Not unexpected, but still satisfying. This will be helpful in getting Ukraine funding passed, among other good things. I see people being like "I feel like I'm interrupting something when i watch fit and pac" recently but I see them and I'm like. "I need to study them under a microscope. I need to witness all of the sappy silly low-key cringe things they do together and I need to gather it all up and cherish it." I love them so much n it's fun to joke about how insufferable it can get but. I really love it. I spent almost all of my 25 minute subway ride home today watching the same 3 fitpac clips on loop bc I couldn't stop giggling to myself about them. I HATE when fanfic writers villainize certain characters so they can make their fic more angsty, or so they can have a canon couple break up to do their ship.

If you want conflict between characters you can DO THAT without having to make one the devil.

Also there's many ways to get your ship going even if a character is in a canon relationship without making their partner like abusive or toxic or whatever. YOU COULD EVEN MAKE IT SO THEY WERE NEVER DATINGGGG!!! THE POSSIBILITIES ARE LITERALLY ENDLESSSSS!!!!!!

Never been a fan of people trying to shape the Golden Order into conservative Christianity. Reading fics where they talk about women needing to be "traditional" or seen but not heard, when the figurehead of the Order is a woman who has waged loads of wars, had two husbands, makes a point of examining her faith rather than submissively accepting it. Seeing posts that seem to say the GO is villainizing the use of sorcery, a way of deriding the carians, when one of the greatest champions of the Order himself studied sorcery of his own volition, and married perhaps the greatest sorceress ever known. There's nothing to indicate the GO ever had a beef with the practice of sorcery, and it's not like they shuttered Raya Lucaria after the union of the Moon and Erdtree. Cringing every time someone describes Fundamentalism as the "thoughtless extremist" wing of the Order when it's supposed to be about taking a scholarly approach to the examination of the laws of causality and regression.

Idk. It's just, there's so many reasons to be skeeved out by the GO, and it exists within a fantasy with a totally distinct history from our own world. While there are obviously influences from a wide variety of real-world sources on the mythology and world of the game, it's not a direct copy of reality. It's lame to see sth so full of opportunity for interesting world building from fans just turned into a watered down copy of what they despise in reality.

#the 'GO demonizes women' thing is esp annoying bc the game is full of powerful women #both the leaders of the most powerful countries are women #the carian line may be matrilineal and radagon didnt press to change that #one of the worlds greatest undefeated warriors is a woman #the group who carried out the most significant act of rebellion in the history of this world were all women #and its also not just women in the world of ER who are denied their agency #both omen twins are tossed in the sewers and denied their lives #and still morgott crawls back to do the order's bidding #godfrey is told to deny himself and hide away hoarah loux to become elden lord and still kicked to the curb in spite of his devotion #miquella is also an empyrean - and empyreans are condemned to be what the GW molds them into #and it feels like there is some weird shit going on with radagon by the end of his story that points to his very will being subsumed by som #higher power but idk if theres enough evidence for it #although i mean the elden beast literally turns him into an instrument of the GW in the final battle so lol #EVERYONE in this world suffers denial at the hands of the order #so when writing from within the perspective of that world it doesnt make a ton of sense to bring irl social issues bc that world does not #have those same issues

There is no point in trying to "educate" your favourite celebrities and authors about Palestine. There is decades worth of information about the genocide commited against Palestinians and if someone is advocating for some "peace on both sides" bullshit it's not because they're uneducated. It's because vocally supporting Palestine is getting people fired from their jobs, blacklisted, destroying their careers. If someone comes out with a wishy-washy "my heart breaks for the violence on both sides 🥺" stance, they have cynically chosen to prioritise their career over human lives. At that point, there is no point trying to educate someone because you want them to be a good person. Your focus shouldn't be on your favourite celebrity's personal moral journey. It should be on supporting and freeing the people of Palestine.

Wow, okay, lmao, so. My step-dad and I just drove to the gas station in the Czech Republic - most Germans in my region do that, the border isn't too far away and the gas is cheaper but still German so better for our cars' gas tanks. My partners friend is an asshole. I’ve been going stealth for over a year now (I’m not coming out if I don’t feel like it and if im not close to that person) and she tried to force me to come out to her by asking if I was on hrt.
