i finished the mario movie

#dectalk speaking #my thoughts: #very fun movie! i expected worse going in but it was a really really fun watch #my only nitpicks are that peach's backstory was like thrown in and then not elaborated on HHQSDFDFG. #and i really really wish luigi had more screentime but also im biased as the nr1 luigi fan #im not gonna comment too heavily on the writing bc like #its a kids movie. im not expecting the godfather level of writing from it #also jack black was so good as bowser #and charlie day as luigi fits better than i thought! it sort of reminds me of the super mario super show voice #krisp rat. is here. for some goddamn reason #i mean he was okay? but like compared to the rest #anyways uh. im not gonna be sane after this sorry

"Adorable!! Look at the little children getting involved with the show directly! They got to be the heroes who helped save the Princess and stop the mutiny! As pirates and even Navy!"

"The jokes may be predictable, and we can spot all the licensed music from assorted pirate media like Hook, Pirates of the Caribbean, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, and even Lazytown and Spongebob, but again--it's all done with sincerity. Most of the stunts, singing, and choreography may not be anymore than serviceable and competent, but at least Cirque du Soleil-type of stunts were nice."

"I love how the mermaid spent most of her time in the air than in the water, though. But her frequently trying to escape the pirate ship in the background--even going as far as doing Rock-Paper-Scissors to trick the pirates into letting her go--was genuinely a treat."

"Food was pretty good. Nothing too special, but the presentation was nice. Never thought of having horseradish with mashed potatoes, though."

"Quite honestly, the biggest highlight of the entire show was that entire line of high school girls cheering for our group pirate the whole show, and when he died in-story, the girls were mad. But hey, at least they all gathered to have photos and autographs with the performer at the end!"

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

still thinking about the brainrot that fast fashion has caused in people, like i made this pair of pants that are black and white with a cool flowery design, and an acquaintance saw them and said "wow i'd pay like 20 dollars for you to make me a pair" and i could barely think with how utterly horrified i was at that; i told them that 20 dollars wouldn't even cover the materials, let alone the hours of work that went into cutting, sewing, ironing, hemming, altering, etc. they just had this look on their face when i told them that, when i said i wouldn't make them a pair for even 100 dollars because that was still way too low of an amount, a look that said "you're crazy for thinking that those cost 100 dollars" and maybe i am crazy but holy shit, 20 dollars for a pair of handmade, durable, lined pants fitted specifically to your measurements? 20 dollars for upwards of 60 hours of work? 20 dollars for several yards of high-quality fabric, thread, and buttons? 20 dollars???
