I hope you don’t mind if i add my two cents. I read this ask and realized that we as human beings really have a problem seeing these idols as actual human beings who have layers and complicated feelings.

This non shipper anon mentioned that Jikook stopped being as close around 2021 but that is definitely not true. First of all, many shippers especially taekookers feel like there was a sudden uptick in jikook moments around a certain time (2017) but that is not true at all. Go back and watch content from the very beginning and pay attention to the boys talk on Lives, during festas and other moments and you discover that Jk and Jimin had always been very close. Jimin was the one who Jk spoke to when he got back from the US and contemplated abandoning his dream to become an idol and go for dancing instead.

In a log they did in 2013, we had Jimin and Jungkook telling us that the two of them were in the habit of putting blankets and sleeping together on the floor outside their rooms. The very first bangtan bomb that was ever posted was a of Jk taking videos of Jimin back in 2013. During Festa 2014, we heard from the members that Jk usually piled clothes on his bed to go sleep in Jimin’s bed and even back then, when Jk was asked which hyung comforted him the most, he said it was Jimin. Fast forward to 2015 when Tae did a Live from Japan in the hotel room that he shared with Jimin and mentioned that Jimin and Jk were together even though the 3 of them had planned to do a Live together or in 2016 where Jimin was the first member Jk ever gave a birthday gift to. I am listing some of these moments chronologically just to show u that Jimin and Jungkook had always been close, very close infact it’s just that jikook as a ship gained excess popularity in 2017 after Jungkook posted GCF in Tokyo. So it’s not really that there became an uptick in Jikook moments from there, it is that people started paying more attention to Jikook after Jungkook’s GCF. The best way to see some if these things is to watch Vlives and bangtan bombs from pre 2017 era and you will see what i am saying.

As i mentioned before, non shipper anon said Jikook used to be close till like 2021 and mentioned that their last sighting outside of work was around march 2022 but that’s not true at all. Remember that in PTD Vegas Jikook were joined at the hip, they left the concert venue together on all 4 days of the concert and one of those days, they went out to eat with Yoongi and staff and some non shipper Armys visited the restaurant they went to in Vegas and said they were told that Jikook sat together on one table and yoongi sat on another with staff. Plus Jimin and Jk still boxed together with Tommy Saem (Jk’s boxing coach) and based on that April 2022 Live with Vminkookkhope, jikook were even on a diet together. So many times people forget to facture in the point that Jimin started working on his album in May. Immediately after PTD in Vegas Jimin moved in with Pdogg to work on his album because he literally had nothing prepared so i can imagine that during that period, Jk and Jimin didn’t spend as much time together because Jimin was busy and i also noticed that Taekook seemed to get really closer during that period. Infact we all saw taekook hang out outside of work more frequently by the end of 2022 and part of 2023 than we had seen in all their 10 years of being BTS. Like anon said, jikook were the ones always together everywhere both in and outside of work. Even in 2021 while they were in LA, we found out that Jikook worked out together everyday, came back from concerts together, ate together and untop of that, Jk spent alot of time in Jimin’s room hanging out with him. So i feel like the distance we sensed between jikook starting 2022 was mainly because of how busy Jimin got. It tracks.

I am not someone who really believes that any of the members are dating each other but i know that Jimin and Jungkook have and have always had an extremely close bond since debut. It wasn’t always very visible because of their somewhat complicated dynamic and because of the fact that other pairings like taekook, yoonmin and Vmin overshadowed jikook but that bond had always been there and if you pay attention, you see it.

I believe that taekook too have always been close but i also believe that there was a period where they grew a little distant. I know that, that is not something taekookers will ever agree about but it is clear to me because i have been in this fandom since the end of 2015 and have watched alot of things unfold. I agree that jikook were paired up alot at some point but i think that was because of their chemistry and closeness and not because BH had some agenda to push. How does pairing pple in subunits potray them as closest or a couple? Jikook as a ship gained recognition and popularity not because of the company but because of Jungkook and his GCF and yes seeing them together alot on content enforces certain beliefs but did yoh ever think of how you saw them? What are they doing when you see them on content? Most times you see them together in the back even when they are not the main focus of the camera or you see them coming and going together or you see them staying back to rehearse or practice together, or you see them staying back to watch and support each other during their solo practices, or you hear members talking about them as a unit. Hobi saying Jk and Jimin always stay up late together, or Joon saying after watching Jimin and Jk run around/ get along so well he got inspired or Tae mentioning on more than one occasion that Jk and Jimin were spending time together late at night, or Hobi saying that he ate with Jikook who ordered food together. It’s not one thing and certainly not company content that gives people the impression that jikook are extremely close.

Even in chapter two where it was clear that those two probably didn’t see each other as much, anyone could still feel how much they love and missed each other, especially Jungkook with his Jimin centric Lives and constantly inviting Jimin to come over for chicken, boxing, lives etc. Those two are really good friends who are very important to each other and it is normal that sometimes, when life happens and people get busy, some distance creeps in. I feel like that is what happened with Jikook after 2022. They started doing different things, Jimin working on two albums at once, Jk not working on anything and was bored outta his mind up to the extent that at some point, my man was visiting almost all the meat restaurants in korea all alone lol and then he started hanging out with Tae alot after that and then later got busy again. That is life.

I'm not going to assume this is your intent but tangentially, I'm feeling real tired of "JK hung out with Tae cos Jimin wasn't available."

Tae is only valuable when someone else isn't available? That's dehumanising.

But I'm sure that's not what you're saying because you at least recognise Taekook are close and aren't total strangers who got invited seperately to the Dreamiere and just happened to bump into each other.

Jimin was recording an album, he wasn't in solitary confinement?! Tae and JK recorded albums last year too? They all found time to go to Jeju together when JK was undoubtedly busy with album stuff.

Oh I don't know. It's ok if Jikook didn't see each other cos they didn't want to and made time for other people during their schedules, man. TKKrs accept there are times when it looks like JK and Tae might have been beefing. That is also life.

Serendipity, pt.4: jikook

Where do I begin?

"I am you. You are me."

In my opinion, this song was not written with jikook in mind, but both Jimin and Jungkook made this song theirs and of course they would!

It fits their story perfectly.

The phrase "I am you, you are me" was coined by the artist Zico in his music video for the song of the same name. This was released in January 24, 2016.

In the song, the characters notice the similarities in the stuff they do and wear. In one particular scene, both characters have bandaids on their fingers.

Jikook were both seen wearing matching bandaids in a fan meet in April 2016. When asked about it, Jimin mentioned Jk gave him and Jk wore one too. When Jk was asked about it, he said he wore it just because.

"I am you, you are me."

Serendipity was released on September 4, 2017 and Namjoon explained that the lyrics took a long time to write. Also, Zico's song was well received in Korea which makes me think that Namjoon and jikook both were inspired by this song...separately. Which is to be expected.

In the music video, the date 2017.09.01 appears. While many might think this is due to Jk's birthday and therefore the song was a gift from Jimin to him, the date is when the video was approved and finalized (if I'm not mistaken). This is truly a coincidence.

The first mention of the famous Serendipity phrase was in the Run BTS episode 62, when both Jimin and Jungkook got the same score in the machine that measure the strengths of their fingers.

Jk mentions it must the destiny but Jimin, not a destiny believer, says, "I told you. I am you, you are me" which means that they had had a conversation about their similarities before.

In these past years, Jimin and Jungkoo quoted the song for the most random things.

Both were feeling the hot temperatures of Malta?

"I am you, you are me."

Jimin had to talk about Serendipity?

Jikook came back from Tokyo? Jimin sang Serendipity while looking straight at Jk.

Touching each other's fingertips became their thing as they serenaded each other "Neoneun na, Naneun neo."

Jungkook was an avid fan of the song and was often seen seen watching Jimin rehearse the song for their tour.

Jungkook, being the big supporter of the song, would also get triggered by little things and he would randomly burst into song.

In 2020, Jk wrote his FESTA profile about Jimin and described Jimin as his “You are me, I am you."

Not only has jikook made the song theirs, they literally accused the writer of the song of plagiarism when Namjoon used a phrase similar to

"I am you, you are me."

They truly applied the song to their lives as little coincidences added up...just like in Zico's music video.

"I am you, you are me."

Personally, I can't get behind the theory that Namjoon wrote this song for jikook because that would be very weird. Namjoon would have had to be ok with writing about jikook blooming...I mean..

Namjoon also had a very clear idea of what he wanted the song to convey and how he wanted it to sound. From the sounds of that, he wasn't taking recommendations from the members. Serendipity was Namjoon's statement.

Also, the BTS book revealed that Jimin found the penicillium line funny so it makes me think that Jimin wouldn't be laughing if Jk was indeed the penicillium the song was referring to.

The song is incredibly intimate and personal so attributing it to other people feels like an insult to Namjoon's artistry.

However, I do believe that jikook made the song theirs and took the lyrics to heart.

Being from Busan, debuting with BTS, being dancers and singers, having similar goals and work ethic, and the little coincidences that connect them do make it seem like the song was serendipity for them as well.

Hey there, I’m interested to know as a 1 year old army what you see in jikook to believe they’re a couple? For me I k ew of them from 2017 but it was watching GFCT and the way Jimin looked at JK not the camera that I saw love. The UN Speech solidified their values for me. As an older queer who loves good quality music, it was a no brainer to take out a membership for a group that had an out queer couple and believed in gender expression. Side note: Yoongi saying “there’s more than two genders” makes my heart sing.

There were several clues for me that Jikook were attracted to each other.

The back hugs, back stage.

The absolute lack of honorifics.

The constant orbiting, intense looks, soft tones.

The long, awkward, charged moments of unresolved sexual tension in lives, across episodes, during shows...

The way they danced together for Coming of Age Ceremony, Black and White Prom Festa, Black Swan.

The way JK used unboxing albums as an excuse to caress Jimin's hands (right in front of my salad)!!

I suspected heavily that they acted on that attraction thanks to one room with a glass bathroom in Tokyo; the shenanigans of the Osaka VLive; and the way they both froze to find a camera in Jungkook's hotel suite. Plus, the best part of Jimin's day is waking up to see Jungkookie.

But what makes it clear to me they were a couple was the way Jimin, a consummate stage professional, immediately dropped everything and ran as fast as he could to Jungkook when he thought JK was throwing up.

The way everyone silently agreed it would be Jimin to stay behind in the room when JK got altitude sickness.

That their families have intertwined over the years.

The way Bam habitually slept in the crook of Jimin's arm as a puppy.

The way Jungkook won't even let Jimin open a plastic container without fretting he'll hurt himself with the scissors.

The way they ran to embrace the very moment JK was finished his quarantine.

It's the extra measure of attentive care they have for each other--as if the whole world melts away into a pink cloud when they are together.

It's the way others treat them as one unit, and have for years.

All the culture references and inside jokes they share that evidence countless hours together.

It's how they bring out the absolute best in each other, as artists and people.

The way they can still make each other giggle like boys chasing each other over ramen or playing hand games at award shows, even after all this time.

How they stick to each other like magnets whenever possible.

Jimin and Jungkook are their own unique persons, with their own unique personality traits. But whenever possible, they navigate the world very much aware of each other, and very much with the desire to see each other and be together.

So I have a theory they are, in fact, together-together. Even when I can't always see it.

QUICKIE - 2: Watchu Want Me To Say Tho?!...

Listening to INDIGO by RM on repeat. STILL. YES. I KNOW.

[Music is a very big part of my life and I’m MOSTLY INCAPABLE of writing without music, so I just thought I'd share what I am listening to while writing this]

I know, I know, I know .. I have blogs to complete, comments to reply and asks waiting for me to answer; I know. There are reasons for the lack thereof, of course, but today, today I will not stay here and bore you with My Lifes’ Whys, I’m currently feeling a heavy wave of sadness, which I am starting to finally recognise as a sign that my period is looming. Used to only have pain, but now I’ve evolved to heave-ass sadness ungracefully tiptoeing its way into depression, which given some personal stuff and very recent Tannie Jin specifically stuff, couldn’t have come at a worse time. But I digress, as I said, today I shall not share negative stuff.

Instead, I’d like to share a cute/funny/peculiar thing that I realised/noticed Jikook do from time to time when they start something with each other and one of them proceeds to perhaps take it a bit too far until the other is left in a situation where they are like: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” NGL, most of it is usually JM, but JK has his fair share;source: Trust Me Bro. As this is a “quickie” I’ll bring up 3 examples for each. Let’s start with JM.

#1 … IT’S JUST A GAME THO.

Time & Place: RUN BTS 15 - Aired March 14, 2017.

This was the second episode of “The Spy Who Returned” 3 parts RUN BTS episodes. At the very beginning of the episode, they are playing a “tolerance” game where they are divided into couples and each has to say something that they don’t like or that bothered them about the other and the other has to not be offended and “sincerely” state that they “understand/I see”. The couples were: Tae & Namjoon, JM & Jin and JK and Hobi (Yoongi was the host).

JK & Hobi went last and though JK had nothing to say, Hobi did, lots to say in fact 😂, which in itself would have been enough but JM, out of nowhere, had the not-so-brilliant impulse to get up in there, uncalled, to question JK about a mysterious toothbrush. JK is clearly taken-aback like all of us watching I am sure given that he and JM are in the same team. Yet JM doesn’t stop, he clearly wants to hear something from JK in regards to … the toothbrush. JK does reply, and says that the toothbrush wasn’t his and JM stands there speechless, seemingly not expecting that answer … oh the confusion of it all! … which is why JK’s “it wasn’t me” actually really felt to me more like a: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” .

This to me in “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …”-vibe is very close to the “JK hugs me when he sleeps” moment which happened at the Sinchon Fansign - May 15, 2015.

#2 SO MUCH FOR PRESENTS …

Time & Place: FESTA 2017 - Aired June 12, 2017.

We’ve actually already discussed this in a different previous post. This was one of the few times where JK wasn’t able to even try and reply to something. If it were me, and we were just friends, you’d have to wait for me to gift you something on your next birthday: YES I’M PETTY. Yet, homeboi pulled up that same year with a trip to Tokyo as a gift, so obviously the problem wasn’t the question itself. What was the problem? We will most likely never know, but in that very moment JK’s silence was definitely a: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” silence.

#3 SO YOU GETTING MARRIED UH?

Time & Place: WEVERSE LIVE in Busan - October 15, 2022.

This is one of my recent personal favs, because as opposed to the Jikook VLIVE - June 21, 2020, which also had to do with a marriage related question, this time around JK tried his very best to not divert the convo and hold his own. Yeah, he really did … but JM was not having it. He really wasn’t. How many of you have said “Yoongi Marry Me” for fun? How many of them have said “Yoongi Marry Me” for fun, including JM? At times even changing the Subject all in good fun.

This time around, JK simply mentioned that saw “Jungkook Marry Me” and all hell broke loose. Yeah, for some reason, JM wasn’t having it, and so began a little back-and-forth between the two at the end of which JM accepted that in summary JK “just saw the sign and meant to take no action”. JM smiled/laughed, got up and got out of frame. JK also smiled, watching JM leave, with a: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” giggle, like I don’t even know what just happened tho! aaand he proceeded to wait for him to get back like:

Jiminah … 😬.

And now it’s JK’s turn. Differently from JM this young man is a tad more determined in getting his answers and JM indulges, for the most part, in fact I’ve noticed that he’s never just kept silent, but don’t let it fool you, cause at times, whatever answer he provides wasn’t the answer JK was looking for; lest we forget that JM is indeed the HYUNG … but yeah, let’s get it!

#1 SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PICTURE …

Time & Place: JinJiKook VLIVE in Osaka - December 15, 2016.

Jin and Jimin decide to have a candy-centric episode of EatJin, and Jimin seems to be a bit on his mischievous streak right from the bat, but Jin, being the outstanding eldest hyung that he is doesn’t seem to mind at all and cutely goes along with his playful dongsaeng. All is well thus far until the bell rings and, you’ve guessed, it is JK.

By this point Jin, like all of us, is still very much oblivious to any argument/quarrel which might have happened between JM and JK, one may even dare say that frankly my dears, he didn’t give a damn! But JM had damns to give and so he did, testing JK on the other side of Jin’s closed hotel room. Jin is now starting to get confused and to this point, JM has full control of the whole situation, until JK whips out his cellphone.

Quite clearly JM didn’t take JK seriously, at first, he even egged him to post “whatever questionable pic” JK thought he had but that was Jin’s danger-alert-signal moment: no questionable pic was going to be uploaded on his watch and that’s how the doors were finally opened to the maknae. So, once JK got his way into the room, Jin, and us watching, clearly could sense something going on, but as for what exactly, nobody had a good clue. Like anything else revolving around Jikook afterall, for example, we may know that they once fought and JK ended up crying in the rain (FESTA 2020 - Aired June 12, 2020), but as to what caused the argument? … 🤷🏾‍♀️.

JM at this point is still trying to have it his way don’t ask me why, how would I know?! But JK was high on courage that day and ever so casually, the moment JM tried to leave the room, he once again whipped out his phone, pulled up a particular pic which we got to see later as JK did momentarily uploaded and it seemed he had something like a hickey on his neck and simply said “I took a good selfie” and JM quickly sat back down and replied “I won’t go then, all right” in a very: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” resigned manner. Then again, if the selfie was just that, a good selfie, JM could have easily said “sure, go ahead and show them”, but that’s not what happened right?

#2 STILL, YOU TURNED IT OFF

Time & Place: Jungkook (eventually TaeJiJinKook) VLIVE in New Jersey - May 19, 2019.

Yet again, Jin and Jimin were up to their shenanigans with our maknae, who just wanted to show his face to ARMY. That’s all he wanted but the other two ended the stream. So what does one do? If you are a JM you post a quick apology video on twitter, but if you are a JK you start your own stream: obviously.

This stream is supposed to be just you doing exactly what you wanted to do to begin with, show your face to ARMY, but then … all of a sudden there is a cough in the background and the plan folds when do plans every work anyways?!, immaright?.

Hence starts a whole convo summarising what just happened in Jin’s room leading up to JK’s “cutting off” during which not only does JM explain himself, he also apologises and lets JK once again know that he loves him. Yet, JK still stresses that, he just👏🏾 can’t 👏🏾let👏🏾 it 👏🏾go👏🏾 at which point JM decides that it is time for him to leave in a very: “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” fashion, more like “what else do you want me to say?!”.

#3 I SEE HOW IT IS …

Time & Place: FESTA 2022 - June 14, 2022.

Emotions are running high, slightly tipsy, but still hella high as the boys start getting us ready to momentarily part from them. Within all of this there is a lot, A LOT, of banter there are even first official talk of a PJM1 and everyone was hella excited, ARMY and TANNIES alike except for a certain JK who playfully made it known that he didn’t appreciate not knowing about progress in said PJM1, not once, not twice, not thrice, but 4 times (didn’t put the 4th time in the pic because, you know, aesthetics 😌).

JM does try to explain that he’d told everyone that they were all more than welcome to go and listen to him working if they wanted though apparently JK wanted his hyung to go to him instead, but that is a different story … in addition, when Namjoon pointed out that Hobi will always be the first for JM, both JM and Hobi quickly worked together to deny the “accusations” but at this point I think JK was very much speeding on the “I AM UPSET”-train, so much so that none of it seemed to matter and he very much and very blatantly ended up telling JM:

At which JM did reply, quickly, shyly and all the colors in between, that “I am sorry” but in a very: I mean “Whatchu Want Me To Say Tho?! …” way, and who knows, were the cameras not on he might have had more to add, but, we’ll never know!

There are actually many more moments I can think of, and much funny at that, but this was supposed to be a quickie, and I can see that it ain’t damn … So let me just leave you all with this, go make myself productive, and not stress about life for a second or two. Hope you all have a great week, okay? Okay!

Jungkook choosing to stay with BTS in 2018 (Taekook fan theories)

This post is for my dear Anon, who has been sending me some useful links on Taekook and Esthariv reflections. I don't have much time and likely this is a bit over-the-place, but I wanted to comment a little on this excerpt from a shipper about this "trust deficit" caused by the 2018 developments:

JK choosing to stay with BTS though Tae wanted out. And also because of JK choosing to play along with the official Jikook ship. They also say the same had caused some trust deficit between Tae & JK though they are still together. (...) But their relationship survived (...), would it have survived without trust ?

So, in short, as shippers' commentary typically would only deal with “romantic notions” of the story, and ignore the rest of the reality, like business choices playing a major role over personal feelings or romantic relationships, so for the notion of "trust" or "distrust" I don't take it as necessarily anything to do with romanticism, but in the sense of a lack of sufficient acknowledgment in public view of their close bond; I don't interpret "distrust" in the sense that Tkk stopped loving each other back at that time (or even that they broke up in that period at all).

"Distrust" happened because Jk actively denied him direct affection, or care, on camera and Tae was unable –as per contract-- to do anything about it –-not at least until very recently. It’s no wonder, then, that after that time, Tae would become wary and wanted to distance himself from the whole band. So here, I tend to agree with Esthariv, and too because my own journey somewhat was similar to her --barring my unfortunate Jkk chapter, consequence of joining the fandom when Jk did those 2023 Lives--. Even though I support Jk a lot, I care even more about Tae, as he was the most vulnerable one here. Its hardly surprising that Hyungs also chose to take sides with Tae in those years too, and they're trying --or at least Suga is trying-- to correct things now.

But returning to the main point which was Jungkook causing distrust on his relationship with Taehyung, stemming from his actions in 2018, one thing that both Jimin solos and Tae solos who became ex-shippers complained over time was about this: Jungkook was too much unreliable! And Esthariv spoke super harshly on the consequences of this flightiness beyond any bland romanticism. In her post from Sept. 2022 a fan commented:

What i want to know is what do you mean by being regressed from 2017-2018?? Personally I felt kook didn't have a lot of choice in that matter. Because from 2020 festa what i gathered was kook was equally miserable in 2018. So i felt like he did what he was made to think was good for the group and kook seems to depend a lot on the group. That in itself is ironic given the group relies heavily on kook. Personally what i have understood from all your asks is that you seem to think kook places BTS career above tae while tae did the reverse and now that tae seems to keep his career over kook or BTS, kook is scared of loosing tae. But isn't it a unhealthy relationship??

And so she answered (this is just an extract, her message was a lot longer):

I addressed the regression of 2017-18. In short, Kookie allowed outside people to influence how he should conduct his relationship with Tae. There is much more nuance to it but I am skipping it here. I agree that Kookie also had depression in 2018.And he drowned himself with work.I think he could not have survived it without going into auto-pilot mode.He does not have that level of mental armor like Tae.It is a very nuanced situation for all party involved.The members did not act as kookie hoped they would act in good faith.He realized too late and he has tried to reverse some of the damage since then. Again, I like Kookie separately from Tae.Because he is very deserving and talented person by himself.However, I do not find his judgement of situations particularly good.So, if Tae leaves Kookie,Or kookie leaves tae,I will not be the one to mourn Taekook like a madman. I would support Tae actively and Kookie probably too but passively because I know he is talented.I'll be intrigued to check out his stuff. (...) In the vlive after their Grammy performance this year,when the members were talking about tae goint to Lady Gaga on his own,and the members were praising his guts, Kookie had an interesting solemn reaction. As usual Taekookers interpreted it as Kookie being Jealous, but I think Kookie sees and knows and realizes that unlike the other 6 how natural it is for Tae to blend in a foreign place like he belongs there. If Taehyung was given fully functioning wings,not clipped ones, at the right time, he would have already made a solid empire by now. It’s very hard to talk about Taekook’s acceptance of each other’s career positions relative to one another. Most Taekookers find comfort in seeing their love only which is fine. But they have personal ambition too.

Hi, I'm the anon who asked about the unconfirmed JiKook thoughts. You don't have to post this. I just wanted to tell you that yours was the best non-answer answer I've ever gotten. Thank you for putting together such a cute response. I agree with you. I'm horrible at the numbers and deep theories too, but it's fun to consider and you sounded like you wanted something fun to dig your teeth into for the heck of it. They’re like me and my besties that can talk to each other on text, IG dms, snap, TikTok etc and be holding different trains of conversation on all of them AND STILL see each other or speak on the phone for hours like we’re not in constant communication on different platforms…and still have little things we didn’t know about what the other did that day or did last week. Why are we like this 😭

The thing is, it’s never 100% sure on either way. They might be a couple, they might not. I understand you’re probably in the sort of honeymoon phase and it’s unfortunate that the news about the break came so esrly into you knowing bts. For me when I came into the fandom, I was slightly addicted to finding out everything and trying to figure jikook out and all that. But with time I’ve come to accept the uncertainty of it. Of course I would want them to really be a couple, like come on, they’re the cutest things. But we can’t know and you just have to find a place to be okay with that.

As for today’s content and for the content during the spring. All I can say is that I personally don’t see anything wrong between jikook. When there has been a lull in the content, there obviously has been less moments. But even in the festa dinner jungkook managed to playfully scold jimin and he left honorifics out when he said jimin shouldn’t cry. It’s really not the skinship with those two. And Jimin looking sad, I’ve noticed that too, but even in the photoshoot episode he was going for a hug towards jungkook first and not the way he should have done it. Honestly, I don’t really know what else to say. If you can’t see it then you probably can’t and that’s okay. I personally still think there’s something between them. And I think we might still be gettin memories 2021 so there might be more moments we haven’t seen before.

I’ve never understood the whole if you can’t see it, it never happened mentality. And no I don’t mean in the tkk way. I mean in the way that with jikook we’ve had times when nothing much happens or people have speculated that something’s wrong with them. But then we get more content from that time that shows everything was okay between them. Obviouslh when they’re on a break, there won’t be that extra content. But then we might also think about our roles as fans. We shouldn’t feel entitled for every bit of knowledge as much as we’re curious to know. I hope I don’t sound too harsh with this. I do understand your worry. If this break would have happened when I was just starting with them, I would have been so devastated.

You don't sound harsh at all! I appreciate you keeping me on track and cautioning me from going down rabbit holes. I get really confused because there are times when Jungkook makes me think no one in the world could love and be protective of Jimin more than him; he seems besotted. And then other times he seems really standoffish or annoyed with Jimin or gets quite a bit flirty with someone else in the group, and I think maybe it's all just fanservice and I've been a clown. I can't really understand the vibes between them these days because they keep changing depending on the situation being filmed. I DO think there is real and deep affection between them even if they aren't a couple. They just don't seem very couple-y lately. But I only see the tip of the iceberg, and they seem to be okay with each other. I do miss that sort of loud pink cloud honeymoon phase they were in back in 2017-2018's content, but all life is change. *shrug* I plan to just go through all the official content in chronological order now until I can support the solo albums, and hope for the best. I'll try hard to ignore the cult and all the haters who snipe at JK and Jimin. BTS is my happy place when everything around me is setting off my anxiety. I just really want all 7 to be okay. [Music is a very big part of my life and I’m MOSTLY INCAPABLE of writing without music, so I just thought I'd share what I am listening to while writing this]

It’s June 12, 2017, 「BTS Festa 2017」 pulls up now remember that these festa dinners/events are usually filmed beforehand perhaps days, longest a month, most likely depending on their schedule and amongst their usual excitement and bickering we are very randomly and oh-so-casually made privy of a particular piece of information regarding Jungkook: During 2016, the only birthday present he gifted was to Jimin and the public the boys wants to know why.

For the life of me, I’m not sure exactly what they expected him to answer, or actually let me correct myself real quick; I'm not sure exactly what Jimin expected him to answer. If you watch the entire video, the members make it clear throughout the session that because they are all around each other so much, they ran out of things to ask or discuss about each other, hence most of the questions they came out with were for lack of anything real to say and really just to create lighthearted banter.

During this brainstorm-for-banter one of the members did bring up the question, which sparked JM’s interest and the way I’ve always pictured JM in my head during this moment, was him going “you know what? Yeah. Let's ask this …”. Mind you, this was a period (as shown from the infamous JinJikook vlive:

) where JM seemed to almost be requesting from JK to come forth saying things he thought he wouldn’t hear if not in front of a camera 😬.

JK didn’t answer the question, at least not in the direct way that perhaps JM wanted him to but he was hella smart about it!. If you watch the whole video you’ll see that from the moment the question was asked, JK wasn’t even given the time to reply, it was a whole back-and-forth between all the members who probably felt like some sort of grave was being dug, until JM would bring it back to subject and try to make JK answer. But JK did handle it like a pro and replied that he’d place more care in choosing member’s gifts from then on.

Why did JM want something from JK so badly? Why was JK fighting not the give this something to JM? I’m afraid we will never know unless they tell us and for the rest it can be all up to speculation, but this goes well into Jikook 2016 dynamics so I can’t digress 🥴 Back to todays topic!

So, in my opinion, JK might have dodged a bullet that day but I think it was finally made even louder and clearer that soemthing had to be done. Jungkook needed to RUN. And not run as in “run away” but run in the RUN BTS way, he needed to get to work to “solve a mission” because whatever feelings or message he was maybe trying to convey to JM were apparently not coming across; so JK got to work.

October 13, 2017 & October 15, 2017 rolled around. The first being JM’s birthday, which he went on vlive for and the second being a VMON vlive after their concert in Osaka

During vlive #1, JM is wearing presents given to him by members (as he said), one is the shirt and second is the cartier nail ring, which we will then discover, during vlive #2, was a gift from Joon. As explained by Joon, he got the gift early and also gave it to JM early. The members were all except for jimin of course added to a group where Joon wanted to give people a heads up and make sure that they didn’t feel pressured to do anything by this time gifting culture among bts was taking afoot thanks to JM himself.

I know many might want to and had speculated know what JK thought about Joon’s gift but in all honesty, I do get the vibes of him being a person very focus on his own tasks and he was a man on a mission at this point in time. Hence, besides not being it his place to start dictating to his Hyungs what they could and could not give their member as a gift, to be very honest, as he probably was already planning this try trip for a while by then I think that Joon could have given JM a diamond studded cellphone cover and JK wouldn’t have cared.

JM appreciates gifts and affectionate gestures a lot, but what he seems to really love are messages and words of affection. JK knew that by then and he did indeed have a message. So it was that, on October 13, 2017, JK posted his happy birthday tweet and to everyone’s confusion and curiosity he also added the words “It’s not over yet …”

The trip to Japan wasn’t a random “let me gift him a trip”, many interviews prior and after their trip will indicate that JM REALLY wanted to go to Japan. The way I’ve always pictured JK as he decided in his plans of action was JK probably sitting down and thinking, “I’m not the best with words but I have something to convey, what do I do?” In an interview released on November 17, 2017 meaning the interview happened beforehand, and in this case obviously before their trip by the Japanese magazine Non-No, Jimin says:

And so it was that according to various accounts of a Jikook airport citing we know they were at the airport on October 28, 2017 and were definitely back by November 1, 2017 as they had the ”Love Myself,” UNICEF’ new project with BTS, in Seoul on Wednesday. (Korean Committee for UNICEF)” press conference.

By this time, November 1, 2017, JM had no idea what would happen exactly the following week. Even after he’d post his two VLOGs for their dear first trip (November 6), he still had no clue.

So then came November 8, 2017. On this day JK would release his first Golden Closet Film, in Tokyo (GCFT). I wasn’t around at the time, but I can only imagine how excite everyone would have been to see JK’s take of Tokyo through his lenses. Yet as views started rolling in and comments piling up, by shippers and not, one thing became unanimously agreed: Rather than Tokyo, there seems to be a lot of JM.

Eventually we’ll find out that JK, amongst many of his sources, used a “how to make a travel vlog with your boyfriend/gf” tutorial video, which if it wasn’t eye-brow raising worthy already, added to his paying credits in order to use Troy Sivan’s There For You as the video’s BGM, it surly has maaaaany thinking.

Now we can stay here and analyse the song all day but one thing is for sure, every edit/movie/video has a climax, and for the climax of GCFT the clips were edited to match with the following lyric “Boy, I'm holdin' onto something Won't let go of you for nothing. I'm runnin', runnin' just to keep my hands on you. There was a time that I was so blue, What I got to do to show you?” and then for the GRAND FINALE: “Running, running, just to keep my hands on you. Running, running, just to keep my hands on you. Said, I’m running, just to keep my hands on you. But you gotta be there for me too”.

So here is what I think, feel and took out of this regardless of me thinking it to be a romantic love: JK had a couple of messages. As we may all know already or not LOVE is not as easy as the 4 letters it is made of, it varies greatly in meaning, display and intensity. However, regardless of the type of love he felt/feels at the time of him creating GCFT he clearly wanted the intended person of the video to know:

That he’ll be there for them, that he’d been running just to be there for them, but that at the same time, he needed them to be them for him too.

... I may be mistaken but how many times has JM publicly requested to hear something from JK after this? Feels, to me, like the message was delivered.
