I feel like one of the reasons I love Dream so much even in the comics when I was younger is because of his misunderstandings of humans. He is so often seen as a jerk, but people keep forgetting that he literally is not human. The reason I love this and his interactions so much I was diagnosed pretty late in life, but I am on the spectrum so Dream as a flawed non-human character struggling through human interaction was something I related to. There’s something I love so very deeply about a character who struggles so much to do something most people find so simple. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone. I know obviously that I am not an endless being, but Dream genuinely not understanding people is something so deeply relatable to me. I remember reading the comic when I was younger and relating to him. I relate more each time I’ve read it. @neil-gaiman I’m sure that’s not necessarily what you meant to do, but your writings in general and Sandman specifically have meant so so very much to me. I live in a very small area and I was very strange in comparison to others. You, your characters, your books, Dream all made me feel like I wasn’t alone in my most lonely and darkest times and I cannot thank you enough.
Anyways I did a painting of the Corinthian

after sandman they should def adapt nightmare country bc 1. I miss my husband (the corinthian) 2. the visuals would be such a colorful and campy contrast from the main sandman series and 3. it's so dark and spooky and queer I love it (not that the sandman isn't but yk what I mean)
