Portrait of Iris Cleft (1961) by Robert Rauschenberg
Robert Rauschenberg was invited to take part in an exhibit celebrating Iris Cleft in which 41 artist would create portraits of her. Rauschenberg, who was in Sweden for the installation of another exhibit, apparently forgot to make the portrait as promised. At the last minute he sent the above telegram for inclusion in the show.
