informal flaviane coining post because i keep forgetting lol

flaviane is like, an inviane subterm for when your gender/allion/etc simply is a flag, and that flag can be anything. like country flags, identity flags, ship flags, etc, the identity doesn't have to relate to what the flag means it just has to relate to the flag itself

flaviane terms don't have their own flag due to their nature but could definitely have a symbol! if anyone's willing to make one go on ahead and tag me or reblog this :> (note; don't put the flaviane symbol on a flag to make it that flag's flaviane flag - that makes a flag lol /lh)

the individual terms don't really have to exist, but it could be something like [flag name]flaviane or flavi[flag name]

the umbrella term stuff would be like flavigender/genderflaviane, flaviallion/allionflaviane, flavivesil/vesilflaviane, etc!

if anyone wants to flesh anything out go on ahead :> if this gains enough traction i'm willing to make a carrd for it

ive seen a lot of people saying that certain things don't need pride flags and i wanna talk about why

things like anxiety pride flags being reblogged with or commented on with "i don't get pride from my anxiety", "this doesn't need a pride flag, these don't fix anything. bad post op", "news flash! not everything needs a flag! jesus fuck" "i have anxiety and i'm 1000000% sure that people who have anxiety aren't proud of it! and it ruined many years of my life! so fuck you!"

and, i totally get that. sometimes people aren't proud of something because it makes their life worse. but for some, it helps them cope. for some, it's part of who they are, and pride flags give us a way to express that

and especially in liom circles, pride flags aren't always about pride as in "i am who i am and i'm proud of it". sometimes they're more about "this is who i am, and this is what i experience, and this is a part of my identity"

for me, it's a mixture of both. me identifying with and using pride flags for my disorders and mental health conditions and things of that nature is my way of fighting ableism on a small scale. it's the same reason i make jokes about my anxiety

i'm disabled and i'm depressed and i have tons of anxiety and i'm selectively mute and i'm proud of it because it's part of me and i can't control it. and i'm oppressed because of it all the time. and that's fucked up, and so i take pride in it.

it's okay to not be prideful in your disorders and/or mental health. but it isn't okay to tell others they can't be.

I tried to make it vauge on porpose so it could fit a variety of experiences-

The examples were also based on the photos- Angels and radioactivity are pretty obvious, while zombies are based on mummies who are often burued with honey and spores are inspired by the fact honey can contain Botulism causing spores, which is why it shouldn't be given to anyone under 1 year old!
