my toxic trait is that I keep buying the same plant over and over and every time it dies and every time I go hey maybe it'll be different this time when I see one in a store
I give you spring water every three weeks, you don't have mushrooms or insects, I repotted you in a terracotta pot and special soil, what more do you want from me

Hello! I have some gifts, succulents handpicked for the winners personally :>
Grian, You get a Pacific Opal because it made me think of you
Scott, with so many pretty succulents, I decided on the White Stonecrop Succulent as its colorful and pretty
Pearl, the Scarlet Witch, i give thee an Sunyan Succulent because its super pretty and the color will definitely make it stand out among the other winner’s succulents the same way you do to me (As you are one of my favorites). But I feel its also fitting that I give you the “Ghost Plant Mother Of Pearl” because of its name.
Martyn, You get the Zebra Succulent as its spikey and not the most friendliest looking succulent and it grows like WILDFIRE.
Scar, I couldnt decide which of these 3 to give you so theyre all in a pair. My Favorite, The Bear Paw, The Panda Paw, and The Fang succulents. Theyre all fuzzy and fun-shaped. I actually own a Bear Paw, His name is Nick.
Oki Bye :> ~UvieNova
(Am I a crazy plant lady, yes. Yes i am)
Scott: Guess we have a first plant for the garden, I actually know this one so it shouldn't be hard to take care of it.
Scar: They got me 3! Do you think you can add 2 of them to the garden? I already put the third in therapists Scars.
Scott: Sure?
Grian: I mean I have one too so we could plant it as well.
~~~~~
Martyn: What am I supposed to do with this?
Pearl: I am going to put this one in my room near the window, if you don't want to keep it in yours just give it to Scott for his garden.
Saturday 14th March 2019 & Sunday 22nd March 2020
I got these for my birthday last year from my best friend. Even though things have changed a lot in this past year, I'm grateful that I still have these wonderful plants. It's a little difficult to tell how much they've grown since they've become so much less compact. Although I have taken cuttings from both of them. Love these fuzzy beauties. I think I'm going to snippy snip Poe (my panda plant) after seeing how neat it used to look.
Flyhigh, can you tell me more about your succulents?
Flyhigh flicked his wings, gesturing at the collection he kept in the corner of his, Fulcrum and Surefire’s room.
“There isn’t much to say.” Flyhigh’s voice was soft, as he looked over the plants. “I just try to make them look nice, so they aren’t a bother.”
He had several shelves of succulents, most potted with several of their own species, but others in arrangements.
Each pot was uniquely hand-painted — pale succulents had dark pots that made them pop, and brighter-colored ones had pastel or white pots to give the optics a place of rest. It made a lovely display, pots arranged to be as pleasing to the optic as possible.
“I painted their pots, because they deserve it. They have names, if you look close.” He tapped a dark pot with a silver name written on the side, in Kaonite characters. “Everyone has their own name, unless I don’t plan to keep them.”
They didn’t take up much space in the room, being isolated to a few shelves, but they certainly had a presence.
“The zwartko and panda plants are my favorites,” he said, gesturing first to a dark purple succulent, and then to a pale green fuzzy one with dark spots. “Though, the bear paws are nice, too. This one’s named Ling-Ling.” He held up a potted succulent with chubby, fuzzy leaves shaped like paws. “These ones have little hands, it’s very nice. When they flower, the flower’s between the paws, like they’re giving it to you.”
^ each of these are about 3 weeks apart, some changes are quite noticeable
this, however, is just a week difference. echeveria Perle von nürnberg is quite light hungry and apparently quite dramatic given how quickly the rosette closed up!
English red and turquoise blue, please? 😊
english red; what animal do you relate to most?
cats, don't know if it's because i am like a cat or bc I WANT TO BE like a cat, but there is definitely kinship there hahaha
turquoise blue; if you could start a garden, what would you plant?
so many succulents 👀👀👀✨✨ my favorites are the panda plant and bear paws!! ALSO during quarantine i grew 2 avocado babies and that's my biggest achievement of 2020, so those would be in the garden too.
Hey plantblr! I bought a bears paw today and one of the leaves fell off on my way home. After some convos with succulent people on Facebook I have been enlightened by the fact that you can propagate bears paw quite easy with just the tip in water!
I'm honestly quite amazed, it's supposed to be near I possible. So I'm trying it with panda plant and bears paw :)
A Story and a question
Today, I went to Home Depot and wanted to look at some of the succulents. I started finding some propagations and carried them with me. I had a clay pot and put them in there. Most of the succulents weren't in the best of conditions.
One succulent was out of it's pot (I ended up taking that one with me) and a different one had grey mold on it's stem. I thought it was something like a Bear Paw succulent or a Panda succulent.
I quarantined it as soon as I could. ("Quarantined" as in put it on the other side of the isle)
The one I eventually settled on had another succulent that I didn't really recognize at first but remembered that there were pots of it labeled as "California Sunset".
I ended up paying more than I thought I should have. The succulent? It was valued (by the store) closer to those pots that are like 4", maybe even 5". It was the size of one that is around 2" and placed with them too. (I did ask if I could have the propagations and the succulent without a pot and the cashier let me to keep them.) I checked on the pot and there was nothing like, "Propagation is prohibited", "Do not reproduce", or anything like that. I was too stunned by the price to ask why it was so high until I got home.
"Okay," I hear you say, "but it was in better condition that all the others, right?"
No. I thought it was.
Like half of the base was black and limp. There were two of the same succulent in the pot and the other was just stuck in the soil, no roots. As soon as I got home, I took the plants out of the pot (sorry forgot to take a picture) and removed as much of the black part as I could, and stuck the good parts in some water.
This is my first time trying water therapy. I'm not too worried about overwatering my succulents since I test the soil with wooden skewers.
My question is can water therapy help the succulents grow roots without an enzyme?
I'll edit this later to add a picture if it's needed.
So the Indoor Sun Shoppe in Fremont is amazing! Great variety at reasonable prices. I wanted everything, even saw some pickle plants that I sadly had to pass up on.
The staff gets extra points for being friendly and helpful without hovering or being pushy, even though I dithered in their succulent section forever. And how neat are their carnivorous plants??
Also of note: they're dog friendly, which is extra awesome and two paws up!
I wound up leaving with a panda plant and a cool little sedum. And when I got home I realized there was a different succulent prop laying in one of the pots! It looks like it has good roots going, so we'll see if it takes 👍
If you're in Seattle I highly recommend paying this place a visit, it's great!!
