um if it’s okay could i request what would happen if the reader was to confess to Kira? i love that man but i can’t ever find good fluff ;w;
This wasn’t as fluffy as I’d like, so I might write a sequel if y’all want.
It was just another day for Yoshikage Kira. His fingers tapped away at his keyboard as he filed inventory for Kame Yu. His colleagues buzzed around him, talking about the latest gossip. He paid no mind. He was just here to do his job and then leave, like he did every day.
A certain voice brought him out of his robotic actions. It was you. He felt something stir inside his stomach. There was something about you that made him crazy. Not in his usual way, however, it was softer… more human. He wasn’t obsessed as he often was when it came to women, more specifically their hands. He was just… fascinated. Enamored. He would even go as far as to say in love, but he couldn’t.
Yoshikage Kira lived his life one way, and adding someone like you in the mix would disturb that life. As much as his heart told him to do something rash, something he’d never done before, he remained stoic and calm.
“Hello, Kira-san, how’re you?” you said, giving him a small wave. Your cheeks flushed when he gave you his traditional amicable smile.
“I am doing fine, what seems to be the issue?”
You shook your head, clutching your suitcase at your side. “Oh, no issue! I was just saying hi! Also, I wanted to ask you something! I know it’s a bit out of the blue, but, uhh, are you busy tonight?”
Kira felt his heart skip a beat. His brain crashed. A wave of something washed over him, but he didn’t know what. It was like he just got shocked.
He knew where this was going, but did he want to go there? Kira knew he wouldn’t mind going somewhere with you, but the repercussions of that… his life could be disrupted. He couldn’t.
Kira made his decision. He knew what he was going to say.
“Not at all, why do you ask?”
‘What?’ he thought. That wasn’t what he was going to say at all! He should’ve said he was busy; brush you off like every other colleague that ever asked him out. And yet, when he spoke, it was different. His brain, the logical side of it anyway, was urging him to change his words. But he couldn’t. He had to see where this was going to go. Worse case… he could gain a new girlfriend… best case, he could gain a living one.
“I’ve got a reservation to the new Italian place that just opened up, a table for two! My friend who was going to go can’t make it, so I was wondering if you would like to join me! Of course, only if you want to!”
He took note of your stance. Your face. The flush on your cheeks and your averting eyes. He knew you liked him. He knew this was more than two colleagues going out. It was a date.
“Oh my, how kind of you!” he took your hands in his. “Are you sure you’d like to take me? You could ask anyone here and they’d jump at the chance to go, especially with a fine woman such as yourself!”
Your hands were soft. He caught a whiff of vanilla.
“Oh, you’re such a flatterer,” you replied, squeezing his hands. “I’ll write down the address for you, but no pressure! If you don’t show, I won’t be upset. I understand!”
With that, you slid your hands out of his and picked up one of his favorite pens, grabbing a blue sticky note and scribbling down an address. Your handwriting was lovely to him. So unique. And the way your hand moved as you wrote. You were so delicate.
You stuck the sticky note to his computer monitor, flashing him a parting smile before strolling off to your station.
Kira let out a breath. “What are you doing to me?” he muttered aloud. “I’m like a schoolgirl around you, and you don’t even seem to notice.”
He stole another gaze at the sticky note. You signed your name at the bottom followed by a heart. He smiled. “Oh my, what have I gotten myself into?”
This was brand new territory, but Kira suddenly didn’t feel anxious. He was excited.
A date. He was going on a date tonight…
His eyes widened. It had been forever since he’d been on one.
‘Oh dear,’ he thought, pinching the bridge of his nose. He typed away at his computer, pulling up some basic date etiquette. ‘You’ve really got me, and you don’t even know. I hope you’re ready, my dear, because this is going to be a night you’ll never forget!’
Hope you enjoyed! <3
