I saw you wanted people to talk to you. Are you ready for an autism bomb? Rats make wonderful pets. They require not a ton of work for a mammal, and can be quite cheap (Barring vet costs). Rats are very happy with any sort of toy, as long as they can chew it. Those amazon delivery boxes? Yeah, you can turn them into a rat house. They will eat the cardboard and pee all over it and love it. Old plastic dollhouse made out of soft plastic? They probably won't eat it but they will love to nap and climb on it. Food? This is the easiest. Oxbow adult rat feed and you can give them ANYTHING people can eat (Bar from onions, mangoes, citrus, papaya, and raw tubers). They can even eat chocolate! Dark chocolate also opens your rat's airways, which is great to help them during a respiratory attack, enough time to bring them to the vet. Rats love people and form very close bonds with their owners. They are also SUPER soft like cats, and also have sharp claws (Like cats). They give licks and snuggles. So sweet! I love them! Rats use squeaks to communicate, but humans can't hear most of them. Thankfully rats also use their teeth to say things. Rats can brux, an action where they rub their teeth together to make a sort of grinding sound. They do this for many reasons, with differing sounds and body language. A rat that is very happy will be very relaxed while doing a softer brux (Maybe with boggling, where their eyes pop in and out. This is due to a jaw muscle that connect right behind the eye sockets), while an upset rat will brux loud and harsh with stiff body language. A rat in pain will have their whiskers bunched and brought back, with stiff ears, hunched back, squinted eyes, and a weak to strong brux depending on the pain/discomfort.
