I recently discovered adult merit badges, and let me tell you it has changed my life. I use them to award myself for accomplishments throughout the day. Hey tumblr users, I'm trying to do a thing and could use your help.

A while ago, I was browsing reddit and I saw a post that said something along the lines of how the guys in a dorm were doing this thing where they were awarding one another merit badges very similar to the Boy Scouts, except it was for very niche things - like "Remembered to Put Toilet Lid Down" or "Is Gay" or "Got a Cat"

Well, it got my ADHD Goblin brain thinking, and now I'm about 40 niche merit badges in and I Cannot Stop™. I would like to share these badges in a way that other users may select those that apply to them, can view said selected badges, and can copy and paste links to their results for others to see - it would also be nice if they could go back and add badges to their current selection (would also be nice if other users can gift merit badges to their friends via link but hey, that's more complicated than necessary)

So, I guess my question is this: is there a template site that allows you to create such a thing? Like Google Forms or Survey Hero? Or... is this a website? Am I gonna have to create a website? :/ I'm probably better off with a website, aren't I?

page 183 - When I was younger and in boy scouts, badges were it. I worked my way through the badge section of the scout book, applying for the badges I already thought I qualified for and working steadily to achieve the ones that asked for something new. I started working on one for trapping and skinning animals, really thought about where I should run my trap line and what kinds of animals I might catch. I didn't know how to trap but thought I could figure it out, or that the scout leader would eventually get around to showing us some techniques.

I didn't understand that a trap line wasn't something like a clothesline that you set up in the woods. You didn't walk the string every few days plucking off whatever creature had been unlucky enough to have its leg caught or its neck snapped. I never understood the mechanics of it all. And after months of waiting I re-read the book and noticed that badge was only available to boys who lived in the north where trapping happened.

Anyway, I feel weird. This badge is for identifying four supernovae and having your discovery confirmed by a national astronomical body.

It was super hot out today, so I took my Scout Troopers on a field trip to the Finalizer's swimming pool to cool off after school.

The Force adept ones spent the afternoon amusing the rest of us by walking off the edge of the diving board and suspending themselves in the air for a second, just before looking down in surprise and falling into the water like a cartoon character.

Well done. They're all getting Comedy Gold badges. That's not a real Scout Trooper badge, but I'm making some and giving them out, anyway.

International Trail Marking

While skiing or snowboarding, you will come across certain symbols and colors associated with each of the trails you plan on exploring. Not fully understanding the level or expertise associated with each run could be extremely hazardous. If you are a beginner on the slopes, the last thing you want to do is mistakenly go down a double black diamond run. These signs are there for your safety and should always be followed.

Each ski area will indicate the following:

Green Circle - Beginner

Blue Square - Intermediate

Black Diamond - Advanced

Double Black Diamond - Very Advanced or Extreme

Orange Pill - Freestyle Terrain

Yellow Triangle with Exclamation Point - Caution

Crossed Out Circle - Trail Closed

If the trail marker indicates that the trail is closed, do not cross into the area thinking that you will be fine. It’s closed for a reason which is always for your safety and the safety of others. Always ask a member of ski patrol if you have any questions.
