Random Thought, please humor me.
SURPRISE: YUUSHA GAINS MAGIC (By absorbing the Magic around her & dealing with Overblots)! Even better, she doesn't need a Mage Stone to control it! What would Yuusha's Unique Magic be & how does she use it? How would Jamil react?
"Magic makes people feel too powerful. Too entitled."
"That is not what magic does. That's just your fear. Fear is what can't be trusted."
Tumblr media
HELPPP anon your random thought sent me down into a rabbit hole and i was hyperfixated on this for at least a WEEK 😭
THANK YOU FOR THE ASK BTW I REALLY APPRECIATE IT I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS 💕💕💕
anyways i also had an agonizing realization that yuusha is somewhat twisted elsa/anna because she has:
braid in front ✅
light-colored hair streak ✅
love interest that used her for his schemes ✅
desire to connect with people bc of years of loneliness (and emotional instability) ✅
unresolved childhood trauma in general ✅
(and probably more idk, these are the ones that stand out to me at the moment)
i haven't thought about frozen for YEARS and somehow it's still haunting me.
i have a lot of mixed feelings about this realization in general but the reason i brought this up is because i ended up basing yuusha's unique magic on frozen (not the ice powers part, but more the emotions aspect since elsa's powers work based on her emotions) while also still having aspects of yuu's own personality on it.
(also I'm sorry in advance i keep on dropping random lore about yuu and jamil's dynamic that only makes sense to myself hndsfhdsj)
Tumblr media
I'm your friend. You don't have to hide. SHOW YOURSELF.
Tumblr media
"Show Yourself" forces the target to say what's actually on their mind as long as she touches them. Since she's not particularly powerful and skilled with her own unique magic in the beginning, it's limited to skin-to-skin contact, and it only lasts for as long as she's touching her target.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Yuu trained it more, it doesn't have to be skin-to-skin, just as long as she makes some kind of physical contact with her target; and it could last for as long as she wants even if she is no longer making physical contact. (But the longer she keeps it up, the more blot accumulates.) Yuusha would mostly just use her unique magic to mess with people. It'll only be rare that she chooses to use it for something serious.
To add more onto how Jamil would react to these magic shenanigans: They've both agreed on not using their unique magic on each other. To do so would be a breach of trust. (Of course there would be special exceptions but generally that's their agreement.) And since Jamil is still a scheming prick (affectionate), her "Show Yourself" unique magic would be useful. Plus, Yuu would not be against using her unique magic 99% of the time since she is also aware of the usefulness of her ability. Jamil would insist on helping Yuu out on how to use her magic because there was no way she'd get the hang of it immediately. And he knows she would refuse to ask any other (capable) magician for help.
An alternate idea that I scrapped was "Let It Go" where it's essentially Yuu telling her target to let go of their (usually negative) emotions. But those feelings can't just disappear so Yuu basically absorbs them so now it's her burden to carry instead. I scrapped it because I can't settle on how it works. (But it still had angst potential so I couldn't help but draw a bit about it anyway.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(extra rambling below about yuusha overblot thoughts if anyone's interested hdlfhjgj)
Tumblr media
this is a brief tangent from the original question because i also thought, "hey what if she overblotted, wouldn't that be fun"
i could see the overblot going in either two ways:
yuu accidentally hurts grim (or another friend) with her magic. she’s so distraught thinking that even with magic she can't protect those who are dear to her. and so during the overblot she will not actively try to hurt anyone but instead exhausting her magic reserves in an intentional attempt at self-destruction. (yes i also see the frozen parallels shhhh)
OR
something happens that was simply THE LAST STRAW. now she’s too pissed at everyone that she no longer cares about what happens to her or anyone else, going on a destructive rampage. which can also be considered an intentional attempt at self-destruction.
either way, basically, if she can’t go home she’s just going to take herself out and/or the school instead. the girl is not okay.
(there's actually nothing good she can home to, but she's convinced she'll be happy again if she returns. but she doesn't know that because she can't remember shit about her home. that's a separate lore dump post hgdsjfkld)
also the blot monster behind her would look something like marshmallow (elsa's snow monster from frozen) :)
Tumblr media
(i also used to have a similar idea for yuusha. i planned to have her be immune to magic *because* she was absorbing it and she didn't realize. leading to an inevitable overblot) (but i scrapped it because yuusha became my victim for jamil x yuu stuff) (like if i can't have the excuse to have jamil use snake whisper on yuu then what is the point)

The night at the market store was quiet, just Y/N, the guard, and Hwan, her colleague, were present. They often chatted to pass time during these slow hours.
As Y/N was sharing a comical story from her day, a customer walked in. She and the guard greeted him warmly. The customer, a handsome guy with blonde hair and an Australian accent, smiled back, his gaze lingering on Y/N.
Hwan, noticing the interaction, came over with a smirk. "Hey, did you see that? He's definitely cute. And that look he gave you, Y/N!"
Y/N blushed, trying to play it cool. "Oh, it's nothing, Hwan. Just being polite, I guess."
Hwan nudged her, "Polite? Nah, that was more than just polite. Trust me, I know these things."
As Felix approached the counter, Y/N felt her heart race. Hwan, seizing the moment, asked, "Hey man, what's your name?"
Laughing, Felix replied, "I'm Felix. Nice place you've got here. And you are?"
"I'm Hwan, and this is Y/N, the star cashier." Hwan beamed.
"Y/N, that's a really nice name. Suits you." Felix said as he smiled at Y/N.
Y/N's heart flustered at the compliment, "Thank you, Felix. Did you find everything okay?" managed to respond.
"Yeah, thanks to the great ambiance here. You guys seem like a fun team."
As Y/N scanned his items, Hwan chimed in, "We try our best. Keeps the night shifts interesting, right, Y/N?"
Felix paid, his eyes still on Y/N. "Thanks, Y/N. Maybe I'll drop by again during your shift."
After he left, Y/N sighed, trying to calm her fluttering heart. Hwan and the guard couldn't help but tease her. "Looks like someone's got an admirer," Hwan said, winking.
Y/N tried to dismiss it, but she couldn't help feeling excited at the prospect of seeing Felix again. Felix's visits to the market store during Y/N's night shifts had become a regular occurrence. Their conversations were always a highlight of her evenings.
On one particularly quiet night, Felix stayed longer than usual, engaging in conversation with Y/N, Hwan, and the guard. They talked about everything from funny personal stories to random trivia, creating a lively atmosphere in the usually quiet store.
"So, Felix," Hwan started, "what brings you to our humble store so late at night? You seem to have become quite the regular."
"Well, it's not just the midnight snacks that draw me here. It's the company, of course." Felix grinned.
Y/N blushed slightly, trying to focus on organizing the counter. The guard chimed in, "We're glad you enjoy our little night crew. Makes the time pass quicker, doesn't it?"
As they were all laughing at a joke the guard had just made, a new customer walked in, interrupting the moment. Felix glanced at the door, then back at Y/N. "Looks like I should get going. Duty calls, right?"
"Yeah, it does get a bit busier around now," Y/N replied, feeling a tinge of regret.
Felix headed out, and Y/N noticed his wallet left behind on the counter. "Oh no, he forgot his wallet," she said, picking it up.
The guard urged, "You should catch him before he gets too far. We've got things covered here."
Y/N hurried outside, calling after Felix, who was already some distance away. "Felix!" He didn't stop, so she called louder, "Felix!"
Hearing her, Felix turned around with a puzzled look. "Y/N? What's up?"
Out of breath, Y/N held out his wallet. "You forgot this."
"Ah, my wallet. I'd forget my own head if it wasn't attached. Thanks for bringing it out to me." Felix laughed, a bit embarrassed.
As he reached to take it, their hands touched briefly. Y/N felt a strange sensation, a mix of excitement and a weird unease. Felix's eyes were intense, holding hers a little too long, making her heart flutter.
He finally stepped back, breaking the gaze. "I really appreciate it, Y/N. You're always looking out for me, huh?"
Y/N, still trying to catch her breath, managed a smile. "Well, can't have you walking around without your wallet."
Felix nodded, "True. Well, I should let you get back. Thanks again, Y/N."
As he walked away, Y/N stood there for a moment, feeling a chill despite the night's warmth. Felix's presence had left an unsettling yet intriguing impression on her.
Unseen by Y/N, Felix paused further down the street, turning to watch her return to the store. His expression was no longer just friendly; there was a depth of something else, something unreadable, as he watched her disappear into the store.
The shift in schedule due to a colleague's accident led Y/N to work mornings, leaving her usual evening slot to a new staff member. This change was felt by Hwan and the guard, who missed Y/N's presence during the night shifts. They often talked about their hospitalized colleague, hoping for a quick recovery.
On one of these evenings, Felix entered the store, his usual smile ready. However, it quickly faded when he didn't spot Y/N at her usual post. Instead, a new face manned the till. Hwan, noticing Felix's disappointment, approached him.
"Hey, Felix! You look a bit lost. Missing Y/N, are you?" Hwan asked, a teasing note in his voice.
Felix, trying to hide his surprise, responded, "Yeah, where's Y/N? Not her shift today?"
Hwan explained the situation, "Y/N's covering morning shifts for a while. One of our colleagues had an accident. She's always there to help out, you know?"
Felix's expression softened, "That's really kind of her. She's always thinking of others."
Hwan nodded, "True, but I worry about her sometimes. She needs to remember to take care of herself too."
Felix, with a hint of concern, asked, "So, when is she coming back to evenings?"
Hwan, sensing Felix's interest, replied with a grin, "Ah, missing her that much, huh? She should be back next week. But hey, I'm here too, you know. I can be quite the entertainer."
Felix chuckled at Hwan's playful flirtation. "I have no doubt about that. You guys make a great team. I'll still come by, just was curious about Y/N."
As Felix wandered around the store, he occasionally glanced at the new cashier. She tried to engage him with a confident and playful demeanor, even boldly asking for his number. Felix, though polite, seemed only half-engaged in the conversation.
Finally, at the till, the new cashier tried to strike up a conversation. "So, you're a regular here, right? I'm Jenna, by the way."
"Yeah, I come by often. Nice to meet you, Jenna." Felix replied politely.
"You seem to know Hwan pretty well. He's quite a character, isn't he?" Jenna smiled.
"Yeah, he definitely keeps things interesting around here." Felix laughed.
As he paid, Jenna leaned in, "If you're ever here in the mornings, let me know. I can make a great coffee."
"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," Felix said, offering a friendly but non-committal smile. His thoughts, however, seemed to linger on Y/N, not the conversation at hand.
Felix, a night owl by nature, found himself venturing out during the day, driven by the desire to see Y/N. He preferred the quiet of the night, but today was different. Arriving at the market shop, he was greeted by the bustling activity of daytime business. Spotting Y/N away from the cash register and busy with shelf stocking presented him with the perfect opportunity.
Approaching her with a playful smile, Felix spoke softly to avoid startling her. "Hey, need a hand with anything?"
Y/N turned, her eyes widening in surprise at seeing Felix in daylight. "Felix? What are you doing here at this hour?"
"Surprised to see me?" he asked with a grin.
"Yeah, I am. How did you know I was working mornings now?" Y/N questioned, a mixture of curiosity and happiness in her tone.
Felix explained, "I dropped by last night and didn't see you. Hwan told me about your shift change. I was actually hoping to ask you something yesterday, but you weren't there."
Y/N straightened up, "Oh? What did you want to ask?"
Felix hesitated briefly before asking, "When's your day off? I was thinking, maybe we could grab a coffee? I've really enjoyed our talks during your evening shifts, and I'd like to get to know you better."
Y/N's heart fluttered. "Um, I'm off on Sundays and Wednesdays."
"How about coffee this Sunday, then?" Felix suggested, his tone hopeful.
Y/N agreed, perhaps a bit too quickly, eliciting a chuckle from Felix. They exchanged numbers, and he promised to text her the details for Sunday.
Not wanting to keep her from work during the busy day, Felix picked up a few items and headed to the checkout. Meanwhile, another colleague of Y/N's, who had observed their interaction from afar, approached her.
"Who's that guy?" the colleague asked with a curious look.
"That's Felix. I met him during one of the evening shifts. He's been coming by almost every night since," Y/N explained.
Her colleague's expression shifted to a mix of intrigue and concern. "Doesn't that seem a bit... creepy to you?"
Y/N hadn't considered it that way. "I don't know, he's always been nice."
"Just be careful, okay? The way he just showed up, especially after finding out from Hwan when you'd be here... it gives off stalker vibes," her colleague cautioned, a hint of worry in her voice.
Those words caused a twinge of unease in Y/N's heart, but she hoped her colleague's concerns were unfounded. Felix had always seemed kind and genuine, yet now she couldn't shake off a slight sense of doubt. Sunday arrived, and Y/N felt a mix of excitement and nervousness about meeting Felix outside the familiar confines of the market. She recalled her colleague's warning about potential stalker vibes, but she pushed those thoughts aside, choosing to focus on looking her best for the meetup.
Upon arriving at the cafe, Y/N spotted Felix already there, seated at a corner table. His eyes brightened as she walked in, his smile wide and welcoming.
"Hey, Y/N! You look amazing," Felix greeted her as she approached.
"Thanks, Felix. It's nice to see you outside the store," Y/N replied, feeling a flutter of excitement.
They settled in, ordering their drinks before delving into a deep conversation. Felix's gaze remained fixed on Y/N, showing his genuine interest. "I've always wondered what you liked to do outside of work," he said, leaning in.
Y/N shared her hobbies and passions, noticing how Felix's eyes seemed to sparkle with every word. "What about you, Felix? What do you enjoy doing when you're not at our store?" she asked, smiling.
Felix shared his interests, watching Y/N's reactions closely. "I love exploring the city at night, the quietness... it's peaceful. But being with you now, this is nice too."
As the evening approached, they decided to take a walk around Seoul. The city's vibrant energy surrounded them, creating a comfortable backdrop for their continued conversation.
When it was time to part ways, Felix hesitated. "Can I walk you home? It's getting late, and I'd feel better knowing you're safe."
Y/N, recalling her colleague's words, felt a twinge of uncertainty. "I appreciate it, Felix, but I'm fine. My place isn't far. But let's definitely meet up again soon."
Felix's expression briefly faltered, but he quickly recovered. "Of course, Y/N. I'd like that."
They said their goodbyes, and Y/N walked home, unaware of Felix quietly following at a distance. His intentions seemed protective, yet there was an underlying intensity to his actions.
Reaching her apartment, Y/N entered, unaware of Felix's watchful eyes. He lingered outside, ensuring she was safe before finally walking away, his thoughts a mix of affection and an unsettling possessiveness. The following week, Y/N continued with the morning shifts, as her colleague was still recuperating. While she hoped for her colleague's swift return to work, this schedule change meant more opportunities to see Felix.
One day, after finishing her shift, Y/N was surprised to find Felix waiting for her outside the store, holding a small bouquet of flowers. Her colleagues, witnessing the scene, couldn't help but express their delight with a chorus of 'awws,' curious about the charming gentleman.
"Wow, Felix, this is... unexpected," Y/N said, her heart skipping a beat as she accepted the flowers.
"I thought it might brighten your day," Felix replied with a smile.
As days passed, Y/N eventually returned to her usual evening shifts. Hwan and the night guard greeted her with cheers, happy to have their friend back. Felix, true to his routine, resumed his evening visits to the store.
The familiarity of the evening routine felt comforting to Y/N, but there was an undercurrent of something different now. The interactions with Felix had grown more personal, and while part of her was thrilled, another part couldn't shake off a subtle sense of unease.
During one of these shifts, Felix visited the store. He seemed more intense than usual, his gaze lingering on Y/N a bit longer, his conversations deeper and more probing.
"Y/N, have you ever thought about what it'd be like to just... leave everything behind? To start fresh somewhere new?" Felix asked her one evening, a distant look in his eyes.
Y/N, taken aback by the sudden depth of the conversation, replied cautiously, "I guess I've thought about it, but I have responsibilities here. Why do you ask?"
Felix's expression darkened slightly. "Sometimes I feel like the world is too much. Too loud, too crowded. I find peace in the quiet moments, especially with you. You bring a sense of calm I don't find anywhere else."
Y/N didn't know how to respond. The intensity in Felix's words was both flattering and a little frightening. She tried to steer the conversation to lighter topics, but the night ended with Felix's words echoing in her mind.
Walking home that night, Y/N felt a prickling sensation on the back of her neck, as if she was being watched. She quickened her pace, hoping it was just her imagination running wild after the strange conversation with Felix.
Reaching home, she locked her door and peered out her window, half expecting to see someone there. The street was empty, but the feeling of unease lingered, leaving her to wonder about the true nature of Felix's intentions. During their next coffee date, Y/N and Felix found themselves more connected than ever. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter and shared stories, drawing them physically closer. As their hands entwined and shoulders brushed, the air around them seemed charged with unspoken feelings.
Felix, looking deeply into Y/N's eyes, broke the silence with a confession. "Y/N, these moments with you, they mean a lot to me. I've come to really like you."
Y/N, feeling her heart flutter, couldn't help but respond in kind. "Felix, I feel the same. There's something special about what we have."
Their eyes locked, and Felix's gaze lingered on her lips. Y/N, blushing slightly, leaned in, and they shared a gentle, yet profound kiss.
"I really like you... a lot," Felix whispered softly, giving her another tender kiss.
As they prepared to leave, Y/N, emboldened by the moment, invited Felix over to her apartment. He smiled warmly, "I'd love to come over. It'll be nice spending more time with you."
At her cozy apartment, they settled into an evening of more conversation and a movie. As the film played, Y/N's eyelids grew heavy, and she eventually fell asleep on Felix's shoulder.
Felix gazed down at her, a small smirk on his face. "You're so peaceful when you sleep," he whispered to himself, appreciating her serene expression.
As the movie ended, Felix gently shook Y/N awake. "Hey, it's late. I should get going."
Y/N, groggily waking up, felt a tinge of disappointment. "Oh, already? Thanks for staying. I had a great time."
"Me too," Felix replied, standing up. "I'll see you soon, Y/N."
After he left, Y/N locked her door and sat in the quiet of her apartment, the evening's events replaying in her mind. It was another evening shift at the market store, and Hwan was brimming with curiosity about Y/N's budding relationship with Felix. The guard, too, was eager to hear more, so Y/N shared details of their recent dates.
Hwan's excitement was palpable. "Oh my gosh, tell me everything! How romantic is it on a scale from one to ten?" he asked, clapping his hands together like a giddy schoolgirl.
Y/N laughed, sharing some of the sweet moments they had shared. "It's been really nice. Felix is thoughtful, and we've had some great times together."
As the night progressed, Y/N noticed Felix didn't make his usual visit. She tried not to think much of it, assuming he might not have needed anything that evening. Still, his absence made the shift feel slower.
After closing up the shop, Y/N began her walk home. Normally, the walk was a peaceful end to her night, but tonight felt different. She had an eerie sensation of being followed. At one point, she even heard footsteps behind her.
Increasing her pace, Y/N glanced back and saw a shadowy figure at a distance, seemingly following her. Her walk turned into a run, heart pounding. As she rounded a corner, she collided with someone, letting out a startled yelp.
Strong hands grasped her arms, and she looked up to see Felix, concern etched on his face. "Y/N, it's me, Felix. Are you okay? What happened?"
Relieved yet still shaken, Y/N stammered, "I-I thought someone was following me. I heard footsteps..."
Felix's brow furrowed with worry. "Why were you walking alone at this hour? It's not safe."
Glancing back, Y/N saw no one. She looked at Felix, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. "Felix, what are you doing out here?"
"Just taking a stroll," he replied, his tone casual. Noticing her shivers, he took off his jacket and gently draped it over her shoulders. "Let me walk you home. You shouldn't be alone."
As they walked, Felix kept a protective arm around her, occasionally looking back to ensure no one was following them. Y/N, though comforted by his presence, couldn't shake off a lingering sense of unease, wondering about the odd coincidence of his timely appearance. Y/N decided to invite Felix over for dinner a few days after their unsettling encounter. She wanted to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, cooking a meal for them in her apartment. As she busied herself in the kitchen, Felix arrived, still carrying a hint of concern from their previous meeting.
"Hey, are you sure you're okay after the other night?" Felix asked as he entered, his eyes searching hers for any sign of lingering distress.
"Yeah, I'm okay, just a little shaken still. It was weird, you know?" Y/N replied, focusing on chopping vegetables. "But I'm curious, Felix. Why were you out for a stroll that late? It seemed... out of the ordinary."
Felix chuckled softly, understanding her unease. "I know it must've seemed strange. I didn't visit the store that night, and it felt odd not being there. I just needed to stretch my legs, get some fresh air. I'm sorry if it scared you. The timing was certainly unusual."
As they talked, Felix admired her cooking skills. The kitchen was small, and the aroma of the food was enticing. He moved closer to her, and in a smooth, casual gesture, wrapped his arms around her from behind as she continued to cut vegetables.
"Do you need any help with anything?" Felix asked, his voice close to her ear.
Y/N leaned back slightly into his embrace, feeling a shiver run through her from his touch. "No, it's okay. You're the guest tonight. Just relax and enjoy," she said, a hint of warmth in her voice.
The dinner Y/N prepared was a hit. Felix complimented her culinary skills, genuinely impressed. "This is amazing, Y/N. You're a fantastic cook," he said, savoring each bite.
After they finished eating, Felix insisted on helping with the cleanup. "It's only fair since you cooked such a wonderful meal," he said, taking the dishes to the sink.
Once the kitchen was tidy, they decided to play some card and board games, laughing and enjoying each other's company. As the evening wore on, they settled down to watch movies, cuddling under a blanket on the couch. Y/N found comfort resting atop Felix, and soon, they both drifted off to sleep.
In the early morning light, Felix awoke to find Y/N still asleep on top of him. Gently, he shifted her aside, careful not to wake her. Standing up, he looked down at her peaceful face, a complex mix of emotions crossing his own.
"Sleep well, Y/N," he whispered to himself. He felt an urge to have something of hers, a memento to keep her close even when they were apart.
As he quietly moved around her apartment, Felix's eyes scanned for something small, something she wouldn't immediately miss. His movements were silent, almost ghostly. He found a small hairpin on her dresser, its design simple and elegant. He picked it up, turning it over in his hands.
"Just a little something to remember this night," he murmured.
Continuing his subtle search, Felix found a book she was currently reading. He carefully slipped a bookmark inside - one that he had with him, a silent exchange of possessions. "Now there's a part of me with you, too," he said softly.
With each item Felix took, his expression grew more introspective. He wasn't just collecting objects; he was weaving a deeper connection with Y/N in his mind, a connection he believed was protective and necessary.
Finally, he found a scarf, lightly perfumed with her scent. He held it close, inhaling deeply. "I'll keep you safe, Y/N, from anything that might harm you," he spoke to the scarf as if it were Y/N herself.
As Y/N slowly came to consciousness, she noticed Felix sitting by the window, lost in his thoughts. The soft morning light cast a serene glow over the room, a stark contrast to the complexity of emotions playing across Felix's face.
Rubbing her eyes, Y/N sat up, causing Felix to turn his attention away from the window. He quickly masked his contemplative expression with a more cheerful demeanor. "Good morning, Y/N," he greeted her warmly.
Y/N stretched and smiled, though still groggy. "Morning, Felix. Sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep on you last night."
Felix shook his head, "Don't worry about it. I fell asleep too. It was nice, actually."
Y/N got up, moving around the room, still unaware of the items Felix had subtly taken. As she busied herself, Felix watched her, his gaze soft yet tinged with a possessive intensity.
"I should probably head back," Felix announced, standing up. "Didn't want to just leave while you were asleep."
Y/N, turning to face him, felt a hint of disappointment. "Oh, are you sure you have to go? We could grab breakfast or something."
Felix hesitated for a moment, then replied, "I'd love to stay, but I have a few things to take care of today. Rain check on breakfast?"
Y/N nodded, understanding. "Sure, another time then."
As Felix prepared to leave, Y/N walked him to the door. "Thanks for coming over, Felix. Last night was really fun."
Felix turned to her, his expression softening. "I had a great time too, Y/N. We should do this again soon."
They said their goodbyes, and Felix left. Y/N closed the door behind him, feeling a mix of happiness from the night before and a vague sense of unease she couldn't quite place.
Once outside, Felix paused, looking at the items he had taken from her apartment. He held the scarf close, feeling a sense of duty to protect Y/N, even from shadows and dangers only he seemed to perceive. His thoughts were a blend of affection and an overprotective urge, a dangerous combination that blurred the lines between care and control.
.
As Felix and Y/N's relationship progressed, Felix found himself increasingly fixated on her. He cherished their shared moments and kisses but craved more. One day, while out shopping for clothes, he unexpectedly saw Y/N laughing and talking with her friends.
From his hidden vantage point, Felix couldn't help but smile at Y/N's carefree demeanor. "She's so different when she's with her friends," he thought to himself, his gaze following her every move. "So full of life and laughter."
Meanwhile, Y/N, completely oblivious to Felix's watchful eyes, was engrossed in the lively banter with her friends. Her laughter was infectious, and her energy radiated happiness, drawing in those around her.
After a while, Felix left the scene, his mind replaying the moments he had witnessed. He felt a strange satisfaction in having seen this other side of Y/N, yet it also fueled his desire to be a bigger part of her life.
Felix had developed a habit of subtly taking small items from Y/N's apartment during their dates – things that carried her scent but wouldn't be immediately missed. It was his way of keeping a part of her with him.
A few days later, Felix visited the market store during Y/N's shift. As he was browsing, a rowdy group of men entered, their loud banter filling the store. The guard immediately became alert, sensing potential trouble.
The men's eyes soon fell on Y/N. They began to make crude comments about her, loud enough for Felix and others nearby to hear.
"Check out the cashier. She's pretty hot," one of the men remarked to his friends, his voice dripping with lewd intent.
"Yeah, way too good for a place like this. Bet she's got some fire in her," another added, chuckling.
Y/N, feeling their eyes on her, tried to ignore the comments and focus on her work. The men's behavior was making her increasingly uncomfortable.
Hwan, sensing the situation escalating, moved closer to Y/N. "These guys are bad news," he whispered to the guard, both of them keeping a watchful eye on the group.
As the men approached the counter with their items, one of them leaned in, smirking at Y/N. "Hey, sweetheart, why are you working in a dump like this? Someone as pretty as you should be treated better."
Y/N responded with forced politeness, trying to remain professional. "I'm just doing my job, sir. Can I help you with anything else?"
Felix, unable to stand idly by, stepped forward with his items. He cleared his throat loudly, drawing the men's attention away from Y/N. His expression was stern, a silent warning.
The leader of the group, catching the protective vibe from Felix, gave a sarcastic apology for holding up the line and shot Y/N one last inappropriate glance before leaving with his friends, their crude remarks still audible as they exited.
Felix turned to Y/N, a mix of concern and frustration in his eyes. "Are you alright, Y/N? That was completely out of line."
Y/N nodded, trying to shake off the unease. "I'm okay, thanks, Felix. It's not uncommon, but it's never pleasant."
Felix's brow furrowed, his protective instinct clear. "No one should have to put up with that. I wish I could be here all the time to prevent it."
The night at the market store continued, with Felix staying a bit longer than usual. As closing time approached, Hwan offered Y/N a ride home, concerned for her safety after the unsettling encounter with the group of men. However, Y/N reassured him that she would be fine, her apartment being just a short walk away.
Hwan, still hesitant, told her, "Please, Y/N, call me immediately if anything feels off, okay?"
Y/N nodded, "I will, Hwan. Thanks."
Walking home alone, Y/N was extra alert, her mind replaying the earlier incident. As she made her way through the dimly lit streets, she noticed the same group of men from the store lingering nearby. They spotted her and began whistling and calling out to her.
"Hey, there she is! The pretty cashier!" one of them yelled, their tone menacing.
Y/N quickened her pace, trying to ignore them, but before she could turn the corner, one of the men grabbed her arm. She let out a sharp scream, which was quickly muffled as another man covered her mouth, dragging her towards a dark alleyway.
Her struggles were in vain against their strength. Panic surged through her as she tried to free herself.
Meanwhile, Felix, who was still nearby, heard Y/N's scream. He paused, then ran towards the source of the sound. Arriving at the alley, he saw the men trying to overpower Y/N. Rage filled him, his eyes darkening with fury.
Felix made his presence known, causing the men to pause and turn towards him. One of them smirked and taunted, "Better walk away, buddy, unless you want to get hurt."
Underestimating Felix, one of the men charged at him, only to be knocked out cold with a single punch. The second attacker lunged, but Felix grabbed him and slammed his face into the brick wall. The leader and another accomplice then attacked, but Felix swiftly incapacitated them both, leaving them unconscious on the ground.
But Felix wasn't finished. He stood over the leader, his foot pressing down on the man's neck. The leader gasped for air, pleading for his life.
"You don't deserve to breathe," Felix growled, his voice cold and devoid of mercy. "After what you were going to do to her... to Y/N..."
Y/N, terrified by the scene unfolding before her, called out weakly, "Felix, stop! Please, don't do this!"
Felix turned to look at her, his expression softening slightly. He slowly removed his foot from the man's neck, leaving him gasping on the ground. "Next time, I won't hesitate," he warned the man, his voice low and threatening. "Get your life together, and stay away from her."
Approaching Y/N cautiously, Felix said softly, "It's okay, Y/N. I won't hurt you. I'm here to protect you."
Y/N, still in shock, hesitated before slowly clinging to Felix. He gently helped her up, covering her eyes so she wouldn't see the aftermath of his actions.
"Let's get you home," Felix whispered, guiding her away from the alley and back to the safety of her apartment.
Upon reaching Y/N's apartment, the tension and fear from the night's events still clung to her. She held onto Felix tightly, seeking comfort in his presence. "Can you stay tonight?" she asked in a trembling voice as they walked inside.
Felix nodded, his expression serious but gentle. "Of course, I'm here for you," he assured her.
As they entered the apartment and removed their shoes, the proximity and the intensity of the evening seemed to draw them even closer. Y/N, still shaken and now driven by a mix of fear and gratitude, reached for Felix. With unsteady hands, she pulled him down into a deep, fervent kiss.
Felix responded with surprise but quickly reciprocated, his arms encircling her waist, pulling her closer. The kiss deepened, fueled by a blend of need and desire.
"Felix..." Y/N murmured between kisses, her hands moving to lift his hoodie and t-shirt.
He reciprocated, lifting her top off with equal urgency. Their clothing fell away, forgotten as they became lost in each other.
As Felix held her, the sensation of their skin touching was overwhelming. "Y/N, I... I want you," he confessed, his voice low and filled with longing.
Y/N, responding with her own need, whispered back, "I want you too, Felix. Please."
Lifting her in his arms, Felix carefully ascended the steps to her loft bed. Once there, he gently laid her down, his lips finding her neck. Y/N called out his name, her hips rolling against his in a rhythm of desperation and desire.
"Felix... Felix..." she moaned, her voice a mix of pleasure and need.
Hearing his name from her lips sent waves of desire through Felix. "Y/N, you're everything," he breathed, his voice deep and resonant.
The night unfolded in a blur of passion and intensity. Their moans and whispered names filled the room, a testament to their fervent connection. Eventually, exhaustion overtook them, and they fell asleep in each other's arms, the bed covers and their shared warmth the only things holding back the chill of the night. In the early morning quiet, Felix and Y/N lay entwined in her bed, a temporary calm enveloping them. Felix held Y/N close, feeling a sense of protectiveness and possession that had intensified since the previous night's events. The scent of her hair and the softness of her skin under his fingers sent shivers down his spine.
He gazed down at her, marveling at her peaceful, innocent appearance. "I could keep you safe forever," he thought, his mind teetering on the edge of a dark and possessive desire.
Leaning in, Felix gently kissed the top of her head, inhaling the scent of her shampoo. His fingers continued their delicate caress along her back, a contrast to the violence of the night before.
Y/N slowly stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open to meet Felix's gaze. His serious expression quickly softened into a smile. "Good morning," he murmured softly.
"Morning," Y/N replied, her voice still heavy with sleep. She looked up at him, his presence bringing a sense of safety.
"How are you feeling after last night?" Felix's voice was low, laced with concern.
The memory of the attack flashed through Y/N's mind, a flicker of fear crossing her face. Then she remembered Felix's actions, how he had stood over one of the men, his foot pressed against the man's neck. "I'm... better now that you're here. But, Felix, what would you have done to those guys... if I hadn't stopped you?" she asked, her voice hesitant.
Felix's smile faltered slightly. He chose his words carefully, aware of the gravity of her question. "I only wanted to scare them, to make sure they wouldn't hurt you. I wouldn't have gone further," he assured her, though his eyes betrayed a flicker of something more intense.
Y/N nodded, wanting to believe him. She leaned in for a kiss, seeking comfort in his embrace. Felix responded, his kiss reassuring yet tinged with an underlying intensity.
As they lay together, Felix spoke softly, his words filled with a dark promise. "I'll always protect you, Y/N. No one will ever hurt you as long as I'm around."
Y/N felt a mixture of comfort and unease at his words. "I know you will, Felix. But promise me, no more violence."
Felix nodded, though his expression remained unreadable. "I promise, as long as you're safe."
Y/N was eager for Felix to meet her friends, believing it was an important step in their relationship. Despite Felix's nervousness, they went to the mall to meet up with her group of friends.
As they arrived, Bangchan, who had always been like a brother to Y/N, was the first to greet them. He extended a warm welcome to Felix.
"You must be Felix. Y/N has told us so much about you," Chan said, shaking Felix's hand.
Felix, trying to mask his nervousness with a polite smile, replied, "Yes, that's me. It's great to meet all of you."
Bangchan, picking up on Felix's Australian accent, added, "Hey, I'm from Australia too! Whereabouts are you from?"
"Sydney," Felix responded, a bit more relaxed. "It's good to meet a fellow Aussie."
Yeonjun, Chanbin, and Wooyoung, Y/N's school friends, introduced themselves next, each expressing their gratitude for how Felix had been there for Y/N. Jeongin, Mina, Sana, and Emily followed suit, making Felix feel gradually more welcome.
As they wandered around the mall, chatting and laughing, a TV in the public area caught their attention. The news was on, and a breaking story flashed across the screen.
"Breaking News: Men Found Dead in Apparent Group Suicide," the headline read.
The group fell silent, their attention drawn to the screen. The reporter detailed how the men, involved in a recent assault, were found dead in what appeared to be a case of group suicide.
Y/N gasped, recognizing the men as the same group that had harassed her. "Those are the men from the other night," she whispered, a mix of shock and fear in her voice.
Felix stiffened, his expression darkening as he watched the report. Bangchan looked at him, sensing the change in his demeanor. "You okay, mate? This must be shocking for Y/N, given what happened."
Felix's voice was low, almost a growl. "They got what they deserved," he said, barely audible.
Y/N turned to Felix, her eyes wide. "Felix, you don't think that... they deserved to die, do you?"
Felix quickly masked his dark expression with a more neutral one. "No, of course not. It's just... shocking, that's all."
The group tried to resume their previous cheerfulness, but the news had cast a shadow over the day. Felix, meanwhile, harbored a secret. He had orchestrated the demise of those men, making it appear as a group suicide executed by another gang. His primary goal was to ensure they could never harm Y/N or anyone else again. This dark deed, known only to him, was driven by a twisted sense of justice and an obsessive desire to protect Y/N at all costs.
As they walked through the mall, Felix could sense Y/N's discomfort. He wrapped an arm around her, trying to offer some comfort. "Are you alright, Y/N? You seem a bit off," he asked, his tone laced with concern.
Y/N forced a smile, not wanting to voice her growing fears about Felix. "It's just the news... it's quite shocking, isn't it?"
Felix nodded, keeping his expression carefully neutral. "It is. But at least they won't be able to hurt anyone anymore. You're safe, that's what matters."
Bangchan, attempting to salvage the day, suggested, "Why don't we try to do something fun to lighten the mood? How about we play some games at the arcade here?"
The group agreed, albeit half-heartedly, and made their way to the arcade. As they played, Y/N found herself repeatedly glancing at Felix. His earlier reaction to the news report lingered in her mind, casting him in a new, more ominous light.
Later, as the group sat down for a meal, the conversation struggled to regain its previous ease. The friends chatted about mundane topics, but the underlying tension was palpable.
Felix remained mostly quiet, his mind preoccupied with the secret he was keeping. He knew that his actions, though driven by a desire to protect Y/N, had crossed a dangerous line.
As they ate, Y/N finally mustered the courage to ask Felix a question that had been burning in her mind. "Felix, that news about the men... Do you really think they deserved to die?"
Felix paused, his fork midway to his mouth. He looked at Y/N, searching for the right words. "In a way, yes. They were dangerous, Y/N. They could have hurt you or worse. I can't stand the thought of anyone harming you."
Y/N felt a chill run down her spine at his words. The man she had come to know and care for now seemed like a stranger, capable of a darkness she hadn't seen before. Despite the undercurrent of discomfort, Y/N found herself torn between her growing fears about Felix and the love she felt for him. He had been her protector, her savior on two occasions, and their recent intimate moments had only deepened her affection.
As the group wrapped up their meal, her friends, though worried about the news, expressed their gratitude towards Felix for always being there for Y/N. They liked him for his protective nature and the way he made Y/N feel loved.
Bangchan, taking a moment alone with Y/N, voiced his thoughts. "Hey, Y/N, just wanted to say, Felix seems like a great guy. You two look good together."
Y/N smiled, feeling reassured by her friend's approval. "Thanks, Bangchan. He's been really wonderful."
Yeonjun chimed in, "Yeah, and the way he stepped up for you that night. You've got a real hero there."
As the group said their goodbyes, Felix took Y/N's hand firmly, his grip conveying a sense of protectiveness rather than possessiveness. Walking her home, Felix sensed the mixed emotions in Y/N.
"Everything okay, Y/N? You seem a bit quiet," Felix inquired, his tone gentle.
Y/N nodded, her mind still processing the day's events. "Yeah, I'm just thinking about everything. It's been an eventful day."
Felix smiled, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, I'm glad I finally got to meet your friends. They seem really cool."
"They are," Y/N agreed, her spirits lifted slightly by Felix's attempt to keep things upbeat.
As they reached her apartment, Felix's concern was evident. "Y/N, if you ever need anything or feel uneasy, just let me know. I'm here for you."
"I know, Felix. Thank you," Y/N said, giving him a small, grateful smile.
They stood at her door, the evening ending on a more positive note. Y/N felt a sense of comfort knowing her friends liked Felix and that he was there to support her. Felix leaned down and gave her a warm and gentle kiss. His heart swelled with emotion as Y/N returned his warm and gentle kiss. The night had been a mix of apprehensions and affirmations, but this moment felt like a culmination of all their shared experiences.
"I love you, Felix," Y/N whispered, her eyes locked with his.
Hearing those words, Felix felt an overwhelming rush of happiness. He had longed to hear them since the day they met. His smile was bright and unrestrained as he kissed her again, unable to contain his joy. "I love you too, Y/N. More than you can imagine," he replied, his voice filled with emotion.
Y/N smiled back, her eyes reflecting the deep connection they shared. "I'm so glad you're in my life, Felix. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Y/N. Sleep well," Felix responded, watching her disappear inside.
As Felix made his way back to his apartment, his mind replayed their evening. He leaned against his door, lost in thought, a dreamy expression on his face. The confession of love had ignited something intense within him.
He removed his shoes and jacket, walking through the dimly lit apartment to a room he always kept locked. This room was his sanctuary, a hidden space filled with his deepest obsessions and desires.
Inside, the walls were covered with pictures of Y/N, some taken long before they officially met. Felix had been quietly observing her, captivated by her kindness since the rainy day she offered him her umbrella. That gesture had sparked an obsession that grew with each passing day.
He had carefully orchestrated their meeting at the market, though to Y/N, he was just a stranger. Each photograph, each stolen moment captured in these images, was a testament to his growing fixation.
Felix picked up Y/N's scarf from the room, inhaling her scent. His mind raced with plans and possibilities. "She loves me," he whispered to himself. "Now, we can truly start our life together."
He thought aloud, addressing the empty room, "It's time for the next step. Y/N should be with me, always. She'll be safe and loved. I'll make sure of it."
Felix's thoughts turned to the future, envisioning a life where Y/N was by his side, away from any perceived threats or dangers. In his mind, this was the ultimate act of love and protection.
"I'll start preparing tomorrow," Felix mused, his voice low. "Everything needs to be perfect for her. She deserves that."
As he left the room, locking away his secret shrine, Felix felt a resolve stronger than ever. His love for Y/N had become an all-consuming force, driving him towards a future where he could keep her close, forever safeguarded in his care. The night shift at the market store felt surprisingly light for Y/N. There was an air of anticipation around her, a sense that something significant and exciting was on the horizon. The unsettling news about the men's supposed suicide had receded to the back of her mind, replaced by thoughts of her blossoming relationship with Felix.
Even when the guard brought up the incident, Y/N's response was brief and detached. "It's just one of those things, I guess," she said, trying to keep the conversation light.
Hwan, observing her nonchalant attitude, commented, "You seem pretty chill about the whole thing. Felix must've really helped you through it, huh?"
Y/N blushed slightly, choosing not to delve into the intimate details of her time with Felix. "Yeah, he's been amazing," she admitted.
"If he shows up tonight, I need to thank him for looking out for you," Hwan added, a tone of gratitude in his voice.
As if on cue, Felix entered the store, his demeanor one of contentment and happiness. He greeted the guard and Hwan warmly before making his way over to Y/N.
The guard, in a light-hearted attempt to ease the mood, teased, "Look out, everyone, here comes Mr. Knight in Shining Armor."
Hwan joined in with a laugh, giving Felix a friendly pat on the back. "Good to see you, man. We owe you one for keeping Y/N safe."
Felix, slightly bashful at the attention, smiled and nodded. "It's nothing. I'm just glad she's okay."
As Felix approached Y/N, he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small box. "I got something for you," he said, his voice soft.
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise as Felix opened the box to reveal a beautiful necklace inside. The design was elegant and perfectly matched her style.
"Felix, it's gorgeous! You didn't have to do this," Y/N exclaimed, touched by the gesture.
Felix gently took the necklace out of the box. "I wanted to. Here, let me put it on you," he offered, his fingers deftly fastening the necklace around her neck.
As Y/N touched the necklace, now adorning her neck, she looked at Felix with a mix of affection and gratitude. "Thank you, Felix. I love it."
The rest of the night shift passed with an ease that had been missing for some time. Y/N's colleagues noticed the change in her, the lightness in her step, the frequent glances she and Felix exchanged. The store had a warm, almost festive atmosphere, with customers picking up on the positive vibe.
As closing time approached, Hwan nudged Y/N playfully. "You guys are too cute. It's like a romantic movie in here."
The guard chimed in, "Yeah, just make sure to invite us to the wedding, okay?"
Y/N laughed, a genuine, carefree sound that hadn't been heard in a while. "We'll see about that," she said, her eyes twinkling.
Y/N couldn't stop admiring the necklace Felix had given her, her heart fluttering with happiness. She walked close to him, her hand tightly clasped in his, the other arm wrapped around his. The gift was more than just an accessory; it felt like a physical representation of their growing relationship.
As they strolled through the quiet streets, Y/N chatted excitedly. "I still can't believe you got this for me, Felix. It's so beautiful, and it's just my style," she gushed, her eyes sparkling in the dim streetlight.
Felix smiled, happy to see her so elated. "I saw it and immediately thought of you. I'm glad you like it."
The conversation flowed easily until Felix, with a hint of nervousness in his voice, broached a new topic. "Y/N, I've been thinking... What would you say about moving in with me?"
Y/N's steps faltered, and she looked at him with wide eyes, taken aback by the question. "Moving in? With you?" she asked, a mix of surprise and contemplation in her voice.
"Yeah," Felix said, a hopeful note in his voice. "I mean, we've been spending so much time together, and I just thought it'd be nice to... you know, take the next step."
Y/N paused, weighing the idea. "Felix, it's a big step. I love spending time with you, and I love this," she said, touching the necklace, "but I'm also really attached to my apartment. And, well, I haven't even seen your place yet."
Felix's heart sank a little at her response, but he understood her hesitation. "Of course, I get it. It's a big decision. How about this - why don't you come over and see my place? You can take all the time you need to think about it. No pressure."
"That sounds fair," Y/N replied, her expression softening. "I'd like to see where you live. It'll help me make up my mind."
They continued their walk, the conversation shifting to lighter topics. Felix felt a twinge of disappointment but remained hopeful. Showing Y/N his apartment would be the perfect opportunity to bring her closer into his world.
As they reached Y/N's apartment, Felix gave her a gentle kiss. "Let me know when you want to come over. I'll make sure it's special."
Y/N nodded, her mind abuzz with thoughts about their future. "I will. Thanks, Felix. Tonight was really wonderful."
They said their goodbyes, and as Felix walked away, he couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and anxiety. His plan to have Y/N move in with him was set in motion, and he hoped it would only be a matter of time before she agreed. The next day, Y/N arranged to meet BangChan and Jeongin. She was eager to share the big news about Felix's proposal for her to move in with him, but she also carried a mix of excitement and uncertainty.
As they sat down at a local café, Y/N broached the subject. "So, Felix asked me to move in with him," she began, watching their reactions closely.
BangChan's face lit up with enthusiasm. "That's great news! Felix seems like a stand-up guy. Plus, it's nice to have another Aussie around," he said with a grin.
Jeongin, however, was more reserved. While he tried to appear supportive, there was a hint of skepticism in his expression. "It's a big step, Y/N. Are you sure about this?"
Y/N, feeling a bit defensive, replied, "I think so. Felix has been amazing, and after everything he's done for me..."
Jeongin's gaze then fell on the necklace Y/N was wearing. "That's a new piece, isn't it? It's not really your usual style," he observed, his curiosity piqued.
Y/N touched the necklace, a gift from Felix. "Yeah, Felix gave it to me last night. Isn't it beautiful?"
While BangChan admired the necklace, Jeongin scrutinized it more closely, a frown forming on his face. He couldn't shake off a feeling that there was something more to the pendant than met the eye.
Unknown to them, Felix was watching from a distance, his presence hidden. He listened intently, his expression darkening as he heard Jeongin's comments about the necklace.
The necklace, unknown to Y/N, contained a tracker. Felix had planted it to keep a close eye on her movements, a dark testament to his growing obsession and need for control.
Y/N, sensing Jeongin's unease, became defensive. "Jeongin, Felix is a good person. He's been nothing but kind and protective."
Jeongin, though concerned, tried to soften his stance. "I'm just looking out for you, Y/N. It's a big decision, that's all."
BangChan intervened, trying to defuse the tension. "Let's not worry too much right now. We're all here for you, Y/N, no matter what you decide."
As the conversation at the café continued, Felix discreetly left, his mind overwhelmed with thoughts of what he had to do. He hurried back to his apartment, determined to remove the traces of his obsession from the locked room.
Once inside his apartment, Felix approached the locked room with a sense of urgency. His expression was a blend of regret for what he had to let go and determination to move forward in his relationship with Y/N.
He began the painstaking process of dismantling his shrine. One by one, he took down the photographs of Y/N, each image a memory of his hidden surveillance. With each picture destroyed, Felix felt a part of his old obsession crumbling away. All the small items he had collected from Y/N over time were discarded, except for her scarf. He crafted a plausible story in his mind about how he came to have it, intending to return it to her under innocent pretenses.
Felix also took the time to clean the rest of his apartment, erasing any sign of the darker aspects of his life. The locked room was now bare, its purpose no longer necessary. He hid the scarf in a safe place, planning to reintroduce it to Y/N under a different light.
When Sunday arrived, Y/N came over to spend the day at Felix's place. Felix double-checked the apartment to ensure nothing was out of place. The only photos visible were recent ones of him and Y/N together, harmless reminders of their time as a couple.
Hearing a knock at the door, Felix's heart raced with anticipation. He opened the door with a bright, welcoming smile and greeted Y/N warmly. "Hey, Y/N! I'm so glad you could come. Welcome to my place," he said, stepping aside to let her in.
Y/N entered, looking around curiously. "Wow, Felix, your place is really nice," she commented, taking in the clean and orderly space.
Felix led her on a tour, showing her the living room, kitchen, and finally the bedroom. The room that once held his dark obsession was now just an ordinary space, its secrets carefully hidden away.
"So, what do you think?" Felix asked, hopeful.
Y/N smiled, genuinely impressed. "It's great, Felix. You have a lovely home."
As they settled in the living room, Felix felt a sense of relief. The day was unfolding smoothly, and the darkness of his past actions seemed to be fading away. He was determined to create new, happier memories with Y/N, memories untainted by the shadows of his obsession.
They spent the day together, enjoying each other's company, talking, laughing, and planning for the future. As the day turned into evening, Y/N felt more at ease, the comfort of Felix's home and his company making her consider the possibility of moving in with him more seriously.
Felix watched her throughout the day, his love for her mingling with an underlying fear of losing her. He knew he had crossed lines in the past, but now he finally had her by his side. That evening, Felix took charge of preparing dinner. As he busied himself in the kitchen, Y/N offered to help, echoing the question he had once asked her. Felix, however, insisted that she relax and enjoy her evening. "No need to lift a finger, Y/N. I've got this," he said with a reassuring smile.
Y/N, unable to sit still, began wandering around Felix's apartment, admiring its spaciousness and tasteful decor. Her curiosity was piqued when she came across a room with a key lock on the door. It seemed out of place in the otherwise open and welcoming apartment.
"Why is there a lock on this door?" Y/N asked, turning to Felix with a curious expression.
Felix, caught off guard, felt a surge of nervousness. "Oh, that? It's always been there since I moved in. Just a spare room, really. Haven't figured out what to do with it yet," he explained, trying to sound nonchalant.
Y/N nodded, accepting his explanation, but the locked door stayed in her mind as an odd detail.
Dinner was served, and Felix poured them each a glass of wine. His attempt to enjoy the wine ended in a comical grimace, causing Y/N to laugh. "It's okay, Felix. Not everyone's a wine person," she said, finding his reaction endearing.
"I'll stick to something less sophisticated," Felix joked, opting for a soft drink instead.
As the night wore on, Y/N realized it had gotten quite late. She mentioned that she should head back, but Felix suggested she stay over, citing the lateness of the hour. "It's late, and I don't like the thought of you walking back alone. Stay here, and I'll walk you back in the morning," he offered.
Y/N hesitated but then agreed, feeling comfortable and safe in Felix's presence. The topic of moving in came up again, and although Y/N was still unsure, Felix had an idea.
"What if you stayed for the whole weekend? Just to see how it feels living here with me," he suggested gently and hopefully.
Y/N considered the proposal, playing with the necklace Felix had given her. "That's actually a good idea. I'll give it a try," she said, a smile forming on her lips.
As Felix embraced Y/N, a sense of elation mixed with a darker satisfaction filled him. He pulled her into a long, passionate kiss, his hands gently squeezing her waist, drawing a soft moan from her lips. The intensity of their connection deepened with each moment, enveloping them in a world of their own.
Breathless, Felix momentarily pulled away, his gaze fixating on the necklace he had given Y/N. His eyes momentarily darkened, a hint of something more than just affection lurking in their depths. He gently lifted the necklace, admiring how it adorned her neck.
"Y/N, promise me you'll always wear this," he said in a low voice, laden with an unspoken meaning.
Y/N, blissfully unaware of the true nature of the necklace, nodded with a smile. "I love it, Felix. I'll only take it off for showers. It's too beautiful to get ruined," she promised, her voice filled with sincerity.
Hearing her promise, Felix's smile grew wider, a sense of possessiveness cloaked in the guise of affection. He drew her back into a kiss, their lips meeting with renewed fervor.
As their kiss deepened, Felix's touch grew more insistent, his hands exploring her with a growing intensity. Y/N was entirely caught up in the moment, oblivious to the subtle shift in Felix's demeanor.
"I can't believe how lucky I am to have you," Felix murmured against her lips, his voice a mix of tenderness and something more possessive. "You're mine, Y/N. Only mine."
His words sent shivers down her spine, her response a soft moan that encouraged him further. Felix's hands moved to the hem of her dress, slowly lifting it up and over her head, revealing her in the soft light of the room.
Gently, he carried her to his bedroom, laying her down with care. He hovered above her, his gaze admiring every curve and contour of her body. "You are breathtaking," he whispered, his lips tracing a path from her lips down her neck, eliciting soft gasps and whispered pleas from Y/N.
Y/N's fingers tangled in his hair, her voice filled with desire as she called out his name. "Felix, I... I need you."
The night evolved into a whirlwind of passion and intimacy, their connection growing more intense with each caress, each whispered declaration of need and desire.
Later, as they lay entwined in the aftermath, Y/N felt a deep sense of connection to Felix, mistaking his possessiveness for profound love and care. Felix, on the other hand, reveled in the control he felt over her, his actions driven by an obsession masked as affection.
Their relationship was evolving into a complex web of love, trust, and manipulation. Felix's veneer of protection and care for Y/N was slowly ensnaring her in a situation where her affection for him was becoming entangled with his increasingly controlling behavior. It was a dangerous path, one where affection and dependency blurred the lines, leading them deeper into a world where true intentions and emotions were dangerously obscured.
.
The weekend Y/N spent at Felix's place felt like a blissful escape from reality. She was so enamored by the experience that she texted her friends about her decision to move in with Felix permanently. Her friends, especially BangChan, were thrilled. "That's amazing, Y/N! Felix seems like a great guy, and you two are so good together," BangChan responded enthusiastically.
However, Jeongin harbored reservations. Despite his efforts to appear supportive, a sense of unease about Felix lingered in his mind. It was something about Felix's demeanor, the way he seamlessly blended into their group, that didn't quite sit right with him.
When they all went out to celebrate, Felix was charming and sociable, effortlessly fitting in with Y/N's friends. Yet, Jeongin couldn't help but feel there was something off. He found himself frequently glancing at Felix, analyzing his interactions and laughter, which seemed almost too perfect.
Felix, perceptive as ever, noticed Jeongin's glances. He turned to him, offering a reassuring smile while keeping his arm wrapped gently but firmly around Y/N's waist.
As the night progressed, Jeongin's discomfort grew. Eventually, he couldn't keep his concerns to himself any longer. He pulled Felix aside, away from the group, under the pretense of a casual chat.
"Listen, Felix," Jeongin began, trying to sound casual but with an underlying firmness. "I'm happy for Y/N, and I get that she's really into you. But we all care about her a lot, you know? Just make sure you treat her right."
Felix's expression remained calm, but there was a glint in his eye that suggested he understood the true nature of Jeongin's words. "Jeongin, I appreciate your concern. Y/N means the world to me. I'd never do anything to hurt her," he replied, his tone smooth yet carrying an unspoken warning.
Jeongin met Felix's gaze, trying to read the man before him. "Good. Because if anything happens to her, if she's not happy, we'll have a problem," he stated, his voice low but serious.
Felix nodded, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Understood. But trust me, Y/N's happiness is my top priority."
As they rejoined the group, Jeongin couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Felix than met the eye. His smile seemed genuine, but his eyes held a darkness that Jeongin found unsettling.
The celebration continued, but the interaction between Felix and Jeongin cast a subtle shadow over the festivities. Y/N, blissfully unaware of the exchange, enjoyed the evening, feeling loved and supported by both Felix and her friends.
Back at Felix's apartment later that night, as Y/N slept peacefully, Felix lay awake, his thoughts dark and swirling. He knew Jeongin suspected something, and that could be a problem. Felix's mind raced with plans and contingencies, determined to keep Y/N close and to maintain the carefully constructed facade of their perfect relationship. His obsession with Y/N had reached a point where any threat, real or perceived, would be dealt with swiftly and decisively.
In the heart of the city, under the guise of a normal evening, the dynamics among friends were shifting, veering towards a path none could have predicted. Felix, with his polished charm and a smile that never seemed to falter, was the center of admiration among Y/N's friends, all except for Jeongin. His intuition screamed that something was amiss, a sentiment that grew stronger with each passing day. Jeongin's observations of Felix had morphed into a silent vigil, his distrust simmering beneath a facade of cordiality.
It wasn't long before Y/N sensed the tension, the unspoken accusations that Jeongin harbored against Felix. She arranged to meet with Jeongin, hoping to bridge the growing divide, unaware of the depth of Jeongin's concerns. BangChan, ever the peacemaker, joined them, believing he could mend the fractures in their friendship.
As they settled into the conversation, Jeongin wasted no time unveiling his unease. "Y/N, I have to be honest with you. There's something off about Felix. He's too perfect, too calculated. It doesn't sit right with me," Jeongin confessed, his gaze locked onto hers, searching for understanding.
Y/N's heart sank. "Jeongin, why can't you see the good in him? He's been nothing but kind and loving. How can you question his intentions?" she retorted, her voice laced with disappointment and disbelief.
BangChan chimed in, hoping to diffuse the tension. "Jeongin, maybe you're just seeing things. Felix is a great guy. You're making it into something it's not," he attempted to reason, his words aimed at restoring peace.
But Jeongin was resolute, driven by a conviction that something darker lurked beneath Felix's surface. "No, it's not just a feeling. Don't you find it strange how protective he is? How he always needs to be close to Y/N, as if he's afraid she'll disappear?" Jeongin pressed on, his concerns spilling out, unchecked.
Y/N felt torn, her loyalty to Felix clashing with her friendship with Jeongin. "Jeongin, he's just being protective. He cares about me," she defended, her voice quivering with emotion.
Jeongin sighed, a weighty realization pressing upon him. "Y/N, there's a difference between protection and possession. Felix's attachment to you... it's obsessive. And after that incident with the group that harassed you, how quickly they... disappeared. Doesn't that make you wonder?" Jeongin urged, his voice a mix of worry and desperation.
The conversation took a turn, with Jeongin teetering on the brink of a confession, his feelings for Y/N nearly surfacing. "I just... I care about you, more than you know," he stumbled, catching himself before his emotions could betray him further.
As they parted ways, a hug exchanged in the dim light of the evening, neither noticed the shadow that followed. Felix, his heart a tumult of fear and rage, had overheard every word. Jeongin's nearly confessed feelings for Y/N and his persistent doubts about Felix's character were a threat that Felix could not ignore.
Jeongin's mind was a whirlwind of concern and suspicion as he navigated the dimly lit streets, his recent confrontation with Felix replaying over and over. The chill of the night air did little to cool the heat of his frustration. So deep in thought was he that he failed to notice the silent figure tailing him, blending into the darkness with predatory ease.
The abruptness of being slammed against the wall jolted Jeongin to the present. Panic surged as a cold blade pressed against his chest, the sharp point a stark contrast to the warmth of his skin. His eyes, wide with fear, met Felix's, but what he saw wasn't the man Y/N had fallen for. This Felix was a stranger, his gaze burning with an intensity that bordered on madness.
"Felix, what... what are you doing?" Jeongin's voice was barely a whisper, his disbelief palpable.
"You've always been in the way, Jeongin. Always watching, doubting, questioning," Felix hissed, his voice laced with venom. "I can't have you ruining everything I've worked for. Y/N is mine, and you... you're just a problem that needs to be removed."
Jeongin's struggle was futile against Felix's unexpected strength. "Please, Felix, think about this. You don't have to do this," he pleaded, desperation coloring his tone.
"Sorry, Jeongin. I've thought about this plenty. You leave me no choice." With those final words, Felix drove the knife home, watching as the light faded from Jeongin's eyes, his body going limp in his grasp.
As Felix stepped away, leaving Jeongin's lifeless form in the alley, a chilling calm settled over him. He took a moment to catch his breath, the rush of his actions pulsing through him like a dark heartbeat. The deed was done. Jeongin, the obstacle to his perfect future with Y/N, was gone forever.
Felix merged back into the shadows, his steps quick but measured as he made his way home. The city around him buzzed with the ignorance of the night's events, an eerie backdrop to the grim tableau he had left behind.
Upon reaching the safety of his shared home with Y/N, Felix slipped through the door, his expression carefully neutral. Y/N greeted him with a smile, blissfully unaware of the darkness that clung to him like a second skin.
"Hey, you're back! I missed you," Y/N said, her voice a soothing balm to the turmoil inside him.
Felix forced a smile, his heart heavy with the secret he now carried. "Yeah, I'm back. Missed you too," he replied, wrapping his arms around her in a hug that was both an embrace and a plea for absolution.
The night wore on, with Felix playing his part perfectly, the loving partner, all the while the shadow of his actions loomed large, a dark specter over their seemingly perfect life. The next day, Felix was sorting through his apartment, feigning a casual air as he "stumbled upon" the key to the locked room that once housed his shrine to Y/N. With calculated nonchalance, he presented the key to her, a playful grin dancing on his lips.
"Look what I found," he announced, holding up the key with mock surprise. "Should we see what's behind that door?"
Y/N's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she approached, her interest piqued by the mystery. "Definitely!" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with excitement.
Together, they unlocked the door, revealing the barren room within. Y/N's suggestion of turning it into a spare bedroom sparked a brief discussion about home renovations, their conversation peppered with laughter and playful banter.
Felix's hand found its way to Y/N's stomach, a silent promise of future plans and shared dreams. "Maybe someday," he murmured, his tone laced with warmth and affection.
Y/N's giggle filled the room, her eyes alight with joy. "Slow down, tiger," she teased, playfully pushing his hand away.
A few days later, the news of Jeongin's death shattered the fragile bubble of their happiness. Y/N's tears flowed freely as she mourned the loss of her childhood friend, her grief palpable in the air.
Felix stood by her side, his heart heavy with guilt and excitement in equal measure. "I'm so sorry, Y/N," he whispered, his arms wrapping around her trembling form. "Jeongin was incredible."
Y/N's sobs echoed in the room as Felix held her close, his mind racing with a mixture of emotions. "You're safe with me, Y/N," he vowed softly, his words a promise tinged with darkness.
In the days that followed, their life together unfolded like a bittersweet symphony, harmonizing moments of joy with whispers of darkness. Felix embraced his role as Y/N's steadfast companion, a silent guardian in the shadows of her world. At Jeongin’s funeral, their tears mingled, a testament to their shared grief.
But when Y/N expressed a desire for solitude at Jeongin's grave, Felix's heart clenched with unease. BangChan's voice broke the silence, offering a gentle reminder to respect Y/N's need for space.
"Hey, man, give her some time," BangChan said, his voice soft but firm. "She's hurting, and she needs to process this."
Felix nodded reluctantly, his gaze following Y/N's retreating figure. "Yeah, you're right," he replied, his tone tinged with apprehension. "I'll give her some space."
As Felix and BangChan stood in silence, another figure approached, their footsteps echoing in the quiet cemetery. It was Beomgyu, Jeongin's longtime friend. Y/N's eyes met Beomgyu's, a silent understanding passing between them.
"Hey," Beomgyu said softly, his voice choked with emotion. "I'm so sorry for your loss."
Y/N nodded, her own tears threatening to spill over. "Thank you," she whispered, reaching out to embrace him.
Felix's jaw tightened as he watched the exchange, a surge of jealousy coursing through him. He couldn't bear to see another man comfort Y/N, not when she was his.
BangChan noticed Felix's reaction and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, man," he said quietly. "Beomgyu was Jeongin's friend too. We're all grieving."
Felix forced a tight smile, his eyes never leaving Y/N and Beomgyu. "Yeah, you're right," he muttered, his voice strained. "Thanks, BangChan."
As Y/N and Beomgyu shared a moment of solace, Felix's mind churned with a mixture of doubt and insecurity. He felt a pang of jealousy seeing Beomgyu offering comfort to Y/N, a feeling he tried to suppress but couldn't ignore. The thought of losing her to someone else gnawed at him like a festering wound, fueling his inner turmoil.
Watching them from a distance, Felix's facade of composure began to crack under the weight of his emotions. He knew he had to be there for Y/N, to support her in her time of need, but the sight of Beomgyu's comforting gesture stirred up a storm of jealousy within him. It was a reminder of the uncertainty that lingered in their relationship, the fear of losing her to someone who could offer her more than he ever could.
After a while, BangChan and Felix approached Y/N and Beomgyu, their presence breaking the silence that hung in the air. Y/N and Beomgyu pulled away from each other, but their arms lingered, a silent testament to the bond they shared in their grief.
Hey, everything okay?” BangChan’s voice broke the silence, his concern evident in his tone as he approached Beomgyu. He patted Beomgyu’s back, offering a reassuring gesture of solidarity.
Beomgyu's gaze shifted to Felix, his eyes betraying a hint of suspicion as he replied, "I'm coping, I guess. It's just hard to believe that Jeongin's gone."
Felix's jaw tightened at Beomgyu's words, a surge of resentment rising within him. He knew that Jeongin had confided in Beomgyu about their relationship, about his trust in Felix. And now, with Jeongin gone, Beomgyu's presence felt like a threat, a reminder of the fragility of their bond.
As Beomgyu's eyes flickered between Y/N and Felix, a silent tension hung in the air, a palpable reminder of the darkness that lurked beneath the surface. Felix could feel the weight of Beomgyu's scrutiny, the unspoken challenge that passed between them.
But amidst the tension, Y/N stood between them, her presence a beacon of light in the darkness. She reached for Felix's hand, her touch grounding him in the present moment. "We'll get through this together," she said softly, her eyes meeting his with unwavering determination.
Felix forced a tight smile, his heart heavy with the weight of his insecurities. "Yeah, we will," he replied, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "We'll always be there for each other."
Felix's mind was a tumultuous sea of doubt and insecurity, his thoughts swirling like dark storm clouds on the horizon. Beomgyu's presence felt like a shadow looming over their relationship, casting a pall of uncertainty on their future together.
Standing together, the silence between Felix and Beomgyu crackled with unspoken tension, a silent battle raging beneath the surface for Y/N's affections. Each locked gaze held a myriad of emotions, from resentment to determination, as they vied for dominance in Y/N's heart.
As days turned into weeks, Felix found himself increasingly on edge, the whispers of doubt and suspicion swirling around him like a gathering storm. The conflicting reports surrounding Jeongin's death only added fuel to the fire, leaving Felix feeling like a man walking on a tightrope over a chasm of uncertainty.
His unease only grew as he observed the growing closeness between Beomgyu and Y/N. The constant barrage of messages on Y/N's phone from Beomgyu felt like a dagger to Felix's heart, each notification a painful reminder of his own insecurities.
One day, while out shopping with Y/N, Felix's patience reached its breaking point. A stranger approached, his smooth words dripping with insincerity as he attempted to charm Y/N with compliments. Despite her polite attempts to deflect his advances, the stranger persisted, his persistence fueling Felix's growing anger.
With a forced smile masking his simmering rage, Felix stepped forward, wrapping his arms protectively around Y/N. "She's with me," he declared firmly, his voice laced with an underlying threat.
His smile remained fixed, but his eyes burned with intensity as he held Y/N close, a silent warning to the persistent stranger.
Unseen by Y/N, the stranger's demeanor shifted as his gaze met Felix's, a silent acknowledgment of the simmering tension between them. In that moment, Felix knew that the fight for Y/N's heart was far from over, and he was determined to emerge victorious, no matter the cost.
Beomgyu sat in his room, the weight of his suspicions pressing heavily on his mind. He knew he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling any longer. With a deep breath, he picked up his phone and dialed BangChan's number.
"Hey, BangChan," Beomgyu greeted, his voice tense with apprehension. "Can we talk? It's about Felix."
BangChan's voice came through the phone, warm and familiar. "Of course, Beomgyu. What's on your mind?"
"It's just... I've been feeling really uneasy about Felix lately," Beomgyu admitted, his words coming out in a rush. "I know you trust him, but there's something about him that doesn't sit right with me."
There was a pause on the other end of the line before BangChan responded. "I understand where you're coming from, Beomgyu, but Felix has always been nothing but kind to us. Are you sure you're not just overthinking things?"
Beomgyu sighed, frustration evident in his voice. "I wish I could believe that, but I can't shake this feeling. Something about Felix just feels... off."
BangChan's voice softened with understanding. "I get it, Beomgyu. I'll keep an eye out, okay? But try not to stress too much. We don't want to jump to conclusions."
After ending the call with BangChan, Beomgyu knew he couldn't rely on others to validate his suspicions. He needed to gather more evidence on his own. So, he reached out to Y/N's other friends, hoping they might share his concerns about Felix.
"Hey, guys," Beomgyu greeted as he met up with Yeonjun, Chanbin, and Wooyoung. "I need to talk to you about something important."
As he shared his concerns about Felix, Beomgyu watched their reactions closely, hoping to find some validation for his suspicions. But to his dismay, they all echoed BangChan's sentiments, unable to see Felix as anything other than the caring partner he appeared to be.
Feeling defeated, Beomgyu retreated to his room, his mind swirling with doubts and questions. He couldn't shake the memory of Jeongin's suspicions, or the feelings he himself had harbored for Y/N. It was a tangled web of emotions, and Beomgyu felt hopelessly trapped in the middle of it all.
Determined to uncover the truth, Beomgyu turned to the internet, scouring social media and news articles for any hint of Felix's past. But no matter how hard he searched, there was nothing. Felix seemed to have no history, no online presence to speak of.
Frustrated and feeling like a stalker, Beomgyu knew he needed to approach this from a different angle. Instead of digging for information, he needed to find a way to trigger Felix, to see if he could reveal his true colour’s.
Beomgyu, determined to set his plan in motion, reached out to y/n once again. They had never really spent time together unless Jeongin was the instigator, making this their first one-on-one hangout.
It could feel awkward due to this dynamic, but Beomgyu justified it by suggesting it would be nice to catch up after Jeongin’s passing, to see how they were both coping.
“It’s been too long since we hung out, just the two of us,” Beomgyu said over the phone, his voice tinged with excitement.
Y/N hesitated, surprised by the invitation. “Yeah, it has been a while. But with everything that’s happened…”
“It might be good for us to catch up, you know, after Jeongin’s passing,” Beomgyu interjected, trying to ease the tension. “Just to see how we’re both doing.”
Y/N was taken aback by the invitation but found the idea of meeting up appealing. So, they coordinated a day, time, and place to meet. On the appointed day, y/n informed Felix of her plans, eliciting a subtle flinch and a sharp look from him.
“You sure you want to go alone?” Felix asked, his brow furrowing with concern.
Y/N nodded, offering a reassuring smile. “It’s just a catch-up, Felix. Nothing more.”
Felix sighed, relenting with a nod. “Okay, just… be careful, alright?”
Y/N leaned in, planting a kiss on his lips. “I will, I promise.”
As y/n left, Felix’s demeanor turned dark and brooding. He paused for a moment before retrieving his phone, activating the tracker on y/n’s necklace to monitor her whereabouts. After fifteen tense minutes, he decided to follow her.
Y/N met Beomgyu with a warm hug, the tension of the moment melting away as they strolled down the street in search of a café. They reminisced about fond memories and shared laughs.
“It’s good to see you, Beomgyu. I’ve missed this,” y/n admitted, a nostalgic smile gracing her lips.
Beomgyu returned the smile, his eyes reflecting genuine warmth. “Me too. It’s been too long.”
Hours flew by as they delved into conversation, Beomgyu smoothly segueing into asking about y/n’s relationship with Felix.
“So, how did you two meet?” Beomgyu inquired, his tone casual yet curious.
Y/N took a sip of her coffee, a nostalgic smile gracing her lips as she began recounting her first encounters with Felix. "Well, it all started at my night shift at work," she began, her eyes glimmering with reminiscence. "Felix was a regular during the evenings. Always came in, got his coffee, and had a quick chat with me."
Beomgyu leaned in, his curiosity piqued. "And then?"
"And then," Y/N continued, "there was this one time when I had to cover a morning shift. I didn't expect to see Felix there, but he showed up. That's when we started meeting outside of my work."
Beomgyu furrowed his brows, processing the information. "He seems quite persistent," he remarked, his tone tinged with skepticism.
Y/N nodded, acknowledging his observation. "He is, but in a good way. Felix is just... genuinely nice, you know? He's funny, charming, and always knows how to make me laugh."
Beomgyu couldn't shake off his unease, despite Y/N's reassurances. "It all sounds a bit too perfect, don't you think?" he questioned, his voice tinged with concern.
Y/N's smile faltered for a moment, sensing Beomgyu's hesitation. "I understand your concerns, but Felix has always been there for me," she explained earnestly. "He's helped me out of some tough situations, especially when I was with Hwan and the guard during our night shifts."
Beomgyu sighed, still unconvinced. "It just seems... off," he admitted, voicing his doubts. "And what about Jeongin? He never trusted Felix, and now he's..."
Y/N's expression darkened, her mind drifting to Jeongin's untimely demise. "I know," she whispered, a pang of sorrow gripping her heart. "It's all so sudden, so... strange."
Meanwhile, hidden a few feet away, Felix listened intently to their conversation, his mind racing with a mix of emotions. As Beomgyu leaned in closer, his voice barely above a whisper, he pleaded with Y/N to trust him. "I know this is hard to hear, but you need to listen to me," he urged, his eyes searching hers for understanding. "There's something off about Felix, something that doesn't add up. I have a plan to uncover the truth, but I need your cooperation."
Y/N's heart raced, a mixture of fear and confusion clouding her thoughts. "I don't know, Beomgyu," she confessed, her voice trembling slightly. "I love Felix, I really do. The thought of him being... bad, it's just too much to bear."
Beomgyu reached out, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I understand, Y/N. But we can't ignore the signs, not after what happened to Jeongin," he insisted, his tone grave. "Please, just trust me on this."
After their coffee, Beomgyu and Y/N decided to take a stroll, the weight of their conversation lingering between them. As the sun began to set, casting an orange glow over the city streets, they paused, their eyes meeting in silent understanding.
"It's getting late," Beomgyu remarked, a sense of urgency in his voice. "I should head home."
Y/N nodded, a sense of unease settling over her. "Thank you for today, Beomgyu. I'll... I'll think about what you said."
As Beomgyu made his way home, a strange sensation washed over him, like he was being watched. His heart pounded in his chest as he quickened his pace, his senses on high alert. Finally reaching his street, he turned the corner, only to find himself face to face with Felix, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. Felix’s features were obscured by the shadows, but his eyes gleamed with an unsettling intensity.
Felix’s smirk widened at Beomgyu’s approach, his gaze piercing. “Well, well, well, look who decided to show up,” he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. “What’s the matter, Beomgyu? Lost your way home?”
Beomgyu squared his shoulders, refusing to back down. “I know what you’re up to, Felix,” he declared, his tone firm. “You may have everyone else fooled, but not me. Not Jeongin.”
Felix’s smirk faltered for a moment before he regained his composure, his eyes narrowing. “And what exactly do you think you know, Beomgyu?” he shot back, his voice laced with malice. “You’re just a pawn in this game, nothing more.”
Beomgyu chuckled darkly, his hands raised in a mocking gesture of surrender. “Oh, I’m well aware of my role, Felix,” he retorted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “But unlike the others, I can’t be manipulated so easily. Jeongin saw through you, and so do I.”
Felix’s expression darkened, his grip tightening into fists at his sides. “You’re playing a dangerous game, Beomgyu,” he warned, his voice low and threatening. “But mark my words, you’ll regret crossing me.”
Beomgyu met Felix’s gaze head-on, his own eyes blazing with defiance. “We’ll see about that,” he shot back, his voice steely with determination. “Because I’m not backing down until I uncover the truth about you, Felix. Not for Jeongin’s sake, and certainly not for yours.”
Felix's voice was cold and devoid of remorse as he stared down Beomgyu, his words dripping with venom. "Y/n belongs to me, and me alone," he declared, his tone sending shivers down Beomgyu's spine. "Anyone who dares to come between us or poses a threat to our relationship will face the consequences. No one will take y/n away from me, not now, not ever."
Beomgyu's eyes widened in shock at Felix's chilling proclamation. "So it was you who killed Jeongin?" he blurted out, his voice trembling with disbelief. "He didn't like you, You found out about his feelings for y/n, and you just..." Beomgyu's words trailed off, unable to comprehend the depths of Felix's depravity.
Felix's expression hardened at the accusation, but he didn't flinch. "Jeongin was a threat," he stated flatly, his grip tightening on the hidden knife in his pocket. "And now you're becoming one too, Beomgyu."
Beomgyu's heart raced as he realized the danger he was in, but he refused to back down. "Do you even feel any shame or regret?" he pressed, his voice shaking with a mixture of fear and defiance.
A sinister smile curled at the corners of Felix's lips, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Of course, I do," he admitted, his voice low and menacing. "But y/n is mine, and if I can't have her, then no one can. That includes you, Beomgyu."
Beomgyu's blood ran cold at Felix's words, the gravity of the situation sinking in. He knew he was staring into the eyes of a dangerous man, one capable of unspeakable acts in the name of love. But Beomgyu refused to cower in fear. "You won't get away with this, Felix," he vowed, his voice trembling but resolute. "I'll make sure of it."
In the dimly lit alley, Felix’s eyes flickered to a coil of rope lying nearby as Beomgyu turned to leave. In one swift motion, he lunged forward, seizing the rope and rushing toward Beomgyu with a predatory gleam in his eyes.
Beomgyu barely had time to react before Felix’s foot connected with his back, sending him crashing to the ground. Gasping for air, Beomgyu struggled to free himself as Felix advanced, his movements calculated and precise.
With a grim determination, Felix looped the rope around Beomgyu’s neck, his hands working deftly as he fashioned it into a noose knot. Beomgyu’s panicked gasps grew more frantic as Felix tightened the rope, his voice a hoarse whisper of desperation.
“Don’t do this, Felix,” Beomgyu pleaded, his voice strained and choked. “Please, just let me go.”
But Felix’s grip only tightened, his expression void of mercy as he leaned in close, his breath hot against Beomgyu’s ear. “I told you, Beomgyu,” he hissed, his voice laced with malice. “No one crosses me and gets away with it.”
Beomgyu’s struggles grew weaker as Felix’s hold on the rope tightened, cutting off his air supply. Panic surged through him as he fought for breath, the world growing hazy around him. In a last-ditch effort, he reached out, clawing at Felix’s arm in a desperate plea for mercy.
But Felix’s resolve remained unyielding as he stared down at Beomgyu with cold, unflinching eyes. “This is your warning,” he growled, his grip tightening ever further. “Cross me again, and next time, I won’t hesitate.”
Beomgyu struggled to draw breath, his fingers clawing at the rope around his neck as panic surged through him. He gazed up at Felix, his eyes wide with fear and disbelief. "You... you're sick," he managed to choke out, his voice strained and trembling.
Felix's expression contorted with a mixture of rage and desperation as he knelt beside Beomgyu, his grip on the rope tightening. "No, Beomgyu, you don't understand," he insisted, his voice strained. "I'm doing this for y/n. Can't you see? She's everything to me."
Beomgyu shook his head weakly, his chest heaving with the effort to breathe. "This isn't love, Felix," he gasped, his voice barely above a whisper. "This is obsession. You need help."
Felix's eyes flashed with fury, his fingers trembling as he fought to maintain his grip on the rope. "You don't know anything about us," he spat, his voice laced with venom. "You never understood what we had."
Beomgyu's vision blurred as darkness threatened to overtake him. "I don't need to understand," he rasped, his voice growing weaker by the second. "All I know is that this isn't right. Y/n deserves better."
Felix's grip faltered for a moment, a flicker of doubt crossing his face before being replaced by a fierce determination. "No one will come between us," he vowed, his voice cold and unyielding. "Not you, not anyone."
As Felix wrestled with Beomgyu, his focus solely on the man before him, he remained oblivious to Y/N's presence, hidden nearby. Her heart raced with a tumult of emotions—fear for Beomgyu's safety, horror at Felix's actions, and love for the man she believed Felix to be.
Summoning her courage, Y/N stepped forward, her voice trembling as she cried out to Felix, pleading with him to stop. "Felix, please! Let him go!" Her words echoed in the tense air, desperation lacing her tone as she rushed towards them, her hands outstretched in a futile attempt to intervene.
Felix's eyes widened in surprise as he turned to see Y/N standing there, her expression a mixture of disbelief and anguish. The madness in his own gaze wavered, his grip on Beomgyu loosening slightly as he registered her presence. Beomgyu gasped for air, grateful for the brief respite from Felix's choking hold.
"Love, what are you doing here?" Felix's voice was strained, confusion evident in his tone as he struggled to comprehend the situation unfolding before him.
Y/N's voice trembled as she continued to plead with him, her eyes filled with tears. "Felix, please, stop this. Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to hurt him?" Her words were a desperate plea for answers, her mind reeling with confusion and disbelief.
Felix opened his mouth to respond, “Y/N I-“ but before he could utter a word, Y/N rushed forward, her lips meeting his in a desperate, passionate kiss.
It was a gambit, a desperate attempt to throw him off balance, to distract him from his violent intentions towards Beomgyu.
Their lips met in a whirlwind of emotion, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Y/N felt a surge of conflicting feelings coursing through her—fear for Beomgyu’s safety, uncertainty about Felix’s actions, and a glimmer of hope that this kiss could somehow reach the Felix she knew and loved, the one who had always been her protector and confidant.
"Stop, Felix, please," Y/N pleaded, her voice trembling with fear and desperation. "Let him go. This isn't you."
The kiss was deep and passionate, but beneath the surface, Y/N felt a sense of unease. She clung to Felix, hoping her touch could somehow reach the part of him that was still human.
"Felix, listen to me," Y/N whispered, her words barely audible against his lips. "You're not a killer. You're better than this."
Felix's arms tightened around her, but his grip faltered slightly as her words pierced through the darkness clouding his mind. "Y/N," he murmured, his voice strained with conflicting emotions. "I can't lose you. I'll do anything to protect you."
Beomgyu's gasps for air grew louder, more desperate, as he weakly removed the rope from his neck. His vision blurred with tears as he watched the scene unfold before him, powerless to intervene.
"Felix, please," Beomgyu managed to choke out, his voice trembling with fear. "Don't let this consume you. You're stronger than this."
But Felix's gaze remained fixed on Y/N, his love for her warring with the darkness within him. "I won't let anyone take you away from me," he declared, his voice tinged with desperation.
Beomgyu's heart raced with fear as he watched Felix's grip tighten around Y/N, his mind racing for a way to break through to him before it was too late. Felix's grip on Y/N tightened as he dragged her away, his eyes burning with a possessive intensity. "You belong to me, Y/N," he growled, his voice laced with both obsession and desperation. "No one will ever come between us."
Y/N's heart pounded with fear as she pleaded with Beomgyu, her voice shaking with terror. "Please, Beomgyu, don't say anything," she begged, her eyes wide with panic. "I don't want anyone else to get hurt because of me."
Beomgyu watched helplessly as Felix led Y/N away, a sinking feeling settling in the pit of his stomach. He knew he had to find a way to stop Felix before it was too late, but the fear of what Felix might do held him rooted to the spot.
Felix slammed the door shut behind them, the sound echoing through the empty hallway like a death knell. He dragged Y/N into a dimly lit room, the shadows dancing ominously around them.
Y/N's heart sank as Felix shoved her into the darkness, the cold walls closing in around her. She could feel his eyes on her, burning into her skin with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.
As Felix tied her up with the red scarf, Y/N's mind raced with fear and confusion. "Why are you doing this, Felix?" she whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. "What have I done to deserve this?"
Felix's expression softened slightly as he gazed at her, a mixture of love and madness swirling in his eyes. "I'm doing this for us, Y/N," he murmured, his voice tinged with desperation. "So that no one can come between us ever again."
Y/N's heart ached with sadness as she realized the depth of Felix's obsession with her. "But Felix," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper, "this isn't love. This is control."
Felix's grip tightened on her, his eyes flashing with anger. "You don't understand, Y/N," he snapped, his voice tinged with frustration. "I'm doing this to protect you, to keep you safe from anyone who might try to take you away from me."
Felix's words echoed in the dimly lit room, mingling with the tension that hung heavy in the air. "You'll stay here until you understand," he reiterated, his voice a mixture of determination and desperation. "Until you understand why I had to do what I did."
Y/N's heart sank as she absorbed his words, her mind reeling with confusion and fear. "But Felix, I don't understand," she pleaded, her voice trembling. "Why did you... why did you do those things?"
Felix's gaze softened momentarily as he looked at her, a flicker of regret crossing his features before he hardened once again. "Because I had to protect you, Y/N," he explained, his voice tinged with desperation. "I couldn't let anyone hurt you, not after everything we've been through."
Y/N's eyes brimmed with tears as she shook her head in disbelief. "But killing those men, and Jeongin... it's not right, Felix," she whispered, her voice barely above a whimper. "I can't understand why you would do such things."
Felix's jaw clenched as he fought to contain his emotions. "I did it for us, Y/N," he insisted, his voice tinged with urgency. "To ensure that no one could come between us. To keep you safe."
Y/N's heart ached as she looked at him, her mind struggling to comprehend the depth of his actions. "I love you, Felix," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "But this... locking me up like this, it's not love."
Felix's eyes softened momentarily as he reached out to brush a tear from her cheek. "It's the only way, Y/N," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "To ensure that we can be together forever."
Y/N's heart shattered as she watched him turn away, his footsteps echoing in the silence as he walked out of the room. She was alone, bound by his love and imprisoned by his actions, lost in a sea of confusion and despair. The days stretched into weeks, and y/n remained trapped in the suffocating confines of the apartment, confined to that dark, desolate room. The air hung heavy with dread, a palpable sense of fear permeating every corner.
Beomgyu's silence weighed heavily on y/n's mind, a constant reminder of the darkness that lurked just beyond the walls. She could feel his presence, a silent specter haunting her every thought.
Meanwhile, y/n's friends continued to visit, oblivious to the horrors that lay hidden beneath the surface. Felix held her close, his touch a suffocating reminder of the prison she found herself trapped in.
As the weeks turned into months, the memory of what had transpired between y/n, Felix, and Beomgyu began to fade, replaced by a facade of normalcy. But beneath the surface, the darkness lingered, a constant reminder of the horrors that had unfolded.
Despite the whispers of doubt that echoed in the recesses of her mind, y/n remained steadfast in her love for Felix. She couldn't bear to leave him, couldn't imagine a life without him by her side.
And so, she remained trapped in that dark, suffocating apartment, her love for Felix eclipsing the fear that threatened to consume her whole.
As y/n's friends visited once again, the atmosphere seemed strangely normal, belying the darkness that lurked just beneath the surface. BangChan, ever the jokester, couldn't resist poking fun at the empty room, suggesting it could be turned into a nursery for a future addition to the family.
"Come on, you two lovebirds," BangChan chuckled, nudging Felix playfully. "You've got the perfect setup here for a little one."
The suggestion elicited laughter from Yeonjun, Chanbin, and Wooyoung, their joviality masking the underlying tension that lingered in the air.
Felix joined in the laughter, his eyes twinkling with a hint of their former brightness. "Maybe one day," he said, squeezing y/n's hand affectionately.
Y/n giggled, her laughter tinged with a sense of innocence that belied the horrors she had endured. "Yeah, maybe one day," she echoed, her voice filled with unwavering love and devotion for Felix.
But amidst the laughter and jest, Beomgyu remained silent, his laughter forced and hollow. Despite y/n's apparent calmness, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him from within.
The conversation shifted, and the room filled with nervous laughter, each chuckle echoing like a sinister omen. Beomgyu's eyes couldn't help but linger on y/n, his heart pounding with concern for her safety. Despite her outward composure, he sensed a dark shadow looming over her, a silent menace waiting to pounce.
Felix, ever perceptive, noticed Beomgyu's unease. While y/n chatted with BangChan and the others, Felix approached Beomgyu, a sly smile playing on his lips, betraying his sinister intentions.
"You seem troubled, Beomgyu," Felix remarked, his voice dripping with malice. "Is it our dear y/n that worries you? She's changed, hasn't she? But fear not, my friend, she's in good hands."
Beomgyu's jaw tightened, his gaze hardening as he met Felix's sinister stare. "What have you done to her?" he demanded, his voice barely concealing his anger.
Felix's smile widened, his eyes gleaming with a darkness that sent shivers down Beomgyu's spine. "I've merely shown her my love and affection, like I always have,” Felix replied cryptically. "And as for you, Beomgyu, remember your promise. Keep silent, or face the consequences."
Beomgyu's fists clenched at his sides, his resolve hardening. "I'll never stop watching you, Felix," he vowed, his voice laced with determination. "And I'll protect y/n from whatever darkness you've unleashed."
Felix's gaze turned icy, his smile morphing into a chilling smirk. "Oh, Beomgyu," he taunted, his voice low and menacing. "You underestimate me. If I can't have y/n, no one will. And I won't hesitate to silence anyone who gets in my way, not even you."
As Felix approached y/n, his eyes gleaming with possessiveness, Beomgyu's heart sank. He could sense the darkness enveloping y/n, consuming her with every passing moment. Despite his growing unease, Beomgyu knew there was nothing he could do to save her from Felix's clutches.
BangChan, Yeonjun, Chanbin, and Wooyoung welcomed Felix with open arms, oblivious to the danger lurking beneath his charming facade. Beomgyu forced a smile and joined the group, his heart heavy with dread.
Throughout the evening, Felix's grip on y/n tightened, his possessiveness becoming more apparent with each passing moment. Despite the laughter and camaraderie, Beomgyu couldn't shake the feeling of impending doom.
Suddenly, Felix's demeanor shifted. His smile faltered, replaced by a cold, calculating expression. Without warning, he turned to Beomgyu, his eyes burning with malice.
"You think you can keep y/n away from me?" Felix sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "You're nothing but a pathetic bystander, Beomgyu. You can't save her from me."
Beomgyu's heart raced as he met Felix's gaze, his hands trembling with fear and frustration. He knew that intervening would only lead to disaster, yet the thought of leaving y/n in Felix's clutches tore him apart.
"You're wrong, Felix," Beomgyu retorted, his voice tinged with desperation. "I won't let you destroy her."
Felix's laughter rang out, sending shivers down Beomgyu's spine. "You can't stop me," Felix taunted, his eyes gleaming with malice. "She belongs to me now, and there's nothing you can do about it."
With a heavy heart, Beomgyu left their apartment. He turned back and watched as Felix tightened his grip on y/n, and closing the door in Beomgyu’s face. He knew that their fate was sealed, trapped in a web of obsession and despair. Beomgyu was left alone, consumed by guilt and helplessness. He knew that he would forever be haunted by the memory of y/n, trapped in Felix's clutches, a prisoner of his twisted love. And as the darkness closed in around him, Beomgyu could only pray for a glimmer of hope in a world consumed by shadows.

Bath? (Charles safelight)
Tumblr media
I walk to my room since my boyfriend charles is at my house i start to open the door revealing more of charles on my bed messing with his camera i smile and close the door going over to him "what ya doin" i ask setting the glass of water i went to get down on my night stand "just cleaning the lenses a bit" he says and i nod going to lay next to him while he fixes his camera a sigh escapes my mouth as i lay on my back onto the bed "you okay?" He asks and i nod a bit looking up at his pretty eyes "just a stressful day" i say and he nods understandingly if theres one thing i love about charles is hes so understanding i dont even think weve ever had a argument
"what do you want to do to calm down?" He asks moving a piece of hair off my face "well, if you want thats only if you want me and you could take a bath together? Its fine if you dont want to weve just never done it and i mean were always comfortable around each other but its up to you baby" i say and he thinks for a moment almost like hes been waiting for this or something (prob was)
"okay yeah sure" he says and i look up at him surprised "okay ill start the water" i say walking into my restroom making the water pretty warm and wait till the tub fills up i even put some soap so itll have a lot of bubbles i sit and admire charles while i wait for the water to rise
Charles finishes cleaning the lenses and puts everything back together before turning to me "ready?" He asks and i nod we stand up and go to the restroom i start to take my clothes off putting them in a pile on the floor before i start to get into the water the warm water relaxing my muscles charles gets in as well my back against his chest as he holds me close to him my hands rubbing his arms softly and i lay my head back against him sighing contently
My hands rub his arms softly my body relaxing into him as i take deep breaths listening to charles breathing as well "you make me so happy" i say softly and he lifts his head up and looks at me "you make me happy too" he says a small smile appearing on my face and he leans down kissing me gently i love his lips against mine so much
"we should've done this earlier" i say "100%" he says in agreement before we sit in comfortable silence with each other i look up at him my hand reaching up to touch his face gently with my finger tips and i lay a soft kiss against his cheek (cheek kisses and neck kisses make him fold 100%) and i pull away looking at him long enough to see a blush fall across his cheeks "your so adorable" i say smiling a bit to myself but it only makes him more flustered he lays his head against my shoulder "stop im gonna keep blushing" he kinda whines making me laugh softly "its okay baby" i say kissing his head softly and his arms tighten around me
His hand draws shapes against my shoulder with soap as my eyes are closed breathing deeply my head resting against charles chest charles puts his face in the crook of my neck laying soft kisses against the skin making me laugh and squeal a bit after a while of being in the water the temperature starts to go down so we take that as a sign to get out
Charles wraps a towel around my shoulders and i do the same to him we walk to my room and change into clean clothes we lay in my bed close to one another with my tv playing faintly in the background charles scoots closer to me and i open my arms letting him wrap his arms around me and lays his head on my chest my arms wrapped around him lazily my hand playing with his hair gently fixing his messy hair
He lifts his head up and lays soft kisses against my lips which i return holding his face close to mine giving him extra kisses in which he smiles trying to move away but i roll on top of him and keep giving him kisses making him eventually laugh trying to pry me off of himself and i finally let go after giving him one last firm kiss and he goes back on top of me laying his head on my chest the same position as before my hands soothingly rubbing his back and his head a bit
"i love you charles" i say softly my fingers still gliding through his soft fluffy hair "i love you more y/n" he says making me smile softly "im so glad i met you that day at the truck stop you helped me through so much" i say softly "thats all you babe" he says softly nuzzling his head against my chest "you tired?" I ask and he nods against me "go to bed baby im right here" i say switching hands that glide through his hair so i can play with his hair and rub his back softly
He closes his eyes and i watch as his body becomes more relaxed and his breath calms down i kiss his head softly and close my eyes as well charles weight like comfort as i drift to sleep with charles in my arms...
****************

Heyy! I was wondering if you could do another part to the Caspian Reid series
I don't really have an idea for it, so feel free to do whatever
Thanks!!
A/N - lots of people asked for Cassie with Henry and Jack. Henry and Jack's ages have been changed so they are around the same age.
Caspian Reid Series
Spencer felt Caspian grip his hand tightly as they approached JJ’s house. Today Cassie was going to get to meet Jack and Henry and he was extremely nervous. Last night had been full of Spencer reassuring Caspian that Jack and Henry were wonderful kids and wouldn't make fun of him if he didn’t understand something. But still, Spencer understood Caspian’s fear. His heart ached as he remembered how many times Cassie had been excited to make a new friend, only to have his heart broken when they found out Cassie was different and either dumped him altogether or were too embarrassed to play with him around other kids.
Spencer knocked, giving Cassie a reassuring smile. Cassie nervously smiled back, he trusted his daddy. He never lied to him.
“Spence, Cassie. Hi,” JJ greeted them, opening the door, “Hotch and Jack are already here. The boys are out back playing pirates.”
Cassie’s eyes lit up at the mention of pirates, he loved stories with adventure.
“Can I go play?” Cassie softly asked, looking up at his dad with big honey eyes.
“Of course,” Spencer responded, “do you want me to take you out to them?”
Cassie gratefully nodded, following after his dad and JJ to the backyard.
“Henry! Jack!” JJ called, continuing when the two boys came running over, “this is Caspian, Spencer’s son. He wants to play with you.”
Henry and Jack glanced at each other, before studying the small boy with long curly hair that clung to his dad’s side.
“Ok!” Jack said, grabbing Caspian’s free hand, “let’s go!”
The smaller boy followed after the other boys as they ran to a wooden board with a stick on it.
“This is our ship,” Henry explained, “we’re working on making a flag.”
Cassie’s eyes lit up, “I can help make it! I love drawing.”
Jack and Henry glanced at each other, smiling.
“Good,” Jack said, “You design the flag. Me and Henry were going to add on to our ship, we have to do some measurements. Want to help?”
“Um, I’m not really good at math,” Cassie mumbled, avoiding looking at the other two boys.
“That’s okay,” Henry shrugged, “you can work on the flag, while we add on to the ship.”
Cassie smiled, “Ok!”
He wasn’t used to this. Usually other kids would make him do what they wanted and didn’t listen when he said he couldn't do something and would make fun of him when they caught on to how he truly didn’t understand what to do.
A few hours later, the flag design was completed as was the ship and the boys were happily playing for a while when Spencer called Caspian in.
Spencer's heart swelled with happiness as his boy ran towards him with the biggest smile on his face.
“Did you have fun?”
Cassie nodded his head rapidly, “We played pirates and I got to make our flag! Jack and Henry didn't mind I couldn't help with the math and ship building, Or that I needed help with the spelling”
“That’s great Cassie,” Spencer kneeled down to his son’s height, “I told you they would like you.”
“I know daddy,” Cassie hugged Spencer tightly, “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.” Spencer squeezed him back.

hmmmmMMMM if you’re still taking prompts I have lots of fondness for Fallow Fields!verse
Thank you so much! This turned into a vague Meng Shi POV (cw: some misgendering of A-Yao from SiSi, but she does love him. A-Yao has two moms.) This is pretty sad, given that it's about a trans kid in a brothel, and it is also... very much 1000 words about periods. No idea what possessed me to write about that. It's not a lot of fun, but no other CWs apply other than the above + Meng Shi's implied health issues.
(and here's a link to Fallow Fields, though you don't need to read it to understand this!)
If all of that is alright with you, proceed under the cut.
Meng Yao was thirteen when the first bleeding came. Later than most, but he was so small he still looked like a child younger than his age. Meng Shi had known it was going to happen sooner or later, and told her kid to come to her immediately when it did, making sure nobody spotted him on the way.
And so he did - her A-Yao snuck into her room one early morning after spending the night god knows where, his outer robe wrapped around his waist and bunching awkwardly down over his thighs.
“Mama, I am bleeding,” A-Yao confessed, thighs pressed together fitfully and a painful grimace on his little face. “But nobody knows. I made sure of it.” Some blood had gotten on the hem of his sleeves, somehow.
“Come here my heart,” Meng Shi murmured, getting up from the bed even though her bones felt brittle. “Do not worry, we have everything ready for such a thing.”
A-Yao turned wide, trusting eyes towards her. Such a good child, he wouldn’t say pointless things like that he didn’t want this, or that it hurt. Even though Meng Shi knew both of these things were true. She wished it had waited a few more years, until they were free from this place. But time doesn’t wait for anyone; A-Yao was small and gaunt, but he’d started hunching more lately, preemptively concealing a chest that was barely there, and Meng Shi wouldn’t be able to hide him for much longer.
“It doesn’t change anything, my heart,” she assured, gathering a few things. “Just make sure to wear a catch cloth, like this, and wash your own clothes where nobody can see. Does it hurt a lot?”
“Not a lot,” A-Yao replied, obediently. She didn’t quite believe him, but pinched his cheek nonetheless. It was caked with grime, as it often was. Making sure A-Yao looked every bit like a street rat was the best defense against customers’ wandering eyes.
“Wash up and then lay down for a while, my dear. Mama will take care of everything.”
“I need to practice drills,” A-Yao protested, but he went to the water bucket willingly.
“You can do that in the afternoon,” Meng Shi shushed him. “You can’t practice when you haven’t slept. A good sleep is a gentleman’s best friend.”
She helped him dress in clean clothes, showed him how to secure a cloth between his legs and not let it slip, then put him to bed with whispered reassurances. She petted his head until he fell into an uneasy slumber, and did not stop even as her joints ached with the repeated gesture. It had been a long night, and it would be an even longer day - she didn’t dare to sleep with her baby so troubled.
“Shi’er, why are you still awake?”
SiSi walked into the room with an armful of clothes that needed mending, makeup still on her face and her hair only half-up. She spared an assessing glance for A-Yao taking up the bed, then the bloodied clothes Meng Shi had balled up in a basket.
“Shit. The aunt came, huh?” she whispered, careful not to wake the child. “You should have sent her away sooner, Shi’er. Now it’s too late.”
Meng Shi shook her head. Even if she’d been able to part from her child, without money and without a family name there was nowhere for A-Yao to go.
“How did the babe take it?” SiSi whispered, drawing Meng Shi towards the other side of the room.
“My A-Yao does not complain,” Meng Shi said proudly, but she couldn’t conceal the grimace that wanted to creep on her features. “But it’s going to be difficult from now on. My health’s been poor as of late, I must pick up the slack.”
SiSi gave her a disapproving but affectionate gaze. “Making it look like the kid has mange is all well and good, but plenty of creeps out there would not care. If the Madame so much as smells the blood on her, she is going to sell her first night before you can even say no,” she said darkly, echoing Meng Shi’s fearful thoughts. “Your rich man needs to come back soon, or Yao’er will lose any chance of ever marrying well.”
“A-Yao doesn’t need to marry,” Meng Shi reminded her firmly, her breath slightly labored as she stood to pick up the soiled clothes. “He will be a cultivator. Their rules are different. One can make their own way in the cultivation world if they’re strong.”
“Saying it doesn’t make it true, Shi’er. You filled your baby’s head with stories about gentlemanly heroes—“
“It was not my idea, it was A-Yao’s,” Meng Shi whispered heatedly. “Besides, it’s safer this way, isn’t it?”
SiSi groaned. “I want the best for the babe too, but—”
They both turned to look towards the bed, where A-Yao slept fitfully. His face was flushed and his lips rosy, the prettiness of youth inexorably blossoming on his features with each passing month, no matter how much they tried to conceal it with baggy clothes and powders.
“SiSi,” Meng Shi sighed, closing the curtains between the little alcove and the rest of the room. “You know as well as I do that women hardly ever leave this place. If A-Yao can… if at least A-Yao could…”
She didn’t need to finish the sentence. The shared helplessness weighed on the both of them heavier than a stone, but their hope was shared as well, flimsy as it was. That a bright and willful child could make it out, could become someone.
Meng Shi nodded in a final manner, even as a traitorous cough made her choke in her fist. “If A-Yao can learn enough cultivation, he will be welcomed by his father no matter what he wears. Who wouldn’t accept such a good, filial child? He only needs to be strong enough to make the trip - we can protect him until then.”
“Well, I agree with you on one thing, Shi’er… do not send that man a daughter.” SiSi rubbed Meng Shi’s arm dejectedly, shaking her head. “I’ll go get some ginger root for cramps.”

After a long time of thinking 💭 your match is...
Solomon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background:
As an intp you are very reserved and may seem aloof and distant toward people you aren't close with. As for Solomon he is quite the opposite in that matter. When you first saw him he seemed popular, powerful, and everyone liked him. But you didnt care about adapting or making "friends" as long as they left you alone. And as long as you SURVIVED! But somehow all eyes where on you because 1. You where a human 2. You are kind of mysterious to them due to your personality and 3. You where kind of a celebrity with the whole exchange programe thing going on. When Solomon first approached you as a fellow human, he told you he wanted to become friends because your life could be on the line any moment, due to you being surrounded by literal demons in HELL i mean "devildom". He told you that you as humans should stick together since you came from a similar background. You became friends with him not because you trusted the shady dude but because you felt most safe around him, even when you two where friends you didnt really open up to him, it was more for your own benefit. You and Solomon would hang out quite often and you actually started to like him. You noticed how small things changed about him when he was interacting with the demons for example how his smile seemed more forced when he was around them. You were quite perceptive and noticed that it was a facade and that he seemed very lonely.
How it started:
luke asked you to come to the puragtory hall and bake some sweets with him. You both where having fun in the kitchen, and didnt notice solomon entering the kitchen. Solomon wanted to help and Luke got so pale and looked terified. You didnt know what was going on but you got concerend about lukes behavoir, you took luke aside and asked him what was wrong. Expecting something lifethreatening. You chuckled when luke told you Solomons cooking was so bad it could melt iron. "How bad could it be" you would later regret that statement. You held a baking contest and you where the judge. After that day you decided to teach Solomon how to cook (without magic!) You both had a lot of fun together and suprisingliy he can boil water without magic or without him burning the kitchen down 🙂. After that he realized that he could be himself around you and he worked up the courage to ask you out.
General headcanons:
💘Solomon likes to tells you cliche dad jokes and laughes about his own jokes.
💘He loves it when you laugh at his jokes since its very rare.
💘Solomon considers himself lucky when you talk to him comfterably.
💘 He is the first to read your, stories, books, poems, everything.
💘Begs you to draw him since your the most talented artist in his eyes.
💘He loves to go to the beach with you but makes sure you dont burn (brings SPF 50 and makes sure you sit in the shade).
💘TAKE charge in the kitchen because once Solomon cooks on his own the things you’ll smell WILL be worse than boiled lamb 💀
Other possible matches: Simeon and Satan.
And Ruki Mukami
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background:
The moment you woke up in the Mukami residence you and Yui where greeted by none other than the brains of the mukami family, Ruki. He was holding a book. You as the bookworm that you are pointed at the book and told him “I don’t really like it, the characters were all flat, and the kids were shamed for hating their abusive parents.” You gasped  at your own words you where kidnapped and your concern was the damn book. Your thoughts where interrupted by Ruki’s calm soothing voice “you have quite good taste for livestock that is.” He lifted his eyebrow and smirked at you. He was intrigued by you.
How it started:
After living in the manor for a week you noticed how Yui was already getting her blood sucked while you hid in the library and looked for all your favorite books. You where interrupted by a deep and soothing voice “If you want I can give you a few recommendations, I have noticed that we have similar taste in books.” You agreed since were scared of rejecting him and oddly enough he was kind of...nice to you. (I mean if we compare it to the way he treats Yui komori). After every recommendation he came to your room and asked you questions to test you. So he could tell whether you read it or not. He also asked your opinion on it and sometimes the two of you where debating for hours. After one of your book-debates you asked him if you could help him with the cooking since you enjoyed doing it and he accepted your offer. You two had a lot of fun cooking in a comfortable silence. “I write a little bit myself.” You said to break the silence “oh really” you could hear that he was smiling. “Do you mind if I read some of your work” he asked looking in your direction, you nodded and smiled to yourself.
General headcanons:
💘Since Ruki is the oldest of his brothers he as taken a parental role, he always makes sure you comfortable, well fed, he will also help you with your chores and homework (he's the brain of the family for a reason!)
💘The dates that Ruki prefers are indoors where it's quiet, he doesnt really like crowded places.
💘He loves how you calm him down just by being near him.
💘You two cook and bake alot together, there are 6 mouths to feed after all. But you don't mind.
💘Ruki sometimes rants about how hard Karlheinz is on him and his brother with the whole Adem-And-Eve-Plan. He also shares his history with you (He always end up in tears and you have to comfort him).
Other possible match: Shu Sakamaki
Ps: I would appreciate it if you would reblog this, and I hope you've enjoyed reading this <3

long before cp2077 was the main source of brainrot- metal gear solid was the main source. I picked up mgs as a series when I was at university in my second year and then would not stop talking about it to my friends (one of which played the games when they came out!!).
the art of yoji shinkawa (see his work below) becoming a source of inspo to my drawing / painting practice (it may not look like it at times -but- it's there- a lot of my old worl had very paintily lines- using a ink brush in procreate ect! maybe i will post some old art one day )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(...there was also a point where I was doing weird perfomance art where I just stuck a cardboard box on my head and called it a day- hrrng.,.. just a box?!) oh.. how i miss being a student <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUT ANYWAY!!! MGS2 is my fave in the series- this is due to the character design- the character design altered my brain chemisty in the best way-- the art design- colours/mood- the greens the blues- also the soundtrack- ugh it's so good. (i also had/still have the biggest crush on solid snake- husband time... also olga gurlukovich.. my dear wife ugh she she her)
OH MY GOD WAIT- WAIT- another thing about mgs 2 and it's character design- THEY GAVE OLGA BODY HAIR- yes, i know thats quite a random thing to say, but, I feel like for the time the game being released- it was progressive(?) like- in games even today- most women are like - super models ? idk how to word but- it was so empowering to see Olga like that- she is an icon and i feel empowered when i see her! <3

2. MASS EFFECT 3 (2012)
The mass effect trilogy is a series thats so close to my heart- I picked the games up during the tranistion period between covid lockdowns and coming out of lockdown.graduating from uni- finding a job- screaming to the void- yknow- adulting- no more being a art student-UGH !!
a friend of mine from uni gave me the og ps3 box set at christmas 2020 (because i only had a ps3 at the time)... for me to play over christmas between term one and term two of my final year of uni... gaming got me thru a lot of hard times then-... actually skipped me1 because it was clunky and made me want to cry- went straight to me2 (after reading all the lore of me1) and then went into me3 blind.. god i was not ready - cried my heart out so much
Mass effect 3 is my fave in the trilogy because of the characters! also like with mgs 2- the soudtrack! also also! being able to create shepard to look how I wanted her to look- YES VERY GOOD-VERY NICE! I loved playing the whole trilogy- but ME3 has a place in my heart for real. - the build up to it- the feeling of impending doom - trying to get all your squad to trust shep- the citadel dlc!!! aaAHHHHH LOVE <33
EDI is my best girl- my best girl indeed!!! I see a lot of myself in her. How she grows and evolves over time0 how she learns and understands her worth. She brings me a lot of endless joy.
Tumblr media
I got to play the full trilogy when it came out as a remastered bundle. The trilogy got me through a rough few months- I had got me first "real job" and it was a hard few months- but coming home and playing mass effect brought me joy ! I do need to do a re run of the trilogy for the purposes of vp and gif making- I do miss my beloved Zachary Shepard! (some screenshots of her below! on the left- me1 vs me3!! she grows- evolves- cuts her hair and gets ready to kick reaper ass!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
fun fact: I have two mass effect art books! one of the books being a book that was only released with a game guide which came out in 2007.. the other being a big chunky book with SOOOO MUCH STUFF IN IT EE... both of which i paid for with money from my first "real job" (which i only lasted three months in- but dhdhdd it's ok-)

3. DRAGON AGE INQUISITION (2014)
DAI was THE GAME that got me into gaming/ made me realise I was a gamer. I picked up the game around the same time I picked up the mass effect trilogy- maybe a bit later.. was playing on the ps3 (and it ran like it was running on a toaster or a pottato) it froze every 20 mins and none of the character models looked any good... but i loved it still- yes I couldn't play any of the dlc at the time but it did not matter- i was having the time of my life.
In 2021 I got a pc built so I could finish parts of my degree from home (bc covid and having to stay home for my health)... my pc was powerful enough to run DAI so... yknow- I got it on pc and MY GOD- I COULD RUN IT PROPERLY AND PLAY THE DLCS !!!!! the joy of running the desent for the first time, jaws of hakkon and then big boi trespasser UGH MY HEART EXPLODED !! oh my god- playing the decent for the first time and hearing david hayters voice- i YELLED SO LOUDLY- (it was like my beloved snake was back fejhdhjdhjd) playing that dlc for the first time also felt so right- so natural- my canon inquisitor, wren having connections to dwarven heritage through her father
DAI was my first adult fandom- im not actively a part of the fandom anymore- but I met some really lovely people through it (psst @virginiabackroads and @elfishtales i am looking at you <3 ) I recently got back into Dragon age by making an AU for my best girl, Viridian (... in this au she is called Viri lavellan.. or just viri!) (psst @fereldanwench im still foreveer greatful you pointed me in the right direction for modding the game!!)
Tumblr media
4. FALLOUT 4 (2015)
now.. this is a game I have yet to finish- but- I am having SO much fun !! The post nucelar setting is interesting- i'm still trying to learn the game mechanics- but it's exciting and cosy (even if i do scream when a feral ghoul comes out of nowhere and bites me!)
100% loving nick valentine- ugh I wish he were romancable... he has so much charm, like an actor in the golden age of cinema <3 I don't have a lot more to say about fallout 4, but this game is bringing me a lot of joy!! looking forward to more adventures and more modding soon!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. CYBERPUNK 2077 (2020)
y'all knew this was coming >:) cp2077 my beloved!!!!!! yes, the game may still be broken and glitchy and there are so many things the game could do better in areas- BUT STILL- the joy this game has given me- the friends i've made though posting about the game-- everyone is so lovely!!
the oc's ive created (...viridian and rasmus- i am looking at you both) Viridian brings me confidence- (...rammbled about that here).. THE BLORBOS I'VE GOTTEN (JACKIE WELLES MY BABEEEEEEEEEEEE) - !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ugh buying cp2077 was one of the best things I did in 2022! also being brave and choosing to posting cp2077 vp on here last october/november was another best choice I did in 2022.
the words are going but- oh goodness this game and the world building- the soudtrack- the level of detail!!! cp2077 as a game changed my brain chemisty in ways- but in the good way. opening my eyes to the world of virtual photography- video game modding. it got me back into writing as well <3 Thank you all for all the love and support within the fandom space- I feel like im home <3

The pond where our story started (can we continue?)
Notes: This is my longest work to date, it’s also my 2000th post!! I had a lot of fun writing this, I had an idea of Kenric and Oralie both feeding ducks at a pond in September, and wanted to do a drawing for it when I got an idea to write this instead. I really wanted to focus on putting more descriptors, as well as not scaring myself with writing long fics like I usually do, and I think I succeeded, also I spell checked it but I might've missed a few since the majority of this fic was written before I went to bed because that's when I got ideas for it, I hope you enjoy reading it!
Characters: Kenric, Oralie, (Oralie’s mom is in a couple of scenes)
Words: 6338 words
“C'mon dear it's time to go home!” Oralie heard her mother call
“Coming just give me one second!” Oralie responds back throwing one last handful of birdseed to the ducks but in her haste to stand up she knocked her bag into the water. Her mother appeared behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder
“We'll get a new one this Atlantis and I'll help you re-do you're homework,” she wrapped an arm around Oralie's shoulder holding her pathfinder to the sky, so bright Oralie had to squint when looking into it, “now c'mon it's getting late we should get home.” Oralie nodded and glittered into the light with her mother.
It was Monday morning at Foxfire, she shut her locker holding all her books. Elwin had chosen the flavor for the lockers and she did not want to taste that again
“Ahh!” She tripped over her feet, behind her locker was a boy with vivid red hair, Kenric Fathdon, her academic rival.
“Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.” He said helping her up. The two weren't exactly friends so she asked the question that was on her mind
“What are you doing behind my locker?” He held out a bag
“I was at a pond this weekend with my family and my cousin fished it out of the water when he and my brother where playing tag. I recognized your families crest.” He pointed to where it was on her bag.
“Oh, thank you I appreciate it.”
“No problem, it's what I would want somebody to do for me if I lost my bag and they found it.” Just then the bell rang, Oralie nodded at him slinging her bag over her shoulder
“Well, I guess I'll see you around Kenric.” He waved as she walked away
“See you Ora!”
She didn't see Kenric for a while after that, well she saw him in the hallway, but they didn't have a conversation beyond a friendly greeting. Though she did see him at the pond and they would silently feed the ducks birdseed together, though no words were exchanged. That was until the summer before the elite levels.
They had both been out and where enjoying the quite silence, Oralie studying, and Kenric reading that they didn't realize that there was a storm until Oralie saw a drop land on the lake out of the corners of her eye. She looked up and saw the sky was a deep, dark, gray. It looked like what she imagined the void where conjurers stored things looked like. She turned to look at Kenric and just as they locked eyes rain started pouring out of the clouds. In an instant she and Kenric where on their feet as they ran for the forest, where they hoped that the trees would at least provide some cover. It didn't. The leaves were just thin enough that the water could still race through the leaves to the ground, like droplets on car windows. At least this time Oralie didn't drop her bag into the pond, not that it made a difference it was just as if not more soaked than it had been all those years ago. Kenric moved to go deeper into the forest
“C'mon the leaves are thicker deeper in the woods.”
“Why don't we just leap away?” Kenric didn't respond he just held his pathfinder up to the light, and it casted no path.
“The light isn't strong enough, we'll have to wait till this storm clears up. Trust me I've grown up in these woods, my parents taught me what to do in case there was a storm.” Oralie nodded following him.
After what felt like hours, though that probably had to do with her high heels that kept sinking into to the ground making every step feel like ten, Kenric stopped and waved his arms around like a magician.
“Welcome to my family's cabin,” He turned and smiled at her before continuing “we can bunk here for tonight and leap in the morning.” Oralie nodded, she had already texted her parents and told them what had happened so that they wouldn't be worried about her.
“So what do we do know?” she asked, noticing how he was looking around the area like he was searching for something.
“There's some food inside that we can heat up, but all the firewood would be soaked by now.” Oralie nodded looking around before her gaze found a tree that was so huge around the base, and stretched high in the sky looking like it could give the clouds a high-five with its leaves if it wished. And its leaves-the leaves where the most beautiful she had ever seen with a myriad of colors blending into a majestic ombré. The best part was that leaves where so thick with how age and since leaves hadn't started to fall yet that little to no water got onto the sticks lying below. Oralie turned to Kenric
“I have a plan,” she waited for him to look at her “you go inside and find a match or something of the like to light a fire, and the food, while I find some dry wood.” He nodded looking up at the sky, which could barley be seen, and yet the rain persisted through the gaps except on the thickest trees, he nodded
“Good luck Ora, I don't think anything could not get soaked in this weather,” he turned to go to the cabin but stopped and turned “Wait, I'll take you're bag inside so that it doesn't get more soaked, and maybe dry off a little bit, also,” he unbuttoned his cloak and held it out to her “I noticed you didn't have yours and you're going to be the one out in this rain so here you go.” She took the cloak from him, and handed him her bag, the same one he saved from the pond all those years ago.
“Thank you,” she told him fumbling with the clasp, she always had trouble with them it's why she preferred not to wear them, he pinned the cloak for her. They locked eyes for a minute, and it was like something straight out of a fantasy novel, the sun even seemed to brighten, until Kenric stepped back avoiding her gaze, clearing his throat, cheeks flushed pink
“No problem.” She swore that when she felt his emotions she could almost sens- nope shutting that thought down. She pointed over her shoulder ignoring how good he looked, how did she not notice before
“Well I better,” he nodded
“Oh, yeah and I better try to find the matches, and food, and stuff, it's been a while since we've stayed here so need to make sure the animals didn't get in.” She nodded, and they both turned and went to their job. As Oralie collected the dry firewood she could still feel how pink her cheeks where, did she like Kenric? That's ridiculous they were rivals, they were always trying to one up each other in class scores, but then what was that. It was like one of Kenric's novels he wrote where the two love interests kiss. She shook her head, how was she supposed to get the dry firewood to the cabin without it getting soaked? An idea suddenly popped into her head she took off the cape wrapping the fire wood in it so that the inside was against it and the already soaked outside was still facing out. Here goes nothing, she thought, time to test the water proofness of capes. She should've used that for her science project that they had to do for the science fair. She held her hand over her head like it would stop the rain, now would've been an awesome time to be a hydrokinetic. She ran to the cabin, as curious as she was on the waterproofness of capes it could wait until it wasn't protecting the only dry firewood she had seen. By the time she got to the cabin and inside she was shivering like she'd been frozen, she hadn't realized how much warmth the cape had provided until it was gone.
Kenric looked up from a small drawer with a box of matches in hand and the gnomish vegetables on the counter as she slammed the door open. She held out the bundle
“I found firewood, and it's dry.” Kenric smiled
“And I have the matches and food all we need now is to light the wood stove and we'll be good.” She nodded and moved to put the wood in the other room but Kenric shook his head and gestured for her to give him the wood, she raised an eyebrow but did. He took the cape off the wood and wrapped it around her shoulders again. “Let me handle dinner you look like you're about to become an ice cube, there are some blankets in the next room.” That sounded good to her, even with Kenric's cape she was still freezing, she went to the next room and quickly found the blankets he had been talking about, and wrapped them around her. They were warm like a hug, and soft like an animals fur. She went back into the next room and told Kenric about where she found the wood, and he talked shared stories about his cousins, younger brothers and his baby sister who had been born on the last day of Foxfire.
“She'll celebrate both graduating a level, and her birthday.” Oralie remarked, in return Oralie told him about her older sister, and brother. Talking about everything and nothing all night. As they lay with their heads next to each other at eye level Kenric asked
“Why do you get so serious about grades?” probably remembering when they really did act like rivals, and were not nice to each other, and Oralie yelled at him for destroying their partnered universe homework model, and he yelled at her for making them loose in physical education. She took a deep breath
“I want to be a councilor, I want to change our world for the better,” she turned her head and found Kenric staring at her, “That's why I don't date, and why I haven't even registered,” she watched him nod and as he started to look away she found the courage to say the words she'd been thinking all day “but,” his eyes snapped back to hers “I don't won't to loose what we have, I've never felt this way before.” He nodded
“Me too,” placing a hand on her cheek as they both where sitting facing each other now he asked “may I?” she nodded and they both closed their eyes as they where about to kiss the door slammed open and they both pushed each other away.
When Oralie looked up she saw that it was her older brother Aldwinn with Kenric's older cousin Aldwynn, they were roommates, yes it got confusing, and yes they took advantage of it in every way possible. Aldwinn's eyebrows were high on his face
“Are we interrupting something?” Aldwynn asked with a glance at his cousin. Both Kenric and Oralie shook their heads, protesting, pushing themselves off the floor, Kenric's face flushed bright red, and Oralie knew that hers matched. Aldwinn clapped his hands
“Well Oralie, mom and dad want you home, same with you Kenric.” He added onto the end turning to look at him. Oralie handed Kenric his cape back as they where leaving
“Here you go, thank you for letting me borrow it.” Aldwinn's eyebrows jumped even higher, and then even higher that she was afraid they were going to fly off his scalp if they went any higher when Kenric said waving his hand,
“Keep it, it looks better on you.” As they walked out Aldwinn leans in to whisper
“What was that about? Are you two finally dating took you long enough.” She shoved him playfully
“Shut up, and it's not like I can't say the same thing about you and Aldwynn.” Her brother's face turned a bright red, like he was a cartoon character. He shoved her back
“Whatever, I'll see you at home.” and with that he leaped away, Oralie gave one last wave over her shoulder before she did the same.
She was having a winnowing gala, she and Kenric didn't acknowledge or talk about what had happened that night in the cabin except for making a passing joke about it in rare occasion. Like when Oralie brought up that she was going to have a winnowing gale.
“I'm going to have a winnowing gala.” Oralie declared setting her tray at the table. Kenric didn't look up
“good morning to you too, wait I thought you wanted to be a councilor?” she nodded taking a bite of her food
“I do, but I want to see what's out there first, you know.” He nodded
“That makes sense.”
“I was also wondering if you were free Saturday to help me decorate?” He laughed before realizing she was serious
“I thought you hated my taste.”
“No I hate you're fashion and decorating sense, but I thought it would be more fun if I had a friend there.”
“You're parents pushed you into this didn't they?” Kenric asked, she sighed
“They just want to make sure I'm sure, they want me to get all five match packets.” She looked away, and Kenric took her hand from across the table, running his thumb along her knuckles, he smiled when she looked at him
“Of course I'll be there Ora.” He said using the years old nickname he had for her. Then the bell rang, and Kenric took one last bite of his apple shaped fruit, and threw it away. Oralie sat there realizing she was feeling they same thing she felt when they were in the cabin.
It was Saturday now and just as promised Kenric arrived to help her decorate the banquet hall for the winnowing gala. Currently he was hanging the streamers, while Oralie set up the snack tables. She looked up to see him leaning way beyond the ladder to pin another streamer on a beam
“You're going to fall.”
“No I'm not and even if I did you would catch me.” He shot her a wink, and right on cue confirming her prediction the ladder wobbled before falling sending Kenric with it. Without thinking Oralie caught him with the help of telekinesis, the force knocking them both to the floor. Though she was still holding him bridal style. Kenric's eyes opened slowly, and met hers
“Thanks, I thought I was going to hit the floor for a minute.”
“I'd never let you hit the ground.”
It felt like the night in the cabin, the world faded away leaving only the two of them, Kenric cleared his throat pushing himself away from her, and off the floor, before offering a hand to her
“We should probably keep decorating as much as I would like to keep staring into your eyes.” He turned away and picked the ladder back up and they decorated in silence. Oralie was dissapointed, but he was right, he wasn't on any of her match lists since he had decided not to register. They would be a bad match, but the more she thought about it, she didn't mind that. Her parents would have a fit if they heard her say it, but it was true. She took a deep breath pushing all thoughts of the bright red hair boy out of her mind. It was for the best.
It was night time. Oralie was standing outside greeting the guys from her match list. Some she recognized, some she didn't, none of them were the boy she wanted to see, though she knew it was impossible for Kenric to be here. She couldn't imagine dancing with all of the people on her list when she wasn't interested in any of them. She sighed as she greeted the last person before putting on a bright smile
“Hi! Welcome I hope you enjoy the gala!” The boy laughed
“You know in another life you would've made a great actress, not that you can fool me.” As his words processed Oralie did a double take. She hadn't even recognized Kenric, his hair was done with what looked like tons of hair gel, and the nicest tunic she had seen him wear, though it still clashed with the rest of his outfit, her mouth was still hanging open as he closed it “not excited to see me?” She snapped out of it
“No! It's great to see you its just, how are you here.” He winked at her like he did that afternoon
“Well there's no laws for winnowing galas, just rules, and those are made to be broken,” He rubbed the back of his neck holding out flowers, and in a quieter voice said “and I thought it might be nicer to have a friend,” then as if regaining his confidence the red faded from his cheeks “plus are you going to deny me the opportunity for an Oralie makeover?” She took the flowers from him “That would be nice, and I would never deny the opportunity to give you a makeover.” With that she grabbed his hand and they snuck upstairs, carefully avoiding everyone else. She helped him redo his hair, she was right, he had used the entire tub of gel
“Why would you do that?” she asked, he shrugged
“My brother said too.” She raised an eyebrow and turned so that he was staring at her “which I'm now beginning to think was a prank.” She laughed
“Well I guess we'll have to prank them back.”
“I suppose we will.” forty-five minutes and a makeover later, Kenric helped her do her hair, which she had pulled into a simple pointy tail
“How do you know how to do my hair but not your own?” Oralie asked looking into the mirror
“I help my little sister with her hair, I'm better at longer hair than short hair.”
“Than why don't you grow you're hair out?” He looked at the mirror meeting her gaze
“I never thought about that, I think I will,” he finished the braid “and we're done! What do you think?” Oralie touched her hair
“I love it!”
“Well you have your specialty, and I have mine.” He said, and she laughed
“We should do this before every party, I'll do the outfits, and you do hair.” He nodded
“I'd like that, it's better than getting ready by ourselves.”
“I had a question,” Kenric made a hum “what was that earlier?” he sighed and turned to face her
“Remember when I went to the kitchen to get us lushberry juice?” She nodded and he continued “Well I saw you're mom and she told me that we both want to be councilors, and we shouldn't distract each other with romance, plus we would be a bad match.” Oralie couldn't believe it, well actually she could, but she didn't focus on it right now
“Wait do you like me?” He flushed
“I know you want too be a councilor so I didn't want to say anything.” She laughed taking his face in her hands
“I like you too Kenric, I have since the day in the woods.”
“Really?”
“Really.” He took a breath before asking the question that needed addressing
“What now?”
“Well Kenric Fathdon,” their were butterflies in her stomach and she willed her hands to be steady as she took his. They were larger than hers, which made sense since he was taller than her, his hands felt warm, and right, like a puzzle snapping together. Just as she was about to ask-
“There you are Oralie!” she heard her mother before she saw her, when she looked at her, Oralie's mother wasn't looking at her but rather glaring at Kenric “what are you doing here?”
“Just leaving m'am.” Kenric said before transmitting to Oralie
I'll see you later. When he walked out the door her mother motioned for Oralie to walk with her
“Everyone is waiting for you, you can't let that boy distract you. Plus it's not like you can date any way, you'll be a bad match, as well as you both want to be councilors,” they stopped at the top of the stairs, and her mother took her hands “I don't mean to be harsh Oralie but I just want what's best for you.” Oralie nodded
“and what if Kenric is right for me?” Her mother sighed
“I would prefer if you were a good match but I would support you if that's what you truly want. I just thought you wanted to be a councilor.” Oralie nodded
“I do it's just, he's handsome and funny, and even his arrogance isn't as infuriating as it once was.” Her mother nodded squeezing her hands
“I understand, just try for me won't you?” Oralie nodded
“Ok.”
“Ok,” her mother repeated “thank you Oralie, now go get them.” Oralie nodded and descended the staircase wishing Kenric was descending with her.
The party was over and just as Oralie predicted she didn't like any of her matches, they were nice, and she would want to be friends, but not romantically involved. Oralie's mom put an arm around her shoulders giving her a one arm squeeze,
“Thank you for trying,” she looked over her shoulder and smiled, kissing Oralie's forehead “it looks like you have a visitor, don't stay up to late you two.” and with that she swept up the stairs, Oralie turned around and saw Kenric
“Hey Ora.”
“Hey.” Kenric looked around
“We should probably clean up shouldn't we.” Oralie nodded tossing him a broom
“Help me sweep?”
“Person with the smallest pile looses!” He declares
“Oh you're so on!”
They sweep, until all the trash has been collected into two even piles
“I think I won.” Kenric declared playfully, Oralie shook her head
“I think it was a tie.” Kenric laughed
“Are you sure?” Oralie laughed with him but stopped after a few seconds looking sadly around the room that had been full of music, noise and dancing just a few hours ago. Kenric gave her a one armed hugged hesitantly
“Hey, I'm no empath, but what's wrong?”
“It's not important.” She said looking away, he placed a hand on her cheek and she could feel his emotions love, happiness, and concern
“It seems like it is, what's wrong?” She sighed
“I just wish I could’ve danced with you, I had to dance with all the people I didn't and not the one I did.” Kenric let go of her hand and took her hand
“Who says we can't dance now?”
“But there's no music?” He used telekinesis and put a CD in the radio, human music softly played throughout the room
“Trust me.” he said, starting to lead her through a slow dance, at first it was awkward, she stepped on his feet, they almost tripped over the piles of trash in the room, but soon they fell into a rhythm. Oralie had dance partners before, she danced with hundreds people that night, but Kenric was better than all of them, it was like another piece of the puzzle fell into place. They could have been dancing for three minutes or three hours it didn't matter, as the CD winded down, they still danced even when it stopped. Her arms were around his neck and his arms were around her waist, their foreheads were pressed together
“Thank you.” Oralie said softly, their was only the two of them in the universe
“For what?” he asked in the same soft tone
“For this dance, it's the most amazing I've had all night.”
“I'm glad, considering I've never danced before.”
“You haven't?” Oralie asked unable to keep the surprise out of her voice
“Nope, just made it up as I went.”
“Well it was still amazing.”
They stayed that way for the rest of the night just swaying around the room foreheads together talking softly about everything, not a care in the world, not even that they were going to be exhausted the next morning.
Oralie thought that things would be different this time from the cabin but they didn't talk about her winnowing gala either. By the time blinked she had gotten all five of her match packets and had all her winnowing galas. Kenric's name had not been on a single one of them. Once the elite levels started the two drifted apart, with all the homework, and internships they barley had time to themselves. When they did it was never at the same time. It was like the universe was trying to keep them apart. Speaking of which she had to get to the universe, she grabbed her bag and ran out the door.
After class was over she had her government class, when she arrived she was surprised to see Kenric standing there as well
“Ah, Miss Oralie it's a pleasure to see you. I trust you know Kenric Fathdon.” She nodded slowly, setting her bag in the corner. She was confused usually classes were one on one except for physical education. The professor clapped his hands, he was an older man his ears were starting to form points, he had silver hair with blond roots showing, and glasses. “As I was telling Mr. Fathdon over here, as you two are about to graduate and you both are in consideration for the opening in the council,” Oralie's eyebrows shot up at that news, this was the first she was hearing about it
“If you wish to sign up here is the packet that you will need to fill out.” Oralie and Kenric nodded
“Thank you sir.”
“Yes, thank you sir.”
“You're welcome.” the teacher said and Oralie and Kenric walked out of his office.
“Do you want to hang out while we fill out the packets?” Oralie asked as they walked up the stairs to the dorms. Kenric didn't say anything, and when she turned to look at him he had stopped walking and was staring at her
"What?" Oralie asks staring at his face, he laughs
"You're joking right." When she doesn't join in and just glares at him he stops "wait, you don't really think you have a shot right?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Well everyone knows that empaths are just lie detectors and they already have one on the council, so they'll obviously go for the telepath." He said with an arrogant air about him, she had forgotten how annoying it could be. She also didn't think that Kenric was someone who looked down on others for their abilities
"You just wait Kenric Fathdon, I'll be a better councilor than you could ever dream of being."
"Yeah right.” He told her and after a long moment added, “well I guess that's it than huh."
"Yeah I guess it is." And without hesitation she turned and stomped back up to her room so angry that even someone who wasn't an empath could feel it.
Back at home after she finished retelling the story she turned to her mother who was sitting at the counter sipping a cup of coffee. She threw her hands in the air
"I mean can you believe him I never would've thought that he would be someone who judges what others can do based off of ability. I've gotten top marks on all my tests and am top of the class." The anger slowly started to fade, disappointment replacing it as she sat down in one of the chairs at the counter "what am I supposed to do now mom?" She heard her mom set down her ceramic mug, and her take a deep breath
"Look at me Oralie," she waited until Oralie did to continue "I think that you should apply." Oralie was surprised her mother had always supported her dreams, but she wanted her to be an emissary like her.
"But, before you said," her voice fades out as her mom said
"I know but I see now you have the passion, and the fire to change our world for the better, and you shouldn't let anyone convince you otherwise. You are so much more than a lie detector, than just an empath. You are Oralie, and I know even if you don't get elected this time you will in the future." Oralie smiled making up her mind
"Thanks mom, I know what I'm going to do now."
She went to the pond. It was a risky move considering Kenric might be there but she wasn't going to let him drive her away from where she always went to think. She grabbed the packet from her satchel, then made sure it was secure. No one would fish her bag out of the pond this time. She opened up the packet and the first three pages where surprisingly familiar to when she filled out her matchmaking packet. Age, name, when her birthday was, what she wanted to do, what her values where. Although the packet didn't have any of the romantic stuff the matchmaking one had which made sense. When she got to the last question she saw what it was, what is your ability? Without hesitation she wrote in empath never being prouder, she could care less what people thought about her talent she would prove the wrong. The last page of the packet was the rules of the councilors
I swear that if I become a councilor I will not marry nor have children, to make sure I can rule unbiased. I swear to do everything I can to help my people, I will rule because it's right and not for the fame and above all I will do everything I can to make sure the lost cities will prosper.
She read it what must've been a hundred times to make sure she was hundred and ten percent certain of what she was agreeing to before she signed her name. The next Monday she turned the packet into the same teacher that had given it to her and Kenric. As she placed it in his hand before he took it he asked
"Are you sure?" And with no hesitation or tremble in her voice she said
"Yes." He nodded taking the thick packet, he needed two hands to hold it.
"I just wanted to be sure because once they're handed in theirs no turning back." She nodded once more
"I am completely certain." The teacher nodded
"I will send you and Mr. Fathdon's packets in right away." Oralie gave a slight curtsy
"Thank you sir." She had never felt more sure of anything in her life, this is what she had always wanted, she pushed down the small part of her that was still in love with Kenric and walked out of the room, her mind made up, she was going to do everything to help her world.
Oralie was reading a novel and drinking a glass of juice before retiring to bed when she heard a knock at the door. Putting the book down but keeping her glass in hand she opened the door
“Councilor Kenric, for what do I owe the pleasure?” He fidgeted with the edge of his shirt like he used to do when they were younger, she closed her eyes and shut down the thought
“Um, may I come in?” He asked, she opened up the door wider
“Come in.” He nodded, and followed her to her sitting room. She sat in her chair that she had been reading in before gesturing for him to take a seat and asked
“What do you need?” Oralie asked cutting straight to the chase
“I wanted to clear the air. I'm sure you're wondering what took so long for you to get elected,” She nodded she had always wondered, because as far as she knew she was the only empath up for consideration. He sat up taller in the chair before continuing, “I'm the reason.”
“Why?”
“I can't tell you that.” He said, and she scoffed
“and why's that.”
“Because it's classified.”
“Well isn't that convenient.” she said, as he went to say something she held up her hand “I don't want to here it just leave, you know where the door is.” He pushed himself up from the chair and with no other words walked out. Tears burned Oralie's eyes, she felt like she'd been betrayed she and Kenric argued often, but she never thought he would go that far. She wiped the tears from her eyes refusing to cry over him. It didn't matter what was done was done, she couldn't change the past, but she would change the future with or without Kenric's support. She drank the rest of her juice, and went to put her novel away when she noticed that the page it was open too was of the two lovers getting a happy ending after everything. It had been a finals gift from Kenric when they were in level three after he had noticed her looking over his shoulder in his families cabin as he read. It was crazy how a couple years could change people's perception.
Years later Oralie sat at the pond, she and Kenric had finally made up and talked things through about two years ago and had slowly becoming closer like they were when they were younger. Oralie was tossing birdseed to the ducks, it was a nice spring day, she could hear the birds chirping in the trees and the creaking of the boards on the dock as Kenric walked up and sat next to her. He put his head on her shoulder, and she reached one arm up to play with his hair.
“Long day?” She asked he nodded
“Troll, goblin, ogre negotiations are the worst, they all want to kill each other.” She nodded sympathetically and kissed him on the forehead,
“I love you.” she whispered her head on his
“I love you too.” He smiled up at her. Out here they could just be, the rest of the council turned a blind eye since no one knew about this spot but them. According to Bronte
“At least they aren't still squabbling like school children anymore.” Suddenly Kenric perks up
“I almost forgot I have a surprise for you!” she raised her eyebrows
“What is it?” He offered a hand up
“I can't tell you silly, otherwise it won't be a surprise anymore.”  he placed his hand in hers “just trust me, you'll love it.” She nodded and followed him as he led her deeper into the woods they didn't talk but she listened to the symphony called nature, the birds, the slight breeze whistling, the sound of the leaves and sticks under their feet. As she looked around she realized she was starting to recognize their surroundings like the tree she found the firewood under the summer before the elite levels. Just then Kenric stopped sweeping his arm across a bush, gently pushing away the branches to reveal a clearing with a rebuilt cottage. As she stepped into the clearing Kenric followed behind her. Her hands came up to cover her mouth and she pointed at the cottage
“Did you rebuild the cottage?” Kenric hugged her from behind resting his head on her shoulder
“Do you like it?” She spun around in the hug and hugged him back
“I love it!” The cottage was still a light blue but it had been fixed up, a reminder of their childhood when they would study together, and play base quest with the rest of their friends. Kenric nudged her arm
“I can't wait for you to see the inside.” She let go of the hug and walked to the door with him behind her. She looked inside and felt around for the light switch for a minute before finding it when she turned it on she saw the cabin had been redone. The counter, benches, and the rest of the furniture had been fixed up. There was a new bookshelf stocked with romance novels that both Oralie and Kenric loved to read. As well as soft blankets they had found when they went to the human world, she had wondered where they had gone. In the middle of the floor was a large red and white checkered with a picnic basket on top. Oralie turned to Kenric who was leaning against the door frame
“Is this your secret project?” He nodded hesitantly
“Do you like it?” She nodded
“I love it it's amazing!” He took her hand and led her to the blanket, and they both sat down. Oralie's dress flared out beneath her. He opened the picnic basket pulling out their favorite foods, mallowmelt, porcaroot pie, pudding puffs, and cinnacreme as the beverage. They were all perfect, she looked at him as she bit into the porcaroot pie, the sweet, smoky flavor mixing with the creamy texture for perfection.
“Did you make this?” she asked and he smiled
“Yeah, I wanted to do something special for you.”
“Any particular reason?”
“Today marks the ten year anniversary of you being a councilor.” She smiled
“You remembered.” He brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear
“Of course I did.” His hand lingered on his face, and their eyes locked like they did all those years ago during the storm
“May I?” and with no one to interrupt the kiss this time she nodded they both leaned in and it was as magical as the stories had always described, and finally the puzzle of Oralie's life felt right, like a song settling in her heart. She wished that she could tell the little girl she used to be that everything would be okay, and she get a storybook ending like she'd read about. Even if it did involve minor treason. Everything was perfect.

✨️ Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?
someone bookmarked one of my fics with "anything you write is my favorite" which im unable to ever be normal about. i also really like all the comments on royal red & ocean blue chapter 5 bc it's such a fun chapter, someone thanked the inventors of snow, kendo, and thermal underwear, another person quoted 'you should be addicted to shutting the fuck up' which made me feel like i nailed the dynamic. and ofc the dream syncing comment section is full of gems and thank YOU specifically for calling it sexy i didn't know how it would land lol
i savor every comment. genuinely
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
uhhh so listen... idk about rymin but you can have some zukka. this is from the incomplete and very long rrob ch10 "the king of karaoke" a very (purposefully) awkward coming out scene:
Zuko scans the room and quirks a brow. "So this is your Ba Sing Se crowd?" There's a waver in his voice that belies his casual tone. Sokka follows his eye line to see what has him thrown off balance.
Zuko's looking at two girls making out at the foot of the stage, but drops his gaze when he realizes Sokka's followed in his direction.
Sokka's body stills, but he points a sharp glare at Zuko. "Yes," he says, voice dripping with challenge. "Is that an issue, your highness?" He doesn't care that it's factually inaccurate, he just wants Zuko to hear how much of an ass he's being.
Zuko blinks at him, then stumbles through a fervent, tipsy head shake. "No," he says as his cheeks color from more than just the alcohol. "I thought it might be for you, for some reason." He spins his pointer finger as if trying to rewinding time. "I don't know why, though. In retrospect," he adds with a nervous chuckle as he looks anywhere but at Sokka. He had been looking at Sokka the entire night, like he'd been Zuko's refuge in all this chaos, and the absence of his gaze is jarring. "Anyway..."
Zuko is interesting to be around. He's easy to read, most of the time, but where the emotions stem from is still a complicated puzzle Sokka has yet to piece together. He's got a competitive streak, at least where Sokka is concerned, as evidenced by them always trying to one-up each  other at banter or dumb games. And there's this feeling Sokka gets around him that he can’t place, electric yet gentle. It draws him in; it’s something to solve.
Sometimes, though. Sometimes he's just confusing.
"What?" Sokka asks. He wonders if they can ever have a clear conversation when liquor is involved.
“Sokka,” Zuko starts. Stops. He ruffles his hair, hides his head in his arms folded on the table, emerges again. He doesn’t quite meet Sokka’s eye. “I’m gay.”
“Oh,” Sokka says. His too-loud heartbeat is drowning out any coherent thoughts.
Zuko still isn’t looking at him.
“That’s awesome,” Sokka says. “I mean, that’s cool.” He wants to dunk his burning face in cold water. “Good for you.”
As he says it, Zuko is stumbling over his own words. “So I wasn’t, you know — I didn’t mean it like that.”
“No, I get that now,” Sokka says. He recovers from his shock and remembers himself. “Thanks for telling me. I mean, for trusting me enough to tell me that. Yeah.” Okay, so not completely recovered, but still.
Zuko releases a long-held breath. When at last he returns Sokka’s gaze, the harsh red laser lights of the club are filtered to a soft pink in his amber irises. There’s a moment of acknowledgment before he blinks back down to where his fingers are tearing apart a napkin and he’s guarded again.
“I almost told you before,” he says. “At the festival.”
Sokka thinks back to that moment. He winces, remembering how much he had assumed — not only about Zuko, but about Mai, too. Sure, he’s accepting in theory. But in practice? Maybe he has a lot more to work out than he thinks.
“Shit,” Sokka says. “I’m so dumb.” This time he’s the one avoiding eye contact. “You were trying to tell me and I didn’t get it—”
“I backed out.”
“And I was just going on about girls. Not even thinking—”
“I thought you would hate me again.”
Sokka’s mouth and heart sputter to a stop.
“Not that I had any reason to think you’d have a problem with it,” Zuko says, waving it off and fumbling through his words before Sokka can respond. “Obviously you wouldn’t.” It doesn’t sound as confident as Zuko likely thinks he does. “It’s just… We had finally started talking. I thought it might be different enough to throw things off balance again.”
Zuko’s attention is devoted entirely to the bits of napkin in his grip.
Sokka pushes past the dull pulse in his ears. “Hey. Zuko.”
Zuko glances back up.
Sokka’s reach is slow as he gauges Zuko’s reaction. With no sign of resistance, he places his hands on Zuko’s shoulders. Zuko relaxes at the touch, so Sokka treads further and pulls him into an uncertain hug. Almost immediately, nervousness shifts into warmth, until he's more comfortable in Zuko's arms than he'd been outside them. Sokka isn’t sure how long it lasts. He isn’t sure he cares.
“I like learning more about you,” he says as they draw apart.
Zuko’s light smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
i used to treat writing so preciously and i was pretentious about it, if i wasn't shakespeare then what was the point. i still have perfectionism issues, but at least i get stuck on WIPs i have actual words down on instead of consuming every writing tip video on youtube and fantasizing. i used to not write fanfic bc i wanted the first thing i ever wrote to be "the novel of my heart" or whatever the fuck. and if i DID write a fic i wanted it to be a big multichap cornerstone of the fandom, which is the mindset i started rrob in LMAO. i would wonder why i was so much better at drawing than writing when writing was what i really CARED about. im not afraid to doodle only for myself, im not afraid to abandon drawings, im not afraid to put pencil on paper and START. every time i apply that lesson to writing it helps, but it's still hard for me to keep in practice.

could i get this for the chronicals of narnia pls? xx and/or harry potter (preferably marauders' era <33)
i'm an enfp and a ravenclaw. my zodiac signs are sagittarius sun, virgo moon and leo rising. i'm 5''3 with auburn curly hair and a petite (i think??) hourglass figure. i have dark bluey/green eyes & freckles all year round<3
i like to dress alt, with maybe a little cottagecore. my go-to outfits are usually things like baggy jeans, tight crop tops & leather jackets. i also like floral dresses & long skirts <3 i have adhd so i can't really wear certain stuff because of sensory issues.
i would describe myself as observant, fun, genuine, intuitive and witty. i'm an introverted extrovert & need a lot of breaks from people. i can be pretty anxious about things most people find ok, but i'd say i'm pretty good at handling those moments. i prefer talking to listening - although i love asking people questions abt themselves & getting to know their dreams. i'd say i'm an idealist but i also have realist aspects & have a pretty sarcastic sense of humour i'm also a massive hopeless romantic and my love language is quality time - and sometimes physical touch.
i like old cities, anything vintage, astrology, reading, spotify playlists, baking, psychology, 90s/2000s romcoms and greek myths. my favourite season is the autumn (although i think my personality has more of a spring vibe) & i love it when it rains. i like 60s-80s music - the beatles, david bowie, Fleetwood mac & a couple of the smiths songs - and my favourite movie is when harry met sally
Oh my god I’m so sorry this took me forever. But thank you so much for the request!
***
Chronicles of Narnia
I match you with Edmund Pevensie!
I saw that you said your sense of humor was sarcastic and that sealed the deal for me. He loves your sarcasm, but his siblings get annoyed sometimes at how you and Ed will attack them with sarcasm just for fun. Other than that, your and extroverted introvert? He can relate. I wouldn’t say he’s an extroverted introvert himself, just an introvert. However, he can relate to the needing alone time part, so he’s really understanding when you wanna be alone. I think his love language would be quality time too. In a setting where you two are comfortable and alone so y’all can just talk. Or in a setting where you two are thrilled on a great adventure. Edmund just loves that he’s with you. You mentioned liking Greek mythology, and Edmund strikes me as the guy who had a Greek mythology phase is middle school. I know middle school isn’t a thing in the UK bit shhh. Other than your similarities, your differences also bring the best in each other, I think. You said your an idealist, and I think Edmund is a pessimist. He helps you see reason, and you help him have more open-minded thoughts. You said your personality is like spring, and I think his is like autumn.
Harry Potter (Marauders era)
I match you with James Potter!
You say that your idealistic and fun, and that describes James very well, I think. Your wit is what draws him to you, I think. He likes someone who bounces off of his sarcasm and jokes really well. I think he’s most definitely an extrovert, so he has trouble understanding how you feel about alone time, but he doesn’t let that stop him from treating your feelings with respect. He wants you to know that you never have to feel bad for requesting alone time. James puts a lot of emphasis on trust in a relationship, so expect to always be asked if everything’s okay or if there’s something you’d like to tell him. Also, he’s a hopeless romantic, just like you. I just know that he is. You talk about having anxiety, and I think that James can’t really relate, but like I said, he values trust. So he wants you to be able to trust that he will do his very best to make sure your calm and comfortable.
I hope you liked the matchup!

Hi! This is for the Pokemon SwSh matchup trade! Here’s my description, I’ll get started on yours asap!
I’m 20 years old with Autism, ADHD and a couple other health issues like weak bones and scoliosis. I’m really short, only like 5’ at most, with really long fluffy and wavy brown hair. My two favorite hairstyles to do are either a legolas-style pulled back half ponytail (I don’t know how to describe it…) or two braids, or else I just leave my hair down naturally. I also wear glasses and am very slender, and pretty toned since I work out.
I’d probably be an Electric Type trainer who also doubles as a researcher of some kind. I can see myself working as a professor’s assistant or as a librarian in their lab since I work at a library irl.
I’m a really fun person with a witty and sometimes dirty sense of humor, though I’m also very sweet and polite. I enjoy drawing and cannot stop writing for the life of me. And I write really fast too, I once finished an entire nonfiction book in a week on vacation. My entire life is on fastforward a lot of the time because I can be impatient and am incredibly driven, so I often push myself a little too hard sometimes. I get flustered easily but don’t have a hard time connecting with people, I’m really not afraid to go up to others and ask for things. Whenever I do get flustered I tend to cover my face with my hands and giggle a lot. I also have a weird habit of calling people endearments like “honey” and “sweetie” at random.
My friends say I have a very warm, inviting energy that draws people in. I’m the kind of person who can quite literally make friends with anybody. I’ve been told I feel like home and am very endearing. I would do anything for my loved ones, even recklessly sacrificing myself or my happiness for them. It’s hard for me to put myself first most of the time. I hate making people feel bad and really just want to be helpful a lot of the time. I’m also always a little overprepared for every situation and have a hard time accepting and believing compliments.
I’m very soft but have been called argumentative before. Like I said I hate making people feel bad, but once you’ve lost my trust, it’s insanely hard to get it back. And if you insult someone I care about, there’s no mercy tbh. So sweet, but fierce when provoked.
Thank you so so much!! I hope you have a wonderful day, take care of yourself! Stay hydrated and have a good week sweetie! (Also sorry this was so long ;-;)
I like your vibes! I match you with.....
GORDIE♡

Here's my description for the Matchup trade! Love you boo 😘
We probably met because I helped him study or we met at a local D&D store I was working at, just as an idea :)
I'm 19 years old, biromantic asexual (though demisexual for Eddie lol) with Autism and ADHD
Currently studying to become a TV and Cartoon writer. But in the 80s I would've probably been a writer for science fiction/fantasy magazines or something
I get nervous really easily but once you play D&D or talk about shared interests with me, I become super excitable and open. I tell amazing stories because I have so many weird ones
I'm blunt and forward but blushy about it, and really good at making funny comments
I'm also really good at giving advice according to others. But that doesn't mean I'm good at following it lmao
My love language is physical touch
Hobbies include Tarot Reading, Drawing, Writing, Researching and Dungeons & Dragons
I have wild wavy brown hair, glasses, a slender and toned build and lots of moles
I'm 4' 11" tall, so I'd barely come up to his shoulder. I'm canonically shorter than Dustin
And here's the height difference between me and Eddie btw :)
Tumblr media

I headcanon Eddie as being bisexual so when he learn that you are too, he is so happy!!
He prefer to keep it just between the both of you. He wouldn't want you to get harassed or bullied. He doesn't care if HE get called the freak but he refuse YOU get called like that. He is very protective!
Also, demisexual??? He doesn't get it exactly what it is but he is supportive. With a bit of explanations, he will understanding what it is a bit more and will make sure everything he do never makes you uncomfortable.
If you are ever for it, trust me, your first time with him is SO sweet. He is very patient and caring and loves you too much to hurt you and would never forgive himself if he did.
Overall 100% would love and date because this guy is an amazing, supportive and loving boyfriend.

Potent
Alpha! Hanta Sero x Fem! Omega! Reader
***18+ Fic***
If you are under the age of 18 please vacate the premises.
Warnings: A/B/O, smut, knotting, marking, breeding kink (sorta? idk it comes with the A/B/O territory), a hint of pregnancy kink, a bit of blood
Word Count: 3.6 k
Author's Note: Ohhhhkaayyy so this has been sitting in my google doc for AGES. I think I started this in...October of last year? It's been sitting there for months and I've lacked the motivation to finish and post it but then I sent in an anon ask to @reinawritesbnha and, being the absolute queen she is, she became the little push I needed to do it. I DID IT FOR REINA!!
Also, this is some of my earliest writing and I only skimmed and edited a little bit of it so if there's a little bit of weird pacing or a strange cutoff where the writing styles clash it's because I haven't touched this piece in months.
Anywho, enjoy~
*
*
*
It had to happen when you were surrounded by alphas.
Your suppressants flaked out, again, and your scent wafted through the air on the street. Normally It’d be fine for an omega to let their scent float freely around them. But your scent is particularly...potent, even when you weren’t in heat. Not only that, but you weren’t mated yet, your scent glands still bare, and you still didn’t have a pack. To make matters worse, you’re quirkless.
You hadn’t realised what was happening until your path was blocked by an especially large male alpha. You turned around, and there were two more behind you. Fuck. This isn’t good. You took in your surroundings and searched for an exit, but you couldn’t find a way out. There's no way you’d be able to outrun the three very large male alphas.
Probably the worst part is that more alphas are turning their head toward you, taking notice of your lavender honey and rain scent that slowly began turning to a sour swamp. You dared to hope that change would ward off the three cornering you, but they’d already got a whiff of you. Several distressed chirps sounded from your chest, voicing your discomfort, and you glared pointedly at the three alphas as they edged closer to you.
You hate when this happened. Why’d you have to be cursed like this? Your growls only grew, baring your little omega fangs. There’s no way in hell you’d let some stranger scent you, let alone one of these creeps. They wouldn’t take the damn hint and just crept closer to you, calling out to the ‘pretty little omega’ to ‘come have some fun’.
You’re scared now, the involuntary chirps in your chest coming more frequently. None of the other alphas or betas on the street were big enough to face the three, making you a sitting duck and a ragdoll if they wanted you to be. Your claws are small, nowhere near ideal for this situation, but you’d use them if you needed to. With a final low defiant growl you dropped your bag against the wall behind you and readied yourself for a fight.
Suddenly a large body dropped in front of you, his back to you. His scent alone hit you like a freight train, orange zest, mint, tree bark and something earthy. It had your head spinning, nearly sending you into an early heat. He growled, low and powerful, the sound rattling in your chest and making you sink further into the wall behind you. The other three alpha’s scents together were still overpowered by the new alpha before you, and they vanished faster than they appeared.
He turned around and stepped away from you, giving you space to breathe. He kneeled down enough so he was eye level with you, his hands reaching out clearly in an attempt to comfort you, but kept from touching you.
“Are you okay?” The question barely registered, still delirious from his scent, and you’re having a hard time recovering. Large hands grip your shoulders and shake you lightly, your mind beginning to clear with the soothing pheromones he’s releasing.
“Omega.” The command snapped you to attention, your gaze fixated on his own dark irises.
“Are you okay, omega?” You blink, swallow down the lump in your throat, take a deep breath.
“Yeah...I’m okay. Thank you, alpha.” But you’re not quite okay. You need to get home. Fast. The alpha seemed to catch on, probably by your scent that still hadn’t returned to normal. He stands and slips off his jacket, draping it over your shoulders and wrapping you in his scent. It’s a comforting gesture.
“Let’s get you home.” With a nod you set off, the man walking next to you with a strong, warm hand on the middle of your back.
“What’s your name?” You introduce yourself, and he does the same. His name is Sero Hanta, and now that you’re calm again, you take in just how handsome he is.
Raven hair is pulled back into a small bun, showing off his undercut and strong, sharp jawline. Onyx eyes shine with kindness and playful mischief, and a beaming grin reveals pearly white teeth. He’s incredibly toned, his muscles calmly rippling under the t-shirt that stretched over his chest. You vaguely noticed the strange shape of his elbows, but disregarded it as his quirk. The omega in you is howling, begging for this alpha, his scent invading your senses. But you suppress it quickly, reminding yourself you’d only just met this man.
As you reach your apartment you exchange phone numbers, and he tells you to keep the jacket and use it when you go out to ward off any unwanted attention. You thank him again for helping you earlier, and he waves to you as he walks down the hall and enters the elevator, the doors closing in front of his handsome smiling face.
Despite meeting him only ten minutes earlier your instincts trust the alpha, and you hold the jacket close to your face, breathing in his scent. It’s wonderful, and your inner omega is in love. You find yourself wondering when you’d see him again.
The next few days are riddled with work and calls to your doctor about the strength of your suppressants. You work from home as a secretary for a small company. It’s a miracle you’d found it, too. Nobody wants an omega, let alone a potent one. It’s an alpha’s world, you guess. When this job opening popped up you were ecstatic, so you took it and have been working from home with decent pay for the last five years.
The calls to your doctor were not going as smoothly as your job, though. You leave a message every four hours until she finally calls you back. She was concerned since the suppressants she’d prescribed are the strongest out there, and if your scent was overpowering them they were either defective or your scent glands were overproducing. It wasn’t an immediate threat to your health, it only meant you’d be drawing more attention than you wanted to. Still, it’s annoying and makes life so much harder than it needs to be.
After she prescribed twice the amount, she said she’d look over your tests from the latest visit before she hung up the phone. You groaned once the call ended. You seriously needed a break from your second gender. Taking the prescribed double dose of suppressants, you got ready to go out to the corner cafe to read and drink coffee. Hopefully the new amount will keep steady. You really don’t want to deal with any more aggressive alphas this week. For good measure you pull on Sero’s jacket, allowing his scent to cover you, then grab your keys, phone, wallet and a book and begin the walk.
When you arrive at the cafe you order a hot mocha, curl into the small corner booth and crack open the book. You got lost in the ink and your mind floated along the adventure, putting yourself in the shoes of the main character and leading the mission to take down the corrupt queen who’d framed you for killing the prince of a neighboring kingdom. You were ripped from the fantasy world when a bright, enthusiastic blonde came up and tapped you on the shoulder, making you jump. His smile was as bright as his hair.
“Sorry to scare you cutie, but I couldn’t help but notice that jacket of yours smells an awful lot like my friend Sero!” You smile softly at the blonde.
“Well if we’re talking about the same Sero Hanta, then your nose would be correct. This is his jacket.” His eyes widen as he nods.
“Oh my gosh you must be the omega he keeps talk-” The blonde’s words became muffled by a large hand. A hand that belonged to the very man you were talking about. Sero smiles apologetically down at you as he shoves the blonde back to where you assume they’re sitting.
“Sorry about Kami, he’s… extroverted.” You smile back at him, mostly because you’re happy to see him again.
“It’s no problem at all. He recognized your scent on me.” He looked down and only then realized you’re wearing his jacket, and he beams at you. Then he takes a glance at the booth you’re sitting all alone at, his smile falling just a bit.
“Do you wanna come sit with us?” You take a moment to think about the offer, then agree with a nod. Your omega couldn’t pass up more time with him.
As you approach the booth you notice there are more people with Sero than you anticipated. There were four other people sitting there. Sero introduced all of them from left to right. Bakugo Katsuki, Kirishima Eijiro, Ashido Mina, and the happy blonde from earlier is Kaminari Denki. You introduce yourself and when Sero slid into the booth, you followed after him.
These five are a tight pack, and you learn they all met in high school. Bakugo’s brash personality made you wary at first, but it didn’t take long to realize he’s just like that with everyone. He makes a bit of a snippy remark, which you easily counter, and he smirks while the rest smile or snicker. It would seem they like you.
You can’t tell what their second genders are, and you mentally kick yourself for even wondering in the first place. Their genders are none of your concern, but you can’t blame yourself when you’re constantly alert because of your own stupid second gender. As it turns out, you don’t need to wait very long to find out.
This time you smell your own scent as it permeates the air around you. You swear under your breath at the stupid suppressants that obviously can’t so their job, and the others snap their gazes to you. You sigh.
“Yeah, that scent is me. My suppressants flaked again. Sorry about that.” They all nodded, seemingly understanding. Sero must have told them about the other day. Of course, it would soon repeat. It didn’t take long for an alpha to take notice of your scent. The man -- why is it always the largest males??? -- strides up to the booth with a cocksure grin and leans down to inhale your scent. You duck away from him, into Sero, and let out an albeit small warning growl that was drowned in Sero and Kirishima’s. He ignored them all the same.
“Hey there little omega, you smell real nice. You wanna come hang with me instead? We can have some fun together with my buddies, what do you say?” The others stayed quiet. They’re going to let you defend yourself before they do anything in case they end up escalating the situation. You turn your head and lift your shoulder, hiding your scent gland.
“I’m not interested, thank you. Please leave me alone.” You hoped to whatever deity watched over you that the man would leave. Before anyone could react the alpha grabbed your wrist in a vice grip, yanking you roughly from your seat. You chirp, your scent turning sour and the entire pack abruptly stands, baring their fangs at the man. It barely registered in your head that Kirishima and Bakugo are alphas, Mina is a beta, and Kaminari is an omega, their fangs giving them away.
The man tightens his grip on your wrist and you cry out, your bones creaking under the pressure. With no other options you did the one thing that would get him to let go, and sank your fangs into his wrist. You jump back into Sero, who wraps an arm around you protectively.
“You bit me, you bitch!” He raises an arm, clearly about to try and hit you, but a large hand grabs his wrist. Surprisingly enough it’s Bakugo, and his growl is laced into his words.
“Leave now, or you lose a hand.” Sero speaks up from above you.
“You might wanna listen, amigo. That’s Dynamight.” The alpha rips his arm from Bakugo’s hold and looks down at you, and you growl at him as he scoffs and walks away, apparently not ready to fight the #2 pro hero over an omega.
You all sit back down and you pull up the sleeve of the jacket to inspect the already forming bruise on your wrist. Your nose wrinkles with a half-angry half-pained snarl. Tenderly, Sero takes your wrist and lightly squeezes the sides of your forearm, against your bones, and your lack of reaction tells him nothing’s broken. Still, he growls at the offending bruise.
“I’m gonna kill him.” You shake your head and put a hand over his.
“It’s not worth it Sero. He’s probably long gone.” You turn to the rest of the pack.
“Thank you for protecting me.” Kirishima is the first to speak.
“Of course! That dude was a jerk. I just hope he doesn’t go around doing that to other omegas.” Bakugo, surprisingly, spoke next.
“Obviously we’d protect you. You’re a potent omega and quirkless, so you attract unwanted attention without even knowing or wanting to. Besides, if you’re gonna be Sero’s omega there’s no way in hell we’d let some extra handle you like that.” The implications make your face burn, and Kirishima smacks the blonde’s arm with a ‘Don’t just say that kind of thing, Katsuki.’
After an hour or two of talking, and shockingly no other aggressive alphas, they all walk you home to your apartment. Sero wanted to check on your wrist again, so you invited them all in, but they all had something else to do, so you were left alone with Sero. The fact that the one alpha you desperately wanted to be around is alone with you in your apartment is both great and terrible. Thankfully, you have self-control and his own suppressants are working perfectly fine.
He inspected the darkening bruise on your wrist, his large hands gripping your arm tenderly and turning it gently as he prods at the skin. It doesn’t hurt too bad, so you assure him you’ll be perfectly fine. Eventually he leaves with a hug and you sigh once the door is closed, relieved that you were able to keep your omega at bay and your hands to yourself.
A couple days later you get a text from him and the two of you text often, asking how each other’s day went, if anything interesting had happened. You didn’t leave your apartment unless you needed to, since your suppressants clearly weren’t working, so you made sure to cut grocery trips short and keep away from any alphas that seemed a bit aggressive. Sero invited you to hang out with the pack at their house, and you obliged.
They lived in a huge house all together. Most of the rooms were sealed so no scents or sounds could go in or out for ruts and heats, and there were several spare rooms that were empty and waiting for more pack members. It was a fun hangout, filled with video games and good conversation, and even better food which Bakugo cooked. Sero had an arm around you whenever he was close, and you definitely didn’t mind. Your suppressants flaked in the middle, again, and Sero insisted he walk you home. With him walking you home there weren’t any alphas trying to get you this time. You ended up going over to hang out with them a lot when you weren’t working, and eventually Sero began to court you.
Obviously, you accepted, and after a few months of dating and scenting, your overactive scent glands seemed to mellow out, Sero’s scent mixing with it. Your suppressants are lasting much longer now, which is a good sign. Now that you’re Sero’s omega, he often helped you with your heats and you’d help him with his ruts, and he was strong-willed enough that he hadn’t marked or knotted you in the middle of things.
About a year and a half into the relationship you realize you really love him. Sure you had arguments, but everything was settled through calmed discussions over coffee or tea, and you came to understand each other well enough that arguments became few and far between.
You’re happy with Sero, so when your heat came around early and he was there to help, you were going to let him know just how much you loved him.
You texted him once you felt it starting. He was there within half an hour, and you pounced on him once the font door closed, smothering him in hot, wet kisses, eager to feel him inside you. He carries you to the bedroom, and you two are quick in shedding all of your clothes. He lays you on your back with a hand on your throat as he growls into your ear, making a hot shudder roll down your spine.
“Are you ready for me omega?” You whine and nod, your slick already dripping down your folds. You want him so bad it hurts.
“Please alpha, I need your cock.” He growls again, satisfied with your answer, and he presses into you, bottoming out with one firm thrust. You chant his name like a mantra as he set a bruising pace, rutting into you recklessly, wet skin slapping on skin the only other sound beside your whimpers and his growls. His teeth nip at your shoulder, sharp fangs testing your skin and claws digging into the fat of your hips. His cock is so deep, hot swollen tip kissing your cervix with every full-bodied thrust and sending you into a euphoric haze. Your own claws are sinking into his back, leaving little trails of red and blood beading down the lines. It drives him wild every time.
“That’s right, little omega. Mark me up, I’m all yours. Fuck you’re so pretty underneath me like this.” His hands grip behind your knees and press them into your chest, folding you nearly in half as he plows into you further. The angle knocks the breath from your lungs and your eyes roll back. You can feel his knot beginning to swell, feel how his thrusts are getting more controlled and his grip on your thighs tighten from the sheer concentration it’s taking for him not to breed you. You have other plans. Between wheezed breaths you squeak out.
“H-hantaaa~” He slows to a near snail’s pace, grinding his slowly growing cock into your sweet spot, a smirk stretching across his face as you splutter from the sudden change. He’s enjoying making you squirm.
“What is it, sweetness? Tell your alpha what you need.” You pant, chest heaving as much as the position will allow.
“Want your mark, want your knot~ Wanna be bred Hanta! I want your pups!” He stills completely, claws digging into the fat of your thighs with enough force to have drops of blood falling to the sheets beneath you. You’d never said anything like that in the heat of the moment. He can’t have heard you correctly...right?
“Princesa, do you know what you just said?” The seriousness in his tone has you sobering, but even before you knew exactly what you were saying. You nod frantically, wiggling your hips to get him to move again.
“Yes! I know alpha! Please, give me your knot~” His growl makes your bones shake, and with no warning he drops your legs around his waist and leans down so his face is buried in your neck.
“Fuck, I’m gonna trust you with this baby girl. I’ll give you exactly what you want.” His fangs sink into your scent gland just as he picks up his brutal pace, and the euphoria makes you cum hard, your whole body locking up and mouth falling open in a silent scream. He plows into you as you regain your breath, and you bite down on his own scent gland as hard as you can, tearing into his skin with every intention of leaving a pretty scar for the world to see.
His knot swells more, and he’s pushing it into you with every ounce of power he can generate with that gorgeous body of his. With one final snap of his hips he locks his body to yours and cums hard, ropes of hot seed filling you to the brim. He collapses on top of you and laps at the wound on your neck and you do the same. After a few minutes he leans back and cups your face in his hand, gazing down at you like you hung the moon and the stars.
“Are you alright?” You nod, nuzzling into his palm.
“I’m sorry. I was gonna talk to you about it, but my heat came early.” He kisses your forehead gently, brushing the strands of hair from your face.
“It’s okay, pretty thing. I trust you know what you’re getting yourself into.” You giggle and wrap your arms around him.
“Of course I do. I love you, Hanta.”
“I love you too.” You lay there, tangled in each other’s arms until his knot goes down. You whine at the loss when his cock slips out of you, clawing at him to come back because you’re still in heat. His hand gently wraps around your neck, a low chuckle on his lips.
“Relax, we’re far from done.” His already hard erection rubs up and down your glistening folds, barely stimulating your clit, teasing you until tears prick your eyes and you’re beggin him to fuck you again.
“When I’m done you won’t be able to walk for days. I’m gonna breed you so well, You’re gonna look so pretty all big and round with my pups.” He groans at the image he’d conjured in his head and you squeal as he slams his hips into you.
You’re in for a wonderfully long night.

Harley’s Plea for Help: Chapter 2
Chapter 1
“How long do you think it’s gonna take before she decides to sneak out?” Nightwing asked over his comms, lazily leaning against the balcony railing in front of him with his head resting on one hand.
“Dude, I started sneaking out almost twenty minutes ago,” a girl’s voice made Nightwing squeak and turn around, to reveal a teenage girl leaning against the door that led to the balcony he was on. “I didn’t want to draw attention to myself by doing unnecessarily showy gymnastics down from my hotel room’s balcony, no matter how much fun that would be, so I just snuck out one of the hotel’s back exits. Then I looked up to admire the moon and saw you here, staking out what is clearly my suite, and decided to come pay you a visit.”
“How long have you been there? And how did you even get behind me? I hope you didn’t break and enter, that’s an actual lived-in apartment behind us right now,” Nightwing asked, turning around to analyze the daughter of Harley Quinn for the first time in person.
She looked just like in her pictures, of course. Jet black hair like her father’s, except it seemed to have a bluish shine in the light. And her eyes were definitely Harley’s— thank goodness for that —vibrant blue and clearly analyzing him with the same amount of intensity as his did her. He had to bite back a chuckle. In a turn of complete irony, she really did look like a Wayne kid. Fit all of Bruce’s usual criteria to be adopted. But she was tiny, even smaller than Harley’s lithe form. He, Bruce, and Tim were of the hypothesis that the exposure both her parents had to Ace Chemical’s vats of acid likely had an effect on her DNA that stunted her growth. Perhaps there were other effects that they wouldn’t be able to figure out until they got to know her better, too, though it was clear that her skin was a likely one. It wasn’t unnaturally pale like her parent’s after their acid dips but it was paler than normal for sure, just a shade or two shy of being paper white.
And he could see, now, what Harley meant when she referred to Marinette as a powerhouse. It wasn’t very noticeable in pictures, but up close Dick could see the carefully honed muscle of an acrobat curling over her otherwise slim build. Combined with the knowledge that Marinette had been taught at least some serious self defense from a young age, he could see how such a tiny package could be a remarkable threat when necessary.
Marinette grimaced as the other Batfam, who were all nearby staking out her room from different angles, dropped onto the large balcony with them.
“Uh, well. I didn’t break and enter, I rather not get off to a criminal-ly start on my first night in Gotham, you know? But I realized that even though I was able to figure out the exact room you were staking me out from, I realized as soon as I got into the first floor of the building that I had no idea how to actually get to you. So I just climbed the stairs all the way to the roof and scaled my way down to this balcony, and pretended I’ve been here for a while when really I was barely able to hear you ask when I was gonna sneak out. I’m still out of breath, actually,” she put a hand on her chest and sure enough her breathing was still slightly fast. But not enough to be worrying or even all that noticeable. Yet another piece of evidence to show that she was a very active individual and had resistance built up to physical activity.
“Yup,” Robin groused grumpily, crossing his arms. “With all that rambling, you couldn’t be anyone else’s child but Quinzel’s.”
Marinette’s face immediately flushed pink all the way to her ears. “I’m sorry! I’ve been trying so hard to quit that habit, too!” She grumbled a bit to herself, putting her face in her hands. They all chuckled at the display. Red Hood ambled over, draping his arm over her shoulders (he nearly had to bend in half to do it, the height difference was that bad).
“As adorable as your freak out is, why’d you even come up here anyway? There’s no way you’d scale down a ten-story building just to say hello.”
She let out a heavy sigh at that, slowly peeling her face out of her hands. “Yeah, I recognized you guys right away. And honestly, as much as Momma Harley would be super proud of me for managing to give an entire group of vigilantes the slip, she’d also ground me for life if she found out that I saw you guys and still snuck away even though she probably swallowed her pride and asked you guys to babysit me, right? Self preservation. Contrary to popular belief, I do actually have some.”
“Wait,” Red Robin held up a hand, brows clearly furrowed under his cowl. “You expected her to ask for our help?”
“Well,” she made a so-so motion with her hand. “I didn’t think of it beforehand, but it all clicked once I saw Nightwing. I know how much my mom is worried about me, especially since you-know-who broke out a few days ago. She is more than worried enough to ask you guys for help. Even if she does complain about you guys, a lot actually, she also has made it clear that she trusts you guys with the stuff that actually matters.
“‘You know who’?” Batman repeated, arms crossed. If Marinette squinted, she thought there might have been a grin on his lips. “Is that how you always refer to him?”
“What else am I gonna call him?” she asked, face going deadpan. “Sperm donor? Source of a large amount of my self doubt and depreciation? The prime reason I haven’t been able to see my mom in person more often over the years? Oh, I know! How about I just always refer to him as ‘that bastard I wanna punch,’? That sounds good!” she rolled her eyes sarcastically. “Only one person in this world has the right to be considered my father in any capacity, and it sure as hell isn’t him. Genetics notwithstanding.”
Red Hood straight up guffawed at that, landing several rough pats on her back that made the girl stumble a bit. “Yep, I like this one! But as fun as it would be to see you give that jackass a mean left hook, it’s better if he never finds out who you are or knows that you’re here,” the vigilante’s voice got dark and serious very quickly. “He doesn’t forget people he finds interesting easily, and if he ever finds out about the connection you have to him, he’ll be a constant threat in your life.”
“I know,” Marinette agreed with a nod. “And if this conversation was happening two years ago, I’d say that my mom’s concerns aren’t unfounded. That I am too easily emotionally compromised and despite my deep seated issues and hatred for that man, I couldn’t guarantee he would be unable to get to me.”
Batman straightened up, as did all of his sons around him. None of them had missed the ‘if’ there. Batman’s voice went from charmingly deep to it’s usual gruff grumble. “What changed in two years?”
They all watched as Marinette gulped, taking a deep breath as she stalled for time, looking out at the view on the balcony before seeming to steel herself and return her gaze to Batman’s. When she did, it was suddenly full of iron will.
“I didn’t lie when I told Mom that I came to visit her— but that isn’t the whole truth, either. If I just wanted to visit her in Gotham, I would have waited until I was eighteen like we agreed. But I can’t wait, Paris can’t keep going on like this. I entered that contest because it was the fastest way to see you. I didn’t know if I would win, but… I had to take the chance. There was no way I’d be able to get to Gotham behind my mom’s back otherwise.”
“What are you talking about?” Robin hissed, stepping up to his father’s side. “Paris has been silent. If anything were happening, we would have heard about it by now.”
“No, you wouldn’t,” Marinette corrected, never losing that ironclad look in her eyes. “Because a combination of magic and politics is keeping it quiet. No news about Paris’ situation is able to leave the city limits. Magic makes any non-native who leaves Paris think that everything they experienced was just a crazy dream. Natives won’t forget, but politics has all of us under very strict NDAs if we leave city boundaries, and all of our local news and social media is blocked from being accessed by anyone outside the city. But, I figured a little breaking of the rules wouldn’t exactly put a stain on my family’s reputation or anything, so,” she dug in her pocket and pulled out a thumb drive, holding it up for all of them to see. She swallowed again, but never stopped her eye contact with Batman. She held out the thumb drive.
“I came to Gotham to ask for your help. This sped things up, I didn’t expect to see you on my first night here, but two years in Hawkmoth’s Paris has really taught me how to roll with the punches. This,” she shook the thumb drive. “Holds videos of every fight since HawkMoth first showed up. It has all the information I’ve gathered over two years, tracks his movements and lists all his targets and— everything. But I’m not a detective, I’m a designer. I make clothes, I spar on the weekends, I am not good at getting evidence to prove that someone is a magic-abusing villain holding an entire city hostage.”
“We’re gonna need some details, Little Q,” Red Hood finally removes his arm from around her shoulders, instead crossing his arms and looking down at her sternly. “If your city has a villain holding it hostage, is anyone fighting him? And if you do have someone fighting him, why don’t you need our help, or why didn’t they call the Justice League? The JLE should be in Paris, right?”
Marinette snorted, face scrunching up in obvious distaste. “I’ll have to answer those a little out of order. First; the JLE was kicked out of Paris. They moved their headquarters to Italy about five years ago, I’m just surprised they apparently kept that secret from you,” she gestured to all of them, who indeed seemed very caught off guard by that tidbit. But Marinette just sighed and continued. “Though that’s a good thing, actually. We do have heroes, it started out as just a pair but it’s grown into a small team out of necessity. They didn’t call the Justice League because the last thing we need is any powered heroes coming in and making it worse— your league doesn’t have the best reputation for letting newer heroes take the lead even on their home turf, you know,” she pointed out, which made Batman shift a bit guiltily. He knew the JL was often a bit… heavy handed in their methods.
“What makes the situation so bad that you don’t want to bring experienced heroes into it?” Red Robin cut in, sounding as if the whole situation was a puzzle he was determined to sort out. Which, really, was exactly what Marinette had been counting on. She shot him a finger gun, grinning.
“That’s exactly the point! Hawkmoth uses a magical artifact, like I said— but this artifact can brainwash anybody who experiences even the slightest negative emotion. Sadness, anger, fear— anything negative. And it gives them powers, but puts them largely under his influence,” her expression twisted again, this time into a wry little grimace. “I guess you can say that my momma’s psychiatry background has secretly come in handy a lot over these past two years. And Hawkmoth is exactly why I try to tell Momma Harley to stop visiting me— I have worked my butt off to keep her from finding out about his attacks or getting Akumatized. Every time she shows up it gives me a heart attack!”
“Akumatized?”
Marinette waved a hand dismissively. “It’s the term used for when someone is turned into a super powered villain because of HawkMoth. The brainwashing— really it’s more similar to a straight up corruption. The person usually lacks their usual moral compass, and just seeks to soothe whatever set off their negative emotion in the first place. Usually, that means they seek a bloody revenge. And if someone who already has extensive training or extremely strong powers gets Akumatized, guess what?” She made jazz hands even though her face was deadpan. “Extra powers, or amplified ones, for the metas or superheroes who are Akumatized. And imagine what someone with, say, Batman’s level of experience could do if he had powers and no moral compass,” the silence that followed her words was deafening. She just nodded, knowing she had gotten her point across. “I’ve been working my butt off to stay positive, because if I’m Akumatized…” her shoulders fell, and she had to swallow a lump in her throat. “... I have no idea what I’d turn into, but if you take into consideration both my training and my family history… it’s really best if we never find out what kind of magic-powered supervillain I’d make.”
“So, let me get this straight,” Nightwing said after another long moment of silence for that to all sink in. He gestured at her with an open palm. “You’ve been dealing with a terrorist for two years who targets emotional vulnerability, you apparently have never been corrupted by this magic at least to present day, but your mother still worries about you being very emotionally fragile. And your heroes are not detectives, which is clearly what you need or you wouldn’t have asked us for our help.”
Marinette nodded. “I used to be very impressionable. At the start of all this, I was a huge people-pleaser. I got attached to new people in a matter of minutes. My mom always said I reminded her too much of herself— but two years of fighting off a guy trying to get into my head—“
“Wait,” Batman nearly barked, taking a step forward. “He’s been targeting you? You specifically?”
Marinette nodded grimly, mouth a straight line. “Not from the beginning, but this past year it’s been painfully obvious. He might be able to sense the strength of people’s emotions, and unfortunately I don’t exactly experience my emotions very… gently. All of my emotions tend to the much more intense side of the spectrum. If that’s true, then he might know that any negative emotion I feel will make an extremely strong Akuma. Either that, or he’s going by process of elimination. All of my friends, except for one, have been Akumatized already. So has my Papan and my grandmother. But it’s obvious when he’s targeting someone, I’ve felt him try to override my will on several occasions. But I can’t just repress all of my negative emotions forever, so consider us working against the clock right now. That thumb drive has all the details you need about our heroes, how exactly Hawkmoth’s powers work, and so on.”
“Do your heroes know you’re asking for our help?” Red Robin asked, gaze burning a figurative hole through Marinette’s face. “Better yet, if this drive has as much information as you say it does, how did you get it?”
Marinette handed the drive over to Batman, who finally took it and tucked it in his belt as she answered.
“Momma Harley might have a lot to say about your detective skills, but you are all still strangers to me. So consider this a test of your abilities— I expect that you will all go to extreme lengths to verify all of the information I gave you anyway. After all, I’m still the daughter of your most hated enemy. Right?” She met each of their gazes, one by one, with a challenging one of her own. “You’ll just have to figure out my connection to the heroes on your own. And how I got the information, too. It shouldn’t be too hard for the so-called world’s greatest detectives. And maybe this can double as a trust exercise. I fully expect you guys to scour through every inch of my past, and dig up everything you can on me. I encourage you to try to find everything you can, so that hopefully you can decide to trust me on your own once you have all the details laid out in front of you. By the way, for your own sanity? I’d start with reading about all of our heroes’ powers and abilities before you watch any footage of past attacks.”
Red hood rocked back on his heels, trading glances with the other vigilantes before they all shared a nod. Apparently having decided their course of action, Red Hood leaned down and hoisted Marinette up into a princess carry. All traces of her previous iron will melted away in favor of the high pitched squeal of surprise she gave, and once more she became an overly flustered teenager.
“Alright, little cutie. Let’s get you to your mom’s place before she and her crazy plant lady fiancé come hunting us down.”
“I can walk! I can freerun on my own! Mon dieu please let me down! Eeeeek!” She squealed again as Robin slapped a domino mask over her eyes and Red Hood wasted no time jumping over the balcony railing with her still in his arms. The fact that they were lowered down by a wire wrapped around Hood’s waist didn’t seem to take away any of the fright that came with a sudden drop over an eighth-story balcony.

I wasn't sure if I'd work up the nerve to post this (blame my brain) but honestly, Day 6: Fake Relationship is just the best excuse out there. How could I not?
A cover design for @fireinmywoods' fic Palimpsest. Please please go read it.
Some of my thoughts under the cut, with spoilers for the fic itself. Don't open if you haven't read it!
Oh my god I’m so sorry but this is such a long rant about a pretty simple picture. I’m just bored and I love getting to explain my thought process over the hours it takes to draw and I usually try to stop myself. Anyway, yeah, I promise it’s not as deep as i make it all sound here.
Recently I went: You know what? If I'm going to have Palimpsest on my kindle it damn well needs a cover. I went through a couple concept doodles before settling on this one.
Format: Ok, i haven’t read Palimpsest in a while but I tried to put as much in as I could. The concept of Jim and Bones facing opposite directions is meant to be a bit of a reference to 'read one way and then another'. The original concept doodle actually had them on either side of a spiral maze, but damn it I refuse to draw that much grain. As it is this is definitely a bit of a 'fuck it, squares' moment.
The choice to have Bones facing the camera (viewer? audience? what do I say in this case???) again is literally just because he's the narrator. We’re seeing what he wants to show us from his own point of view. Jim’s face is obscured; we don’t know what he’s really thinking or feeling, only what Bones sees of it.
I’ve already said I refuse to draw too much grain (even though I seem to keep doing it. ITS JUST SO PRETTY), but I KNEW I needed them out in a field. Someone in the discord once mentioned the paragraph:
He tips his head back against the wall and looks out at the corn bordering the schoolyard, vividly green against the backdrop of blue sky, golden tassels swaying lazily in the breeze. Terraforming is a hell of a thing. This place was probably an uninhabitable rock a couple centuries ago, and now it could easily pass for Illinois or Iowa. He wonders how Jim feels about that. All the work the man’s put into leaving his childhood behind, years of striking out deeper and deeper still into the great unknown, only to end up in another damn cornfield.
Now, I don’t trust a single one of you to not open this before reading, so I’m not going to expound on why this line stuck so firmly in my mind, but just trust that it did and I wanted to include it in the cover. I also pulled some of the imagery I used in the SIEL cover and had them both being a little bit consumed by the grass, sinking in around the ankles.
Color scheme: I don’t know why, but Palimpsest has always given me very warm-colored energy, in the same way that SIEL was always greys and greens. Gold corn, red sunsets, blond hair and endless skies. I also like drawing in warm colors, and it contrasted the SIEL cover nicely. I admit I think of the stories as two parts of a set, and I do so like when series have covers that work together.
Extra details: Take a look at Bones. What have we got?
A med kit. A tricorder. A wedding ring. His colors stand out against the corn and set him apart. I may have tried hard not to spoil anything, but I’m very much not above putting plot points in the fine details. Fight me.
You could probably argue that the black swirl means something, but really I just love the contrast and I think it looks cool. And it makes the text stand out, which i was having trouble with. And fills space. Yep.
Anyway, that’s it, thanks for reading this far if you did! I had a lot of fun with this piece :)
(And I’m so sorry Em if this is coming off as obsessive, I have no excuse other than your writing makes me lose my shit (in a good way). It does not leave my brain)
