K: Yeah, but Hanshin hardley ever do stuff like that.

K: If I had to say, they are the type to not do that...I mean, they started doing it a bit before, but hardley ever now. Other teams are much more advanced with this stuff.

J: Which teams?

K: Like, Yokohama.

T: Yeah, and Manager Okada was saying that kind of thing takes too long.

K: Yeah, if you do it every time, it gets disruptive.

J: Ahh, I see. So Okada thinks that doing some kind of performance or show whenever anything eventful happens will disrupt the flow of the game. Uh, ok, so I have a very basic question, but..

J: Ehhh?! What position are Hanshin in at the moment?

K: Top spot.

K: But...but I was saying last month that they were too strong, right?

J: Yes. Have they remained that way since then?

K: They went down to 2nd place for a while yesterday. They got chased.

T: The interleage games have been a bit sketchy.

Also, holy heck in a handbasket. Why are you also not an EBG participant? I've seen you on a couple blogs, notably, Meirin's and Dresvi's, and I really enjoy your shenanigans.

I like how you take things in unexpected directions. I thought the whole idea of bringing the Adepti in as players in Meirin's blog was such an amazing choice. You have a lot of talent in writing different sorts of characters, and I like it a lot.

I also like how you can find a way into blog arcs. With the way you write, you're flexible enough to push the writers on the other end just enough to get them to open up into the lore they have. I remember you pushing Elzer in Dresvi's blog just enough to drop little tidbits about the general lore and the fire situation that's apparently going on in there.

Also, do not get me started on how entertaining it is to watch you start up shenanigans in Meirin's tea house. It's so much fun to read your shenanigans.

I never know what I'm gonna get when I see you as an asker, and that makes it fun.

Like with Risu, I hope that you do end up being an EBG participant. I'm honestly amazed by how much mastery you have for different character voices. But even if you don't, it's been fun watching you cause a lot of fun shenanigans. I hope you continue to cause all the chaos.

There's only one day left, so I look forward to seeing what other shenanigans you get up to.

But it's so much fun! It's so fun to RP, to share silly little headcanons and ideas, to express your love and happiness for characters, and share that supporting others too and making them happy! Anyway wow I got sappy. Point is, I do hope to kind of... introduce myself/my OC and be a little more "me" about my bias if that makes sense? because that is what the ebg is all about (I think?) that funny and weird "hey this person who loves X character is now forced to get out of their comfort zone and simp for Z instead lmao"

DJ's Diary - 5/30/24

Not for any particular reason, I decided I want to start keeping a diary on my tumblr blog for fun and posterity's sake. You can read it if you want, but feel free to block out the tag if you don't wanna see it. I'll probably only post one every now and again so don't worry about it clogging up your dash lol. You can also interact with the post if you feel like it; I don't mind comments.

My mood: melancholy

What have I been up to?

Sewing, mainly. I have a "job" (more of an internship/apprenticeship with tip money) at a local handmade store where I help create all kinds of things--most of them textile related. We've been busy to hell and back with graduation season orders, like ribbon leis and stoles and whatnot. They can be fun to work on, but I'm definitely looking forward to doing some new crafts once the season changes over... and I've really gotta pay more attention to my own projects to sell cause I'm seriously strapped for cash. I have an idea for a hoodie I might make tonight, so hopefully that pans out well enough. Anyway, I need to give a little context before the next bit here. The way that the store works (I don't wanna give its actual name so I'll use the nickname "Jamaica" from here on) is like this: there's one owner who makes most of the stuff on sale, and anything else is made by local creators who have come in and agreed to give 50% of the sale to the store. A few of these artists have been working with my boss--whom I'll nickname "Kay"--for several years now and some of them drop by the shop to say hi or volunteer some work. I'm one of the artists, and so is this guy who drops in about 4 times a week: a middle aged graffiti artist who goes by Nate1. Side note: If Nate1 sounds like a password that a 14 year old boy would come up with, that's because it was. He told me himself that he came up with it as a placeholder when he was first tagging as a teenager. Then it just caught on and now he's stuck with it. We all just call him Nate, though. And no, this is not his actual name. Nate's been telling me lately that I should be focusing on creating more of a "brand" for myself instead of creating things all willy-nilly. I know that his clothing line does well, mostly by reproducing hoodies and other merch with a couple of his selected best designs, but I honestly can't imagine doing the kinda stuff for myself. I specialize mostly in upcycling random jackets that I come across in thrift stores. He gets all his stuff professionally printed with really high quality materials. Plus, he has a degree in design! I'm too broke to be a college student; fuck, I barely had enough money the other day to buy myself a meal from panda express. He has good ideas about how to make art into profit, but I'm literally just too poor to follow in his footsteps. I'm not even sure if textile is something I want to pursue forever or if it's just something I'm doing right now to just barely pay for a stupid $8 coffee each day because my poverty stress keeps fueling my caffeine addiction. I have so many passions. It doesn't quite sit right with me that I might have to pick one of them to the detriment of all the others. That said, I guess I'm gonna have to pick something soon if I don't want to go homeless... Well, in other news, I've also been watching Trigun '98 for the third time with my twin brother. It's nice to finally have some time in the evening to relax with him; it's been a real rarity in the last year or so. We just got up to the episode where Wolfwood is introduced last night. He seems mostly unimpressed, but I get the feeling that the guy will grow on him with time.

Read your post about spirit keeping. Thank you!!! Someone has got to say it! Buying spirits is unethical!

Buying a person/entity/spirit/any sentient pragmatically never sounds right no matter how someone tries to spin it.

I mean, the whole idea is supposedly trapping/binding someone to an object and selling them for some stranger to take interest and buy them -- leaving it up to the imagination of how bad or good it can go.

I find the whole concept sad when I also see a scenario when an up and coming "spirit keeper" say, "My demon/angel/jinn came in the mail today!" I find the whole concept just depressing if a spirit is sold to play the role as your friend/parent figure/lover, etc. I find it also creepy when someone sells a presumed spirit for wealth, power, and sex -- and it attracts a certain individual to that "product."

It can also be a parasite who sells this idea to an unsuspecting conjuror and it ends up in someone's life doing heaven knows what.

...

...Or, they're talking to no one and it's all a scam.

NOW, the only thing I can agree with is helping someone introduce themselves, and helping on discerning a spirit/entity that stepped forward upon request for a companion to work with...then seeing where it goes with healthy boundaries and solid house rules.

I like to tell people: spirit work is like meetup.com -- not Ebay. (Which ironically is where a lot of them do that kind of stuff too)

I would highly suggest you look into my other posts about my thoughts about spirit keeping covering more on this.

Take it with a grain of salt. ----- That is NOT what binding is. It is not simply giving someone your phone number, as it was lightly put. Binding is the practice of tethering someone's energy to an item in ties with that person or to the person directly themselves. It is King Solomon style of "connecting" with spirits. Binding can also a very intimate action that requires one-on-one consent with time and lots of effort. It's like a marriage if you want to see it that way.

I do understand that there are a few hearted conjurors who may have utilized this method to do the job of using money for the vetting process, but it is never necessary to bind a spirit to a stranger or to an item, and expect/demand complacency and a bond because you spent good money for it.

The classic spirit keeping scenario still paints as an example of someone snatching a bird from its habitat and putting it in a cage and "finding it a good home for someone."

I think of the scene of Finding Nemo where the human abducted Nemo and claimed he "saved him," and tried to give the fish away to an irresponsible owner.

I personally never seen a seller discern the person's energy whom they're giving the spirit to either. They just take the money and give it to then without a thought, and I've seen so many cases of people abusing the spirit/entity, or the person's life crumble down due to the spirit/entity enacting revenge. I always encourage people to please not bind a spirit to anything or anyone, because that's not what binding is. ... I recommend these as good starting points if you're interested, and these are just few examples. -Make offerings, but make sure you aren't being pushed to always give something and not have anything in return. -Go outside your house and see your local spirits. One or two might want to connect with you and be attracted to your energy and personality. -Ask for god(s) or a powerful entity/spirit for protection as you ask for a spirit/entity to step through and seek companionship on their own will. (You can repeat this process with different spirits that you feel that's coming through, you don't have to settle with the first spirit/entity but make sure you thank them for coming after a few moments of introduction. I recommend meditating first. --- If these sound underwhelming or less grandiose to you, then maybe reconsider and reevaluate what you really want in the connection. NOW, if a spirit wants to bind with you off the bat, exercise caution -- that'll be for your safety. Some are strong enough to wield power over your energy. ... Another thing is "matching." I hardly find that true -- so why are they still advertising the spirit on what you're getting. You want a "vampire lord?" You can just search it up on the search box and find your "best match." You want a faerie because you personally love and are hyper fixated on faeries? Filter the search box again and "find your best match." Maybe you can say you feel pinged to their energy and all that, but please, exercise pragmatic approaches too. If I see a seller who sells the service of you filling out an application and taking the time to find the right companion for you instead and see whoever comes out? I might say that's much better, but it takes a lot of vetting on your part to discern what the conjuror picks for you too and hoping it's not going to be a toxic relationship. There's also always that mentioned emphasis on what is safe for the person in question who owns a spirit, but never the context of the spirit who's also needs safety in connection with certain people. We can wield as much harm to some of these spirits/entities as they can harm us. Keep that in mind.

Wilan hails from a small island off the coast of La Noscea. Fate had other plans for the fledgling adventurer, however. Hydaelyn chose Wilan as her Champion, her Warrior of Light, and he's been slowly buckling under the growing weight of the many responsibilties placed on his shoulders.

Born from an affair between a desert elf and a human woman, the mixed-race child has been unwanted by her human family ever since she was born, her very presence an uncomfortable reminder of her mother's infidelity. She ran away from home in her teens, around the time she started to develop her magic powers from her elven bloodline, met a similarly outcast half-orc girl and turned to a life of delinquency for a while under the destructive influence of her companion. But in the end she came into her own thanks to her found family, who accepted her for who she was and taught her a better way to be herself, and she blossomed into a bright and cheerful young woman.

Hoshiko

The encounter awakened something in Nora, that once channeled manifested a whip of lightning and command over lightning, earning her the title of Daughter of the Storm.

hello @kerasines! don't worry, what i said was not based on anything official by any means, it is more based on 'vibes' i've been getting, having been tuned in from the first episode.

the things that are of the greatest concern are:

the period of very heated tension mid-season between the original novel writers and the production company, and some perceived animosity between the writers and certain members of the cast. a lot of it was due to fans bringing attention to videos in which one half of the writing duo sexually harrassed multiple members of the cast and even cast members calling her out on it, on video. at this time Pond had said something like 'we may have done all we can with the source material'?? (don't quote me on that) and contractually they can't go forward with a season 2 without the writers' endorsement and involvement. however they now seem to be on good enough terms because the writers were at the Bangkok concerts? who knows!

the loudest and most active fans online are overwhelmingly entitled, demanding, aggressive, and detached, and harangue the production company (Be On Cloud) with the wildest opinions, conspiracy theories, and general noise. in person, large groups of fans have swarmed the cast both at work events and in their personal time, and there have been multiple instances of fans tailing cast members/trying to follow them home and other terrifying intrusive behaviors (why hasn't BOC hired bodyguards yet?), leading Be On Cloud to issue multiple warnings to fans. this is definitely a 'me' thing, but if i was in any of the actors' shoes i don't think i could handle another year of that and would probably tap out.

it seems like some entity was trying dig into all the cast members' social media histories to find controversial content. some truly upsetting things were found, apologies were made, you know how it goes. but it left a lot of fans hurt and unhappy.

i am very dubious about the financial wellbeing of Be On Cloud on its own. Even with their many many sponsorships, the production quality standards are sky high and I don't see how they could possibly have made enough of a profit off the show by itself to keep going. My theory is that they introduced the world tour as a way to generate income, and the fate of a season 2 might rest on how successful it is. I also have a theory that a lot of the recent big spends for the company have come straight out of Mile's pocket, who doesn't seem to have any qualms about personally funding the company and keeping it alive so that he can keep doing the stuff he wants to do and making the stuff he wants to make (you know, gay stuff).

the way BOC just announced that they're having 'global auditions' for the new Be On Cloud project - "Join us and become one of the cast members for our upcoming series together with other Be On Cloud’s actors." The wording to me sounds like its not KPS2 that they're casting for, and the vibe is sort of like…'hey we're moving on.'

a lot of the actors posted social media messages after the finale that read like goodbyes to their characters. I got the impression that they are all operating like this is the end.

there are some things that give me hope, though!

there is absolutely no doubt that IQIYI is begging for a second season. It pretty much stayed at #1 for its entire run and continues to chart high even after the finale. every business that BOC collaborated with for the series like Farmhouse all saw huge returns on their investments (that Farmhouse bread was sold out everywhere for a hot minute)

social media engagement was through the roof and only increased as the series went on. i'm sure BOC knows that if they go forward with a S2, it will produce exceptional viewership again, so thats one uncertainty that they can eliminate from the equation. they have an audience that desperately wants more.

when it comes to merchandise, ticket sales, and events, they have literally always sold out. any magazine that features any of the BOC actors always have enormous runs to meet higher-than-average demand.

if we're lucky, maybe Mile will say fuck it and fund a whole 'nother season

hello 2024!!! goodbye (and good riddance) 2023!!!

2023 was... not the kindest year to me. I struggled a lot (like. A LOT) with grad school, had trouble taking care of myself (thanks depression), had to deal with some very unpleasant people, and had a lot of health issues in my family. overall, not a fun time!

but in the spirit of moving forward and not being overly pessimistic, i have to admit there are good things that happened in 2023 as well. at the end of the year it was decided i could move on with my phd project as i wanted to (a miracle!!). i got to go to my first ever out-of-state conference, which took me to the west coast for the first time! 2024 was also the first time i had consistently been going to the gym for about a month (i stopped but. it happened!!) i had a lot of laughs with mariel (ty for introducing me to detco 🙏 and thank you for indulging the gamer in me) 💕💕💕 i got to meet a lot of wonderful people and now i actually have friends i get to? play games with? just like i always wanted? at the end of the year i also found a vtuber i've really been vibing with and he's in line with one of my main goals for 2024: living more purposefully

spent the last few days of 2023 constantly doing errands... i don't wanna step into a supermarket for a while!!! also got to go to one of my favorite botanical gardens again with my parents. it was really calming and honestly, i really needed to spend some time in nature just breathing fresh air 🌱🌷🌵 i also got to try french onion soup 🧅 for the first time ever and AAA it was so good??? my mom put some bread and gruyere cheese on top and it was just such a good warm, salty broth that re-energized me!! i'd like to have it again soon if the weather keeps staying as cool as it is hehe

2024 is gonna be a big year for me, which is pretty scary ngl! i have to get important milestones done for grad school so i can graduate in a year. i'm also going to be a TA for the first time every and i would be lying if i wasn't extremely nervous about it- i literally don't even remember the content for one of the courses 😵‍💫 i also turn 26 meaning i will soon be off my dad's insurance lmfao so i have to get all my health stuff in order before then (ripping my hair out at the idea of scheduling my wisdom tooth removal)............. anyway...........

i'm really stressed as the beginning of the semester is almost here (5 days ough.) but i wanna end this post by focusing on some goals for this year!! like i said, i want to live more purposefully and true to myself this year. this means engaging with things more deeply and focusing my efforts on what i truly like (clothes, media, hobbies, etc). i wanna make grand strides in my academic work but also in my personal life! i wanna become more active this year, start cooking more, make sure to read more, use my notion.... i wanna create! i need to get back into needle felting and i started a csp trial yesterday so i'm gonna give art a try too! a big big biiiig goal for me is to finally set up my neocities too >< i got some ideas for what i'd like to do with it brewing in my head hehe

and that's it for now i think!! i want to make public journal entries like this frequently because some of the coolest people i know online do it and honestly? it's fun!!! ✌️

Comic Beginning

I wanna play around with the opening a bit more- I think rather than it just being an "odd day unlike any other", I was debating on adding a funeral as well. Tbh I got the idea from a dnd dms idea thing- so I wanna try working further with that concept.

The difficult part as of right now is figuring out who died and why? Who's all at the funeral? What do they say and how do these things fit into the story?

Although I doubt I'll find any or all of those answers- let alone actually use any of it for the finished product. However I've been watching a lot of Hawaii 50 along with spooky stuff with Halloween coming to an end. (happy sahiem everyone!<3)

My story takes place in a very small mountain/forest kind of town, with a population probably no more than 20-30 people living there when it's not summer time- so because of that, I wonder if the funeral should be for the old major of the town?

Honestly that could help out a lot of parts with the story. It'd be an easy way to introduce the whole town, explain what kind of major he was and what kind of town they're living in, and I'm pretty sure a whole small town like that is in morning for their major would be.. pretty different so it still fits with my original opening.

Possibly the old major had some enemies within the town? They could be at the funeral or could be the whole reason the old major died in the first place. Regardless- I feel like the new replacement major would be there immediately. Probably play up a lot of their own drama with it in hopes of reaching out to the community and even win along the way. I would say that the new major killed the old one so that he could move into office faster but I don't think I wanna go with that because I've been seeing that a lot within my tv shows n I'd like to do something a lil more interesting for my personal story.

The Old Major = a absolutely old fart who didn't really have an idea of what was going on but he was helpful to strangers and neighbors when he could, a very old fashioned man, stubborn and sometimes mistaken as rude or pure brain dead. it's a mixed bag through out the town on if he's liked, hated, loved or tolerated. regardless he kept the small town running and moving forward as the major for over 40 years. not everybody agreed with him but most people respected him. kids liked to pick on him of course.

The New Major = at the funeral, his dramatic theater acts made him quite suspicious with the town people- not to mention that he's from the city and doesn't know a whole lot of people or much of anything for that matter. he's just a small guy in a suit fresh out of collage from New York, based off of his clean look- he seems gay. he is gay. very gay. however the new major eventually proves himself to the town because he becomes an active member of the community, eventually got to know everybody and began making big improvements on the town as it gets repaired, refurbished, cleaned and slightly expanded. when spooky things start to happen later on within the story, he ends up being very helpful with the magic, spooky, and mysterious goings on. he just wants to be a good major and be there for the people he leads with a rainbow streak.

That's all I really have for right now so I suppose I'll expand onto this more later but again- I'm not sure about any of this really lol

However I feel like I'm making a lot of progress with it and hopefully this'll end up being a comic! This def by far he longest I've worked on a writing/drawing/comic book type of project! Granted I don't think anybody actually reads/looks at my posts but just posting the story stuff and sharing into the void really helps me stay on track with this and reminds me to work on it more rather than a google doc and I'm just really proud of myself <3

Appreciation Post (Vocaloid, SynthV)

Hey. I'm 'bout to get a little...*sentimental*, hahaaaaa.... I'm sure nobody will read this, but this is my first true post that I have ever made on this account that isn't a reblog, and I'm making this for one reason. As you can see from the Touhou and Super paper Mario stuff I reblog, These have been my two main interests for the entire time that I had this account. I've known Touhou for about 9 years now (2014), and Super Paper Mario for almost 5 years (2018). There are also other interests that I've had besides those two, but I never showed them on this account, One of them being the main thing that this post is about!

Out of all the interests I've had, Vocaloid is the one that goes back the farthest, all the way back in 2012! I would be in the third grade when I would've discovered Vocaloid! I was really impressed by the artistry on display with every single song I came across, even when I couldn't understand the lyrics of, like, 50% of the songs I listened to. However, I would say that I would've stopped being an active fan some time in 2019 or 2020, (probably because Touhou Project had practically taken over my brain lol) and I considered Vocaloid as being a phase. Something that definitely took a huge chunk of my life, but, ultimately, couldn't stand the test of time.

That is, until the Big Dog came along, and my new passion, SynthV.

Now, I've known SynthV prior to this year. I first got introduced to SynthV with Eleanor Forte. Everyone was talking about how she had "such an amazing voice" and how she was "so clear!", but I just couldn't see it (or hear it lollolol). I thought she sounded like just another English Vocaloid, and I never really like how they sound in the first place. However, this was a few years ago, and that story is *different*.

Fast forward to This year, not even a week ago, I listened to a cover made with Kasane Teto's new SynthV voicebank for the very first time. Now, I did hear a lot of buzz that surrounded her about a month prior, but I didn't know, or even care for, what it was about, but because I was a huge fan of Vocaloid, it also made me a fan of UTAU by proxy, so, of course, I knew who Kasane Teto is, as well as her infamous voice. I had no Idea what I was truly in for, or even that this was a new Teto. I caught a whiff before, and now, I had a taste of Teto, and it was at this point that I finally get it!

This new Teto sounded like something that I would never, in a million years, could imagine would come from her, and I was blown away! It was so...heavenly. This choppy, robotic UTAU voice of hers has been made into something of higher quality, and I could not be any happier. This was something that I have been wanting from Voice synthesizers for the longest time, and I never thought we were gonna get it anytime soon. Even with all that I was learning and getting to know about the new her, I was still not prepared for the fact that she could sing in three different languages, with the proficiency of native speakers...I could not handle it. My heart could not take it...! I WAS IN LOOOVVE~~~ Love that I have never felt for a voice since Gahata Meiji, my literal favorite UTAUloid of all time, and the closest thing I had to having a crush on something as a kid (lol)

I could not believe that Vocal Synthesizing technology has advanced to the point that all of this is now possible. Because of Teto, I have now fully delved into the world of SynthV, and I can never go back. I found so many other voices that I have fallen in love with, like I did Teto. SynthV has impressed me so much, that it even got me back into Voice Synthesizers as a whole! This is now a Resurgence period of Vocaloid, and I have SynthV to thank for that! I would also like to thank Dreamtonics for making this possible, and for making my dream come true! (okay but seriously if dreamtonics sees this by any chance I am so sorry for the pun it's just- **cries**) This reignited one of my oldest interest, and I am so happy. I really hope somebody out there reads this and can share these same sentiments I have right now...

This is the first time I've rlly heard about Riku since I followed you, what's his deal? :0 would you mind telling me a little bit about him?

HELLO THERE YES ABSOLUTELY I WILL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT MY BOY!!!!

Ok so this is the first ask I ever answered about him and it is a semi good summary of his plot but a lot has happened since then (it was over a year ago) so I'll go over it again here for convenience. This predictably got long af so it's under a read more.

Also if you want any more random bits of info you can find it by searching for "riku kirijo" on my blog (or on Tumblr itself he has his own tag 💀)! I make random little fact posts about him so there's more info in those. You'll also probably find my older art for him for his previous design, but the last art piece I did is his design as of now and probably won't be changed cause I'm super happy with it. Also if you look under "oc tag" or "au tag" I tag some random posts with those if I think they fit the au (it's usually silly jokes and stuff).

Basically Riku is my Persona 5 OC and he's the eldest (and only) son of Yukari and Mitsuru from P3 (I'm sure you know by now I'm a massive Yukamitsu fan but if not now you do 💀). Now obvs there's not enough of a time gap in canon for this to be possible so the gap in this AU is about 30 years, I haven't worked that part out yet. He also has one sister (Yuna).

Riku's story starts really about two years before the events of P5 (btw I mean Royal but I'm just gonna refer to it as P5 cause I'm lazy). Basically he was feeling very lonely, had a hard time making friends and felt he needed to step out of his moms shadows. So he decides to move to Tokyo to get a chance to live out on his own and have a change of scenery. Because he's only 14/15 at the time he can't live on his own and for reasons I'll go into another time, his moms can't come with him. So enter Chiyoko Hatanaka, one of Mitsuru's high ranking staff who offers to become Riku's guardian of sorts while he's in Tokyo. Mitsuru agrees and Riku moves to Tokyo with her enrolling in Kosei High (he's in the same class as Yusuke and Hifumi).

However a few months after they moved, Hatanaka starts to drop her nice act and reveals her true colors and starts abusing Riku (both physically and mentally). I won't reveal the reason why as that's a huge spoiler and I plan on doing something with this story eventually. Riku doesn't tell anyone ofc because he's too scared (Hatanaka has some serious dirt on the Kirijo Group which she uses to blackmail him). So Mitsuru and Yukari have no idea this is happening but have noticed weird changes in his behavior whenever he comes home to visit.

Fast forward to just after Madarame's Palace and Yusuke mentions to the thieves that there's someone he'd like to look into - Hatanaka. He and Riku had this kind of mutual understanding of what was happening to them but never really acknowledged it (they didn't know how - I planning on going into more detail another time). The thieves agree after they see her name on the Phansite (anonymous request from Riku himself). At the TV station the shujin trio actually meet Riku (he's there because Yukari or Mitsuru are giving an interview idk yet). He introduces himself after telling some creep hitting on Ann to fuck off and he's very chatty and kind UNTIL Hatanaka shows up when he becomes super quiet. The thieves are like huh that's weird we should look into this chick for sure. So they do and ofc she has a Palace.

They start investigating and they find out her palace is at her and Riku's apartment (more of a penthouse) and the keyword is Studio. The palace is called "The Studio of Arrogance" and is modeled after a TV station. Riku accidentally gets dragged in and captured by Hatanaka's goons. The thieves find Hatanaka interrogating a chained up Riku where she reveals a few things (again spoilers) and torments him. He has enough, breaks free of his chains and then BOOM Persona time.

His persona is Pimpernel, the titular character in the book The Scarlet Pimpernel. He specializes in Physical and Aqua (Water element from P2) attacks and his best stat is speed (easily the fastest thief).

Riku and the thieves fight off against her goons, and escape to a safe room where they tell Riku everything. Riku also wants to change Hatanaka's heart so he teams up with the thieves with his code name being "Noble". I have a WIP of his phantom thief outfit and Pimpernel so I won't say much about the design for now (purple Flynn rider that's the best mini description I can give 💀)

After they've beaten Hatanaka's palace and changed her heart successfully the rest of the story is pretty much the same but with Riku in it. Mitsuru, Yukari and Yuna also play big roles because the three of them move to Tokyo to stay with Riku after they find out about the abuse. They each have their own background arc too but aside from Mitsuru I don't really have any ideas for them yet (even Mitsuru's is a concept idea).

And that's pretty much his story for now at least! If there's anything specific you want to know please ask because I will literally sit here for hours and rant about him <3

Hi ! I've been getting into Dreamcatcher lately since everyone's been saying if you're a lesbian you're gonna like dreamcatcher, and i do ! i was just wondering from someone who obvs knows them better, do you think they're naturally so close to each other or it could be a bit more... fan service stuff bc I'm always worried about getting into groups who just queerbait all the time, idk how to say this and im not trying to attack DC but there's been a lot of talk abt it in kpop lately

I get where you’re coming from, but with time you’ll see that they’re genuinely close

dc have gone through a lot as a group (some of the members have been together for abt 8/9 years now), specially the ex-minx members (jiu, sua, siyeon, yoohyeon, dami) who had to overcome an unsuccessful debut and decide to stick together despite a rough start. there’s a lot in the member’s own story that makes you wonder if there really isn’t a force in the world out there who brought them together because so much happened, to some members more than others, that literally put them right on the path to become a dreamcatcher member. it just had to be the seven of them.

for starters, yoohyeon auditioned for a few companies and mbk accepted her. she went the first day and quit that same day because of how she was treated by the staff. she said that from that experience she wanted to quit on the idea of becoming an idol, but she really loved to dance and sing. which led her to meet sua at a dance competition before they auditioned for hfe. sua had been training to become an idol since 2012 and hfe was the one company who accepted her (I can’t imagine sleeping on that much talent). this led them to debut together and even become roomates.

siyeon had a close songwriter friend who introduced her to the company, she auditioned and got in. similarly, jiu’s vocal teacher referred her to the company, she auditioned and got in as well. as for dami she had wanted to become an idol since elementary school, one day she participated in an open audition at her school and hfe called her for an audition.

with gahyeon, she actually went through a few companies before landing on hfe. she was an fnc traineed for a while, she got in both yg and sm, but left since they weren’t going to debut a group any time soon. similar to dami she participated in an open audition at her school and she got called for an audition.

and handong had some interest in kpop when she was in high school, but when she got the chance to go to korea for university her dad made her promise she wouldn’t try to become an idol, it was literally The condition for her to go to korea, she wasn’t meant to audition according to her parents will. but one of her uni teachers told her about hfe’s audition and she just went for it anyway asdkjhs (her relationship with her parents is fine now). it was just meant to be.

they’ve also mentioned quite a few times that they didn’t just instantly click with each other like that (some members having a cold impression of sua at first, siyeon admitting it took her quite some time to get close with handong, jiu saying she was skeptical about the adittion of handong and gahyeon but soon realised they made the group stronger), they worked on their relationship over time and they wanted to make things work with each other which itself is really important and shows the kind of loving and supportive enviroment they wanted to build for each other (I go a little bit more in depth about their overall story in this post). they’ve made sure to build a really great sense of teamwork with each other since the beginning, from the fact that they had about 2/3 months to prepare for dc’s debut (minx still performed on october 2016 and dc debuted january 2017) alone, they really had to make a conscious choice about it all. honestly one of the things that makes me sure that dc are close is that they don’t hide the negative feelings they sometimes have towards each other (which are normal), they've spoken a few times about silly things that they’ve argued about and have even mentioned that they don’t get the other members involved in the quarrels they’re having with another member to not create more drama than necessary. but you can really see that they love and take of each other in the little things too, not just the (sometimes) fanservice. and by this I mean things like, sua calling handong in the middle of her vlive to go get food for her, dami letting yoohyeon sleep in her bed and going to the living room because she didn’t want to wake her up, siyeon falling asleep on top of yoohyeon and yoohyeon not having the heart to wake her up as well, among many many many things.

but truly they’ve gone through a lot of hardships over the years, including having a member be away and unable to participate in comebacks and group schedules for a whole year (not because of health issues or anything like that, but because of the covid situation that made it impossible for her to fly back to korea), and they got out of that situation being even more appreciative of that member when it could’ve easily been something that could have made them turn on each other. it was a situation that brought them even closer and appreciative of one another. they really want to be on this path together.

as for the queerbaiting bit, I’ve made posts about this before and as I’ve said, it doesn’t matter whether or not it’s fanservice because at the end of the day they’re respectful and caring, and they’re only normalising same sex attraction. they never make you feel gross for that attraction either, they’ve never pulled a ‘no home though’ moment, they continuously sing songs directed at female lovers without changing the pronouns, continuously accept marriage proposals from their female fans, and even when a fan was dubious and said “but we’re two girls” jiu said that it didn’t matter and that love is love, and they’ve said many times that it’s okay for female fans to be nervous around them (aka attracted to them).

and not that it’s anyone’s business but the members themselves have dropped many hints over the years, from not specifying the gender of their ideal type

“Dreamcatcher Handong, “even if they’re not good-looking, a warm-hearted person is my ideal type.” “My idea type, erm... a warm-hearted person. A person not necessarily need to be good-looking, if they’re warm-hearted they’re a good person” ©

Handong: For me, firstly, kind. It would be great if the person has a good personality and is tall.

Gahyeon: For me, because I’m still young I don’t have a definite ideal type. Just someone who smiles prettily and is fun. Ah, if the person has a good voice, it will be good. I like to talk on the phone. ©

Jiu: I wish to have someone I can chat non-stop with, and who is also knowledgable and has a good character. I’ve never really thought about an ideal date, but what’s most important is that the atmosphere has to be comfortable!

Yoohyeon: My ideal type is someone who’s like Peter Pan, someone fun-loving and positive! My ideal date location would be Paris, France. It’s a really romantic city! Really look forward to spending time there with the one I love.
