AHHH ok, let's talk about Lucifer and Alastor
I've been reading a lot of reactions to Hazbin: from the gushers who think the show is perfect to the hyper-critical who hate the show, the creator, and everything in between. I don't fall into any of those categories. I had a lot of fun watching it, but there were some things I liked, and some others I didn't. You know, as it's usually the case with any piece of media one interacts with.
I love reading other people's opinions. It makes me pay more attention to things I might have missed. BUT for Hazbin, most of the criticism I've seen boils down to two things: either "I, personally, didn't like it, so that means it's bad" which is not the hot take people seem to think it is, or just lack of media literacy.
I won't go over all the examples of that last point (there are plenty), but one example people are using to criticize the show --which I can't seem to get out of my head so now I have to write about it-- it's how out of left field it was for Alastor to think of himself as a father figure to Charlie.
My guys and guysettes, that's because he doesn't.
He does it to piss off Lucifer, because he doesn't like him. That's it.
"But they just met, why doesn't he like him?" I don't know! but let's go over some examples, shall we?
In the first episode, during Alastor's TV ad, we see a picture of the hotel, clearly drawn by him. I ask you to look to the bottom left where it says "No tacky circus decor! I promise"
Tumblr media
Do we know what he is referring to? Sure we do! the ring circus master himself! Lucifer Morningstar, whose whole schtick is circus-related. Clearly, Alastor is not a fan.
When Lucifer arrives to the hotel, did anybody catch Alastor's first reaction? (besides calling him short to his face, ofc)
Tumblr media
Do you see that trembling eye? He is PISSED. Why? Who the hell knows! But he clearly does not care for the King of Hell himself (if you force me to give you my opinion on this, I think it's because of Alastor's delusions of grandeur, and plain-ole narcissism, but that is a conversation for another post, if I ever gather enough energy to write it)
Tumblr media
He introduces himself and immediately does this. R-U-D-E.
Now, let's talk about the song itself, which, again, is clearly just an attempt to piss off Lucifer and not really about Charlie. At all.
Tumblr media
He only cares about Lucifer's reactions. Because he is not being HONEST. We can all see that? right?? I mean, it is pretty FREAKING obvious. He is just trying to get a rise out of Lucifer.
And now, the moment we were all waiting for, the infamous "call me dad" moment.
Tumblr media
Which had nothing to do with Charlie, and it was just another example of Alastor being the most annoying bastard alive. He is not even looking at her! He is staring Lucifer dead in the eye and saying "piss off shortie".
Why? Again, I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine. I hope we'll get the answer in season 2, because immediate animosity against the King of Hell himself is something I need some context for. Is it funny? Absolutely! I love that song! The violin solo? PURE GOLD (he he)
But for the love of Christ and the Antichrist, please stop thinking of "Alastor thinks of himself as Charlie's dad out of nowhere" as a valid criticism. As some have speculated, Alastor involvement with Charlie will probably have something to do with Alastor's deal and 7-year absence. If it's never explained, then sure, what the heck Vivzie?? please include it on the show!
There are PLENTY of things we could criticize about Hazbin (and people smarter and with more energy than me have done so already). But there are so many examples of "criticism" that are just examples of "I don't know how to interact with media anymore" and I beg of you to do better. This is a tiny example of the show showing and not telling, and some of y'all failed the comprehension test.
It is a fun show, guys. Enjoy it.
TL;DR: Alastor does not think he is Charlie's dad, ffs. He just wanted to piss off Lucifer.

Soooooo... DR Lloyd.
Yeah, he has fucked up badly in S2, Visions and Teacher wise
Let's talk. (S1 and S2 spoilers)
Right, DR Lloyd is genuinely so interesting, and mainly because he fails at SO MANY of his personal goals, ironically, in an attempt to achieve those goals, because he has the right mindset.
But he makes the wrong decisions...
First of all, I wanna bring up his Visions:
So we already know that there's been an ENTIRE year between Season 1 and Season 2 of Dragons Rising, so really quite a while.
And according to Lloyd himself, he's been having these visions since after the Imperium Source Dragon thing when they saved the world again.
So... Seriously, why didn't he just tell the others?
From a pure logic perspective this sorta doesn't make any sense, this isn't Wildbrain Era or Crystalized Lloyd, this is a whole new him, most accepted theory for the Merge is that it's been 5 years since it happened (6 by the time of S2), and we still don't know how much it's been since pre-merge and Crystalized.
Lloyd's obviously had time to heal and get in a better mental state, his behaviour switch from Crystalized to Dragons Rising is enough evidence of that not to mention overall Demeanor.
He doesn't have his Seasons 11-13 trust issues, or his Crystalized anger issues, so... What gives?
Now granted, some people might see that this is a bit insensitive or inconsiderate towards Lloyd, but given how much he's been through, how much he's grown and how much he should trust the ninja (which he VERY MUCH DOES BY THE WAY, Ep3 of DR Season 2 with his little chat with Nya, and the countless times she's comforted him during the Season), it calls into question as to why he didn't tell the ninja about his visions...
And like, I'm sorry but at this point this seems like extremely overlooked potential, Zane???
Like, there's literally a guy on your team who's had visions, terrible ones at that, before, why not go talk to him about it??
I'm just, really confused specifically by this aspect...
And another aspect, this being his Teaching:
Forgive me if I start insulting Lloyd but WHAT. IS. HE. DOING?????
1 YEAR SINCE SEASON 1, AND YOU HAVEN'T TAUGHT SORA OR ARIN PROPER SPINJITZU??? HELLO?
I am not holding back with this one, because this just seems like a massive oversight on his side that, depending on you view it, seriously fucked over the team majorly...
And you know why I find it so inexcusable?
1 Word: Wyldfyre.
The glow she's had when it comes to her fighting skills is actually insane, if you've watched the last 2 Episodes of Season 2 you'd KNOW how well she fought against the Wolf Clan, and Wyldfyre is not really even Lloyd's thing, she's more Kai's thing.
Granted, Kai's not taught her Spinjitzu, and he should be given shit for that as well, but when you compare her to Sora?
Yeah it sorta falls apart...
Sora didn't even know how to jump up high enough while preforming the moves for Spinjitzu, meanwhile Wyldfyre is fresh off of her injury and she's moving crazy quickly around every enemy.
That and... Arin.
Lloyd has no excuse for Arin, straight up.
Arin's got the motivation and drive to learn new skills, he's the same kid that managed to solo learn a weird form of Spinjitzu, with self taught ninja moves PURELY from watching his heros fighting.
So why, in the bloody hell, did Lloyd double down on his unique Spinjitzu, that he hasn't been able to get better at for the last year despite extensive training, instead of at the VERY LEAST teaching him Spinjitzu basics?
Again, 1st Fang ninja statue is designated to those who need to learn Spinjitzu first, and it's criminal that ARIN out of ALL people, had to be PUT in it.
And I have to say, all that considered + Lloyd's constant attempts at reassuring Arin like the kid missed up, and the times he told him to be patient, it really puts a bad taste in my mouth for Lloyd.
Lloyd you are not helping, Arin's been more then patient, and he's not gotten better any single bit at his Unique Spinjitzu or fighting Skills, this is a you problem and you don't even realise it.
You're trying too hard to be like Wu, when in S1 you should've at least gotten a small hint you don't have to be like him, like not even full acknowledgement, just a hint!
This might seem a bit rambly and emotion fuelled so I'm sorry for that, but DR Lloyd frustrates me with his decisions, don't get me wrong I still like him, the show emphasises the importance of Mental Health a lot of times through him, by Representing panic attacks and his extreme anxiety using him, and that's awesome!
What isn't very awesome however, is all the aforementioned problems with his character (that I find at least).

Is it Ranpo or Rampo? PSA since the spelling is different between subs:
The real life author Edogawa Ranpo/Rampo was a very cool person. There are lots of fun stories about him, but the thing to know is that he liked Edgar Allan Poe and could speak English. (He liked Poe's mystery stories specifically, Poe having created the proto-Sherlock in his stories about character C. Auguste Dupin).
Why RaNpo: The original author based his pen name on Edgar Allan Poe. Because of the Japanese phonetic system, the first O is considered "soft" and can be skipped over when talking fast, and the W sound is so soft it's often omitted from translation altogether. The Rs are a little more complicated but for the purposes of this explanation I'll just say that soft Rs at the ends of English words are often omitted in their Japanese counterparts (i.e. "computer" is pronounced "computa"), and Japanese doesn't have an L sound exactly, so the R in Ranpo is a stand-in. Thus:
Edgar Allan Poe -> Edga aran po -> Edgaa ranpo -> Edogawa Ranpo -> えどがわ•らんぽ -> 江戸川•乱歩
So this makes it seem like a no-brainer to spell it Ranpo. I'll give another point in Ranpo's favor: Japanese does not have a stand-alone character for M. Each Japanese character has at least two letter sounds in it and one is always a vowel (thus "do" instead of just "d" in Edogawa). Vowel-only sounds are an exception to this rule. They have characters that represent solo A, E, I, O, U sounds - and one for N. ん is just the letter N. They do have the M sound of course, and Ranpo is written "Ra-n-po" so this must mean it's Ranpo, right?
Why RaMpo:
Now it gets complicated. As previously mentioned, Edogawa Rampo could read and speak English. He couldn't write it, however, and so in the 1950s he collaborated with a translator to translate his works into English. His chosen romanization of his pen name? Edogawa Rampo.
Now we KNOW he knew better. He can read English and he's a huge Poe fan, he knows this isn't how Allan is spelled. I haven't been able to find anything on his reasoning, but nobody in the US even realizes this is a play on Poe's name upon hearing it, so I doubt copyright had anything to do with the spelling (and they got way fewer claims for that in the 1950s anyway). I will say that I've seen quite a few Japanese people choose handles related to things they like in German/English and then choose to spell it differently in the romanization, so it might just be for fun. But whatever the reason, the fact remains that Edogawa Rampo himself spelled it Rampo.
On the use of ん, a translator friend of mine once explained the phonetics of the ん character to me. If you're an avid weeb you might have seen "senpai" spelled "sempai" on occasion. You know how the letter A has long and short pronunciations (denoted by "ā" and "ă" respectively)? Similarly, ん has 4 different pronunciations depending on the sounds around it. The most common one is indeed the N sound English-speakers are familiar with, but if ん comes before a sound where your lips press together (such as M, B, or P) it's pronounced like an M. Rampo has one of these sounds following the ん. Certain style guides advise using the letter M in this case.
Since these style guides are prevalent in Japan, it's possible that Edogawa was just following one of those in his chosen translation. Or he might have been being artistic. Someone out there may know but I sure don't.
As a final note for Rampo, all of the official Japanese merch uses the M spelling. I take any and all official merch spellings with a grain of salt, but in this case it's very consistent. Funimation's written romanization has been Rampo (check season 2), but Yen Press has used Ranpo.
So what's the answer?
Technically both are "right," it just depends on your style guide (and, personally, I like Ranpo better), so the answer is... use whichever you like! Such is the way of romanization in anime fandoms.

Singing statistics: Quinn Fabray
Once upon a time I decided to embark on a journey that involved creating a massive database with Glee songs and giving characters points based on how many covers they had and how much they sang in those songs. At some point I’m going to migrate all I’ve done so far over to tumblr but until then, please see this reddit post for the basics of the database and this masterpost for other character statistics and otherwise. If you have questions about the mechanics and are confused about what points refer to here, please consult with those posts or reach out. Otherwise, let’s talk Queen Bee Quinn. I have lots of visuals for you and some updates to the previously used template, and lots of words to explain what the images mean.
Tumblr media
First things first and some basics, Quinn was in 73 Glee episodes overall and during her time on the show, she sang in 42 songs total. Thanks to the point system and solos, duets, and lead roles in group numbers being worth more than 1 point, these 42 songs mean 66 points for her. With this, she’s the 13th most featured voice of the series, behind most of the original New Directions and just ahead of the season 4 newbies. With 42 performances, her voice is feature in just over 6% of all Glee songs so those are your chances of hearing Dianna when putting an all-songs Glee playlist on shuffle.
Tumblr media
Now to get into the different types of songs Quinn has had. Solos are worth 3 points in this system and of those Quinn had 6 in total. This makes her the 16th character with the most solos, ranking her lower than her overall singing place. Four out of 6 solos were in season 1, making it by far her best in that respect. Two of them were Unholy Trinity songs with Brittana on backup, once for real with Naya and Hemo in Come See About Me. Curiously, two solos were Supremes songs and a third, Never Can Say Goodbye, originally intended for The Supremes before landing with The Jackson 5. More on artists most often covered in a later section.
Tumblr media
Duets are worth 2 points and of those Quinn had 10, ranking her 10th among the cast. Her singing partners were a diverse bunch and there were only two characters she sang with twice, Sam in season 2 and Artie in season 3 episode 15 - both songs in the same episode. That’s Artie’s pattern, by the way. We have a pie chart here for the first actual chart graphics but more interesting than Quinn’s list of duet partners is the next slide.
Tumblr media
This way of visualizing the “sings with” category is new for Quinn’s character post. Previously this was just a column chart but the good old bubbles helps us actually see the differences more. The numbers are all in the table on the left but the chart tells that Quinn’s most significant singing partner overall was Santana. Now, this isn’t only duets, it’s every time Quinn is featured in a song with someone else. For example, out of Quinn’s 42 songs Santana was also in 16 of them. Fun fact, Santana is featured in every single one of Quinn’s season 4 songs, and very nearly in all season 6 ones. On the other end of the spectrum are Blaine and Mike; Mike isn’t a surprise as the OG who sang the least. He ranks lowest for practically every ND member. But Blaine is curious since there are only two group numbers Quinn and him are ever featured in together (Control and We’ve Got Tonite).
Tumblr media
And then we have something a little different, the distribution of points between Quinn and another character in their shared songs. For example, because Brittany often provides backup or has smaller parts when Quinn sings, their balance is way off from the 50% mark and Quinn tends to have larger parts in those shared songs. The opposite is true for Rachel, who often leads group numbers whereas Quinn tends to have small parts. Same goes for Finn, and then the rest is more or less near that 50% line.
Tumblr media
Speaking of and moving onto group numbers, as you might have guessed based on the stats so far Quinn didn’t exactly have the most throughout her run. She was featured in 18 New Directions performances overall, meaning she was in just under 9.5% of all ND songs. Out of these, one was her Sectionals duet with Sam and she took the lead or otherwise had a major solo in just five songs. The rest, 12 performances were a verse or two here and there, but mostly a line or two. She did also feature on Edge of Glory by The Troubletones but that doesn’t count towards her setlists statistics so she’s still only the 11th most featured there. Her duet goes a long way to not making that an even lower number. Quinn was present and a member of the New Directions for 22 competition performances overall and sang in 4 of those, her 4.5 points landing her the 11th most-featured spot.
Tumblr media
Performances that don’t include the whole group or even a subset like the Glee Girls get counted as ensembles instead. Quinn had two songs that qualify as trios, a Fapezberry and an Unholy Trinity feature - Problem counts as a quartet thanks to Artie, as well as two other songs. Her one quintet is the Celibacy Club’s banger Afternoon Delight and Homeward Bound/Home is her one sextet.
Tumblr media
Backups are a tricky business and there are many variations. Basically, both backing vocals in the traditional sense and just one lines in a song are worth 0.5 points and are counted for this category. The distribution with Quinn’s 8 half-pointers is three instances of what can be considered backing vocals and five times having very very small parts in songs, such as We’ve Got Tonite. Another curious category is what I mark with zeros, aka either “Quinn” providing vocals but Dianna not, e.g. I Look To You, or Dianna being said to provide them but that not necessarily being the case diegetically. These cases were decided based on Glee Wiki but they don’t count in the statistics anyway. Examples include Jump and Dog Days Are Over.
Tumblr media
Going back into chart territory now that we’ve had our look at song categories, first up the seasons by numbers. These columns refer to the number of songs Quinn had in seasons and the different shades denote song types. Even though season 1 is looking real dark with its four solos, it’s still a weak season vocally. We also see that, despite only singing in six songs, Quinn was the 7th most featured character in season 1. Things get significantly better, number of songs wise in seasons 2 and 3 - or do they? Technically yes, Quinn sings in more songs, but there’s a lack of solos and because of the ever-expanding cast she’s only 14th and 11th in seasons 2 and 3 respectively. While yes, season 3 is her most featured season, it is for a lot of others too, hence 11th place. And then as Quinn graduates and becomes a guest star these numbers understandably get much lower. But that isn’t the whole story.
Tumblr media
We’re back to bubble charts to get to the bottom of how well-featured Quinn was, exactly, in every season. You see, these numbers are adjusted for the number of episodes she was in and then we get the X axis of points and Y axis of songs. And it paints a different picture, does it not? Season 1 s her least featured when considering that she was in all episodes, not just in terms of songs but adjusted with points, too, so her solos didn’t count for much. And then there’s season 2, where there was a stretch of episodes without Quinn singing but it still fares better. Season 3 is an improvement yet again, but her guest star seasons are another beast entirely. Now, this makes sense. When Dianna Agron returns as a guest star it only feels right to feature her more than they did when she was a main character, admittedly an underutilized one. And so season 4 and 6 in particular stand out, even though she sang in both her season 5 episodes. Season 4 is ahead in terms of points, what with that one last solo, but season 6 packed five songs into what is basically just two episodes. Remember, season 1 had six songs overall in twenty-two episodes.
Tumblr media
To drive the point of Quinn’s underutilization home, here’s a side tour of Marley’s stats. At least that’s what I think the purpose of this left chart was when I made it well over a year ago. You see, our chart on the left tracks the cumilation of points as the episodes go on, for both Quinn and Marley. Quinn’s begins stagnating at around the point Marley appears, naturally as season 4 saw the exit of one and intro of the other. And see how Marley almost ended up with more overall points than Quinn? Because in just a season and a half she got 65 points, one short of Quinn’s grand total. In fact, for basically all of season 5 Marley was ahead, meaning she sang as much in season 4 as Quinn did in three seasons. The only thing that makes Quinn the 13th and Marley the 14th most featured voice is season 6.
To further illustrate the stark difference between how their voices were utilized in the time they had, on the right you can see a bubble chart similar to the previous slide’s. I know, it’s squished, but you can still see Marley blowing Quinn out of the water in terms of both average number of songs and point per episode. Twice as much, essentially. And to be clear none of this is against Marley, it’s just pointing out how relatively little Quinn got during her time, particularly as a regular.
Tumblr media
Now onto the genres and artists category. Above is the distribution of genres in Quinn songs, most notable is how few showtunes she did and the relatively big representation of soul. In fact, a whopping 4 out 6 six solos can classify as soul, a genre Glee didn’t feature a ton of. Pop and rock being the top two is no surprise given the overall ratios of the show but R&B/soul is well-represented with Quinn.
Tumblr media
No surprise, then, that the signature artists I was able to narrow down based on the numbers are The Supremes and The Jackson 5. Glee covered six Supremes songs and two of those were Quinn solos. As previously mentioned, a third solo was at one point meant to be a Supremes song but the switch just resulted in The Jackson 5 also being a signature artist for Quinn. Among the many Jackson songs covered, Glee did two Jackson 5 performances and both featured Quinn: the aforementioned Never Can Say Goodbye and ABC. Motown queen indeed.
Tumblr media
Coming towards the end, I wanted to make note of “extra” songs - covers not counted for the stats above, either because they weren’t actually featured in the show or because studio versions were never released. The former category includes the Christmas banger God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and the never-aired s3 version of Seasons of Love. The latter category has Ride Wit Me and the sadly never completed due to first trimester issues Fuinn version of DSB.
Tumblr media
Finally, this last image is just the table summary of the seasons column chart. It’s something I always included with old stats so I kept it in here, too, in case it helps anyone to see it laid out like this. I’m a believer in a good chart helping to make sense of numbers but sometimes seeing it presented like this also helps.
So. Yeah! That was Quinn’s Glee run in numbers. Please reach out with any and all questions, and if I see that people are actually curious about this stuff I’ll get on that tumblr migration and making new posts using the database. There’s a lot more to cover with the data that’s in there.

You are slowly slowly turning again like other jkkrs here. You are well reasonable some weeks ago. But now my question to you is...do you feel it's strange or not that jk hanging out alone or with other people on the same day jimin came back after 2 weeks and after that too he seen for lunch alone? If they are actually a couple...don't you think any couple surely spend their time together if one partner comes back after so many days? Isn't it weird? From past year... there just so many things which continuously indicating atleast a gap in their relationship. It seems like now normal friendship and nothing beyond that. Jimin was the last one to know about floods too...you can't compare a romantic long term healthy love relationship to some normal friendship by saying his friends didn't tell him either. I admire u more seriously when u talk about facts some weeks ago but now u again seems like really trying to like... forcing urself to believe in jikook romantically. You are talking about negative points too about them openly before...and i admired u for that but now u seems changed. But still....ur thoughts on my question above???
Dear Slowly Turning,
Exchanges like this are getting exhausting because I consistently say the same things over and over, and folks keep dismissing my points because it’s not what they want to hear.
If it seems like I’m slowly becoming like other Jikook fans, it’s because I’m slowly growing from a baby Army into a more seasoned Jikooker. And when older Army tell me it takes time to know where Jikook are at with each other, I’m starting to see they have a good point.
You say that Jungkook didn’t speak to Jimin while he was in Los Angeles. How do you know?
How do you know they never communicated?
Because Jimin didn’t know how severe the weather was in Seoul? He was 16 hours behind, totally focused on his work. NO ONE told Park Jimin about the flooding, not the staff with him in LA, not his collaborators in LA, not his family in Busan, nor his company in Seoul, not his news apps, and apparently not his members. Either no one spoke to him, OR he just didn’t check his phone for a while because he had his head down, trying to make a fantastic solo album. He was ONE DAY behind knowing about the extent of the flooding. That’s not evidence that he and Jungkook are not romantic. That's evidence he was preoccupied.
How do you KNOW in all that time, he and JK didn’t text or chat about other things even once?
Then you say JK went to lunch on the day Jimin arrived home, so they didn’t see each other. How do you know?
How do you know they didn’t see each other?
How do you know JK’s autograph was posted on the very same day he went to the restaurant? (Or that the photo with the fan in the street was posted in real time? Sometimes folks hold that stuff back to avoid them getting swarmed.) How do you know JK didn’t see Jimin before or after these things happened? How do you know they didn’t make plans to hang out several days later, when Jimin was no longer exhausted or could be sure he didn’t bring back COVID again?
And let’s imagine they DIDN'T talk much or immediately hang out—why does that negate what seems like years of a loving relationship? They are busy; they are allowed to do things on their own without it meaning they don't love one another.
How can you say you KNOW there’s a gap between them, when you aren’t privy to all the details of their days?
Look, it’s not unreasonable to say: “I haven’t seen any evidence of Jimin and Jungkook hanging out 1:1 in their personal time for a while now, so I conclude that they MIGHT NOT BE as close as before and probably aren’t dating.”
That is not unreasonable, because that is based on the data you have right now. It is your HYPOTHESIS.
But the data you have right now is of such a limited sample size, I really have to wonder if it’s enough to draw any valid CONCLUSIONS.
I haven’t seen photos of the inside of Jimin’s home, nor of him hanging out with non-famous friends, nor of him talking to his family, nor of him preparing for the Busan expo concert.
It’s reasonable to assume that Jimin likely has a home, and sees friends, and checks in with his family, and is working on upcoming performances—but he hasn’t spoken about it and I’ve seen no photos or videos about any of that.
It would be premature for me to say that because I haven’t seen it, it doesn’t exist.
To give some examples, I had no clue Jimin was working on English lessons until he said it in the walnut Vlive. I didn’t know that Jimin was dealing with his insurance premiums issue for months. I had no idea he commissioned a billboard sign for Sungwoon’s birthday and then showed up at his house and dragged the poor guy to go see it until Sungwoon told us. I never would have known Jikook went out on White Day if fan photos hadn’t leaked. I didn’t know Jungkook and Jimin hung out after quarantine during the Grammys until Jungkook said on his Instagram “Have I seen Jiminie? OF COURSE! I ran to his room. 'JUNGKOOK-AH!'” *mimicking embracing* I hadn’t the smallest notion that Jimin recently had his wisdom teeth out until he mentioned it in his Vlog. I didn't know if JK liked the song With You for months until he sang it on HIS Vlog.
Jimin and Jungkook don’t post selcas together (though sometimes they are in the background of each other’s concert-related photos) and they don’t talk about every single time they hang out. Because despite what the cult is desperate to believe, their relationship is not just for the cameras. Sometimes we find out about ice skating and escape rooms and shopping and traveling with friends and mom’s kimchi and Bam sleeping in Jimin’s elbow and watching Marvel movies or anime or K-dramas together… long, long after it took place.
Jimin is playing it way close to the vest these days—far more than he did prior to the pandemic, that’s for sure. It’s not reaching to say we are getting carefully curated content when it comes to Park Jimin.
Listen, if my registered mail were tampered with not once but FOUR times… and photos of that mail with my exact home address and government-issued ID number were posted online so I could get stalked… and my home was “seized” by the government… and news of this “shame” was carefully held back to hit the press on the SAME DAY my first OST dropped… I’d look at all that sabotage, likely from an inside source, and I’d think twice about my closeted homosexual relationship in a conservative country that was debating the terms of my mandatory military service where gay sex acts can land me in prison… and at the very least, I’d cool it on the PDA. I’d share a lot less of myself and my lover.
If it were me, personally? I might go so far as to say, “I love you with all my heart, Jungkook, but until we are out of the military and done with our idol careers, I’m not dating you or anyone. The potential for blackmail and harassment is just too high. Let’s just be good friends.”
And making that call would be absolutely tragic, but not irresponsible or out of the blue. So yeah, it’s possible they are just friends now. Absolutely possible.
Do I think Jimin and Jungkook are dating? I genuinely do not know. I HOPE so. But hoping is not knowing.
We’re SEEING less touching, less compliments, less staring, less evidence of hanging out one-on-one since Vegas. (I would argue that we might be being shown less by design because Jimin’s “scandal” broke after Vegas.) So no one in good faith can say they are 100% sure they are together right at this moment.
But we also aren’t seeing any anger, awkwardness, stiltedness, sulkiness, disdain, or dismissal between then, nor tension among the group with regard to them. So we can’t say it’s likely they broke up, either.
My stance is “Let’s wait and see some more.” I need more content; I need to see the vibes consistently over time. (I reserve the right to change my stance at any time with new evidence.)
It’s okay if my stance is not your stance. If you’re in a rush to pronounce the Jikook ship is sunk, I’m not out to convert you to my way of thinking. You don’t need to walk by faith instead of sight; it would be unfair to ask that of you. I will still be civil with you, so long as you’re respectful of all members and other fans.
In fact, I appreciate perspectives that are very different from mine, because it helps me refine my own way of thinking by challenging any biases I might have. So long as the tone is respectful, we can talk about anything.
But please hear me when I tell you honestly where my head is at:
What I sense now between Jimin and Jungkook is affection, warmth, comfort, familiarity. I am not seeing much of boyfriend vibes, sexual attraction, pining, or deep intimate knowledge of each other’s day to day. I’m not seeing it, maybe because I need a bigger sample size. Sometimes we get evidence months or years later, and not directly from them, either.
There were people who were convinced Jikook broke up in 2020, only to find a bunch of cute moments in Memories a year later. As older Army keep reminding me: IT TAKES TIME TO GET A CLEAR PICTURE.
So please stop pressuring me to “see the light.” I really don’t care if you respect my opinions or admire my blog—I’m not out to please you, or anyone (even myself). I promise to always give an honest account of my fan experience and to discuss my ideas in good faith. But what impresses other people doesn’t factor into my choices one whit.
In the end, it’s Jimin and Jungkook's relationship. They have a right to guard it or flaunt it however they like. I have always been in love with their love, but it’s not my place to make demands on them to act a certain way just for my enjoyment or reassurance.
I hope Jimin and Jungkook are together—and if they are not, I hope they are at least happy and fulfilled creatively. I will always support them and all of BTS no matter what.
Now, this has to be the last time we go 'round about this. If you keep insisting that the flood or eating out separately means Jikook can’t be together, I’ll just delete your asks and block you. I hate to do that, but this cyclical argument is not productive.
In fact, it’s getting toxic. It’s almost like you’ve got a solo or Taekooker agenda or something. I’m not sure why you’re so dogged about the idea that Jikook just can’t be together.
So, from here on out, I won’t be typing up three pages of refuting perspective.
If you don’t believe in Jikook, that’s 100% fine by me. It truly, truly is fine by me. I really have nothing to prove, here.
But I’m reserving judgement, and you’re just going to have to make peace with that. I promise to let you know if I ever feel like I have enough data to make a call either way.
Meanwhile, go in peace and have this cute compilation of Jikookery to take with you:

Jadakiss why year released
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s a lot of comparisons when you want to compare to things, but that was one of the ones we were looking at with Freddy vs. Once you heard those footsteps, you knew he was in the area. The Jason character didn’t really say much, but you knew he was there. Freddy was a killer, and he might be a little more witty, cuz he talk more. Jason, where Jason, you knew he was killer. You knew his work and you knew what he do. In January 2017 (before the name change) Fabolous and Jadakiss were interviewed on HipHopDX and Fabolous shared the following: “We got the theme with Freddy vs. Jason, the mixtape name was later changed for legal reasons. Originally slated to be called Freddy vs. As you might guess from the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street references, a horror movie theme inspired the album. The track is from the album Friday on Elm Street, a mixtape collaboration between rappers Fabolous and Jadakiss. And we already know the show has been renewed for season 6, so plenty more to come. The episode sets up another season of high stakes drama on Power. It's a beautiful thing that I earned that. When Dre sticks the Cartel's cards inside Ghost…Ĭlosing out the episode, the song plays while Ghost gets an ominous warning as he’s grieving his daughter. I'm in a senior now, so I'll get that respect from 11th graders and 10th graders. It's like a seniority thing, like being a junior or a sophomore or a freshman. It's still pressure, but it’s a comfortable pressure. I been through the most pressure, working with DMX, working with Biggie, with Jay Z, with Nas. Our comfort level is at an all time high. Is there a comfort level you have working with guys like that? You’ve got features on Ignatius from rappers like Pusha T and Rick Ross, guys who have has similar experiences to yours, been through these different stages, and are at high levels in their career now like you. It’s the same process, with a little digital seasoning to it. My son was heavily involved with this project, but he was able to forsee it because he knew Pick as well, as he grew up. You gotta damn near combine it now, whereas in the Kiss Of Death days, I could get a beat from Alchemist and they were going to love it because that's what it is. You need some young people there you need some old people that know about musicians and instruments. But now the game is so fickle, so instant, so microwave. I could get the beat from a producer and I could create. In those days, I didn't need many people there.
Tumblr media
When you’re creating now, how much has changed for you since 2004’s Kiss Of Death, which Jackson co-executive produced? You’ve been a major label solo artist for longer than the entirety of most other rappers’ careers. I kept a tight knit staff with me doing it, a group of individuals that he loved. That helped me through the process, as opposed to trying to explain it to somebody why I'm doing this this way or why I'm making this type of feeling song. I tried to keep people around that knew Pick, that really, really knew him. He felt it too, ‘cause he is the same, like family. So that gave me some help in making the project because I wasn’t on my own. He knew Pick like us, so it made it much easier to articulate things. He also did the 2 Chainz record He's been with The Lox and myself for 15, 20 years now, so he’s my brother. Poobs, my engineer and producer was right there. When you were making this album with these very personal songs, who was around you? This is my real chance to ventilate and exhale, cry and laugh and reminisce and all the things you do. Do you see Ignatius as part of your grieving process?

have you ever read a detailed post about the glee cast’s singing voices? like all about their technique and stuff? reading your reaction to the ‘vocal coach reacts to glee’ video makes me want to know more!
Hmmmm, not really! Not from a professional vocalist POV, I don’t think.  (That I’m aware of.  This does remind me there was one vocal coach in fandom, and she hated Blaine, and I wasn’t too fond of her, or her analysis, so I won’t point you in that direction.)
My background is in music, but not in vocal performance.  But I can give you a quick rundown of cast’s musical abilities if you like, though they won’t be huge on the technical side of it.
ETA: I started this a while ago before I started doing the music retrospective - I’ll probably try to explore a little more as I do those.   If you guys want more conversation about one person in particular, let me know!
But for now...
*
Matthew Morrison: Is a classically trained musician with a very good voice.  It’s a shame Will was such a tool, because Matthew Morrison was very talented, had the ability to do a lot of great things with his voice.  People joke about his rapping -- but I think this stemmed from the issue that his background is in musical theater -- which teaches you a cleaner and more traditional way of singing -- opposed to a pop or rap style.  He doesn’t have the grit that rap often has, which makes it a little too much like a Kid’s Bop version of something.  When singing musical theater, though, he really shined.
A number that showcases ability: Make ‘Um Laugh
A number that isn’t so great: Ice Ice Baby
*
Lea Michele: Lea does have a very good and solid voice.  She’s also been classically trained.  The one drawback is that it hinders her a bit on pop music, she lacks some of the grittiness often needed on a lot of the pop songs.  She also starts to lose some of her classic training as the show goes on (which I think is a shame) so that she can get some of the shine off her voice to make a transition to pop music.
She has one vocal tick that drives me crazy, though -- she has a tendency to slide into her notes instead of hitting them dead on, which gets worse as the show goes on, and it makes her sound a little screech-y at times.  But for the most part -- she is really good.
A number that showcases ability: Don’t Rain on My Parade
A number that isn’t so great: Ooops...I Did It Again
*
Amber Riley: The cool thing about Amber is that you get to hear her grow as a musician as the show goes on.  She had already started to get vocal lessons before the show started, but at the beginning, she was still a bit raw and unrefined in her technique.  But you can tell she did practice, and her voice is developed beautifully as the show goes on.  She was one of the best, well rounded vocalists on the show.  She had a good handle on pop and R&B music, but she could sing musical theater rather clearly, too.  She has great breath support - and can belt numbers out while still retaining the quality.  Can’t say enough good thing about Amber’s voice.
A number that showcases ability: Someday We’ll Be Together
A number that isn’t so great: Sweet Transvestite (It’s not bad - but it’s my least favorite Mercedes solo.)
*
Cory Monteith: Cory wasn’t a vocalist.  And, to be completely honest, I thought it was some kind of joke when they introduced him as some kind of hidden musical gem when Will hears him singing the showers.  He did really well with classic rock that’s allows not only for a weaker voice - but is often not as technically hard.  And I have to wonder if Cory got lessons, because he did get a lot better as the show went on, and I think his season 4 work is great!
I will say that sometimes they pushed his voice a little too far.  A lot of times songs were either too high for his range and he often sounded like he was straining.  (The most notable of which is A House is Not a Home - which is far too high for him.)  That said - I think he did reasonably well along side Lea - mostly because often sang pop duets.
A number that showcases ability: I’ve Gotta Be Me
A number that isn’t so great: Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore
*
Chris Colfer: Chris is such an interesting study due to the uniqueness of his voice.  He’s got a huge range both in terms of genre and literal range of voice.  He can sing quite a few octaves.  He’s got a great, clear sound, too, which is why he’s great with theater numbers.  Interestingly, Chris’s voice did drop over the years, and while I know people love his higher range, he has a gorgeous lower range that wasn’t used as often (and is often my favorite.)
The one (nitpicky) issue was that Chris’s voice ended up getting pigeon-holed.  I know singing Diva-Broadway songs was his schtick - but it would have been nice to hear him sing a bigger variety of songs.  He wasn’t the strongest on non-ballad pop music, but they also didnt give him that very often.
There’s also the fascinating unusualness in that, Chris could really sing duets very well with people -- but in group numbers, his voice sticks out like a sore thumb, and he was often left out of some of the more general songs because of it.  His voice just doesn’t texture very well - which is why I get why they did what they did.
A number that showcases ability: Being Alive
A number that isn’t so great: I’ll Remember
*
Kevin McHale: I feel like people are often surprised when they sit down and think about it, but Kevin has a great voice.  He has a solid range, and he’s able to do pop music very well (I believe it helps that he was in a professional boy band for years.)  Not sure if people noticed - but he’s often the lead on group numbers that don’t need to be related to specific story or character points.  Which is a bummer for Artie’s story - but if you’re a fan of Kevin’s voice, you get a lot to choose from.
Kevin was also able to handle a lot of the musical demands that I think some of the other males weren’t? He’s a much better singer than Cory - and could handle leading a full number.  His voice isn’t as unique as Chris’s and can texture really well.  In addition he was fairly versatile.  He might have been the best rapper the show had, lol.
A number that showcases ability: For Once In My Life
A number that isn’t so great: Addicted to Love (personal taste choice - I just don’t like the song.)
*
Jenna Ushkowitz: Jenna is another one who is classically trained.  She has a strong, solid voice, which was unfortunately not showcased all that well on the show, and because of that, I’m not sure how she does on a wide variety of music.  I do think she sounds a little generic - but not helping is lack of being featured.
A number that showcases ability: I Don’t Know How To Love Him
A number that isn’t so great: Gangum Style (She does fine - but the fact that they made her do it in the first place...)
*
Dianna Agron: The interesting thing about Dianna is that she has a really nice low female voice.  The fact that they never gave her any punk or harder rock was really a shame, because I think she would have done really well with that.  The funny thing is that, more so in the beginning, they show tried to make her sing songs that fit her character - but weren’t necessarily great for her voice.  I feel like it wasn’t until late season 2 did they start really using her voice for the better.
A number that showcases ability: Never Can Say Goodbye
A number that isn’t so great: It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World
*
Mark Salling: Mark had a really solid voice - that often lent itself well to folk and acoustic really well.  He was good with softer pop and classic rock, and the show showcased that pretty well.  I think, in general, Mark was a much better vocalist than actor, and the show often picked good music for him to sing - which helped with his character.  I don’t have a whole lot to say, only that I think he was underrated as a vocalist, but I get it - with all the other baggage that comes with talking about Mark.
A number that showcases ability: No Surrender
A number that isn’t so great: Fight For Your Right (to Party) (I don’t think it’s bad - I just hate this song.)
*
Naya Rivera: Naya is a little tricky.  I think she has a good, smoky sound to her voice that makes her excellent at things like pop and R and B.  (Shame she didn’t have a good jazz number to do on the show - she would have been great at that.)  I think she was really versatile, though, and handled her Broadway numbers really well.  I do think she was somewhat pinched and nasal at times - and while I do think this was a stylistic choice, to me it’s not my favorite type of vocal sound.  But I do think she was really good at the numbers she was given, and was one of the most talented female vocalists on the show.
A number that showcases ability: Back to Black
A number that isn’t so great: Alfie (I think I may dislike the song more than her singing on it.)
*
Heather Morris: Heather wasn’t a singer, and I do think it showed at times.  She often had to have her voice autotuned more than anyone else on the show.  That said - she did do Britney Spears really well, and I think she deserves credit for that.
A number that showcases ability: I’m a Slave 4 U
A number that isn’t so great: Dinosaur
*
Chord Overstreet: Chord’s background is in country - and that shows a bit through his singing - he’s got a bit of twang in his voice, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing.  He’s a fun singer.  I don’t think the show knew exactly what to do with him (voice or character) but there’s a lightness to his singing that makes him easily adaptable to pretty much anything you throw at him.
A number that showcases ability: Red Solo Cup (You think I’m joking - but I think this is the most fun Chord has singing a song.)
A number that isn’t so great: Girls on Film (I think just by default of me liking everything else better.)
*
Darren Criss: Ah, Darren, where to even start.  The thing about Darren is that he may not be the strongest singer, his voice is a little wobbly at times, and his range is somewhat limited, but his showmanship is just completely beyond nearly everyone else.  Darren has the unique ability to draw you in with his singing and hold you captive.  There are technically better singers on the show - but Darren just has this amazing ability to really sell a performance.  And I do love his voice, even if there are some limitations to it.  I really could gush about Darren’s performance abilities, but I’ll refrain...
A number that showcases ability: Teenage Dream (Both Versions)
A number that isn’t so great: Piano Man (Which isn’t bad - I just think the show had done it better, and it’s a rare time that felt like Darren was kind of phoning it in.)
*
A quick run down of others, but first a quick aside - as they started adding people in, vocal ability starts being a factor.  I think a lot of the newer characters could sing better than they could act, which was both helpful and a hinderance.  I think we began to get more solid musical numbers as the show went on, but sometimes acting wasn’t always top notch - and across the board, old and new, hitting a combo of acting and singing ability didn’t always happen.
Harry Shum Jr.: Not really a singer - but the show often played to his strengths, and his few songs played off the fact that he wasn’t a great singer to great aplomb.
Jane Lynch: Can hold a tune, even if her voice isn’t the best - is really great at musical comedy.
Jayma Mays: She has more singing ability than the show allowed to showcase, however, she’s another one whose voice was really unique, and doesn’t texture very well.
Damien McGinty: Is actually a very good singer.  However, he’s very generic, too - which makes him a little on the bland side.
Sam Larsen: I think he was fine - I don’t think he sang enough on the show for me to make much of an impression one way or the other.
Alex Newel: Fucking Fantastic! Alex might be one of the strongest vocalists on the show - has great range, energy, and vocal control.
Melissa Benoist: Her voice tends to lean on the pop-ier side, but it’s a solid voice, and her work on the show was pretty good.
Jacob Artist: Has a strong voice, and could sing genres that weren’t often featured on the show (like hip-hop and R&B).
Blake Jenner: His voice is fine, but like Damien McGinty, it’s generic and a little bland.
Becca Tobin: She has a very quirky voice that brings in a different and unique sound.  They didn’t use her much, though, so it’s hard to comment.
Noah Guthrie: An amazing singer, has a really unique sound, but is able to do blend in well with others.
Samantha Ware: Another amazing singer.  She’s in full control and can do really great things with it.
Billy Lewis Jr: Has a good, solid voice.  Not as strong as Guthrie, or some of the other guys, but he’s a lot of fun to watch.
Laura Dreyfuss: Like Becca Tobin - has a uniqueness to her vocal quality that makes it stand out a little, but she’s still a solid singer.
Marshall Williams: His vocal ability is okay.  It’s better than his acting ability.  I’m slightly confused how this dude got cast, tbh.

Sylki’s Theme Music
I don’t know if anyone’s talked about this yet, but in case anyone hasn’t, I will.
In large franchises, where two protagonists fall in love, there’s usually an entire theme song dedicated to them.
This happened at least twice in Star Wars - Across the Stars is for Anakin and Padme, while Han Solo and the Princess is for who else but Han and Leia, obviously. Composer John Williams wastes no time bringing this theme up whenever possible when Han and Leia have a moment.
Not even Dreamworks shies away from this - one example I can clearly remember is the first How To Train Your Dragon film, where there is a track explicitly titled Romantic Flight, where our inadvertent hero-to-be Hiccup and his crush Astrid are taken for a relaxing and no doubt romantic flight above the clouds at dusk. Composer John Powell also doesn’t hesitate to remind us of this theme both throughout the franchise, the series included. (Another might be For The Dancing and the Dreaming in HTTYD2 that’s basically Stoick and Valka’s reunion song.)
Now, having said that, I have to point out that twice in the LOKI series, there’s this little theme.
Titled Pep Talk, it first makes its debut in Episode 4, where after Sylvie discards the decapitated head of one of the animatronic Timekeepers, she proceeds to stand there awkwardly while Loki makes an attempt to get real honest with her. Though in reality it’s only a couple of notes, it’s being played in two phrases (0:00-0:35 and 0:36-0:50), by two very distinct instruments, both of them playing a mysterious melody in a minor key but in high tones, possibly to portray their romantic innocence and to give us a taste of what is yet to come. It only takes up the first 50 seconds of the track:
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=01YTt0MQgUk&list=OLAK5uy_kkdeYskELn5tfrjBn0fBEVUtyLyNJCYq0
But do pay attention to the 6-note mini-phrase that starts around 0:36.
Because, it pops up again, in the track titled Stop in Episode 6 during THAT scene where Loki tells Sylvie all he wants is for her to be okay.
This two-phrase theme, which I must reiterate debuts in Pep Talk, makes its second but non-repeated appearance in the first 35 seconds of Stop.
Check it out:
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ulWCRAWn_ms&list=OLAK5uy_kkdeYskELn5tfrjBn0fBEVUtyLyNJCYq0
The first 17 seconds are only a reminder of the theme that first played when a very nervous Loki takes hold of Sylvie’s shoulders in the Timekeeper’s chambers in Ep4, and then, from 0:18-0:30, it is also a reiteration, though not a repetition, that tells us that yeah, there’s something real romantic coming up. It’s pretty similar, because 0:30-0:37 is the lead up to The Kiss (you know the one) in which the entire orchestra is called up for a sweeping romantic theme. But it’s not 0:30-0:37 that I want to talk about. It’s literally the first 30 seconds I want y’all to pay attention to. This time there’s a quiet but persistent bass line, unlike Pep Talk.
In short, these two tracks (0:00-0:50 of Episode 4′s Pep Talk and 0:00-0:30 of Episode 6′s Stop) are the only times in the soundtrack as a whole that this exact thematic melody is played (though I gotta admit, Ep6′s one is by far the more romantic variant of Ep4′s one, see what I did there?).
Meaning, that since Natalie Holt went all the way to introduce us to a musical theme that depicts the romance between Loki and Sylvie that pops up in not just one but TWO separate tracks, it would not be too far off for her to not just be hired again for Season 2 but also consequently develop AN ENTIRE TRACK dedicated to our favorite soulmates, Loki and Sylvie.
I’m not expecting this to happen, but if we’re talking about patterns here, what happens twice is bound to happen a third time, with the third time being the best one there ever is going to be.
And we know that sometime during S2 Loki and Sylvie are inevitably going to reunite, but how, when, and where remains an unknown for now. Perhaps it might not play when they reunite, but perhaps between a far happier moment for the two of them.
What I’m saying, is that once you give an onscreen couple a musical theme that plays not once but twice, with the second time being more romantic than the first, the third time is bound to be the most epically romantic shit you’ll ever hear in your lifetime.
So to all y’all Sylki fans out there, that’s something to look forward to.

Idols, Flowers, Dolls
I back again with another uhm review???
im not sure if its reviewed cause i don't trust my feelings (but still write shinenigans) ya might agree or not this is just a perspective of a simple brain rotter fan lol
so thanks for my fave seiyuu being in a bunch of seiyuu projects (idol or what) I am currently into 2d idols lol I'm just a new fan too but the songs are muah
I decided to make an entry about
Hanadoll
Tumblr media
of course why I know this is because my fave is here lol but this idol project is interesting cause its has mystery and such. pretty (I am not sure if pretty is the right word lol maybe really) Angst and dark lol.
so lil bit summary a certain Agency or production company called Amagiri production. working there is not easy. a very competitive company. with strict rules, regulations, ranking, and test. one simple violation will lose your contract (yes very toxic company lol)
They aim the Perfect Idols using the latest technology. and that is planting a flower inside of a person. and now they choose 6 chosen new idols to get that treatment.
Toudo Lihito(CV:Itou Kent), Kagekawa Ryoga(CV:Hamano Daiki), Yuki Mahiro(CV:Yamashita Seiichiro), Kisaragi Kaoru(CV: Toki Shunichi), Kiyose Haruta(CV: Masuda Toshiki), Chise(CV: Komada Wataru)
Setsuna Yashiro(CV: Shun Horie) is their new member he was released at season 2
I still don't know much about the story lol but according to fans that can the mv's they released has clues about the stories. that's why I am interested (all I can do for now is cry tho cause I really need to level up my jp vocabulary and currently slacking lol). tho I think they are the only idol project I encounter that caters to their international fans (don't trust me currently i just meet around 15 I guess...) not all is translated tho lol only the introduction rn.
Music
Finally here lol so about the songs (yall already know how I love this lol no need a one-page essay for it lol) Its Electro music, the beats and everything is so modern and techy feel. i can't pinpoint the genre cause the mood of each songs are different like there is a dark and angst feel, a bit heavy there is also a bit soft and courting type, and dance feels too lol.
ok about singers (I will try my best not create a one-pager of how I love ryoga/hamano san lol) Mostly hamano san uses his raping skills in their songs but in his solo OMG THE CHORUS MUAH MUAH. most of the lyrics are in English (and man he is so fluent for me don't touch me)
Next is Itou san I knew him in hypmic and I knew him as powerful rapper lol. i am amazed he can hit that light but high notes. he's is amazing I register him also as camouflage va. him hitting those high notes muah
another hypmic va Komada san another shock for me lol. i am just used to him being jyuto lol. i also almost cant recognize its him lol
my brain keep thinking i knew i have heard him somewhere lol and yah he is toki, yuki's va from a3. i love his relaxing soft voice. perfect for his character
i actually don't know Yamashita san and Masuda san(tho i might saw his name somewhere i dunno where lol) i also like their singing especially solo cause its different genre
Shun san even tho he is late to be added he seems blended well to the group (well in terms of the songs lol cause i have no idea about the story) he also reaching itou's light high notes in his solo lol.
btw we don't talk about the live concert
ok i wanna talk about this one actually because its so amazing (I'm sorry hamano san but they are so enchanting help)
there is also a unit called Loulou*di, they are the first one to receive the treatment. consist of 3 people: Karasuma Ageha(CV: Toyonaga Toshiyuki), Hinagi Rui(CV: Takeuchi Shunsuke), Sakurai Toki(CV: Yamashita Daiki)
they are used opera type genre with hint of electro. its so enchanting too. gives me shivers sometimes. i really love the combination and timing of the lyrics. and also in their album Pensee man they are taking 5 languages in a song talk about Mr. worldwide They deserve it!
I also knew all of them lol Homare, Juza from a3 and Kirio from idolmaster sideM (i actually shock he is kirio of sai lol the difference, the gap, i still cant believe). TakeP using his opera singer mom's skills a Toyonaga san man i knew he is amazing when heared some a3 songs like es no Yuutsu.
i will say it again their songs are so enchanting. its not your ordinary idol unit cause they are not singing just to make smile or something. its angelic but there's is also a feel of darkness. its enchanting but i feel heart-wrenching. lol when did i become so poetical. so yah they are so different it's extraordinary just like the amagiri prod wanted i guest....
more about them they have youtube, twitter(each unit has twitter), website, Instagram and even tiktok(lmao)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxAHYHVXlnenUHmGzt4HOTA/
https://twitter.com/Amagiri_Prod
https://hana-doll.com/
https://www.instagram.com/amagiri_production/
https://www.tiktok.com/@amagiri_production
so that's all for idol entry #1 don't worry i will still make seiyuu entries it just so happened im crying in the songs he sang lol

When quack-meister was talking about defending the country 'n stuff he mentioned about learning from a pvper... see now I'm a person that likes reaching and I've been lurkin' ur blog for a bit now ( I enjoy your takes a lot :D ) and dare I say.. looter boy reporting for lore..? maybe.. ? It's definitely a reach but maybe this is how H gets back into lore? He did mention returning to the smp soon-ish ( i think ) c!hbomb i want to see you live... - Instyle
Hi Instyle Anon I love you /p
My favorite thing is to make *slight* reach about Hbomb lore that are still somewhat rooted in known facts/canon, and I'm gonna tell you right now, with confidence :D H being involved in Las Nevadas' plot or future DSMP plots, aren't that far-fetched :D
You see you see, while Mister Hbomb Ninety Four isn't *technically* a PvPer, he is by far the worse. In fact, metawise, he's one of the *better* PvPers on the server. Like I talked about this with my friends a lot but, cc!H as a Minecrafter isn't half bad at it, he was one of the people who dealt the most damage to Dream in Dream's Fighting 25 Youtubers video, he's done well in MCC Battle Box, he could definitely hold his ground against at least half of the server. Not to mention, Hbomb has been a coach for a while, so like, teaching Big Q PvP? Why not :D He's more than capable :D
And another meta thing? cc!Quackity said he reached out for people who don't have a lot of lore. H is always involved in lore in the background, but doesn't do a lot of like, solo lore himself, so he is definitely a good contender for c!Quackity to reach out to. And yeah, H definitely did mention/hint that he would return to the DSMP so hype for that! (Also H logged onto the SMP during Fundy's stream after a while not being on - I don't remember which one, but it was either the stream where he first joined Las Nevadas, or the one right after it - and I don't wanna get your hope up, but hey :) It might mean something :D). Also! Also he's in Ponk's lore teaser, so he's definitely gonna be in future lore :D
Ok that's the meta/ooc thing out of the way, here's in-character reasons H might/should get involved into the plot :D
1. c!H has been involved in almost every single major plotlines on the DSMP in Season 2 and 3, except for the prison plot.
c!H is someone who is always in the background of every major events, for two reasons.
a. He wants to be around people and naturally gravitates toward a community. This makes him sad dring Doomsday, because he saw how the server, how people and the community he longs to have, were torn apart. But this makes him come back to help Tubbo and Tommy, because at the end of the day, H still knew and saw them as "people", flawed, did things that hurt him, but still people who needed and deserved his help. Even when he's alone, he still helps people and thinks about his friends.
b. He's just... there in the events with a bunch of people. (Which, I guess, is more like... an extension of the first reason lmao). c!H wants to party /hj. So like, where has a bunch of people right now who's doing lore??? Las Nevadas. Not to mention, it's a casino. It's a whole party. c!H is gonna want to be there!
2. c!Hbomb is pretty good at calling out when people are not being kind/when people are wrong.
c!H is pretty observant and mostly objective, and he is the type of person who will not let himself or his friends be walked over or manipulative. The most notable example is when he said that c!Tommy is not nice to him (which is true, c!Tommy has the tendency to be rude and bully H), and when he called out Niki for her reaction to Tommy (citing that she was doing a bad thing to Tommy, and it wouldn't lead to good things).
In Las Nevadas situation right now, there are two people/situation who need to be called out: Tubbo and Ranboo (or the cookie post situation) and Quackity (the manipulation of the rest of Las Nevadas). c!H can definitely call out the malicious intent and unfair suspicion c!Tubbo casts upon Las Nevadas as well as c!Ranboo's complete lack of spine and hypocricy. But he can also definitely see how Quackity is using the Las Nevadas crew's vulnerability to manipulate them, and because he is close to Fundy, and Foolish (although to a lesser extent), he can probably approach them and talk to them about that. He did cautioned Niki on Wilbur possibly using her to fight his battle for him, so it's not unreasonable to think he would do similar thing with Fundy and Foolish.
3. On that notes, c!H is kind, not nice. He can and will fight for the people he support.
Most notable example is H helping Eret taking down Mexican L'Manberg when they attacked Eret's kingship - because it is the right thing to do, it is what H considered to be both justice and supporting his friend.
Second example is H helping during the Finale of Season 2, because protecting Tommy and Tubbo, joining the server against Dream, was the right thing to do. At that point, he has left the main part of the DSMP, but he returned and fought. Because he understood the importance and fighting for what is right.
This means that when he sees a cause to fight for, in this case, his friends (Fundy and Foolish), he will help them and fight for them. c!H is probably the best example of "choose people, not sides" because he understand choosing people means standing by their sides, and fight with them.
And lastly?
4. cc!Hbomb said he'd rather be a support character. But hey, H, there are some people in Las Nevadas who are in desperate need of some Hbomb-certified support.

Chuck Fic Rec List: Updated
So my fic rec post was in my notifs again the other day, and I noticed a while back that the formatting on the post has gotten all messed up and it’s also had like three reblog additions to it anyway meaning there are three versions out there lol. so, I wanted to do another list of chuck fic recs! I’ll keep the other one up still, so I’m not gonna repeat every fic here, just some I really recommend. I’m also adding the fic summaries, which I didn’t on the old post, and some more of my own opinions so, buckle up for a long post!
Chuck Versus the Steampunk Chronicles | Steampunk.Chuckster
1896. A world powered by steam, where humans and machines coexist, and airships are the fashionable mode of transport. The US Empire's deepest and darkest secrets arrive at Chuck Bartowski's doorstep. Have they fallen into the wrong hands? Or will the inventor prove his mettle, even while he's forced to hide from the very people he's protecting? AU, ongoing chronicle, Charah.
A genuinely incredible AU story, with an entire crafted world and universe, so detailed it frequently blows my mind. There is heart and family and infuriatingly brilliant slow-burn, plus a buttload of danger and super fun historical/steampunk action. Oh how I LOVE it.
Chuck vs the Charade | somedeepmystery
When computer nerd Chuck Bartowski returns home to an empty apartment and a dead girlfriend he finds himself embroiled in a deadly game of espionage and deceit. Everyone around him is playing a part to get what they want and when he starts falling for the new woman in his life, he can't help but wonder if he can trust her or if she's the one he should fear the most.
An action and twist-filled AU based on the movie Charade, which is just such a brilliant fic concept I absolutely adored it from the start.
Two Sides of the Same Coin | dettiot
When you're a spy, there's all kinds of occupational hazards when you work with another spy. For Sarah Walker, though, one mission becomes a life-changing experience. Because working with Charles Carmichael leads to protecting Chuck Bartowski.
The first time I read this fic my mind was just blown to its genius. Such a brilliant interpretation of what the Intersect and its concepts set up in the show could be, and ooooof the Chuck/Sarah interactions, my HEART. Related to it, its companion piece:
A Flip of the Coin | dettiot
What made Charles Carmichael agree to become Chuck Bartowski? Well, to start, it wasn't as much of a change as you'd think. A companion to the early chapters of Two Sides of the Same Coin from Carmichael's perspective.
Chuck vs The Butterfly Effect | n7agentbartowski
Chuck Bartowski is a normal guy who just hit rock bottom. No girlfriend, no career and no super computer stuck inside his head. It isn't until Chuck meets a gorgeous stranger on the beach that he begins to think his life is about to change for the better. An AU Chuck fic without the Intersect. "Change one thing and it changes everything."
I said it on the OG post, but this story has one of my top 5 Chuck/Sarah fic meetings. So funny, so... very Chuck. The story is a little angsty overall, but a great read.
Chuck vs the Rogue Spy | Crumby
When a rogue spy from Chuck Bartowski's past shows up to help him during his first solo mission, Chuck hopes that he'll finally find out what happened to Sarah Walker. Post-S2 AU.
There’s a lot of Season 3 fix-it fics out there, which I don’t usually read bc I actually love season 3 lol, but this one’s a good one! A twisty deviation from canon, but still feels really true to character.
Chuck Versus the Nerds Rewrite | Steampunk.Chuckster and David Carner
What happens when two nerds talk endless hours about their favorite TV show? A new take on the show you know, but with the flair, twists, and turns you've come to expect from Steampunk . Chuckster and david . carner. Somewhat canon. Charah.
As the summary says, a different take on the show, which honestly makes a couple changes I would too, but also adds a bunch of fun twists and plots that make it totally new and fresh. Seeing Chuck and Sarah’s thoughts in the more canon sections is just delicious, too.
The Trapped Assassin | SarahsSupplyCloset
After a mission goes awry, the CIA's most lethal assassin is ordered to take vacation while her superiors figure out what to do with her. But when she meets a disarming tourist, their immediate connection only adds to her disillusionment with the agency and her career. Will he be enough for her to finally take the plunge and leave the only life she's ever known? Charah AU
A warning for the very justified M rating if you don’t like that sort of thing, but this is definitely a plot-heavy fic, too. A really neat Sarah-heavy AU, with a whole lotta Chuck/Sarah fancy French vacationy goodness.
Chuck vs the Second Chance | malamoo
AU from mid-season 2 and onwards. Chuck and Sarah part ways only to be reunited years later. COMPLETE.
Literal, crying-at-my-screen angst. Not even a super happy ending. But a brilliantly written, part-reflective/flashback fic, exploring what would’ve happened if Chuck and Sarah’s relationship really was an assignment all along-- and the aftermath. It’s heartbreaking. But if you want a little heartbreak, this is your fic.
Ready at Your Hand | dettiot
In the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, a Catholic plot against the queen comes to the attention of spymaster Sir Francis Walsingham. To protect Elizabeth, he develops an unusual plan: hide the passing of intelligence between two agents by a false romance. When Lady Sarah Walker and Chuck Carmichael meet, though, their pretend flirtation becomes much more.
I love Chuck fic for the very reason that it’s inspired such adventurous and totally unique AUs. Here’s some Elizabethan fake-dating Chuck and Sarah! They have to be so Proper, it’s like that hand moment from Pride and Prejudice but Elizabethan and times a billion. The pining!!
Sarah Versus Getting Married | Steampunk.Chuckster
Sarah Walker is getting married. Canon. Charah.
I’d recommend all of SC’s fics if I had the room, and I’m already recommending a ton sksks but most of my fic recs are AUs, and this one isn’t! It’s canon, and covers some of in the gap in 4x24, with Sarah just before the wedding itself. Super sweet, heart-tugging, brilliant.
A Chuckmas Carol | Mikki13
A new twist to Dickens' beloved "A Christmas Carol". When Sarah begins to shut out the world around her, three spirits come to show her the error of her ways. Season 3 AU.
Another Season 3 AU, this one written pre-series so it definitely doesn’t fit to canon, but it’s still wonderfully rich in character depth and angst and it also made me cry. Plus, festive!
Chuck Versus Thin Ice | Steampunk.Chuckster
On the doorstep of the Olympics, top American curler Sarah Walker has lost her mixed doubles partner and her boyfriend in one fell swoop. Her coaches throw newbie Team U.S.A. curler Chuck Bartowski onto her team and thrust them into the Olympics, hanging America's curling hopes on two people who only have a short amount of time to learn to trust one another. Charah AU.
Do you like curling? Or the Winter Olympics? It doesn’t really matter because somehow this fic made me extremely invested in both of those things, as well as Chuck and Sarah and them being INSUFFERABLE. Catch me now knowing a ton about curling thanks to this fic.
Walker’s Eleven | Moonlight Pilot
Not the same plot as the movie. Sarah Walker never got out of the con game or became a spy, and now she's on her final con. What happens when true love and betrayal get added to the mix? Twists, turns, and Jeffster!
Con!Sarah always interests me, and this fic is full of her. Lotta con plot, lotta Chuck and Sarah.
The Detective and the Tech Guy | thecharleses
Sarah Walker is a Pinkerton detective. Chuck Bartowski is an electronics genius. They wouldn't have met except for a case of mistaken identity and murder. Will the detective and the tech guy solve the mystery, distracted by the riddle in their own hearts? An homage to The Thin Man film series. Formerly co-written by Steampunk . Chuckster and dettiot, now ONLY Steampunk . Chuckster.
Everyone in this fic is so damn cool. There are so many martinis. But also great heart and family and like, standing up for who you love, and later also Chuck with Baby Clara content which frankly the show robbed us of. Also, PI!Sarah!!!
Gravity | Poetic4U
AU. Sarah makes a decision that altered her life forever.
This is just a one-shot, which many of these stories are not, so a good one if you don’t fancy a big read! Just because it’s short, though, doesn’t mean it’s lacking; a really awesome what-if AU, and heavy on the Chuck and Sarah.
A Yuletie Tale | Steampunk.Chuckster
Sarah Walker was dumped the day before Christmas Eve, and her Plus One at her work’s annual Christmas Eve Soiree is now officially a Plus Zero. Her best friend Ellie Bartowski has a solution to her problem, and Sarah finds she isn’t quite as sure about it as Ellie is. AU Christmas Charah.
I’m particularly in love with this fic because, instead of beginning with a meet-cute, it involves Chuck and Sarah already two years into a friendship-- Sarah is Ellie’s best friend. And she’s been crushing harrrd on Ellie’s brother. Also Chuck is in a tux. It’s pretty.
Set, Spike, Dive! | Frea O’Scanlin
Chuck never expected to even make it to the Olympics. Everything is working against him: he's too tall for a diver, too inexperienced for a medal, too much of a wildcard to really make his mark. But an unexpected meeting at the airport, some intriguing new friends, and a whirlwind romance on the sand just might set up London 2012 as the time of Chuck Bartowski's life.
A London 2012 AU, because why not. This is just a fun Olympic-y ride!
OTP (One True Pairing) Prompts | David Carner
A series of Prompts I found online about different times and places in Chuck and Sarah's life. Mostly AU, mostly one-shots. I assume mostly fluff, but I might get deep. I doubt it, it's me. Charah...ALWAYS (It says complete, but if an idea strikes me...)
If you’re not so into long stories, this fic is perfect. Individual set-ups and stories, all Chuck and Sarah, and all super cute. You could dip in and out and just pick a scenario you enjoy.
Chuck vs The Frontier | ninjaVanish
AU: Chuck was enjoying a simple life as a 19th century watchmaker until an encounter with a beautiful Secret Service agent thrust him into a world of intrigue and adventure he never wanted. But then, with Agent Walker around, it can't be all bad, can it?
This fic gets props for being historically-set but still including the Intersect. Again, a historical AU, so the pining!! the need to be Proper!!! But besides all that, there’s a lot of action fun as well.
Chuck Versus The Crosswalk: Remastered | WvonB
Will a last minute mission help our two favorite characters finally get together? This is the remastered version of my first story.
The original version of this fic is on my first list; this is the updated version! It’s not a complete AU, instead a story that diverges from canon, so if you’re more into canon characters and setting than a new AU scenario, this is a great fic for that.
Little Girls, Paper Wreaths, and Choc Chip Cookies | DanaPAH
Very AU: Sarah Walker is a single mother whose Christmas spirit needs a boost after a tough divorce. She isn't quite ready to go looking for romance, but her little daughter's affection for their new neighbor may lure it right to her doorstep, anyway.
An incredibly sweet AU one-shot where Chuck and Sarah are new neighbours, and Sarah has a super cute little girl. So much sweetness and love and hope. I love this fic so much it literally led me to write my own neighbour-kid-AU, so, not to toot my own horn but I’ll link it here anyway.
May Your Walls Know Joy | halfachance
Looking for a fresh start after some tough times, Sarah and her three-year-old daughter move to LA. When they meet a sweet curly-haired nerd who lives next door, though, Sarah realizes they might just find more happiness than they'd ever imagined, if only her past doesn't catch up to her first. AU.
It’s what the summary says; if you wanna read, feel free!
Chuck vs the Sound of Music | quistie64
AU. Chuck, nerd extraordinaire, is a man with seven children and Sarah must protect them all from Fulcrum's evil designs. Warning: there will be singing.
I mean. Not much mystery as to the concept with that title and summary lol, but this is a super fun, soft ride with a lotta sweetness, and yes, singing.
Just Two People | David Carner
Meet Sarah Walker PhD, Psychologist, specializing in personality traits. Meet Chuck Bartowski, man who has left THE electronic company of 2020. When Burton Consultants tries to figure out what is wrong with the morale of Orion Industries, what happens when a guy named Chuck meets a woman named Sarah. I'll give you a hint, it's me writing.
David’s done something pretty special with this fic. It’s Chuck and Sarah centric, but very much an ensemble piece, too, with a lot of Team Bartowski and other familiar faces throughout.
Chuck Versus the Con Game | Steampunk.Chuckster
AU. Chuck and Sarah are partners in the con game. It's an existence wrought with danger and violence. Every day could be their last. Every mission could be the end of the line.
This is where I freak out SC and declare this fic the reason I ever got hooked on Chuck fic and then wrote Chuck fic, and the reason I still love it today but. that is true lol. Just so. so good. It’s also written with the chapters out of chronological order, which is super fun from a reading perspective. But con!Sarah AND con!Chuck?? Best. The kind of fic you will be thinking about for days (if not, y’know, years).
As you can tell by the repeats, I highly recommend just about anything by Steampunk.Chuckster, dettiot, or David Carner, but there are a TON of amazing Chuck fics and authors out there. I’ve never known a writing community so wildly creative-- there are so many unique AUs and canon explorations and story concepts that this show has manifested, and it’s all so much fun.
Most of the Chuck fic community is still over on FFN rather than AO3, so if any of these whet your appetite, feel free to have a browse there for more stories. I’m sure you’ll find something great. Personally, all the incredible writing there has also led me to write a buttload; I’m at halfachance on FFN, so if you see any of my stuff or wanna chat fic, feel free to message me there or here.
Happy reading, folks!

Gleeful Paintbox Project Week 2: Mash-ups  ↳ mash-ups I wish they’d done - Brittana edition
Dancing On My Own/I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Landslide/Everywhere
Explanation under the cut
This week’s prompt is a very good excuse to talk about a concept (or two) that’s been on my mind. My two choices for mashups that Glee could have done are both for Brittana and both partly a reprise of one of their former songs. Both of these mashups already exist, courtesy of Nick Pitera/ Megan and Jaclyn Davies respectively. I recommend checking the songs out as you’re (hopefully) reading this, and I also just made another post where I go more in-depth with the line distributions. For this post though, here’s how I see these scenes going down in Glee and some reasoning behind my choices.
Dancing On My Own/I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Some of you might know that Brittany was going to sing Robyn’s Dancing On My Own in the episode 4x13 “Diva” and Heather Morries even recorded the song but it was ultimately never filmed and thus cut. As a fan of this cover I’ve always been bummed about that but when I heard this slowed-down mashup I knew this was what I truly needed from “Diva”.
So imagine this: after having witnessed Sam and Santana’s dramatic auditorium sing-off and being torn about her own feelings, Brittany starts her sad rendition of Dancing On My Own. She loves Sam but she also still loves Santana and can’t help but feel like, well, like what the song describes. But then we cut to Santana, who’s walking around at McKinley, feeling lost and desperately searching for what this place used to make her feel like. She lingers at the choir room door and starts singing her and Brittany’s Whitney Houston song, I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me). But where it was once an energetic anthem to their love, it now rings hollow.
Santana marches on and as she gets to the end of the I Wanna Dance With Somebody chorus, we cut to Brittany also singing that last line in the auditorium. It is now fully a duet as both sing the bridge and chorus of Dancing On My Own, separated physically within the walls of McKinley but feeling the same longing. And as they reach the end of the chorus, it is now Santana who continues singing Dancing On My Own, cut together with Brittany reminiscing about and singing I Wanna Dance With Somebody as she looks around the auditorium and, like Santana did, remembers what it used to be like. As she finishes the last chorus, Santana also switches back to her original song and arrives at the auditorium just as this sad, mashed up reprise of what was once their upbeat dance love song ends.
Ideally, I would have loved for Brittany to get one last solo and get to do Dancing On My Own on her, well, on her own as was intended. I think it would have been a much-needed Brittany POV moment that expresses how she feels through music and dance. But I also fell in love with this mashup when I heard it and I think it’d be a great musical shorthand to show how disconnected Santana and Brittany feel, and yet how even in that moment they are actually in sync, just in a tragic, “we both know that this isn’t working gonna work” kind of way. It still allows Brittany’s POV space while setting Santana up for leaving Lima behind, for real this time - as well as Brittany. If Mine wasn’t an official breakup, this combined with their as-canon auditorium talk would be.
Landslide/Everywhere
But fear not, we’re jumping ahead a season and reaching the next Brittana milestone - and I’d sell an even bigger portion of my soul for this mashup. I’ve had discussions about the original Landslide cover in 2x15 “Sexy” before and how I firmly believe Holly was needed there, that it shouldn’t and indeed couldn’t have been a pure Brittana duet. It was the very first step for both of them, particularly Santana towards realizing just what they mean to each other and it’s poignant and beautiful in such a personal way I’d find it hard to put into words. And it makes perfect sense that the girls needed Holly to be there as an anchor and a buffer. But that said, I can’t say I wouldn’t love to have a Brittana duet version on Spotify and even when I had this discussion I pondered that I think they should have redone Landslide instead of Valerie in the 100th/101st episode. (Valerie is also a good scene but you know, if I had to pick one.) And then I discovered this amazing mashup and, like with the previous one, I knew this was it.
Let’s set the scene: Brittany kissed Santana with churros in their mouths and Britt has now invited her to the choir room. Just like when Santana asked her to come here before turning Mine into a breakup song, only now the room is filled with lilies, the lesbian of flowers, and instead of breaking up Brittany is here to ask Santana to get back together. She takes a page out of Santana’s book and tries to tell her how she feels through song, because sometimes words just aren’t enough and this is the room that showed them that.
Landslide begins playing and Brittany sings the words they once sang with Holly Holliday. Santana’s unsure but Brittany’s smiling in that playful yet sincere way of hers and this is their song so, tentatively, she joins in. Santana grows more and more confident in the song until the chorus begins and Brittany lets her take lead, lets her sing on her own. Because she could do that two years ago but now wants to sing as loud as she used to in the privacy of her bedroom. Santana would now be ready to do it all without Holly there and even though the New Directions aren’t here to witness it all, it’s still a moment of reflection to think about how far they’ve come The chorus ends and Santana smiles but Brittany has another surprise up her sleeve.
Before the second half of the Landslide chorus can begin, Brittany mixes in another Fleetwood Mac song to mark this new milestone in their journey. She sings “I wanna be with you everywhere” and continues with this Christine McVie song. Just as Songbird was another Fleetwood Mac-related step, they’re coming full circle in their journey. Santana catches on and sings it with Brittany by the end of the first verse. And then, it’s back to Landslide for her, back to those words that’ve been etched into her heart as Santana returns to the Landslide chorus and Brittany continues with the Everywhere one.
Eventually, they’re both singing the Everywhere chorus; a reassurance from both parties. It doesn’t matter if it’s in Lima, New York, Lesbos, Hawaii, they can be together anywhere and everywhere. They want to be, because then Brittany also switches back to Landslide to sing the final verse and remind them both of how far they’ve come, for good measure. They finish the outro together and the lilies scene begins. And now we’re all crying but that’s okay. Children get older but they wanna be with each other everywhere. No more running away and drifting apart.
So, those are my two choices, two mashups to mark milestones in the Brittana relationship. The third, of course, being Hand In My Pocket/I Feel the Earth Move. Well, I do have an idea for yet another one but next time.

It's spooky season AND almost my bday plus my fav holiday. Which MEANS I am allowed to talk about Corpse Bride all I fucking want.
I know, Tim Burton is racist or whatever but I have loved this movie since my infancy therefore shut up. Also warning, I swear a lot.
I will be going over my favourite things, most of them you've probably heard before but I don't care.
1. The music. I'm talking about the piano songs (like duet and the solo), the addition of the organ. I'm a huge fan of it being added into more gothic films like this one and Phantom (OTO). It can add such a more deep and rich feeling to the song along with more lonesome sounds which itch parts of my brain. I also am very good at hearing a re-occurring theme in the background of movies (like angel of music from phantom, and even hearing anybody have a map+good for you in the DEH movie in that 1 scene) Corpse Bride does it too and I am obsessed with it.
2. The look I'm a depressed bitch which means I have the eyebags and slouch which most characters do not have. You get this more naive and child look from Victoria because of her more round face shape unlike Emily who looks more mature from the sharpness along with her height. I also like the oppositeness of V and V's parents. The super tall with the super short and the skinny with the plump. Victor looks like how he acts, well put together but not given the opportunity to fully express his personality therefore the dull colours and simple design unlike Barkis who has ruffles and puffy sleeves out of his jacket. The old wise skeleton man doesn't look like the others, there are holes beginning to form in his bones from lack of calcium. His head is withering away and he has a slouch when he walks. On the other side of the look. The difference between the "upstairs and downstairs" aka the living and the dead. We are first shown the underworld in a fucking bar, with bright colours. Like what. I know it may seem silly to be this excited about colour but it really shows how we as humans are. We are safe and take precautions, we don't do things in fear of consequence or fear of being outcast. Then as we get older we regret this and when we are on our deathbed we really say everything we wish we had done. The dead now party because they have no fears of dread about what's to come. Which leads into another thing.
3. Their personalities The dead literally have more sense of humour then the living. The captain takes Napoleon's? (i think it's supposed to be him or something) fucking drink OUT OF HIS CORPSE by removing a sword that was in his abdomen. LIKE WHAT. Plus, the dope fucking music they got going. Victor feels more at peace with this crowd cause they don't give a fuck, they're dead and even murdered. When they go upstairs they are peaceful and not demonic like people would assume. They go for a wedding, a wholesome, kind moment. They are allowed to reunite with their family and loved ones which can help so much with closure! The scene is littered with a puke kind of green, settling in the feeling of uneasiness but immediately it turns to the main theme of blue. LIKE AaAAAA. Also, we get one of the funniest lines in the whole movie. "There's an eyeball, in me soup."
4. Butterflies This movie made me fall in love with butterflies, literally was watching Arachnophobia with my bro in law and at the beginning they drug butterflies to look at them. I was watching them fall and out of my mouth slipped "That's a blue morpho." which shocked by BIL. I was hugely embarassed cause I knew it from Corpse Bride thankfully my BIL thought it was cool that I knew it and his respect for went up. I love the theme of butterflies through the movie because of what they represent, and I don't mean Emily. Butterflies normally resemble a big transformation and personal growth along with rebirth, hope and life. Look me in the eyes and tell me you can't connect the fucking dots.
This is where I will leave it for now, but I might make a part 2 cause I love this movie so much. Here are some of my fav lines: "Eyeball in me soup" As previously mentioned. "I spent so long in the darkness, I'd almost forgotten how beautiful the moonlight is!" "Can a heart still break once it's stop beating?" "Excuse me. You don't know me but I used to live in your dead mother." "Now, why go up there when people are dying to get down here?" "Your hands are too fat, and his neck is too thin. You'll have to use a rope." The vows, I like the vows so much I will have them if I get married. "Did things not go according to your plan, Lord Barkis? Well, perhaps in disappointment we are perfectly matched.” "Who invited these people? They must be from your side of the family.” "I've got a... I've got a dwarf, and I'm not afraid to use him!"
I will get a tattoo of this movie I swear to god.

I Need To Forget You
pairing: platonic alex, luke, and reggie (and bobby but only mentioned!)
summary: Before his parents kicked him out, his sister had been trying to teach him how to play the acoustic guitar. Andrea hadn't been quite the musician that Luke is, but she'd tried her best. Alex remembers being 15 and sitting on the edge of her bed, her guitar in his arms as she told him where to place his fingers. He also remembers complaining endlessly about how much the strings hurt his hands.
Another exploration into Alex’s feelings about his family after his death.
(plus self indulgent guitar playing inspired by that video Owen posted on Instagram of him playing the guitar in the dark)
authors note: I JUST REALLY WANT ALEX TO GET A SOFT ACOUSTIC GUITAR SOLO IN SEASON 2
trigger warning: homophobia and bad parenting (mentioned)
ao3
The studio is cold when Alex walks in. He supposes he shouldn't be surprised, it’s barely five in the morning and everyone is asleep.
They technically don't need to sleep but Luke and Reggie like to try anyway. Alex finds he's too wired to even do that; he’s been this way since before he died.
He eyes his drum kit and walks over, gently the tapping on the batter head with the pads of his fingers. He doesn’t really feel like playing right now. The morning feels too quiet for that.
Then, he sees it. A six string in the corner that Alex assumes belonged to Julie’s mom.
He walks over tentatively, keeping his footsteps quiet as he approaches, almost as it he's approaching a wounded animal. When the guitar is finally within reach, Alex reaches out and gently plucks a string, listening to the muted sound of it quietly ring out. He smiles, though it feels bittersweet.
Before his parents kicked him out, his sister had been trying to teach him how to play the acoustic guitar. Andrea hadn't been quite the musician that Luke is, but she'd tried her best. Alex remembers being 15 and sitting on the edge of her bed, her guitar in his arms as she told him where to place his fingers. He also remembers complaining endlessly about how much the strings hurt his hands.
His fingers begin to itch the longer he looks at the guitar and before he even realizes, he’s picking it up and sitting on the couch, balancing the guitar in his lap.
It feels instantly different from his sister’s guitar. It has a rougher feel from the unvarnished wood, and the curves in the body of it fit differently in his lap... but holding it feels like home.
It’s a different kind of home, though.
Alex’s drums are a warm-kind of home. They remind him of long rehearsals and laughing until he couldn’t breathe. They feel like long talks about dreams and hopes with his best friends at midnight, and crying about his parents while Luke, Reggie, and Bobby held him.
But the guitar... feels different. It reminds him of locking himself in his sisters room and playing Green Day way too loud while their parents stomped around downstairs, pretending to live perfect lives.
It feels like fear; the fear he’d felt when he’d told Andrea that he liked boys the way he was supposed to like girls.
He hugs Julie’s moms guitar just the slightest bit tighter when he remembers the way his sister had hugged him so tightly, when he remembers how she’d told him (for the first time in their entire lives) that she loved him.
Alex takes a deep breath as he positions his hand over the strings and presses down.
It stings in the same way that it had the first time Andie had tried to teach him how to play, but he finds that he doesn’t really mind so much anymore. He begins to pluck a gentle melody and winces when one of the strings buzzes under his grip.
“Pushin’ past the limits, trippin’ on hallucinogenics.”
His voice is quiet and the slightest bit gruff from rehearsing all day yesterday, but it feels good to hear it ringing out in the empty studio. He isn’t sure when his eyes slip shut, but all he can see behind his eyelids are flashes of his parents disappointed faces, of Andie’s teary eyes.
The rhythm of Alex’s strumming picks up and morphs into something more aggressive the longer he sings.
“Rippin’ with my sinners ‘cause fuck it, man, I ain’t no beginner.” Suddenly, Alex is 14 again, sitting in church and shuffling uncomfortably in his Sunday best as he’s helpless to listen to the minister as he tells them to cast out sinners; sinners that Alex is too afraid to admit he identifies with.
His parents had always taken the ministers word as if it had come from God himself, so they’d done just as he said.
When Alex had told them he was gay, they’d cast him out. They’d barely given it any thought at all.
”’Cause I just couldn’t open up, I’m always shiftin’.” Alex sighs before launching into the next line, a sour taste in his mouth. “Go find yourself a man who’s strong and tall and Christian.”
The gold chain around his neck burns, heavy with the phantom weight of the cross that used to hang from it. Alex swallows. His eyes feel suspiciously wet as he continues to strum through the end of the song.
He lets out a shaky breath and leans back against the couch, catching his breath and letting the guitar just lay across his body. It’s quiet mornings like these that make Alex hurt the most. Mornings that are cold and unfocused and quiet; mornings that give him too much space to think.
He hears the sound of someone proofing into the garage and shoes shuffling against the ground and he sighs. He wipes his eyes before he opens them, seeing Luke and Reggie standing in front of him.
Reggie is sheepishly fiddling with his fingers and Luke looks vastly uncomfortable; like he’s been caught looking at something he wasn’t supposed to... but seeing them makes a comforting warmth explode in Alex’s chest.
“Hey,” Alex says softly, lifting the guitar off his lap and putting it on the coffee table, being careful not to scratch the wood. “How much of that did you hear?”
”Pretty much all of it,” Reggie says, flopping down next to Alex on the couch. Alex leans toward him almost automatically.
Luke joins them. Alex knows he isn’t great with vulnerability, but he can tell he’s trying, and that’s enough to make the tears threaten to spill all over again.
“You alright, man?” Luke asks quietly. “It looked like things were getting kind of intense.”
Alex sniffs, shrugs, and looks up at the chairs hanging from the ceiling. “I think so,” he says. “I just started thinking about my folks... and Andie.”
Reggie winces and bumps their knees together. Neither of them say anything, but Alex knows they’re listening.
Luke reaches for Alex’s hand and he welcomes the touch, squeezing Luke back just as tight.
“I just...” The words get caught in Alex’s throat, “were they sad when they found out?” He clenches his jaw. “A part of me wonders, y’know... maybe they were relieved.”
“Alex—”
”No, Luke, they kicked me out!” He says. “I might as well’ve died right on their porch the night my Dad told me to pack my shit and leave!”
He doesn’t mean to raise his voice, but it just happens. He gives Reggie an apologetic look. Alex knows how he gets when people yell.
“I’m sorry,” Alex whispers. “It doesn’t matter anyway.”
“It does if it’s hurting you,” Reggie says quietly. “Have you thought about tracking them down?”
Alex tugs at his chain as Reggie’s question twists and turns in his mind.
Surprisingly, he hasn’t. Not really. The minute he stepped out of that house, his parents had stopped feeling like family. Luke, Reggie, and Bobby had been his family for far longer than his parents had been.
“No,” Alex says after a moment. “They aren’t my family anymore. You guys are.”
Luke bumps their shoulders together and Alex smiles, grabbing Reggie’s hand with his free one.
“What about Andie?” Luke asks, stroking his thumb across the back of Alex’s hand. “You told us she was chill when you came out.”
Hearing Luke say her name stings in a way he hadn’t expected.
“She was.” Alex looks at the guitar sitting on the coffee table. “I do wonder sometimes, I guess but... what good would that do? It’s not like I could talk to her. And even if I could, it’s not... I couldn’t hurt her like that.”
Reggie furrows his eyebrows. “What do you mean?”
Alex sighs. “If she did mourn me when I d-died...” for some reason saying the ‘d’ word feels harder than it’s ever felt, “I couldn’t put her through that again just to ask her whether or not mom and died cried at my funeral.”
All three of them fall silent as the morning sun finally starts to rise. Alex leans his head back and feels a smile grow on his face; because for the first time since all of this started, he feels... okay.
He hates not knowing so much about his own life (or... death, he supposes), but... death gave him so much.
“I know dying sucked.” Alex looks down at his, Luke’s, and Reggie’s clasped hands and smiles wider. “But I think this was... the best worst-case scenario.”
Luke grins, too. “Yeah?”
A sunbeam streams into the garage and catches against the glass of the window, causing a rainbow to appear on the very edge of Alex’s knee. It’s so perfectly absurd that he can’t help but giggle.
“Yeah,” Alex says breathlessly, letting go of Luke and Reggie’s hands so he can wrap his arms around their shoulders instead.
Because they’re all that really matters.
His family.

The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff: Developer Blog (Part 1)
SimGuruConnor has released part 1 of the Sims 4 Paranormal Developer Blog series.
Tumblr media
Hello Simmers! Welcome to a small 2-part Dev Blog about our newest Stuff Pack, Paranormal Stuff! This pack has been an absolute blast to work on, and I’m excited to share what this pack is all about!
Tumblr media
I’ll try not to reveal too many spoilers for the pack either, so I’ll keep things somewhat brief. Our topics for today are the new Scared Mood and the Haunted House Lot Type, plus an interview with our Audio Artist too!
Get Scared
Sims can now relish in the mortal dread of the Scared Mood! The Scared Mood affects Sims in a variety of ways, with my personal favorite, the new Scream Incoherently interaction, where a Scared Sim runs up to another Sim to scream their lungs out. This can result in the other Sim calming down the Scared Sim, or resulting in both Sims becoming Scared. This can create a Scared Mood wildfire if you’re not careful!
Tumblr media
Whoa, whoa, whoa, it's okay!
Sims afflicted with the Scared Mood also have trouble communicating with others, the urge to panic-run everywhere, and are slightly more prone to accidents. If no other Sims are around to help calm down a Scared Sim, they might just have to Hide Under The Covers for a while.
But if being Scared just isn’t your Sims style, consider purchasing the new Brave Trait. This Satisfaction Reward Store Trait will rapidly reduce the incoming fear a Sim feels and help Sims regain their composure faster. While no Sim is totally fearless, this trait should help mitigate some of those creepy feelings.
The Scared Mood and the Brave Reward Trait are all base game features coming with the Paranormal Stuff patch on January 21st. Tons of previous Uncomfortable Buffs are now becoming Scared Buffs, such as the “Startled By Ghost” Buff or the “Thalassophobia” Buff from Island Living.
While being Scared might not be a common occurrence in your everyday Sims life, living in a Haunted House is a whole different story…
Happy Haunts
Introducing the Haunted House Lot Type!
Tumblr media
The Duplantier Dwelling, created by Doctor Ashley! This “canon” Haunted House will be available in the gallery!
They’re like regular houses, only haunted! Although unassuming during the day, at night, these places get super weird. Your Sims may notice things like flickering lights, pipes rattling, or even creepy dolls staring at them in the corner. All are totally normal occurrences in a Haunted House, but it may take some time for your Sims to adjust to their new surroundings.
Sims living in a Haunted House will also be introduced to floating apparitions known as Specters. They’re cute little critters, but their motives aren’t entirely clear. You can try talking to them, or even offer them presents in hopes of establishing a good rapport. If they like you, they’ll drop special loot for you and your family. If they don’t like you, well, you’ve been warned.

o o o (> ‘ u ‘ )>
Learning to get along with your new ghostly inhabitants is crucial in a Haunted House. Things like botching seances, neglecting Specters, or letting accursed objects invade your house will have a negative impact on its spiritual serenity. There is a delicate art to co-existing with the entities of the house, and thankfully you’ll have an expert on the matter to assist you!
Meet Guidry
Claude René Duplantier Guidry was a seasoned Paranormal Investigator in his previous life, but now he exists to help anyone brave enough to live in a Haunted House! You’ll probably run into him eventually living in a Haunted House, but don’t worry, he’s a nice ghost!
Guidry will gladly offer his wisdom to those who seek it. If you’re confused, alarmed, or slightly uncomfortable by your new haunted surroundings, give Guidry a holler and he might be able to help. He can also offer valuable objects to help your Sims, too; all you need is to reach out!
Tumblr media
Still got it.
All Guidry wants in return is to crash at your place for the time being. Sounds like a fair deal, right? But if you’d prefer to fly it solo, you can always disable his nightly visits—he won’t be too upset, maybe.
As mentioned before, Guidry was a Paranormal Investigator before his untimely demise. If he sees potential in you, he can certify you with a Paranormal Investigation License, granting access to the Paranormal Investigation Freelancer Gigs. Only those who are qualified enough can join the ranks of Paranormal Investigators, but more on that next time!
Be Brave!
Living in a Haunted House adds a layer of risk and reward for your Sims, and each successful night yields Reward Store Satisfaction Points for everyone in the Household. Specters can also drop treasure that can also be collected, consumed, or sold to an Oddity Collector. So although your Sims might go through a bit of peril, they’ll thankfully be compensated.
One of my favorite pieces of haunted treasure is the new Sacred Candle. Not only do they look cool, but they also help protect Sims from paranormal influences. Place them around your house to make sure Sims are properly shielded!
Tumblr media
A properly protected Sim.
Things like Sacred Candles and performing ceremonies at the Séance Table are integral to keeping your Sims happy in a Haunted House. Without using these paranormal tools, the entities of the house might get a little bossy.
And while it might be in your Sims’ best interest to keep the spirits of the house in check, watching things go horribly wrong in a Haunted House can be just as fun too. So whatever works for you!
Tumblr media
Like Tiny Homes, this Lot Type can be toggled on or off at any time. So whether you’re a casual thrillseeker who wants to spend a couple of nights in a Haunted House, or a seasoned Paranormal Expert who wants to take on a new challenge, this Lot Type should offer something for you!
Crosspack Stuff!
Pets get to share the fun too! They especially love the accursed objects that show up!
Tumblr media
I think they’re gonna get along great.
As mentioned before, a ton of old Buffs from multiple packs are now being converted to the Scared Mood. I think 70 something Moodlets were converted? Honestly, I lost count. Anything that seemed more appropriate for the Scared Mood was transferred over.
Oh, and you might remember an old Lot Trait from City Living called Haunted. For clarity’s sake, it needed a name change, so now it’s the Spooky Lot Trait. It also benefits from being combined with the new Haunted House Lot Type and will have an increased chance of spawning Ghosts at night. So use both for maximum haunted-ness!
Audibly Frightened
Last but not least, I’d love to turn it over to our Audio Artist for this pack, Briana Billups! She did a killer job bringing Haunted Houses to life! Trust me!
Conor: Can you tell us what an Audio Artist does on The Sims 4?
Briana: Big, broad picture: an audio artist decides what everything in The Sims 4 sounds like. We record, create, and edit sounds to the art and animation of the game. Little, very detailed picture: creating the actual sounds is usually one of the smaller aspects of our job. We are meeting with other departments, like design, animation, and VFX, to understand the overall vision of new game features and how we can fit in sonically. We are meeting with each other to make sure all our new content still keeps the very fun and quirky vibe of the Sims. We come up with new tools and implementation where necessary.
Conor: What sort of things go into the creative process for creating audio?
Briana: Every audio artist/sound designer has their own creative process, but I like to make a “sonic mood board” of sorts. I typically like to have a good idea of what I want something to sound like in my head before I record or edit it, so it’s nice to have sound effects or music to refer to that represents my original inspiration or ideas. When I was in college, I would make Spotify playlists for whatever I was working on. I would listen to them once a day, adding and editing as necessary, so when I actually got to work, I was in the right headspace. Now I’m usually less formal about this sort of stuff, but for this pack, I would refer back to things like Vincent Price’s demonic laugh from Thriller or Casper the Friendly Ghost Cartoons and the looping soundtrack from the queue of a horror ride at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (Ghost Blasters)
Conor: What were you most excited to work on for this pack?
Briana: Definitely all the haunted house sounds! Good sound design is the crux of so many horror movies and video games, so even if we were keeping things more “Casper” and less “Poltergeist,” I still wanted to give a good scare here and there. I actually scared myself one day while playtesting another feature in the game!
Conor: If you had to choose, what is your favorite audio clip you’ve ever added to The Sims 4?
Briana: I would say my favorite SFX were the sports arena loops in EP08: Discover University. When you visit the arena for the soccer/esports match or graduation, you can actually listen to the whole game or ceremony. It was great to craft a whole story from start to finish using just sound. I also snuck in a lot of developer names when writing the scripts for our voice actors.
Thanks, Briana!
More To Come!
That about covers this first foray into the Paranormal Stuff Pack! This pack has been a ton of fun to work on, and watching my Sims flee in terror has been more enjoyable than I’d like to admit.
Next blog, we’ll focus on the Séance Table and developing your Medium skill, as well as the new active freelance career Paranormal Investigator.
Big thanks to the Stuff Pack team for helping this pack come to life, and thank you, Doctor Ashley, for building our featured Haunted House!
Until next time, SimGuruConor
