Contralateral Patterning One of the most amazing and beautiful things about walking is the crisscross pattern of arms and legs working together to move us. It is a patterning of movement and mastery… “Movement begins in our mother’s womb and we continue to master developmental movement patterns through our elementary years. As the movement scenarios become ingrained into our bodies, brains, and movement repertoires they are patterned into our fascia. These patterns are not all subtle, but rather quite fractal. They are reiterated over and over again in various systems of the body. We can see them in the hugely visible structures and the microscopic ones expressing the same order. Their geometric efficiency is tangibly displayed in all fascial structures. The accumulation of movement patterns reinforces and dynamically forges the tensegrity (tensional integrity) of the entire body.” -Melinda Cooksey Bekos MS, PhD I think I will be running next live zoom Course on arm lines and their connections through gait. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! I don't know about you, but #fearisnotafactor for me! So let's work a #muaythai combo that's part #cardioworkouts and part #mortalkombat #workout . But, muay thai #gotmefit so i owe a lot to the sport and want to introduce others to some of its movement patterns. #getthebodymoving and such. If you want traditional, join an academy. “Because one believes in oneself, one doesn't try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn't need others' approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” ― Lao Tzu The final pose for our challenge #strengththruasana is any #inversion 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ I went with a simple #handstand that I actually held for like 2.2 seconds, which for me is pretty darn good💪 I’ve been doing and teaching #yoga for many years and I actually never did inversions, at all, ever. Hello and I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July! Here's a quick #trainertip brought to you by yours truly. I began incorporating the #pausesquat into my #squat warmups two weeks ago and I recommend you do the same. Pause Squats just what they sound like: descend to the bottom and hold for at least two seconds. Do them because holding the bottom position increases #timeundertension, stimulating the quads, therefore acting as a catalyst for further growth. Do them because the increased TUT improves the #concentric portion of the squat - the explosiveness. Do them because your chest will be forced to lead in the ascension from the bottom as you explode up, followed by your #hips. This obviously is a blatant reinforcement of #movementpatterns. Here's 185 paused at the bottom. It's 75% of yesterday's desired weight of 265. For more tips, as well as basic, yet effective #strengthtraining, I'm available for #oneononepersonaltraining at the iconic @strongandshapely. I'm also available for #onlinepersonaltraining and #nutritioncoaching via Zoom and Skype. I'm also available for #athomepersonaltraining. Your lateral line: muscles, myofascia, and meridians What came first? Chicken or the egg? Well, in terms of vertebrates patterns “spinal yield & push” is the first vertebrate pattern. We either initiate this movement from the head or the tail to produce movement from our poles. Initiating from the head sends us tailward, and initiating from the tail sends us headward. This is represented by fish, as previously discussed in other posts, but also seen in humans by the fetus yielding and pushing the body against the wall of the uterus and by newborns initiating movement to briefly lift their head like in search for the nipple. It is the both, of course, tail to head and head to tail that balance each other and provide cohesiveness through the central axis. The human brain organizes movement by creating movement patterns that we call on to move our bodies everyday. These patterns allow us to unconsciously engage the chain of sequenced muscle activations necessary to lift an arm, turn a head… or play a game of tennis. If we had to consciously activate every single muscle required for all the movement in our days, there would be no room in our brains for anything else! @the_movement_docs ・ The Extensor Hallicus Longus👣 .. We get a lot of people in our office who are incorrectly diagnosed with "shin splints". The Extensor Hallicus Longus is a muscle that runs between the Tibialis Anterior (the shin splint muscle) and the Extensor Digitorum Longus. It's function is to extend the big toe and dorsiflex the foot. .. By strengthening this muscle you can take stress of the Tibialis Anterior and even the plantar fascia. Strengthening small intrinsic muscles of the feet can take stress off the big global movers and create a more biomechanically happy movement pattern! .. Rehabilitation intervention does not merely treat physical symptoms, but actively addresses the influences that resulted in the condition. .. #foothealth #shinpain #shinsplints #medialtibialstresssyndrome #MTSS #rehab #podiatry #movementpatterns #correctivemovementpatterns #running #runners #walking #ranchocucamonga #sportschiro #themovement #sportschiropractic #windlassmechanism https://www.instagram.com/vaultermagazine/p/Bvnoapcg8it/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=14yiaven85xid
