I am the real owner of Eeyore. I started a crowdfunding fundraiser for support for my cat's major dental exam to determine if he had cancer or not and Eeyore-pg stole my post and reposted it on Tumblr using their paypal account instead of mine. I have reported their post to Tumblr - please don't donate to this person! They are scammers.

My original post is on Facebook in a group called Vet Corner Angels: Emergency Funding - search for the name Eeyore and you will see it in case anyone needs verification.

I had to take my cat Kalma on an emergency visit to the vet yesterday (and a follow-up appointment this morning).

He's okay, very disgruntled by the medication he's on right now and that he's not allowed wet food, that I have to wipe his butt, etc, but as you know, vet visits are pricy, not to mention emergency ones, even after insurance. So to help with that I'm posting about my commissions!

If you have some money to spare and like my art, hit me up for a commission and I'll draw you your fav characters or your OCs. Even the tiniest bit helps. Started yesterday morning with him waking me up by puking blood, ended with most of the day at the vet. He was so patient when they poked and prodded him but lost his temper when he had to eat a whole lot of this white goop called kontrast (in swedish, I don't know ow the English name for it) for the followup x-ray this morning.

Do you know the-stucked-pan personally? I’d suggest asking them to write their name on a piece of paper and place it on the cat and then take a picture. The blog is only a day old and their PayPal has been seen across multiple accounts that turned out to be a scammer. I’d be suspicious of a day old account asking me to answer their ask privately.

Ah! I did not notice that. I should have checked before reblogging. Another person I follow closely reblogged it, so I made the assumption that it was another close mutual of theirs. @theidioticcowboy If the blog is only a day or so old, I would assume it could be a scam then! Always double check. My bad! If that person is in fact not a scammer I wish the best for them and their pet. I have not donated...

They’ve now conned people out of $130 so please share this post to bring awareness that their post is a scam post. (Link removed as the account deactivated.)

The blog is a scammer. They don’t own Elvira and here is how I know. The PayPal address their using isn’t the one owned by the actual owner. The real owner isn’t a tumblr user and their post has been stolen by the scam account word for word. No money donated to the PayPal username kathnicols is going to the cat. Also the PayPal address is in the Philippines and if you pay attention to the vet bill it’s for MA.

The blogs bio is stolen from another blog.

Which is basically the scammer trying to look like someone’s alt account.

Please don’t donate to thetreeonthecountryside/thetreepoink. They block/delete any reblogs/comments that call them out so you have to do it another way. This scammer doesn’t care about this cat they just stole it off Facebook. Here is the original owners posts.

The ask being sent:

“Greetings! Hi there! Pardon me for being this direct. But my little kitty needs your help, i know times are tough but please if you have some time to spare, kindly boost/share the post I pinned for her. It would be so meaningful to me as I’m hoping it would reach more people.. please 💔🙏 praying you’d consider, and pls kindly send me a msg for a response or answer the ask privately so I could atleast thank you for doing us a favor! They deactivated, but unfortunately that means their post can still spread by reblogs. However, they can’t delete any reblogs that call them a scammer.

TURTLE EMERGENCY (my tort is cold & it is winter in Iowa) KO-FI DONATIONS & COMMS OPEN

HELLOW long story mostly short. My turtles basking bulb went out. The metal base came off in the socket. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me w these bulbs & at this point I just want to get him a garage heat lamp or smth from menards bc everything reptile-branded is shit. I can't remove the base from the socket bc these lamps are so poorly made. He isn't brumating rn either & I don't want him to get cold & sick - he has a ceramic heat lamp & a heat pad to keep him mostly warm but he needs a lamp.

I'm currently researching what type of lamp to get but I'd imagine the cost of a lamp/bulbs/woodchips (he needs fresh chips too) would be over $100, which I definitely do not have rn. A very simple quick way to tell if the blog sending you an ask to share their pinned pet post is a scam with timestamps enabled:

They followed you randomly and sent the ask seconds later

The posts before pinned are reblogged minutes apart and are fit to a certain trending theme

They told you to answer PRIVATELY despite their post being public meaning they could be trying to hide their asks

The pinned post is not very old and at best is hours/days/weeks old

Things you should do:

Search the ask in tumblr search to see if it was sent to other users

Search the name on their address to see if it is known to belong to someone who isn’t being truthful and steals fundraisers

Check to see if the fundraiser is copied from Facebook/Gofundme by going to those sites and either searching the pet name or part of the story. Most likely you will locate the source unless it was posted to a private group in which you won’t be able to locate it

a friend of mine really needs help gathering up the money for vet care for his cat. we’re very worried about both of them, this kitty means the world to him and we’re not sure how long he’ll stick around if something happens to him. (not to mention, kitty doesn’t deserve to die just because capitalism is hell.)
