About your comic, I imagine E gadd seeing his two children as babies and immediately adopting a protective role with them, or adopting them, period. I laugh thinking about it.
Excuse my phone's shadow, lol! Idk when I'll include Gadd in the comic itself, but your ask inspired me!

Today's writing thought:
It is a fascinating exercise to have Mario interacting with E. Gadd. Their relationship is really turning out to be slightly (passive-aggressively) antagonistic and oh my, is it interesting to explore that dynamic, especially as the main thing they have in common is Luigi.

The Super Mario Bros. Redux (Pt. 4)
What would happen if, in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, after Mario and Luigi are separated, Mario was the one who ended up in the clutches of Luigi’s eventual arch nemesis, while Luigi teamed up with some of his own close allies to go rescue him?
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
________
Luigi and E. Gadd get off the train at a station in the middle of a massive desert kingdom where the ground is covered in intricate, ancient stonework pathways, and the sky filled with enormous floating pyramids.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Birabuto Kingdom, while bustling, is not quite as crowded as the coastal circuit, so Luigi finds it far easier to keep up with E. Gadd's hurried pace as they move toward a sandstone palace in the center of the city that reaches so far into the sky it overlooks even the floating pyramids.
The whole time they are traveling, neither realize they are being followed at a distance by the ghost dog from the train. Turning invisible and slipping into walls to remain undetected, it seems to be paying close attention to Luigi in particular.
As E. Gadd and Luigi arrive at the doors of the palace they're stopped by two large Gao who, after evaluating the duo, allow Professor Elvin Gadd to enter– as they had been expecting him– but tell Luigi he must wait in the courtyard.
E. Gadd reassures Luigi it shouldn't be long, and enters the castle with The Poltergust on his back and a bunch of paperwork tucked under his arm. Luigi obediently finds a quiet, shady spot in courtyard, and waits.
While waiting, he holds his hat dejectedly in his hands, running his palm over the "L" stitched into the front, when he's startled by a loud bark. He turns, and is terrified to see a little white ghost dog bounding directly toward him.
He fall over backwards in a panic, whimpering in fear, but to his surprise the dog doesn't attack. Instead, it licks his face, then pushes its forehead under his hand in a less-than-subtle demand for affection.
Luigi nervously gives the ghost dog what it wants, then starts scratching the sides of his neck, and eventually can't help but smile as it leans into him in an adoring nuzzle.
"Heh... not so scary for a poltergeist. Not even very scary as far as dogs go. You're just a friendly little pup, aren't you? A silly little polterpup..."
Tumblr media
Just as Luigi seems to be warming up to the ghost dog, it spots his hat and playfully snatches it away, turning to Luigi with a play bow and a wagging tail. Luigi meekly asks the dog to give the hat back, but Polterpup takes that as a cue to initiate a game of chase.
Luigi tries his best to retrieve his stolen hat, but Polterpup proves very good at keepaway. The two bound past the guards into the castle, with Luigi offering a quick "SorryI'llberightback!" over his shoulder.
Pandemonium soon follows. Polterpup's recklessness and Luigi's clumsiness knocks over people and furniture alike as they rush through palace corridors, and Luigi's numerous apologies do nothing to quell the slowly growing swarm of guards chasing after him.
Meanwhile, in a grandiose meeting room, Professor E. Gadd is speaking before The Four Kings of Sarasaland: A great water dragon (King Dragonzamasu), a hovering cloud (King Biokinton), a giant sentient stone head (King Hiyoihoi), and an enormous sphinx-like lion (King Totomesu). The Professor is explaining The Dark Moon, the dangers posed by its absence, the current state of Evershade Valley, and the looming threat of King Boo.
When E. Gadd pulls out blueprints of all the inventions that were destroyed when his lab in Evershade Valley was attacked and starts listing off all the materials he'll need in order to rebuild, King Totomesu silences him.
King Totomesu reminds Professor E. Gadd that he was promised sanctuary and a new place to live, nothing more. E. Gadd tries to insist that he has the knowledge and the tech necessary to nip the ghost invasion in the bud if he only had some help, but all four kings seem to doubt him.
King Hiyoihoi suspects that the ghost invasion isn't as nearly a big of a threat as E. Gadd is making it out to be, stating that Sarasaland can fight off King Boo's forces the same way it has the thousands of other armies that have threatened their lands in centuries past.
King Dragonzamasu reminds E. Gadd that he had a bad habit of losing his inventions– making mention of Bowser Jr.'s Magic Brush– and states they have no intention of funding anything they couldn't trust would stay out of enemy hands. On that same note, King Biokinton comments that King Boo was using Professor E. Gadd's technology– The Portrificationizer– as a means of holding hostages at that very moment.
Overall, the four kings seem to agree that however big the encroaching threat, they didn't quite trust E. Gadd when it came to how he handled his own tech.
That is when Luigi barges in, leaping upon Polterpup and finally retrieving his hat as the ghost dog disappears into the floor. Luigi places his hat back on his head, reveling in a short-lived sense of victory before he is slammed to the ground by roughly a dozen guards while another dozen try to explain the situation to their kings.
Amidst the pandemonium, Professor E. Gadd asks for Luigi's release. The Kings oblige, but not without demanding an explanation. E. Gadd's face slowly brightens as he cobbles together a story: "This is my new assistant! You are right, in my age I've started losing track of things, and that is why I hired Luigi here to take charge of all my new tech! The whipper snapper is strong as he is quick, and a real wiz with The Poltergust!"
The Kings seem skeptical, but can't deny that it's impressive he managed to get so far into the palace before being apprehended. They look Luigi up and down. Luigi stares vacantly back at them like a deer in the headlights.
King Totomesu, noting the man's obvious nervousness, decides to strike a deal: that evening they would hold a match in The Battle Stadium, in which Luigi would wield his Poltergust against Sarasaland's own reigning champion. If he proved himself worthy, they would give Professor E. Gadd everything he requested.
Luigi wrings his newly-recovered green cap in his hands as he tries to come up with an answer based on the little he knew. Looking at The Professor... who seems to sincerely believe in him... and looking down at the hat in his hands and remembering his brother, he ultimately agrees to the king's terms.
Luigi is rethinking the decision by the time he is at The Battle Stadium, being ushered to the arena doors by E. Gadd. Luigi is barely holding it together, shakily insisting that he doesn't know how to fight.
E. Gadd dismisses these fears. He tells Luigi to let the machine do all the fighting, explaining to him the two new features he added (the strobulb and the suction shot), before unceremoniously shoving him through the doors into the bright light of the crowded arena.
When Luigi's eyes adjust he finds himself in an arena more colorful and complicated than any he'd ever seen, full of obstacles and intricate moving parts. A strange turtle creature riding on a cloud holds a camera up to Luigi's face, and next thing he knows his own perplexed stare is repeated across giant screens all around The Battle Stadium.
Tumblr media
As the overstimulation of the new environment wears off, Luigi realizes he's being booed. He nervously pulls his hat over the sides of his face to hide himself from the jeering crowd, and only dares look up when the audience is silenced by the twang of an electric guitar.
The upbeat rock music continues and the crowd's energy shifts, turning from an excited murmur to uproarious applause as a figure bursts onto the scene from the opposite end of the stadium. For a moment, Luigi can't make out more than the flutter of a bright orange dress until the arena screens brighten with a very different face– a bright, beautiful, cheerful, confident face.
"Hi! I'm Daisy!" his opponent declares, striking a victorious pose for the camera as the crowd goes absolutely nuts.

What are the dynamics between Luigi and each of the Koopalings?
Luigi acts as their nanny/guardian so overall he is pretty close to them and they view him as a second parent (although he doesn't realize this). He is going to be very insecure in his relationship with the koopalings, because he was trained in many things and parenting was not one of them.
The breakdown for each koopaling will be below the Keep Reading as it gets a bit long.
Ludwig: He and Luigi used to be very close when Ludwig was younger. Luigi is the main reason he looks towards negotiating with his enemies before fighting. During the comic however, their relationship is going to be very strained. Ludwig is frustrated that Luigi keeps treating him as a child when he wants to get more involved in fighting and running the kingdom. Due to how Luigi grew up he refuses to let any child (or teen) get involved in bigger issues, he wants them to enjoy their childhood and not feel like they have to solve problems adults have created. This obviously creates quite a bit of arguments between the two, with neither willing to budge.
Morton: Also affectionately known as "Little Guy" by Luigi. These two have the most simplistic relationship. Luigi feels a lot of kinship with Morton as he's also a very emotional and sensitive person. Luigi is one of the few who knows that Morton can be quite cunning, but he worries that people will use his big heart against him. Due to this he unintentionally spoils/babies Morton the most. Morton also likes to help Luigi with his gardening.
Roy and Wendy: I'm including these two together, because from what I recall these two were typically conspiring together (especially in Inside Story). These three are thick as thieves, and often times these two will assist Luigi in some of his ploys. Luigi will often confide in these two if things are going wrong, and they need to prepare as he knows they will keep a level head.
For Roy, Luigi will often have to remind Roy that his younger siblings (especially Junior) aren't trying to annoy him on purpose. They're just young, and to appreciate the time he has with them as they could be gone sooner than expected. The two do butt heads on how to respond to situations as Roy just wants to brute force his way while Luigi wants to find a route of least resistance whether this is through negotiating or stealth.
For Wendy, they both share a love/appreciation for fashion and the dramatics. When Luigi is traveling he will often collect jewels to give to Wendy (of course he will get other gifts for the koopalings if he sees anything he thinks they will like). Wendy is the one he asks to watch over the rest of the koopalings when he knows both he and Bowser are going to be out of the picture for a while.
Iggy: Luigi will never understand Iggy's humor, but he does understand Iggy's machines. Luigi is very impressed by his inventions and planning. Although they both share this interest, Luigi struggles to connect with Iggy overall as he often doesn't understand what he is saying or his jokes, but Luigi will always support him unconditionally and tries his best to do just that. Oftentimes Iggy will join Luigi when he is visiting E. Gadd. Originally, Luigi was hesitant about letting Iggy join in his visits as E. Gadd can sometimes be more focused on testing his inventions than the safety of said testers. But once he realized Iggy would sneak along no matter what he figured better supervised than unsupervised.
Larry: Larry really likes to play against Luigi in different sports and competitions and it is very much a struggle for Luigi. Larry doesn't know just how competitive Luigi can get when playing games. Luigi really has to focus on trying to just have fun and relax instead of solely trying to win. They also enjoy cooking together, although a majority of the time it is just Larry burning down the kitchen while Luigi frantically tries to put out the flames. He is very much a troublemaker, but he is Luigi's trouble maker so he can get away with quite a bit.
Lemmy: Lemmy regularly gives Luigi heart attacks with his magic stunts. He is probably the most mischievous out of the group and enjoys playing pranks on Luigi. Luigi enjoys going to Lemmy's circus shows although when a volunteer is needed he will often suggest someone else take the place of the magician's assistant. There have been many times when Bowser, Kamek, or Kammy suddenly finds themselves signed up for Lemmy's circus act instead of Luigi. He loves watching the shows, but not participating as his heart can only take so much.
Junior: Junior is the other koopaling whose relationship with Luigi will also become quite strained during the comic. The other koopalings know Luigi is just their guardian and that one day he won't be there and as much as they don't like it they're old enough to know that is just how it is. Junior on the other hand very much sees Luigi as his second parent and doesn't understand why he can't stay with them. It causes a lot of friction between the two as Luigi knows that he owes it to his family in Brooklyn to go back, but Junior doesn't understand why he can't leave them in the past. In this, Junior is going to be against Bowser's plan to marry Peach as it means if she becomes his mom, then in his eyes Luigi will finally be able to leave them and that is the last thing he wants. In contrast, Luigi wants Junior to have a different parent other than him, not because he doesn't like Junior, or any of the koopalings, he is just worried that he isn't the best for them and he wants to ensure that they get the best even if that means he isn't in the picture.

plagued by the concept of mario and luigis friendship and brotherhood being so strong and consequential that even gadds weird creepy lab made doppelgangers of them feel inexplicably pulled to each other. even as mere figures simply meant to represent the bros, created apart from each other for completely unrelated purposes, neither one can shake the sense that he is half of a pair

i have another AU circling in my head like a rotisserie chicken and have been DYING to tell people about it so HERE WE GO!!! info under the cut :)
i have a sort of demon AU where both smg4 and meggy are once again targeted by winston (i guess that's the name the fandom chose for the TV adware). since both were victims some months ago on separate occasions, winston decides that they aren't done yet and wants to kick 'em around some more.
like with every arc, things start peaceful. domestic. everyone's having fun and whatnot. it slowly starts with smg4 and meggy having strange, vaguely discomforting nightmares in their sleep. they develop headaches and are slightly irritable towards the others. smg4, being the extremely reserved guy he is about his problems, shrugs them off and doesn't tell anybody. meggy, on the other hand, will immediately complain to mario. mario obviously takes this seriously and tries his best to help her and understand what she tells him.
smg3 is the first one to notice smg4's pain and shift of mood. smg4 resists his concerns, but you know. smg3's as stubborn as a mule.
these nightmares become more frequent and worsen with more graphic visions and hallucinations. smg4 still thinks he's fine and meggy is the first to begin cracking under the stress of this. she just left the wild west after wren traumatized the shit out of her. she was psychologically and mentally vulnerable, hence why winston also went for her. they're crazy like that!
both smg4 and meggy complain that they hear static in their heads. it's loud static. neither of them can focus, or think. it's driving them crazy. sometimes they experience flashes of color in their vision. bright, neon colors. it disorients them and makes them dizzy, not to mention causes them migraines. smg3 and mario take them to a hospital. winston eagerly continues watching the show amidst the shadows.
doctors can't figure out their situation. it's a one of a kind to them. they can't help them. they prescribe smg4 and meggy some really strong painkillers, and for a bit it helps. privately, smg3 heads out to pay professor e. gadd a visit. while gadd's strong suit is making inventions for ghosts and other paranormal activity, he agrees that he can make something according to smg3's explanation of smg4 and meggy's situation.
meggy thinks wren is in her head again and quickly loses herself. smg4 tries and tries his best to resist the pain but he eventually can't take it anymore. smg3 and mario take them to e. gadd to give them a full evaluation. he takes their blood pressure, checks their heart rate, yadda yadda. he's a professor but i like to think he doubles as a doctor just because.
their results are... concerning. very concerning. while e. gadd has never heard of something like this before in anybody in the mushroom kingdom, he tries his hardest. he invents something that will aid smg4 and meggy's cognitive triangles. it's like CBT, but without the therapist part. should there be a disturbance, the invention will try to "correct" their cognitive function, aka subdue the hallucinations, aggressive behavior, and paranoia.
for a while things seem hopeful, but winston mustn't be forgotten! they're still here. there's a halt in their progress only because they're so deeply entertained by the situation with e. gadd helping smg4 and meggy. they think it's mildly humorous, perhaps not in a good way. they know they're more powerful than such a pitiful little invention.
just when smg4 and meggy feel like the invention has rid them of their nightmares, extreme irritability, physical pain, etc., he goes all out on them one fateful night. while they're both asleep he torments them, enveloping them with defeaning TV static in their heads and an increased amount of colors flashing before their eyes. meggy sleeps alone at her house so she has nobody to crawl to as she suffers under winston's power. smg4 is immediately rushed to by smg3 and mario, all while he writhes and cries in pain.
then there's the transformation. so simple, how it happens at the snap of winston's fingers. both of their forms are terrifying. meggy escapes her house and into the wilderness. she terrorizes anybody she can get her claws on. almost every member of smg4's gang tries to restrain him as he turns into a horrific, furred beast, and he snarls and snaps at them as they try to hold him down.
strangely, smg4's eyes flicker from his deep blue eyes to a solid image of the standard "no signal" image of TVs. six solid, bright colors, which lack his eyes. it so easily connects to winston's schemes at play.
smg3 and tari find out what's going on immediately.

So while I was at work today I finally figured out how to transition from the setup phase of the Haltmann Meme Guardians AU to the second, more action-packed and properly story focused half of the arc.
Basically, Lag notices that there's some extra, unaccounted-for activity with the SMG commands, and when he asks the System why it didn't report this latest case of the False Positive glitch it insists that it isn't the glitch this time, just the new kids seeing what they can do. Now, that immediately sets off alarm bells in his head, since there isn't a new SMG universe, or even a plan to activate one anytime soon, and considering exactly which universe Lag used to be in charge of he's really not liking where this seems to be going.
He informs the rest of the main Admin group, they investigate, hoping beyond hope that it's not happening in the universe they all know it's going to be, and YEP, there's the newly rebuilt Access Arc sitting right on the edge of the SM64 universe's Solar System, practically marinating in Anti-Meme energy.
Unfortunately, as beings of pure code they can't go down and deal with this themselves. Well, technically they could, but that much Anti-Meme energy in that high a concentration would tear all but the strongest of them to shreds, and even those who could survive that would both be weakened enough to be completely at the mercy of whoever or whatever is in that station, and would need a month-long intensive detox treatment if they managed to get back out alive.
Meanwhile, all the mad scientists in the Mushroom Kingdom have disappeared, which includes Iggy Koopa and Eggman so BJ and Sage are freaking out, and given how the science fair all the way back at the start of the arc went down, not to mention the few times HWC has caused problems for them lately, the Crew does have one suspect in mind. So when the USBs tell them about the extra guardian/Anti-Meme space station thing, there's no doubt in their minds that the two situations are connected. And while the Admins can't directly investigate for the reasons stated above, and the Crew can't either since none of them are any good at subtlety, Mario, 4, Meggy and Saiko happen to know a certain semi-aquatic secret agent who can. And considering who one of the names on the list of missing scientists is, he's probably investigating already and would appreciate the lead.
So Perry infiltrates the new Access Arc while in contact with the Crew, and while he doesn't find everything he does find out some pretty important stuff. Obviously Susie's plan and the fact that her replacement Avatar/Guardian set are in fact children, and the fact that she's been very very exposed to the God Box fragment she ended up with and is absolutely not in her right mind (according to SMG1 it's a miracle that she hasn't turned into an Anti-Meme herself by now, let alone that she's as coherent as she is). But also the presence of Movie Mario, A.S.Swipe and the Salmonids, The Goomba, and a bunch of weird, fully purple Octoling Troopers with rough tentacles that Meggy finds oddly familiar.
There's also the fact that she kidnapped the mad scientists so she could give them front-row seats of her plan in action, partly to make up for how badly her last presentation in front of her peers went but mostly to rub it in E. Gadd's face.
Unfortunately for everyone, she's still missing one last thing to make the plan work; Elanore may be an Avatar, but she's not Super Mario 64's Avatar, and since neither the God Box nor The Goomba know how to fix that, she'll just have to reverse-engineer Mario's code and figure it out herself. To that end, she sends Yoshi to capture him, which manages to work.
With that new problem on top of all the other ones, it's actually Peach who comes up with a plan. Basically, if Haltmann wants a war, they've got one, but it'll be on the good guys' terms. The assorted militaries and superpowered beings of the world all band together, setting up to protect various key places around the globe, mainly the Mushroom Kingdom since that's where all the SMGs live but also various places that either have strategic value or one of the Crew and their extended friend group has some sort of connection to. After those preparations are complete, an armada of all sorts of weaponized space-faring vehicles will launch an assault on the Access Arc, both to force them into conflict before they're ready and provide a distraction for the Crew(plus Kirby since he's taken down an Access Arc before and is reasonably confident he can get through to his currently corrupted friend) to sneak aboard, extract Perry, and rescue Mario and the scientists(and whoever of the bad guys they can manage to get through to).
Melony specifically isn't part of the rescue team since she, Desmond, Steve, Super Sonic, Waluigi in his ultimate form and Ultra Instinct Shaggy, along with a few others, are going to be outside fighting Movie Mario so they don't have to deal with a crazy demon plumber tearing their entire armada apart or getting impatient and killing their Mario before it's safe to.
The kids also aren't going to be in any of the main battles, instead being kept safe in Primp Town...except Sage because she's Literally The Eggnet and the leader of the Eggman Empire in her dad's absence, and is thus in direct control of about a fifth of their side's collective firepower. Don't worry, just because they're not involved in the main conflicts doesn't mean they won't see some action of their own.

The King Arrives - Epilogue
(A few days after ‘Plant Care’ from ‘Hues’ Collection)
Everything felt off.
Everyone was on edge.
Something was wrong.
They don’t have long to fix it.
Fandom: Super Mario & Related Fandoms Rating: Teen and Up Audiences Relationships: Luigi & Mario & Wario (Nintendo) Warnings/Additional Tags: Violence, there is cursing!, fighting ghosts, separation, illusions, here we go!, this is gonna get crazy!
AN's note at the end of the chapter, please read!
Mario was pulled from his deep sleep feeling someone shift next to him. Letting out a groan, attempting to reach up to wipe the sleep from his eyes. Only to find neither arm could move. Another groan escaping him, Mario opened his eyes slowly to find a deep red canopy draped above him.
Wait…canopy?
What…What happened? Where was he?
He tried to move once more, feeling further resistance on both sides. To his right was Peach, fast asleep in a large arm chair. Holding onto Mario’s hand between her own. Brows furrowed as she tightened her grip. Wario sleeping in his own chair nearby.
With half the mystery solved as to why he couldn’t move, Mario turned to his left. Luigi was clinging onto him. Cheek squished against Mario’s shoulder. Arms wrapped tightly around the older brother, snoring softly, the calmest Mario had seen his brother in awhile.
None of this answered his numerous questions.
“Luigi… Hey, Lu…” Mario carefully nudged his shoulder to wake his brother. Who slowly but surely woke up.
“Mmm…M-Mario?” Luigi’s voiced weakly, pulling away to rub his eyes. Only to freeze as realization dawned on him as to who he was talking to.
Mario was a little unprepared to have arms wrapped around him once more. Pulled out of Peach’s hold. Laughing weakly as he hugged Luigi back. “H-Hey Lu.”
“Mario, are you okay?” Luigi pulled away to check his brother over.
“I’m fine! I’m fine. Are you okay? You’re looking a little frantic, what has you ruffled up?” Mario asked. Something white flashing on Luigi, pulling the hero’s attention to the dressing on his brother’s arm and stomach. “What happened? Why are we in the guest room? …Is that a ghost dog?”
Luigi frowned as the list of questions went on. “Uh, yeah, you know Pulterpup. Well, I mean, not really that well, but… Mario, what do you remember from yesterday?”
“What are you talking about?” Mario replied. Laughing softly as Polterpup happily crawled onto his lap. The ghost dog happily takes the pets offered to him by the older brother.
“I’m serious, what do you remember?”
“Um, we came to visit Peach…and I’m assuming we just stayed the night. You still haven’t explained what happened to you. Did we train? …Luigi?” Mario faulted when Luigi grabbed his hands. Worry growing seeing how broken his younger brother looked. “Weegee?”
“You don’t remember.”
“...No, I guess not.”
Luigi leaned back in the bed, eyes down turned as he became lost in his thoughts. Before Mario could pull him back, Luigi let out a deep sigh before looking up to his brother.
And he talked.
About everything.
About how everyone was freaking out, so fearful, apparently because of ghosts that had invaded the castle. How they’d all met Professor E. Gadd and Polterpup, being informed of the horrors that were surrounding them. How they’d been separated. About the Poltergust, Luigi catching his first ghost and Boo.
About King Boo, who he was and where he’d come from. What he’d done, what his plan was. Of Luigi working out a plan and was shocked that he actually succeeded. Of where the large Boo came from.
“And when I got back to the Great Hall, Wario arrived with you and…we were brought here. And…yeah…” Luigi finished weakly, waving his hand. Unsure of what else he could say. Mario looked absolutely stunned at everything just thrown at him. “Mario? …Are you okay?”
The older brother let out a slow sigh before pulling Luigi into a tight hug. The younger brother panicked, feeling Mario shake. “Mario-”
“I-I don’t… I don’t have solid memories… It feels like a living nightmare. Just small moments of… I don’t even know how to describe it… I just remember feeling terrified…” The hero let out a shaky breath.
“M-Mario…” Luigi frowned softly as his brother pulled away. Giving a weak smile as Mario gently cupped his cheeks.
“I may not remember any of it… But I am absolutely proud of you…”
The younger brother let out a weak laugh. “I just wish I could have gotten you back faster. I wish I hadn’t let you go…”
“None of that. Let’s just…” Mario frowned, pulling his brother back into a tight hug. “Thank you for telling me what happened… But I think I’m still a little out of it right now to focus on this…”
“Yeah… That’s fair…”
They didn’t move. At least not right away.
When they did, it was Mario who took the lead. Not to lay down, even though his body desperately begged for sleep. Instead, pressing their forehead together while cupping Luigi’s cheeks. The younger brother gripping onto Mario’s shoulders.
I’m so proud of you.
I’m sorry.
You have nothing to apologize for.
I lost you.
But you got me back.
I shouldn’t have let you go to begin with.
It’s not your fault.
I was so scared.
You were incredibly brave.
I need you to talk to me.
Don’t hide.
We’ll be okay.
This is too much.
Don’t pull away.
We’ll be okay.
We need help.
It’s becoming too much.
What do we do?
Both jumped when the bed dipped down, something warm warped around them. Looking over to find a weary Wario. Who was giving them a quiet ‘Are you okay?’ To which the twins returned with a weak smile and collapsed against the larger form.
We’ll be okay.
_____________________________
Luigi grunted as he dropped the metal case into the vehicle. Wiping his brow before turning to E. Gadd. “Is that all of it?”
“It appears to be.”
“We can’t thank you enough.” Peach said with a smile.
“Think nothing of it my dear. More than happy to help. I’ll keep an eye on everything and report back with what I learn.”
Luigi cleared his throat. “King Boo…are you sure he’s…”
“While my scans do show ‘life’ in the painting, King Boo is not consciously aware of what’s happening around him. Think of it as him merely being asleep, and will remain that way. Nothing to worry about.”
“It would be better if he wasn’t here, period.” Wario commented.
“To true!” E. Gadd agreed, “But we’ll deal with what we have for the moment. Now, before I go.”
Luigi was surprised as the newly fixed Poltergust was dropped in his arms. “W-What?”
“I figured a working souvenir on your adventure would be suitable.”
“B-But don’t you need it?”
E. Gadd waved his hand. “I’m too old to be swinging something like that around. It’s built for youngsters like you. Besides, my brain’s already working on a new design, don’t fret. And one more thing…where did I put that- Oh!”
Luigi yelped and jumped back slightly as a large bag of golden bones was dropped at his feet. Almost crushing one of them.“What are you-”
“Now, they technically don’t eat, but Polterpup does deserve a treat from time to time. They like to explore, so don’t mind if they disappear from time to time. They’ll be able to find their way back home. Oh, and-”
“E. Gadd, what are you talking about?”
The professor gave a small sigh and smiled. “Well, I thought it was obvious. Polterpup wants to stay with you.”
Startled, Luigi looked down to the spectral pup. Who barked back happily. “I- No, I mean, y-you’ll be by yourself.”
“When you’ve been in my work for as long as I have, you learn you’re never really alone. Plus, this is Polterpup’s request, not mine. But I do trust you to look after them.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.” E. Gadd said with a nod, Polterpup barking in agreement.
Luigi felt his heart lift in joy. “I’ll take good care of them.”
“I know you will.” The professor reached out to grip Luigi’s shoulder, giving it a gentle shake. “You did a wonderful job sonny. We’ll make a ghost hunter out of you yet… Now! Don’t be a stranger! You have my number, call me at any time. Trust me. I’ll be awake.”
Hopping into the front, E. Gadd gave one final wave before taking off. All waving and watching as the vehicle disappeared over the horizon.
Luigi winced as Mario lightly elbowed his side. “What?”
“So…you a certified ghost hunter now?” Mario smirked.
“No, nope, absolutely not. I’m putting this on a shelf. I’ll look over at it from time to time and think ‘Huh, that was a terrifying ordeal,’ and move on.”
“I don’t know,” Wario smirked, “You have a new useful skill and a good hunting dog now.”
“Never again.” Luigi whispered.
“Um,” a Toad suddenly spoke up, “So…was anyone else going to say it?”
“Say what?” Peach asked.
“...That E. Gadd is human?”
.
.
.
“WHAT?”
Heavy red doors parted to allow a green skin toned knight wearing silver armor to enter the throne room. Nobles of varying shades of green that lined the hall fell quiet as their eyes followed the new arrival. Said knight approaching the grand throne on the opposite end. Providing a low bow before verbally addressing.
“Queen Bean, I’ve arrived with a report that I believe will interest you greatly.”
Said queen, an imposing being with vivid green skin and tight coiled purple hair, wearing a gown of red, leaned forward upon her throne. Full attention on the knight that stood before her. “What news do you bring?”
“The rumors we’ve heard are true. The Mushroom Kingdom has become the home to two humans.” The hall erupted into frantic whispers, the knight ignoring this and continuing, “They’ve defeated King Bowser twice by their own hands. Further, there are now tales of one being able to defeat an army of ghosts.”
The whispers turned to rumbles of disbelief.
“Further information,” the knight raised his voice to calm the group down, “provided to us say that these humans appear to have the powers of Firebrand and Thunderhand abilities.”
That caused a hush over the hall. The surprised quiet only broken when a hearty laugh echoed. Queen Bean standing, arms wide with a smile filled with joy on her face. “Then our time has arrived! Send word out to Gigi and Merri. They will be sent out as soon as possible to offer their expertise. Prince Peasley!”
Already by the throne’s side, a young being stepped forward. Golden hair, color a perfect match to his bright green skin, flowed freely as he moved. Gloved hand resting comfortably on the hilt of his sword. “Yes, my queen?”
“I will ask of you to act as the royal representative to the BeanBean Kingdom. Keep everyone safe and make strong connections with our new allies.”
“Of course.”
“Excellent. I feel as if a new chapter is beginning.”

Hello all! I would like to take this time to thank you for reading these stories! I didn't think I would be making something like this in my life, nor see the support that I have with it. I can't thank you all who's read, liked, reblogged all my work.
I will note that this collection of 'Yellow, Purple, Red, Green' will be going on a bit of a break. Just to give myself time to start working on the next part.
Meaning this story is the end of Season 1 and Season 2 will start up in about a month-ish. I just want to give myself time to prep as best I can for this.
I will have more stories coming. But for this collection, I just wanted to give heads up.
Thank you all again! I can't thank you enough for all the support.

this isn’t the AU i was supposed to be working on but. i did write a little
(underlord au, some saucy talk)
[]
“Go away,” you say automatically, as the door to your office creaks open.
Dimentio bats the reports from your desk onto the floor like a petulant housecat and slides his way onto the wooden surface before you, stretching out on his back. “I should like to discuss the circular room on the third floor, east wing, labeled only as Coffers.”
“You thinking it needs a fresh coat of paint?” you ask, clicking your pen in annoyance.
You really shouldn’t be surprised at how good Dimentio is at finding places he shouldn’t be at, since it seems to be an innate talent of his. You’ve since given up on the D-Men doing anything useful to keep him herded away from certain corridors; all he has to do is open his mouth and they’re already hopelessly confused.
“Lemme see your hands,” you say.
He unfolds his arms from behind his head and lightly claps each side of your face with his hands. Neither of them are damaged, which means he’s learned a bit of restraint.
“I’m so proud of you… You’ve stopped touching forbidden doors…”
“The Coffers,” he repeats, pulling on your cheeks.
“It’s where the magic is stored,” you confirm blandly.
He grins widely, sitting up in front of you on the desk so he’s looking down at you. “And what happens if I touch the door?”
“Well, you wouldn’t be getting any magic back, that’s for sure.”
He tilts his head. His hands roam as badly as the rest of him.
“You won’t want to touch that, either,” you warn as his touch nears the shard of Jaydes’ crown that you keep behind your right ear.
“Hmm,” he says, pretending to not be interested. The vacant grin never leaves his face. “You’re not very assertive, for a king. How many centuries have you been here, pretending to rule? Aren’t you tired of being nice~?”
“Mostly, I’m just tired.”
You’re starting to consider how far back flipping the desk over on him will put your relationship when the door opens again, this time so aggressively that it bounces on its hinges. Another precarious stack of papers slides off the metal filing cabinets to join the other documents on the floor.
“Go away,” you repeat around Dimentio’s inquisitive fingers, and he jolts.
“A’ight, listen, gonna need a fucking decree or some shit, the people upstairs are driving me—” King Boo stops in the doorway, squinting. “—the hell did I just walk into?”
You pull Dimentio’s fingers out of your mouth and stand up. “Don’t worry about it,” you deflect, picking Dimentio up (again, he hisses and tries to jerk away) and throwing him into your vacated chair. “I need a walk.”
Boo is still squinting at Dimentio like he’s an unpleasant stain on your chair, but he eventually stalks you into the hallway, and you gesture an ‘all good’ at the startled D-Man by the door.
This is pretty normal. King Boo isn’t supposed to come down here, but he does it anyway. Someone becoming a ghost means that they’re locked out of afterlife in either the Underwhere or Overthere. The majority of ghosts can’t cross into either area at all, but Boo is both ridiculously powerful and excels in skirting rules. Still, he’s not invincible—if he stays down here longer than about forty minutes, his spirit starts to unravel.
So, it’s sort of become a thing that every now and then he’ll journey down here to poke you and complain. The more infrequent his visits, the longer he can annoy you, but that time is oddly precious. Again, this is someone you know from your life, and his complaints often serve to update you on the status of the world you left behind.
Of course, you can also make short excursions to the living world, but the need for it is rare.
“How much I need to give you to admit Gadd?” He’s asked you this at least eighty times now, once per visit, but it never gets less amusing.
“No price is high enough.” You chew the inside of your cheek. “Just erase him.”
“Wow, cold! I can’t, though, it’s against my religion.”
“Because he’s a ghost?”
“It’d set a bad example. He’s a—” Boo pulls his face in like he’s eaten something sour. “—a subject.”
You snort at the irony. Professor E. Gadd, who spent much of his life studying ghosts, was so determined to finish his research that he decided to remain in Evershade to haunt alongside them when he passed. You were still alive at the time he went, but you’ve refused to visit him because, really—what a lunatic? He literally died as a desired result of an experiment, not warning you first, and then expected you to react by stuffing his ectoplasm in a test tube. You thought you committed murder and were going to spend the rest of your life behind bars.
You’re only half-surprised to hear of Gadd still being a general menace. You’re whole-surprised that King Boo is referring to him as a member of his kingdom.
“…How’s Polter?” you ask longingly.
“Still sleeping every night on top of your marker.”
Oof. You inhale, chest tight. “He’s not there all the time though, right?”
“Every night,” Boo repeats, flapping his stubby arms emphatically. “The day he’s bugging the rest of us.”
“Good. I told him to keep you in line.”
“Keh. Sucks at it.”
You miss your dog. You’ve gone up a couple times to see him; both times he was, as Boo says, keeping vigil over your gravesite. You can visit again, hopefully, when the Underwhere is done being stupid for a minute.
“The new guy’s a menace, too,” Boo says as the two of you drift aimlessly around the courtyard.
You startle. “Already? There’s a new set?!”
The ghost grimaces at you. “Might not be exactly your replacement,” he admits. “But there’s a new constellation of Star Children, apparently.”
“…And why, what’s he doing?”
“Well, I mean, the new guy’s actually a girl, but.”
“How old is she?”
“Not your type.”
“That’s not why I—”
“And she’s like, I dunno, six? Don’t be creepy.”
You attempt to massage the headache from your temples. “Boo. You don’t remember being six? Everyone is a menace at six years old. I was pulling the tape out of VHS cassettes at six to see if I could read the movies like comic strips.” You fold your arms indignantly and grimace back at him. “…Why the heck are you watching a child? I’m creepy?”
“I just wanted a peek! But she saw me and called me a ‘fat marshmallow dummy.’ So, I’ve decided we’re enemies now.”
You laugh at his pettiness. Some things never change; in that regard, Boo’s visits are always refreshing.
“Anyway, what’s with the arm candy?” he asks, making another unsavory face, and you abruptly choke on your laughter.
“He’s not arm candy,” you say defensively. “I’m trying to seduce him.”
Boo looks like he’s running calculations to determine the correlation between those two defenses and how, exactly, he might be considered wrong. “He already had his fingers in your mouth. Not sure his dick is far off.”
You wince. “No, no. I’m trying to seduce him into companionship.”
“You’re fucking kidding me,” he says, cackling. “Wow.”
“He wants an ‘enemies with benefits’ sort of deal, but I’m not a fan of the ways that could go wrong.”
“I mean, enemies with benefits sounds kinda sexy, though,” Boo says thoughtfully.
“Don’t get any ideas.”
“Don’t worry,” he assures coyly. “The forty-minute limit is kind of a dealbreaker, y’know?”
“Most people could get a lot done in forty minutes,” you say, raising your eyebrows.
“Ha! Ha. Yeah. Shut up. I know I started it, but we’re not discussing this.”
Oh, you are so relieved that your relationship with King Boo is allowed to be weird but will never be that weird. You only have the capacity for one weird relationship at a time.
It isn’t long before Boo runs out of things to run his overlarge mouth about and skips back to his domain. You’re feeling a bit better by the time you get back into the palace. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea leaving Dimentio to his own devices in your personal office with many of the file cabinets still unlocked, but when you arrive back in the room it’s to see the room wholly unbothered and the gremlin in question spinning idly around in your chair.
“Who was that?” he asks.
“Sidechick,” you say flatly.
He frowns at you suspiciously, but since he’s still spinning in the chair you only briefly see it and it loses most of its effect.
You retrieve the avalanche of documents from the floor, though you don’t bother putting them back in order or even entertaining the idea that you might get any more work done. Dropping the uneven stack unceremoniously on top of a filing cabinet, you give him an expectant look. “I’ll take my chair back.”
“No,” he says lightly. “I have decided it’s quite comfortable.”
“You gonna do all my paperwork?”
“May I use your pen~?”
“Absolutely not!” You go to pick him up from the desk chair, but this time instead of merely fighting you after you start moving him, he actually holds onto the armrest so you have a greater deal of trouble uprooting him. It devolves into a childish struggle, with you only caring to lift him enough so that you can slide yourself underneath him into the seat, and regretfully you wind up with him on your lap. This is not optimal.
“Hm, this arrangement works just fine, too,” he decides, worming his hands under your muffler with a self-satisfied sort of smirk.
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh,” you groan, slumping in your chair and looking up at the ceiling. Maybe you should just…let him play? If you stop fighting him, surely he’ll just get bored. Maybe that’s you’re whole problem, and it’ll stop being fun when you stop reacting to it.
Though he’s just doing his ‘job’, really, if he’s insistent on considering himself a jester. If you, in theory, have taken Count Bleck’s spot as the king of Dimentio’s court, then he’ll probably never drop you as a target for poking. Which is fine in its own way, if it means he won’t get bored and leave, but it’s also…
…not quite enough. If you’re already the king, are you allowed to still be greedy?
You take your eyes off the ceiling. His chin is nearly level with yours right now, though he’s more interested in skating his fingernails all over your chest through your open collar than making eye contact. The expanding scars on his face are even more concerning this close up. You could just…heal it without asking. Save yourself the trouble of getting him to agree to it. But, well, that might be too personal. It’s not your place.
But his face is also really close, and that’s pretty personal, too. And you’d barely have to tilt your chin. Barely have to move just a little bit forward. And—
You must have been moving without really thinking about it, because he’s off your lap in a flash and across the room, on the other side of your desk. The ill-fated stack of papers, again, unstacks itself all over the rug.
You blink. Now, wait a hot second. “Get back here, you flighty bastard—”
“What do you think you’re doing?” he demands, looking rattled. “You—”
“Kiss me on the lips.”
“What?” he scoffs incredulously. “No.”
He glares at you. You glare back.
“Agent Jones,” you call, leaning forward to rest your elbows on the desk. “Do you copy?”
“Wh—”
The D-Man stationed outside your office steps unsurely into the doorway. “Uh, am I Jones?”
“Where’s your nametag, agent?”
He looks at you for a moment, patting the spot on his jacket where a nametag might be, even though you never actually had any made.
“…I’m Jones,” he decides boldly, saluting and turning toward a befuddled Dimentio. “You’ve refused to kiss His Majesty on the lips. I will now escort you from the premises.” Then he starts strong-arming him out into the hallway. You make a mental note to slip this minion an extra vacation day under the table.
“Excuse me?!” Dimentio blusters, unhappily being dragged. “What is the meaning—?”
“Kiss me on the lips, you coward!” you yell into the hallway after him.
“I’LL NEVER DO IT!” he bellows.
“Then writhe in futility!”
He shouts something sounding like maybe half a dozen curse words mangled together, and then a door slams shut. In the resulting quiet, you try to focus on the few reports that remain desk-side, but for a solid portion of time you cannot stop being frustrated, and somehow you end up with a dozen or so origami flowers all over the desk.

Underground
In The Pipes-
Luigi's Mansion. A fun idea, at least for us. But imagine being in the game as it happens, watching all this activity happen in front of you, and somehow not go insane! This was the case for a while, at least, for Toad and Luigi, with only each other to talk to about what happened. However, at some point, while in E. Gadds lab, something snapped inside of both of them, and they rushed to the nearest pipe system, the largest in the kingdom. Over time, people began to disappear... First Toads, then koopas, then even some higher ups... Peach and Bowser both ordered all activity in the pipes to stop until they find out what is going on. And due to some Piranha Plants acting strange, they followed the trail of plants to find Luigi and the Toad from the mansion, both seeming to hold the power of the ghosts. Bones all around them, it seems that the stay in the mansion made them weak, and the bit of King Boo left had taken hold, just a bit. They fled, and since, people have still went missing, and sometimes some creatures can be seen moving through the old pipe system... and they seem hungry.

Hell's Sun-
Everyone remembers SMB3, the level with the angry sun especially. That sun was the bane of most players existence... And the sun knew it. But of course, the sun was too angry to care about right or wrong. So when someone made it mad again and again, it almost blew up... Only to begin emitting so much heat, anything on the surface died in seconds all over the world, with the exception of beasts like Bowser, who are made for the heat. Those who could get underground rushed, even Bowser did, as he didn't want the heat. Mario did not make it... Neither did the princess. But Luigi and Bowser did. They established a network of underground tunnels, as below ground was still the same temperature. They found many other survivors of this living hell and made villages, using Bowsers strength and Luigi's smarts. Overtime, it was realized that those who died in the sun would be brought back... in a zombified, melted state, trying to bring any they can into the sun. This was first discovered in the southern settlement, with the biggest cave opening. The first priority now is to stop the sun... Before hell breaks lose underground as well.

Groundshaker-
We all know the classic plan for Bowser, kidnap the princess, rule the world. However, this was not the original plan. On one extremely early copy of Super Mario Bros 1, we can see the original plan. At first, he was an underground beast, using POW blocks to shake and crack the world. Mario was a miner, fighting to stop the Earthquakes. They would fight, and most of the time, Bowser would win, shaking the Earth so much he would toss Mario out of the pit. Whenever the cartridge is put in, they continue where they left off to the movement, and over the years, the world in the Mushroom Kingdom has been so ruined that nothing besides the two mortal enemies live here, Bowser and Mario, power up followed by power up. One day, when the fight ends, maybe the dust will settle... Ultra M found them when hopping around one day, and was able to easily get in control of Bowser, due to his mind being nothing but battle...

Unless you're one of those people who insist a person's first love is their forever love, Kamek is probably old enough for every ship to be possible in his life time- pending headcanon, of course. I've seen a poll go around recently where some people write off kamek and kammy as lovers and some write them as siblings, but you get the idea! Someone comes up with a kamek/gadd or kamek/toadsworth crack ship and I'm like, "yeah, he's probably dated both at some point and they probably still have tea while thinking back on it"
I think I was a Naval/Kamek shipper for maybe 20 years. started out as a joke with friends and sometimes i still make gag comics on that while also making it a part of immortal fool. I think people associating that ship with me just encouraged me even more- like that's my most notable contribution to the Mario fandom. Many times when my friends play Tetris Attack with me and I pick Naval as my main, my friends would choose Kamek, almost instinctively.
But never will I insist that's the only ship I like or attempt to gatekeep any shipping. I think I was originally afraid to officially ship them in the comic so I wrote them off as being obnoxiously attached to one another but neither made any attempts to ask the other out in the decades they knew each other. That was essentially my HC for the games as well and normally i keep normal HCs and iFool canons seperate.
I have so much to say about his ships in my comic, but... another day.

ESCAFLOWNE Voice meme (5/5)
[ Escaflowne voice meme made by @drkstars-art ]
PART 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
------------------
6. What would you like to see in a figurative remake/sequel? Would you include more minor characters? Would you want a whole new story that could be a stand alone?
Honestly, I'm clearly not in "remake/sequel" things. (Most of the time, it ruins the universe or doesn't bring anything relevant to the story.) I really love the series as it is (despite elements I see as flaws) and it's clear for me it wasn't made to have a sequel. Now, if creators wished to do a remake or a sequel, I would watch it because I love the universe. But I don't ask or wait for it.
7. Movie, Series, Game, or Manga preference? What are things you did/didn't like of each?
I definitively prefer the Series : Because I love different themes through out the story, the characters, their development. The production always moves me. - I never played the game but I saw animated cut scenes. I've never really been in it. - I read Shonen manga once but I didn't like it. Mainly because I didn't feel empathy for characters. - About Shojo manga : I read it many years ago but it was so short... No real opinion on it. It didn't hit my mind. - The Movie... Well, I'm a bit conflicted about it... I love the design. Some scenes are just stunning (first sequence, Van vs Dilandau...) but I never bought in characters, neither in the story. I think my main problem is the movie is so short and full of characters that I don't have the time to really feel something for them/with them. I love loneliness and depression themes in it. But again, I don't know why, I didn't empathize for characters... So, it's quite difficult to enjoy the movie this way...
8. Recite your top five [least] characters by name.
Argh, it's so hard to choose ! ... I would say...
    [ TOP 5 favourite ]
1) Van I already explained why in part 2/5. 2) Dryden Mainly because he is a human library, curious and funny ! An excellent travel and knowledge partner ! I love the company of this type of person. At first, I would have been quite suspicious about him. But he is so interesting and surprinsingly pleasant that I would definitively stay in his surroundings.   3) Gaddes Because he is reliable, calm and so pleasant ! 4) Mahad / Balgus I cheat - I know - but I love strong and kind men, with a great sense of duty and honor. 5) Folken Even if I don't always understand him. Beyond his cold appearance, he is warm and moving. I would love to hang out someone like him and learn about him, having deep meaningful discussions with him. He inspires me so much interest and tenderness. > No girls !? But I really appreciate Millerna and Hitomi too... I also love Merle, even if I find her quite annoying sometimes. But she is such a good, loving, smart and courageous girl !
        [ TOP 5 least favourite ]
I would say : 1) Zaibach Sorcerers 2) Meiden Fassa 3) Grava Aston 4) Dilandau 5) Dornkirk

do you have any thoughts on powerups/how the bros use them?
You have no idea what you have just unleashed, anon. :D I am super into world-building and lore when it comes to Mario stuff, so here's a random list of ideas that may or may not bear fruit for anyone who reads this. (Also, part of this is me sketching out concepts for solus creatura, so I thank my followers in advance for their patience here).
The vegetable/fruit/foliage powerups are naturally occurring. The Mushroom Kingdom has the most fertile conditions for these plants to grow, although other kingdoms have done a decent enough job of genetically engineering their own powerup plants.
This makes the powerups an integral part of the Mushroom Kingdom economy, and one of the reasons they're able to survive so long without any real standing army or defense system outside of Mario and Luigi. It's also one of the reasons they get invaded so often.
The Darklands, centuries before Bowser's reign, used to also cultivate powerups. They were overfarmed by a corrupt agricultural council, however, and in combination with a once-in-a-lifetime drought, the vast majority of their land and crop was ruined.
Luckily for the Darklands, their native species is capable of fire and they still retain a strong tradition of magical culture through the Magikoopas (although this was briefly wiped out during Bowser's father's reign, as he thought the Magikoopas were planning a coup. They, in fact, were, but for good reasons).
Now, the Mushroom Kingdom is wary of magic, due their own history and complicated relationship with the Darklands (this may be in part linked to an old civil war that caused the split between the Mushroom Kingdom and the Darklands). Their species is also just not that magically adept (something having to do with Toad physiognomy?) The powerups are a decent compromise - they afford magic-like abilities without rendering their user permanently superpowered.
There was some contention in the royal court when Mario and Luigi first arrived in terms of allowing them access to the powerups. Ultimately, it was decided the safety of the kingdom would supersede any worries about abuse of power. (This being said, Peach had to argue long and hard for this).
Mario and Luigi receive a monthly allotment of powerups and if they find any "in the wild," they're supposed to record each instance. Neither brother bothers with this and every month they get a nasty letter from Porcina in accounting, which has led to a years-long feud between her and Mario. Luigi has learned the better way to circumvent the system is bribery by brownie. It usually, although not always, works.
The non-vegetative powerups are created in Mushroom Kingdom labs. Because the Mushroom Kingdom is like a Times Square Station for warp-pipe travel, the dimensional crossroads makes it easier to cross-pollinate powerups with characteristics of other species and lands (cats, penguins, etc.)
Back in the day, E. Gadd was involved with a lot of this research, but ultimately left to pursue his own interests in the paranormal. It's also rumored that he and the governing scientific committee at the time had a spat about the limits of experimental ethics.
When Mario and Luigi are first introduced to the powerups, they think this is the coolest thing in the world. They have powers, which was an impossibility back in New York.
It takes them a while to get the hang of using the powerups. Mario set fire to a Mushroom Kingdom stable one time. Luigi crash landed into someone's wedding as a kitsune. The citizens, by and large, were relatively forgiving of these incidents, although it did make for a wild few days in the press.
At first, Mario and Luigi both love the fireball ability. That is, until the events of Super Paper Mario, after which they go a solid few months without coming NEAR a fireflower. Mario can't help flashback to that terrible moment in Merlon's house while Luigi experiences the oddest phantom pains if he as much holds a fireflower, although he can't say why exactly. (Mario, of course, has no idea Luigi was boxed and bombed twice by Dimentio).
Luigi loves flying and may steal a few extra Tanooki leaves to go out and experiment with aeronautics/aviation concepts in the dead of the night. This, subconsciously, directly influences his Brobot designs in his time as Mr. L.
Mario's favorite powerup is the classic mushroom. Finally, he gets to be as tall or taller than his younger brother.
They both think the Invincibility Star is incredible until they're faced with a situation in which the invincibility wears off at a dangerous moment, which almost turned fatal for Mario. It's a sobering moment, and brothers learn the lesson that no one is invincible forever.
The Mushroom Kingdom allows Mario and Luigi to use the powerups under the assumption that the "magic," as it were, never lasts. What they don't know, however, is that Luigi has a strange penchant for magic, which is why on more than one occasion, the effects of the powerups take longer to wear off on him. (One day, Luigi shows up to meet his brother looking a little...furrier than usual. "You look hairy, bro," Mario says, furrowing his brow. "I'm Italian." Mario rolls his eyes at his brother's quip. "Not that Italian. What, did you forget to shave again?" Luigi just shrugs, not wanting to admit this isn't the first time he's woken up with more hair than he's used to).
They tease each other mercilessly when they are introduced to some of the animalistic powerups. Luigi puts a litter box in his brother's room and buys him a collar with the name tag, "Fluffy." Mario cooks Luigi fish for five days straight after the penguin incident. He also starts singing the "Walk Like a Penguin" jingle every time his brother comes into the room.

(SA)
"Pepa where is Felix?" Alma asked staring down at her human looking daughter confused when she came to visit but didn't see her son-in-law anywhere nearby. Which was strange since he rarely ever left his wife's side when she was pregnant or had just given birth...or at all really.
"Who?" Pepa asked confused as she looked up at her mother even as she nursed Antonio, the newest little Toad in the family.
Alma's face dropped. That bright light. The way it caused most of her and Pedro's subjects to have amnesia. It also spread this far and effected her daughter and son-in-law. She was afraid of that.
Pedro was going to be so upset when he confronted Agustin only to realize that the green clad plumber didn't remember his Bomb Queen wife and their three baby bombs.
"It seems that bright flash effected you two as well. Come on Pepa. You'll come stay with me for a while as we figure everything out." Alma said sighing as she scooped up her daughter and you get grandson. She wondered where her other two little Toads were. She hoped they were safe with Felix. She'd send out Koopas to find them since she couldn't sense them in the castle.
That brought a horrifying thought to Alma. Did Pepa remember her two older children? If she did why wasn't she worried about them being missing?
"We should leave a note for Dolores and Camilo. They were with Toadworth when I came here to check something out and went into labor." Pepa said perfectly happy to snuggle into her mother. That made Alma relax a little. She did remember her two older children and they were with someone who was trustworthy and would keep them safe.
Alma nodded and left a note for Toadworth on where they went when he would no doubt come looking for the Princess.
Then she took Pepa and her new grandson back to her castle but kept her eyes peeled. She hadn't found Bruno yet and she was hoping he still had his memories.
Miles away Bruno cursed under his breath as he found his brother in law's. His glasses had shielded him from the bright light but he had seen it's effect on the rest of his family aside from his parents.
Now he had to get his brother in law's back to his sisters and their children hopefully in one piece.
And he knew just how. Talking of the ruler of Koopa Kingdom, 'Bowser' seemed a good fake name, taking the Princess of Peach kingdom would send Felix running for the nearest castle for information.
And telling Agustin about a Bomb who was terrorizing a certain pathway would send him off to find her.
Bruno hoped that neither of them did something they regretted.
UWAHHHHHHH ☹️☹️☹️
When the bright light renders 95% of your family and entire kingdom with amnesia <//333 No but seriously. How. What kind of light is that 💀💀 did it give them a mini stroke or something, it’s a strobe light???
Anyway, Pedro being just as lost 👹👹
————
Pedro was confused. His son-in-law had just left his mansion after his own son came by saying something about a bomb “terrorizing” a path…he could only assume that was Julieta; which was strange, because Julieta was far too kind and didn’t really use her bomb abilities without a valid reason.
He thought back to his encounter with Agustín after that bright flash rushed across his kingdom, causing his own Boos to not recognize his son in law and attempt to attack him. Could that light have something to do with it?
Pedro stared down from a distance at Agustín who was talking to E. Gadd. One of who might have been one of Pedro’s greatest enemies and one of the most wanted humans in his kingdom. He had been banned long ago, and it still baffled Pedro how that old geezer was still living.
“So basically Ghosts are in the mansion, possibly kidnapped and killed your brother Fèlix, and I need you to take care of them!” E. Gadd said, as if he didn’t just dump all of this onto Agustín.
Wait…what? Kidnapped and killed Fèlix? No, that’s not true! In fact, Pedro knew Fèlix wasn’t in his mansion, it was just him, his ghosts and gloops, and that one ghost family that hung out and haunted the place every so often—the point being, Agustín knew this! Why was he listening to that senile old man?
“Dispose of the ghost? Can you kill, what is already dead?” Agustín said, shivering at the thought. “E. Gadd I wonder.” E. Gadd stared at Agustín weirdly before backing away.
“O…okay Agustín. Well, good luck!” With that, E. Gadd left Agustín to his own devices, leaving off to some part of the mansion. Pedro would take care of him later, but for now he need to figure out why Agustín was here with that cursed ghost catching machine, and without Julieta or his kids no less.
Pedro finally came down, making himself fully apparent, and tapped Agustín on the shoulder. The man shrieked, spinning around and pointing the machine on his back at him.
“Y-You! Where’s mi hermano?!” Agustín said, ushering at Lesro, who gave him a confused look.
“Huh? Agustín it’s me…Pedro? Julieta’s papa?” Pedro said obviously. “I heard your conversation and I came to tell you that Fèlix isn’t here, he should be with Pepa.”
Agustín shook his head, backing up a bit. “I…I don’t know who any of those people are besides Fèlix, but you better back up, or I’ll use this on you!”
Agustín? Not remembering Julieta? Impossible. She was his pride and joy, there’s no way…unless…
“What about Isabela! Or Luisa and Mirabel? What about them?” Pedro moved a bit closed to Agustín, who still back up. It was strange to him, because by this point, Agustín had gotten at least somewhat used to Pedro, and only got scared by him occasionally.
“I don’t know who those people are!” Agustín yelled.
Pedro’s face scrunched up in confusion. What? He loved his daughters far too much. His loved his wife too much. Something was very wrong. Maybe he should ask Alma if she knew anything about this; then he would pay a visit to his eldest daughter and see if she and her niñas were alright.

welcome
read in order of posted
context on why this blog exists
so I was inspired by @/profbastard ’s castlevania luigi au, which brought upon me the desire to draw some vampire!lugi: however my fluffy tastes had the couple of doodles quickly grow into a handful of sketchy comic strips that no longer really fit into @/profbastard ‘s au
luigi got attacked by a vampire while doing important luigi ghostbusting and E gadd’s errands type things: the details arent important really
neither are the details of the kind of universe this is taking place in: the au I was inspired by took place in the smash brothers universe: so I’d hate to confine myself to NOT draw sonic here at some point
As one can imagine: being vampirized is probably mildly traumatic and a pretty major life changing experience: thankfully Luigi has very good friends to support him~ !

It’s noteworthy that Gadde herself was appointed by the Biden administration to an advisory board role to help shape the Department of Homeland Security’s “misinformation and disinformation policy” as it attempted to form a group behind closed doors. Though it appears at this time that neither US intelligence services, nor the Biden campaign coordinated with Twitter to block the Hunter Biden laptop story, Gadde’s proximity to the Biden administration itself post-controversy cannot be ignored.
