SO OBSESSED WITH YOUR EX!
✸ pairing: jason grace x fem!aphrodite!reader
✸ summary: it’s not your fault that your sister’s ex boyfriend is so stuck in your head that you can think of little else but him
✸ warnings: intense makeout but nothing more
✸ a/n: ik we’re all tired of the aphrodite reader, but it’s essential to the plot 🥲 anyways, justice for my man jason, he needs more fics
Tumblr media
You shouldn’t have been thinking about your sister’s ex boyfriend so much, and especially not like this.
Piper and Jason broke up two months ago and had both well since moved on. No hard feelings involved, just a little resolution that they were better off as friends.
It wasn’t a big deal. Really, it wasn’t.
You shouldn’t have felt so bad about how much you thought about him. He was just so captivating, so beautiful. You remembered every detail Piper had ever told you about him as well as every one you had learned on your own.
The curve of his lips and the pale scar scored through them. The flex of his muscles when he trained. Those glasses that made him look unfairly attractive.
Gods, it made you so upset that you weren’t supposed to be thinking about him like this, obsessing over the fact that you couldn’t have him.
Maybe Piper wouldn’t care. Or maybe, she’d be inflamed by the fact that you’d gotten with her ex boyfriend, friendly breakup or not. There was probably some girl code about this, right?
There definitely was, and your sisters would probably have your head if they knew you were busy breaking it.
You tried your best to stay away from Jason, you really did. If you just kept your distance, you could harbor the obsession in your own mind, keep it to yourself.
But of course, the son of Jupiter just had to notice it. Notice your distance. Notice you.
It was his fault, really, what was happening. He was the one who had approached you at the campfire, his mind set on getting an answer as to why you were trying to avoid him.
He was the one who’d followed you back to the cabins when you took off. He was the one who provoked you first.
It wasn’t your fault that everything just came spilling out. All your feelings and secrets, pretty much everything short of your guts, spewed from your mouth when you just couldn’t take the questions anymore.
This was going to hurt, you knew it would. You were prepared. And maybe, you wanted to get a little hurt.
But what you weren’t prepared for was that maybe, Jason Grace was just as obsessed with you as you were with him.
“I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t help it!” You had confessed, standing in front of the door to Cabin Ten. “You drive me absolutely crazy, Jay. And I’m probably just embarrassing myself, but you wanted an answer and this is it.”
Jason looked at your face and then down at the wrist he’d caught to stop you from going inside your cabin and that he was still holding onto. His skin was hot. His head was spinning.
He was standing really close to you. You let out a deep breath, preparing for a rejection that would be embarrassing as hell.
“Who says you shouldn’t?” He breathed out the question, a tempting little smile on his lips.
You looked at his lips. He looked at yours. You went for it.
You grabbed his forearm of the hand still holding onto you and yanked him forward. In a rush of adrenaline, you pushed your lips against his.
He responded immediately, hands gripping onto the sides of your waist as his lips mashed against yours feverishly.
You skin was alive with delight, your head buzzing with excitement.
You stumbled backwards and grabbed onto the doorknob behind you, the boy following blindly after you. You twisted it with one hand, pulling him closer to you by his arm with the other.
Nobody was inside, they were all still at the campfire and should be for another good hour.
You made your way inside somehow, hardly pulling yourself away from his captivity. On the other side of the cracked door, you looked up at him, a moment of hesitation.
“This is a bad idea, right?” You asked as you caught your breath, which mixed together with his.
“You think so?” he asked, pressing a quick kiss to your wet lips. Moonlight filtered in through the cabin windows and covered him in a beautiful glow.
“I don’t know,” you answered. Looking at him, nothing seemed like a bad idea. You knew he’d slept on the opposite side of one of these beds as Piper, you knew he’d once maybe loved her.
You knew all of that. He did too. But still, you couldn’t help it.
“Well I do. I know.” He said. The hand he had on you slid up your arm and over your shoulder, leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake. Damn son of Jupiter and his electricity.
He rested it against your cheek, warm and tingly against your skin. He stared at you like maybe he wanted to risk getting hurt too.
“I haven’t been able to get you out of my head for weeks.” He confessed, his voice husk. He trailed his other hand up your arm until it mirrored his other, now holding your face between his hands. You thought you just might die on the spot.
“Still think this is a bad idea?” He asked, face so close to yours that you could almost taste him again.
Even if it was a bad idea, it’d be fine.
“Not at all.”
He pulled you in this time. He held one hand on the side of your neck, the other on your face, and kissed you with ferocity.
You let him push you back until your back hit the door, closing it fully with a satisfying click.
You pushed your lips against his hard. No amount of close was close enough. You felt dizzy, lightheaded with bliss.
Your hands slid down his abdomen to the hem of his shirt and then, underneath. Your fingers pressed against his skin, sending shivers up his spine.
You could feel a smile tug at his lips as they moved methodically with yours, right beside where his scar was.
You’d always thought about what it might feel like, and now, you were rhapsodic that you had found out.
He forced his lips away from yours and began trailing sloppy little kisses from the corner of your mouth and across your jaw, lower and lower until his lips slotted against your neck.
You tilted your head back to assist, give him more room to roam. When it knocked against the wood behind it, he brought his hand up behind your head, carefully putting a barrier between you and the door.
He moved further down your collar bone, teeth and tongue and lips all heavenly against your skin.
One particular nip provoked a gasp from you, and your nails dug into the flesh of his abdomen, leaving little crescent shapes that would be there in the morning to remind him.
No sooner did you hear voices. Outside, there were footsteps crunching against the grass and the sound of voices as campers returned from the campfire. The one time they end early.
“Jase,” you sighed, your hands crawling out from underneath his shirt, much to your dismay. “People are coming.”
He pulled away from you, looking at you with disheveled hair, swollen lips, and beautiful as ever. He looked at you like you were the most precious thing on earth, smiling at the fact he had been allowed to lay hands on you.
“You kicking me out?” He asked teasingly, voice low and insanely attractive so that it was such a shame he couldn’t stay.
“I dunno, do you want to get caught?”
“Hmm, maybe next time.”
You suppressed a smile as you pushed him towards the window at the back of the cabin. “Next time?”
“Yep,” he quipped, pushing open the glass pane and letting in the summer air. It was almost like he’d done it before. “None negotiable. You’re stuck with me now, sweetheart.”
You breathed out a laugh as he ducked down towards the window. “Get out.”
The doorknob to the cabin twisted, and Jason pressed a chaste kiss to your head, whispered to you a goodnight, and then he was gone.
You could hear his feet hit the grass as the door swung open and in walked Piper and Drew.
“What was that?” Piper asked as you quickly slammed window shut.
“Nothing.”

WAR AND BEAUTY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WARNINGS: Just cuss words and Clarisse getting jealous.
Pairing: Clarisse x Child of Aphrodite Reader
Summary: Clarrise gets jealous because Percy is in love with her girlfriend.
REQUESTED?: YES
Requested by: @kitten-reader
Tumblr media
You were the daughter of Aphrodite, the Goddess of beauty and love. And you fell in love with Clarisse, the daughter of Ares, the God of war.
It's basically you fell first but she fell harder.
Most people might say that you both were not a good match, but don't worry, Clarisse had a little "chat" with them.
You love Clarisse, and she loves you too.
....
You were walking with Clarisse, side-by-side. You liked the little strolls around camp-half blood with her.
"Hey!-"
You turned your head around to see a blonde-haired boy. Your girlfriend just bumped into him.
Clarisse pushed him to the ground, making him fall on his back. "Hey- Why you did do that?" You asked grabbing her arm gently, making her face you.
Before she could speak, Luke caught her off.
"Woah- Hey! Knock it off Clarrise, it's like his first day come on." Said Luke making Clarisse look at him.
"So this is the kid who killed the minotaur, is that right?" She asked, walking a little closer to the blonde boy.
"Yeah?" He said, looking nervous.
"I'll bet."
Said Clarisse making the new kid walk backward, trying to get away.
"Like you want attention around here Dummy? Better be ready for it when it comes."
"Clarisse-"
She jerked her head toward the new kid, making him flinch.
She and her friends laughed, walking away. You walked behind her, trying to catch up.
"Clarisse, that was mean," You said putting your hand on her shoulder. "He deserved it" She replied, she looked angry.
"Why?" You asked, "What did he do wrong?"
"He lied about killing the minotaur, he wants attention." Said Clarisse, answering your question. "How do you even know he did?" You asked.
"I know that kid Is fucking lying, I just know it" Said Clarisse, cussing under her breath.
"Clarisse, language," You said, making her groan and rolling her eyes.
"Whatever," Said Clarisse, walking back to her cabin. You sighed. What are you gonna do with this girl?
...
You were eating breakfast, it was nothing special. It's just toast and fruits.
You looked at your surroundings. You saw the other Cabin kids eating in another table.
"Hey, could I sit here?"
You turned your head only to see the boy from yesterday. "Oh- Yah sure" You replied, scooting over to give him space.
The boy sat beside you, placing his Mac-n-cheese on the table beside your boring toast and fruits'
"My name is Percy," He said taking a spoonful of man-n-cheese. He looked like a chipmunk because of how much food he put in his mouth.
"Nice to meet you, Percy! My name is Y/N" You replied, taking a bite of your half-eaten toast.
"I think I saw you yesterday, with that girl named-"
"Clarisse?" You asked, "Yeah her!" He said. " Why was she so mean? Like what did I even do?!" Percy asked, looking at his ball of Mac-n-cheese.
"Clarisse is like that sometimes, she did not mean it." You lied, knowing that she really meant it. You just wanted to stand up for your girlfriend.
"Are you claimed?" He asked. "Yeah! I'm the daughter of Aphrodite." You replied. "The Goddess of Love and Beauty?" He asked.
"Yeah, that's my mom" You replied, giving a little chuckle. "Well, good thing that you're claimed. My dad has been ignoring me for my whole life." He said sadly.
"Oh..." You did not know what to say or how to react. It took a year for your mother to claim you. You did not really care it took that long for her to notice you.
You missed staying in the Hermes cabin, it was fun when it lasted. "I'm sorry about what happened to you," You said to Percy, putting your hand on his shoulder and giving a warm smile.
"I- uh no- its fine" Stuttered Percy, turning his head away from you, and taking a bite from his food.
You chuckled, taking one last bite of your now cold toasted bread and eating the last piece of fruit.
"See you later Percy" You said before standing up and taking your plate away.
You walked over to the pile of dirty dishes, placing your on one of the stacks.
"Why was he talking to you?" You turned your head to the voice, it was Clarisse. "What do you mean?" You asked turning your body to her.
"I mean why was he talking to you?" She asked once again, clearly getting a little upset. "Why are you asking me this?"
"I asked you first." Said Clarisse, moving closer to you. "He was just being nice" You replied.
"Nice?! You're saying that he was trying to be nice when he was obviously in love with you?!" Said Clarisse.
"What?" You asked. Percy likes you? But how? You just met like yesterday, how can he already like you?
"He's in love with you and I fucking hate it so stop hanging around him!" Said Clarisse walking away from you.
"Clarisse stop acting like this!" You said before running after her.
She ignored you as she walked to her cabin. "Clarisse!" You shouted, but she still did not listen.
Clarisse went inside her cabin, shutting the door. You sighed, you did not know why Clarisse was acting like this, you and Percy are just friends, nothing less nothing more.
...
You were sitting under a tree while writing in the journal Clarisse gifted you for your birthday.
"Hey"
You looked up to see only to see Clarisse standing in front of you. "Hey" You replied, looking back down on your journal.
She sat beside you as she bites her lip. "I'm sorry for what happened yesterday, I just- um... I just felt something that made me act that way," She said looking down.
"You felt jealous?" You asked, looking up at her. She widens her eyes, turning her head to you. "I- uh no" She replied, not knowing how to admit to you that she was jealous of Percy.
You chuckled and closed your journal. "Tell me the truth Clarisse, I know when you lie."
Your words made her groan, "Fine I was, so what!?" She said blushing and covering her face.
"I did not know the daughter of Ares can blush," You said jokingly, making her groan even more.
"Shut up," She said, turning to you with a smile on her face. "Make me." You said as you smirked at her.
"You're truly the daughter of Aphrodite, you're so lovely Dovey," She said, making you both laugh.
She leaned closer to you, her eyes on your soft lips. "I know a way to make you shut up" she said.
"Then do it," you whispered making eye contact with her.
She moved closer, making both of your lips touch. Her lips felt warm and plump against your lips, it felt nice.
"Oh uh-"
You pulled back from the kiss and looked up at the person. "Oh hi Percy" You said, getting embarrassed that he saw what you and Clarisse were doing.
"I did not know you liked girls," He said awkwardly. "I-Uh I did not mean it in a bad way- I just-"
"Get lost dummy" Said Clarisse rolling her eyes. "Clarisse that's mean," You said, making her groan.
"Oh uh- sorry yah I should go" Said Percy before running away. You watched him run away, making Clarisse sigh in relief.
"Good thing his gone, now where were we?" She asked as she smirked, before leaning closer.
You put your finger on her lips, making her look at you confused. "We are not gonna kiss until you say sorry for the mean things that you did to him" You said to Clarisse, making her groan in annoyance.
"Are you seriously making me do that right now?!" She asked, leaning her back on the tree. "Yes, now go and apologise or else no kisses,"
"Ugh fine" muttered Clarisse as she stood up and dusted the dirt from her pants. "But I'm only doing this because I love you," said Clarisse as she started to walk away to find Percy.
"I love you too Clarisse!" You shouted, making her turn her head and smile at you. "Ok now go apologise," You shouted, making her huff in annoyance.
I guess War and Beauty goes well together after all.

jason grace x daughter of aphrodite⚡️
reader tries to find a way to get her boyfriend to take a break
tw mentions of skipping dinner
˚₊‧ ♡ ‧₊˚
Y/N sat in cabin ten completely ruled with boredom. She had painted her nails, done her makeup, made her bed, made several of her siblings beds, but still she could not find a way to entertain herself.
“Come on, Y/N,” she looked up at the sound of her sister’s voice, “what’s wrong?” Piper now sat at the end of Y/N’s bed, looking at her sympathetically.
Y/N rolled her eyes, “nothing’s wrong, Piper, I’m fine.”
“Jason’s busy and no one else lets you annoy them as much.”
Ding, ding, ding!
She grabbed a pillow and hid her face in it, “he’s always busy.”
Her sister laughed and took the pillow away, “if you go to his cabin, I doubt he’ll turn you away.”
Y/N shrugged, “I know, but I’ve tried to go to his cabin while he’s working on something and I’m just as bored there.”
“Talk his ear off until he has no choice but to pay attention to you,” Piper joked.
Y/N laughed, “I’ll try.”
“Good luck!” Piper called to Y/N as she walked out of the door.
Y/N hopelessly made her way to cabin one. She knew how seriously Jason took his work and this might as well be a wild goose chase, but she also knew she was driving her siblings crazy. When she finally reached the cabin, she didn't even bother to knock on the door. She let herself in, finding an exhausted Jason sitting at his desk with a pencil in his hand.
He glanced over at her, “hey.”
She smiled, walking over to him. She rested her head on top of his and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, “whatcha doin’?” She knew exactly what he was doing, plans of altars for minor gods filling his desk. When he hummed in response, she could tell how weary he was, “you weren't at dinner. Did you eat at all?”
“Not yet,” he answered, slightly resting against her arm.
She moved to now be kneeling beside his chair, looking up at him, “baby,” she grabbed his hand, “I love you and I get how important this is to you, but you should understand how important you are to me,” she paused and waited for his eyes to meet hers, “you need to take a break.”
He sighed, not wanting to agree with her, knowing she was right. He squeezed her hand before finally putting down his pencil and standing up. She smiled and softly pressed a kiss to his lips.
“Let’s go get you something to eat,” she spoke, dragging him out of the cabin.
He chuckled at her urgency but followed her anyway. If there was one thing that mattered to either of them, it was that no matter what, where, or how, they would find a way to prove just how much they loved the other. Whether that was trying to convince a workaholic to take a break or admitting when the other was right.

You weren’t supposed to be there
It was too high, too unsafe, and all he could think was that you weren’t supposed to be there. Where did you come from, actually? Last thing Jason remembered was being at the top of the Empire State Building, being threatened by his step mother over something trivial.
It was loud and he couldn’t focus and all he could think about was that you weren’t supposed to be there.
The wind rushed in his ears. Juno was furious, overbearing; lightning cracked between his fingertips and Jason kept an eye on you. What were you doing there? With his brain clouded, he set his eyes on his step mother once more, letting the words coming from her mouth corner him like a predator to its prey.
“It’s better for them to die now, lest you take after your father.” Juno spoke sadly, turning towards you. “My dear, it’s better to die of anything than to live with a broken heart.” Jason blinked, fingers twitching. So you were there, but how did you get there?
“Wait- Wait a second. Die? I have to die so Jace doesn’t cheat on me?” You asked, laughing nervously. The wind whipped through your hair, nearly blinding you as your eyes became watery, and you stumbled. “I don’t think he’s gonna cheat on me. Maybe you’re-“
“He’s the son of Jupiter, you insolent half-breed. Sooner or later you’ll be on your knees begging Venus to fix what went awry in your relationship, and she won’t be able to help you.” Juno spat, approaching you quickly. You backed up as far as you could, nearly slipping as the heels of your shoes hit the edge of the roof.
“Hey- Get away from them-“ Jason finally speaks up, but his voice sounds foggy, too far, even to himself. He rushed towards the both of you, and his blue eyes met your own as Juno’s hand wrapped around your throat with the utmost of grace. Your eyes went wide.
“Jason- Jace-“ You started, struggling in the goddess’ hold.
“How pathetic. Calling for a man who doesn’t love you?” Juno hummed, lifting you off of your feet. You struggled violently, looking at your boyfriend helplessly.
Jason managed to grip Juno’s arm, hand like a vice as electricity pumped through his fingertips. “Let them go. What my father has done to you has nothing to do with me, or them. Don’t make me hurt you.” He spoke lowly, and Juno stared down at him, annoyance written all over her face.
“Do you really think you’d be able to harm me, Jason Grace? Your father was never able to get me to cower in fear. Neither will you.” She spat, and her movements were quick as you were flung backwards, and over the edge of the roof.
The scream that followed you as you plummeted was haunting. With only your preservation on his mind, Jason let go of his step mother, racing towards the edge of the roof and diving off, hoping to gain more speed to catch up to you.
You weren’t supposed to be there and Jason knew you weren’t supposed to be there and yet there you were anyway, plummeting towards the pavement faster than Jason could think. “Jason!” You cried out, and he thinks he felt your tears hit his face as you flailed, begging for him to catch you.
He had to catch you. Harnessing the wind around him he forced himself to plummet faster, faster. And yet it wasn’t enough, it was never enough as you were always just out of his grasp, falling just faster than he could manage. If he was just a bit faster, if he could just-
Your face changed. Below him, you started to sob, begging him to catch you. Begging him to do anything just to get to you. Jason’s heart was racing, and his entire body felt like it had been through the ringer more than enough times. Yet he pushed on because he had to catch you. There was no other option.
Jason shifted his hand, swiping at the air below you to pull you back up to him at the last second. A sickening crunch filled his ears, and his eyes widened as he watched you go limp. “No. No- no no no no no- no-“ He spoke, steadying himself as he got to the ground on his feet. “No- hey, Y/n. Hey- hey babe-“ He approached you cautiously, cradling your neck in one hand as he held you against himself. “Hey- you gotta get up. You’re okay- hey-“ He whispered quietly, tears forming in his eyes.
“Oh my god- are they okay? Did they-“ A woman looked up at the Empire State Building, a grimace on her face. “I’ll call 911- oh my god-“ She breathed, pulling out her phone and dialing the number.
She spoke into the phone, but Jason couldn’t hear her anymore. Eyes filled with tears, he could barely make out your face as your head hung dangerously in his hold. He tried feeling for a pulse, any pulse, and yet he felt nothing, no heartbeat, no pulse, no breathing. “No-“ Throat tight, Jason tensed up, holding you tighter. “No- this can’t-“ He couldn’t speak.
“We’re at the bottom of the Empire State Building- yes. Yeah, I’m not sure what’s happening but they’re not- no breathing. I don’t think he found a pulse either. I think they jumped?” The woman spoke into her phone, eyes filled with worry as she watched Jason cry into the fabric you wore. “They’re dead- oh god-“ She whispered, voice shaky.
Jason couldn’t breathe.
Sitting up and gasping for air, he clutched at the blankets covering him, knuckles white. A cold sweat made his clothes stick to his body, and his mind was foggy. Blinking slowly, he felt the mattress around him, grounding him to real life. “Fuck- okay.” He muttered, feeling around the bed.
His hands grazed your side of the bed.
The bed was empty. Unfocused blue eyes blinked quickly, shifting around the room as they looked for one thing only, mild panic settling into his bones as he couldn’t find you. Electricity danced in his fingertips, shifting from one to the other.
Haphazardly, he got out of bed, squinting as he looked for any trace of you. Jason nearly knocked his glasses off his dresser, and he practically shoved him onto his face as he got out of his room, rushing towards the next room, any room, just to-
“Jace?” He froze, and you blinked at him, cocking your head. His breaths were uneven and heavy; you rested a hand on his shoulder, feeling him tense beneath you. His mind was still clouded with sleep. “Are you okay? Here-“ You handed him the glass of water in your other hand, furrowing your eyebrows slightly. “Did ya have a bad dream?” You yawned, rubbing at one of your eyes.
A yelp escaped your lips as strong arms wrapped around your middle and he hoisted you up into his arms, grip tight and relentless. Your legs wrapped around his torso, and he grumbled something into your shoulder as he carried you back to his room, fingers trembling and shocking you slightly. “Jace, hey- what’s wrong-“
He drops you onto his bed, and the water in your cup nearly spilled everywhere had you not had half a mind to set it aside. “Jason.” You spoke, more firmly, and he blinked at you, then looked down at his hands.
“I’m sorry.” He muttered, and you sighed, pulling him closer.
“What’s wrong?” You asked again, and his hands came up to cradle your face, still shaky but no longer shocking you.
“Jus’ a bad dream. Very bad. But you’re okay, and alive, and here so it’s- it’s fine.” Jason pressed chaste kisses to your lips, quick and filled with a sort of fear. It wasn’t common for him to be so affectionate, and yet here he was, practically smothering you.
“Jace-“ You hummed in-between kisses, watching as your boyfriend eased up on the affection. “Baby I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what happened.” Your hand found its way into his blond hair, and he sighed as you raked your fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.
He didn’t want to tell you. It was just a dream, after all, there’s no need to tell you. His eyes met yours, and your pointed stare forced the words right out of his mouth. “Juno. I had a dream she threw you off of the Empire State Building, and you fell. You were crying and I couldn’t catch you. I almost had you but you-“ Jason winced, the sickening crunch playing over in his head once more.
You held his face, him, your world, in your hands. “Jason, I'm right here. I’m not going anywhere if I can help it.” You laughed softly, and watched as a small smile adorned his lips. “I’m okay. We're okay.” You breathed, and a sigh escaped his lips as he leaned forward, sending you back into his bed.
Pinned beneath him, you huffed, and he pressed kisses along your jaw before settling on top of you, burying his face in your neck. He pulled his glasses off and tossed them somewhere in the room haphazardly, before sighing and settling his hips between your legs comfortably.
His arms held you tight. “You’re like a big baby, I swear- you’re crushing me-“ You wheezed dramatically, and Jason sank further into you, crushing you against his mattress. You sputtered beneath him, and felt him smile against your skin. “Asshole- get off-“ You laughed breathily, and he shifted ever so slightly, allowing air to reach your lungs once more. You hummed in content, and he grumbled, pressing his face against your shoulder.
Jason wanted to wrap himself in your being and never let go. He wanted to drown in you, entirely, the only sounds being your soft breaths and the hammer of your heart against his ears. For a moment, he felt entirely too selfish, and he embraced it, fingers tracing beneath your shirt as you fell asleep beneath him, fingers lost in his hair.
Losing you in his dream was enough.
He pressed a chaste kiss to your collarbone, and watched you shift towards his touch. Humming softly, he closed his eyes, feeling the rise and fall of your breath beneath him.
Sometimes he wished he were the son of Kronos, able to stop the flow of time whenever he pleased.
If he could, he’d never leave.
There wasn’t a more blissful life to him than being wrapped up in your arms for all eternity.

pls can you make a Jason grace x son of Aphrodite!reader fic
ooo a jason grace fic i don't have many of those
---------------------------------------
Jason stood at the door to the Aphrodite cabin looking slightly panicked.
I blinked the sleep from my eyes. "Jason, do you know what time it is?"
He gestured for me to come through the door. I did so, closing the door quietly behind me.
"Yes, yes, it's about half 4 in the morning." He wrung his hands and shifted from foot to foot. I closed my eyes, cursing my boyfriend for waking me up from my delightful sleep. I exhaled and looked back at him.
"Dearest boyfriend, light of my gay little life, why in all of Hades am I awake at half 4 in the morning?"
Jason blushed and grinned despite his clear nervousness. He began to walk away, explaining as he went. I huffed after him, bare feet brushing against the damp grass. I noticed that Jason was also barefoot and also in his pyjamas.
"Well," he began. "I was going to do something really romantic, I made a beach picnic breakfast thing." Adorable. "And I was going to wake you up at maybe 7am? That's not too early, it's a good breakfast time, right?"
Nodding, I slipped my hand into his, chilly hand smooth against my sleep-warm skin. "7am is much better than half 4."
"Right, so I got a blanket and had a basket yesterday and I asked Piper and Leo to help me and they weren't much help at all so I asked Hazel instead and she helped me bake some... bakery stuff."
I sent a soft smile his way. "Aww, you baked? That's so sweet and you're so gay."
Jason affectionately rolled his eyes and kissed my cheek. "Shut up, you love me, and I hope you'll still love me after you see... what happened." He cringed at the memory of whatever had happened.
"Babe, what did you get me up for?"
We rounded the corner to actually be on the beach and Jason's panic from earlier became clear. Where there had clearly been a picnic basket and a blanket and possibly some glasses, now smoked a pile of burned... stuff.
"Jason? What happened to your romantic breakfast?"
Jason almost cowered away from the sight. "Um, I don't think I have very good control over myself very early in the morning and I got irritated because the glasses kept tipping over." He wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his face in my neck. "And I sort of called down a small lightning strike and sort of... burnt everything to a crisp."
I tried not to laugh, but my ribcage was shuddering with barely contained mirth.
"Don't laugh, you're awful, I didn't know what to do so I came to you for help and you're just laughing at me!" Jason's voice was muffled against me.
I ran my fingers through his blond hair and chuckled. "This is why we don't get up before 8am, babe, remember?" He muttered something about not remembering that rule. "It's alright, hun, I don't mind."
Jason removed his face from my neck and looked at me. "You don't mind? But I ruined everything and then I panicked and now you're standing barefoot on the beach and it's fucking freezing."
Pecking his lips, I smiled softly, letting myself getting lost in his sky blue eyes. "The thought was adorable, and honestly the sunrise is still very romantic." The sea was purple, the sky pink and orange, it was gorgeous. How could I be mad when I was awake to see such beauty? "How about, we clean this up, gather more things for a picnic and have it in the evening instead, hm?"
Jason visibly relaxed and I squeaked as he swung me, bridal style, into his arms.
"See, I knew you'd know what to do." He began walking away from the beach. "I would say you were the brains and I'm the beauty but you pretty much have that covered too."

Lost hero XV -Leo & Breisa
A sense of impeding doom

Warnings: Cursing, monsters, near death experiences, fire, canon typical violence (not graphic), teenagers being teenagers, first heroic experiences
Word count: 4k words
Summary: Cyclops…Why did it have to be cyclops?
<<Prev
Leo stopped at the door and tried to control breathing.
The voice of the earth woman rang in his ears, reminding him of that night. The last thing he wanted was to plunge into another dark warehouse.
Like he was eight years old all over again—alone, small, and helpless as people he cared about were trapped inside and in trouble.
“Oye, nada de eso.” Breisa said. “Don’t let her get to you. Alright? We got this.” She was shaking, but she held her own ground.
That didn’t make him any less scared. But it gave him enough courage– he breathed and creaked the door open.
Together they peered inside.
Nothing looked different.
Gray morning light filtered through the hole in the roof. A few light bulbs buzzed, but most of the factory floor was still covered in shadows.
But he was able to make out the catwalk above with shapes of heavy machinery along the assembly line, but no movement. No sign of his friends.
Leo almost called out, but something stopped him—a sense he couldn’t identify. Then he realized it was a smell.
Something smelled wrong—like burning motor oil and sour breath. Something not human was inside the factory.
Leo was certain. His body shifted into high gear, all his nerves tingling.
Somewhere on the factory floor, Piper’s voice cried out: “Leo, Breisa! help!”
Breisa held a finger to her lips. Her voice rang in his mind, ‘She couldn’t have gone off the catwalk. Not with a broken ankle.’
They slipped inside and ducked behind a cargo container.
Slowly, with weapons in hand, they inching toward the center of the room, hiding behind boxes and hollow truck chassis.
Finally, they reached the assembly line, crouched behind the nearest piece of machinery—a crane with a robotic arm.
Piper’s voice called out again: “Leo? Breisa?” Less certain this time, but very close.
They peeked around the crane.
Hanging directly above the other side of the assembly line was a massive truck engine—just dangling thirty feet up, as if it had been left there when the factory was abandoned.
Below it on the conveyor belt sat a truck chassis, and clustered around it were three dark shapes the size of forklifts.
Beside the forklifts dangling from chains, on another crane, were two smaller shapes—maybe more engines. One of them was wriggling around as if it were alive.
Breisa held a hand to her mouth to stifle a gasp.
Then one of the forklift shapes rose, and Leo realized it was a humanoid of massive size.
“Told you it was nothing,” the thing rumbled. Its voice was too deep and feral to be human.
The other forklift-sized lump shifted. It called out in Piper’s voice: “Leo, help me! Help—” Then the voice changed, becoming a masculine snarl. “Bah, there’s nobody out there. No demigods could be that quiet, eh?”
The first monster chuckled. “Probably ran away, if they know what’s good for them. Or the girl was lying about the demigods. Let’s get cooking.”
Snap.
A bright orange light sizzled to life—an emergency flare—and Leo was temporarily blinded. He ducked behind the crane until the spots cleared from his eyes.
‘Santa madre de los dioses.’ Breisa’s thoughts flood rushed him. She was still looking over the crane.
Then he took another peep and saw a nightmare scene.
The two smaller things dangling from the crane arm weren’t engines. They were Jason and Piper. Both hung upside down, tied by their ankles and cocooned with chains up to their necks.
Piper was wriggling around, trying to free herself. Her mouth was gagged, but at least she was alive.
Jason didn’t look so good. He hung limply, his eyes rolled up. A red welt the size of an apple had swollen over his left eyebrow.
On the conveyor belt, the bed of the unfinished pickup truck was being used as a fire pit. Which, from the smell of it, had been doused in kerosene.
A big metal pole was suspended over the flames—a spit, Leo realized.
‘They're gonna cook them alive!’ Breisa’s eyes stayed on the creatures as she gripped her weapon.
He looked at the creatures and almost choked.
They were most terrifying.
Monocle Motors: that single red eye logo.
Why hadn’t Leo realized?
Three massive humanoids gathered around the fire. Two were standing, stoking the flames. The largest one crouched with his backside facing Breisa and Leo. They were each ten feet tall, with hairy muscular bodies and skin that glowed red in the firelight. One of the monsters wore a chainmail loincloth that looked really uncomfortable.
The other wore a ragged fuzzy toga made of fiberglass insulation, which also would not have made Leo’s top ten wardrobe ideas.
The two monsters could’ve been twins. Each had a brutish face with a single eye in the center of his forehead.
The cooks were Cyclopes.
Leo felt his legs shaking. He’d seen some weird things so far—storm spirits, magic girls, winged gods, and a metal dragon that liked Tabasco sauce.
But this was different.
These were actual, flesh-and-blood, ten-foot-tall living monsters who wanted to eat his friends for dinner.
He was so terrified he could hardly think.
If only they had Festus. They could use a fire-breathing sixty-foot-long tank about now.
But all he had was a tool belt and a backpack. His three-pound club hammer looked awfully small compared to those Cyclopes. No better than Breisa’s ax— a mere kitchen knife.
This is what the sleeping earth lady had been talking about. She wanted Leo to walk away and leave his friends to die.
That decided it. No way was Leo going to let that earth lady make him feel powerless—never again. Leo slipped off his backpack and quietly started to unzip it.
The Cyclops in the loincloth walked over to Piper, who squirmed and tried to head-butt him in the eye.
She was fierce, even in the worst possible situation— Breisa respected that.
“Can I take her gag off now? I like it when they scream.”
The question was directed at the third Cyclops, apparently the leader. The crouching figure grunted, and Loincloth ripped the gag off Piper’s mouth.
She didn’t scream. She took a shaky breath like she was trying to keep herself calm.
Meanwhile, Leo found what he wanted in the pack: a stack of tiny remote control units that he founded in bunker 9.
‘'¡¿Qué estás haciendo?!’ Breisa telepathically asked.
‘Improvising’ He remarked–feeling around the robotic crane and propped open a maintenance panel.
He slipped a screwdriver from his tool belt and went to work, but he had to go slowly.
The leader Cyclops was only twenty feet in front of him. The monsters obviously had excellent senses.
Pulling off his plan without making noise seemed impossible, but he didn’t have much choice.
‘Keep an eye out or something.’
‘This is crazy.’ She grumbled but kept her ax ready.
The Cyclops in the toga poked at the fire, that billowed noxious black smoke into the ceiling.
His buddy Loincloth glowered at Piper, waiting for her to do something entertaining. “Scream, girl! I like funny screaming!”
When Piper finally spoke; her tone was calm and reasonable, like she was scolding a naughty puppy. “Oh, Mr. Cyclops, you don’t want to kill us. It would be much better if you let us go.”
Loincloth scratched his ugly head. He turned to his friend in the fiberglass toga.
“She’s kind of pretty, Torque. Maybe I should let her go.”
Torque, the dude in the toga, growled. “I saw her first, Sump. I’ll let her go!”
Sump and Torque started to argue. But then the third Cyclops rose and shouted, “Fools!”
Leo almost dropped his screwdriver. Breisa's ax slipped.
The third Cyclops was a female.
She was several feet taller than Torque or Sump, and even beefier. She wore a chain mail-like sack dress that Leo’s crazy mean Tía Rosa used have—a muumuu.
Her greasy black hair was matted in pigtails, woven with copper wires and metal washers. Her nose and mouth were thick— and mashed together, like she spent her free time ramming her face into walls; but her single red eye glittered with evil intelligence.
The woman Cyclops stalked over to Sump and pushed him aside, knocking him over the conveyor belt. Torque backed up quickly.
“The girl is Venus spawn,” the lady Cyclops snarled. “She’s using charmspeak on you.”
Piper started to say, “Please, ma’am—”
The lady Cyclops grabbed Piper around the waist. “Don’t try your pretty talk on me, girl! I’m Ma Gasket! I’ve eaten heroes tougher than you for lunch!”
‘Probably more than heroes.’ Breisa thought.
Leo grumbled ‘Shut up. Genius at work here.”
With furious concentration, he was able to twist wires and turn switches: hardly thinking about what he was doing. He finished attaching the remote. Then he crept over to the next robotic arm, Breisa following beside him, as the Cyclopes were talking.
“—eat her last, Ma?” Sump was saying.
“Idiot!” Ma Gasket yelled, and Leo realized Sump and Torque must be her sons. If so, ugly definitely ran in the family. “I should’ve thrown you out on the streets when you were babies, like proper Cyclops children. You might have learned some useful skills. Curse my soft heart that I kept you!”
“Soft heart?” Torque muttered.
“What was that, you ingrate?”
“Nothing, Ma. I said you got a soft heart. We get to work for you, feed you, file your toenails—”
Ugh Breisa gagged mentally
“And you should be grateful!” Ma Gasket bellowed. “Now, stoke the fire, Torque! And Sump, you idiot, my case of salsa is in the other warehouse. Don’t tell me you expect me to eat these demigods without salsa!”
“Yes, Ma,” Sump said. “I mean no, Ma. I mean—”
“Go get it!” Ma Gasket picked up a nearby truck chassis and slammed it over Sump’s head. Sump crumpled to his knees.
Both Leo and Breisa winced at the sound, but Sump apparently got hit by trucks a lot. He managed to push the chassis off his head. Then he staggered to his feet and ran off to fetch the salsa.
‘Now’s the time’, Leo thought. ‘While they’re separated.’
‘On it.’ Breisa sheathed her ax on her belt loops.
‘What are you—?’ He huffed as finished wiring the second machine.
‘Improvising.’ She looked at any opening between robotic cranes or Cyclopes— and she spotted it! ‘I got Piper and Jason.’
Breisa crept behind the robotic arms onto the stacks of crates. She climbed and jumped quietly onto each stack, from a distance it looked like stairs.
Leo realized she was aiming for the catwalk.
He then dashed between robotic arms, the Cyclopes didn’t see him, but Piper did. Her expression turned from terror to disbelief, and she gasped.
Ma Gasket turned to her. “What’s the matter, girl? So fragile I broke you?”
Thankfully, Piper was a quick thinker. She looked away and said, “I think it’s my ribs, ma’am. If I’m busted up inside, I’ll taste terrible.”
Ma Gasket bellowed with laughter. “Good one. The last hero we ate— remember him, Torque? Son of Mercury, wasn’t he?”
“Yes, Ma,” Torque said. “Tasty. Little bit stringy.”
“He tried a trick like that. Said he was on medication. But he tasted fine!”
“Tasted like mutton,” Torque recalled. “Purple shirt. Talked in Latin. Yes, a bit stringy, but good.”
Leo’s fingers froze on the panel. Breisa halted on the bars, hanging low from the catwalk.
Apparently, Piper was having the same thought, because she asked, “Purple shirt? Latin?”
“Good eating,” Ma Gasket said fondly. “Point is, girl, we’re not as dumb as people think! We’re not falling for those stupid tricks and riddles, not us northern Cyclopes.”
Leo forced his focus back on the panel, but his mind was racing. A kid who spoke Latin had been caught here—in a purple shirt like Jason’s? That could everything or nothing at all, but he had to leave the interrogation to Piper.
If he was going to have any chance of defeating these monsters, he had to move fast before Sump came back.
He looked up seeing Breisa doing a pull-up onto the walk, laying flat for balance.
She crawled on belly—trying not to be seen— to the cocoon chains.
Leo noticed a few inches away from the catwalk an engine was hanging right above the Cyclopes’ campsite. He wished he could use that—it would make a great weapon.
But the crane holding it was on the opposite side of the conveyor belt.
There was no way Leo could get over there without being seen, and besides, he was running short on time. He hoped Breisa could reach Jason and Piper before him.
From above he heard a creeek then the metal piece fell right beside him with a clang!
Leo was out of the way, luckily— the metal rod would have impaled him from the back.
What the fuck is she doing?!
He glanced again— the catwalk swaying sideways. Breisa gripping onto the railing for dear life, holding herself with shaky strength.
The Cyclopes started to look up to the sound of rattling chains.
“This place is falling apart! Luckily you northern cyclopes are keeping it in good working condition!” Piper kept talking, laying on the praise. “Oh, I’ve heard about the northern Cyclopes!” Which Leo figured was bull, but she sounded convincing. “I never knew you were so big and clever!”
That was enough for Breisa to lean herself from the walk onto rusted crane. She skidded across like she was on monkey bars. Hanging right where the metal cocoons were linked.
“Flattery won’t work either,” Ma Gasket said, though she sounded pleased. “It’s true, you’ll be breakfast for the best Cyclopes around.”
“But aren’t Cyclopes good?” Piper asked. “I thought you made weapons for the gods.”
“Bah! I’m very good. Good at eating people. Good at smashing. And good at building things, yes, but not for the gods. Our cousins, the elder Cyclopes, they do this….”
Leo tuned out mothermae-eye, as he could faintly hear Breisa spewing out a prayer.
‘Please Hecate don't let them see me. For the love of god. Or whatever weirdos in the sky. Or the universe, if anyone is listening to me— let me stay hidden to them.’
As the trickiest part of the plan was nearly done, Leo summoned some wires, a radio adapter, and a smaller screwdriver from his and started to build a universal remote.
For the first time, he said a silent thank-you to his dad—Hephaestus—for the magic tool belt.
Get me out of here, he prayed, and maybe you’re not such a jerk.
“—Titans lost. No good! No more need for Cyclops weapons.”
“Oh, no,” Piper sympathized. “I’m sure you made some amazing weapons.”
Torque grinned. “Squeaky war hammer!” He picked up a large pole with an accordion-looking metal box on the end.
He slammed it against the floor and the cement cracked, but there was also a sound like the world’s largest rubber ducky getting stomped.
“Terrifying,” Piper said.
Torque looked pleased. “Not as good as the exploding ax, but this one can be used more than once.”
“Can I see it?” Piper asked. “If you could just free my hands—”
Torque stepped forward eagerly, but Ma Gasket said, “Stupid! She’s tricking you again. Enough talk! Slay the boy first before he dies on his own. I like my meat fresh.”
No! Leo’s fingers flew, connecting the wires for the remote. Just a few more minutes!
“Hey, wait,” Piper said, trying to get the Cyclopes’ attention. “Hey, can I just ask—”
The wires sparked in Leo’s hand.
Breisa was half-way down the chains, on Jason's side since he was farther away. She halted mid-climb.
The Cyclopes froze and turned in his direction. Then Torque picked up a truck and threw it at him.
Leo rolled as the truck steamrolled over the machinery. If he’d been a half-second slower, he would’ve been smashed.
Breisa breathed a sigh of relief as he got to his feet, she thought he had gotten crushed. Hell he would’ve exploded into chunks, on a count of how small he was.
Ma Gasket spotted him. She yelled, “Torque, you pathetic excuse for a Cyclops, get him!”
Torque barreled toward him. Leo frantically gunned the toggle on his makeshift remote.
Torque was fifty feet away. Twenty feet.
Then the first robotic arm whirred to life. A three-ton yellow metal claw slammed the Cyclops in the back so hard, he landed flat on his face. Before Torque could recover, the robotic hand grabbed him by one leg and hurled him straight up.
“AHHHHH!” Torque rocketed into the gloom. The ceiling was too dark and too high up to see exactly what happened, but judging from the harsh metal clang, Leo guessed the Cyclops had hit one of the support girders.
Torque never came down. Instead, yellow dust rained to the floor. Torque had disintegrated.
Ma Gasket stared at Leo in shock. “My son ... You ... You ...”
As if on cue, Sump lumbered into the firelight with a case of salsa. “Ma, I got the extra-spicy—”
He never finished his sentence.
Breisa came down screeching out swears, using Jason as a tire swing. Not exactly strategic with her attack but managed a couple of sharp slashes with her Ax—throwing a kick into Sump.
The salsa case crashed into his chest and Sump flew backward, right into the base of Leo’s third machine. Sump may have been immune to getting hit with truck chassis, but he wasn’t immune to robotic arms that could deliver ten thousand pounds of force.
Leo spun the remote’s toggle, and the second robotic arm whacked Sump again.
The third crane arm slammed him against the floor so hard, he exploded into dust like a broken flour sack.
Two Cyclopes down.
Leo was beginning to feel like Commander Tool Belt—- when Ma Gasket glanced around, not even noticing Breisa, and locked her eye on him.
She grabbed the nearest crane arm and ripped it off its pedestal with a savage roar. “You busted my boys! Only I get to bust my boys!”
Leo punched a button, and the two remaining arms swung into action.
Ma Gasket caught the first one and tore it in half. The second arm smacked her in the head, but that only seemed to make her mad. She grabbed it by the clamps, ripped it free, and swung it like a baseball bat.
It missed Piper and Jason by a hair— luckily Breisa used all the force she could swing the three of them out of the way.
Then Ma Gasket let it go—spinning it toward Leo. He yelped and rolled to one side as it demolished the machine next to him.
Leo started to realize that an angry Cyclops mother was not something you wanted to fight with a universal remote and a screwdriver.
The future for Commander Tool Belt was not looking so hot.
She stood about twenty feet from him now, next to the cooking fire. Her fists were clenched, her teeth bared. She looked ridiculous in her chainmail muumuu and her greasy pigtails—but given the murderous glare in her huge red eye and the fact that she was twelve feet tall, Leo wasn’t laughing
“Any more tricks, demigod?” Ma Gasket demand with sneering.
Leo glanced up.
The engine block suspended on the chain—if only he’d had time to rig it. If only he could get Ma Gasket to take one step forward.
The chain itself ...that one link...Leo shouldn’t have been able to see it, especially from so far down, but his senses told him barely hanging on.
“Heck, yeah, I got tricks!” Leo raised his remote control. “Take one more step, and I’ll destroy you with fire!”
Ma Gasket laughed. “Would you? Cyclopes are immune to fire, you idiot. But if you wish to play with flames, let me help!”
She scooped red-hot coals into her bare hands and flung them at Leo. They landed all around his feet.
“You missed,” he said incredulously.
Then Ma Gasket grinned and picked up a barrel next to the truck.
Leo just had time to read the stenciled word on the side—kerosene—before Ma Gasket threw it.
The barrel split on the floor in front of him, spilling lighter fluid everywhere.
Coals sparked. Leo closed his eyes.
Piper and Breisa screamed.
 “No!”
“Look out!”
A firestorm erupted around him. When Leo opened his eyes he was bathed in flames swirling twenty feet into the air.
Ma Gasket shrieked with delight, but Leo didn’t offer the fire any good fuel. The kerosene burned off, dying down to small fiery patches on the floor.
Piper gasped. Breisa’s jaw dropped. “Leo?”
Ma Gasket looked astonished. “You live?” Then she took that extra step forward, which put her right where Leo wanted. “What are you?”
“The son of Hephaestus,” Leo said. “And I warned you, I’d destroy you with fire.”
He pointed one finger in the air and summoned all his will. He’d never tried to do anything so focused and intense—but he shot a bolt of white-hot flames at the chain suspending the engine block above the Cyclops’s head— aiming for the link that looked weaker than rest.
The flames died. Nothing happened. Ma Gasket laughed. “An impressive try, son of Hephaestus. It’s been many centuries since I saw a fire user. You’ll make a spicy appetizer!”
The chain snapped—that single link heated beyond its tolerance point— and the engine block fell, deadly and silent.
“I don’t think so,” Leo said.
Ma Gasket didn’t even have time to look up.
Smash! No more Cyclops; just a pile of dust under a five-ton engine block.
“Not immune to engines, huh?” Leo said. “Boo-yah!”
Then he fell to his knees, his head buzzing.
After a few minutes he felt someone grab his shoulders, pull him up, and shake him furiously.
“Gonna hurl.” He blurbed, his stomach feeling queasy.
“Don’t do something stupid like that again!” Breisa shouted. “You scared me!” She had stopped shaking him. Checking him for burns or mark— just something serious.
Only his clothes had small singed marks. Some irritated callous on his hands. He need to change the bandage from the canyon incident.
“You worried about lil ole me?” Leo grinned with a sideways smile.
“You’re an idiot.” She huffed, and let him go.
“Leo! Are you alright? Can you move?” Piper called from behind her. She was freed from her chains. Breisa’s doing definitely.
He stumbled to his feet. He’d never tried to summon such an intense fire before, and it had left him completely drained.
Then together they lowered Jason, who was still unconscious. Piper managed to trickle a little nectar into his mouth, and he groaned. The welt on his head started to shrink. His color came back a little.
“Yeah, he’s got a nice thick skull,” Leo said. “I think he’s gonna be fine.”
“He can’t lose anymore of his memory.” Breisa pulled back his eyelid, trying to see his pupils. They reacted well to the morning light. “He should be alright.”
“Thank god,” Piper sighed. Then she looked at Leo with something like fear. “How did you—the fire—have you always ... ?”
Leo looked down. Breisa suclkedp in a breath, waiting for an excuse or a denial or some kind of lie.
“Always,” he said instead. “I’m a freaking menace. Sorry, I should’ve told you guys sooner but—”
“Sorry?” Piper punched his arm. When he looked up, she was grinning. “That was amazing, Valdez! You saved our lives. What are you sorry about?”
Leo blinked. Then looked at Breisa in disbelief.
“She’s right, you know. You saved us.” She shrugged with a smile, “It was kind of awesome.”
“You saved us too.” Piper bumped her elbow. “Like mission impossible. Freaking amazing.”
Breisa blushed, above them a light bulb exploded. “Ah! Oh my bad! I didn’t know I could do that.”
Leo started to smile; but his sense of relief was ruined when he noticed something next to Piper’s foot.
Yellow dust—the powdered remains of one of the Cyclopes, maybe Torque—was shifting across the floor like an invisible wind was pushing it back together.
“They’re forming again,” Leo said. “Look.”
Piper stepped away from the dust. “That’s not possible. Annabeth told me monsters dissipate when they’re killed. They go back to Tartarus and can’t return for a long time.”
“Well, nobody told the dust that.” Breisa watched as it collected into a pile, then very slowly spread out, forming a shape with arms and legs.
“Oh, god.” Piper turned pale. “Boreas said something about this—the earth yielding up horrors. ‘When monsters no longer stay in Tartarus, and souls are no longer confined to Hades.’ How long do you think we have?”
Leo thought about the face that had formed in the ground outside—the sleeping woman who was definitely a horror from the earth.
“I don’t know,” he said. “But we need to get out of here.”

⚡️ DATING JASON GRACE
masterlist | rules
percy’s version | leo’s version | frank’s version | travis’ version | luke’s version
in which in a world of boys, he's a gentleman
pairing jason grace x fem!reader
warnings reader is implied to not be a child of the big three + a greek
When Taylor Swift said, “in a world of boys, he’s a gentleman,” she was talking about Jason. That whole song is just about Jason
This man is so respectful and considerate and just really wonderful. He feels too good to be true! Which is why you don’t let yourself fall for him at first. He’s literally the most perfect guy you’ve ever met
Meanwhile, Jason’s thinking the same about you. To him, you’re a breath of fresh air from all the rigidness and strict lines he’s been forced into not only as a Roman but as a son of Jupiter. Why would you want to be stuck with someone as boring as him?
So you just spent your days longingly gazing at each other when the other wasn’t looking while also avoiding each other in public spaces because both of you were slightly intimidated by the other’s gorgeous presence
Your first proper interaction must’ve been orchestrated by Hera and Aphrodite themselves considering how adamant you two were on being 6ft apart at all times, and surprisingly, it was in the mortal world
You were spending the day at your favourite library because you missed it and liked to pretend your life was normal by blending in with mortals, and also because you had studying you needed to do since quests left ample time for schoolwork
Jason was there because he’d been cooped up at camp for as long as he could remember and wanted to see what life away from the Gods and their schemes was like, and what better place to figure that out than a library?
You breathed a sigh of relief as you finally finished the essay you’d been working on since you arrived at the library. It had been weighing on your mind for days but you couldn’t find time for it until today. As a reward for your hard work, you decided to get yourself a sweet treat (me too girl) before continuing your studies
Haphazardly packing up your stuff, you quickly got up, practically drooling at the thought of the new menu item you were finally going to get after craving for weeks
You were a little too excited. As you turned, you bumped into someone, dropping some of your papers
“Gods, I’m so sorry,” the person you bumped into said, quickly bending down to gather all your stuff
You knew that voice. You could recognise it anywhere
“Jason? What’re you doing here?” You said, suddenly feeling awfully hot for no particular reason
That was the day you really befriended Jason Grace. He decided to accompany you to the cafe you planned to go to, paid for your order and spent the rest of the day there with you. Away from all the craziness of demigod life, you and Jason finally got to truly know each other
After a while of getting closer, you two begin to date, and it might just be the most beautiful relationship known to man. The way Jason acted before you began dating was nothing compared to now. That was just the bare minimum
You literally never have to lift a finger around him as he insists on doing everything for you. He opens doors for you, pulls your chairs out and takes your coats off for you. If you’re on a quest and you need to sleep, he makes sure you always get the comfier place and takes first watch
He also always leaves you notes. Sometimes they’re notes of motivation, sometimes they’re small poems about how much he loves you and sometimes they’re just really random
Jason is a big fan of taking polaroid pictures with you. After Hera stripped him of his whole life, he’s always had a fear of waking up one day with the same feeling he had on that wilderness school bus, so he takes pictures with all the people he loves and keeps journals and has a box full of all the things that are important to him in case it happens
He keeps one in his wallet at all times to ensure his immediate remembrance of you if his memories get taken again
(As if he’d forget you in the first place. Hera would have to pry the memories of you out of his cold, dead hands)
Your siblings love him so much too! They were a little stressed at first because he’s a child of Zeus, the God notorious for breaking the hearts of his lovers and cheating on his eternal wife, but he showed up at your cabin door to pick you up for a date with a bouquet of flowers for the cabin and then walked you back himself, staying outside until the very second the door was shut and now they love him LOL
Sometimes you think they love him more than you because they’re always asking about him
You spend a lot of time at his cabin. He disguises it as just really wanting to spend time with you and while that is true, secretly it's also because the Zeus cabin gets super cold and lonely and is also kind of scary at night, even though he sleeps in the one space away from the gaze of his father
“Honey,” Jason says, wrapping an arm around your waist. The campfire sing along had ended which signified the end of the day, and all around you, campers were wishing their friends goodnight as they headed to their cabins. You suppressed a giggle, knowing exactly what Jason wanted from the tone of his voice
You hummed, giving your boyfriend a bleary-eyed smile as you waited for him to voice his request. It was cute how even though you’d done this many times before, he still got shy at the idea of you two sleeping in the same room, on the same bed
“Would you maybe wanna spend the night at my cabin? I missed you today, and I can’t even begin to imagine how hot it must be in your cabin, with all your siblings in it, y’know.”
“Are you asking because you missed me or because you’re scared of daddy dearest?” You quipped, unable to contain yourself as his face turned bright red
“I’m kidding, Jase, of course I’ll spend the night with you!”
Later on in your relationship, when he’s sure you’re the one for life, he shows you around New Rome. He grew up with a peaceful life in the city being the goal, so it only made sense for him to show you around
Loves the way you light up at everything around you. He’d known New Rome for his whole life and could draw a map of it blind, but you make it feel brand new
Is ecstatic when you tell him you also want to start a life with him in New Rome. The moment you utter those words he’s already signed papers for an apartment and is drawing punnett squares to figure out what your kids would look like (I hate punnett squares they are the bane of my existence)
You know the part in The Notebook where the girl’s describing the house she wants? That’s what Jason showing u around New Rome reminds you of
Years later, you reminisce on the way you’d avoid each other as you tell your kids about your lives as teens in your lovely house in New Rome because he definitely did not die <3

𝜗𝜚 leo valdez
you were walking towards bunker nine, somehow managing to hold the two plates steady in your hand and also avoid tripping over all the plants on your way there.
leo had missed lunch...again
you were sure he'd starve to death and becoming a skeleton in that damn bunker if it weren't for you
as you approached the door, opening your mouth to scream out your presence you paused as you heard your name through the door
curiously, you peeked in through the small crack, making out leo and jason before turning your ear towards it to hear better
"...i'm telling you, she's the best thing that every happened to me."
melting already
"you're so sappy," jason teased
"if you felt what i felt, you'd be sappy too," leo replied and you could just picture the cheesy smile on his face
"am i in one of those terrible rom-com's piper makes us watch?" taunted jason
"you know what? probably. and i'm very lucky. grateful, even," leo laughed back, "to make her laugh, smile, have her close, it- i'll know i'll be okay because i've got her. i mean, how bad can it be if she's by my side?"
jason and leo both turned towards the door of the bunker as it creaked open, revealing the sniffling and crying girl leo had just been talking about, two sandwiches held in her hands
"hey, hey, what's wrong- wait, were you eavesdropping?" leo questioned as he moved towards her, taking the sandwiches out of her hands and setting them on his workbench, the girl instantly wrapping her arms around him
"maybe, but that's not the point-"
"kinda feels like the point to me-"
"no, the point is that you're so sweet, leo. what did i do to deserve you?" you all but sobbed against his chest, leo laughing lightly as he rubbed your shoulders.
"you know, i ask myself that every morning," hummed back leo, pressing his lips to her temple, "i mean, i'd definitely starve if it wasn't for you."
"hey, i'd make sure you didn't starve!" jason insisted, both of the couple sending him a questioning look
"and what did you have for lunch, superman?" you prompted and jason looked like a deer caught in headlights, "that's what i thought."
"i meant everything i said, you know," leo later told you, after jason had scampered off to get his own meal.
you looked up from your lunch, a smile twitching at your lips
"i know. and i'd say i'm pretty lucky too."
𝜗𝜚 frank zhang
you and frank had a little study date planned for today, meeting at the little bakery that you guys frequented at new rome
the owners knew you and frank by name, a cute little polaroid of you guys framed behind the cash register
you're class ran long, the professor leaving the q&a open for far too long
you felt bad but knew frank wouldn't mind ordering for you and waiting a bit
your sweet boy
you walked in one of the side doors of the bakery, as it was the first one you ran into
you were beginning to make your way towards your regular table, only stopping because you hear what you knew to be frank's bashful laugh
"come on, can't tell me your favorite thing about her?" the owner prompted with a wide smile and you heard frank's laugh again, just picturing his blazing face
"there's too many. we'd be here all week," frank replied, easily, and you felt that warm and gushy feeling frank always leaves you with
"but you have to have a favorite of all favorites though," insisted the owner and there was a pause from frank, both you and the owner waiting with baited breath
"okay okay. when she thinks i'm not looking, she just looks at me with- with this smile. and i can't describe it but it's my favorite. it's just a look and a smile, but it means the world to me," admitted frank, the owner cooing and her body sagging at his sweet words
you were having a similar reaction, off to the side of the restaurant, a hand held to your chest.
"goodness, you two are just too cute. ugh, my husband and i used to be just like you, all lovesick and gross," the owner mused as you finally announced your presence, pretending to have just shown up.
though, frank could tell something was up based on the kiss you gave his cheek, the boy instantly looking down at you with a raised brow
you just wrinkled your nose at him, grabbing your coffee and baked goods and taking your basically assigned seats outside the cafe
"you know, i just love it when you come up behind me and just give me those massive bear hugs for no reason. it feels good- like, cozy and like home," you stated, seemingly, unprompted
but frank caught on quick, shaking his head and smiling at the girl
"how much of that did you hear?"
"more than enough, sweet boy."
"never gonna live it down?"
"oh, certainly not."
𝜗𝜚 luke castellan
"come on, percy, you can do better than that," luke barked at the boy with a laugh, percy heaving on the ground of the training arena
"you suck."
"are you talking to yourself or...?" asks luke with a smirk, causing percy to squint a glare at him
"i'll call for y/n and tell her youre being mean to me," threatened percy, completely unaware that you had already shown up with water for the both of them, taking a seat in the bleachers and waiting for one of them to notice you
"if you think she'll be on your side, you're wrong," luke laughed, helping percy off the ground.
(without meaning to, he'd later repeat this phrase word for word when revealing to percy that he was the lightening thief and kronos right hand man. percy would mention you and this would be luke's response. he would end up being wrong)
"of course she'll be on my side, look at this face," joked percy, exhaustedly swishing a hand towards his own face.
"ha! you're funnier than i give you credit for," luke mocks and percy huffs
"i don't know why that sweet girl is with your mean ass."
"you know, i ask myself that at least twice a day but...it's good that we're together. for both of us," answers luke, turning more serious as he shrugs his shoulders.
you're intrigued now, leaning forwards with interest
"how so?" percy prompts
"well...she makes me want to be a better person. i want to be the best guy for her, it's what she deserves. and she needs me to let loose a little, have some fun and break a few rules," luke reveals, his eyes catching on movement towards the entrance of the arena and a smile gracing his lips
"speaking of the little devil," he laughs, the girl peeking around the corner with a wide smile
"that's not what you were saying about me two seconds," you mock, passing a water bottle off to percy, who took it eagerly, before hold luke's out to him
"hmm. i don't know what your talking about," luke taunts with a twisted smile and you just shake your head at him.
"okay, mr. trouble, i gotta get going. but...i'm glad i have you too," you muttered, leaning up and pressing a kiss to where his scar ended on his cheek
he hid his blush well, pressing a kiss to her forehead when she went to pull away
"i'll see you later, hun?"
"obviously. also, percy, he twisted his ankle last week during capture the flag. just so you know," the girl winked, smiling cheekily at luke's paling face before scampering out of the arena.
(she'd later spill a similar secret to percy in the middle of manhattan-turned-warzone, giving percy key information on luke to help him win. she'll live with the guilt forever, unsure if it's survivors or not)
"you're a snitch!" luke called after the girl, her laughs being the only response he got.
𝜗𝜚 percy jackson
"are you sure they don't need help?" you asked percy's step father, paul, with a giggle as you two heard a clatter from the kitchen.
"knowing them, they're probably making the most extravagant pizza on the planet. one of us should probably check on them to make sure they don't blow the apartment up," paul hummed in agreement, nodding you towards the kitchen
"knowing percy, i wouldn't be surpirsed," you wink and paul laughs as you leave the living room, steadily making your way towards the kitchen
something told you to wait by the door for a bit, so you do, biting down a smile as you listen to percy and his mom.
"wait, wait, we're we supposed to preheat the oven??" percy asked and you could just feel the dead stare sally gave him
"yes, percy. i thought that was obvious."
"what if we just crank the heat super super high up-"
"no. immediately no."
"fineeeeee," percy droned, but you could hear the smile in his voice.
"so...y/n's sweet," sally started and you blushed, knowing that percy valued his mom's opinion above all else
"yeah. she's the best. oh, you should see her when she's doing something she really enjoys. her face get's all wrinkly cause she's scrunching it up but her smile is so bright, mom. and right before she's about to fall alseep, she always manages to snuggle closer to you and she twitches her nose twice before falling asleep. always twice, no more no less," percy started ranting, borderline unprompted.
your smile was impossibly large
"you seem to really like her," sally managed to get in
"i...i think i love her, mom. i don't see myself doing it with anybody else."
"doing what?"
"life."
now you were crying, huge fat tears rolling down your cheeks. but still smiling, always smiling because of that boy.
not wanting to ruin the moment, you head back to the living room, paul looking up at you slightly worried.
"they're okay."
"are you?" he whispers and you beam at him.
"better than ever. i'm a very lucky girl."
"i know that feeling," paul winks, "those jacksons, huh?"
"tell me about it."
𝜗𝜚 jason grace
"that your girl?" you hear a guy ask jason, surely nodding over at you standing in line for the pizza
jason promised you a day of just roaming new rome (im funny as shit yall) and you guys were just stopping for lunch
"yeah," jason replied with a smile, his eyes catching yours for a second before you looked away, not wanting to give away that you were listening.
"figured. you've got that lovey dovey look on your face," the guy laughs and jason laughs with him.
"well, that tends to happen when you're in love," responds jason, like this wasn't a monumental statement to make
"i gotta ask, what's it feel like? so i can know when the right girl comes around," the guy questions, suddenly serious and nearly desperate for an answer
jason's face screws up in the way that tells you he's thinking intensely about it.
"when you know, you'll know. i can't- there's this weight on my chest when i'm with her, it's heavy and suffocating but it's just how much i love her. it's all the things i would do for her, to keep her safe and to keep her happy. my soul knew she was the one from the moment we met, my mind's just playing catch up," jason rambled, the guy completely entrapped in his words.
"jesus," he muttered and jason winced, the roman demigod in him urging to correct him but swallowing it down.
"sounds like hell," the guy mutters after a few seconds and jason smirks
"oh, it is. my wallet's never been lighter and my sweaters have never disappeared at a more rapid rate. but, to have and to hold her in return? makes it all worth it."
"jase, baby, you want the one with feta, right?" you call to him from line, a proud smile on your face and what jason could have sworn were tears in your eyes
"yeah, that's good!" he called back, silently asking if you were alright with his eyes.
you wave him off and wipe at your cheeks, a totally completely unrelated thing.
you take the two flimsy paper plates and walk back to jason, mimicking a trumpet as you present his to him
he laughs, taking it from your hand and wrapping an arm around your waist, leading you away and down the street before pausing, looking down at you with a small smile
"you heard every word, didn't you?"
"i don't know what your talking about...but on an unrelated note, i think we should get married."
"right now?"
"why wait? i think my mind's catching up to my soul, don't you?"

hello! can you do the jason grace version of the ribbon trend? thank u! 🤍
jason grace x daughter of aphrodite!reader summary: you do the bow trend with your boyfriend wc: 403
Tumblr media
It was common knowledge that your boyfriend, Jason Grace, was hot as hell. Your sisters knew it, and you sure as hell knew it, so when you saw the trend on TikTok where girls would tie a ribbon on their boyfriend's bicep, you knew that you had to participate. You also knew that your boyfriend was more than likely not going to want to do this, so you came up with a plan.
One sunny afternoon, you were cuddled up with Jason in his cabin. There was a romcom on in the background, but you and Jason were too focused on each other to pay attention.
"Hey, Jase. If I asked you to do a TikTok trend with me, would you do it?" You asked him.
"Well, I guess it would depend. As long as it's not dancing, I think I would," he replies and continues kissing your neck.
You run your hands through his soft blond hair, "okay, then would you please please let me tie a pink ribbon on your arm? All you have to do is flex your arm to rip it!"
He removes himself from your neck and gives you a pained look, "well, I don't know.."
"Please, baby, I'll do anything, I'm serious. Anything," you plead.
He knows you probably weren't insinuating anything when you said it, but he felt his face get hot.
"Alright, fine. Put the bow on my arm then," he says, fighting a smile.
You were hoping he would say yes, so you already had a bow in your pocket, and you made quick work of tying it around his large bicep. Even without flexing, he almost broke the ribbon.
You grabbed your phone out of your pocket and started recording on TikTok, when he flexed his arm, your cheeks felt like they were on fire, and you could tell he noticed by the way he grinned up at you.
After you posted the video, you got back onto the bed and cuddled up with him.
"So, you like my biceps, huh?" He teased.
"Shut up, the only reason you even let me do the video was because I promised to do anything," you flirted.
His cheeks turned pink and he went to do what you thought was hiding his face, but were surprised when he started kissing your neck, then up to your jaw, before giving you a long kiss on your lips.

a/n: this was so cute but pls lmk if i got his character right...i had to reference my irl pjo bestie for this i love this boy
wc: 766
Jason Grace thinks you talk too much.
And too fast. It’s one of the first things he noticed about Camp Half-Blood weirdly enough, besides the nagging feeling that he didn’t belong there. There wasn’t so much as a day where he wouldn’t see you whizzing past campers offering to tinker items to make their lives easier, and he could barely keep up—which says a lot for a boy raised to be a soldier.
It was like you set everything alight, and the flames you left in your midst could not be tamed; everyone was enamored by you, and admittedly, so was he. The son of Jupiter was sure his brain had short-circuited along with everything else going on but all of his worries were dashed when you presented him with a wristwatch shield.
Jason blinks slowly.
“Are you listening? Do you like it? I can change the finish on it or scrap it completely if you don’t think it’s cool, or maybe it's too big? Let me see your wrist—Jace?”
You wave your hand in his face before grabbing his arm, encircling his wrist with the metal links to make sure your creation fits him comfortably.
Too torn between the predicament of being raised by fucking wolves and training for a war that no one knows the start date of, Jason Grace has not had too much time to acquaint himself with the matters of the heart. So in his eyes, this poor sweetheart thought your welcome gift was the equivalent of a marriage proposal, or something like that…
Your half-sibling Leo thought this was hilarious of course, his teasing grin stoking the fire in the pit of Jason’s stomach when he asked to see it. The blond boy was gentle with your gift, shaking his head at the notion that it meant anything, that you were just kind to everyone, and nothing about it whatsoever makes him special.
Okay buddy…
So of course when you came to confront him about Leo’s taunting that had reached all of the inhabitants of cabin 9 (and the armory, and the counselors, and even Chiron and Mr. D—the biggest gossips of Camp Half-Blood), Jason Grace, a boy who usually has his shit together, was reduced to the phenomenon of being an embarrassed teenager with a crush.
You were standing a little too close for his liking and even if he towered over you, the blaze in your eyes could incite fear in the gods.
“Just because I'm nice and do things for you doesn’t mean that I like you, Jason Grace,” you say adamantly as you cross your arms over your chest. He notices the smudge of soot on your cheekbone, and thinks it looks quite pretty against your complexion.
“Of course.”
“I gave you the wristwatch shield as a welcome gift,” you say next, to which he nods since it’s a fact.
“Of course, I didn’t mea—”
“I mean you’re always protecting others, so I thought someone should protect you for a change,” you mutter, watching him scratch the nape of his neck as your smile spreads like gasoline touched by a lit match. He can’t help but embrace the burn (His serious demeanor is broken by the smile on his face, so big that it almost hurts).
“But you are right, I do like you. Suppose we’ll have to do something about that.”
Thinking hard about the confession that left your mouth, you look like you’re working through a methodical problem to solve— finding the missing piece to a puzzle instead of making the son of Jupiter's face heat up like a thousand suns. He reckons there’s an ambush inside of him as something starts to work harder than usual, not his brain overridden by battle tactics and that of survival— but his heart, beating fast like a well oiled machine (and more importantly like a normal teenage boy).
Jason reaches out to rub the soot away from your cheek, but when you pull him in by the collar of his shirt to kiss him, he finds himself to be stained by you all the same.

Apollo!Fem!reader x Jason Grace
Summary: You can’t help but admire Jason. Not knowing he’s doing the same.
Contains: fluff. Characters might seem a bit ooc.
A/N: I noticed the lack of Jason fics so hope you all enjoy this one. I had such fun writing it. Feedback is always welcomed and reqs are open <3
Word count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
His skin seemed to glow perfectly, his eyes sparkled with the sun. His perfect silky blonde hair was a bit messy, like he had just woken up. Gods, it was flawless, like gold. His slightly tilted glasses made him look cuter than when he didn't have them on. If you didn't know any better, you would say you're enamored, captivated, charmed, enchan…
“Stop staring, you're drooling,” Will said, pointing towards the corner of his lip and casually continuing to eat his breakfast. You brought your finger towards your lip to confirm. How embarrassing, you thought. “I wasn't staring. I don't know what I could ever be staring at,'' you defended, avoiding Will's gaze. Suddenly, your plate was really interesting as you fiddled around with some pancakes. Smooth, gaslight your brother into thinking he's the crazy one.
“Sure lover girl, let's pretend you weren't ogling at Mr. Sparky over there,” Will just knew how to push your buttons. Both of you being top healers meant you knew each other better than the rest of your siblings. Sadly, that also meant he knew your weaknesses all too well like a certain blonde he kept talking about.
“He's way out of my league” you rebutted. You didn't give yourself enough credit. Most would assume you were a daughter of Aphrodite if it weren't for the distinct freckles and soft glow that every Apollo kid seems to have.
“Yeah well, he likes you back. you guys just need to be a little less shy” he stated as if it were a fact. But it wasn't, well, at least not for you. Jason was just too handsome. Sure, the Aphrodite boys were too, and so were some of the Hermes boys, but Jason was just different in your eyes. It wasn't only about looks; it was his caring personality and how nice he could be. Not that it was a surprise, but considering he is the son of Jupiter you would have thought he would be a little more conceited.
”You know, you keep saying that, but I don't see it. Plus I can't think of crushes right now; we have to prepare the infirmary.” both you and Will know that deep down, you wanted to believe that Jason liked you back but were always ‘too busy’ to talk about your feelings.
Especially on capture the flag days, You weren't one to participate; fighting isn't your thing. You were half decent with a bow but just awful at playing, landing you with the amazing job of nursing everyone back to health. You would think people knew better than to slash each other to almost death, knowing that their desert privilege was on the line. But that never seemed to stop anyone from creating more work for the Apollo cabin.
You sighed as you prepared some of the beds in the infirmary, having gauzes and ambrosia ready at your disposal. Singing softly as you worked, maybe you weren't blessed with amazing archery skills or astonishing arts abilities, but you had other skills in your favor. Like your voice and talent with the lyre. Most of the camp would agree that you were the best singer from the Apollo cabin, often leading the sing-alongs at the campfires or just singing sweet children's songs to the little ones at camp.
Caught up in your singing and folding of sheets, you didn't hear the conch being blown or the screaming campers celebrating their victory or announcing their complaints over losing. So, to say you almost had a heart attack when you heard a soft voice call your name was truly an understatement.
“Gods Austin you scared me,” you said, looking at your brother as he smiled softly, “Sorry you just have a patient ready for you, doc,” he said, smirking slightly as he was up to something. “I'll attend some; tell Will to take care of the rest” You turned around, not looking at your now creepily smiling brother. You started putting a little tray on one of the beds . Austin continued talking, “Oh but there is this camper who has specially requested for you,” he said as he dragged said camper towards you. “Okay well bring them up; i don't have time to attend everybody,” your voice started to faint as you looked up towards this oh so special camper that requested you.
“I can come back at another time if you're too busy,” he said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head with rosy cheeks, he was embarrassed. But now you sported matching red cheeks as you looked at him intensely in awe of his presence. “No, you fine Jason please sit” you gestured towards the bed. “I got nicked with a sword; it's not that bad” he explained, tilting his head, his voice was ringing in your ears like a charm.
“Can i touch your face” you mumbled as you began to study the small gash he had from afar. “Sure,” Jason stuttered a bit, his face getting a little bit redder. You softly touched his jaw, further inspecting his injury. “Well, it's not deep enough for ambrosia or nectar, but it's still kind of deep,” you stated grabbing a cotton ball with a pair of tweezers “I’m just going to clean it up and heal it ,” you said, your voice shaking a bit. Jason could only muster a hum as you placed a tiny amount of alcohol into his wound. He winced at the sting, but it didn't seem to bother him that much, especially with how gently you touched his face.
Both of you fell into an uncomfortable silence, not knowing what to say, faces a bit too close to each other, entering in panic mode. Yet Jason built up enough courage as he whispered a faint “Your voice is so beautiful.” You couldn't help but look into his blue eyes, eternally getting lost in those precious sky-blue irises. Your faces got closer slowly, instinctively, as if it was the only way to respond. Trying to wrap your head around the boy's words truly left you speechless. But life decided to ruin this perfect moment as you heard someone speak.
“I need some help with some Ares kids,” Will said standing there, clearly seeing he had interrupted something. “Right,” you responded brushing off nonexistent dust from your camp shirt and looking back at Jason. “Your wound should feel better now, let me know if it doesn't,” you said, all giddy at the thought of him coming back. He just nodded shyly, trying to say anything as you walked closer to Will but ultimately stayed silent.
“Your voice is so beautiful, marry me Y/N” mocked Will as both of you walked towards the other side of the infirmary, punching his stomach, “Shut up” you whispered. Gods, Jason Grace might just be the death of you.

hi! hope you're well!
could you please do one where jason breaks up with Piper because he realises he's in love with reader since he was little?
like reader and jason are the bestest friends with mutual crushes but were too oblivious to do anything about it and the seven have to drop the fact that reader likes him back?
Thanks
heya! I combined this ask with someone who was asking for a Jason x reader songfic with the song Bad Idea Right? by Olivia Rodrigo <3
Tumblr media
Romeo and Julieting---Jason Grace x reader [soundtrack: Olivia Rodrigo]

“It’s a bad idea, Pipes!”
Piper pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. “You are going to go to their cabin, you are going to make them sit down, and you are going to tell them that you have a crush on them, okay? And then you can both have a cutesy little romantic moment or whatever you're supposed to do in a relationship, okay?”
“What do you mean, ‘whatever you’re supposed to do in a relationship’?” Jason asked with a confused frown. He glanced up at Piper who was pacing back and forth as he sat cross legged on her bed, picking at her Olivia rodrigo doona cover. “We were in a relationship, like, five minutes ago.”
Piper cocked her head at him with a raised eyebrow, “that didn’t count and you know it, now go kiss them!”
“Not with tongue though,” Leo added, slurping a juice box as he spun in circles on the chair by Piper’s desk. “At least not the first time, it’d be a bit over the top. I mean unless you’re into that I guess-”
“What are you even doing here?” Jason asked him, not unkindly.
Leo smirked and then became distracted by the make up box on Piper’s desk, pulling out a dark lipstick and uncapping it with wide eyes. He turned back to Jason, “oh I’m watching you fail at both of your relationships.”
Jason frowned, “I just got dumped, why are you making fun of me?”
Leo twisted the base of the lipstick and then proceeded to lick it. He screwed up his face and put it away quickly. “You two forgot you were dating for an entire week, I had to remind you when you started drooling over a certain demigod that you already had a girlfriend.”
“Okay, that’s fair,” Jason muttered. Piper chuckled and moved her things away from Leo’s curious grabby hands, quickly taking her eyeliner off before he tried to taste test that as well. “But… but I can’t just walk up to them and be like, ‘hey, you’re my best friend, wanna kiss?’”
Leo blinked. “Why not?”
Jason wasn’t sure how his friend was still alive, but then he remembered that Leo had died already anyway. Piper shrugged, “don’t blame him, he doesn’t know how romance or social situations work.”
“Hey!” Leo hissed, pointing at her with a contour brush he’d managed to find, “that’s homophobic!”
“How can I be homophobic?” Piper screeched, pointing to the rainbow flag pinned up lopsidedly above her bed, next to the hello kitty poster and the giant banner that read ‘i fucked your mum and all i got was this stupid flag’.
Leo just stuck his tongue out at her. Then he turned to Jason. “If you don’t go romeo and juliet your way into a make out session, I will personally turn your stash of musk sticks into soot.”
Piper fiddled with her portable speaker, connecting it to the demigod proof phones Leo had managed to whip up in under three days after he discovered the Pokemon Go map reached CHB. “
“What do you mean Romeo and Juliet?” Jason asked.
“You gotta go up to their window and pretend it’s a balcony, Grace,” Piper said. SHe looked away from Olivia Rodrigo’s spotify and to the window. “It’s even raining outside. Perfect.”
Jason crossed his arms stubbornly, “I can think of a million ways it could go wrong.”
“Well I can’t,” Leo said as he started curling his eyelashes. The speaker next to him skipped a few beats and staticked it’ way through the music for a moment. Piper grinned.
“It’s a bad idea! I’m not doing it!”
Seein' you tonight, it's a bad idea, right?

Jason sucked in a breath and shut the Aphrodite cabin door behind him, hitching up his checked purple pajama pants and plodding through the dirt between the cabins lined up.
Seein' you tonight, it's a bad idea, right?
Even if he didn’t work up the courage to tell you how pretty he thought your eyes were when you smiled and how endearing it was that you wrapped and arm around his shoulders every time you were walking together and how that thing you did with your tongue on your lip drove him crazy, he’d still get to see you. So technically he was just visiting his best friend, what was wrong with that?
Seein' you tonight, it's a bad idea, right?
Maybe the fact that if said best friend asked to kiss him Jason wouldn’t even hesitate.
Seein' you tonight, it's a bad idea, right?

You pulled your curtains shut and waited for your younger siblings to finish putting all of their teddies to bed before the lamps were clicked off. After a few minutes, only the snores of your cabin mates and the rain on the roof were audible.
Hypnos dragged away everyone else in your cabin quickly, but you lay awake staring at the roof, your doona pulled up to your chin. A few polaroids were stuck to the walls next to your head, and the axolotl Squishmellow Leo had bought you for your birthday was in bed with you. You hugged it to your chest and shuffled around, trying to get to sleep.
You ignored the first tap at your window, which was probably just a Harpy checking everyone was tucked into their beds and not planning to sneak out.
The second one however, roused you from the warmth of the blanket Annabeth had crocheted as she discovered her skills with weaving. You paused in front of the window, sitting cross legged on your pillow. Whoever it was outside tapped again, so you pulled back the curtains and peeked out with narrowed eyes.
A grin spread across your face before you could help it, and you heaved the frame up, poking your head out into the night to whisper shout. “What are you doing dude? It’s pouring!”
Jason blinked up at you with soggy hair and muddy pajamas. He plodded through the puddles up to your window. Luckily he was tall enough that you were eye level when he hopped onto a little boulder. “Um…”
“Gimme a second,” you muttered, and crawled out of bed to the shoe rack by the door. Avoiding the floorboards you knew would creak, you hopped back into bed and slid the pink spotty umbrella through the window, opening it up above Jason.
He smiled, the scar on his lip twisting. You restrained yourself from reaching out to touch it and instead held the umbrella for him. “Is there a reason you’re Romeo and Julieting?”
Jason eyes were wide and pale blue, like the sky behind a thin veil of clouds. “How am i the only one who- never mind. Uhm… I need to tell you something.
The rain made it hard for you to hear whatever your best friend was muttering, so you beckoned him closer with a confused smile, “yeah? Did you forget how to use the toaster again? Because honestly I don’t know why you’re opposed to Leo just-”
“Because of hygiene, for one,” Jason started, “but that’s not why I’m here.”
You gave him a second to think, not used to the genuinely fearful look on his face dripping with rain you hoped wouldn’t turn to tears. You didn’t really know where this was going.
He took a deep breath, his fingers curling around your window sill. “If this goes wrong, please blame Leo and Piper.”
“I could blame them for anything, and I’d be right.”
Jason ducked his head and spoke to the ground. “I kind of… really like you. I’ve liked you for a long time, actually. I didn’t realize for a while, but it’s sort of…Yeah. It’s you.”
So it wouldn’t be Jason crying, you realized. It would be you.
You took a second to try that deep breathing thing someone had told you about, and smoothed out the front of your mickey mouse pajama shirt, blinking rapidly. The reality hadn’t really set it, you were in a sort of shocked state, so you tried to talk before you burst into tears.
“Uhm,” you said weakly. “I think you might’ve forgotten about your girlfriend again, Jase.”
He went pale. Then he started shaking his head like a wet dog, which he sort of was, really. “No, no not like that. I mean, yeah I like you like that, wait- okay. Piper broke up with me, like five minutes ago, and-”
You took another deep breath and then handed Jason the umbrella. He took it with a lost expression, and you shut your window quickly, breaths turning as shaky as your hands. You were your childhood crushes rebound. You sort of wished you hadn’t opened that window, actually.
Jason tapped again, a lot quicker this time, and urgent.
Ignoring him was the obvious choice, but that felt too kind. You yanked open the curtains again and then the glass, sticking your head out with a sharp glare. “I will not be your rebound-”
“She broke up with me because of you.” Jason blurted as soon as he realized you could hear him.
He paused then, and you took in the holy depressing sight that was Jason Grace in dirty pajamas standing outside your window in the middle of the night, rain and tears dripping down his cheeks. “Well, not completely. We never really liked each other, it was all because of Hera, really. We just, well… neither of us could be bothered to figure out our feelings so we stayed together.”
Jason looked down at the ugg boots covered in grass and soil he was wearing. You were pretty sure they were Drew’s. “Apparently she got sick of me pining over you, so she dumped me so that they could make me come here and well, yeah, tell you.”
You blinked in shock for probably too long.
“I don’t wanna make you do anything, and you don't have to say anything, ever, actually.” Jason said quickly, with only honesty on his cute face. “You don’t have to keep being my friend, if you don’t want to, but I won't be weird, I promise. We can pretend this didn’t actually happen. I just sort of wanted to tell you, so I didn't have to hide it forever, I guess.”
“They?” You asked.
Jason glared in the direction of the Aphrodite cabin. He spoke in a hollow voice. “It was an ambush. There were no survivors.”
You grinned, and then reached out into the pouring rain and held the umbrella, your hand over his. Jason whipped around with red cheeks and a frozen expression. “Uh-”
“Jason,” you began softly. “Did you want to Romeo and Juliet me?”
He blinked.
“That means come here so I can kiss you,” You muttered, and dragged the son of Jupiter closer by the front of his shirt. Jason’s eyes widened and he made a shocked little sound.
He hopped back onto the boulder and reached up to your window sill though. His eyes were that bit lower than your own in that way you knew exactly what he was thinking and of course you’d oblige.
“Just c’mere,” you whispered, trying to hold in your smile. Jason leant forward eagerly, and you held the umbrella in one hand tightly, the other sliding up to cup his jaw. You’d wondered what the scar on Jason’s lip felt like.
Turned out it was just as soft as the rest of him.
You tilted your head as heat seemed to build in your veins, making your head light. You couldn’t help but pull him closer, if that was even possible, and kissed him firmly. He made another odd sound and opened his mouth slowly.
From what you’d heard from your older siblings, kissing was awesome. You’d always thought it sounded a bit gross though, I mean, someone elses mouth? Their tongue?
This badly timed badly worded fucking adorbale boy in front of you proved that theory wrong. Jason threaded his fingers through your own and you leaned further out the window, drawing him back in and pressing your mouth deeper into his own, lungs burning.
“Oh my gods,” Jason croaked, opening his eyes a little when you finally pulled away, gasping for air and trying to straighten out your thoughts.
“Oh my gods,” you agreed, slipping your hand around the back of his neck and holding him close, fingers fiddling with the baby hairs there. Jason grinned, his cheeks as red as his lips.
“Oh my gods! Go Jason!”
You both turned to see Piper and Leo cheering from behind another cabin, holding a barbie umbrella between them.
Jason blinked at them, and then turned to you, “I told you, it was an ambush.”
