Allow me to scream at you with Star Wars au fic ideas:
Alexsandr Kallus is Padme Amidala’s little brother
Pros:
Related to Anakin Skywalker through marriage and witnesses insane feats of the Jedi and develops brotherly bond with soon-to-be Darth Vader
Also gains friendships and connections with Kenobi, Ahsoka, Rex (imagine the reunion on Yavin), etc
Goes through villain arc after learning of his sister’s death. In complete denial that his brother-in-law murdered his sister. (In this au Anakin’s actions directly killed her, childbirth aside) Convinced there were other forces at play
Joins the Imperial Academy in part because the Empire wanted Alderaan to give them a royal-of-sorts for their army and the publicity — but also to investigate his sister’s death (kinda gets sucked into the whole “bring order to the galaxy” thing tho and gets side-tracked from his sister’s murder)
After Bahyrn, investigates further and learns Anakin didn’t die on Mustafar. He became you-know-who. (cue Kallus’ identity crisis because how could he not recognize Anakin while working together bringing order to the galaxy)
Becomes Fulcrum, gains substantial stress, constantly fearful of having to face his former brother figure again, finally makes it to Yavin
But then of course he gets kidnapped by the Empire. Thrawn and Vader are extremely interested into why such a powerful agent would be at odds with his loyalties —
Kallus decides he’s dying within 24 hours, might as well make them memorable, and immediately reveals his connection to Vader within seconds of interrogation
(Cue stunned Vader breaths swishhhh swoooo swishhhhh sw — )
Thrawn going “pardon?”
Vader going “Thrawn gtfo”
Intense family reunion comprising of Vader in denial that his brother-in-law is alive and Kallus eating this up (if he lives, no one’s going to believe him when he says he made a Sith Lord speechless, but Maker he’s having fun with it)
Vader leaving in a rush, still in denial that his little brother-in-law is alive and a rebel, just confused enough to miss the Ghost crew coming in to rescue Kallus
Kallus is rescued. Makes last stand against Vader. Kallus Convinces Vader to let them go and Vader agrees
(Then Kallus has to explain to the Ghost Crew what in Ashla that was about. Revelations aside. Carry on now. Maybe some more plot later. Vader has identity crisis)
Cons:
None

Sabé – Verses
Canon based verses
The Path Laid Out For Her
44 BBY to 32 BBY
Sabé (born Tsabin Andierre) was born on Naboo in the year 44 BBY, into a family of hallikset players. As per family tradition, she was sent to study music at the Theed Conservatory, a school known for training traditional musicians, as her older brothers had studied there. Though she hid it well, she strongly disliked following the path laid out for her, with no hope of anything more than a supporting role in any orchestra on Naboo. Until 32 BBY, the year she turned twelve.
The First Handmaiden
32 BBY to 28 BBY
After Padme was elected Queen of Naboo, Tsabin accepted Captain Panaka's offer to become the queen's body double, bodyguard and handmaiden. She adopted the name Sabé and was trained in hand combat, marksmanship, basic battle strategy, espionage, mimicry, royal etiquette, forgery, among other skills. Sabé also became Padme's principal decoy, impersonating her whenever it was necessary, and also sneaking into the areas of Coruscant that Padme couldn't access even as a Senator.
All Pieces In Play
28 BBY – 19 BBY
After Padme sent her and former Royal Guard, Tonra, off to Tatooine on a solo mission to find Shmi Skywalker, Sabé began freeing as many people as she could from slavery, taking them to Karlinus where they could live free. While in Tatooine, Sabé and Tonra pretended to be married and worked at a water plant; Sabé infiltrated multiple crime groups, including the Black Sun, for information, and eventually sided with the White Suns, the local slave liberation movement, after Shmi Skywalker's death.
In her memory
19 BBY – ON
After Padme's death caught her completely off guard, Sabé investigated the cause of it, which led her to figuring out Darth Vader's identity and Palpatine's involvement in the fall of the Jedi Order. She eventually met with Obi-Wan, prying information about Padme's last moments out of him and, upon finding out that Padme wasn't pregnant at the time of her death,  joined the House of Organa, employed as a messenger to gather and spread information among the resistance cells across the galaxy. She also became Princess Leia Organa's handmaiden and bodyguard.
Alternative Verses
Prove She Was Right (exclusive with @crowsandmurder)
19 BBY The last time Sabé saw Padme Amidala, it was during order 66, she was on her way to Mustafar in search of Anakin Skywalker. Sabé watched her go, but couldn't bring herself to remain idle in the face of such danger, she went after Padme and, instead, found a heavily injured Anakin, and since Padme believed him worth saving, Sabé took him back to Karlinus.
Second Best Option
19 BBY - ON
AU where Sabé, being Padme's closest friend and bodyguard, was present when the twins were born and promised Padme to do everything in her power to keep Luke and Leia safe no matter what it took. Having known Padme better than anyone else and knowing for a fact it would have broken her heart to see her children be separated, Sabé stole the twins and took them away to protect them from both the imperial and the Jedi nonsense, and love them the way only a mother —or in this case, a mother's best friend decoy— could.
The Handmaiden's Skills
AU where Sabé is working as a spy for the rebellion, having infiltrated the empire in search of getting revenge against Padme's killer: Sheev Palpatine.

(Of Loyalty and Royalty) "You know, Captain Solo," the Empress said, delicately putting her wineglass down. Han tried not to stare at the motion, or at her, or anywhere. Things were always awkward around her. "I had my doubts, but I am beginning to see what Luke sees in you. I am glad he has you." Han breathed a sigh of relief. Then the Empress *had* to add, "Of course, my husband does not share this response."
Royal Imperial Skywalker AU (parts 1-6)
Send me things!!(always accepting, for this or any other verse, just… slow)
It had taken several minutes of insisting, and some creative thinking on his part, but Han had finally gotten Goldenrod out of his and Chewie’s collective hairs, having sent him off on some convoluted mission to find a very vital component for modifying the Falcon. It was weird enough being in the Palace, even with Luke, so being here without him was absolutely surreal. The night before had not been a restful one, that’s for sure.
At least now he had Chewie with him. Something about that big, walking fuzzball made everyone feel more at ease, it seemed – aside from the moments it was clear he was about to lose his temper. Then? It was best to steer clear, unless you wanted to lose an arm. But… even in the early days, Luke seemed to be comforted by his presence.
Han would argue until the day he died that he was not out of his mind for missing the fact that Luke was, indeed, the Imperial Prince, given just how fumbling the kid was right off the bat. Too earnest for his own good and stumbling over his words, you’d think he’d never spoken to another human being before. Which… well, clearly wasn’t the case, but perhaps he just didn’t have as much experience with the sorts of conversations regular folk might have. And for that, he always seemed so nervous when he tried to talk to Han. It was endearing, of course, and played a large part in winning the scoundrel over, but it absolutely screamed “Outer Rim Crop-Duster” without giving a hint at any form of nobility. And yet, when he was around Chewie, he seemed to just… relax. Words flowed much more naturally, whether he addressed the Wookiee or the captain, and a good portion of the tension he carried in his shoulders would just evaporate.
The ease of interaction between him and Luke had grown over the weeks, of course, but Chewie had always been an effective buffer in any situation. He was also effective when it came to negotiations for that very reason, and it was why Han almost wished his first mate had been around for the previous night’s dinner. True, all parties agreed it was for the best that he’d stayed behind, but still; it would have saved Han a lot of discomfort.
“Well, pal,” Han sighed, flopping down on his overly luxurious bed and sprawling out, “how’s it feel, living the high life?”
Perched awkwardly on the foot of the bed, Chewie gave Han a look absolutely brimming with irony. Given his history, as well as that of his people, Chewbacca had never really been in favour of an Imperial Regime in and of itself, but there was a certain level of respect he’d always held for the newfound freedom the Wookiees experienced under the current system. He would speak ill of the life of his people under the Republic, and the galaxy headed under Palpatine, but he carefully maintained an air of neutrality towards the current Royal Family. Through it all, though, Chewie had never sought a life of luxury. He’d always been content to live day to day, repaying the life-debt he was convinced he still owed Han and doing whatever he could to find his place in the galaxy.
Han supposed that over two centuries was plenty of life lived, and sometimes you just had to find your thrills no matter their source.
“Yeah, yeah, I getcha,” Han conceded, sitting back up and running a hand through his hair. “Can’t say I’m feeling all that at home here, either.”
Chewie took a few moments to glance around the room, taking in the décor and the pure extravagance everything seemed to exude, before he finally rumbled out his opinion on the matter.
As he pushed himself off the bed and wandered over to the balcony door, Han shook his head and sighed again. “Yeah, I agree, buddy. It really is… A lot, isn’t it? No wonder the kid felt restless here. I never woulda pinned him to live in a place like this, either.” He spent a brief moment looking out at the sprawling city below him, wondering just how Luke felt every time he took in the same view, before a wry grin spread across his face. “Wanna see a little more of where your new favourite cub grew up?”
Chewie rolled his eyes. On occasion, Han would complain about how much more Chewie liked Luke than him, a joke which seemed to have worn a little thin, but the fuzzball ultimately nodded, and the two breezed out of the room to get a closer look at the wing in which they were to reside for the foreseeable future.
***
“I know, pal.”
It turned out the Imperial Palace – or, at least the sections of it they had proper access to – was not as interesting as they would have liked it to be. They were in the guest wing, of course, and had encountered far too many droids restricting access to other, more interesting sections of the building. The two could make it past if they so chose, but decidedly chose not to, if only to avoid landing on the Empress and her husband’s bad side, and to not to piss off Luke or land him in any more hot water than he might already be in. So instead, they’d settled onto an elevated veranda, sprawling and luxurious and attended by a number of other droids who sought to meet their every need, feeling every bit as though they had landed themselves in a gilded cage of their own.
“I’m not sure what the next move is either.” Chewie draped a warm, hairy arm around his shoulders, and Han was grateful for it. “I can’t live here any more than you can. It just ain’t gonna happen. Luke knows that too.”
He left the next bit unsaid, and as Chewie finished his thought for him, Han found himself wishing he didn’t understand Shyriiwook nearly as well as he did.
For a moment, he tried ignoring his first mate, but another, more insistent rumble, accompanied by a not-quite-painful squeeze to his shoulder had him groaning. “You’re right, of course. As usual. I can’t stay here, and I can’t just drag Luke away from this place. I’m not sure we get to be happy, yanno? In a perfect world, I’d just take the kid with us, travelling the galaxy, adventurin’ from place to place, non-stop.” He paused and allowed the wry smile to twist at his lips. “Pretty sure Luke wouldn’t be strictly opposed to that, either. But…”
Silence rang heavy between them, even with the bustle of the city-planet below them. On another occasion, Chewie might have chimed in with the missing thought, again, but right now, it was clear there was no need. Han wasn’t avoiding it because he didn’t want to acknowledge it; he was avoiding it because it brought a level of pain he never wanted to confront when he was only just getting closer to Luke.
At the end of the day, it was duty that came into play, before anything else.
“Ah! Captain Solo!” Han nearly jumped out of his skin at the crisp tone of the droid as it interrupted his thoughts. “Here you are. And Chewbacca! I nearly thought I had lost you.”
He had to suppress a groan as he forced a grin and faced the gleaming golden droid. “Nope. Still here. Can’t get rid of us that easily.”
“Well, that is indeed excellent,” Threepio continued, completely missing the irony. “I do believe I have found the component you were looking for. I have placed it with your ship until such a time that you may require it.”
“Well,” Han drawled, genuinely surprised the droid had found anything, given his description, “I guess I’ll just have to take a look at it next time I’m fixin’ up the Falcon, and I’ll let ya know how you did, yeah?”
Chewie chuckled softly from behind him, but the droid carried on. “Her Majesty has requested your presence, Captain Solo. I must request that you follow me.” Request was more than likely putting it mildly.
Chewie raised a brow at the droid, rumbling a soft inquiry in Shyriiwook, but Goldenrod seemed unfazed. “I apologize, Mr. Chewbacca. While I recognize your desire to accompany the Captain, the Empress has asked to speak with him alone. However, if you so choose, I may wait with you outside her chamber while they carry out their business.”
The Wookiee was losing patience with the droid almost as quickly as Han was, but Chewie had always been better at maintaining his composure. Despite his own frustrations, he growled an agreement. Both Han and Chewie followed the protocol droid to the hallway leading to the Empress’ chambers, Han being ushered in while Chewie was pointed to a position just to the side of the doorway.
“Mistress Padmé awaits you inside, Captain Solo. I advise you do not keep her waiting.”
“Yeah?” Han felt his lips contort into a wry, contrary sort of smirk. “Well, I’ll make sure I don’t. I know better than to keep a woman like that waiting.”
“Indeed, you do have some wisdom in you after all, Captain Solo.” Threepio’s voice was chipper and polite as ever, but if he didn’t know better, Han would almost think the droid was mocking him.
“Right,” he replied, face darkening slightly, before turning to his friend. “See ya later, Chewie,” he said with a nod. “Try not to tear off Goldenrod’s arms while I’m in there.” He’d lowered his voice, but not enough to go undetected by a droid’s auditory sensors, and Han took more pleasure than he probably should have in the way Threepio seemed to jump at the comment.
Striding forward, the assured steps he took into the chamber worked to conceal the anxiety that truly roiled beneath Han’s composed exterior. Something about the Empress caused his legs to turn liquid and his wits to escape him. Luke was able to disarm him with his charm and catch him off guard enough to force him into idealism; the Empress disarmed him completely with her ability to read right into the core of his being.
Actually, every member of the family seemed to share that ability. His thoughts hadn’t felt private since he’d landed on Coruscant. The Empress could see right through him, the Princess shared her mother’s eerie personal precision, the father had his own brand of intimidation, and Luke…
Luke had always been able to sense Han’s vulnerabilities. Even when it wasn’t obvious that was what he was doing, it was present enough that the kid seemingly maintained a solid connection with him no matter what. Now that Han knew just what Luke’s connections and abilities were, he couldn’t help but feel just a touch more wary of him. He’d never much believed in the Force, nor did he really know what it did, and he didn’t quite trust it.
But… he did trust Luke.
He knew just how gentle the kid could be. Despite the insecurities they both felt, despite knowing what seemed to eat at him the most… Han held faith in Luke. It made him uncertain. Han was unaccustomed to uncertainty like this. But even though he was entirely unsure what the future held, he knew he had faith. A faith he hadn’t come close to holding for years before this, but faith nonetheless. He was not about to abandon that just because he was about to face the Empress, the most powerful woman in the galaxy, and someone who could very well dismiss his existence on a whim.
“Captain.”
The door closed behind him, and Han found himself in another room that seemed overly lavish and luxurious compared to what any being actually needed. He hadn’t really noticed, but they’d moved beyond the guest wing of the Palace. The droid’s escort had been so seamless that he didn’t even realize the route they were taking was unfamiliar and led past paths that had previously been obstructed. He’d been purposely misled to this chamber, and would be escorted back to his own private room so he could not find this one again, he was sure. It instilled a growing sense of unease within him, but Han would not back down. Holding his own against the Empress was all he could do. It even seemed liable to become his greatest achievement ever.
Han was not an Imperial Loyalist. He never had been. He wasn’t a rebel, by any means, just went where the credits were, but most Imperials were fairly stingy with their credits. It was the outlaws who paid the best, and for so long, he’d pledged himself where the fortune laid. But now… well. Was it fortune that drew him to Luke? Or something else? So many could look at his history, look at Luke’s identity, and draw their own conclusions. Han Solo, smuggler, scoundrel, and Imperial Leech.
Luke had never seen that in him, though. And, well, if Luke believed in him…
“I can sense your discomfort.” The Empress’ voice was somehow both cool and warm. She had an inviting air about her, something that begged you to share your every last secret, but she never shed her nobility. Calm, collected, and in control… that was the Empress, and Han wasn’t sure he would ever stand a chance against her in any sort of battle, of the wits or otherwise. And yet, he wasn’t sure that mattered. He would hold his own against her for Luke’s sake. That much felt so certain, no matter what.
“Discomfort, Your Majesty?” Yeah, playing it off seemed like his best bet. What else was he supposed to do? Just admit to the fact that he felt uncomfortable around her? No, that was a weakness he wasn’t about to show off just yet.
It seemed, though, he couldn’t fool her. The Empress wore an expression that seemed far too similar to a predator capturing its prey, though it did not contain the same level of cruelty as one who was about to devour. No, she seemed ready to play with her food before deciding if it should be consumed immediately, or if it was worthy of keeping around for a bit longer.
“You have not shown any signs of comfort since arriving at the Palace, Captain.” Her smile grew, but as it spread, it only became more inscrutable. Han really had no idea whether it carried more welcome or intimidation with it, but he could certainly tell that it carried more. “It is my sincerest hope that you may find some level of ease within our walls. I do not wish you to be on edge for the entire duration of your stay. After all, what kind of hosts would we be if you could find no trust in us whatsoever?”
Han quirked a brow. “I really gotta say, Majesty, it ain’t nothin’ personal. Promise. Your family’s done nothing wrong to me. Got no reason to stand against ya. Plus with Luke around, I’m really not about to do anything stupid like that. But you can’t blame me for being a bit nervous. I ain’t used to dealing with big shots like your family. And I’ve got no interest in kriffin’ things up. Especially not for Luke. Kid’s been through enough. He don’t need me comin’ in to make things even worse. It was his choice to have me here, and if I didn’t think he actually wanted me anywhere near the rest of your family, you better believe I wouldn’t have agreed. Sorry to say it, but my interest in politics is almost negative, so it would take either a huge stack of credits or the word of someone I trust to get me at the Palace at all.”
Did he actually just say all that? In his head it hadn’t sounded that bad. It just sounded like his usual ramblings. But actually saying it out loud…
The Empress clutched a delicate goblet in her gloved hand. It was filled with wine, and she took a long drink out of it before setting it down and smiling at Han. “You know, Captain Solo,” she said as the glass delicately took its place atop a coaster on the end table. Han tried not to stare at the motion, or at her, or anywhere. Things were always awkward around her. "I had my doubts, but I am beginning to see what Luke sees in you. I am glad he has you." Han breathed a sigh of relief. Then the Empress had to add, "Of course, my husband does not share this response."
“Well, Majesty, can’t say I expected him to.” Han hadn’t noticed, but a droid had placed a full tumbler of Correllian Whisky next to him, and he was quick to take a swig of it before he continued. “Can’t say I expected any of you to like me at all, to be honest. Still not sure if that daughter of yours is all that sold on me, either.”
Bright peals of laughter echoed through the chamber. There was genuine joy and amusement in the Empress’ expression, and it was enough to make her seem purely human. It was likely a side of her that only the closest and most intimate of associates would see from someone so regal. He’d seen the holos. The whole galaxy had. She was gentle yet stoic, kind yet solemn, genuine yet guarded… She was what you would expect a beloved Empress to be. But this – this seemed to be who she really was, and an unexpected warmth bloomed in Han’s chest at experiencing it. Maybe… maybe he wasn’t so doomed here, after all, if he’d won over the most powerful woman in the galaxy.
Maybe he’d have a chance at winning over the old man…
“My dear captain, you do understand my children well, I must say.” The light remained in her eyes, and Han could practically feel the tension in his shoulders unwind – though, that could very well be the whisky’s work. “Winning over Leia is no easy feat, but I think you have a better chance than most. She worries for her brother. And I assure you, it isn’t personal.” Clever woman, using his own defense against him. “You took her brother’s attention and caused him to be away from her. She was worried sick and missed her twin. It is not your fault – my son has always been reckless and acts of his own accord – but she resented you before she even knew who you were. Please be patient. Luke adores you. She will come to accept you no matter what. Even if she does not choose to show it.”
Han finished the last of his whisky, grimacing a bit at the thought of the princess. She resembled her mother a fair bit and had been seen in public with the Empress more often than Luke ever had been. The twins didn’t look all that much alike, really, especially when seen separately. While together, though, the similarities shone through. Similar mannerisms, expressions, body language… and they definitely interacted like siblings. Seeing them in this capacity left no doubt in his mind that the twins were, well, twins. But the princess always seemed far more like The Princess than Luke ever did The Prince.
The Empress took another sip from her goblet and her eyes settled on the dark liquid within. “My son has always been more trusting than his sister. He has a gentle heart. I know the dangers he faces because of it. That gentle heart is far too fragile for his own good, and while I know that Luke is strong… well. We all know that Luke is strong. He is not some delicate, withering flower that will crumble to pieces with a strong gust of wind. He is trusting, though, and will offer up that most vulnerable and breakable part of himself far more readily than any of us would prefer.” She paused, emptying the contents of her glass before setting it down and meeting Han’s eyes with a piercing, imperious gaze.
“The unease my family feels around you isn’t personal, Captain Solo. Neither we nor you have any reason for it to be, correct? But our concern stems largely from Luke himself. We know his nature, and when he left Coruscant for such a prolonged period of time, we all worked ourselves into a frenzy of worry about just what harm he might bring upon himself. Physical danger concerns us, of course, our family has guards for a reason, even given our own martial prowess. But Luke’s emotional state, especially when he’d fled searching for freedom… you understand why we would be concerned, yes?”
Han just nodded, wishing he had another glass of whisky.
“My husband may not be swayed just yet. Your status as a smuggler certainly does not help, either.” She really knew how to reassure him when it came to tall, dark and terrifying… “The best way to win him over, however, is to continue as you are. Make Luke happy. That is all we desire for him, first and foremost, and the finer points of status can be discussed at a later date.”
Han met her gaze with gritted determination and nodded sharply. “I will, Your Majesty. Swear on the Falcon. I will not let the kid down.”
“Good,” she replied, humour in her voice while intensity remained in her gaze. “See that you don’t. Farewell, Captain Solo. Until next time.”

How Anakin and Padmé would've ruled the Empire
So, obviously, we've seen many, many fanfictions and AUs about Padmé joining Anakin and ruling the Empire with him. They've all given their takes on how their Empire would go, and this is no different.
Tumblr media
So, without further ado, here's my take (this'll be pretty long):
If Padmé joins Anakin, he'll be a lot more composed once he faces Obi-Wan, and something tells me Padmé would've just shot Obi-Wan before the two could begin their duel (sorry, Obi, but at least you're not necessarily dead). Padmé gives birth like normal, so Luke and Leia are pretty alright.
Anakin's still very much pissed off by the Jedi, so he won't let any of the surviving Jedi return and will still have them on their hitlist, but instead of saying that the Jedi committed treason, he'll simply say that the Jedi failed to protect the galaxy, so he and Padmé will do it themselves. That's also his explanation for his hatred towards the Jedi to Padmé.
Anakin, however, will eventually put a bounty on Ahsoka in the hopes to get to her, with an "Alive Only" condition along with stating his genuine intentions to get to her.
Once he is sure Padmé, Luke, and Leia are alright, he'll excuse himself to make an official announcement.
By this point, he'll reveal his marriage to Padmé and name her his Empress, explain the Jedi's failure, open up the military force to the population, put Padmé in charge of the Imperial Senate, and establish a new Order for Force Sensitives, but of course, the people registered into that Order will be allowed to form attachments and get to know their parents (let's call it the Skywalker Order)
Eventually, Ahsoka will be found and brought in, and Anakin will explain everything. She appears super reluctant at first but will eventually give in to her gripes with the Jedi Order and join Anakin. She'll be the Master of the Skywalker Order, only behind Anakin who is the Grandmaster.
Anakin will return to Padmé, and she'll be a tad bit confused as she fell asleep after giving birth. He'll explain that he was now the Emperor and she was now the Empress and that they could make their dreams come true, whatever they were.
Anakin and Padmé will live in Padmé's apartment for a while. Anakin will manage just about every part of the Empire for a bit as Padmé takes baby duties. She'll also eventually meet Queen Jamilia who states that Naboo will remain loyal to the government. She'll resign from being Naboo's senator.
Anakin and Padmé will eventually meet the Naberrie family. All will wonder why Padmé suddenly sided with an Empire but will understand it at some point. Sola, Jobal, and most of the family will warm up to Anakin quickly, but Ruwee will remain skeptical for quite some time. However, eventually he'll warm up himself.
There'll be some assassination attempts on the two for a while, but people will eventually warm up to the Empire as Anakin continuously targets slavery across the galaxy. Like the brilliant couple that Anakin and Padmé is, they'll scuff out the rebellion with time.
Anakin will probably write the Skywalker Code at some point (with some help from Padmé to make it sound more poetic):
With passion, I am strong.
With peace, I am strong.
Passion fuels my heart, and peace fuels my mind.
With only heart, I am unwise.
With only mind, I am unkind.
Forever should I hold passion and peace, then forever will I be strong.
I will not shut away my emotions, I will control.
I will not be ran over by emotions, I will control.
Forever should I control, then forever will I be strong.
Forever am I strong.
The Skywalker Order will not expect all Force Sensitives to be in it, however, but all Force Sensitives should be expected to be registered as Force Sensitives and will be given basic training to control their inherent powers. Still, the Skywalker Order will be a whole lot better than the Jedi Order and Sith Order.
Once Padmé is a lot more capable of heavy workloads, Anakin will hand over the entirety of political affairs to her while he focuses more on the military affairs. Speaking of the military, he'll also make Ahsoka the Supreme Commander.
Anakin also eventually finds a way to scientifically slow down one's aging, and he uses the serum that his team developed on him and Padmé. The two are also considering using it on their children as it didn't have much drawbacks.
Once the two get really comfortable in their new Empire, they'll establish a dynasty, so the Skywalkers remain in power. Anakin and Padmé will also adopt Ahsoka because that's been one of their dreams for a while, but they won't decide who'll inherit their throne just yet.
So, now, we have:
His Majesty The Emperor (Anakin)
Her Majesty The Empress (Padmé)
His Royal Highness The Prince Luke
Her Royal Highness The Princess Leia
Her Royal Highness The Supreme Commander (Ahsoka)
Eventually, Anakin will get a hold of Yoda who would've reminded him of Ahsoka had she not sided with him, but she did so...Yoda just gets killed. Obi-Wan is possibly dead already, so no point in bothering with that.
Anakin and Padmé planned on having only one more child, but they loved each other too much and ended up having five (not that they didn't love the five so much).
Once Ahsoka reaches her late 40s, she'll step down from Supreme Commander and simply be the Master of the Order, and Luke becomes Supreme Commander. Leia eventually ascends to the throne and falls in love with Han.
Padmé established a rule that the sovereign can choose to either make their spouse a coregent or a consort. Leia makes Han a Prince Consort instead of Emperor (not that Han is salty about it or anything - it made sense).
All of their kids end up happily married because as much as they're all so different, they're all drop dead gorgeous.
While all that is going on, Anakin and Padmé, still drop dead gorgeous in their 60s, eventually step down and retire to a private vacation house temporarily as they sought to enjoy the rest of their lives together.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you’ve written, then pass on to at least five other writers (◠‿◠✿) (if you feel like it!!)  I’m changing it up to also include favorite five fics you’ve read because not everyone is a writer (or likes to self-rec)
Thanks for asking! Let me just dust some of these off, and then I can tell you a little bit about my current favorites...
Way back when, one of the first fics I wrote was called ‘Glorfindel Returns’ which featured a relentlessly-determinedly-(and probably obnoxiously) cheerful Glorfindel working his way to Imladris from the Havens and meeting all the folks, a five-gaited mare (that got stolen and then returned), and an ambitious sequel that I never finished. I think I managed to cram just about everything I liked in a story into it, and folks were very kind and told me they enjoyed it.
Ranger’s Apprentice fic: Headswap featuring time-travel (but it was all a daydream), siblings, and substantially altering canon because why not. I like this one so much, I cannot even begin to tell you how happy this piece of self-indulgence makes me
Ranger’s Apprentice fic: Code of Honor the advantage of writing a slightly-to-the-left version of an early book after reading a much later book is you can come back and use the later canon to improve things
Ranger’s Apprentice fic: [like all the stories I have yet to write, this one is my favorite] Legend of the Sunrise Knight; a book 8 AU in which I let certain siblings live and invent an even more complicated royal family :D :D :D (Okay, I do have most of an outline, which is how I know that I like this one a lot)
Star Wars fic: [like all the stories I have yet to write, this one is my favorite] no title features Anakin Skywalker pulled forward in time, to find out that his son is almost all grown up, he-Anakin Skywalker-died on some foolish idealist crusade and his step-brother is less than thrilled by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Lars farm is about to be attacked, and then Anakin and Owen and Beru end up impersonating Imperial officers and all sorts of wild shenanigans ensue over and around the events of A New Hope. I have a very good time with this one, and wish I knew how it wraps up (a title would be nice too, but I’d rather have a satisfying ending)
bonus: original fic: The Kidnapping of Agnes Sweetheart features mistaken identity, resourcefulness, and cheese.

But sacrifice was necessary.
“-dodged a large rock-”
Yet this, this he could not sacrifice.

One-shot collection focused on Luke and Vader. All AU.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/15128117/chapters/48583628
(Note* Silver has a bunch of these so here we go, not all but godamn I would say the vast majority of these are.  )
24. Sent Out for Safety-- throwawayflames
At the age of eight, Luke Skywalker and his sister, Leia, are split up for their safety. Leia stays with their Uncle Ben, and their mother, to learn how to be a Jedi. Luke, on the other hand, is sent to the Organa's, where he will pretend to be their adoptive son who was orphaned. Ben had only given Luke one rule to live by while he was away from his family, don't tell anyone his last name, and he followed that.
It wasn't his fault that Darth Vader sensed that he was a Force Sensitive and now he wants to train him, as a Jedi no less. That's the complete opposite of what Ben had told Luke. And after asking Darth Vader about his dad, Luke can't help but say yes to Darth Vader training him. After all, Luke's always wanted to be a Jedi like his father.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22659655/chapters/54159751
25. For Want of a Skywalker --acuteneurosis
After the miracle of having survived Bespin, Piett does not ask why they are stopping on Tatooine. Or why Lord Vader suddenly has acquired a small child. Or why this child's name is Luke. Or how long they are going to keep him.
He probably should have.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22044874/chapters/52612567
26. Where Our Intrepid Hero Doesn't Get Away- sparklight
One-shots surrounding either AU situations of canon/legends works where Luke would normally have gotten away (or Vader is simply inserted into the action to come pick his child up) but in these instances doesn't, or completely new scenarios of the same. Any time an AU is mentioned to be based on a comics issue it's from the new Marvel Star Wars comics (2015) (unless otherwise noted).
There are no deep ruminations on consequences of the situations here, just our awful Sith dad picking his son up when he'd rather not be.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/4837094/chapters/11078918
(note* again not all include Little Luke but they do involve Luke and Vader)
27.  Runaway SilverDaye
Imperial Prince Luke runs away from home to escape his overprotective father Emperor Vader. Jumping from planet to planet he finds himself creditless on Tatooine. While working for more money to leave the planet, Luke meets an old man named Ben Kenobi. But Luke knows he can't stay in one place for long for surely his father is hunting him down.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14630196/chapters/33813027
28. Bring Him Home -- KeeperofSeeds
Vader is sent to Tatooine by his Master after a series of failures. While there he discovers the existence of Luke. He meets Luke, convinces him to come with him off planet, and manages to hide him away for a while. He knows his Master won't tolerate a powerful force sensitive like Luke running around as a free agent once he's old enough to be a threat, and he also knows exactly how horrible it is to serve Palpatine. He won't let Luke be taken and used like that.
Eventually though, his deception is discovered.
Vader knows he isn't powerful enough to protect Luke on his own, and he isn't ready to overthrow Palpatine yet. He decides the only safe place for Luke is with the Rebel Alliance, the very people who've managed to stay out of his reach so far. So he takes Luke and defects.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/15994967/chapters/37317818
29. Stranger Danger LadyVader23
When Vader is suddenly given custody over the five year old son he didn't know he had, he attempts to get his daughter, Leia to befriend him. But as soon as his back is turned, Luke runs away, hiding in the mall that Vader owns. Vader tries frantically to find his son while Luke enjoys exploring the mall on his own. Shenanigans ensue.

Tiny Emperor Luke AU Chapter 10
Also known as “Obi-Wan thinks Luke is dead and grieves on Alderaan ft. Bail Organa”.
Tumblr Tag | AO3
The first few days back on Alderaan passed in a haze. He knew he had all but collapsed in Breha’s arms, running low on energy. Obi-Wan had made it through the worst the war and all that Tatooine’s summers had to offer and yet he had broken down like a youngling, utterly exhausted. The Queen had put him in the same little cabin he’d lived in just a month ago and given him strict orders not to disappear.
It seemed unbelievable. Obi-Wan’s life had changed within the span of days so often, and yet he couldn’t grasp that just a month ago everything had been alright.
Not perfect, far from it, but alright.
He had told Beru that he’d be gone for two weeks while Owen was out working on the vaporators. She had laughed, told him not to worry and allowed him to visit Luke. The boy had been sleeping right up until Obi-Wan had stepped into his room to leave him another toy ship.
Beru had once let it slip that Luke adored the handcrafted ships much more than any other of his toys, much to Owen’s annoyance.
“Owen Lars was a good man,” Obi-Wan said quietly.
Bail took a seat next to him on the sofa. Breha had returned to the palace while Bail had stayed behind.
“He took in Luke without asking another question, loved his wife and his nephew dearly. I think, for all that he resented the pain Anakin represented, he might have loved the chance to have a brother as well.”
During the really dark days, the second year or so he had been on Tatooine, Obi-Wan had wondered whether the reason they didn’t get along was the fact that Owen Lars was an inherently good man. He was protective of his family, devoted, and wanted nothing but to see them happy. He was honorable down to the core and had even brought water and food to Obi-Wan’s meager dwellings when he had come to ask about floating toys and the kind of separation anxiety only Force-sensitive children experienced.
Owen Lars was a good man and Obi-Wan was a monster.
He’d justified all his actions in front of the Council and they had approved again and again as he committed hideous crimes in the name of the Republic and peace. Looking back, Obi-Wan knew that the Jedi had fallen from their path the moment they had stepped up to be Generals, but there hadn’t been any other options. Obi-Wan hadn’t been a proper Jedi in over a decade and that was perhaps the only reason the next words escaped him so easily.
“I hated him,” Obi-Wan admitted. “Still do. He told me to stay away so I wouldn’t get even more Skywalkers killed and I did just as he asked me to because I thought he was right.”
Bail put his arm around Obi-Wan’s shoulder, the hold so reminiscent of the way little Leia had thrown herself around Obi-Wan’s neck on the last day he had been on Alderaan the first time around.
“It’s not your fault, Obi-Wan,” Bail said. “You cannot blame yourself.”
“But it is my fault. I should have been there, begun training Luke so he’d be safer and I would know if anything happened to him. He’d already latched onto me when we had finally made it to Tatooine and that bond never broke. I should have reinforced it. I was already thinking about keeping him, raising him myself, but I thought he would be better off with his family. I walked the edge of their land so often, tempted to steal him away, but I always told myself I couldn’t give him what he needed, that he'd be safer away from me and now he’s-“
Dead.
Gone.
Like everyone else. People always left him behind and not for the first time did Obi-Wan wonder what lesson the Force was attempting to teach him that he always failed it. Maybe he had never outgrown the angry thirteen-year-old child, too attached to everyone around him. The galaxy might be a better place if he hadn’t been in it. Anakin wouldn’t have been trained or maybe he would have gotten a Master who could have stopped him from falling, who’d be able to protect his children and burn the Empire to the ground.
Obi-Wan knew he couldn’t do it anymore.
“It’s not your fault,” Bail insisted. “You Jedi always had a habit of piling the weight of every star onto your backs.”
Obi-Wan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Held it. Exhaled.
“It was our calling,” Obi-Wan said. “We were meant to protect every life.”
If the desert had taught him one thing, then it had shown him in perfect clarity what the Jedi should have been doing. Obi-Wan didn’t know where Palpatine’s machinations had started and ended, how many choices his Order really had been able to make in the end before they were slaughtered, but he could feel in his bruised and broken bones who they always should have been.
And who Obi-Wan never could be.
“And what is your calling now?” Bail asked.
Obi-Wan didn’t have an answer for him. He should finish what he had started all those years ago on Mustafar, show Anakin mercy and kill Vader for his Padawan. He should look for any remaining Jedi, die in the most honorable way, like a star on the verge of collapse.
He should, he should, he should-
He didn’t.
Sensing that Obi-Wan didn’t have an answer for him, Bail began to speak again. Alderaan’s Senator had aged, but by far not as much as Obi-Wan and yet, despite all the marks grief had left behind, Bail still managed to smile kindly.
“After you left the last time, Leia kept asking for you,” Bail said. “’When is Mister Ben coming back?’ and ‘Do you think he can tell me more stories?’ She has taken quite a liking to you and not only because you showed her how to make her books float on purpose.”
“I can’t stay here,” Obi-Wan said. “The first trip here was already a risk and this second- I never should have come back.”
Alderaan was as anti-Imperial as you could be without outright committing treason. They were under constant scrutiny and Obi-Wan couldn’t risk endangering the government of an entire planet. If even just one Imperial spy could see past the image of a haunted man, Alderaan would be made an example of.
“But you did.”
“Because I was desperate.”
The brutal honesty had become one of Obi-Wan’s most well-known companions. On Coruscant, he always had to watch his words no matter whether he spoke in front of Representative or another Jedi. People had high expectations of him and Obi-Wan had lied so often to please everyone around him that the truth the sharp winds of the last years had cut into him was terrifying but relieving.
Bail let go of Obi-Wan and with a sigh unbefitting of a royal, jabbed Obi-Wan’s ribs like they were children instead of grown men.
“You are my friend and you were Padmé’s friend,” Bail said. “You’ve been alone for a very long time, so do me a favor and honor those friendships and let us help you.”
“I’m not a good man, Bail,” Obi-Wan said. “Chaos follows me everywhere.”
Bail smiled and Obi-Wan wanted nothing more but to know how he managed it after all the horrors he had been forced to witness.
“At least this way I’ll always know where it is, instead of having to chase my daughter down.”
“Leia is a sweet child,” Obi-Wan replied.
Happy too, loved and cared for like her brother had been.
“I’m not denying that,” Bail said. “I am simply pointing out that she also happens to be an utter terror with no regard for people who do not have her particular brand of luck on their side. It must be a Jedi thing, Master Kenobi.”
“I’m not a Jedi anymore.”
“You have to be. My daughter is depending on it.”
Obi-Wan was hesitant to try. There were so many things that could go wrong and Leia was safe still and with luck, she’d never need to wield a weapon, certainly nothing more dangerous than a blaster.
But if Luke had been able to, he might still be alive and Obi-Wan didn’t have anyone left. His people had all been executed and all that remained of them were him and Leia Organa, her father’s laughter and her mother’s wit.
“I need time,” Obi-Wan said.
Time to heal and time to think and time to teach Leia to be better than the Jedi had ever been.
“Of course,” Bail agreed.
Obi-Wan could only hope she wouldn’t resent him for burdening her with the legacy of a thousand generations, that someday she might even forgive him for depriving her of the chance to share that weight with her brother.
He wasn’t sure he ever would.

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Tumblr media
Alex Claremont-Diaz thought everything was clear in his life. He’s the first son of the first woman president of the United States. He’s a soon to be graduate with a future in politics. He’s the brother of June, best friend of Nora, and long standing rival of Henry, the Prince of Wales. But when one of their arguments takes a turn for the worse (taking an disturbingly expensive cake down with them) their teams decide it’s time to stage an intervention. And so begins what’s supposed to be a photo-op, a fake friendship to appease the public and smooth over any ruffled feathers, but soon Alex finds himself wanting to see Henry on his own terms. One spontaneous, somewhat intoxicated kiss and identity crisis later Alex finds himself falling into bed with Henry. It’s supposed to be casual, physical, no-strings attached fun, but all too soon it becomes more than that. It becomes something worth risking their futures for.
My first thought about this book beyond I would die to protect Alex and Henry’s softboi love at all costs is that it is too fucking long. I would say the book needed to be at least 100 pages shorter than it ended up being and I’m surprised that it made it through to print at the length it is. That isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy the writing or the sheer amount of detail provided, but it slowed down the pace and made it harder to stay engaged with for a significant period of time. It also made the ending feel slightly rushed in comparison to the rest of the novel.
That being said I loved this book even more than I thought I would and almost immediately bought my own copy on Kindle (I borrowed my roommate’s copy for this read) because I knew I would want to read it again in the future. It’s probably the perfect read for 2020 especially right now in quarantine because while this election doesn’t offer the chance for a woman for president this novel offers a hopeful outlook. It’s the AU to end all AUs (in regard to the current political landscape at least) in that it didn’t feel farfetched. It felt like something within our grasp (fingers crossed for 2024 even though that doesn’t sound like a real year) and it made for a nice escape from these uncertain times.
Finally, the moment when Alex gets Henry on the phone for the first time after the scandal breaks and just says Sweetheart broke me, I will never be the same. I could feel the rawness and the love in just the one word and that is so rare and difficult to achieve in a book.
Keep reading for some of my favorite quotes (note there are less because I was reading a physical copy for once and it takes more effort to mark fave quotes)!
Quotes:
“What I want to be prepared for my first ever royal wedding.” “You went to prom, didn’t you? Just picture that, only in hell, and you ahve to be really nice about it.”
“Listen, royal weddings are trash, the princes who have royal weddings are trash, the imperialism that allows princes to exist at all is trash. It’s trash turtles all the way down.”
“Risk assessment: FSOTUS failing to check himself before he wrecks himself will result in greater than five hundred civilian casualties. Ninety-eight percent probability of Prince Henry looking like a total dreamboat. Seventy-eight percent probability of Alex getting himself banned from the United Kingdom forever.”
“Sugar, I cannot express to you how much the press does not give a fuck about who started what. As your mother, I can appreciate that maybe this isn’t your fault, but as the president, all I want is to have the CIA fake your death and ride the dead-kid sympathy into a second term.”
June and Nora are ignoring him, caught in the bubble of intimacy he can never quite penetrate. Their relationship is something enormous and incomprehensible to most people including Alex on occasion. He knows them both down to their split ends and nasty habits, but there’s a strange girl bond between them he can’t, and knows he isn’t supposed to, translate.
“I always liked Luke [Skywalker]. He’s brave and good, and he’s the strongest Jedi of them all. I think Luke is proof that it doesn’t matter where yo ucome from or who your family is -- you can always be great if you’re true to yourself.”
“Doing what we do is fucking hard. But it’s harder for me. I’m the son of the first female president. And I’m not white like she is, can’t even pass for it. People will always come down harder on me. And you’re, you know, you, and you were born into all of this, and everyone thinks you’re basically Prince fucking Charming. You’re basically a living reminder I’ll always be compared to someone else, no matter what I do, even if I work twice as hard.”
“Henry’s willingness to dance is directly proportionate to his proximity to Alex’s hands, and the amount of giddy warmth bubbling under Alex’s skin is directly proportionate to the cut of Henry’s mouth when he watches him with Nora. It’s an equation he is not nearly sober enough to parse.”
“Henry’s whole face grimaces in frustration, his eyes casting skyward like they’re searching for help from an uncaring universe. “Christ, you are as thick as it gets,” he says, and he grabs Alex’s face in both hands and kisses him. Alex is frozen, registering the press of Henry’s lips and the wool cuffs of his coat grazing his jaw. The world fuzzes out into static, and his brain is swimming hard to keep up, adding up the equation of teenage grudges and wedding cakes and two a.m. texts and not understanding the variable that got him here, except it’s...well, surprisingly, he really doesn’t mind. Like, at all. In his head, he tries to cobble a list together in a panic, gets as far as, One, Henry’s lips are soft, and short-circuits. He tests leaning into the kiss and is rewarded by Henry’s mouth sliding and opening against his, Henry’s tongue brushing against his, which is, wow. It’s nothing like kissing Nora earlier--nothing like kissing anyone he’s ever kissed in his life. It feels as steady and huge as the ground under their feet, as encompassing of every part of him, as likely to knock the wind out of his lungs. One of Henry’s hands pushes into his hair and grabs it at the roots at the back of his head, and he hears himself make a sound that breaks the breathless silence, and--”
If Alex’s head is a storm, Henry is the place lightning hits ground.
If Henry's voice on the phone was a tether, his body is the gravity that makes it possible, his hand gripping the back of Alex’s neck a magnetic force, a permanent compass north.
Alex grew up with a mother who was a sometimes baffling combination of intensely organized and committed to lines of emotional communication, like an overly invested life coach. When he got his first girlfriend, she made a powerpoint presentation.

2. Royal AU + 58. Accidental eavesdropping for whoever in the Skywalker family please? :)
I had to force myself not to continue this, I had so much fun writing it, but I might revisit it at some point in the future if I get the time :)
Prompts from this post.
The castle of Lord Vader was a terrifyingthing. It rose out of the volcanic rocks and ashes of Mustafar, guarded by atreacherous network of passes and continuous small eruptions from the volcanoit was situated on. The only way into the castle—the fortress, almost—was through one specific pass heavily guarded andwatched at all times.
It was one of the largest, most effectivemilitary strongholds in Palpatine’s Empire.
Luke had no idea how he’d managed to gethere.
He was a farmer. And sure, a wannabe knight, but that dream had always been so ridiculouslyunrealistic it was an insult to tell people when they asked. They’d only justlaugh at him anyway.
He was a farmer. That was all he’d thoughtthat he would ever be, until Palpatine went to war.
He’d heard the rumours before he got theconscription notice, of course. Alderaan, Naboo, Chandrila, some otherprosperous nations had joined together to object to Palpatine’s policies, andtheir objections had been violent. The unrest had only grown until half theEmpire was at war with itself, the Rebels derided as Separatists and theImperials derided as fanatics and slaves.
It hadn’t been unusual for both sorts to comethrough the bars of Anchorhead. Luke had worked there in his free time—it wasthe only way to make enough money to help keep the farm aloft and spend time with his friendssimultaneously—and he’d spoken to insurgent and loyalist alike, both scornfulof their enemy. Sometimes he’d had both at the same time, and they’d had toforce them to take the fight outside.
Blood would stain the dust and theirdoorstep, but so long as it didn’t stain the door itself Luke wasn’tresponsible for cleaning it off.
Then the war had escalated, and the Empirehad needed new troops.
And now Luke was here.
“Skywalker!” barked his commandingofficer, a gruff man with one glaring eye. “Stop dawdling and get back towork!”
Work. Cleaning the weapons and returning themto their owners. Painstakingly taking the inventory then checking then checkingit again. Hurrying back and forth to transport the water and food rations totheir corresponding places. There was no end to what the youngest, scrawniestmember of the Imperial Army would be ordered to do in lieu of actually training him.
He’llbe a liability in battle, the recruitment officers had scoffed. Lookat it, he’s got no muscle on him at all.
Actually, Luke did; you didn’t work on a farmyour whole life without it. But he was small, and that was a crime enough in anempire with ideas too big and grand for its reality.
“I’ve finished, sir,” he bit out, politely. He knew full well hiscommanding officer was going to strike or demote him or both any day now, buthe could no longer bring himself to care. “Is there anything else you’dlike me to do, or may I begin training?”
It was a stupid question, really. There wasalways more work to do. The Imperial Army didn’t need an extra soldier; itneeded a decent organiser.
It just needed someone who had their acttogether.
“Of course there’s more work to do,where do you think you are?” the officer snapped. He paused, narrowed hiseyes at Luke, then glanced down at his pack.
Luke followed his gaze. At the top of thepack, just peeking out, was a rolled up letter.
“Boy,” the man said, “deliverthis missive to Lord Vader.”
Luke’s eyes blew wide. The officer smirked atthe terror on his face.
The letter was bad news. It had to be bad news, if no one elsewanted to take it. And everyone inthe Imperial Army knew what Vader did to people who brought him bad news.
His commanding officer held the letter out tohim.
Luke, staring, made no move to grab it.
“Take it, boy,” the man said. “That’s an order.”
Luke took it.
The man gave a nasty smile. “Hurryalong, now.”
Luke swallowed, and looked up at the castleproper. He’d been camped in the courtyard this whole time; while soldiers weretechnically allowed into the castle, he hadn’t entered yet.
Well,here goes nothing.
He took a deep breath and started forwards.
It was nerve-wracking, and it wasintimidating, but he made it through the stringent security measures withouttoo much bother. An alert was sent up to Lord Vader to be expecting him, but toLuke’s dismay no one stepped in to say that they’d deliver the report in hisstead—not even the people who interacted with him on a daily basis. They justgave him slightly pitying looks, like they knew exactly what was going tohappen to him.
The stairs he had to climb up were numerous;for a moment, he wondered if exhausting any potential attackers was anotherpart of Vader’s defence. He supposed it also meant that people only wanted toclimb the stairs to talk to you if it was a genuine emergency, and he wasinterrupted less for stupid reasons.
From what he’d heard of Vader and histendency to… dismiss… any unwanted interruptions, the latter was probablymore likely.
The corridor he emerged onto was a  long one, just as barren of tapestries orother decoration as the rest of the castle. In fact, the impression Luke hadreceived so far from the place was that it was just… part of the mountain.
It was what it was: a military base. The factthat Vader lived here was irrelevant, and the man clearly expected everyone totreat it as such.
There were more windows up here, though, andLuke shivered. The wind whistled in through the slits, ruffling his hair andclothes and trying to tug the missive from his hand. He clutched it tighter.
Through the windows, all he could see was avivid orange and black. After a blink, it discerned itself into a continuouslava flow beneath what looked like the wreckage of a mining facility atop thevolcano. There was a particular ledge that stood out in the view, stark in thecontrast, and Luke had to wonder why the sight of that particular spot gave himsuch chills.
The wind picked up again, whistling. Thecorridor took on the note and thrummed, echoes reverberating all the way up anddown it. When Luke took a step that snapped like a thunderclap, and the roundof applause that chased it down the hall sent yet another coldness tinglingdown his back.
He kept walking anyway.
Now he could hear voices.
He instinctively slowed when he did, scoldedhimself, then sped up again. He would reach the door he’d been given directionsto, go in, hand over the letter, then get out of there. He didn’t need tolinger; he didn’t need to slow. Everything would be perfectly—
“—Skywalker?”
He nearly screamed. But whoever was speakingwasn’t addressing him.
He approached the door carefully. Voices camefrom behind it: one, an elderly rasp; the other, a coarse, gruff bark throughdamaged vocal cords. It was the rasp that had sounded earlier, and now itsounded again:
“Skywalker’s child is dead. As is his wife. I suggest youdon’t concern yourself with his memory,”there was a sneer in the word, “any longer.”
The coarse voice said, low and ragged, sounding thoroughly cowed, “Yes… my master.”
There was no warning save the hiss of clothagainst stone. Luke lifted his hand to rap on the door when it opened verysuddenly and an old man made to step out. Luke threw himself to the sideinstantly to let him pass.
Then he stared.
He knew that face. That was the face on theside of the coins he received whenever he was paid.
He belatedly threw himself to his knees, sohard the cold stone crashed into him and sent bruises all up his calf. Heignored it, keeping his head bowed. “Your Highness, I—”
Stoptalking, a voice inside himhissed. Don’t babble, and don’t speak inthe Emperor’s presence without first being spoken to!
He shut his mouth with an audible click.
He could still sense Palpatine’s assessinggaze on him, but refused to raise his eyes to meet it.
“Lord Vader,” Palpatine saidfinally, sounding like he was enjoyingmaking him squirm. “You have a messenger for you. Tell me, boy,” headdress Luke, “how long were you there for?”
Luke swallowed. “Not long, YourHighness.”
“‘Not long’,” Palpatine echoed.“Very vague. Were you eavesdropping?”
Luke shook his head vehemently. “Absolutelynot, Your Highness.”
“Hmm.” It was impossible to tell ifthe Emperor believed him or not. “Very well, go on in. I’m sure Lord Vaderis anxious to hear your news.”
He walked away without a backward glance.
Luke stayed kneeling on the floor, hesitating—
“You heard him,” that coarse voice—Vader—snapped. Luke could tell that hisire was growing by the minute. “Get in here and give me the letter.”
Luke hurried in, holding out the letteralmost before he’d lifted his head.
When he did lift his head, he regretted itimmediately.
The visage he saw was not the iconic helmetand death mask of the man responsible for so many of the Empire’s victories. For once, it was the face underneath.
Luke had never seen someone with more scars.
He was staring, he knew, but he couldn’t seemto stop.
Vader yanked the sealed letter from Luke’shand, sulphur-yellow eyes not moving off Luke’s for one moment. “How muchdid you hear?” he asked softly—dangerously.
Luke knew he was about to die, but he wasn’tabove begging. “Nothing of any importance, my lord—”
“Anything of interest?”
Luke couldn’t lie to Lord Vader, so he remained silent.
Vader noticed, and grew, if possible, eventenser. “Well?”
Luke hung his head. “It’s nothing, mylord.”
“Clearlyit’s not, and I expect an answer.”
“I thought you mentioned myfather,” he burst out. “Or— or me, or another relative, or someone, but you said my family name.”
Luke watched Vader’s expression shift subtlyas he though back over what had been said—the only name mentioned.
There was a moment of pregnant silencebefore— “Skywalker?” Hehissed the name.
Luke nodded. “Yes, sir. I’m Ensign LukeSkywalker; my father was—”
“Anakin Skywalker.”
Luke’s eyes widened, but he nodded.“Yes.”
Vader stared at him, and it hit Luke that hiseyes were blue as they moved over Luke’s face, his uniform, his stature. Thenthey locked gazes again, and it hit him that they weren’t just blue: they werethe exact same blue as Luke’s.
“Luke Skywalker,” Vader whispered.
Paper crunched. Luke glanced at the letterhe’d just delivered, to see it crumple in Vader’s fist.
Vader turned sharply and walked over to thetable in the corner. It was laden with maps and reports—battle tactics, Lukerealised, eyes wide—but it was surrounded by chairs. Vader pulled one out; itscraped along the floor with a sound that made Luke wince.
Vader took his seat on it, then gestured tothe nearest chair with his chin.
“Sit down, young one,” he said. Histone was oddly soft—almost hesitant. “It seems we have much todiscuss.”

Dark Skywalker AU
I have come up with a Dark Skywalker au and Darth names for if Padme, Luke, Leia,  Kylo(were he to truly become Sith) and Rey have fallen to the dark side with Anakin.
For Padme. Simply this. Padme has inherited the mantle of Darth Traya. She found out Palpatine is indeed the Sith Lord and was behind Naboo and the Clone Wars. She feels betrayed and chooses the dark side to seek revenge. The nature of betrayal causes her to betray the Jedi(they never see it coming and when it does come it hurts harder than Order 66, Sith!Padme is the Jedi’s worst nightmare) and to seduce the chosen one in love and to the dark side and uses Darth Vader to destroy Darth Sidious so they can make the galaxy how they want it to be. "There must always be a Darth Traya, one that holds the knowledge of betrayal. Who has been betrayed in their heart, and will betray in turn." And Padme would become Empress Amidala with Darth Vader by her side.
For Luke. Darth Zhoun. “Zoon” means “Son” in Dutch, just as “Vater” means “Father” in Dutch, with “Darth Vader” translating to “Dark Father,” thus “Darth Zhoun” would mean “Dark Son,” a fitting title for a Dark Luke. For story purposes, Luke lets the anger of Ben and Yoda’s lies get to him and after he constructs his new lightsaber, he seeks his father out. Vader begins his training. And Luke is darker in meeting with Jabba The Hut. Luke is under orders to kill Jabba to test his powers out. Luke fully unleashes his raw powers upon Jabba’s palace. “I did warn you didn’t I? Not to underestimate my powers? You should have bargained, Jabba” he says before decapitating Jabba. Darth Zhoun returns to his father ready to face the Emperor and rule the galaxy as father and son. Together they fulfill their destiny, destroy the Emperor and rule the Galaxy as father and son. Anyone Imperial who dares defy Vader’s rule as Emperor is instantly killed by Darth Zhoun. Leia becomes a Jedi to stop her dark father and bring her brother back or do what she must.
As for Leia. I think. Darth Alia (feminine form of another in Latin) Leia’s anger always proved to be strong. Her hatred for Vader and the Empire is present. Lets say Vader sensed the force within Leia on Bespin and ordered Leia to be taken to the Executor immediately. Lando and Chewie are powerless to save her. Han is being taken to Jabba and Leia is being taken to the Empire. Their only hope is Luke. Luke fails. And Leia is at Vader’s mercy. But Vader senses something familiar, he finds out Leia is his daughter. He trains his daughter and brings her raw anger out. Her anger of the destruction of Alderaan, her anger of Vader and the Empire and her anger of losing Han. Leia proves to be powerful. “Together we will rule the galaxy, as father and daughter. We will turn the empire into a force for good.” And Leia unleashes her anger and fury upon Jabba’s palace and frees Han Solo. Han is horrified at what Leia has become and runs to the Rebellion. “The Smuggler will bring your brother to us” Together Vader and Leia meet with the Emperor. “Lord Vader, this is unexpected, but a surprise to be sure.” And as both Vader and Alia draw their Lightsabers, Palpatine realizes what’s happening and unleashes a storm of force lightning. Together they destroy the Emperor. What they do next is bring Luke into the fold. Leia convinces Luke to join their father to bring order to the galaxy and to make the Empire a force for good. Luke joins his sister and their father. Emperor Vader with his children Darth Zhoun and Darth Alia. Han would join them and become Leia’s admiral. Han was hesitant at first, but Leia has seduced Han. The Imperial Royal Family reigns over the Galaxy and peace, justice and order has been restored to the galaxy.
Tumblr media
As for Kylo Ren. Darth Ira. Ira is latin for rage. Or since Kylo lives in the shadow of Vader he could be  Darth Noctus. Another name for rage that would suit Kylo would be Darth Vicion, as his vicious nature. He fully embraced the dark side in TLJ. Remember in ROTJ what the Emperor said? “Strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards the dark side will be complete.” Luke hesitated, Kylo did not. When faced with the opportunity to kill Snoke, he took it. He was faced with the opportunity for redemption and returning to his family, he chose power and the throne. So let’s say Kylo chooses to abandon his old title. “Kylo Ren is dead, a foolish child trying to be Darth Vader, from his ashes something new arises, Darth Ira, Supreme Leader of the First Order and Dark Lord of the Sith” Kylo would then offer Rey to join him or die with the Resistance.  Rather than the pointless force grab in the throne room, a real fight between Kylo and Rey. Kylo wins and cuts Rey’s hand off and leaves her to die on the Supremacy.(she escapes of course) And thus begins Darth Ira’s rise as the Sith Lord of the galaxy.
And finally Rey. Darth Solitudis” Solitudis, after the loneliness she endured all her life, a despair she will delight in making her enemies feel. For story purposes, lets say the throne room scene happens differently. Snoke knows who Rey truly is. Snoke will reveal that Rey was an experiment by Palpatine on his lab on Jakku. The people who she thought were her parents were just random junkers who sold her for a ship. Snoke manipulates Rey into joining him. “The belonging you always sought all your life, was by my side. Strike Kylo Ren, as you should have on Starkiller Base and take your place as my apprentice.” We have a fight that feels real and a fight we care about because we know these characters and not faceless guards who do not just die. But as we believe it’s going to go down as it was in ROTJ, Rey kills Kylo Ren and becomes Snoke’s new apprentice. “You have done well, my apprentice, heir to Palpatine, daughter of darkness. Hence forth, you shall be known as Darth Solitudis” Rey will make the Galaxy feel the loneliness and despair she felt all her life. Only Finn can bring her back to the light or stop her if he must.

Allana’s Verses
Mainverse: As laid out in her about post, Allana was abducted at the age of 12 and escaped but was never found by the Solo-Skywalker family.  Leading her to a life of piracy.
The Lost Heir: Similar to the mainverse but meant to pair with mine and @ereneda‘s dark!TK and Jacen verse over on @chrxnicempathy, Allana’s abductors lost interest in her after the person who hired them to kidnap her was cut off from them.  So they simply abandoned her on the outer rim, where she was taken in by someone who taught her how to survive and fight.  Now the Hapan Consortium is looking like the next big threat to the GFFA, and she’s too curious about how that connects to her hazy memories of Hapan silk and copper hair to stay away.
TFA Verse: Allana’s parents are a royal princess of 64 planets and the son of the most famous family in the galaxy, but she’s never known them.  About two years after her birth Fountain Palace was attacked, killing her grandparents and leaving her mother to assume she was also dead.  Instead she’d simply been removed from the equation, enemies of the family wanting to stop that particular line in it’s tracks.  She was handed to a small-time pirate who was being paid very well not to ask where she came from and raised as her daughter and protege as Ana Dray.  Now she’s inherited her adoptive mother’s ship and is going it on her own.
Academy Verse: Allana stays with the family who had taken her in after she escaped her kidnappers, and a few years later a Jedi came by to test local children for Force sensitivity.  She was tested and offered a spot.  The bitterness over her supposed abandonment had still been growing, and her first instinct was to refuse it outright.  But then she thought about it, and realized she could use it to gather information about why they’d abandoned her.  So she went to the Jedi just as they were about to leave and agreed, getting a ride to Ossus and a twisted version of her old life.
Knight of Ren Verse: All of the things in the TFA verse stay the same, except that after being caught smuggling illegal goods by the First Order they discover she’s incredibly Force Sensitive and related to the Solos.  So they turn her over to Kylo Ren to either recruit or kill her, whatever keeps her out of the hands of the Resistance.
Made of Star Stuff:  Taken in by her aunt, Jaina Solo, instead of her grandparents and introduced to the galaxy as Ana Solo; a force sensitive war orphan adopted by the Jedi’s latest hero.  She grew up roaming the galaxy with her new mother, learning the ins and outs of everything Jaina would teach her and most recently tagging along as she worked to set up the new Imperial Knights.  She’s been trained in the Force only by her aunt, choosing not to go to the academy on Ossus when a place there was offered to her.  So she’s less Jedi and more ‘jack of all trades’ when it comes to the Force.
Raging Beast: The Descendants AU!  Allana is the daughter of Beast and Belle, and Ben’s older sister.  Due to some confusion and an abduction she’s grown up on the Isle, scrounging for scraps and fighting to survive.

Join me in AU Territory for a few minutes, okay?
a.  So Obi Wan Kenobi basically ends up going, “NOPE. FUCK THIS NOISE.” and decides to raise baby Luke Skywalker himself.
(He’s not a true Jedi anymore; not when he can see all the mistakes he’s made with Anakin in full, excruciating detail.  Not when those closely held values of detachment and denial of emotions have led to fire and death and grief and...
No.  He will not turn.  He might not be a perfect Jedi, but he won’t turn to the Dark Side.)
b.  So he loves Luke with all his heart and baby Luke is basically the teeniest, most adorable ball of sunshine and light and his smiles are a balm on Obi Wan’s broken heart.
c.  Also.  Obi-Wan joins the Rebellion. Because hope doesn’t just lie in Jedi and the Light Side of the Force.   Hope lies in the people who are willing to live and die for their freedom, who are there to resist the Empire and its lies.
d.  Eventually, Obi-Wan finds Rex and Ahsoka and of course, that means baby Luke has more family members who will love him.  Maybe he’s not growing up as royalty the way Leia is, but he is equally treasured and precious to Uncle Rex and Aunt ‘Soka.
(Except Luke calls her Snips - just out of the blue - even though Obi Wan has never told him about this nickname and he doesn’t understand why Aunt ‘Soka suddenly catches him up in her arms and holds him tight tight tight.  He thinks he’s made her sad but Aunt ‘Soka tells him she can be his Aunt Snips and thus, Aunt Snips she became.)
e.  Obi Wan does not want to put the burden of stopping Vader on Luke’s shoulders.  It is monstrously unfair and neither Luke nor Leia should be burdened with the task of repairing their father’s mistakes.  This was Obi-Wan’s failure and it is his job to make it right.
f.  Vader chases after Obi-Wan’s ghost in various Rebel skirmishes - Jedi who mysteriously disappear and escape his finest soldiers,. Imperial shipyards being sabotaged, the best scientists of the Empire making successful defections.  He is always just one step behind, just one moment too late.  Vader’s rage knows no bounds.
(Vader never sees or hears about the child in Obi-Wan’s care.  His heart has already been buried in the royal tombs of Naboo, where Padme Amidala lies in her forever sleep.)
g.  There is a holo of little Luke and little Jyn Erso playing together.  Jyn has not smiled in months as her father and mother have desperately tried to flee the Empire, so that they would not be forced to keep working on its latest monstrosity.  It is Luke who has made her laugh again for the first time as they ran and chased each other.
h.  Luke’s first friend, first crush and his idol is the dashing Cassian Andor.
i.  Obi Wan finds healing and a new outlook/philosophy on the Force when he becomes friends with Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus.  He and Luke make the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Jeddah and while Luke is too young to understand, the ruins of its ancient temple make the child “feel good.”  For Obi-Wan, it is a peace he’s not felt in years.
j.  Some things are still meant to happen.  Obi-Wan and Vader clash over the years but each duel is inconclusive and both men walk away alive.  It takes years for the Rebel Alliance to gain steam.  Galen Erso still falls into the hands of the Empire.  The pilot Bodhi Rook still defects to the Rebels.  Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor still lead a desperate group to Shariff to retrieve the Death Star plans.
k.  The difference is that Luke Skywalker defies his somewhat overprotective Uncle Ben, having stolen a ship to Shariff to rescue all of his friends.  They barely make it off planet as the Death Star blows up its Imperial base, but Luke’s gotten to be a very good pilot and will spend his downtime happily chatting away with Bodhi Rook.
l.  Baze spends a few minutes yelling at Chirrut for having the “suicidal tendencies of an Alderaanian lemmingray” before kissing him stupid and it is the first good laugh that Rogue One has, even as they are all safe and sound and alive.
m.  Luke grins even though he knows he’s in deep trouble with Uncle Ben.  There is a transmission from him - Darth Vader is now in hot pursuit of those lost plans and he is chasing after the Tantive IV.  They will all rendezvous with Princess Leia on Tatooine.
It begins.  A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Hey! Not sure if you’re still taking request for ficlet prompts but 67 with Luke + Padmé pleaseeeee!!! ❤️
send me ficlet prompts – optionally include characters67 –  My father may look like the scary one, but it’s my mother you need to be afraid of.(you sent me this SO LONG AGO and I’ve been wanting to answer it SO BADLY but lacked the inspiration until now. it kinda got away from me, ended up being more skysolo than I intended, and I accidentally created a new AU but ahh, I hope it was worth the wait!)
Gripping the controls of the speeder tight enough for his knuckles to turn white, Han Solo shifted nervously in the pilot’s seat. His passenger, looking incredible as always in his simple yet finely made black tunic and trousers, had the audacity to appear completely casual and not at all bothered. How in all the hells was Luke so calm?
Han licked his lips and furrowed his brow. Was he sweating? Why was he so nervous? He could out-shoot any bounty hunter, out-fly just about any pilot and charm the slime off a Hutt – he could do this, too. It was just meeting someone’s parents. He was good with people, so this should be no exception, right? Why should this time be any different?
Oh, right, that’s why, Han thought to himself as the Palace came into view. This time, the parents I’m meeting just so happen to be in charge of the entire kriffin’ galaxy!
He really did seem to have a particular kind of luck with his romantic interests, didn’t he?
“Relax, Han,” his companion soothed, resting a hand on his shoulder and tracing gentle circles there with his thumb. “They’re really not as scary as everyone makes out. Trust me. They don’t bite.”
“Nah, but I’ve seen what your old man is capable of,” he replied without thinking, instantly regretting it when the hand on his shoulder tensed, slightly.
“Yeah.” Han could practically feel the conflict and guilt radiating from the seat next to him, and he was ready to cut in with profuse apologies and lay himself down at the mercy of the court, but a wry laugh from Luke stopped him. “He makes a point not to do anything… to enforce the will of the Empire at home, so you should be good.”
Han didn’t miss the hesitation or the irony in those words, but Luke was smiling, at least, so he relaxed a little bit.
“Besides,” Luke continued, shrugging, “Father’s not the one you need to worry about. My father may look like the scary one, but it’s really my mother you need to be afraid of. And, well, my sister too, probably. Father’s protective, definitely a force to be reckoned with, but it’s no match for the bond between a mother and her child, or the one between twins.” A pause. Then, almost as an afterthought, “They’re also both politicians. Nothing is more dangerous than words.”
The grin on Luke’s face had taken on a wicked quality, a slight level of menace in his voice, and Han suddenly found himself sweating profusely. “Tell me again why this was a good idea?”
Bright peals of laughter filled the speeder as Luke had a good chortle at his expense. Han grumbled as the kid nudged him playfully and moved his hand to the back of Han’s neck, fingers snaking their way into his hair. “Relax. I’m just messing with you. Mostly. It’s gonna be fine. I promise. I’ve got a good feeling about this.”
Oh. That boded well.
***
As Luke approached the private entrance at the back of the palace, he had to admit to himself that he shared at least some of Han’s trepidation. Not quite to the same extent, but a hint of dread prickled at the back of his neck nonetheless.
“Look, Han, I – I know I said I had a good feeling about this. And I know I assured you everything would be fine, but…” He hesitated. While he wasn’t nearly as eloquent as his mother or sister, he was unaccustomed to being as at a loss for words as he often found himself when he was around Han. Something about this smuggler made him feel more like a farmboy than the prince he’d been raised as. Normally, he didn’t mind, but this… this was important. “My family can be a lot. And, well, we’ve only known each other a few weeks, and all. So, I mean, if you’re not ready – ”
“Hey,” Han cut in, resting a hand on Luke’s shoulder. “I know how much this means to you – how much your family means to you. You think it’s time we all meet then I trust you.” He grinned, cheekily. “Don’t go thinkin’ you can get rid of me that easily, Your Worship.”
Rolling his eyes, Luke returned Han’s grin before nudging him with his elbow. “Alright, alright. Let’s get going, then. No point in putting it off.” He could still feel a healthy level of anxiety rolling off of Han, but his good-natured ribbing and confident stride made Luke feel a bit more at ease.
At least, it did until they stepped into his family’s sitting room and saw the look Leia was giving them.
“Y’know,” she said slowly, her voice smooth and silky, “I was sure I’d seen the height of your stupidity already.” She wore a dangerous smile on her face, one Luke knew far too well, and it only grew wider when he scowled at her. “I was sure you couldn’t do anything more idiotic than the time you took Father’s speeder out for a joy ride and thought he wouldn’t notice. But I think you’ve really outdone yourself this time, well done.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The look of delight on Leia’s face had quickly become the most accurate impression of an anooba playing with its meal before devouring it that Luke had ever seen. “Disappearing for weeks on end, leaving us nothing but a cryptic note, no hint of where you’ve gone and hardly a word from you over holocall, then showing back up here with this scruffy-looking scoundrel in tow?” Behind him, Han bristled, which really only served to feed into Leia’s amusement. “Honestly, Luke, I’m impressed. I mean it! The fit Father threw when he found out was spectacular, I haven’t seen anything like it since – well, the speeder incident, actually.”
Despite how entertained Leia seemed by all of this – and there was a vein of genuine amusement in her words – Luke could also sense her underlying worry. Nobody else would be able to detect the tension in her body, the shadow of concern in her eyes, the minute tremor in her voice… She was his twin, and he suddenly felt incredibly guilty for leaving her, even temporarily.
I’m sorry, Leia, he muttered through their bond.
Don’t you dare pull anything like that again, or I might have to strangle you.
With Han oblivious to their silent exchange, Luke decided to mirror Leia’s outward attitude as he raised a brow at her then turned to his “scruffy-looking scoundrel,” who looked like he was trying to decide whether to be terrified or irate. He ended up landing somewhere in the middle. “Han, it is my pleasure to introduce to you Her Royal Imperial Highness, Princess Leia Naberrie-Skywalker, my dear, lovely sister and twin. Leia, this is Captain Han Solo, my – ” He hesitated a moment, glancing at Han as the word caught in his throat. They never did decide what they were going to label their relationship as to his family. Han just gave him a small shrug and a short nod, prompting Luke to just pick something, for now. “He’s my companion.”
“Believe me,” Leia drawled, the delight on her face melting into a much colder, calculating look, “the pleasure is all mine.” Her eyes were piercing as she looked Han up and down, causing him to shift under her gaze. They lingered for a moment as she came to whatever conclusion she had about him before flicking them to meet Luke’s. “Mother’s expecting you in her parlour. Better not keep her waiting.”
All the warmth had left his sister’s voice, by now, but he could still feel her quiet concern. Leia sent him a silent Good luck as Luke led Han towards his mother’s chambers, a fresh knot of anxiety tying his stomach into knots as they went.
***
“Well,” the kid said quietly next to him, “that’s one down.”
Han rubbed the back of his neck, wondering if maybe he should’ve turned back when Luke gave him the chance, but tried to cling to a shred of optimism nevertheless. “If your mom’s anything like your sister, maybe I would’ve had more luck meeting your dad, first. Wasn’t expecting to get eaten alive like this.”
Luke chuckled darkly and shook his head. “No, trust me, it’s for the best that Father’s off-world until tonight. Leia’s all bark and no bite and Mother… you do have to earn her respect, but she’ll give you a fair chance to do so. Father, on the other hand…” Pausing a moment, he bit his lip while searching for the right words. “Well. You said yourself. You’ve seen what he can do.”
He knew full well how much Luke idolized his father. Pure admiration flooded his baby blues any time he brought him up, especially when he’d neglected to share with Han the little detail of his true line of work. It was unnerving, now, to see the discomfort in his face as he discussed Vader, but Han did have to admit to the relief he felt in knowing Luke’s devotion didn’t overshadow his moral code.
They reached the door to the Empress’ parlour before Han had a chance to say anything in response, so he just sighed and glanced down at Luke. “Well, I s’pose it’s now or never.”
Nodding in response, the kid gave the door two sharp raps before pushing it open and leading Han into a large, pleasantly decorated room. The floor was covered in a plush, bright crimson carpet except for directly in front of the fireplace at the far end of the room, which was lined with dark, smooth stones. Artwork lined the walls, from lavish paintings of lush worlds to intricately woven tapestries to complicated abstract works Han would never understand even if he dedicated the rest of his life to interpreting them. The room was furnished with two large, gold-trimmed sofas and a matching armchair that resembled a throne, all encircling an ornate golden table. Han felt entirely out of place, surrounded by this much luxury; even Luke didn’t look quite at home in his surroundings.
The woman before them, however, matched the decor perfectly. Dressed in a flowing, deep blue gown and a sheer, silvery cape, with a golden circlet perched atop the chestnut curls that cascaded past her shoulders and down her back, she stood regally in the centre of the room, awaiting their approach. Trying to keep himself from staring, Han fell into a kneeling position next to Luke, who was the picture of contrition.
“Mother. I have returned home, and I beg your forgiveness for my unannounced absence.”
Having spent the first several weeks of their relationship unaware of his royal status, Han had never imagined Luke’s voice could sound so regal. It sure was a far cry from the naive, chattering kid who’d struck up conversation with him in a run-down shipyard on Ord Mantell. He had to admit, the change was a little spooky.
A few moments passed, feeling like hours, considering how nervous he was, but it wasn’t long before the woman strode forward and wrapped her arms around Luke, pulling him up. “Luke!” she breathed, pulling him into an embrace. Han suddenly felt like he was intruding on something very private. “My son, it’s so good to have you home.” She pulled out of the hug and gripped his shoulders, a stern look etched in her features. “Don’t you ever do anything like that again! If something had happened to you – What in the stars possessed you to do something so rash?”
Luke never did tell Han why he’d run in the first place. Sure, he’d asked, but the kid would get evasive every time he did so eventually he dropped the subject. Under his mother’s gaze, now, it was a lot more difficult to dodge the question, but Luke still seemed determined to do so.
“Oh, sweetheart,” the Empress sighed, brushing her fingers through his hair. “We can discuss this later, when your father returns.” Luke stiffened but bowed his head in acknowledgement. “Now! Are you going to introduce me to your guest, or were you planning on leaving him to kneel at our feet all day?”
Han’s head snapped up and he met Luke’s eyes, who nodded at him to rise. “Mother, this is Captain Han Solo of The Millennium Falcon. I’ve spent the last several weeks in his company, and the two of us have grown… close.”
He could practically feel the kid’s cheeks flush at his own choice of words. Thankfully, the Empress herself appeared to be plenty amused, and she offered Han a brilliant smile that left him somewhat weak in the knees. He could see what Luke meant about her being the dangerous one. There was something so very disarming about this woman and her charm, and he’d met enough charming women to know to be on his guard.
“Truly, I’m charmed, Captain,” she said, voice ringing like a bell as she slipped into formality. “Luke has a gift for befriending the most… fascinating of people.” After offering him another bright smile, she turned to face her son. “Luke, go prepare the guest room, please? If he’s to be staying with us, he’ll need proper accommodations.”
“Oh, that’s really not necessary, Majesty,” Han sputtered, “I got my ship, and – ”
“Nonsense!” The word was light and pleasant, but she somehow infused enough authority into it that he knew there was no point in arguing. “As a friend of my son’s, you are welcome in our home.”
Han was sure they had servants or droids who could set up the bedroom, and even if they didn’t, he was more than capable of doing it himself. He didn’t see why she was sending the Prince to do it. “Well, alright, if you insist, but Luke doesn’t have to set up for me, I’m happy to get it myself.”
“No, no, you are our guest, and we your hosts.” Her deep eyes glimmered with something dangerous. “My son has brought you here, and it is proper etiquette for him to see to your comfort here. Luke? If you will?”
Luke wore a somewhat confused expression that he turned from his mother to Han, but his hesitation was brief as he bowed slightly and muttered “Yes, Mother,” before he set off towards the parlour door.
Turning to follow, Han was frozen in place by a sharp tut from the Empress. “Not yet, Captain Solo. Sit. Relax. I’ll have some tea brought, and you and I can get acquainted.”
From the doorway, Luke shot an alarmed glance in their direction and looked, for a second, as though he was about to protest and insist on staying, but his mother’s expression brooked no argument. Pressing his lips together in a thin line and putting as much reassurance into his eyes, Luke gave Han a final nod before disappearing from sight.
Now alone with the Empress, in her domain, the smuggler couldn’t help but feel he’d landed in a krayt’s den and was about to find out just how dangerous this woman could really be.
After gliding towards the lavish armchair and perching on it, she indicated one of the sofas and stared at him with a pleasant yet sharp look. “Sit,” she repeated, and Han’s legs complied, of their own accord. As he did so, a protocol droid filed in and set down a tray carrying a steaming teapot, a bowl of sugar, cream, and four teacups. “How do you take your tea, Captain?”
With a lot of alcohol, he thought.
“Black,” he said, and she poured him a cup. He muttered an awkward thanks as she handed it to him.
When she’d fixed her own cup and taken a sip, she zeroed in on him, expression growing hard. “Now, Captain, I will be blunt.” Her voice was cold in a way it hadn’t been before, bearing an edge to it that caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand at attention. “My son has a heart the size of the galaxy itself, and he’s prone to giving it away far too easily. That isn’t to say I do not trust his choices, nor do I believe him to be a poor judge of character. He has faith in people, believes in their strengths and capabilities and their capacity to do good.”
“Yeah, I’ve seen that part of him,” Han agreed, thinking back to all the down-on-their-luck Mantellians whose lives were just a bit more comfortable now, thanks to Luke.
The Empress nodded gravely. “Then I’m sure you know how easily he places that trust in those who may not deserve it. In the past he has been drawn to… the wrong sorts of people, and it’s gotten him into trouble more than once.”
Those words were pointed, they referred to him, Han knew, and he found himself scowling at the most powerful woman in the galaxy. “I can assure you, Your Majesty,” he ground out, “that I have no intentions of being the wrong sort of person for your son.” That would cost him, he was sure, but he felt the need to defend his – and Luke’s – honour, even if it meant snapping at the kriffin Empress herself.
Raising a single brow, she regarded him with an appraising stare, dark eyes seeming to burrow right into his soul. “See that you aren’t,” she said evenly. “There are precious few things in this galaxy, Captain, that I treasure more than my children and their wellbeing. So long as you are in Luke’s favour, you will be treated well, I assure you, but if you bring him to harm…” The threat lingered in the air for a moment. He got the message.
He maintained her gaze and held his ground. “Look, lady,” he said, far braver than he had any right to be, “I ain’t suicidal, I’m not about to go messing with your family, and I’m definitely not gonna hurt Luke. Don’t think I could handle his face if I did – looks too much like a kicked puppy when he’s just a bit disappointed, can’t imagine it when he’s genuinely hurt. Besides, seems to me he’s got enough pain in his life without me contributing to it. Now, I may not be some high and mighty noble or anything, and what the kid actually sees in me is anybody’s guess, but, dammit, he’s got me carin’ about him, and anyone who can do that is worth protecting, in my books.”
Well, Solo, you had a good run. Always knew that mouth of yours would be the end of you, just never expected to go quite as dramatic as running it in front of the Empress and getting executed. If only Lando could see you now…
Silence echoed deafeningly in the chamber, which now felt far larger than it actually was, ready to swallow him up. The Empress was staring at him, eyebrows raised, gaze flicking over him again. After what felt like an eternity, the barest shade of a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. “Very well, Captain Solo. Perhaps you will do well here, after all.” For the first time she’d spoken to him, her voice carried genuine warmth.
All of a sudden, he could breathe again, a wave of relief crashing over him as he sank into the sofa and sighed. “Thank you, Your Majesty. I’ll do my best.”
“See that you do.” A pause. “Now!” she chirped, “Luke should be finished with your accommodations by now. I’ll send Threepio to fetch him and my daughter, and we can all get acquainted properly over some tea. Yes, I think that sounds lovely.”
There was no way anyone he knew was going to believe this. He wasn’t sure he even believed it himself. But, sitting here in the Imperial Palace having tea with the Empress and her children, he couldn’t help but wonder just what he’d gotten himself into this time…

Permanent Starter Call List:
to be reblogged and edited every time a new verse and permanent starter call is created.
CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:
Krypton Verse: Royal AU. Krypton was never destroyed but Kal-El, son of Jor-El, still had his eyes on the world his father spoke of. In a bout of teenage/young adult rebellion, Kal-El used one of Kryptonian’s ships to travel to Earth, hiding his location from his family as he did so. It was during this trip that he was welcomed by Jonathan and Martha Kent as well as fell in love with a reporter named Lois Lane. For a few years, he argued, flirted, courted, and eventually married the human of his dreams. When Kal-El was found by his cousin Kara Zor-El, the Lane’s were expecting a child and thus a concession was made, Kal was allowed to stay on Earth just until the child was born before bringing the newest heir home to be trained and raised as a son of Krypton. Civilian Verse: Modern (Kinda) AU. The youngest Superboy’s powers are often faltering but never before had they collapsed as badly that bullets were able to pass through him with no barrier. Almost dying due to this mission, and with his fear of dying in an all time high, Jon decides to quit being a hero and try and live on as a civilian. A Kryptonian was never meant to stay normal though. His past comes to haunt him as he’s slowly being dragged to the world of heroism once more, but Jon’s not willing to give up his life of safety without a fight.
NEWLY ADDED:
Urchin Verse: When Jon’s parents die during the Convergence event, Brainiac sends him to a world alone. Placed on an orphanage, Jon slowly loses hope of gaining a family after repeatedly being sent back and gaining a reputation as a ‘bad kid’ for fighting the other Orphans who bully those younger. Leaving the orphanage at 8, he uses his charms, looks, and smarts, to survive the streets and become useful to any rebellion or person with the right amount of cash. [Useful for Crossovers, set in Y.C.’s world]
UPCOMING:
Sirens Verse: After a tragic accident with The Cube (an unknown object that has transported Jon and his father to a Dinosaur world before), Jon was left in the streets of Gotham without his father and with his 5 year old memories and unlocked powers. Forced to steal to eat and live in Gotham's streets, he breaks into the Botanical Gardens, meeting the Sirens along the way. Taken in by Poison Ivy, and renamed Aster, Jon ends up as a superpowered thief and helps his new mother in her attempts to help nature. Earth-3 Verse: Clark Kent and Lois Lane were/are/will always be destined to be together, the cosmic beings have ensured that ever since they were born. Thus it didn't shock anyone when Superwoman, Lois Lane, and Ultraman, Clark Kent, ended up together and having a kid. A half-amazonian, half-kyptonian child named Jonathan Kent or Jon-Il. At the age of 2, young Jon had already unlocked his powers and started his reign of terror, becoming a nightmare for any kid and adult he set his eyes on, securing his title as the strongest boy in the world and gaining his title as Ultraboy. He plans to overthrow his own father and mother as the strongest Villain in Earth but first.. he needs to grow stronger and make others weaker. Star Wars Verse: When Clark Kent chose a new world he, Lois Lane, and their new son can live in, the man picked something unknown, something exciting, yet something where they can be normal. To his own surprise, they were left in a world with luscious forests, clear rivers, and a full accepting society, a world named Alderaan. Though they planned a normal life, Clark allowed himself to be dragged to the wars, joining the Rebellion. Lois and Jon were brought and forced to live in hideouts where young Jon learned the stories of wars and jedis and how to fight. As a kid, he used his age to help the rebellion, passing on messages, spying on imperial, etc. Now that the war's over (13) and with Luke Skywalker teaching, Jon's unlocking his natural force sensitivity and the powers of a Jedi. Young Adult Verse: Superman has dropped the mantle and its time for someone to become the new face of truth, justice, and the American way. Lucky for the Kryptonian hybrid, he was able to escape that responsibility, to have more time to grow as a hero and as someone who’d have to overcome the huge legacy of Superman. With his brother stepping up to the plate, Jon decides that it’s time to be his own man and have his own team. Taking the mantle of Flamebird, as a remembrance to his brother Chris who was once Nightwing, the Super son contacted his generation of superheroes and created the newest Young Justice, protecting different cities and partaking different missions as they readied themselves into taking their parent’s titles. Adult Verse: There’s no such thing as truly ready but there is a thing called prepared and Jon’s finally prepared to take on the mantle of Superman. Leaving his team to a new and reliable leader, he heads on out to become Superman. It takes months for him to get used to protecting Metropolis and the rest of the world but he makes it through and decides to join the Justice League. With Batman and Wonder Woman as the team’s leader, they expect him to rise up among their ranks soon and to take his place as part of the trinity, here’s to hoping that he fulfills their expectations.

Day 10
In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so. To no one's surprise, I adore fake relationships, especially with its other companions, pining and forced intimacy. There is something delightful about having to pretend/deny/suppress you don't have feelings for somebody while you're pretending to be in a relationship with them. And then when everybody figures it out, it's great too! It is the best trope of all time and I can't get enough of it. Recs (The Force Awakens, MCU, Sleepy Hollow) below the cut! If you have recs for fake relationship fics in any fandoms we have in common, please please leave them in the comments.
The Claim - Sath - Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)   (Ren/Hux) Strapped for credits, the First Order falls back on two ancient Imperial traditions: insurance fraud, and fake marriages. turbulence, and something else - chartreuser - Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015) (Finn/Poe) Because he can't go without saying it any further: “I’m in love with him,” Poe admits sometime in the air, his voice crackling over the comms. It's Just Gravitational, We Are Unstoppable - jannika - Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015) (Finn/Poe/Rey) On a diplomatic mission to retrieve something vital to the Resistance, Poe, Rey, and Finn wind up having to pretend to be married. Miscommunication and things lost in translation, dancing, feelings, a very supportive BB-8, a mention of everyone taking Poe's last name, and general trope-filled, feel-good, nonsense. Because there is never a bad time to use the fake-married trope. The Galaxy Is Not a Cold Dead Place - thedeadparrot - Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015) (Finn/Poe/Rey) Canon Divergent AU: Finn and Poe go with Rey to find Luke Skywalker, and the mission doesn't go as smoothly as they all hoped it would. Royal Pains - Satine86 - Dragon Age: Inquisition (Cassandra/Varric) In Modern Nevarra, Cassandra is poised to be the new queen. When her advisors suggest a political marriage she doesn't want a part of, she ropes Varric into a fake engagement to save face. Adventures in Romantic Negotiation - bob-genghis-khan (idek_idic) - Captain America (Movies), Marvel Cinematic Universe (Steve/Bucky/Natasha/Sam) A web of lies and deceit is probably the answer to most problems. jump, check parachute - augustbird - Daredevil (TV) (Matt/Foggy) Foggy Nelson: good at law, terrible at feelings. This is so wonderfully and ridiculously tropey. Friends with benefits turning into awkward feelings situations! A breakup that doesn't demonize the side lady! Fake relationships! It's really great. The Scent of Honeysuckle - sqbr - Dragon Age: Inquisition (Cassandra/Josephine) Josephine thinks she's going to marry a Pentaghast. Things don't quite go according to plan. FAKE DATING! FAMILIAL INTRIGUE! IT'S SO CUTE! Happy Couple - storiesfortravellers - Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Avengers (Marvel Movies), Captain America (Movies) (Steve/Sam) For this prompt at avengerkink: Sam and Steve eventually find Bucky. For some reason, Bucky assumes Steve and Sam are together. Married-together. They try to keep up the charade for Bucky's benefit. Eventual Sam/Steve or Bucky/Steve is fine, I just need Sam and Steve being fake!married to help Bucky. this city bleeds its aching heart - Renne - Captain America (Movies), Marvel (Movies), The Avengers (2012) (Steve/Bucky) The one where Steve and Bucky pose as a happily married couple while on a mission for SHIELD, to catch an international arms dealer hiding in a suburban neighbourhood. UNDERCOVER FAKE RELATIONSHIP. CONFRONTING UNREQUITED FEELINGS. HOT PRETEND RELATIONSHIP SEX. This is tropey as hell and I love it so much. If You Also Want To Tell The Truth - impertinence - Captain America (Movies) (Steve/Sam) Diplomatic incidents happen all the time, but not all of them end in marriage. And not all trips to alien planets involve a mysterious killer. Sam and Steve are having all kinds of new experiences lately. Love among the hydrothermal vents - devildoll - MCU (Steve/Tony) In which Namor has a thing for Steve, an octopus has a thing for Tony, and Steve and Tony eventually have a thing for each other.  I think this may be one of my favorite fake relationship fics ever? It develops so satisfyingly. Rule Two - lady_ragnell - Sleepy Hollow (TV) (Abbie/Ichabod) Rule two: this is a partner thing, nothing more. Don't go getting any ideas.
