probably yeah. she does wash thoroughly, she smells nice but just also probably of 5 in one. scarlet probably smells rly strongly of like vanilla perfume or something.

towards fish yeah, to other ppl no. their dad is more terrible to other people than his own family- aside from trisha who its a little sus. (ig its like, no u shouldnt move out, live with ur parents the rest of ur life bc what if u eat everyone, we have a basement. avery probably could afford a nicer apartment (her apartment isnt that bad structurally, its just undecorated and ugly because she has no idea what she's doing and doesnt have a life outside of her job. like at all. whatsoever. & yeah averys a sopping wet creature she absolutely hates herself) but she doesn't see the point. she saves a lot, & when she buys stuff she buys stuff that'll last a long time so usually a little more expensive. she doesnt want to buy a house bc she doesnt want to deal with selling a house. imagine being able to afford a house. vampire hunters usually get paid rly well- they get paid per pair of fangs they turn in (vampires leave them behind when they die lol i forgot to mention that) so avery being pretty skilled gets paid pretty well- kelly being pretty shit doesnt get paid much (avery gives him some of the fangs she gets) scarlet used to be decent so she also got paid well but now she just. turns her own fangs in all the time and that's gathering a lot of money. for her projects. and she bought a funny little house with no upstairs but a downstairs that looks like an upstairs. so. ig scarlets the richest of the three rn bc of her little infinite money hack- avery could do it too but she doesnt rly wanna rip her teeth out all the time, and she hasnt quit killing vampires so whats the point.

so kinda- i figure averys 5'4 ish, and kellys an itty bit taller, then i figured scarlets maybe 5'8 but then. i put them in this height comparision thingy and. it says scarlets 6'2 which was NOT my intention, but when u look how much taller she is in the comic. like. damn maybe??? i wouldnt take that as 100% canon tho bc the way i draw proportions is obvs different to this chart

accident. oh well. trisha might be a bit smaller idk.

and i made one of these for triptrack last year, cant say how accurate it is tho but here

toad is probably 210 cm but slouches

Huh…. I slowly open my eyes ugh I say as I realize it’s morning.. Y/N WAKE UP I hear my mom yell I groan as I roll out of bed and make my way to my closet, today is a big day my papa is coming back to see us he was out of the country for work I do wish sometimes he wouldn’t go out so far but he need to pay for the home it’s getting stressful for my mama and papa I can tell papa is rlly never home but- “Y/N COME ON WE NEED TO GO” I’m cut off by my mom “OK JUST GETTING READY “ I yell back I take a deep breath and sign.. ok here we go.. I look in my closet trying to find something acceptable, look good but comfortable I end of finding a cue blue dress that hugs my body perfectly

it’s baby blue with little bots of white, I look at my self in the mirror and think perfect, I run down stairs to find my mom waiting for me with a face of only what ppl can say… excitement and disappointment but soon turns into a one of love and happiness “ oh my god y/n u look Beautiful..” I brush “ty mama” as I say that I smile softly “we will be going out to eat with papa soon after we meet him at the airport, but if u wanna fun and get a snack rn u can” moms says. I start to think and I will eat with them as a famliy “nah mom it’s all good” I say she smiles and grins and says ok let’s go we don’t want to keep him waiting” I grin and laugh and say “ok mama let’s go” we get into the car and start to drive to the airport mom starts to talk

“well he went to college”mama say’s excited ! It’s crazy how big he has gotten I remember when he was just a little boy he’s has grown into his looks” I brush “mommmm “i say brushing “what its true u should two should start talking he’s handsome and nice she says” “what-“ I say “ok okkk ok I will stop now” mom says grinning we drive into the airport parking lot we park and get out of the car we start walking to the doors I’m so excited to see my papa it’s been so long 1 year feels so long to be without a parent his work has been hard he works a lot just to pass by and we love him and appreciate him for it.. I hear my mom gasps and I see my papa we both run to his and give him a big hug! A Promise - pt. 1 | Will Schofield

a/n: i broke this into two parts bc it was super long. this is the really heartbreaking story idea i had...i also stopped writing it for a few days bc im not expecting to get much notes on it and it discouraged me, but i loved writing it, so why not 🤷🏼‍♀️

another a/n: it’s my birthday!! :) this is the second will fic i’ve posted on my birthday for a second year in a row 🤣 i’ll be sitting at home, making a cake, being snowed in from the winter storm, enjoying some cheesecake factory, drinking kool-aid and watching hamilton lol

Having Tom home for the holidays was amazing. He had so many stories from training, about other soldiers getting caught in hilarious situations. It was so nice to hear his laugh again and just be in his presence.

You’ve known Tom for a short time, but you fell in love instantly. He was delivering a basket of cherries to your house, from his mother to yours, and that’s when you met. From then, you’ve spent all your time together, in his backyard, at local parks, even in your homes; you were inseparable.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do when you go back,” you whisper against Tom’s chest. Your night was filled with passion in his dim-lit room, the covers surrounding your sweaty bodies.

“You’ll survive,” he teases you with a couple kisses here and there. You giggle softly and curl into his body, not wanting him to leave. He was home for the holidays, but unfortunately, he was being sent to France in a few days. “I’ll write to you every chance I can.”

“You better.” He smiles and kisses you deeply.

That was one of the last passionate kisses you shared.

About a month after he left, you found out you were pregnant. You knew it was from that night, and you were so excited to write to Tom and tell him.

Dear my Tom,

I have wonderful news... I’m pregnant! You’re going to be a dad! I cannot wait for your next leave so you can be here for at least some of the pregnancy. It’s going to go so fast, they’ll be here before we know it. I love you. Come home soon.

Love, (Y/N)

He wrote back very quickly.

Dear my love,

I am so elated that we’re going to have a baby! It’s always been my dream to start a family with the woman I love. I cannot wait to see pictures of your baby belly and hear about everything.

Love, your Tom

Those letters continued for the next few months. You gave Tom updates every single week, dreamily writing what your life would be like when they’re born, and if the war would be over. Every letter contained sweet comments from him, until one letter stood out to you one day in April.

“Iris,” you shakily walk to where she sat in the living room. You had moved in with her when you found out you were pregnant. She was so excited to have a grandchild, and she wanted to take the best care of you, for yourself and for Tom.

“What is it, darling?” You hand her the paper covered in someone else’s handwriting, not daring to read anymore than the dreaded greeting, “To (Y/N) and Iris”. Not “dear my love” like Tom writes.

She scans it for a few seconds before bursting into tears. This makes your heart speed up and anxiety builds in your body. She suddenly screams out in horror, and you know something bad happened.

Picking the paper up, you carefully read over the writing, your heart shattering to pieces as you read the statement, “Tom has been killed”. At first, you don’t react. It doesn’t feel real. It feels like someone’s messing with you, one of Tom’s good mates did this, right?

After reading it over and over, you finally look at the closing, which is written by Will Schofield, Tom’s trusted friend. That’s when you break down.

You fall to your knees, your hands covering your face as your body goes numb.

He’s gone. He’s really gone.

“Why!?” You scream in heartbreak. Iris rushes over to you immediately, attempting to put her own grief aside to comfort you.

“(Y/N), you h-have to relax, you can’t stress yourself out. It’s bad for the baby.” At the mention of your unborn child, you cry out even more. He wouldn’t get to see his child.

A sob escapes your lips and you clutch at your chest, images of your first and only love running through your mind. How could you go on?

You managed to get through a month since receiving the news of Tom’s death. It definitely wasn’t easy, but being with Iris made it all the better. You comforted one another when you needed to, and often went into town to shop or have lunch, just to get your mind off things.

A month and a half later, you were still so heartbroken, but you knew you needed to stay strong for your baby. According to your doctor, they were still pretty healthy, as were you, surprisingly. You told him about what happened, and he was very understanding, but he assured you that everything so far was fine, and to just take things easy now.

One day, you and Iris were baking a few cherry pies to deliver to people around town, when a knock on the front door interrupted you. Wiping your hands, you walk to the grand entryway and open it, coming face-to-face with a nice-looking young man.

“Can I help you?” You ask. He takes a deep breath and smiles.

“I’m William Schofield,” he says softly. The name triggers you instantly, and you suddenly feel dizzy. He senses this and helps you inside and onto the couch.

“Who was it, darling?” Iris walks into the living room and sees Will helping you. “Who are you?”

“My name is Will Schofield. I was a friend of Tom’s, and the one who sent the letter informing you of…” he tapers off, hoping she would understand. She does, nodding and motioning for him to take a seat. She walks back into the kitchen while you are still trying to process it all.

The room is silent and awkward. Will doesn’t know what to say, or if he should say anything at all. Thankfully, Iris returns with three cups of tea.

“So, Will. Are you on leave or were you sent here?” He takes a cup from her hands and thanks her softly.

“I was discharged. I sustained some injuries on, uh, the, um, the-”

“It’s okay,” Iris whispers. He nods and wipes his cheek. You stare at him, taking his appearance in. He was nothing like Tom described him as. He was very handsome, bright blue eyes that sparkled with tears. You suddenly feel guilty for staring at him for too long, still attached to the thought that Tom was still alive and he was still your boyfriend.

You zoned out, thinking of Tom once again. What he was like, his laugh, your favorite sound in the world.

“Love?” Iris’s voice breaks you from your daze. That’s when you realized you were silently crying, tears streaming down your cheeks.

“Sorry,” you mumble, quickly standing and running to your room. The door shuts behind you and you fall onto your bed, sobbing quietly into the pillow that used to be Tom’s.

About ten minutes pass and you’re no longer crying. But, your heart still feels heavy and you feel a little numb. A soft knock sounds through the room, and you call out weakly for whoever it is to come in. Sitting up, you see Will cautiously stepping inside. He closes the door gently and awkwardly walks further into the room.

“Hi,” you mumble. He waves and looks around for a chair, but you pat the bed next to you. He sits down slowly and fiddles with his hands.

“I’m so sorry for what you’re going through,” he whispers, keeping his eyes forward.

“It’s probably affecting you as well. According to his letters, you two were great friends.” He chuckles and nods.

“We were friends, but I wasn’t his love or mother of his child.” Tears spring to your eyes once again.

“Yeah, that’s…” you were at a loss for words. You’ve talked about this countless times with Iris, but suddenly, being around Will made it hard for some reason.

“Tom was so excited to be a dad,” he murmurs, a hint of love in his voice. “Every letter he got from you, his face lit up at whatever update you gave him. And he told me about every single one.” You laugh through your tears and finally look at Will. He also had tears in his eyes, yet there was a deeper emotion behind them.

“He was a good man,” he continues. “Always telling jokes and stories. He honestly made the whole experience better.”

“Yeah, that was his specialty, his stories. He had an endless amount of them.”

“That he did.” A silence hangs in the air for a moment.

“Um, can we please change the topic? Because as much as I’d love to talk about Tom more, I don’t think I’m quite ready,” you shyly mumble.

“Yeah, of course. Have you seen any films recently?”

For the rest of the night, you and Will get to know one another, talking about everything and anything, except for Tom; he respected your wish and avoided the topic as best as he could.

After that night, Will visited you every weekend, spending Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with you and Iris. He made sure you were staying healthy and resting, and one night, you asked him about it.

“Will?” You whisper. He was sitting in the guest room, at the desk in the corner. It was well into the night, but you had to ask him now.

“What’s wrong?” He’s standing within seconds, running over to you to make sure you weren’t injured or something was wrong with the baby.

“Nothing. But, I am curious about one thing.”

“What’s that?”

“Why have you been visiting so much? Not that I don’t enjoy your company, it’s been really nice and Iris loves having you here as well, but why?” He sits on the bed and motions for you to join. You two crawl to the top, against the headboard, and he begins.

“When Tom was...dying, he asked me to care for you, to make sure you have a healthy and happy baby. He asked me to check up on you often and make sure you’re okay, both with the baby and yourself, mentally. He knew what he was leaving behind, and he hated that you were going to be left alone, with just his mum.” Tears pool in your eyes and threaten to spill over as Will continues.

“I made a promise to him that I would protect you and the baby. So I’m going to do that.” Your tears finally fall, and your hands rest on your bump, wishing they could have met their amazing father.

“I just wish he was still here,” you quietly sob. Will wraps an arm around your shoulder and pulls you close to him.

“I know, love. They’ll get to know him through yours and Iris’s stories. Their father won’t be forgotten, I promise you that.”

The months go by, and Will keeps his promise till the end. In early October, you gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. You named him Percy Thomas Blake; Tom had always talked about how he loved the name ‘Percy’ for a boy and wanted to use it one day, so you had to keep his wish.

Will was up with you, in the middle of the night as Percy cried out. You were in tears, having tried everything to calm him. Changing him, wrapping him in a blanket, trying to feed him, but nothing worked.

“Here,” Will says, removing his shirt, “let me try something.” He takes the baby from you carefully and rests him against his bare chest. Moments later, the room goes quiet and Percy is fully content. You breathe out a sigh of relief and fall onto the bed.

“Thank you,” you murmur, closing your eyes and enjoying the peaceful moment. Will goes to sit in the rocking chair in the corner of your room, but you invite him to lay beside you. He’s hesitant at first, but he gently lays down, Percy now fast asleep on his chest.

“I really appreciate you doing this,” you say softly. “Being here and helping Iris and I. I have no idea what I would have done if I was alone.”

“Like I said, it was my promise.”

“I know, but to drop everything and help take care of a baby that’s not yours is so incredibly nice.”

“He may not be mine, but that doesn’t mean I won’t care for him when I promised to for a friend.”

A smile spreads across your lips and your hand comes to rest on your son’s back. For a moment, you forget everything bad that’s happened. You feel happy for the first time in months. You just hoped that would last.

To your surprise, it did.

Will basically lives with you and Iris now, and you’re so thankful that he stayed. Him and your son created this unbreakable bond, and you were more than happy that Percy was able to have someone like Will in his life.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years came and passed, and Will was by your side as you mourned the memory of the last time you saw Tom, a year ago. But, as you got through the days together, you couldn’t help but have one thought on your mind.

“Alright, goodnight, bubs. Tomorrow morning, we’re going to see grandmummy!” Your son cheers tiredly at your words, and you give him a kiss on his head. Will appears behind you and proceeds to do the same routine. He follows you out of the room, turning the light off and shutting the door. He begins to walk into his room, but you stop him

“Can I talk to you about something?” You wonder quietly, nerves filling your body. He nods and grabs your hand, guiding you to the living room couch. Iris was gone for the weekend, so you had the house to yourselves.

“So, what is it?” Taking a deep breath, you keep your eyes on your hands, not wanting to look him in the eyes.

“I think I’m in love with you.”

1. Who makes the first move and how? i honestly think it was pretty even steven here ? they both bickered a lot at their photo shoot , working together . i feel like cassie was SO frustrated with him and his easy charm / cockiness that she probably kissed him first just to shut him up

Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better? cassie has always had severe insecurities and issues there . i think just being in the same space as kyle always soothes her ? like he’ll make a dumb joke , or say smth dumb n sarcastic or poke fun at her lightly at it’ll kinda help her get out of her head ? she also loves taking baths , or just lying in bed together .

jun is the so-called fiery leader of ace (also lead dancer and lead vocal) but is honestly just a giant dork and a sweetheart. hes the type of guy who you scream at for being dumb and call him an idiot but thats your weird way of expressing your undying love for him?? ask literally any jun stan, they’ll say they hate him. hate him for being so PERFECT like a fucking DISNEY PRINCE he’s the designated prince of the group you know theres always that one member and hes just so LOVEABLE and stupid and skjdakhkjs he fuckign dropped his cake on his birthday when do your faves ever. dad of the group, probably lost the maknaes in the shopping mall about 3 times already. talks a lot, hates aegyo, his members might be planning on sacrificing him to satan? he does on idol class with chan every…i think its wednesday and fans vote who gets punishments n stuff and jun loses every damn time i think hes losing his faith in choice lmao. #saveleaderjun

BUT HES ALSO A SWEET NOODLE HJKSHJKS oH and did you know that before he joined a.c.e he had no experience in dancing whatsoever and in a year and a half, he caught up with the other four members that have been dancing since they were kids?? I STAN TALENT YALL you’d literally never be able to guess that bc all of them are like on an equal dance level its insane

his stage name is wow, but its hard to take seriously so the fandom just calls him sehyoon lmfao. it used to be seyoon but when he went on mixnine, he revealed sehyoon was the official romanization so here we are lmao. even if your bias isn’t sehyoon…it’s sehyoon. he’s just that guy ya feel me?? anyways sehyoon is a relatively quiet and reserved guy, but his members really pull out the dork in him, i love it so much?? he doesn’t talk much but when he does all of a.c.e directs their full attention to him to listen, its really sweet, hes pretty awkward with people but you can tell he just feels so safe and comfortable with ace it honestly warms my heart. he’s the main rapper and main dancer, but!! our multitalented man is also a vocalist. yes, you heard, me, the main rapper can sing, and really well at that. (if you scroll up back to the flashlight and dont recall covers, you can see more of his voice.)

gets the least lines, but not by much. although hearing his singing voice in their actual songs has happened like with 2 lines?? so idk man im just waiting for their ballad song that theyre apparently doing for their third song, god im so ready. i love his voice a lot, damn.

he’s also like reeeeeeeeeally gay for jason…the entire fandom ships it and they even ship it themselves. wowson, the otp of ace, they honestly just cant keep their hands off eachother??? i know a friend who struggled to tell apart jun and jason so she just looked at who sehyoon was standing next to and instantly knew it was jason. jason is the weird child of the group and we all love him…he’s the second lil ball of sunshine and part ½ of the maknae line. he’s often found clinging to sehyoon or literally any of the members bc he’s an affectionate son who loves cuddles okay?? p r o t e c t h i m.

he’s also the lead everything. yeah thats really not fair but jason is op ok?? singing, rapping, dancing, visual, like sehyoon he’s the full package, i can hardly call them the rap line they’re just the op line t b h. triple threats.

This is (kind of) a sequel to Before the End of the Semester and All’s Fair (Semester 2). It takes place a little bit before the start of Semester 1 and ends right up to the beginning of the library smut from Alex’s POV.

Alex dropped the last of his bags on his bed, looking around the room to figure out what order he should organize his things in. Move in day was always hectic and stressful but you’d think after two years of college, he’d have it down already.

A loud bang and a strong French accent coming from down the hall notified him that Gilbert had just arrived. Smiling, he walked out of his room and down the hall to Gil’s.

“Nice flight,” he asked, leaning against the door frame. “Alexander! Mon meilleur ami!” He grinned and opened his arms wide for a hug which Alex happily obliged. Gil’s hugs were the best.

“How was France?”

“Incroyable. All the cousins were there and ma grandmére. She makes the best chocolatines. I had some shipped over for you guys. Your life will change forever.”

Alex laughed. He missed Gil and all his friends when they were on break but especially Gil. His life was boring without Gil’s drama in it.

“Did you get your class schedule?”

“‘Did you,’ is the more important question. Will we have to suffer through yet another semester of you pining after Y/N?”

“I don’t pine. And, yes, but I don’t know what her schedule is.”

Gil raised an eyebrow as he folded a shirt. “You mean you didn’t ask your dad?”

“George isn’t my dad-”

“He adopted you when you were fourteen-”

“He’s not my dad.”

“Fine. You didn’t ask Washington to find out for you?”

“No.” Another eyebrow raise. “Fine, yes.”

“Et?”

Alex ran a hand through his hair. “We’re in the same classes again. But I’m over it. It’s been a long summer and I’m only focused on getting valedictorian.”

“Give it five minutes into your first class and you’ll be at each other’s throats.”

He rolled his eyes. “I think I have more self control than that.”

“You two have been hurling insults at each other and debating like it’s a courtroom for two years straight. That’s not going to stop overnight. Or over a summer.”

“Whatever-”

“Non, mon ami. This has been a thing for two years. We’re getting you two together.”

Alex groaned. “Whatever you’re thinking of doing, don’t. Seriously.”

“Pourquois pas?” (Why not?)

“Parce que je ne veux pas qu’elle pense que je suis amoureux d’elle ou quelque chose.” (Because I don’t want her to think I’m in love with her or anything.)

“Bien, es-tu?” (Well, are you?)

“C’est sans importance.” (That’s irrelevant.)

“Dieu, tu es!” (Oh my god, you are!)

“Est-ce que ça importe? Elle me deteste.” (Does it matter? She hates me.)

Alex found that very hard to believe.

By the first day of classes, Gil’s bet had already spread across campus and several people had come up to him to ask him to seduce Y/N on a specific day. Alex was growing tired of it. There was no need for the bet and he was going to prove it by being nice.

It turned out to be difficult since as soon as he spoke up, you responded with absolute venom.

“Here we are again, Y/L/N,” he said, smiling a little to show he held no animosity. “I’m curious to see how your debating skills have improved over the summer.”

“You have yet to beat me in a debate so maybe I should be saying that to you, Hamilton.” Y/N smirked.

Alex turned around with a frown, intent on ignoring you for the rest of the class when George walked in and announced that they would be working in partners.

For the whole semester.

Alex hated group projects. No one ever pulled their weight or was able to keep up with him and he ended up doing all of the work while his partners got credit.

And then the worst possible thing happened.

“Y/N Y/L/N and Alexander Hamilton. Find your seats please.”

George expected him to work with you for an entire semester? He was definitely going to talk to him about this after class.

But first, he had the absolute joy of dealing with you. He sent you a smirk, knowing you hated this just as much as he did but not willing to let that show, and moved his bag off the seat next to him. Just to annoy you, he patted the seat in a silent command to sit.

If you weren’t going to try to be nice, neither was he. And he was the best asshole anywhere around when he tried.

As the class shuffled out of the room, you particularly fast without even looking at the country assignment sheet, Alex made his way to George’s desk at the front of the room.

“Yes, Alex?”

“I need a new partner.”

He sighed and looked up from his syllabus on the desk. “Did I or did I not say partners were final and not up to your choosing?”

“Okay, but this is a different situation-”

“You expect me to give you special treatment because you’re my son?”

“I’m not your son.” A pained look flashed across George’s face but it was gone in an instant. What he said was true so Alex wasn’t very concerned and he blazed on. “Y/N and I have a history of blowing up at each other. We can’t work together.”

“You two are the smartest kids in this class. You just have to work together, not socialize.”

“But-”

“No but’s. And, anyway, I thought you’d be happy about this. I only put you together because your friend Gilbert said you’d like it.”

Alex groaned. Of course Gil had something to do with this. “Please, just change it.”

“I can’t do that, son. If I did it for you, everyone else would want a new partner too.” George looked over him quickly as if he wanted to say something else but changed his mind. “I think you’ll work well together. I did give you the best country.” He smiled and picked up his briefcase, leaving the classroom.

Alex put the strap of his bag over his shoulder and walked over to the paper that held your assignment. After finding both of your names and the country across from it, he quickly exited the building to try to catch up with you. He wasn’t going to let his grade suffer because you didn’t know what the project was on.

“So you have her number?”

“Yes, Gil, I have her number.”

“That was faster than I expected,” commented John.

Alex glared and whipped him with the dish towel on the counter. “You act like I have no game. I’ve had more sex than all of you combined.”

“Yes, Alex, we’re surprised you don’t have a multitude of STD’s either.”

“Oh, shut up, Herc.”

“I think what they meant,” Gil paused to taste the sauce he had simmering on the stove, “was that for two years you’ve been stuck arguing with her in the friendzone and now you have her number.”

“I don’t think you can call it the friendzone if they weren’t friends.” John laughed.

“Okay, the only reason I need her number is because George paired us together for a project that lasts the entire semester.”

“I think you would be happy about that, non?”

“George told me you did this, Gil-”

“I simply made a suggestion-”

“Why are you even fighting about this,” asked John. “You want to be with her, don’t you? Or at least fuck her?”

“Yeah-”

“Then being partners with her and Gil’s bet should be things that make you happy. He seems to be doing most of the work for you, by the way.”

“Yeah, why haven’t you entered the pool,” asked Herc.

“Because it’s childish-”

“Come on, mon petite lion, take a bet and surprise us at how fast you can get in her pants.”

“Um, it’s ‘make a bet,’ Gil-” A wooden spoon hit the back of his head and John promptly cut himself off.

Alex rolled his eyes at his friends. “Fine. I’ll make a bet.”

Herc got out his legal pad and flipped a few pages, then looked up, pen poised over the paper. ��So?”

“Holy shit, how many people have made bets?”

“Around 500 people-”

“What?”

“What’s your bet, Ham?”

Alex grumbled and crossed his arms. “Before the end of our first project.”

“That’s like a few weeks, Lex-”

“Shut up, John.” John held his hands up and walked to the stove to try to steal some of the pancetta Gil was frying before being shooed away.

And Alex’s thoughts returned to you.

“We’re calling the bet off.” Alex dropped his bag on the ground and slumped in a chair at the kitchen table.

“Poor Alex, can’t get into one girl’s pants.” John laughed as he bit into an apple.

“Just because it’s taking longer than half an hour to get her to fuck you, doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Yet.”

Gil glared at Herc and John. “We’re not stopping the bet, Alex. We’ve already got almost two grand in the pot.”

Alex eyes widened and he sat up to look at his friends. “You’re serious?”

“As the plague.” Herc slid his legal pad with the bets on it across the table to Alex.

“Why the fuck is everyone so interested in this?”

John shrugged. “It’s been a long time coming.”

“Literally everyone sees the sexual tension, Ham.” Herc took his legal pad back and started crossing off dates that already happened.

Gil handed him a plate with a chocolatine on it. “What made you want to shut it down?”

Alex sighed and chewed the pastry. “She wouldn’t stop ragging on me. Literally everything I did she had something to say about it. I really think it’s only hate she feels for me-”

“I don’t think so,” said John. “Her best friend’s sister told me Y/N thinks you’re cute.”

“Cute?”

“Well, not in those exact words-”

“That’s one word, John.”

He rolled his eyes. “Apparently Y/N goes home with Angelica on the weekends and they have a cliche sleepover and talk about boys. I’m friends with Angelica’s sister Peggy so she told me.”

Gil leaned against the kitchen counter and looked at John. “What did she say exactly?”

“Peggy told me Y/N said that she’d find him attractive if he weren’t so infuriating all the time. Him being Alex-”

Herc snorted. “Yeah, we got that.”

“I bet she likes you, Alex.” Gil smirked.

“Can we stop with the bets? One is enough.” Alex rubbed his face. “You can keep the bet going but I’m not trying anymore.”

“No. I’m done.”

Alex picked up his bag and went upstairs, trying his best to fall asleep and not dream about you.

The last two nights, Alex hadn’t been able to sleep and tonight was going to be no exception. Last night and the night before, he’d been able to distract himself with work until he passed out from exhaustion around six in the morning. But tonight, he had already read through all of his textbooks and he was finished with every single assignment he could possibly complete except for his Model U.N. project with you.

Which made him think of you.

All night.

Alex’s inner monologue was like a Nicholas Sparks movie had a baby with Valentine’s Day with just a dash of hope.

He liked you. He knew that. And he’d be lying to himself if he didn’t admit it was more than that, but he couldn’t make himself think it or he’d be crushed when you rejected him. Because you hated him.

He sighed and rubbed his eyes before checking the clock on his nightstand.

2:03 AM.

It was going to be a long night and an even longer semester trying to hide his feelings for the girl that hated him.

Alex showed up early to the study room this time, trying to avoid being yelled at again. Yawning, he finished his umpteenth coffee of the day and threw it in the trash can in the corner.

He knew he probably looked like shit. No sleep did that to you. He shouldn’t have cared but he did anyway. Knowing you, you’d probably show up looking gorgeous without even trying.

Alex sighed and pulled up the google doc the both of you had been planning on when you walked in the room.

“You’re late.” He didn’t want to look at you. He’d lose all focus and it’d just be more ammo for future arguments.

“So were you last time.”

Alex finally looked up to try and form an argument but you were wearing his favorite dress of yours and your hair was down, giving him just the smallest peek of your neck and was this what it’s like to be speechless?

You smirked and sat down across from him, saying something he only heard the tail end of.

“…everyone else doing? I assume you know.”

Alex shook his head to get some very embarrassing thoughts out and nervously clicked his pen.

“Well, Russia’s doing Aleppo.”

“You’re kidding me. Do they even know what’s going on in Aleppo?”

He tried to strike up an argument since he utterly failed when you came in. “Do you?”

You glared and began speaking about your plan to help Syria and Alex knew you were going to change the world someday. That you were probably smarter than him, and that he couldn’t deny he was in love with you.

Maybe it was the lack of sleep or that he couldn’t hold it in anymore but what he said next was definitely the most impulsive thing he’d ever done.

“…I could kiss you right now.”

And he definitely did not expect the response he got.

“So what’s stopping you?”

He tried to banter for awhile, but his heart wasn’t in it and he was entirely too distracted by your open invitation to kiss you. And your legs… No one had the right to have legs that enticing.

And then you sat on his lap and his entire mind went blank. The only thing he could do when you asked him for a yes was to nod his head.

He never expected to ever not be fighting with you. He never imagined he’d be this close. Never thought that he’d be able to touch you. And never, ever believed he’d be kissing you.

Which he did. Passionately.

And he’d keep doing that for as long as you’d let him.
