just thinking about scary's relationship to normal again. because like. more than anyone else normal represents the team. he represents trust, and love, and second chances, and scary knows that. under the zone of truth she tells norm that she's impressed by him. she looks to him for reassurance when she finally tries to work with her friends.

she feels it. she needs it. and she can't stand it, the same way she can't stand terry trying to love her, or her mom, or herself. in a lot of ways they're all the same. like terry, norm is too clingy, he gives her too much trust, too much love, too many chances to love herself, and for that, she has to punish him the same way she punishes terry, the same way she's punishing herself.

and it's just so fucking sad because you can see the kid creating her own cycle of violence in real time. allowing the pain given to her by her father to corrode everything and everyone around her, especially the people who love her. especially the people who let her think that maybe she might be worthy of it.
