Hi guys! I wanted to share some recs before the year ends! I have an inspiration blog for sharing original art (@qululq), a personnal blog for sharing fan art (ask off anon for url if you want) , but fanfiction is harder to share since it's on a separate platform. So here's a round-up of some of my most beloved stuff I read this year (not all of it was published this year, some are older fics! I also only picked one fic by author but do check their other works <3)

benefit of broken hearts - Hilarious and sweet rom-com about immortality based on the song Beach House by Carly rae Jepsen

Something Else Woke Up Inside Me - Short horror story based on the visuals of Monster by Red Velvet. One of the coolest monster concepts!

At This Point, Don't Let Go - (gift for meeee) Experimental story about body swapping based on this Perfume MV.

Coffee Realists & Tea Dreamers - (another gift for me. technically read in 2022 but since the author reveals were this year i'm including it!) Short story with all original characters in the universe of Werewolf the Apocalypse. The eeriness of areas that toe the line between urban and rural.

Touhou fics (for this it was really hard to only do one fic by author lol):

Longing That Transcends Memory (by @freshlybakedspiderbread) - Various stories about love centered on Akyuu, based on the TH ship week prompts and exploring so many fun concepts and aspects of her character.

The Immortals (by @mimicteruyo) - Diary of Mokou long after the fall of Gensokyo, about eternity and the fates that befell a big cast of long-living Touhou characters.

Erin Yagokoro Says Nothing (by @yukareimu) - Pre-canon pre-Eientei TeruEri fic. I feel like saying too much would spoil it. It's short and brilliant so go see for yourself!

The Cicada Shell Diary (by @littlejustices) - LittleJustices strikes again with another amazing diary-format AkyuuRei fic. Really creative and elegant take on the ship.

[LoZ: Majora's Mask] A World Reborn (by @theseventhsage) - A few days in Cremia's life after the world didn't end, with a focus on her unrequited love for Anju who reunited with Kafei.

Currently reading: Book-wise, I'm re-reading The Dragon Boy, which is a funky little children's book I picked up in a thrift shop and can't find much about??? It's very charming tho. And fic-wise I am, as ever, re-reading Lord Floria's Anthology by leadernovaandthemacabre on ao3. (in fact, if I am ever NOT re-reading it, please assume I am dead.) I tend to re-read things a lot. Probably the autism.

Current obsession: Legend of Zegend, babey! I got forcibly yanked out of the SW fandom and infected with Zelda brainrot. I've got so many random sentences in my fic snippets doc it's unreal.

Yes, but rarely. I haven’t opened commission slots in years but if you really want a commission, send me an ask/dm/email and I’ll get back to you.

Can I use your art as an icon/header/wallpaper?

Sure! If you use it on social media then credit me, please. Don’t go printing out my artwork or using it for anything unsavory though…🙏🏻

I don’t know what to say about myself so I don’t really post anything about that. I also like my privacy…

But here are the basics: I’m Emily (Emily/Emmy/ Em/ emi are all ok). I use she/they pronouns. I’m a hobbyist illustrator and now I have returned to cosplay (Star Wars only atm). I’m a translator and live in Japan with my husband (and hopefully a cat in the future!). My favorite things include LOZ, FF, obscure JRPGs, Star Wars, LOTR, cooking/baking, crafting, languages, and animals.

OMG okay I don’t tend to talk abt video games but I do really enjoy a bunch of them!! Let me preface by saying I will like nearly anything I play and I straight up do not care abt reviews

I like the obvious big games like the Witcher series, tes (morrowind specifically), resident evil series (the second one will forever be in my heart), and yeah tlou has rotted my brain for years LMFAO

Anyways I’m going to ramble extensively abt all the games I like in no order I’m very sorry

Other than the bigger games that almost everyone knows and enjoys, my favourites have definitely been bloodborne, which is a bigger game but means a bonkers amount to me

I looovvve survival horror games which might be obvious, so sweet home is obviously one I’ve played. There are definitely better out there (alien isolation in particular is one I’m super fond of!), and i like other games in that genre like the amnesia series (including the unofficial sequel), as well as newer series like the dark pictures anthology! And u know what putting last of us in here as well and saying I don’t like the second game all that much but it was very good AND LAYERS OF FEAR GD LAYERS OF FEAR. MAN. okay will stop talking abt horror games i will talk so much abt them if left unchecked

Im a SUCKER for classics too, like street fighter and LoZ series, and final fantasy as well! Sonic games as well but I didn’t played them that often so the most I really get from them is nostalgia </3 sorry sonic fans

Cube escape paradox doesn’t really belong with any of these games, but I had a blast playing it with my friend (: super interesting puzzle game and we were confused for abt 5 hours trying to get through it all
