The air hung thick with the aroma of spilled champagne and desperation. Jessica Rabbit, her crimson dress clinging to her curves like a second skin, stood alone on the opulent balcony overlooking the teeming casino floor. Diamonds glittered around her neck, a mocking reminder of the gilded cage she called life.

Tonight's Roger Rabbit Club soiree was in full swing. Toon gangsters mingled with socialites, their laughter laced with an undercurrent of tension. Jessica watched them, a bitter smile twisting her ruby red lips. Just a few days ago, she'd believed in the glamour of it all. Now, disillusionment clung to her like a suffocating fog.

The truth had arrived in a crumpled note, delivered by a nervous-looking waiter. It was a blackmail threat, scrawled in spidery handwriting, accusing Roger of involvement in a shady land deal that threatened to displace an entire toon neighborhood. The note mentioned debts owed, whispers of a mysterious third party known only as "The Ink Blot," and a chilling ultimatum – Roger Rabbit would disappear, replaced by a fraudulent look-alike, unless he relinquished a substantial chunk of the club's profits.

Jessica hadn't confronted Roger directly. The man, perpetually harried and sweating under his green fur, was a master of deflection, adept at weaving webs of denial. Besides, fear gnawed at her. This wasn't a mere spat between rival clubs. This reeked of a deeper darkness, a sinister plot that threatened their very existence.

A deep voice, laced with a hint of sleaze, broke her reverie. It was Marvin Acme, the portly owner of Toon Town, his eyes leering at her like a hungry wolf. He sidled up to her, his cologne a sickly concoction of power and desperation.

"Looking radiant tonight, Jessica," he purred, his voice dripping with a false sincerity. "Like a rose in full bloom."

Jessica offered him a tight smile, her eyes devoid of warmth. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Marvin."

Acme chuckled, the sound like a dying walrus. "Perhaps not," he conceded, "but perhaps honesty will. Have you heard the rumors swirling around Roger?"

Hi Katy! I am sure you get asked this a lot. Yet, I wanted to ask has your style of coloring manga pages changed over the years? Has there been any new techniques or tricks you've picked up over the years? From time to time, I check your blog to see if you have colored any new manga pages and I've seen the great progress you've made over the years. Also, is there any special kind of paper (matte, glossy, etc.) you use to print the pages and are there plans for a new manga coloring tutorial? Thx!

It's hard for me to describe my methods with words, but the good news is that I just bought a cellphone tripod. I think it would be a lot of fun to do a manga coloring timelapse! It might take a while to get out because I'm very inexperienced with making videos, but I'm excited to try!

Also, regarding paper- I literally just use plain printer paper, lol. I've found that using glossy/fancy paper causes the ink to smudge when I color it.

The flickering neon sign outside the Inkwell Lounge cast an unsettling crimson glow on Jessica Rabbit's ruby red lips as she sashayed through the doorway. The air hung heavy with the scent of stale smoke and cheap perfume, a symphony of discordant jazz notes pulsing from the dimly lit stage.

Tonight wasn't about dazzling audiences with her sultry vocals or mesmerizing looks. Jessica was on a mission – a mission shrouded in shadow and whispered threats. Eddie, her beloved Roger, had vanished two nights ago, swallowed whole by this very city's underbelly.

The whispers spoke of a man called The Ink Demon, a shadowy figure who dealt in secrets kept colder than a forgotten cocktail. He was said to reside in this very establishment, a phantom who pulled strings from his velvet-lined booth in the back.

Jessica, her scarlet dress shimmering like a siren's call, navigated the smoke-filled maze of the club, her crimson pumps clicking on the sticky floor. Every eye in the room followed her, a mix of admiration and fear. But Jessica, her gaze steely with resolve, ignored them, her heart a drumbeat against her ribs.

Reaching the back, she spotted a figure cloaked in darkness. A single shaft of light fell across the man's fedora, glinting off a silver dollar emblem pinned to its brim. This was The Ink Demon.

Jessica, her voice a smoky contralto, cut through the club's cacophony. "The Ink Demon? I presume."

The figure shifted, revealing a gaunt face etched with wrinkles like a forgotten map. Two piercing black eyes, like chips of obsidian, locked onto Jessica. His voice, a gravelly rasp, echoed from beneath the fedora's brim.

"Dollface. I was expecting someone a little less…eye-catching."

"Where's Roger?" Jessica demanded, her voice laced with ice despite the tremor in her perfectly manicured hand clutching her purse.

The Ink Demon chuckled, a sound like dry leaves rustling in a graveyard. "Ah, Roger Rabbit. A curious case. Seems he got mixed up in a little business deal that went south."
