Chrysanthemums - a vow or promise

Peter gently squeezed Tony's hands, where he held them in his between them. They were facing each other, the rest of the world fading into nothing. Tony's vows had nearly sent Peter into hysterics (he was already weepy after reciting the standard to have and to hold bit while they exchanged rings), but he knew he had to keep it together in order to get through his own. He took a deep breath, and began:

"Tony, you are the most incredible man I have ever met. You're smart, caring, generous, funny, and most importantly, you love me just as much as I love you. You've never let me doubt just how much I mean to you, and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together making sure you know just how much you mean to me."

Tony's eyes were misted over, and Peter gave his hands another squeeze.

The officiant cleared their throat and then spoke loudly for the mic to pick up. "And with that, by the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you married."

Peter couldn't stop smiling into the kisses Tony kept pressing against his lips.

2. Do you set mini-deadlines or goals for yourself along the way?

I tend to do this but in a very haphazard way! It doesn't look the same for each project. Sometimes I'll go for a long stretch where I succeed in writing every day, but how much it'll be (one scene! / one section of outline! / 300 words! / 500 words! / 1,766 words!) will definitely vary over time.

I do wish I could project-manage my writing (I can't project-manage anything tbh). My current WIP isn't for a deadline but I still don't want it to take forever. I'm about to write to a deadline and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be very annoying in the writing group chat about it.

3. How old is your WIP now?

As an idea, about five months. As a collection of words on a screen that never existed before I put them there, maybe two months.

7. What does your creative routine look like?

A lot of this depends on what is going on with my health, my work life, and my home life. When all of those are optimal, I like to write in the early morning: maybe at home before kids wake up, maybe at work before my coworkers come in. If I have a day off I try to do an hour in kind of the middle of the day, although it's hard to predict which times that might be "write for 60 minutes" and which "write for 30 minutes" and which "research and vibe for 59 minutes and then feel despair." Other parameters allowing, I will often (but not routinely) write at night after kid bedtime as well.

Lately I sprint with others on discord while writing.

I like to drink ignore a coffee or a diet coke while writing. I usually have some kind of ignorable background sound, which could be anything from a playlist to mynoise.net (which is flipping invaluable).

My routine also involves a very very very fair bit of shouting in the group chat to psych myself up for creativity. I couldn't get a single thing done without my coterie.
