of the time (at least for me) more n more ideas that would work well with it end up bein added!! that’s what gives a fic y’like personally !

Ranking the Xenoblade Games based on how straight they are

this is a mix of legitimate grievances about the writing and just goofing around. starting at least straight to most. Also not including X sorry I havent played it.

1. Xenoblade 2

Most of the romance in this game is light due to it being a sort of cute puppy love. Nothing actually happens between the characters and it’s mostly contained to the main characters with most side characters being free from clumsy straight love plots. There’s a couple of blushy scenes between Pyra/Mythra and Rex but most of their serious/emotional interactions are genuine and honest and don’t really get into romance or some hidden feelings they need to confess to. Even Nia’s confession is more of something for herself and she never really changes bc she’s in love or focuses on it that much. 

Beyond the main characters, sheba exists, jin and lora can be considered one sided at least romantically (she’s the one to make flirty comments in Torna and he always responds along the lines of ???) and he’s explicitly not motivated by her death, while it did obviously impact him it’s something he’d accepted and used as fuel for his ultimate goal. and of course there’s Malos, who’s own voice actor was like “cmon he was in love with Jin”. Morag and Brighid also exist. There’s even some old man furry yaoi implications with gramps and azurda in that one scene??? ngl its kind of cute. 

2. Xenoblade 3

Got a lot of points in the heteronormative category here. The main characters are paired up in m/f duos, but while 2/3 of them are romantically coded, Sena and Lanz aren’t really and Sena’s most focused relationship is probably Mio. To the game’s credit, it also doesn’t restrict them to these pairs and lets the whole group interact and have friendships and dynamics outside of the shippy ones. 

An emphasis is put on the true nature of humanity being to fall in love and have kids, but considering the context of the scene only certain parts of it really make me go “mmmmmm”. these characters are test tube babies who have never seen a real human baby and so it’s wholesome and understandable, but Monica’s wording about specifically couples later does lean towards heteronormative “everyone must grow up and have a kid.” Considering she canonically had a teenage pregnancy though and her baby daddy clearly isn’t around I expect she’s very shaped by that experience though. 

After that scene we don’t see a ton of heteronormative sentiment from city members (Ghondor, Shania, and Masha dont have any romantic sentiments, grey and rozana dont have kids and have a rather atypical but trusting relationship in general) and the focus on legacy and family is shown to have its toxic sides with Shania’s mom (who is also just. no 1 messed up lesbian in my heart).

Mio and Noah do start to have their characters focus more on romance and have their whole doomed soulmates shtick but I feel like they’re still given focus as individual characters in the main story post that revelation so I kind of forgive it, and the unhealthiest possible manifestation of their relationship is one of the main villains so. Also ngl they’re just cute, so I’m a bit biased here. I get if you’re groaning at the game pushing the main straight couple hard but at least they don’t suddenly lose all their personality when it happened. 

3. Xenoblade 1

Hoo boy. There’s just a lot of it in this game. Ngl it took me a while to properly get into Xenoblade bc while I liked the first game overall, it also just had some things that rubbed me the wrong way and 2′s general reputation didn’t make it seem much better (then I played it and fell in love and retroactively appreciate 1 more but yeah) and one of those things was how the game very quickly fridged the only female character as a love interest. Yaaaaay. 

Like yes she comes back later but at the time I was just kinda like. oh. ok then :/ and even when Fiora comes back, she’s super Shulk focused. Girl, you’ve been kidnapped and forcibly made into a cyborg and house a god who was walking around in your body but ig you’re mostly thinking about how your bf would feel. seriously when she’s fucking DYING her main concern is that Shulk doesn’t find out. like ok. Even her interactions with melia have that whole love triangle hanging over them as subtext. I greatly appreciate they didn’t got he jealousy angle and had Fiora genuinely want to reach out and be friends, but it does definitely feel like shulk is a matter constantly lingering whenever they talk.

And poor Sharla man. Seconds into meeting reyn she’s comparing him to her missing fiancé, despite still feeling he’s alive and wanting to find him. The game gives every hint that Gadolt may still be alive and rescuable, Meyneth even says smth like “I can feel this Homs still there” but not only does he die, he basically says “take care of her” to reyn like BOY you don’t know this man??? why would you say your last words to him and not your fiancé like ok. It felt like they wanted to make it “ok” for them to get together by killing him off and having him say that, even though everything until then had hinted with a hopeful tone that he could still be saved.

Ngl Melia’s unrequited love isn’t that bad but it does feel unnecessary considering how much she already suffers. Like you just really gotta rub it in huh. The fandom is wayyy worse about it than the game though, because canonically she moves on and is still surrounded by her friends and subjects and whatnot and doesn’t become some bitter scorned lover, but the fandom constantly jokes about it/acts like she is.

also some of the alt outfits, esp Sharla and Fiora’s are just...very obnoxious sexy fantasy armor. esp for flora when most of her body is supposed to be replaced with mechon parts but ig her tits were miraculously intact. They both deserve better writing ngl.

thoughts on the new BNHA chapter if you've seen it

Imma be so real, i haven't been all that invested in the recent chapters. I've kept up with them but I don't find them all that interesting to me personally. I'll share my thoughts, just fair warning i may have some unpopular opinions;

First of all Izuku losing is arms is crazy. That panel is brutal. I do think there's a possibility of it being reversed/healed/etc bc I don't see Hori committing much when it comes to maiming or killing off the students, so I think he'll be okay

I'm also 100% positive Shigaraki is not dead, won't be permanently possessed, and will be fine. He's basically the only safe villain that isn't going to be killed off and will be given a redemption no matter what.

Those two points are kinda why I find this fight boring. There isn't any real stakes imo because neither of them will die and they're just kinda doing the same "fight, talk, fight, talk" thing the whole time. I find it uninteresting.

I also have no idea why afo is here again. Didn't he reverse to a fetus? Why are you here? That being said, he's silly and dramatic and i kinda love his evil mastermind swag, he makes it a little more bearable between Tomura "woe is me" shigaraki and Izuku "I need to be Morally Right even if I'm killing myself to do it" Midoryia.

Afo being revealed to have a hand in literally all of Tomura's upbringing down to his birth is SUCH a dumb plot point imo. It takes away all of the responsibly factor from Tomura's villainy, shoots a HUGE hole in the "one bad day" theme with the rest of the villains since it wasnt his choice - something that makes every other villain relatable and complex, they all (Dabi, Toga, Twice, Spinner, etc) were dealt terrible hands and subjected to horrible upbringings too but they fell into these paths of villainy by their own choices, and let it shape them. It makes them all very deep while Tomura... Just kinda ruined that theme by making nothing his choice. It's lame and unnecessary, imo.

Speaking of the other villains and plotlines, I really wanna go back to them and I DO NOT WANT them to be pulled into the Shigaraki vs deku thing. None of them are in the place for that physically (they're all half dead), none of its necessary since Shigaraki *is* being saved and has been met with more sympathy from characters/narrative than the rest of the villains, and their character plotlines are still not finished. Toga's fight was rushed, the "acceptance" she received was forced, and we don't know if either of them are okay. Last we saw Dabi he was possibly dying while cursing the entire family and saying he wants to die, none of the todofam stuff is resolved at all and if it gets off screened for the main fight I'm gonna be upset because there's so many complex layers to everything there. Last we saw Spinner he collapsed on the ground somewhere, he may very well be dead. No villains arcs have been finished, properly handled, or wrapped up and it's unnecessary and stupid to have their stuff be tossed aside for "saving Tomura." THEY need to be saved. How about Shigaraki vs deku gets wrapped up and Shigaraki saves THEM. That would fit the narrative better then them being used for more Tomura man pain.

george ☕️ bc we (i) need some positivity!!! (genuinely starting to lose braincells)

I can't really write character study-like opinions about drivers like some of the people here can, so this will just be my feelings about Georgie.

Probably too fangirly but to be honest right now I don't give a fuck. Sorry if it's not positive enough, I've seen too many shit today for it not to affect me more than I want it to.

Sometimes I see people saying that George is so weird they want to study him under a microscope. I know that they say it in a positive way but for some reason reading post/reblogs with this line gives me bad feelings. I know this is stupid but yeah I wanted to write this down because I haven't told it to anyone yet. I feel like some people only see George as the weird, really british, posh-but-not-actually-posh guy who doesn't have a personality. They see him as someone who can't drive, someone who can't be a team player, someone who's selfish and someone who always cries on the radio etc.

I don't know why but for some reason the drivers who become my faves are usually the ones others love to hate. So my fandom presence is a bit painful most of the times because it's difficult to find posts that are positive about my faves. Especially when they achieve a better result than their teammate. But I don't want to talk about this because this post is not about fandom toxicity.

If I think about when was the time I've started to like George or what is my first memory of him, the one that comes to my mind is when Daniel and him arrived together in the paddock last year. I don't know which race it was but it meant a lot to me to see that Daniel has the support he needs. I didn't expect them to be as good of friends as they are. And when George wore Daniel's merch for the first time... Oh, God. That was such an important moment for me. And that wasn't the last time when we saw him wearing Daniel merch, which is still insane for me. ���

I think I've mentioned at least once that George is one of my top3 fave drivers and to be honest he's kind of a comfort person to me (as all of my faves). I really like looking at photos of him, thinking about which one to draw once I have time, watching videos of him, listening to him speaking (I really like his accent, it's so special to me – kind of a quilty pleasure). (Sometimes I feel strange because I see a lot of posts about people not liking British accents and British English. I can't really speak or write it I think, because on the internet I mostly see and learn American English but I still really like the British one too). — Also, this is the reason why I'm scared of writing stories about George. I have some plot ideas but I'm 100% sure I couldn't get his personality and accent right. So yeah, it's a bit painful for me but I try to watch a lot of videos and learn.

And now the post gets a bit personal, so if you don't want to read it, feel free to stop.

I'm not into men so I don't fantasize about dating any of the drivers but if I were into men, George would be the one I'd want to be with. He's not too introverted, not too extroverted, he seems to be a good boyfriend to Carmen. He's a nice guy.

And what I think about a lot when I'm feeling down is that he's the one is really want to hug. I don't want to meet with the drivers (yeah I'm not a real fan...) but still. There are some others I'd want to hug but George is the one I think about the most. He's huge compared to me, so it wouldn't be the most comfortable for him but yeah. (I think I'm about the height of Carmen. 😃)

Other people spend their free time fantasizing about dating the drivers and then here I am, doing the same but with hugging. Yeah, kinda strange, I know. Welcome here. 😃

I don't really know what else to say. I just really like George. I don't see him as a bad person. (I don't see any of the drivers as a bad person.) I want him to be happy, healthy and successful. I want to see him smile because he makes me happy with it. ❤

And I hope that he doesn't see all the online hate because he doesn't deserve it. People don't have to agree with everything he does but there are better ways to express opinions than to throw hate comments at the drivers, calling them shit, whishing their death and other disgusting things. No driver deserves these toxic comments, no matter where they're on the standings.

Also, I'm so proud of him for his result today. I know his finishing position is worse than his starting one but think he did a great job, considering what happened and how hard of a race it was physically. ❤

some thoughts about Chester/Jon, Norris/Martin and Augustus/Jonah

reasons why i think Chester, Norris and Augustus really are Jon, Martin and Jonah:

- Chester's statements: curiosity that consumes you, the magnus institute, doing something dangerous and scary because you get enjoyment from felling fear, voyeur as a film name (very subtle), all very very Jon-like

- Norris' statements: losing the person you love, the person you love is not themselves anymore, having to kill the person you love, loneliness, being left completely alone and starting to enjoy it, all very Martin-like (also mentions of jasmine, which you can make tea from. this is nothing but it amuses me)

- Augustus statements: willingly doing something at the cost of your and eventually other's wellbeing, thirst for power and doing whatever it takes to get it, the statement itself being written as a letter/will (granted these aren't the strongest connections to Jonah Magnus, but we've only heard Augustus once so I'm sure it'll be clearer when we hear more from him)

- Chester reading out the words 'a blast from the past'. i believe that Jon heard Sam saying this about the magnus institute and then chose to say it while he was in the room to attract his attention and get him to investigate further

- the voice actors are the same. this isn't really that strong of a connection, but given that Jonny and Alex are playing 'characters' whose names aren't official and could be revealed to be something/someone else is. very convenient

- we never heard Jonah Magnus' original voice, so i do believe that Augustus is him. I've seen ppl saying that Augustus is actually Leitner, but i don't think it is bcs i really don't see how he could serve the plot in any way. also his va isn't the same, and it could be true that they just decided to change it, but given that they literally decided to kill off sasha instead of tim bc her original va couldn't work with them longer, i highly doubt that's the case

- because i miss my boys and i said so

now that i convinced you that i am 100% correct and right about everything, here are my thoughts on what role they'll play in the overarching plot:

- first off, there's the question of wether or not Jon, Martin and Jonah are the ones spying on the OIAR and controlling the computers/cctv/speakers (all technology in the building basically)

- if they are, it means that them being freed is something that has to be an endgame thing, since there would be no in-universe explanation as to how we're still listening to the podcast if no one is spying on everyone. i don't think this will happen, because having characters from tma be the endgame for tmagp is kinda lame and doesn't let tmagp fully stand on its own

- there is the option of Jon being the big bad of the series/season??? which would be cool and also very tragic, seeing him finally loose the last shreds of humanity he has left, but again. having to consume a whole other piece of media in order to fully understand the first one is. very lame. i don't think they would ever do this

- the other option is them simply being trapped in whatever is actually controlling all the tech, which i think is actually the case. i think that this reality's version of the Web is the one in control (either of all the weird spying computers, or of the OIAR itself, much how the whole magnus institute was controlled by The Eye), and Jon, Martin and Jonah are trapped in it, which given how tma ended makes complete sense

- i think Jon and Martin are gonna get the Gerry Keay treatment. they're gonna show up somehow, help the characters out and explain the concept of fears to them, then they'll get killed or somehoew trapped again, or whatever other extremely tragic thing. they are way too op to become actual recurring characters of tmagp, not to mention that, again, this wouldn't really allow tmagp to stand on it's own as a story

- as for Jonah, i have absolutely no idea what his role could possibly be. i doubt he's going to be any kind of villain, but i also doubt he'd be helpful to any of the characters. this is the only thing that kinda makes me doubt that Augustus is Jonah, but i do still believe it's him, i just think it's too early to tell what his role may be

- the other alternative is that we never actually see Jon, Martin or Jonah. we get some sort of confirmation that it's them, most likely from a statement, but we never hear from them nor do the characters ever get to hear their story. honestly this would be the most tragic since Jon would become 'just another mystery' with the knowledge that he doomed another world, Martin would never get the chance to see Jon again and forever feel guilty for his death and Jonah would never get to reclaim his power or his immortality in any meaningful way

so yeah. anyway im very much invested in the mystery of tmagp and i can't wait for more info/clues
