Takes getting used to, the beetle.

The human brain isn't meant to process the amount of data that the perception of the beetle provides. New colors, new senses, and the loss of others.

The beetle is deaf for the frequency at which human speech is spoken in. For him, human speech soundes like muted humming, if not for the scarab translating, Jaime would have been deaf completely. He can sense vibrations and he would be able to tell the direction and distance of a sound, but not actually hear it. All voices sound the same, and he hasn't figured out how to enjoy music again yet, it's difficult to explain.

Sometimes his head starts really hurting and khaji-da can't help him for some reason. Having the armor on helps blunt it a bit. In these moments he understands how much of a permanent thing this is, and it scares him.
