I remember how I had a very minor, barely-there jaskaveawn (or whatever tf their ship name is) fic idea that’s like a ‘fresh start’ trope with the absolute slowest of slow burns and it’s these four coming across each other post-tdpi. and it came abt bc I randomly imagined dave in one of those hairstyles where his sides are shaved or one side is, and the hair at the top (and maybe the other side) just flops together on that side. like punk vibes dave who stops giving a shit and is just tired now. this man def had an emo phase, I bet, and I’ve no doubt he would adopt the punk style (at least the general looks) if motivated

but abt the fic idea...

dave was rescued from the island due to lawsuits and his family’s influence, but everyone else assumed he was a goner and that niggling bit of guilt/regret is still there in the rest of the three (bc y’know they’re all good ppl who do have some form of connection with him, despite it all). then sometime later there’s a confrontation at a bar between dave and keith—who fucking hates his guts after the finale—and somehow dave ends up from being in an alley, close to hyperventilating bc of how grimy it is, to waking up with a hangover in jashawn’s apartment/house, and he ends up staying there, temporary at first but it stretches as time passes bc he’s drifting around with no tether; he's lost physically and metaphorically, and while he doesn't want to ever see the three ppl who, in his eyes, took part in making him this way, there is a smaller part (that grows with every interaction) that yearns for it, the touch, the acceptance, the grounding support of normalcy; he craves it but he, too, is filled with regret and shame--especially when he sees sky for the first time since the incident, and finds out that she, jasmine, and shawn still keep in touch. he feels out-of-the-loop, but he also feels he deserves it. what he did went against his believes of normalcy and he hates himself for reacting so 'abnormally extreme'. and then there's sky who doesn't know how she feels anymore so she suppresses it and honestly doesn't want to see dave and that doesn't change drastically until much later; then there's jasmine who takes sky's side more but is partially willing to hear dave out, and shawn, who's more or less the opposite (leans toward dave's side, but also sky's bc he gets both sides) like he's also stuck at the center of all this bc dave did inadvertently try to kill him too in his spite--but with all four of them in the same apartment, things get a little...well, something starts to grow. (plus there are some more keith cameos here and there that bolster that growth, though I'm sure he doesn't mean it to lmao). overall the fic touches upon the idea that every character is capable of growing and redemption, the concept of perception, how they live post-td with former competitors, but also the utter angst and panic and misunderstandings, and yeah. in my head, it’s a rollercoaster and I’ve these random scenes mapped out that I’ve no idea how to connect lmao

do you know why people tag ritsu and shou stuff as shouritshou or ritshourit? instead of the shipnames ritshou or shouritsu? im genuinely curious and confused

anon i honest to god which i could answer you but i wonder the same thing 😔 ritshou shippers specifically seem to struggle on agreeing on one shipname since 2016 so there’s like so many of them

ritshou or shouritsu are the main ones, (i beleive ritshou is the more common one) if you got shourit(s) off my post, idk if i actually messed that up trying to do ‘shouritsu’ or if i saw it somewhere else

and shouritshou is usually used to cover bases like how when there’s been ritshou weeks they’re called ‘shouritshou week’ !

(i follow the ritshou, shouritsu, and shouritshou tags lolol)

i hope this helps a bit 😭 ik for adults ships there is sometimes a reason for order of names but usually it’s just asthetic on how names fit together

rajbow (raj x bowie): o b v!! can't have one of these asks without these two, tbvh, I adore them and from what I've heard abt them, I love how Fresh handled them--the fact that the only canon gay ship is also on the list of the healthiest ships is wild and I freaking love it!! they're so adorable together too--and let me say I noticed the connection between Bowie getting crowns and Raj's name meaning 'king' immediately and it made me love them more! I can't wait to see more of them next season, and I hope Fresh doesn't fuck around with them like they've done with other ships 🤞

emwayne (emma x wayne): while I understand where the zemma shippers are coming from, I'm gonna have to say that I can see them as a pairing, but mostly I see zee and emma as friends than lovers. moving onto wayne and emma, I've seen a couple of rlly cute fanart abt them that roped me into rooting for them; also, I saw this tumblr post that talked abt wayne helping emma see that her and chase aren't right for each other bc of the break between bowie and emma's friendship; I thought it'd be cute that emma realizes what an actual relationship is supposed to be like based on the way wayne treats her and the two grow closer as he helps her come into herself more. overall, really cute pairing!!

damien x priya (idk their shipname 😭): from the screenshots I've seen of the two, I think they're cute together!! wonder if next season will involve them more 🤔 it's funny too bc it's the guy who doesn't have a clue abt total drama with the girl who knows everything abt it; like imagine priya getting damien to watch the prev seasons and damien returning next season like a fricking icon with his newfound knowledge. honestly I'm on the fence abt these two; I like them as a pairing, but also I think they're great as good friends too! (also I've seen a lot of ppl talking abt millie x priya; I personally don't have an opinion abt that, I haven't gotten that far to have one. So, to me, they're just good friends!) chazee (chase x zee): okay, hear me out on this one. before the season came out, when all I knew abt everyone were those random pics of episodes, I remember wishing chase to be gay (or bi or smth that isn't straight or he realizes he's not straight while in the show) bc it'd break that stereotype which I thought would be cool--and I shipped him with zee like offhandedly, nothing extreme, just lowkey. like I thought their shipname was cute (chazee?? hello?? literally adorable?? and I've found out that ppl are calling them cheese now too and fdhdjf that just makes it cuter). then I started watching the season and got to know chase's whole personality, I was like 'ehhhh' and this pairing just...got shunted to the far corners of my mind. THEN I came across this freaking adorable fic of these two (it's this one!) that somehow converted me back to shipping these two??? then I started thinking up random scenarios involving the two and yeah imma say I adore these two. idk I feel like zee would be good for chase, like their way of viewing the world would be pretty helpful for someone like chase?? (plus the whole sexuality crisis can still exist on chase's end bc imo zee is the kinda person to already be aware of a lot of things abt him (their gender, their sexuality, etc) but not put much emphasis on it, y'feel?), and maybe chase's way of expressing himself would balance out zee's??? who knows?? idk I feel like this ship has a lot of potential and it's worth exploring-

oh, btw, as a treat, let me talk abt my least fav character in the season after I talked abt my fav ships fhjdfhI okay so I genuinely dislike ripper so much lmfao, like in the beginning he was 'meh' to me and he just plummeted the more I watched the season. I would not subject anyone to the pain of being shipped with him at all (the only ship I can tolerate is chipper but even then it's shipped ironically and I've hardly any interest in it; sorry chipper fans lmao)😭 literally hope he gets eliminated early next season--it's what he deserves after the whole deal with axel's elimination this season.

Okay so the whole "ship names are made based on whose on top and whose on bottom" is wrong and inaccurate for the aphmau fandom actually.

In the fujioshi era, Zane was almost always a bottom. Yet if you look at his ship names his name is always at the beginning despite that. Because it's more recognisable and sounds better.

For example; Zanvis, Zane, Zante, Zaaron, Zana

Also, Vylad x Dante was made during this era for this era. For some reason people thought Vylad would bottom back then. Yet the ship name is Vylante.

Because it sounds better than danlad or whatever other shipname it would be.

So theory disproven. In the Aphmau fandom, most people didn't know that's how the shipnames used to work and didn't adhere to those rules. And most of the shipnames weren't made with that logic in mind.

actually it was true for ship names styled like "character x character" - just usually not ship names where the names were combined! so like. ship name zanvis but also usually written out as travis x zane instead of zane x travis (although obviously not everyone followed that rule, and barely anyone does that anymore from what ive seen)

if it were formatted like that zanvis would be trane and i think thats really funny. we should make that the ship name instead i think /j

ALTHOUGH i have also seen danlad be used as a ship name before (it was a long time ago and obviously the name didnt stick bc it doesnt sound as good as vylante) so? maybe there were some people who were that strict about it idk

also im cackling at "For some reason people thought Vylad would bottom" bc like. yeah idk what we were on back then 😭 in what world would vylad be a 4'11 uwu femboy twink bottom this is my 9/11
